coming in with some fresh ocs now that I can look at your site! 🕰️for garvith, 🤕 for shina, 💀 for noah
aaaaaa hello yes!! new oc info coming up i definitely drifted a little in these replies since i wna do justice introducing these guys to you :D!! as always u have impeccable skill in choosing ask game questions<3
🕰️ has there been an event that happened in your OCs past that affects their future or one that they think about still? is this a bad event or a good one? what are a few of their childhood memories they can recall?
extremely :D! abt this one bc it is so so vital to his existence!!! garvith is infact the other half of reina's soul (as in, resulting from the very soul split that broke the entire verse) the original ruler they were split her soul resulting in reina (who retained the original's name and appearance) and garvith, who took the form of a giant white feathered serpent, who didn't take a proper name until a bit later due to nerice getting nuked as consequence n there not having been a lot of time for identity-finding during that mess. immediate post-split reina/garvith is vry fun because they're essentially identical persons(serpents) who share a consciousness soup until they diverge into vastly different personalities over the following centuries of war :3!!! as such garvith's 'childhood memories' are exactly the same as reina's bc they were the same being up to the soul split, which definitely wins out on Important Event He Keeps Thinking About That Shaped His Future like. i do have to stress it's not that garvith is a split-off part of reina but that both reina&garvith as they exist now are divergent paths of the singular true ruler they were before the split!! i love going on endless meta on which aspects of og!reina each of them retained/are expressions of, it's soooo interesting!!!! but a ramble for a different time bc length! :D
plugging the reina/garvith aes tag here tho it's one of my favs <3
🤕 what is the worst injury your OC has ever suffered? do they have any scars or lasting physical reminders of it? do they get sick often or have any lasting medical conditions?
ohboy!!! shina is the lifesong user of lhnh generation making her everyone's favourite field medic (evil) the drawback being that to heal someone she essentially transfers their injuries to herself >:3 she's racked up an impressive scar count that easily beats out gray's habitual mutilation games to the point where there's not many places on her body that are unscarred. her worst scar(s) are the result of trying to save as many people as possible in the aftermath of one of azra's surprise attacks until the lifesong shut down on her (yay for parasitic power that wants to keep its host alive) & to her credit, with experience she learns to mitigate the damage she incurs by diverting e.g. one large injury in many smaller, less severe ones, so long as the total life force given balances out it works! descendant resilience keeps her from suffering too hard a long-term damage (everything heals eventually) also just general unrelated but vital fun fact im tacking on at the end: she absolutely fucking hates descendants and her war duty and while she will not let anyone die she is also always a second away from murdering people in cold blood, has stopped hearts in sincere threat, and despises reina with a passion. shina's only buddy is a guy by the name of irias who also keeps a pet blood demon which further dampens how much dmg she has to take for her job where she can just infuse its generated blood with her life force to heal people and then pass the fuck out. she's a lot
💀 has your OC ever lost anyone to death? multiple people? people close to them? how does the loss make them feel?
FUNNILY ENOUGH noah has never lost anyone to death (not on main anyway. avery dies a couple times, but that's Complicated lol) HOWEVER noah is notoriously unlucky in just. getting fucking betrayed to the point of the other person being dead to him/having to kill them which is just. extremely tragic how it keeps happening im laughing (crying) rn fucking f. heres an abridged list:
damia whom he technically betrays first when he allies with reina and leaves damia stuck at the bottom of the ocean. they have a cute deathmatch abt it in dream game
maheloas switches to azra's side and noah spends much of the rest of the war hunting him down/keeping him in check during battles
garvith, who ultimately flees the war during a critical encounter with azra (which also almost kills reina. oops) & that fucks noah up even more since he n garvith were kind of an item (in their own dragon/serpent way. advanced qpr)
noah's entire fucking drama revolves around a self-sustaining cycle of toxic loyalty and betrayal (where his own betrayal of damia is at the core) and he copes with what he did thru his unwavering loyalty to reina to his own and everyone else's detriment h.
-
these were very fun so if anyone wants to send me more!! pls!!!! (oc page linked in description etc) uwwwwwu

steve rogers x ronin!reader / masterlist
summary; five years is a long time, but now there is hope of returning those that turned to ashes to the reality. as a former member of the avengers, steve sets out to find you, finally seeing what you had become / warnings; death, angst, murder, mentions of sex, smut, flashback, captain kink
blood, it ran like a serpent on the cement, curving its red spine to elaborate the cracks in the ground. steve watched with distaste on the street, his patriotic orbs following after the crimson lines, watching lewdly as they met with the hood’s feet.
steve’s expression was one of exasperation, concurred in a waver of disgruntled shock. there were remnants of the kill dripping from blade, descending to the ground. once, the weapon had been used to allege a fight for a good cause. oh, how times had changed.
now it was served a purpose to subdue execution, slicing the air ways of men that deserved no more than have been turned to dust along with their previous victims. now, they could disdain no more damage onto society, their numbers were dwindling, as each was taken down, with the retribution of their loyal followers.
his blue eyes were given no option to look away, not as the inflicting murderess dropped her hood, revealing her face; it was you. the rain spattered the street, clinging your follicles to the surface of your face, it had gotten longer since the last time he had seen you, the parting of one side of your head was shaved, it was a modern style, and well, different than what he had been used to.
“y/n...” it felt as though he were uttering a stranger’s name, it had been half a decade since he had last witnessed your presence, after everyone had vanished, you had ventured off, taking the lives of many as you attempted to move on and satiate in your sorrow.
“it’s been a long time steve.” you smiled, as you watched his blond locks drown in the weather, though, he paid no mind. his eyes were locked upon you, his pupils dilated as he studied every difference to your exterior. you appeared a little older, as was a given, there were dark circles bothering the ponds of your under eyes, stating that you still struggled with nightmares after you had lost the battle.
“for you too, as i can see.” he sadly smiled, watching intently as you put the katana back into its slip, stepping inherently closer as he grasped your cheek, noticing how you tried to turn out of his grip. he didn’t allow you that luxury, he held your face steady as he nervously panted. “why did you leave, and do this as an alternative of all things?”
“avenging is no longer an accomplishment, we lost, and this way, i am abolishing the bad guys before they get their rise to global terror. don’t you understand?”
“no, i didn’t mean the compound, i meant that night.” even him mentioning it had you freezing up, aware of what he was promoting at. “we had our moment, and you disappeared, you weren’t there in the morning; i needed you, and i thought you needed me too.”
“who i was back the did, she really needed you, but she’s gone. she had to go, if she hadn’t, then she wouldn’t have survived the aftermath. now why are you here rogers?” your tone was stiff, demanding an answer.
“steve.” his name was a safe haven on your lips, he laid atop of you, his beard brushing the sides along your neck as he planted sloppy kisses upon your delicate skin. fighting against thanos and all his force had essentially been a failure, people, your friends, had obliterated into piles of ash, blowing away whence the wakandan wind ushered by, like a whisper in the air.
the captain rutted his hips, as the pair of you laid in a combination of explorative limbs on your bed within the compound, sufficing sounds of pleasure withering out of your lips. he too needed to release some steam, using your body and it’s warm grip, as you did the same in turn.
there was pain lurking in the depths of your emotion conjuring eyes, reflecting in his blue orbs, as he opened them, glancing at your face to fuel his movements of anticipating release. “i’m close captain, don’t stop.” he brought his hard working hand down, fiddling with your sensitive nub between his fingers, coercing you into spiralling over the edge.
he himself didn’t last much longer, grunts of emphasised endorsement radiating off his chest, as he placed a heavy and heated kiss upon your poised lips. a ground shaking tending of his shoulders indicated that he was stiffening up, getting close to relieving himself, and the stress that harboured his shield of a heart.
he had been through so much already, same as you, and thus when he rolled off of you, he brought your body to lay against his chest, raking his fingers through your hair, planting a tender kiss upon your forehead.
“we’ll get them back darling.” he promised you, as you all relished in the company of one another, some more than others, as you waited to hear something, anything, from tony, wherever the hell he was in the abyss above. it was a promise of steve’s part, but as time went on, it became doll.
like an old movie, it lost it’s future optimism, disappearing into a blithering of new coming titles, fawning you into remembering all their names, and how you would never see them again. they were all gone, your family vanished, and there was nothing that could be done.
it was a long shot, but it was the best chance that they had been handed. scott had informed them of quantum physics, and how it protected him from the blip and all its pain; time worked differently in the realm that he had delved into, and it gave them hope.
not to mention, they had yet to see tony, and make his mind revisit the prospect of reversing the affects of the infinity gauntlet, and thanos’ thu’um. and if steve managed to bring you aboard their hopefulness, he would take you with them, and show you the cabin that tony resided in.
it would be his way of informing you that you could have it all, the life that you wanted. a home, where you would no longer have to run, finding shelter and attacking the enemy from dark corners, preying on them like a predator, disguising yourself in a black attire, so that you could blend into the deadly atmosphere almost undetected.
and not to mention, the marriage and the kid. they were things that you had sworn off, revelling in the life of a skilled mercenary, never wanting to ever endanger loved ones in that way, knowing the wrath that your job and potential could cause.
“we have a chance to set things straight.” he responded, noticing how you had stepped away from his hand, and instead focused all your senses into listening to him. “there is a way to bring them all back.” a chortled laugh echoed off your chest, as you crossed your arms over your chest.
“if there was, we would have found it years ago, don’t give me hope where there is none.” you insisted, the emotion straining through your words. “that night, i left all reminders behind, don’t return them to my brain when i am finally able to comprehend what i need to do.”
“what you need to do y/n is have a little faith, you trust me, don’t you?” a moment of silence enveloped the two of you, the falling of the rain filling in the tense air, as steve continued to reprimand your agenda. “i know you do, so, so come home.”
the avengers compound; home. “tell me it will work steve, i can’t lose them again, not again. false efficiency concerning this will only make it hurt once more, possibly worst than the first, where i saw their bodies descend into nothing more than specks.”
“it has to.” those words were the same thing that he had been telling himself. “and if not, we’ll have each other to lean on again, i know it’s not much but-“
“it’s enough.” you finished for him, a pained smile expressive on your complexion. “because this time, i am really going to need you, i will become who i was once more. and if i crumble, i am going to need you to be there for me, to catch you when i fall, and most probably if we do get them back. i still feel overwhelmed about everything, and thus all that bothers my mind is images of you.”
how you wished he had stayed, but alas he had to go back in time, and unite with peggy, alternately allowing you to spiral. it made you regret, only partially of course on a somewhat selfish scale, ever continuing on with the due path. whilst you had gained your family back, you had lost one vastly import member.
you’d remember his name, for good and bad. he had hurt you, but helped you altogether, reminding you of your duty once more, that was avenging. a part of you wished that you had never left him that night, maybe then, his actions would have been different, and he’d have stayed, but again, it was only a theory, something you could never be certain of.

manuscript search tag game
and from another beloved! @diphthongsfordays ❤️
my words are love, fix, weak, soft, difficult
love (Hurricane) (tw implied self harm) (this is one of my favourite bits! it’s unfortunately a bit spoilery, but i love the last line especially)
Once the cut on her wrist had healed to a scar, Tempest had covered it with a wave tattoo, to remind her of those words. To remind her to ride the waves, however high, and to remind her that she had survived and she would keep surviving. Perhaps she would never be [redacted] again, but she was a mother and a captain and a friend. She would love, and she would be loved, and she would be strong.
fix (Hurricane) (and now for a sadder Laila excerpt)
She wouldn’t look back. If she did, she might fall apart, and she couldn’t. She had to stay strong, for her father. She wouldn’t look back.
As the pirate ship pulled away from the damaged Nasir, though, she did look back, fixing her eyes on her father one last time, before the gathering darkness swallowed him up. Was this price too high? No, she told herself. No price was too high to save her father. And he was safe.
“Welcome aboard the Marquess,” said the pirate captain.
weak (Dragonsong) (go Isi go!)
“You don’t know what you’ve done,” he said. “Your duty was to kill dragons. The dragons are evil. They’ll bring only ruin to this land.”
Isi sighed. It was such a vague excuse. “Why?”
“They hoard wealth,” he said like it was obvious. “They hoard wealth for themselves without sharing, and when they roamed freely everyone lived in fear of them.”
That didn’t sound like the dragons Isi knew. In fact, it sounded more like the weaselly little man in front of her than anything else. She drew her sword, the blade sparkling in the weak sun. “You say my duty is to kill those who hoard wealth, and of whom people live in fear.” She didn’t raise her voice, but still the words echoed through the room. “I offer you a different choice. Throw down your crown and hand yourself over to me.”
soft (Hurricane) (tw blood, chains) (whoops i’m back to angst)
Aella curled in on herself, chains clanking. The walls seemed to close in on her, choking the breath from her lungs. Can’t breathe can’t breathe can’t—
“Breathe,” said Theo’s voice in her mind. She remembered him back in the port, through the door of the stuck changing room, his soft words the only solid thing in the midst of her panic. She closed her eyes, trying to conjure him, in the hope it might push away some of the fear that threatened to smother her entirely. She imagined his reminder to breathe, the gentleness of his voice, but it quickly morphed into the same reminder he’d given her back at Serpent Run and then all she could see was the blood on his shirt and the greyish tint of his face and—
difficult (Dragonsong)
When they stopped, she didn’t so much sit as fall down. The impact sent a jolt of pain through her side, but it seemed far away and fuzzy. She’d found a tree to put her back against, at least.
