You ever notice how much the Hale family is centered around the entire plot and base for the show yet we never really get the back story? There literally wouldn’t be a show without the Hales and the Argents. We got a family history lesson for the Argents, seeing and learning their origin. But not the Hales. We never met the family lost in the fire that sparked the whole series. We met Talia, briefly, Laura for 3 seconds, and of course Peter and Cora. But Derek himself said in season 1 that there were 11 people that died in the fire (10, because he assumed Cora had also died) and we only met 1 of this people. He also said that there were people who were perfectly ordinary in his family that died in the fire, yet in the movie he implies that all Hales ARE werewolves. I assume the ordinary family members maybe married into the family? Or it’s a plot hole to be ignored. Anyway…

The entire show could have been leagues better had Jeff Davis explored plot points he literally opened up. We don’t know all that really happened, the true actions of Kate and her manipulation of Derek, we never see that. That key moment, is the entire foundation for the show. If Kate doesn’t manipulate Derek, there is no fire. If there is no fire then Peter does plot his revenge, starting with killing his own niece to become Alpha. If Peter doesn’t become the Alpha, then Scott doesn’t get bit. Why have this monumental thing that is the undisputed core of the show but never detail it, never show it? Not even give it a mini series spinoff? And I don’t even want to talk about Derek gaining the ability to fully shift into a wolf only for us to see it ONCE and it never be talked about again. The show (and movie) as much as I love it, could have been so much better had there been at least a split focus between Scott and the Hales.

My dudes (and dudettes!!) we have a slow burn fandom theme song. I am living my best life jamming to this song. It’s an anthem. And I could see it inspiring so many to write slow burn fics.

If you haven’t seen the Teen Wolf movie, it actually wasn’t bad. Did I only watch for Derek? Sure. But it was actually okay. Although…they kind of did Derek dirty, no surprise there. But, Derek states that he hate Stiles’ Jeep. Why would he hate the Jeep? Answer, it’s just serves as a reminder of Stiles’ absence. SO to fic writing we go 😂 In the works now, I’m going to fix the end and explain Stiles’ absence. Filled with baby mama drama, and Derek terrified of flying. Let just hope I actually finish it and post it lol

I don't know that I've ever rec'd a podfic before, but Rose is a delight in all her fandoms. (She has over 700 works posted on AO3). If you like podfics at all, and you haven't heard of her, you're doin' it wrong!) It feels a little odd to wax poetic about someone's voice, but when you listen to her Stiles and her Derek, you'll know exactly what I mean. The original fic is amazing, but Rose's recoding brings different nuances and aspects to the forefront than I would normally notice when I read. I have a helluva commute and have made my way through all her Teen Wolf stuff and am working on the Marvel. :)

My Roman Empire is when Noah gives that look (the I'm your dad I know everything look) towards Stiles and calmly states that he knew Stiles would end up with Derek. Knew that Stiles would always put his own life on the line for Derek, Peter, Eli, and Cora because Stiles was just always better and happier around the Hales. Cause there has always been something about the Hales that calmed Stiles.

my favorite thing ever is when supernatural creatures just love stiles ❤️ like oh yeah. there’s a family of pixies in some random forest in california who ADORES stiles and practically wants to adopt him. yup there’s the yeti who’s practically in love with stiles and is willing to do anything for him. oh! there’s the mermaid who would literally pay to be a human for a day just to spend time with stiles. and there’s the old vampire who is always gifting stiles antique knickknacks and practically has stiles in his will (“vampires have wills!?”) wherein he’ll inherit his entire dracula mansion and possessions from like the 1600s. i just crave supernatural creatures who just adore stiles ❤️ little silly stiles ❤️ derek is so so torn whether or not he should be jealous or be happy because that’s his stile

as if stiles and derek didn't text after derek left in s4. maybe not all the time, maybe not even some of the time but there's no way stiles didn't check in or send him memes or derek didn't worry when it'd gone too long without hearing from stiles.
