I want to see people talk about the deleted scene from The Marvels where Valkyrie refers to Carol as “my captain”, Kamala tells her she’s single and Valkyrie even jokes about “strap on”…

Considering someone got pissed off with my taggings I just wanted to explain I will always tag characters who are mentioned on the incorrect quote, even if they have no lines.
If you don’t like it then I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do for you. Getting pissed off in the comments will only make me block you. So my advice is blocking me first if you don’t like my tagging system.

You only think lesbianism is restrictive because you’re not a lesbian.
Actual lesbians usually think being a lesbian is pretty freeing and liberating.
You should respect that. Our entire lives people try to influence and force us into being attracted to men and realizing you’re not attracted to men in a society that centers them in everything and treats women and other fem-aligned people as less and as failures for not being with them certainly can be freeing.

You want to know a LGBTQ+ historical fact that is not centered in the US?
In 2018 the Federal Psychology Council in Brazil stopped classifying being trans as a disorder and it became illegal to promote any type of conversion therapy to trans people.

Interesting to notice how often you see gay men admiring women or recognizing how certain women are beautiful and you don’t see a lot of people calling them bi or invalidating them somehow, but if a lesbian does that - or even just say something positive about a guy - people will suddenly react in ways like “weren’t you a lesbian?” or “so you are attracted to men”
You do realize you can admire someone or think someone is beautiful without any romantic and sexual feelings involved, don’t you?

A lot of people in the LGBTQ+ community say similar things but not as directly.

This person was going so well in their argument until they mentioned trans men can be lesbians.
If you think trans men can be lesbians I am sorry to tell you this but you’re the one being transphobic. Deep down you don’t see them as men.

Lesbians can still admire men without being attracted to them.
Lesbians can still have friendships with men without being attracted to them.
Lesbians can love men (platonically) without being attracted to them.
Y’all really act like the minimum amount of positivity a lesbian shows about a guy then they aren’t really a lesbian, which is quite funny because I don’t see this same energy to invalidate gay men or even straight women…

A lesbian I follow made a pretty good analogy to explain to her straight male friend how she used to date men but now considers herself a lesbian and not bi.
She said something like “try to think of a fruit/food your parents used to make you eat when you were a kid. You’d eat that food/fruit because you were obligated to, not because you liked. After you grow up you start getting more autonomy and you find out [insert food/fruit] is what you actually like and not the thing your parents made you eat.”

Sapphic is about any woman/nb person who is attracted to other women/nb people, regardless of their attraction (or lack of) to men.
Lesbian is about any woman/nb person who is attracted exclusively to women/nb people.
So every lesbian is a sapphic but not every sapphic is a lesbian.
Having taken all that into consideration: stop only calling lesbians “sapphics” because it’s like you’re afraid to use the word “lesbian”. This goes especially if the person identifies with the lesbian label but you keep calling them sapphic instead.

Since Renee Rapp came out as a lesbian lesbophobia regarding her identity has been pretty obvious.
When she identified as bi and people mistakenly said she was a lesbian non-lesbians would get FERAL calling out biphobia and bi erasure.
But now that she publicly identifies as a lesbian whenever someone says she’s bi and someone else corrects them suddenly is “it’s not that deep” or “who cares”.
The issue y’all have with using the lesbian label to describe a lesbian is ridiculous.