Ebele and Cole worked together to draw branches into a screen, the way she’d seen Robin do once. Despite their exhaustion and lack of practice, their gestures were fluid and perfectly coordinated. Clearly they’d done this before. It was difficult to know where one twisting branch ended and another began. Isi found her eyes drifting out of focus.
“Robin, what medication do you need?” SB unslung Robin’s bag from his shoulder.
Sierra crouched by Isi. “SB, are there bandages in there? Can you chuck me a roll?”
A small roll of white fabric flew through the air. Sierra grabbed it. “Thanks.”
tagging @ashen-crest @vellichor-virgo and anyone else who wants to search for the words reflect, relay, retrace, regrow

Pining
Summary: Sweet Pea/Reader- Sweet Pea wants an actual relationship, his friends see fit to interfere.
You turn back to Toni ignoring the sigh you can hear from Sweet Pea; you hate how much his wistfulness bothers you. When he sighs again you snap, turning to him, but Toni beats you to it. “Would it kill you to be discreet about it?” Toni laughs at Sweet Pea’s shocked face. “About what?” “How much you pine after Jones and Cooper, I get they’re like the perfect couple, but they’re a couple neither of them want anyone else. Drop it; your heartbroken pinning isn’t going to sway them.” She speaks and you laugh with her nodding as Sweet Pea tries to defend himself. “Well if you don’t love at least one of them, why do you sigh every time they do anything couple-y.” Fangs counters and Sweet Pea shrugs. “I want that. What they have, that closeness, what Toni and Cheryl have.” “You want a relationship? What happened to Vivian then?”
“No, I want a soulmate; and Vivian wasn’t into me; just the whole-“ “Scary Serpent vibe right? Was she disappointed when she found out you’re practically a teddy bear.” You smirk and Sweet Pea rolls his eyes. “Shut it Y/N I’m nothing of the sort. I am a serpent, therefore I’m terrifying and a bad boy.” “Mhm, but you’re also the guy who spend half of fifth grade saving the worms on the sidewalk.”
“You asked me to, so I had no choice.” He crosses his arms. “And you spend three days outside Fang’s house when he broke his arm.” Toni laughs. “Also you spent all last summer tutoring me in chemistry.” You add and he waves his hands, thumping them onto the table. “Enough! I have a neck tattoo, I’m a scary Serpent!” You smirk nodding, biting down another peal of laughter before you pitch your voice up and wiggle your fingers at him.
“I’m a scaryyyy serpennntttttt” you mock and he blanks his face. “When I kill you they won’t find the body.” “Like you could ever kill me.” You smile standing as the bell rings returning to class from lunch.
————————————————————————————–
You watch him more after that noting how the sighing, the longing looks are not directed at Betty, or Jughead, but their clasped hands, the moments they lean on each other. Whenever Jughead runs his hands over hers, or they stay a moment too long in a hug. You stay silent, content to watch him watching; to let him suffer in his own bubble; no sense in dragging an unrequited crush into the mix. No need to make him feel guilty on top of lonely. You soften after he confesses his want for a relationship, you feel no need to be jealous; not of something that has yet to exist. “So then, what do you want in a soulmate?”
“You trying to set me up then?” Sweet Pea narrows his eyes at Fangs and Toni. “Of course; we’re your best friends, we know you inside and out, plus we’re both in relationships; so Y/N doesn’t count cause she’s single.” Fang’s eyes light up and you can see Toni nod a fraction. You sigh nodding to them. “Alright, what am I doing to help then?” Toni smirks. “Cheryl’s going to ask you a few questions. After Sweet Pea answers them.” “Cheryl? You’re getting Cheryl involved?” Sweet Pea glares. “We were going to get Jones and Cooper in on it; but it seems better to not.” “Plus Cheryl doesn’t know you as well as us which could prove to be interesting when selecting potential soulmates.” Fangs smirks as Cheryl nods. “Alright then, let’s start with the basic’s; favourite colour?”
“Do you really think I’m shallow enough not to date someone based on their favourite colour?” Sweet pea scoffs. “It’s green.” “What shade?” Cheryl pulls a pen and notebook out. “Mint Green.” “You know you can’t lie; this won’t work if you don’t tell the truth.” Cheryl looks unimpressed and Sweet Pea groans. “I like pastel’s okay, they’re soothing.” He states as he flips her off. She laughs. “Just a few more then-“ You leave once Toni lets you know they’re not even halfway through with Sweet Pea’s questions and that she’ll call you later when they need your help.
—————————————————————————————– It takes two more days; in between classes for Sweet Pea to finish whatever soulmate questionnaire Cheryl and Toni had created. You laugh when he cheers as Cheryl folds the paper and puts it away. “Now we’ll just go around to everyone who’s single and then set you up on dates on the weekend.” “You’ll what now?” Sweet Pea stares at them and Toni laughs. “Don’t worry we’re funding the Pop’s meals and access into La Bonne Nuit.” Cheryl pats him on the shoulder. “So who’s up first?” “Well it wouldn’t be a blind date unless you didn’t know. Besides we have to actually ask everyone first.” “You’re wasting your time.”
“Really? You complain about being single every other day and it’s not like you have your eyes on anyone, otherwise you would have asked them out already.” Cheryl comments and both you and Fangs gasp. “Oh my god you do like someone!!! You have to tell us! We can set you up.” “It’s not like that; we can’t be together.” “Anything else cliché you wanna say?  No, good, you’ll meet your first date at pop’s eight pm this Friday.”
“So why wouldn’t you tell us who you’re crushing on?” You ask as you and Sweet Pea walk home to Sunnyside. “Well we can’t be together, she’s way outta my league and besides that she’d never want me.” He shrugs and gestures to himself. “Come on Pea you’re a catch to anyone; any of those Northsider’s would be lucky to have you.”
“We’re all Northsider’s now.” He laughs and you nod. “I mean the like ‘original Northsiders.’ You know they fawn over you cause you’re a ‘bad boy’ or whatever.” You roll your eyes; as he nods. “The most badass.” “You’ll scare them all off acting like that.” Cheryl appears and smirks handing him an envelope.
“The time, and location, also what you should wear. I’ve taken the liberty to match your clothes to her favourite colour, so hopefully it’s a positive association.” Sweet Pea opens the envelope scanning it. “I thought you were the only one allowed to wear red.” “I am, the red is just an accent colour.” “If you make me wear a tie to Pop’s..” “Relax Toni said you had a red plaid monstrosity of a shirt.” “You wear plaid..” Sweet pea fires back and Cheryl nods. “Yes, tastefully. Now go get ready.” “You said it was at eight pm!” “There was a change of plans!” She shouts after him as he shoves the letter into your hands.
“So who is it?” Cheryl smirks at your question. “Ginger; you know the Vixen who stares at him anytime he gets sent to find Toni for meetings.” You nod, you know Ginger, she’s nice; still you can’t help the jealousy that bubbles in the back of your throat. You crush it down as Toni and Fangs ask about them. “Ginger, apparently.” You silently cheer when Fangs scowls. “Didn’t he and Ginger break up cause she wanted to sleep with Jones?” Toni questions and you nod.
“Well she tried to sleep with him, when he and Betty had that fight remember?” They both nod and cringe. “Well tonight should be fun then. Cheryl booked us front row seats to watch what’s going to be a disaster.”
——————————————————————————- Sweet Pea glowers at the table as you sit with Toni and Fangs drinking the shake Fangs ordered for you. “Y/N how’s he holding up.”
“He’s been glaring for six whole minutes. I’m pretty sure he’d melting my shake with the heat from his anger. How much you wanna bet he scares Ginger off.” “You’re just saying that cause you want him to scare her off.” “Of course.” You know they know about your crush; even if you’ve never voiced it; Toni still had Cheryl question you. You remind yourself to ask how much you and Sweet Pea hand in common once he finds whoever he wants to be his soulmate.
He waves Ginger over and she smiles at him leaning over the table to give him a half hug. You’re too far away to hear anything, but when Toni casually decides to walk to the bathroom she returns laughs patting your back. “Nothing to worry about Ginger brought up him being higher in the Serpent’s now.” “That’s a lot to worry about;” Fangs slumps slightly and you look confused at him. “It means he’s going to whine to me about it now; I’ll have to listen to him complain over and over. I hate this plan.” You laugh looking up to Sweet Pea continuing to glare at your table. —————————————————————————
It takes five more disastrous dates before Sweet Pea vows to give up if the next one doesn’t work out. “Sweet Pea, no you can’t give up, we still have at least seven more after this and-“ “No, if this one doesn’t work out I’m done. I’ll just try to date on my own. I appreciate the help; I really do, but its obviously not working.” He slumps in his chair and Cheryl and Toni share some sort of coded look. “So what’s the plan this time? Maybe something where he doesn’t whine so much, Fangs complains to me about him complaining about your plans.” You eye Cheryl’s smile wearily.
“This was meant to be our sort of last ditch effort. A surefire match, both of them put down almost identical answers” You arch an eyebrow. “Wow, well why not put them first then?” “Had to give him something to look forward too. We have it set for six pm a Pop’s.” “Okay, so Toni, Fangs and I will be on lookout duty then?” You turn when they stay silent. “Fangs and I will.”
“No, there’s no way I’m going on a pity date.” “Did you miss the part where- “ Fangs hisses but Toni shouts over him “Hey Sweet Pea, just this one date, we swear! Everything is taken care of, all you have to do is show up.” Toni clasps her hands together as he walks back up. “Please Sweet Pea, just this last one.” He sighs shaking his head. “No I’m done.” “I’ll tell the girl you have a crush on you like her.” Fangs threatens. “Wait you know who he has a crush on?” Cheryl turns from Fangs to Sweet Pea.
“Yeah he told me ages ago. I’m not about to rat him out, but you already made reservations and everything so I would be a huge waste to not go.” He guilts Sweet Pea into a frustrated agreement as he walks away smirking. “Wait, Pop’s doesn’t do reservations!” Sweet Pea shouts after him. “No backing out, I already let her know the date’s on.” Toni laughs as Sweet Pea scowls. You keep your phone hidden knowing the text chime is from Toni most likely.
—————————————————————————————- You understand Sweet Pea’s annoyance when he went on the other dates that you and the others were watching; you’re pretty sure Fangs won’t make eye contact with you anymore with the amount you’ve been glaring. “Hey Y/N you hear to spy on me one last time? I’m sure you’ve been loving the free meals though.” He laughs and you nod. “Yeah it’s pretty nice, I’m surprised you don’t just play along more for the free meals.”
“Well having decent company helps, I’m praying this date isn’t as shit as the last ones. I get we’re supposed to have matched like all the questions or whatever but that could just be guessing and luck.” He shrugs and you nod. “It’s a good attempt, plus you were so whiny about finding a soulmate.” He laughs again nodding.
“Yeah but I’d much rather be spending the night with you or Fangs.” “Well Fangs is busy.” You laugh as you both look to see Fangs glaring back. “And you are I’d assume, stuck on babysitting duty to make sure I don’t screw up my last chance at pre-destined love.” He dramatically shakes your shoulders.
“Actually I have a date.” You look confused when his face falls for a second. “Oh, maybe you’d double with me, for moral support?” His laugh sounds almost sad but you brush it off. “Can’t really double date with just the two of us yeah?” You stand nervously as Sweet Pea moves towards Fangs. “You said you wouldn’t rat me out.” He hisses under his breath and Toni smirks. “I didn’t she just matched most of the questions.” He holds his hands up and Sweet Pea nods returning to your side.
“Well, shall we sit then, you can tell me things I already know about you, and I can tell you the same.” He smiles and you follow him to the booth. “Now since Cheryl is paying I vote we order he most expensive shit we can and bring it back to mine to eat for the next few days.”
“I don’ think burgers will keep in your trailer for days Pea. Besides we can just come back.” “We haven’t even finished out first date and you’re already gunning for a second one?” You beam at him as you both pretend not to notice the flush on each other’s faces when your hands brush at the menus.

We need something with that new tattoo thing you just reblogged, like now
Oh you mean the one I just recently reblogged? done by @gspaepro? lets fucking GO. Also this shit is now canon in design, since I have the permission from them
Yiga rituals were very intricate. Motions and actions done in silence, motions done underneath candlelight and in the shadows. It was why traditional romance just. Didn’t suit their style, their way of life. Stuff like coffee dates, stuff like retiring in a farm, even wedding rings were not very common. It was one of the MANY reasons why it boggled Kohga’s mind, why he thought buying him an expensive ass wedding ring was the way to his heart. Don’t get Kohga wrong, it was a sweet gesture, but it was so...solid, so finite. It made Kohga feel like he’d be boxed in, like a cow behind a fence. He didn’t like it.
“But you still shouldn’t have done that.”
He told himself. It had been years since Sooga attempted a proposal, and just yesterday, he tried again. Kohga was mad at first, but now that he sat here, in his bed, thinking about it, he realized that it wasn’t fair to Sooga. poor guy really poured his heart out to him, only to have it be rejected. It was why he avoided him all day, and had Von watch him in the meantime (usually he reserved that for Cil, but he REALLY didn’t feel like getting hit on right now). He needed to make it up to him. He needed something that wasn’t so ridged as those stones. Then it clicked. He went to the door, and turned to Von, who was laying the flirts on THICK to some foot soldier.
“Von, grab ass later. I need you to summon Sooga for me.”
“Yes, Master Kohga. You, me, your quarters. Tonight.”
He shot the flustered foot soldier a wink, and went off to go get Sooga. Wherever the hell he was. Kohga set everything up, just in time for him to knock at his door.
