the opening line of "the waste land" by t.s. eliot does often get tagged as jason-coded but i don't think a lot of people read the whole poem and know just how jaycore all of it is... "april is the cruelest month," indeed, but it's cruel because of its paradox; it's a month of rebirth and yet, for something to be reborn, it has to die. the resurrection is not kind. then there's "son of man, (...) you know only a heap of broken images," – on how a consciousness consumes memory in a disordered way. "and I will show you something different from either / your shadow at morning striding behind you / or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;" – both your past and the future are haunting you now. and of course, "i could not speak, and my eyes failed / i was neither living nor dead," – again, it's april, the time of resurrection, the time of being stranded in-between, and the lyrical subject is forced to transform without a chance to articulate all the grief that comes with it. and there's the repeating mention of the "unreal city" that is borrowed from baudelaire’s “the seven old men”: “unreal city, city full of dreams, / where ghosts in broad daylight cling to passers-by.” <- a gotham moment. "that corpse you planted last year in your garden, / has it begun to sprout? will it bloom this year? / or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?" is the grief productive? can the dead find peace? does one negate the possibility of the other? "who is the third who walks always beside you?" the haunting; a hallucination or a reference to two disciples meeting resurrected jesus. and finally, the last verses: "shall i at least set my lands in order?" followed by a reference to "the spanish tragedy:" “why then Ile fit you” – the words said by the killer as a promise of both obliging the king in writing a play and enacting revenge on stage.
i've made 5 sets for my halloween event so far bc i'll be travelling for a week and a half in october and 3 out of the 5 are just. completely blue. not even blue and another color, just blue. it's a sickness tbh
Obviously there's varying amounts of speculation here, but I believe this is as close to a reasonable order of events as can be achieved with current, in-game information

The Statue Saga. Edited all on my phone so excuse the choppy footage.
Joel: I'm going to make these so ugly that no one is going to like them, then blame it all on Etho. That'll get him!
Bdubs, Skizz & Mumbo: This is spectacular, amazing, breathtaking. I love it. I'm never taking this statue down.
I cut most of the actual building of the statues out since I wanted to move so focus on the reactions but if you want to see the actual building process I've written the timestamp below. Also there are more scenes that I probably missed or chose not to include so here are some more timestamps. I highly recommend you to check the videos/streams out for yourself.
ykw i'm just gonna say it. "it must have been awful for tommy to be closeted under gerrard's captaincy" and "tommy had a privileged position due to his gender and race that he actively benefited from and failed to utilize to openly advocate for chimney and hen—particularly chimney—who didn't have the privilege he did" are two statements that can and should coexist
what I was talking abt earlier. we have fully looped back around and away from feminism, societally, whereas before it was very Feminism 101 to acknowledge that many parts of existing as a woman in a misogynistic society are painful and upsetting.
not that being a woman is Inherently Negative in a bubble. but that living on this earth, in the conditions we're living in, is hostile to women.
and that gender is a performance. that many of the Staples Of Femininity as accepted by society are things that you have to create and perform and mold artificially and aren't inherent, that COMPLAINING about day to day difficulties of existing as a woman is something that you're allowed to do.
acknowledging these basic, again, feminism 101 things, that something tied to womanhood is more time consuming or more expensive or more dangerous Because Of The Problems. does not CREATE the problems. that when women complain about having to perform femininity, they are not, in fact, oppressing themselves. the call does not come from inside the fucking house.
saying that you HAVE suffered does not fucking equate that you believe you SHOULD have suffered.
like I could talk about this for hours. how braindead and one-dimensional the Takes are getting. "being a woman is looking in the mirror and going fuck yeah i'm a woman" damn. I guess any negative experiences you have by living in a misogynistic world... are your fault if you are anything but positive?
"you don't actually want liberation" we've fully gone back to telling feminists "you WANT to be oppressed" when anything negative about our society is pointed out. it's not real until I say it out loud, I guess, and then I'm actually the one who caused it.
if anybody expresses any unhappiness with how they're treated or the status quo or the language and culture surrounding womanhood and femininity. they've created it, right that second. they invented it just now. it wasn't a problem before somebody complained, right?
also trans women aren't braindead zombies who just follow the flow of whatever cis women around them say. I am pretty fucking sure they are very much aware of pain, and are MORE than aware of the swirling torrent of misogyny and standards of femininity than anybody else. actually. and I am pretty sure someone complaining on tumblr that being a woman means always putting on a performance is going to make someone change their mind about transitioning. also "performing femininity" as a necessity to being treated well as a woman is not fucking NEWS to your Local Trans Woman. I AM PRETTY SURE SHE GETS THE CONCEPT. using trans women as a scapegoat for this braindead perspective on gender politics is spineless, meritless, and pathetic.
I feel like people aren't getting it. In. The. Books. Perseus. Jackson. Is. An. Unreliable. Narrator. This goes for everything he thinks. Percy loves his mother, so he writes her praises. In the show we get to see what Sally does from an outside POV not filtered through a child that idolizes his mother. It's not ooc for Sally to act like she does in the show. she's a single mother raising a neurodivergent, Demigod, and she's scared that when the Gods get to him they'll corrupt him. She's not suddenly a girl boss we're getting to see her for how she is.
