I don’t know if anyone cares about this but me but every time im floored about the sort of quick change makeup done in the middle of papers. He’s already a bit roughed up but by the time it’s over there’s more on his cheeks and a nosebleed. I think I’ve figured out when this happens, there’s a ensemble member who bends down and someone else who’s infront of him — so it’s a quick misdirect to swipe the fake blood under his nose.

Look- I’m a simple person, I like mines, caves and gore makeup.

Does anyone else notice that thing where they put foundation on pale white men on TV, but either it is too yellow of a shade to begin with, or their skin gets redder as they emote, and you can tell the difference in areas like their eyelids?

I think it's not as noticeable in women because they tend to also wear more eye makeup, blush, bronzer, etc...

Anyway, I don't actually know anything about professional makeup, especially for film, but I think it would be cool if the way our faces naturally look was more acceptable to show.... either by using shades that better reflect that, or by using less makeup or even none at all.

(Though I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons for the level of artifice we see on film is the need for consistency when shooting over a longer period of time than the story spans! Like, someone's skin doesn't look the exact same for two whole months, but they're pretending it's only been a week.)

Had to do fake brusing in class today 5 people have asked if I got bit and I got thus great interaction with my mother.(I am posting a pic of the bruise on this post)

Thought I'd have a little fun today and try to sneak onto one of the combat troopers' transports so I could finally see one of their demonstrations (Relax, it wasn't Deej's squad.). I figured I'd just disguise myself a little and hop on board with the rest of them. Easy-peasy.

Unfortunately, Captain Phasma caught me when I was in line to board and pointed out that a) I couldn't leave because I hadn't arranged for a substitute to teach my classes at the Academy tomorrow, and b) While attempting to disguise myself by wearing a false mustache from Lieutenant Mitaka's stage makeup kit was rather clever, it doesn't work as well when you adhere the mustache to the *outside* of your helmet.

Ugh. Why does everyone in this place hate fun?