“Come in.”
Sooga opened the door slowly, helping himself in, and just. Standing there. Poor guy looked so stiff, as if he didn’t practically live in this room.
“Master Kohga, I just wanted to say-”
“Shh. Sit down for me, right here.”
Sooga sat down on the stool right by the bed. There was a silence as Kohga sat down on the bed.
“Sooga, I’m not mad. Okay? I get it. You really, really thought I was ready, after who knows how many years-”
“Three.”
“W-really three years ago? Fucking hell time flies. Anyhow, I’m sorry. I snapped because I was uncomfortable. But you didn’t deserve the way I yelled at you. So, I want to make it up to you.”
Sooga hesitated. He put his arm on the small table, as Kohga motioned for him to do.
“Master Kohga...are you...?”
“Yes. I’m going to give you something better than some stupid ring. Not that it’s stupid, It’s beautiful really. I just. Sooga, it’s not me. I want something that’ll let us BREATHE you know? So. I’m going to SHOW you what you are to me. Not with some rocks. Not with some gold and silver and something you can buy. It’s something I need to show you. Take off your sleeve for me.”
Sooga obeyed. Tattoos were a very intimate, very special part of the Yiga culture. You had to have one JUST to be a Yiga. Anything else done after that were usually done in bouts of passion, to show brotherly connections, to show a friendship unlike any others, or in this case, love. And to get such a sign of affection from his Master? His body was already his to play with.
“You are an artist, Master Kohga. I already boast that I have the most respectable brand out of everyone here.”
“Sounds like you. Idiot.”
He chuckled. Kohga wiped down the arm, just so nothing would get infected. Using a very special type of Yiga ink (that only Kohga was allowed to give for the clan to use. He made it himself, afterall), Kohga seemed to already have an idea in mind, and started to work. Tattoos were painfully slow to do, especially with the design Kohga had in mind. But Sooga didn’t mind. A few hours of pinpricks were worth it, just to be near his Master.
“May I ask...what made you decide to give me such a gift?”
“It felt...feel. The ring kinda...sorta...doesn’t. Feels restrictive. Like a bedazzled leash.”
“That sounds like a gift you WOULD like, though.”
“Shut up, you.”
They both chuckled at that. Sooga sat still, watching as the needle pricked his arm over and over, watched as the needle pushed the ink into his skin. Sooga always LOVED watching him tattoo people, on the rare chances he did so. Such careful, so caring of a touch.
“You know. This reminds me of when I first fell in love with you.”
“How so?”
“When you gave me my first tattoo. The one right on my thigh. I was so...transfixed. Such a strong man, with such a gentle touch.”
“Pfft. I remember that. You were such a string bean back then!”
Kohga chuckled. Those arms weren’t always so huge and bulging, and the rest of his body wasn’t always so meaty.
“I was. I saw nothing wrong with it. That is, until I noticed the man I had affections for, was constantly surrounded by big, bulky men. Suffice to say I was...jealous.”
“Even of Cil?”
“ESPECIALLY of Cil. You two looked so close back then. He was constantly at your hip. I always thought you touched him like this.”
“I mean, I DID do his tattoos. One of them anyway.”
Kohga was careful as he worked, making his motions slow, as if he’d startle Sooga if he moved too fast.
“One? What of the other?”
“He copied the one I did, put it on his other hand.”
“No wonder they always looked so different to me. It lacked the warmth of your style.”
“God you gotta make shit romantic all the time, eh?”
Sooga was so awestruck by the pattern. Lines and curves started to decorate his arms, slowly finding rhyme and reason against his skin.
“I can’t help it. When I’m near you, love is all I think about. You’re...the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“I get that a lot. Usually four times a week.”
He chuckled. After the lines, Kohga painted what looked to be almost like serpents. He was curious.
“What is the meaning of this design?”
“These lines and shit? They represent stability.”
“And the snakes?”
“Means ‘ties that bond’, essentially. It’s...stupid. But my dad had tattoos like these, kinda.”
“I’m honored to share in the resemblance.”
“I’m gonna add more to it though, If I'm gonna be railing that ass, I don’t wanna think about my old man. Old MEN sure, but not mine.”
Sooga chuckled, shaking his head. His Master had SUCH a way with words. he watched as the lines and curved and snakes soon gave way to the classic Yiga symbol. Done as carefully as the first one had been done. He watched as Kohga carefully, and slowly, added what looked like sickles to the symbol.
“Sickles?”
“It’s more or less Yiga branding. To show where your ties are. Case you somehow forget where you belong.”
“Wouldn’t ever. Even if I had amnesia. I would know in my heart where I belong.”
“Sounds like something stupid you’d say. That’s all your stupid, mushy gushy bullshit.”
Kohga added dots, little criss cross designs, and of course-
“Bananas?”
“....because you’re sweet.”
“And you call ME mushy!”
Sooga threw his head back in laughter, which was cut short as Kohga smacked his arm, making Sooga wince.
“Ow! It’s TENDER, dammit!”
“Then quit makin’ me wanna do it! You moron! And it’s...more than just some stupid lovey shit. See how its one, two, and then one?”
“Yes?”
“That’s...us. Us together. We’re more together. Plentiful. That and I might be kinda hungry.”
“Do you need a break?”
“I’m already being romantic, if I stop now I’m not gonna finish, and this tattoo is gonna look ugly as shit.”
“Unlike you.”
Kohga shook his head, scoffing. Absolute idiot. More criss crosses, more dots. Then something Sooga knew immediately.
“Yeah, it’s your weapon, big guy. You remember when you got it?”
“Yes. You gave it to me, upon announcing my new duty of protecting you. It was such an honor. Such blades being crafted, and for ME.”
“You know, I designed it myself.”
Sooga looked at the blades at his hip, then at the red ink. Bright, like the spilled blood of their enemies.
“You did?”
“Yep. You’re...different, Sooga. You needed something that was more than them. I-woah, you okay?”
“Yes, s-sorry. You just. Touched me and...sometimes it makes me jump.”
Kohga chuckled, lightly strumming his thumb over the spot he just touched.
“Right here?”
“....yes. You’re just. You have very soft hands. Always so delicate. It’s why I...I wanted to put a ring on your finger.”
“This again.”
“I’m s-sorry! I just. I just really. Really love you. With all that I am. I wanted to show it to you. But...I think I see what you mean.”
“How so, big guy?”
Sooga paused as Kohga continued his work, cautious as ever.
“You don’t want the traditional means of matrimony. You want to be free. You want to do as you please, and you feel as though a ring in a confine. I make you feel restricted. And for that I’m...sorry.”
Kohga put the needle down, lightly blowing at the ink. He looked down at his work, and even though his ass hurt from sitting down for so long, he was in fact, VERY proud of himself. Long sleeve of red, detailed, careful designs and patterns. Something that meant something to them.
“You know what those last two slashes are?”
“I...no.”
“It means instead of just one strike, you have two. Two weapons, instead of one. It means...you have me. Ring be dammed.”
“Does this mean i...understand you properly?”
Kohga looked up at him, before grabbing his face, and pressing his lips against his. It was an out of the blue kiss, one rough and full of affection Kohga had for him. It lasted only a second, and Sooga missed it right when Kohga pulled away.
“Yeah. You did. I need YOU. I need our lives. I need to exist with you. I don’t need this other crap. I need...what I show you, right here.”
Kohga’s soft fingers slid over his work, and it almost made Sooga shuddered. There was something so tender, so sweet and loving about the touch. Even the way his skin felt raw and sore, it made his heart thud in his chest. Sooga caught Kohga’s hand in his own before it could pull away.
“What if I sold the damn thing, and we went on a vacation? A long one.”
“I’m listening.”
“To some far off land? I’ll pack, I’ll even carry you over every mountain and hill.”
“Hmmmm...not QUITE convinced.”
“I’ll make every beauty of the world feel hideous in your presence.”
“Now THAT’S what I’m talking about. Let’s do it. After THIS has healed, of course.”
“This might heal. But my heart will never, not so long as your gaze stabs it so.”
“This...is gonna be a long vacation. I can’t wait.”
Kohga chuckled, holding onto his shoulders and kissing him again. Just one more time.

LoL Chapter 46- Fractures
Masterpost
A Wizard Hermits tale (AU, designs, ideas belongs to @theguardiansofredland)
The hermits discover it’s not just Dolios feeling the repercussions of their work.
___________________________________________
Litow wasn’t very far for the likes of Cub, even though it was all the way on the other side of Lairyon. In between Kilton and Addows, on the lower peninsula of the crescent shaped kingdom, it was one of the furthest places from Eremita and the Ashioll sea.
But with Cub’s portal magic, and only three other people to teleport, it was no more than a skip, hop, and a jump. Even better, he’s been to Addows before, so he knew exactly where to go with his magic. Doc was the brave first soul to step through the portal and out into the open world, and kept watch while Scar, BDubs, and Cub passed over as well.
Lucky for them, there was very little presence of arcane guard in Addows, and they’ve only passed one patrol along the road since they began their journey. Doc was ready to fight tooth and nail, remind the guard that they aren’t going to be cowardly criminals. But BDubs yanked him into the bush he had created seconds before Doc could get his words out.
It’s been a few weeks since they all became wanted criminals, Lairyon’s most wanted. Admittedly, things have gotten harder. None of them can show their faces at Snapdragon port, which is crawling with guards and Gedeons. All of their suppliers have cut them off. Luckily, they have BDubs’s garden and a whole sea of fish. On their missions, they can’t take main roads, can’t saunter into wherever they’re needed. Even the villages they’ve come to help will meet them with a mix of hope, disdain, and downright hostility. They have to prove themselves as well as battle off husk storms and darkness crystals. Dolios has turned the whole nation against them. He’s turned the heroes into villains.
It wasn’t the entire town of Litow that asked for their help. A single letter, written by a young boy who had heard stories from another group of wizards, of the hermits and their escapades. Scar looks down at the note as they walk, reading over it once more.
The boy’s parents are missing, and even when he tries to use his own magic- very proudly declared to be arbor magic- the forest that Litow sits at the edge of refuses to bend to his will. Most of the village’s magic has disappeared, and now so are its people. At night, howls of creatures keep anyone from leaving their beds, much less their house.
If Scar has ever read a classic evil black crystal infestation, it would be this. For sure the work of Dolios is plaguing this town. “Litow isn’t a small village. It’s no town like Coral Shores or Shellor, but it’s not as little as Gildara either.”
“Dolios is getting stronger.” Doc growls, his shoulders bent forward as he marches down the road. “He’s getting braver, stealing magic from greater sources. He’s leveling up. Next, it’ll be the towns. Then the cities.”
“Doc does have a point. Everyone loves him, no one would suspect it’s Magistrate Dolios causing this corruption across Lairyon.” Cub waves his hand flippantly, as if batting away flies rather than his unfinished thoughts.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t started blaming us for that.” BDubs sighs. “Do you think people are starting to notice that this is happening? Do you think news has spread about the darkness?”
“If it is, then the Council is surely stifling it.” Cub picks up a rock, holding it in the palm of his hand. Beneath the stone, blue embers of magic curl and twist into his magic circle, and a second later the rock is gone. A parlor trick, but still fun for Cub. “But they can’t stop ideas from growing, and it’s clear from this letter that news is getting around. About the dark magic and us.”
The quad rounds a bend, the road meandering with the creek bed, turning and guiding them to the interface of forest and field. At the edge of the two environments, Litow sits. Three hermits stop, and Doc reaches out to grab BDubs and yank him back from proceeding as the others take initial notes of the mission before them.
Litow seemed to still have it’s color, though one building nearest to the forest edge has become entangled in the grey wisps, slowly being claimed, siphoned of life. The town still held it’s people, bustling as if nothing was wrong, continuing to cut lumber and plant trees in an everlasting cycle of give and take.
Scar takes a step back, not sure if he wants to test his luck with a bunch of Lumberjacks. If they preferred Dolios’s story, he can just imagine the damning blow their axes could deal, with or without magic. Scar rubs his neck nervously, glancing to Doc.
Doc keeps moving. He holds his head high as they enter the town, meeting the lingering gazes as they walk past. Daring anyone who even thinks of turning them in to face his wrath. And while most people don’t say a thing, the others can all tell the lumberjacks are thinking it.
But one brave lumberjack dares to step between Doc and the shadowed forest edge. She places her hands on her hips, tall enough that Even Doc has to look up. “Yer kind ain’t allowed here. Git before I call the guard on you. Could pay for all the lost work we’ve had lately.”
“We’re here to help that!” BDubs chitters, though he’s quaking in his sandals. “I mean, not the work thing directly, but we can bring your magic back!”
“I ain’t listening to no lies from a buncha mercenaries. If the magistrate don’t trust ya, I don’t either.” The lumberjack hefts her axe onto her shoulder, the blade as wide as Scar’s chest. Even Doc decides it’s best not to pick a fight, and retreats from the town.
“Well now what do we do?” Cub questions, watching the timber town return to work, though not without keeping an eye on the four outsiders.
“Psst! Hey! Over here!” The men turn, and see a boy more than halfway out a window of a log cabin, waving with a toothy grin. As they near, the boy chatters excitedly. “Oh I’m so glad you came my best friend’s sister saw you guys in Danes and when I saw what was happening here I knew I should get a letter to you guys. My aunt Bethy thinks yer a buncha thugs but i know the truth my parents always said I was smart!”
The boy points over to the forest, the tangle of trees and bushes, most of it sapped of life by dark magic. “My family’s house is all sad and grey now, but it wasn’t like that until recently. Before, we just thought it was the forest preparing for winter early.”
