Something I don’t hear people talk about with time bastard is Ted saying that he lost Jenny to “a pushy asshole so he became a pushy asshole” but from what we actually see of Andy, he’s just like an incredibly wholesome dork who just made a move before Ted did. Idk I just find that really fascinating to not only see Ted’s perception of the situation looking back, because to me it kind of seems like Ted’s lying to himself to justify his own actions. I think he’s lied to himself so much that he does believe it though because when modern Ted speaks to Jenny and talks about the way he is now he says to her “this is what you want right?” and it’s just not, and it probably wasn’t true about Andy from the small bits of characterization we see of him before everything happened.

Anyway just another example of this episode shows off that even though Ted is a tragic character, everything that has gone wrong in this life is also in a way caused by his own actions and perceptions of things. I love it dearly

Can we talk about Ash to Ash being the best act one closer since Happy Ending in Twisted. Ash to Ash has genuinely become one of my favourite Starkid songs of all time. I love the way it builds from just the Fairy Queen singing to then the Fairy Queen and Ella and then the whole ensemble singing different things. The layering is so good as you feel the tension rising as the song goes on.

But it works so well as an act one closer. Starkid can often be quite hit and miss with their act one closing numbers but this song is everything an act one closer should be and I wish more people spoke about it (and the music from CC in general tbh)