“So the crystal must be in the forest.” Cub notes, looking at the canopy of trees, green canopies marred by grey tendrils, sprouted up into an ashen cloud. The boy nods, earning a sincere pat on the head from Scar. “Thanks kiddo, you’re our hero today.”
The group leaves their tiny informant and the town that doesn’t want them behind, and BDubs uses his own plant magic to crest a path through the foliage. They pass by young trees, growing tall with the aid of the arbor mages and their familiars, logs freshly cut with the sap still flowing like blood, and stumps of the felled, waiting to be reclaimed or burned to make way for new life.
They’ve become used to the sensation of a dark crystal, the pressure exerted on their bodies, their magic. Doc can even use it to guide them in the right direction, when the tension ebbs and when it grows, until they come across a tree. The behemoth of an oak tree twists it’s roots, dirt hollowed out by animals and time, creating a burrow just big enough for a crystal to be nestled inside. It’s a shame, Scar sighs, that something used for evil has been placed where skavader would normally raise their young. How it destroys the environment, leaving nothing but death behind. “Let’s destroy this magical menace.”
Scar raises his hands, magic circles already cast. When he attempts to cast the spell, however, he finds his arms are immobile. No matter how hard his mind screams at his hands to move, they’re frozen in place.
A snap of a twig sends Doc and the others skittering for a fight, while Scar whimpers pathetically at his unmoving appendages. Movement catches BDubs’s eyes, and he launches a whipping vine to capture whatever he saw. But the ivy is met by fire, coiling around, igniting leaves aflame. When BDubs refuses to let go, then the opponent on the other end of the whip takes control, and the plant wizard is thrown into the air, an screaming arc over the trees and on the other side of Idelens and her crew.
The Council guildmaster lets go of the charred vine, wiping her hands free of the stained ash. Behind her, husks appear from the woodwork, their shifting grey bodies and gaunt faces like ragdolls, toyed around by dark magic. A bolt of dark lightning creases through the stormcloud hovering above them. A husk storm. Idelens may be in charge, but she’s not in control.
The master of Midas’ Medallions straightens the severe bun on her crown, not a single hair out of place. “You and your friends have been such a thorn in the Council’s side. Not mine, but you have made everyone else quite unhappy. Especially Magistrate Dolios. He’s quite displeased that the others have been failing their duties.”
“You say that like we give a damn.” Doc sneers, watching the husks circle around them. Men and beasts, wyverns and wizards, farmers and feathered serpents.
“Oh, but you should care about anything I say, because what I say goes. And I say what better way to remind everyone why I’m the best guildmaster, why I determine the S-Class trials, is by removing a few thorns from the rosebush.” She snaps her fingers, and in the short burst of sound in the forest, several things happen at once.
First, the husks attack. Lunging at the hermits, teeth and spells ablaze. All vying to rip the hermits limb from limb, or force them to join the ranks of husks, sapping their lifeforce and stealing their magic. Just like what happened in Danes.
Second, Idelens’s magic takes hold. Sprites of magenta swirl and dance from her fingers, seeking out the hermits and embedding themselves like burrs to their skin. Cub’s knees quake, struggling to keep him standing. All his strength sapped like he’s ran a marathon, though his magic remains strong. Scar trips trying to run away from the bright bursts of energy, as if he needed the vertigo the magenta magic bestows upon him.
Third, Doc casts his own magic, his consciousness leaping out of his body just before the debuffing magic can steal his strength, and into BDubs instead, trapped on the other side of the husk horde. He feels little concern with controlling his friends- he’s sure BDubs will understand.
Through BDubs’s eyes, Doc can see all three instances, as well as his own body teetering lamely at the center. He’s woefully vulnerable, and every husk knows that his corporeal body is just begging to be attacked. So when a mage turns their magic on him, he turns BDubs on it. Slamming the plant wizard’s hands down on the ground, roots rise from the earth like massive snakes of wood, twisting around Doc’s body and encasing it in a capsule. Doc forces BDubs to his feet, verdant eyes trained on the guildmaster as she watches. Watches Scar and Cub struggle to fight with their strength and coordination gone, and not watching her back.
Doc forgets how weak regular humans can be. He’s used to his tough green skin, and his mechanical prosthetics. He shoves Idelens off her feet with a body check, bruising pain shooting up BDubs’s body. The pain threatens to push Doc free from his host, but Doc keeps a firm grip on the controls. Idelens stumbles forward, and before she can regain her composure, Doc brings a tree down on top of her.
It should have killed her. He meant for it to kill her, but she still had tricks up her sleeve. Magic swirls across her skin, showing that she buffed herself before being brought to the dirt by the tree. Pinned beneath the trunk, Idelens whines to anyone who will listen. At this point, Doc thinks she just likes hearing herself talk.
“Do you know how annoying the other guildmasters have gotten? How many problems you have caused us?” She spits, trying to push the tree off. Doc, still controlling BDubs, glances up, but sees that her magic has left Cub and Scar. She needed to focus on not getting crushed. “Sidero is such a whiny brat, taking all his anger out on me just cause no one cares about his stupid inferiority complex! His guild wasn’t anything special to begin with! The Gadai are losing partnerships and trade deals left and right, which is making Okui all pissy because she can’t have all her nice things anymore! Gluttonous whore. And don’t get me started on Eros!”
“Like I said before, I really don’t care.” Doc starts to let go of BDubs, to return to his body and finish things off, but Idelens is far from finished.
“You should, because it’s all your fault! You’re ruining the Council! Dolios blames us for not working hard enough to stop you, which is why I’m going to have to clean up all your fucking mess. Because apparently I’m the only one who can babysit these idiots and actually get things done!” With a burst of strength, Idelens kicks through the tree, sending BDubs flying once more and knocking Doc back into his own body.
It takes the puppeteer a second to remember how to control his own body. A portal appears beneath his feet, freeing him from his own confinement. “Welcome back, brother.” Cub hums, splicing a husk in two with a simple open and close of another rift. “We’ve got the ashen abominations, you deal with her.”
Doc turns, facing down the guildmaster. He remembers her face so vividly, so perfect and coy. When he ran the S-Class trials, she was worse than almost any challenge she threw his way. He’d like to give her a taste of her own medicine.
He casts his circle, alarming Idelens. She buffs herself, preparing for him to attempt to take control of her body. But he was bluffing. And she fell for it. While she’s busy casting her spell, he uses his own brute force, punching her in the jaw and into a muddy puddle. The golden tassel of her dress drags through the mud, the dirt making it nigh impossible to tell that she’s a Council mage. To Doc, there is no difference. Bones still break the same.
He pulls free his knife, marching forward. He doesn’t stop, even as Idelens frantically casts her magenta magic once more. Even when it slows him down, to the pace of a tortoise, he doesn’t stray from his intended target.
Idelens scrabbles back, her perfection fracturing. Her perfect dress, stained with mud and ash, locks of brown hair wisping free from her bun. Even her voice no longer carries pride. Only pure, seething rage. “I will kill you, puppeteer. I will kill you for lowering me to the likes of those scum.”
She’s gone before Doc’s knife even has a taste for her blood. He stumbles forward, freed from his slow pace. Scar, BDubs, and Cub return to work destroying the crystal, considering this battle a victory- they fended off Idelens and the husk storm she brought, and they destroyed the dark crystal killing the land.
But to Doc, her words echo in his head. And he knows this wasn’t a victory.
This was just a stalemate.

Good Omens and the prolonged story of Leaving The Garden
Last week I had this weird episode where I felt like my third eye popped WIDE open and I suddenly started making all these loose associations that I believe are nevertheless relevant between Aziraphale’s entire story and his role in the Garden of Eden. I don’t know if other people will find it agreeable, but I became very fixated on it.
Aziraphale, Guardian of the Eastern Gate, formerly on Apple Tree Duty. Guardian of forbidden Knowledge, the Knowledge of good and evil. Comes to Earth and sets up a store full of Knowledge that he doesn’t actually want to sell with his desk on the East side.
Tries to protect the Serpent from his own questions. What if we made our own Side? It doesn’t matter, they’ll kill us for asking that. Tries to keep the Serpent away from his own damn fruit.
Discovers the location of the Antichrist. This, too, is a kind of Forbidden Knowledge; the Antichrist is the key to the war between good and evil, after all, and no angel is supposed to be able to find him. Aziraphale is on Apple Tree Duty again. Struggles with who should rightfully have this information. Should he give it to the Serpent, orchestrator of the Fall of Man and chaos agent who kickstarted everything Aziraphale loves? Or should it be reserved for Heaven, the ostensible “greater good”?
Maybe this dilemma brings up painful old questions. For example, did Crowley’s effective temptation of Eve make Aziraphale a fuckup, a failed angel? If he was put at his post to fail as part of the Great Plan and then he did, was it actually a failure? Would it have been better for the original Knowledge to remain in Heaven’s hands? Is it wrong to prefer life here on Earth, is it wrong to love Crowley, if it means accepting and embracing his own incompetence*, the Fall of Man, and all the horrible things that came thereafter (war, famine, pestilence, pollution, death, traffic)? Who is really responsible for all that? And even assuming humanity’s Fall is part of the Great Plan, what about giving them the sword? Was that part of the Plan, too, or is Aziraphale’s tenure on Earth a punishment for that incident? If that’s the case, then is his protective behavior toward Crowley also wrong?
Anyway, now that he knows where Adam is, Aziraphale once again has Forbidden Knowledge. Is he going to fail in his guardianship again?
Don’t get me wrong. The Serpent is already in the Garden. Part of preserving the Garden is preserving the Serpent. The guardianship part is whether Aziraphale actually allows that one fruit to be plucked from that one tree.
If Aziraphale puts the Knowledge he’s guarding in Heaven’s possession, they can be persuaded to destroy the boy (he thinks). They can cancel the war between Good and Evil. That would effectively maintain the status quo. There would be no leaving the garden.
In a certain way, it would almost, sort of, “cancel”(?) the Fall of the rebel angels, wouldn’t it? It’s far-fetched, but bear with me for a moment. The point of the Fall is this notion that Hell will be a place of disgusting godless castaways for a while and then there will be an eventual reckoning. If Heaven enforces the status quo, protecting the world and the Heaven/Hell duality, then Hell is what it is forever, but it loses the impending doom of possibly being exterminated by Heaven, and Heaven has to concede that Hell belongs in this world. Hell is no longer made of mere castaways; they are openly, if perhaps grudgingly, given a place in the universe. The Fallen angels don’t ascend, so it is not a “reversal” per se, but they get a measure of acceptance (not necessarily friendliness or camaraderie - just acceptance). There are implications of this when Aziraphale says, “We can Save everyone!”
If Aziraphale shares this newfound Knowledge with the Serpent...well. What happens then? They still have no plan. Neither of them wants to destroy the Antichrist, but if they did, they’d still be in trouble. They’d be kicked out of the garden on their own in a hostile universe, and this time there’s nobody to offer a flaming sword for their protection against the angry legions of Heaven and Hell. This is to say nothing of the fates of Adam and Eve’s descendants - their own descendants, in a godparenting sort of way - on Earth. There’d be no way to protect them.
Aziraphale is a guardian. He chooses what he thinks is going to be his best shot at preservation. Aziraphale offers Heaven what he believes is a chance to use their judgment (the forbidden fruit), a chance to avert the war, and they reject it; they want the same prescriptions and myths they’ve always had.
Aziraphale thinks, for a while, maybe there’s a compromise. Maybe the Serpent can earn Heaven’s favor again, or maybe he can escape to the stars completely. Maybe Heaven will battle Hell without destroying Earth. But the Serpent does not want Heaven’s favor, nor does he want to leave the garden without Aziraphale. And Heaven won’t make exceptions for humans. They love their dogma, the prescribed actions; their sense of meaning comes from following prophecies. The only judgment they will follow is judgment that will lead specifically to What Is Written playing out, and What Is Written is the world’s end in fire and flames.
So Aziraphale decides he’s going to have to make a moral judgment for them and try to avert Armageddon. In my opinion, this is one of the key moments when Aziraphale partakes of the forbidden fruit himself**. He makes a judgment even though he’s supposed to leave judgment to Heaven, just as (in some fairly common Biblical interpretations) when Adam and Eve learned the difference between good and evil, they essentially “fired” God because they learned to judge good and evil themselves. (Not trusting God’s judgment is existentially threatening to Her, as Her whole purpose is sort of to be the ultimate judge. Deciding to avert Armageddon, Aziraphale discovers, is existentially threatening to Heaven because it deprives Heaven of what it has always seen as its whole Purpose. I think God and Heaven can both get over it and find other Purposes just like everybody else who gets disappointed sometimes, but that’s for another discussion.)
So but. BUT. Here’s the REALLY GOOD PART.
After Armageddon is thwarted mostly by Adam’s love for his world and with spiritual inspiration from his godfathers, Crowley and Aziraphale find themselves alone in a hostile universe. They’re being chased by metaphorical lions, basically. And who saves them from this hostile world?
Each other, with Adam’s help.
See, Adam gave Aziraphale his corporation back. And Aziraphale kept trying to protect Crowley until the very end. When Crowley assumed it was time to give up on life, Aziraphale threw himself into pushing Crowley to keep trying. When Crowley suggested staying together for the night and for the foreseeable future, Aziraphale reminded him that Heaven was still a danger. And they shielded each other from their Sides - from the wrath of God and Satan alike - with their own bodies, Aziraphale even going so far as to tell Hell they’d better leave Crowley alone from now on.
I’ve heard “Crowley is the Forbidden Fruit” before and it knocks me out every single time. Aziraphale could be said to be the flaming sword who keeps himself and Crowley safe. And Adam Young has become the angel on the gate of Eden who gave it to them.
ASTERISKS:
*“Imagine how terrible it might have been if we’d been at all competent.” Perhaps there would be no Earth at all.
**I’d argue that because it’s a complicated story and involves multiple layers of disentanglement from dogma, Aziraphale in fact has a number of “forbidden fruit” moments. But this is the one that Heaven is most aware of. I like to think of Crowley’s handing over of the books in 1941 as the moment that Aziraphale can’t take back from himself, and the decision to swan-dive out of Heaven as the moment Aziraphale can’t take back from Heaven. It’s almost like...in 1941, Crowley plays the role of Eve, offering Aziraphale something he realizes he wants (Crowley himself) but fears that they’ll both be damned if he accepts. In 2018, he realizes that Heaven’s garden is nowhere he wants to stay, nor is it anywhere that he actually wants to inflict on Earth or Crowley, and so he finally eats the forbidden fruit.

do you ever think about Dark Aang in the Desert and how chilling it is to see him like that, but also, how utterly heartbreaking it is to see that that is the internal pain, bitterness, and anger that Aang has to fight past EVERY SINGLE DAY to serve his duty as the Avatar, that is the grief that he keeps internalized within himself from losing literally everything he’s ever known and loved from his past life and culture in one blow, and it is through all of that that he still manages to be such a kindhearted and gentle soul most of the time??
he has lost all the mentors he once knew and yet, he does his absolute best to emulate all the values he’d been raised with - even though he’s been teased for it, even though he had to figure it out all on his own in a world so drastically different from the one he once knew, even though he must have felt so alone at times, to be so young and have no one living from the Air Nomads to turn to when he needed guidance or simply an understanding ear to listen.
Aang doesn’t get much time to process or properly grieve his loss because of how much pressure is put on him from the immediate get-go, and he pushes his own feelings and pain aside for the sake of what is needed from him of the world. so as a result we, the audience, don’t have much time to dwell on it either. but this episode in the desert (and the Serpent’s Pass episode as well) will always break my heart to watch because it’s that stark contrast from Happy-and-Sweet-Aang after he loses Appa that reminds you that this boy is really just hurting, every single day. Aang’s grief is quiet but it is always there, and most of us don’t even realize it, because he usually puts a smile on his face for everyone else, and will do whatever it takes to put his responsibility first - because that’s just who Aang is. that is how good his spirit is.
anyway this is an Aang appreciation post because i love that boy with my entire being and think he deserves all the love and kindness in the world

Midnight Shift: The Serpent at Burger King - A Seduction of Kevins Summary: The Devil comes disguised as everything you want, Alice Cullen comes with fondue fountains and Bugattis. wc: 1.7k Read on ao3
There was one simple lesson I learned from a young age and quickly internalized while living as a Cullen.
Never play chess with a psychic.
You think a mind reader is a problem? No, you just have to add on geographical distance and then you're back on an equal playing field; as long as you keep apart, you can use your best strategies and winning is still possible. A psychic though, there is no distance you can go to be hidden from their sight. Once they get their teeth in you, your odds at winning are – for a lack of a better word – shit. So, as I held Alice's gaze at our local Burger King, I reminded myself this one very important rule.
Never play chess with a psychic.
Too late.
If you did find yourself playing chess with a psychic, the best course of action would be to become irrational and flip the board. You might not win, but neither would they and you'd save yourself the effort. I took a deep breath and assessed the situation. There were currently five humans with ten pairs of working human eyes at the restaurant; flipping the board would be disastrous, either people would die or they'd bear witness to vampiric activity. So that's out of the question, next strat.
Though Alice had gotten used to reading around the blind spots caused by me, she hadn't totally mastered it yet. My best choice was to act without thinking and take over the conversation as much as possible. That, well, that I could manage no problem.
"Well, well, well. What do you have to say for yourself, Mr. Assistant Manager?" I addressed Gay Kevin, hoping to also neutralize Jasper. Mr. Emotional Roofie was another obstacle here, trying to goad my coworkers so that they emotionally overwhelm him was my best shot. "Showing up two hours late to your shift with no warning?"
Gay Kevin looked exhausted.
"Please, not in front of the customers," he sounded embarrassed. Not Kevin snorted and took the interruption as an opportunity to make Milkshake boy his drink and get away from Alice. Meanwhile, Straight Kevin hopped over the counter and directly headed towards the old fries – if we didn't do our duty to eat them, they would be thrown out.
I also took notice of the guy that came in with the Kevins; he was shorter than Gay Kevin but slightly taller than Straight Kevin, he had thick black hair, but more importantly, he carried a video camera with him. He observed us, brown eyes full of amusement, and I sincerely hoped he was a vlogger.
"They aren't customers," I chirped with a predatory smile.
"I am a one though," Milkshake boy frowned. I waved him off.
"You're Not Kevin adjacent. You don't count," Gay Kevin looked increasingly irritated despite Jasper's attempt at giving chill vibes. He crossed his arms.
"So, what's this? You decide to throw a party while I was gone?"
I was about to retort when Alice interrupted me. I glared.
"There IS a party involved, but not here and not right now. Alice Cullen, nice to meet you, I'm –"
"Resentment's sister," Alice scrunched up her nose but nodded.
"Yup! And I came here to personally invite you, other Kevin, and Not Kevin to Nessie's party"
"You said you were born on 9/11," Straight Kevin's said accusingly with a mouth full of fries.
"It's not a birthday party," Alice tried to clarify, only to be drowned out by Not Kevin.
"You were born on 9/11?" I turned to address him and realized he was making Milkshake boy a chocolate shake, ruining all the hard work I put into my performance. Today was definitely not my day.
"I mean, yeah, but not like 9/11 9/11. I'm only 16," Not Kevin nodded but then his eyes widened as a realization seemed to hit him.
"Oh fuck. I forgot that was 20 years ago…"
"I wasn't even born 20 years ago," Straight Kevin added and it seemed to act as a punch to Not Kevin's gut.
"God, you guys are babies. I remember my parents picking me up from kindergarten early and being glued to the news for the rest of the day," Gay Kevin's statement also appeared to have a negative effect on Not Kevin, making him look even more miserable. Camera man looked like there was no place he rather be. Alice, well, she looked endlessly irritated.
"I feel so old" Not Kevin whispered, shell-shocked.
"You are old. What are you, like 50?" Not Kevin glared at me.
"What's 9/11?"
I blinked. Everyone went quiet and stared at Milkshake boy, who looked very confused. No one spoke for a full beat.
"Jack's 19 and, uh, Canadian," Not Kevin shrugged helplessly and said as if that explained everything. He handed the kid his milkshake.
"Hey, I thought there weren't any Oreos –"
"ANYWAY," Alice said loudly and we all looked at her, "it's not a birthday party. It's more like a celebration of Nessie's first job. Our family would love to have all of you for dinner"
"She means that we'd love to have you at the event. Not that we want to eat you for dinner," Jasper added unnecessarily and made me want to face palm. So, I did.
"I wasn't worried about possible cannibalism when she said it, but now I am," Straight Kevin took a wary step away from Jasper. Alice rolled her eyes.
"There will be plenty of free food and you can take as many leftovers as you want with you," Straight Kevin seemed to seriously consider this.
"I'm in," Alice handed him a pink envelope and smiled. Fuck.
Improvise.
"Speaking of customers. We have one right now," I pointed at Camera man, "so we can't deal with you right now," I tried to push Alice out the store but she held her ground.
"I'm also not a customer," he shrugged, "I came for the rats"
Shit.
"Tài…don't do this" Gay Kevin pleaded.
"My hands are tied. I promised my audience," so he was some sort of vlogger. This was admittedly the only good thing that has happened today.
"See, he's not a customer. I can stay," I groaned at Alice's smug tone.
"Technically, you're both loitering. So, neither of you should stay"
"I agree with the Assistant Manager"
Alice and I stared down at each other while Camera man and Gay Kevin had a silent conversation with their eyes. For the next while, the only sounds that could be heard in the restaurant were Straight Kevin loudly chewing, Milkshake boy slurping, and Olivia Rodrigo's drivers license playing on the speakers.
Suddenly, Not Kevin snapped his fingers, drawing our attention to him.
"You know, it occurs to me that since both Kevins are finally here, I can take my break. Come on Jack, I'm taking you home," he quickly made his way around the counter and grabbed Milkshake boy. "I'll make sure to call if I'm somehow two hours late," I smirked at Alice as her eyes narrowed. I greatly encouraged any action that made her look like that.
Milkshake boy tilted his head and didn't let himself be dragged out of the joint. I had half a mind to help Not Kevin.
"But dad said to –"
"Your dad will be ok with this as long as you don't set the house on fire. Again" Milkshake boy frowned.
"It happened once. I said I was sorry"
"Yeah, yeah. Come on bud, time's ticking"
Finally, that seemed to get Milkshake boy moving and heading to the door.
"Don't forget your invite!" Alice called out.
"We're good," Not Kevin responded with a hand on the door and the other pulling the teen along.
"Did I mention there will be a fondue fountain?"
Not Kevin hesitated by the door and I could only feel horror as my stomach dropped. Not Kevin was weak for cheese and cheese related by-products.
"Chocolate or cheese?"
"Both," I held my breath. It wasn't fair, it wasn't fucking fair.
"Shame, I'm on a diet"
"You aren't –"
And they were both gone before Milkshake boy could finish calling out Not Kevin's blatant lie. I fist bumped the air and stuck my tongue out at Alice, fully intending to gloat over this minor victory.
That is, until I saw Alice smiling.
Fucking psychics.
"What's got you so smug," I snarked, hoping to get a hint of whatever vision she just had. She smirked and I could tell she could see right through me. So much for not playing chess with psychic.
"I had a sudden revelation that everything will be alright," her eyes twinkled with mischief and, not for the first time, I was very jealous of Edward. Why the fuck did he get the mind reading powers? Tactile thought projection was so stupid and useless the majority of the time.
"You're so fucking annoying"
"I prefer the term persistent," I'd prefer if she was set on fire. "Which reminds me, hey boys"
Camera man and Gay Kevin stopped doing whatever the hell they were doing and paid attention to Alice, who was holding up one her dumb little pink envelopes.
"What do you say, a chance to eat fancy rich people food and see some fancy rich people cars," Camera man turned to Gay Kevin.
"Babe"
"Is this like, appropriate. Professionally speaking," Gay Kevin scrunched up his nose trying to figure out the etiquette of this weird ass situation.
"I'm more than happy to take you guys on a spin in my brand-new Bugatti"
"Babe"
"Why does this feel like bribery?" Gay Kevin narrowed his eyes at Alice, he seemed incredibly suspicious.
"Because it is," I growled and attempted to set Alice on fire with my stare.
"And I fully admit it. I just want to throw a good party, and guest are a very important part," she stretched out her hand towards Camera man, "think about it, that's all I ask"
Camera man and Gay Kevin shared a look, and Camera man grabbed the envelope. Ugh.
"Wonderful! Remember to R.S.V.P., we'll leave you to it," she waved and grabbed Confederate hubby.
They walked away and I could hear Alice speak, her voice far too low for human ears, but just the right volume for me.
"There's been a change of plans, we're meeting up Esme"
I scowled. I knew it was bait, I knew Alice wanted me to hear her, and it was driving me insane. Why would they need to see Esme? Why would Alice want me to know this?
I fucking hated my life.

Avenging Riverdale: Riverdale x Avengers/ Sweet Pea x OC!Tony Stark’s Daughter. My Reaction After Completing it and A Year Of Working On It.
Tumblr media
This will include spoilers to my fanfic her is the link if you want to read it:
Avenging Riverdale
Masterlist
One paragraph is one chapter.
(not a chapter) Im going to be honest, in my mind their are two sections of Avenging Riverdale. Before my Brain Surgery and after because if you have read my fanfic all the way though, Author Notes and all, you know that I had to stop writing Avenging Riverdale for awhile so that I could focus on healing from that.
A trigger warning, good. Two part cast. Prologue. Tally is in deep shit. Steve picked her up and took her hungover ass to the living room. To Riverdale she goes. The horrible fake screenshots. I stopped doing that though because I couldn't find one for a group chat. Her and Tony's fights are rough. She snuck out to a soup kitchen. I feel bad for abandoning that. Cap found out. Tony put a tracker on her. Wtf but they are getting along. Now the Avengers are worried tho. They are shook they are getting along. After her dad became Iron Man things went downhill in her life.
Welcome to Riverdale. 'Murcia is Cap's group chat name. Short Stark is Tally's and Deadpool just got in it. His is World's Biggest Cry Baby. Peter's explanation of how he knows Deadpool is the most Gen Z thing ever. MJ is Tally's Slut. Tally is MJ's Bitch. Hello Cheryl Blossom.
Bucky has been eating Tally's cereal. She's acting betrayed. Veronica is surprised she didn't kill him. She heard someone mispronounce her name. She corrected them. Betty Copper. Kevin Keller. Kevin is fan-girling. She has blueberries. Jade Keller. Jade is trying to hate on her and her family. Cat Andrews. Jade is dragging her by the wrist while Cat is acting like this is a completely normal thing. Andre Clayton. Jade and Tally would've made a great couple. God damn my crush on Malachi and Sweet Pea. Andre is questioning why Jade just kidnapped Thalia Stark amd why she's at Riverdale High. Tally is questioning why there are so many redheads.
Betty warning Tally about Jade. Song writing with her new friends, Jade, Cat and Andre. She's allergic to roses. She doesn't want to talk about her family problems. The Welcome Back Dance. Archie Andrews. Jade and Tally are dancing together. I swear to god my gay-dar is broken. She rejected Reggie Mantle.
MJ being possessive on insta. Thalia punched Reggie Mantle. It's so weird looking back and seeing Tally not know what's going on her mom. Bucky trying to be a supportive boo. The first mention of Nick St. Clair. Her telling Jade what happened. Jason Blossom's body being found.
Omg, I published chapter 5 for 100 reads. That seems so long ago now that the book is almost at 45k reads. Tony and Pepper are getting married.... I didn't get them married until Endgame. Tony and Tally are going to Pop's. She is not at liberty to answer the question of whether or not she jacker War Machine's suit just so he would do the macarena without a lawyer. Bucky, it's her job to make you feel old.
Hydra nightmare. She's talking to her dad about the nightmare. Then she was like now that we had a hard time going down to the basement to tinker. Whether she wants to admit her or not I wrote her a lot like her dad. Malachi. Malachi obviously cares about Tally. Malachi knows that Nick St Clair hurt Tally. They had sex. I'll be honest with you, I wasn't sure if in the end she was going to end up with Malachi or sweet pea at this point I was still debating it. Malachi kept her hair brush.
Tony just apologized to her for pushing. Jade just stole her for a minute. Malachi left hickeys. I love Tally and Bucky's relationship. Tally is Pepper's maid of Honor. Tony's cooking?
Jade now knows about Malachi. Veronica brought roses in his school and Tally starred sneezing. Tally telling Reggie I don't need the Avengers to kick your ass.
Kevin knows about Malachi now. Nat as chasing Bucky. I love how tally is a moderator for these little fights. Tony is going to spar with Tally, he's going to get his ass kicked so hard. Bucky that $50 on tally. Cap betted $50 on Tony saying that her emotions would get the best of her. Tally won. But Tony is blowing it off like oh I let you win. Thalia Stark got a pep rally who would ever see the day. Tally thinks her dad's hiding something from her. Jughead expected her to have a stick at her ass. I love tally I really miss writing her. It's because of lines like Tony Stark is my dad, iron Man's just suit that just really make me miss her.
That was really sweet and it almost made me cry I forgot I wrote that part. Cheryl just got arrested for lying. Tally proving her genius. Reggie asked her on a date.
The Avengers just found out she's going on a date, they're not exactly happy well, the male Avengers aren't especially since she punched the guy in the face. Pepper is getting emotional. Cap answered the door. Mantle is shook. After the date, he dropped her at home and closed the door before he had a chance to kiss her.
Reggie mantle trying to slut shame tally. She is pissed, she ran into that boy's locker room. She's threatening to expose his dick pics. Which he thinks that it matters that she's not in New York anymore when she's the one with all the security clearance and she's Thalia fucking Stark. The extra points she got just because Reggie met The Avengers. Everyone keeps reminding her murder is illegal. Tally wants to destroy his car, Nat is like go for it and everyone's like Nat, no do not influence her to do this. Rhodey it doesn't think Tony should be supporting her in this. She got her revenge. Mantle is pissed, just actually wanted it. Her dad had a screaming match with the principal.
Malachi is starting to miss her. Toni Topaz. Sweet Pea. Fangs Forgarty. FP Jones. Beck Oliver. And Sweet Pea's nickname is born, Sunflower. Toni loves her. Mantle tried to apologize, but it was a shit apology so she blew him off.
The drive-in is being bought. Malachi wants me to come over after school. Malachi asked her out. He's giving her time to think about it. Family dinner.
Really bad nightmare. Then she had a panic attack because of the nightmare. Tony got pops burgers for breakfast.
Malachi and tally are officially in a relationship. The meeting of the New York friends and the Riverdale friends. Her dad's wearing an iron Man onesie. Steve is wearing Captain America pajamas. Clint is wearing a big bird onesie. Her dad is leaving from New York tomorrow to present an invention and wants her to go.
She is staying in Riverdale. Her dad asked her to stay away from The lodges. Tally you telling off Cheryl. Steve you fucking snitch. Talking about Tally's pranks. Peter is worried about her.
The accords. Tony wants her opinion on it. She thinks it's the most stupid idea ever. The governor wants her to sign it but she's refusing to. He doesn't want her to sign it either. She knows more about her mother than he's talking about. Honestly it is so weird looking back at this and having her mom not being revealed like this.
The accords meeting. Tally just walked out of school to be there. Tony knows he fucked up.
Rest in peace Peggy Carter my queen. Yes Nick, help her stop the fight in a Target parking lot. Tally is such a mom. When tally even bosses the King around, threatening to reveal his internet browser history. She just compared them all the toddlers. She just met Ant-man. Ruby Lodge is her mother.
Ruby Lodge also happens to be Hiram Lodge's little sister. Tally was born in Riverdale. I really abandoned the UN plot line.
Her and Jade are going to sing at the variety show. Take A Hint for the audition tho with Mantle in the crowd. Josie wants to talk to her alone. Veronica is pissed she didn't her they were cousins. Dinner party at the Pembroke.
Deadpool. After the variety show her and Deadpool are on the roof eating chimichangas. She's helping Betty look for her sister. She's going to go clubbing with Veronica, Kevin, Jade, and mantle. Cap is really easy lie to. Malachi is there and he's cheating on her.
She called Malachi a dirty mouthed whore. She just got a package from the Ten Rings. PROJECT INTERMISSION. right now she's thinking Hydra in the 10 rings are working together. She can't go to Polly's baby shower because she's doing some investigating of her own.
Soup kitchen talking to the serpents. Tony just asked what's the tea. Tony has so much faith in his daughter taking over Stark industries it's so sweet. Her and Cheryl are starting over because tally gave her some really good advice about being a female daughter getting ready to become a CEO.
Another letter from the 10 rings. Chuck is back. Jugheads surprise party. I forgot I put Cat's bibble addiction in here. The ones that watched Victorious will know what I'm talking about. I think Tally's birthday present is the best one he is received for a while. Cheryl wanted to know about the scars on her back during the game of secrets and she even it was like exposed herself basically she really didn't care though. To the Southside with Sweet Pea.
They really want to challenge Tally at call of duty. They're playing never have I ever. Toni knows about what happened.
Her mom was a serpent, and she went to the serpent's for help. Everyone is surprised that tally is a serpent by blood.
Her father told the truth. Jade scares Joaquin. That's cute, Sweet Pea thinks he can be tally in a game of pool.
She won. And sweet pea is confused why she is open about almost everything but her ex. They had sex. Tally is saying that they can't date because of everything that's going on and she doesn't want to put him in danger. Tally is in deep shit.
Tony and Tally had a big fight. Tony's kind of suspicious of tally right now because she's been acting off. Steve heard something about project intermission. Tally is terrified that Hydra is going to kidnap her.
They're still asking about project intermission. FP was just arrested for the murder of Jason blossom. They're holding an intervention for tally because they're worried about her. Malachi what are you doing there I don't remember this.
He regrets cheating on her. Malachi can read her like an open book. The blackmailed him into cheating. Tally just save Fred's life I forgot that's how she gets kidnapped. Alice Cooper is Thalia's godmother. She's dead. I wrote this and I'm about to cry. Someone stole the body. Project intermission.
Tony freaked out at the mention of the 10 rings. She's alive. The Avengers are finding out what happened with Nick St Clair.
Jade really just spilled everything to them I mean I would too if meant getting my best friend back but still. Tony went to go see Malachi. Malachi said he was more afraid of tally than he is of Tony. But he's still told him a lot.
Tally has powers. Thalia is so sarcastic I love her. Tally was able to send a message to them. By the time they got there the Hydra base was in flames and she was walking out of it. They forced her to go to the hospital where everyone was waiting. Tony tried to keep her in her in the hospital room but she was like no❤️.
The sexual tension between her and Sweet Pea tho. Interview by Sheriff Keller. Welcome home party. The Whyte Wyrm. Sweet Pea wants a slurpee. Toni accidentally ate a weed brownie.
Fangs has skittles in his jacket? FRIDAY you sassy AI. Movie night code red. Tangled vs The Conjuring. Nat has Thor in a choke hold. I always forget that Rapunzel's name translates to Lettuce. They all suggest movies and fight it out. First one is Sweet Pea vs Tally. I FORGOT I BROKE THE FOURTH WALL. Tally won. Tony is having a talk with Sweet Pea. Tally doesn't think Hydra is done. Imma be honest I don't remember most of this because the close it get to when I had my surgery the more fucked my memory became.
Reggie is calling her the walking dead. Swalia date. This is going to be adorable.
The memes tho. They ended up watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Things got heated then Tony texted tally. Her and her dad ended up working on the Impala when she got home. Tally told Reggie to fuck off. Her adoption papers came in so that she will legally be Pepper's kid. Archie's an idiot.
I love Pepper. Sweet Pea and Tally are officially dating. Jade and Kevin are freaking out. Her dad is freaking out not like Jade and Kevin. Cat is pissed at her brother. Bulldogs and Serpents showed up. Jade, Cat, Veronica and Tally stopped the fight. She headed to Sweet Pea's.
My fake insta posts were the best. Beck, Fangs and Sweet Pea just got arrested. Nick St Clair is coming to town. Mantle vandalized her locker. Apparently the same thing happened to her mom. She's not going to talk about Nick St Clair.
Tally telling Archie to keep an eye out for Nick St. Clair. Date night with Sweet Pea. He took he took her their hideout. She's contemplating filing a police report on Nick St Clair. They had sex in a treehouse.
Nick St. Clair is back. Veronica doesn't know shit. She finally told her dad. She going to report him. She told Veronica. Veronica confronted him at the party and now everyone at the party knows. She went to SVU. Then she went to MJ's.
They are going to arrest him at the open house. He has been arrested.
No more secrets? Holy shit. She now knows Alice Cooper is her God Mother. Really Tony? Why did you call her out in front of everyone? You could've just talked to her. He wants her to see a therapist. St Clair had a bail hearing. No bail. Southside High was raided. When he only like Sweet Pea because he's taller than Cap. Tally didn't realize it. Drag Race. Malachi vs Tally. Bucky is so chill about it.
(So Chapter 47. Is the where you guys find out that I am having surgery) Sweet Pea finds out about Malachi. Sweet Pea feels betrayed, angered. They're having a fight. Sweet Pea is afraid that because she kept this one secret EX from him the next thing you know she'll be cheating on him. Tally just told him I don't want anyone else. They said I love you. The drag race. Tally won fair and square but Malachi still thinks she cheated. Tony scheduled the appointment.
Apparently you can't teach Thor how to cook. Tally isn't allowed in Asgard. Tally just called Vision a toaster. And in response Tony said don't call your little brother a toaster.
Family dinner. Everyone is there. Sweet Pea just got there. Thalia is the moderator. Nick Fury scares him. They are grilling him. Mario Kart tournament. Cap won.
Sweet Pea sending her bad pick up lines. MJ approves. Jughead asked for a favor. FP is getting out of prison.  Sweet Pea and Tally are talking about their future. (This is the last chapter I published before my surgery)
FP's retirement party. Tally inviting Sweet Pea to the Avenger's Christmas party and New Years Eve party and everyone else.
Her first appointment. Afterwards she went to the Wyrm. FP wants to talk to her. Tally has a spare key.
Social media special.
Trial of Nick St Clair. He lost.  Southside High has been shut down. Jade's period is late. Jade is pregnant. Welcome to Riverdale High Southside Serpents. Mantle being a dick.
The uniforms. Message from Hydra, her mom is alive.
She's known. (Srry, this is when my short term memory was hell so I don't remember it.) Her mother is a hydra agent and was using Tony. She even talked to her when she was kidnapped. FP isn't happy that Ruby lied to them all.
Sweet pea trying to stand up for tally when Jughead was trying to use her Fame for peaceful protest now that's awesome but Tally's okay with this because it's a peaceful protest and something she agrees with and told him it's okay. They bugged his trailer. They have the tesseract from Odin's Vault testing against Tally's blood panel. It keeps calling her name.
Even though they told her not to tell sweet pea she did. Peaceful protest. The statue had no head the next day and tally woke up with a fever, despite the super soldier serum. And she has a fever. Bruce thinks it's because of the tesseract because they have similar energy they're fighting dominance. Next day she's feeling better, and is being questioned by the sheriff.
Foreshadowing much. She's realizing that she was born to her mother just become hydras soldier. Tally's idea is that well her mom's playing chess they have to play poker. Sunnyside is getting evicted.
Her mother is at the Wyrm. Hello Ruby Lodge. That was intense. Tally just thanked Pepper for being her mom. FP trust her.
Veronica's confirmation. Jughead and Betty found the head. Back at the Wyrm. Tall boy was the one who did it. Going to Lodge Lodge.
I think that's an accurate description of Cheryl. Jughead had to reassure them that everything was fine. The Jughead Veronica kiss. They get to stay in Sunnyside trailer park.
Hiram Lodge bought the Riverdale register. The break-in. They decide to go after tally instead of Veronica because you know she's a Stark. That was a mistake because they isolated her and her room and she was able to overpower one of them and take their shotgun away. She also paged her dad. Hiram Lodge owns pops. Ethel dumped a whole strawberry milkshake on Veronica. Reggie being a dick. Ruby Lodge broke into sweet peas trailer talk to him.
Ruby wants to make a deal. Basically what happened with Malachi where he cheated to protect his sister. Ruby said she wants to make sure her daughter is dead inside. Cheryl's missing. Sweet pea has been distant. Sweet Pea is drinking away sorrows. And he cheated to protect his little sister and his mom.
Jade slapped him. Tony is there. Fangs sent her a photo of Sweet Pea cheating. She's questioning everything. The Avengers want to kick his ass. She went to his trailer. Swalia is over until they get their shit together. Carrie The Musical.
She went to Malachi. She went there for help but they ended up sleeping together. They agreed to be one time thing. The plan started, Malachi would pick her up from the musical the opening night. Ruby stopped them, saying she would kill Malachi if she didn't go with her. into which Malachi admits that he still loves her. But she loves sweet pea. The tranqed her and she woke up in a chair. 5 months later she was in Sweden by herself safe and sound. What you saw an article about Archie Andrews being questioned for a murder. And she thought she might have evidence for it or could get it so she's going back to Riverdale. Then flashback 5 months ago Tony's point of view, Malachi showed up to the school after Midge was murdered. Tally is prime suspect right now. She killed a hydra agent. Then 5 months later. Tony is a pops when he sees his daughter walk in with blonde hair.
She got lectured from Steve about running off for 5 months. She wants to tent city. Her and Sweet Pea had a good to talk. Ruby Lodge.
She just wants to talk. Ancient Norse prophecy. Tony asked Thor and he gulped. There is a prophecy and Thor and Loki believe it to be about Tally. Odin agrees. In the final battle she dies. Thornhill.
Ghoulies. Malachi questioning Penny Peabody's motives and then putting the fear of Tally. Jughead wondering what that was about. The iCarly reference though. "If you ever do that again you're grounded for... Till college." "For till college?" "For till college!"
(So the reason I kind of stopped doing the Instagram post was because after my surgery I kind of just lost all creative initiative to do it.) The video tally turned in was ruled of questionable origin. Thalia Stark is under arrest. I don't remember this plot line. They don't have a very solid case. Matt Murdock, Tally's lawyer, wants to push the case to New York. Charges were dropped thanks to Nicholas fury. Archie pleaded guilty, Malachi is leaving. He wants to see her before he leaves. Tally told him he would hold a special place in her heart. Riverdale high, next day.  They want to get Hiram Lodge arrested.
Sweet Pea and Tally are talking about what happened and Tally finally said what's been running through her head. Thalia is Jade's child's godmother. She told Jade about the prophecy.
Tony is acting weird at The mention of a game that hit Riverdale. Ghoulie hideout with Penny and Ruby. She scared the shit out of Penny Peabody. Veronica's grand opening. Tally is willing to let Sweet Pea try to earn her trust back. They kissed... No, they had sex. The manual.
Flashback episode. Secrets and sins. tally roasting her father. Ruby and Hiram arguing. The Ascension party. Tony basically explained everything to his daughter.
Sweet peas playing the game that Tony told her not to and she asked him not to. She said if you can please playing the game the deal is off so he said well done the deal is off and walked out. She's heartbroken. Archie prison fight club. When Sweet Pea and Tally got married she found out she was pregnant. Sweet Pea's name is this is Nathan Mantle. In the end they had 3 kids. Nick St. Clair got killed by the Swedish Mafia. She is the Iron Daughter.
Overall, I'm going to admit I don't remember writing half of this story because of my brain surgery and I was working on it during this. I love this story, it is my first time reading it all at once but I am partial to it because I worked on it for almost a full year and is the first Riverdale x Avengers crossover fic on wattpad. There is somethings I was contemplating, like who she was going to end up with, if she was going to die in the first snap or not. I was also going to do a part where she goes into hiding with Harley from Iron Man 3 and works as a waitress in a little diner as a cover, saying she's Harley's cousin, wearing a wig and contacts but I felt that'd make the story too long. But there are a few things I'm iffy about so 9/10.

Ordinary Part 2-Sweet Pea Imagine
As requested by the lovely @laurastrutz here’s part two, to Ordinary.
Part One
Part Three
Athena would never say being pregnant was easy, seeing as it wasn’t. Being only seventeen Athena understood now that her life was changing forever, which brought her to where she is now. Standing inside the small trailer she and Sweet Pea shared, Athena noticed it was littered with an array of baby stuff, seeing as Toni threw a baby shower at the Wyrm once Athena hit her five-month point. Athena had a family, one much better than the family she was related to by blood. Her newly found family took care of her and loved her, imperfections and all. It was hard for Athena to believe that in four short months she’d have a son, a baby, a new responsibility. Sweet Pea had adjusted to the fact very quickly, especially after finding out it was a boy, the first thing he did was run out and buy a stuffed bear that was blue, much to Athena complaining about the stereotype of boy things being blue.
“It’s a mess in here.” Fangs stated entering the trailer. “What happened?” Glancing around he noticed all the baby stuff lying about.
“Toni threw the baby shower, Sweet Pea and I haven’t had the chance to put it all away yet, hence why I’m standing here.” She looked over at her friend. “Do you know what time he gets off?” Sweet Pea had taken a job working for a mechanic on the Southside, the pay was decent enough, especially with Athena working at the Wyrm every other day.
“Won’t be till late, he has a job for the Serpents.” He mentioned and Athena nodded before moving towards the things littering her floor.
“Well I better start cleaning up, then I’ll cook dinner.” She smiled back at Fangs.
“Do you ever get out anymore?” He asked as Athena picked up a basket of baby clothes that would eventually go into the small dresser that was attached to the changing table that was in the two’s bedroom.
“Fangs, I’m pregnant, there is no ‘getting out’ anymore.” She stated. “I go to school, go to work, come home, cook, clean, homework, repeat.” She stated. “Pea and I barely have time to see each other anymore.” She mentioned, Fangs nodded.
“Come on.” Grabbing his friends arm he pulled her out of the house and over to Sweet Pea’s truck, the only thing Sweet Pea would let Athena drive in anymore.
“Where are we going?” She asked watching Fangs shoot a text off to someone before driving towards Pop’s without saying a word.
“You’re hanging out with your friends today.” He stated pulling into the parking lot, the two walking in and being greeted by Toni. The group of three sat in the booth at Pop’s for a few hours just talking and eating. “Toni and I are taking yours and Pea’s shifts this weekend, you’ll still get paid for it.” Fangs mentioned. “I texted Nick about it, he’s cool with it, and Hog eye isn’t going to care if Toni takes over for you.”
“You don’t have to do that.” Athena shook her head looking at her friends as they were standing in the parking lot.
“Yes, we do.” Toni stated. “Fangs said you guys are both worn out, plus you haven’t seen each other, take a break, especially before the baby comes.” She stated smiling at her best friend. “I promise you, you need it.” Athena sighed.
“Sweet Pea already agreed.” Fangs mentioned causing Athena to groan.
“Fine.” She huffed before hugging both her friends. “I need to go, I have a bunch of stuff to do at home.”
“Nope.” Toni took Athena’s arm. “We’re going to a movie, Fangs has stuff to do so he’s gonna take my jeep back and grab his bike.” Toni glanced at Fangs before Athena and Toni went and seen a movie. Meanwhile at Sweet Pea and Athena’s trailer, Fangs, Jughead, and Betty were rushing to put everything away, the only thing they left was the crib for Sweet Pea to assemble. When Athena and Toni arrived, she immediately noticed the lights on in the trailer.
“Toni, what’s going on?” Athena asked as they climbed out of the truck.
“What ever do you mean Thena?” Athena looked at her friend before entering the trailer to see the three standing in front of her, grins on their faces.
“Fangs texted us, saying you were stressed with everything going on.” Jughead stated.
“So, we volunteered to come help.” Betty stated.
“Everything is put away, organized, and folded. Only thing we didn’t do was the crib, Pea said he wanted to do that with you this weekend.” Fangs said as Athena smiled before starting to cry. “Oh no, we’re sorry!”
“No, no.” Athena held up her hand at Fangs. “They’re happy tears, promise. My hormones are all over the place, don’t worry about. Thank you, guys, really.” Athena hugged all four of them in her trailer. “I couldn’t ask for a better family.” The group hung out and watched movies for awhile before each one left, leaving only Athena and Fangs, as Fangs stayed every night until Pea came home. Athena had fallen asleep on the chair whilst Fangs was cleaning up from the movies when Sweet Pea came in around one in the morning.
“Hey man.” Fangs said seeing Pea as he dropped his things on the kitchen counter.
“Hey.” Glancing at his girlfriend Sweet Pea smiled. “How long has she been out?”
“Since about ten thirty.” Fangs stated finishing up the dishes which Sweet Pea nodded before looking back at his best friend.
“Thank you, for tonight.” Sweet Pea wasn’t one to thank people, but Fangs was looking out for him, and more importantly Athena. “I know how stressed she’s been and no matter what I try, she doesn’t seem to relax, so thank you.”
“No problem bro, you’re family.” Fangs and Sweet Pea hugged before Fangs grabbed his Serpent jacket. “I’m gonna bounce.” Once Fangs was gone, Sweet Pea locked the door and quickly showered before heading back to the living room where he lifted Athena into his arms and moved towards the bedroom.
“Sweets?” Athena’s voice cracked as she blinked open her eyes sleepily.
“It’s me.” Sweet Pea looked down at her before setting her on the bed.
“What time is it?” She yawned sitting up slightly to move back on the bed. “When did you get home?”
“It’s about one thirty, not long ago.” Sweet Pea said heading towards the dresser and grabbing Athena’s pajamas. Sweet Pea helped his girlfriend change before the two laid down in bed.
“They did everything Pea.” Athena wrapped her arms around him and mumbled into his chest. “What did we do to deserve them?”
“You deserve the world Thena, sadly you ended up with me.” Sweet Pea’s voice was soft. “You could do so much better,”
“Pea.” Athena sat up to look at his face. “I have the world, you, you are my world, you and our son.” Touching a hand to her stomach, Athena smiled before pressing her lips against his. “I love you, I can’t do any better because you are the best.” The two fell asleep after Sweet Pea told her that he loved her.
The days passed, the nights got colder as winter came in full swing. Friday night, a night that used to be all the younger Serpents hanging out at the Quarry but with the current weather they now all chose to spend time at the Wyrm. Both Athena and Sweet Pea had to work for a bit, so he dropped her off at the Wyrm before heading over to the mechanic shop he worked at. Athena had worked for a few hours before Sweet Pea came into the bar.
“Hey.” Athena smiled over at her boyfriend as she slid him a beer. “Fangs and Toni are in the back with everyone.” Nodding towards their friends, Pea smiled. “Take this to Fangs, he needs another, he lost at pool to Toni.” She passed him another drink and leaned over the bar kissing Sweet Pea before waiting on a group of college kids in from Greendale on winter break. “Check if Toni needs anything.” Athena smiled before turning back to the group of kids, all six being guys. “What can I get for you?” As Athena asked, she noticed FP walking down from his office, grabbing a beer she slid it down the bar to him. “Take a seat Jones, it’s the holiday’s take a break.” The six guys gave Athena their orders and she got to it as FP sat down at his normal spot at the bar.
“Just cause it’s the holidays doesn’t mean we get breaks.” FP reminded. “How’s everything going?” FP motioned to Athena’s stomach as she began placing drinks in front of the group of college kids whom seemed interested in their conversation.
“Peachy, Sweets thinks we should name him Knox.” She laughed. “From Dead Poets Society.” She mentioned handing the last guy his whiskey.
“Of course, he does, I’m sure Jug agrees?” FP asked as Athena nodded.
“He’s got Fangs and Jug in on it, driving me nuts, I get a text about it every hour.” She laughed as here phone went off, pulling it out and sliding it to FP which he read ‘Baby Knox doesn’t sound to bad’. “Fangs is set on Knox Fangs, and I’ll be damned if I name my son that.”
“Better than Forsythe Pendleton.” Jughead mentioned stepping up behind his father.
“Hey Juggy. You want anything?”
“No, just came to talk to my dad. You got a minute?” Turning to FP who nodded before setting his beer back on the counter.
“Duty calls.” He grinned standing and walking away with Jughead. Athena took the bottle and began cleaning up a bit before wiping down the counter and refilling the college kids drinks along with a few older Serpents. Glancing over occasionally, to see Sweet Pea and Fangs playing pool.
“Hey hot mamma.” Toni grinned stepping behind the bar and grabbing her own drink.
“You do know you’re not working today right?”
“Yeah, but you need a break, go hang with Sweet Pea.” Toni tried pushing Athena from behind the bar.
“Nah, he’s busy with Fangs, they don’t get to hang much, it’s cool. But you’re more than welcome to help.” Athena teased before hearing one of the college kids as a question.
“What’s with all these names? Jughead, Fangs, Sweet Pea? What were their parents thinking?”
“They’re nicknames.” Athena mentioned. “None of them had the greatest of names.”
“I’ve been friends with Sweet Pea for like twelve years and I still don’t know his name.” Toni mentioned standing next to Athena.
“Sleep with him, he opens up pretty quick after that.” Athena laughed turning back to grab her cup of water.
“That’s all? You willing to share?” Toni teased causing Athena to laugh.
“He’d kill me.”
“Nah, you’re having his kid.” Athena nodded before filling a beer for Tall Boy.
“Most Serpents don’t know it, hell I’m not sure Fangs does.” She glanced back at her boyfriend.
“Who would rather be called Fangs?” The guys asked as Athena looked back at them.
“He had bad teeth growing up, kids made fun of him, his teeth are better, but he kinda liked the name.” Shrugging she set a bowl of pretzels in front of them.
“Can we get another round, beautiful?” Sweet Pea asked stepping towards the bar and setting the two bottles on the counter.
“Depends.” Toni turned to her friend. “Tell me your real name.”
“Topaz, wasn’t talking to you.” Sweet Pea glanced back at his girlfriend with a smile.
“Do I have to sleep with you to get that information?” Toni asked as Athena grabbed two beers.
“Nah, you gotta be carrying my child, be named Athena, and be my future wife.” He stated not breaking eye contact.
“Wife? Oh honey.” Athena laughed shaking her head. “Should probably worry about getting this baby out of me first, then we’ll talk about marriage.” She said placing two beers on the counter. “Or you should probably ask me first.” Turning back around she began putting money in the register.
“Marry me then.” Sweet Pea stated, still leaning on the counter and staring at his girlfriend. Athena laughed.
“Stop playing around you idiot.”
“I’m serious, marry me.” Athena turned as Toni gasped, in Sweet Pea’s hand sat a ring, it was one Athena recognized as his mothers, the only thing he had left after her death.
“Pea.”
“Marry me?” He asked a third time as Athena began crying and stepping towards him nodding.
“Yeah, I’ll marry you.” She said smiling, Sweet Pea slipped the ring on her finger. “Perfect.” She said softly, looking down at the ring before glancing back up at him before kissing him. Pulling away from Sweet Pea she noticed Toni on the counter.
“Edward!” She called over to Fangs, causing everyone to turn and look at her. “Sweets and Athena are getting married!” Everyone in the bar began to cheer as Athena blushed and looked at her boyfriend, no fiancé.
“I think I’ll take you up on your offer Toni, I’m gonna take a break.” Moving around the bar, she and Sweet Pea headed to the booth, as they passed Fangs, they handed him his beer before the two fell into a small booth and began quietly talking. Life wasn’t perfect, but this was damn close for the two Southsiders.
As always thank you for reading my loves! I wasn’t really planning on doing a part two but now I’m thinking of doing a third part. Let me know what you think. Thank you again for reading!

[ weep ]++
word prompts compilation [ weep ]  for your muse to catch mine crying // ++ reverse  // @peepingtoad
The summer evening embraced the streets with particularly gentle warmth and calmness. A sky dusted in faint purples and pinks as the clouds gathered lowly overly the horizon. As if an artist had painted it there to be specifically beautiful. The clean air greeted passing shinobi with just the right breeze to cast away any overbearing heat, yet never enough to cause a chill. The leaves barely moved from the almost windless afternoon, that soft gust only ever running tender fingers through the branches and tall grass. It is almost enough to fool the serpent in to admiring the small things in life, in to noticing the gathering of all this beauty, and cut the world some slack from their usual disdain. Almost. For when Hiruzen approaches them in his office, the serpent having been tidying up after hours and neatening the piles of yet to be finished paperwork, they can instantly see a rather grim expression lining his eyes. He doesn’t mention it, they don’t ask, but when their mentor tells them to do one last minute errand, when that errand is the delivery of a single letter to their comrade, issuing exemption from the next assignment for no mentioned reason, they are quick to link something being wrong to Jiraiya. It is why they abandon the walk on cobbled and paved pathways, why they gracefully move about rooftops until they wind up at his door. They would have knocked, but they can instantly see the door is ajar. As if Jiraiya had been there and forgotten to close it, as if something had swept his mind away from the task. Gently pushing it open, their voice calls in their usual reserved and quiet manner, “Jiraiya?” announcing their presence softly, since it was unwise to ever enter a shinobi’s home, even the friendliest sort, without ensuring the homeowner knew they were friend rather than foe. When they enter the living space however, golden eyes find themselves greeted by a picture that would haunt them for all of time. Strands of tufted white hair falling in front of his face like a curtain when his head was lowered, veiling his eyes, his expression. But the way he leans forward in his seat is telling, something clasped in his hand as if it may have physically harmed him, broad shoulders shaking from something uncontained in his chest. It is a moment of pause only before they cross the distance between them, not one to ever know how to navigate social situations with any true finesse, yet forgetting their own social oddity when they are left with lingering pangs of concern for their team mate. Still as soundless as a housecat, they have crossed the threshold in to the lounge by instinct alone. Not knowing what had feasted upon his heart to drive the man to erratic breaths and tears, but knowing that the only means of ridding any demon, tangible or invisible, was to be at his side. Finding their seat against him, a hand placed to his knee, until they can make out the letter in his hand, until the edge of the paper, shaky hand writing but oh so recognizable, can be deciphered by golden optics. They didn’t need to be a genius to put two and two together, and the feeling is as sharp to them as a blade driving itself through their stomach. Stealing their breath when they try to consider how they might reverse this, fix this, save him. But this grief, one so very familiar to the serpent, is not something they can fight off. How fragile humans were, both in death and life. And how cruel and tasteless of the evening, to offer these stunning skies so touched by beauty on a day like this. As if the world itself may dare to smile, while their teammate weeps. His tears strike them like razor blades, as the desperation grows to do something, anything, to somehow free him from this moment. Watching in helpless unease as the young male shakes from the pain gathering in his head, wracking him with sorrow that could never be measured. For one always feels too young to say goodbye to a parent. They feel as if they too have been tossed back in time, as if they are not a well established shinobi of the highest caliber. As if they have not faced bloodthirsty enemies and come out on top. As if they haven’t seen more than anyone ought to at only nineteen years old and aged quickly to counter such a lifestyle. They feel as if they may as well be that seven year old child again, except this time, instead of having Jiraiya throwing his small arms around their shoulders when they staggered upon the news of their passing parents, it is the boy who must wrestle with loss. Did the universe, with all its answerless and meaningless nerve, not know what she was worth? They place a hand under his chin, to bring him to look up, to stop him from causing himself greater pain by reeling too hard. Because they know how one wishes to give control to the body when the mind wants nothing to do with the real world anymore. When thinking may as well be more agonizing than being set on fire. So they force him to look at them a moment, almost wishing they hadn’t when the marks of tears in his midnight eyes threaten to bring that reflective emotion to their own gaze. It wasn’t their right to cry however, and they have stoned themself long enough to get away with a mere shaken breath before they speak. Even if his eyes seem to beg them to tell him it’s a lie, that she hadn’t run out of time with him. Even if they know that this structure around him would no longer feel like home, for he had only ever found home in her eyes. Slender digits ghost along his cheekbone, wiping away the dampness that had made white hair cling to his tanned skin. Desperate to find the right words, but knowing they were never the sort for right words, he’s usually the one who does this sort of thing, “you need to breathe,” their words come softly, as if they may be coaxing him to stay with them when he was wounded on the field, a decision to try and prevent him from causing greater discomfort to his body by forgetting self preservation and basic duties, “breathe in, breathe out,” such simple words, but it seems he may need some prompting and reminding to remember even this, to not have burning lungs and a throbbing head, to not choke when his body’s instinctive reaction is to gasp at air that hadn’t been provided. Their hand slips around the back of his head, bringing him to rest against their chest, where he could cry in to the violet fabrics of their kimono, where he could banish the fears of being alone and find reassurance, if only for this moment, if only for a second. They place a kiss, firm and engulfed with their anger at this injustice, to the top of his head, not knowing if he would even notice a single gesture amid the turmoil crashing in to him. They would keep him held closely to their chest until they feel a hand upon their own shoulder, until caught off guard, they turn to see Tsunade has arrived too. No doubt the news had made her abandon any duty or activity, no doubt that the look in her eyes is the exact one the serpent offers her in return. They let Tsunade take their place, she would be better in the spoken reassurances than they might be. They can hear her speaking quietly to him now, enough softness to account for the great loss, enough sternness to make him trust she had everything under control. That if he fell a part, it would be all right. The serpent moves to the kitchen, where they can take the moment to lean against the counter, simply stilling their racing heart, which felt cold like ice in their chest. They rummage around in his cabinets, finding barely hidden alcohol of the strongest nature. Still only nineteen years old, they wouldn’t pretend they had the best ideas when it came to coping. Still only nineteen years old, if someone dared to tell their friend how he ought to grieve, the usually quiet serpent would undoubtedly tell that someone to fuck themselves. Feeling a pacing entity within them grow more restlessly ferocious to defend what life was theirs, to defend the precious life of the two shinobi beyond the archway of the door. They return, without glasses, perhaps not thinking about civility and etiquette in a moment like this. Seeing that Tsunade had managed to mitigate some of the more violent shudders from crying, so the serpent can offer the open bottle. So Jiraya can take the first few large swigs, with Tsunade and Orochimaru following a while later when he was finished. Where miseries can be spoken between friends with the relief of alcohol loosening everyones tongues. Until early morning has come, in all its blackness and silence. Until all three teammates have haphazardly found sleeping positions all on the same couch. All using one another as a pillow and bed as they had when they were children, comfortably uncomfortable, but refusing more space at the cost of being a part. Tsunade has already fallen asleep the serpent notes, as they guide blonde hair out of its high pony, and run out the kinks that had formed to spare her the tangles come morning. Until they pay their next attention to Jiraiya, their golden eyes heavy from wanting to succumb to the same rest the young woman had. “I never want to hurt you this much,” they say quietly, as they move to guide hair out of his face next, the slight lag to their speech a good indication that being tired and drunk was not a fight they were winning, speaking as their mind slips further in to rest, “if I die, I hope you won’t feel obliged to miss me, I hope you’ll forget me if it’s easier, pretend that it isn’t as sad as people said it would be. I hope you’re still just as happy, and that you’ll only love me until my last day, and never a day again.”

Medusa and the blind girl
The whole cave shuddered in remorse with the emptiness, the crippling solitude of the stone figures. Covered with the spider webs and insects, warming up the lovely decorations of her home. The queen sitting in the throne alone with no one to rule over, but the endless hordes of stone frozen in fear. Visitors rarely come by, but whenever they came, she tends to them personally for always it's a queens job to be hospitable.
Poor visitors that never leave once greeted by her majesty. Without ringing the bell, nor wiping their shoes on the mat, what ill-mannered souls, but the lovely queen doesn't discriminate. Wearing her most extravagant dress, with her hair flowing and hissing happily. Those sea-green beautiful eyes shining brightly, enhancing all her features.
"Welcome my dear guests", she greeted. All she got in response was screaming and disgust from those dishonorable souls, weak fragile humans. So weak yet their actions are the only thing able to hurt the queen deeply, as their faces filled with fear and anguish at the sight of her eyes, her hair and just her in all her glory. The bodies slowly petrifying into stone statues to add to her lonely furniture.
More faces that remind her, of her sad lonely life as the spiders cob their webs on the new statutes trying to hide their face to soothe their queen just a little. A beautiful necklace laced with their still web flowed on to her neck so ironically majestic. As the snakes slithered in melancholy.
"Umm is a-anyone there?", a frail voice echoed in the empty room of statues.
A weak dirty girl in rags and chains on the ground still sitting in her knees scraped and bleeding. The queen scared to see another face scream, ran to her throne room. A lonely abode yet away from all those reminders of her sole purpose in life to be lonely, to be companionless. The spiders still amazed at the girl in taters, they prepared a bed with their finest silk, softer than the roses of Athena's garden. A tray of assorted delicacies fancied by her majesty and escorted to a stream of water by the faithful lizards.
The scorpions so freely unlocked her shackles as the girl not scared of all the anomalies thanked them all with the kindest most sweetest Melody.
Taking off her clothes in the stream of water heated by the lava rocks fallen from Hades's tantrums, a Melody echoing around the caves. Till they knocked at the Queen's door, so soothing, Bewitched by the voice, the queen awoke from her crumbled abode. Peeking through the hole in the roof above the stream, a sight so beautiful yet so normal.
A poor girl, filled with wounds dirty and torn, disgusting and not even a face to boast, but just that elegance that kept on knocking the queen out of her shoes. Why is she still here, she taunted her servants, who all but one cowered in fear?
"Oh my queen, my dear lonely queen this girl is one not like the others, she feared not our touch nor holds a grudge. All the visitors had never, stayed so long, but this girl has been coming along.", The queen curiously observed the girl, as the servant spoke. Her hand clutched her chest and let out a frightful roar. The serpents on her head hissed with red eyes as she jumped down below in front of the girl splashing the water all around.
"You little miscreant", she screamed at the poor girl, who had suddenly lost all composure in fear, but wait there was something different this fear was not against the queen, but fear of overstepping her bounds.
"Oh my lords, please don't hurt this filthy servant, I overstepped my bounds I repent please forgive me for this atrocity", she pleaded while begging the queen, who was in shock. The girls back layout exposed and the make of a slave engraved deep till her bones. The queen shook as she calmed down and informed the poor raggedy girl that her captors were no more, and she was free now.
The girl still begging, the queen still stuck on the question of why? Just why is she not turning into stone?
Like a hit of fear from the last treacheries she had faced, her face boiled as she had to know, is she being deceived.
"Do you know who I am, little human!!!", She spoke with her strongest voice, "I am Medusa the queen of this land, the ruler of the serpents, you dare lie to me!!!".
As Medusa reached for the girl and grabbed her face, she looked her straight in the eye, her hissing hair, slithering slowly around her head.
"I-I'm sorry I didn't know, I-I cannot see y-your highness", she explained as Medusa Expression shifted from anger to confusion, as the grey dead eyes stared into her eyes, without fear, without hatred those beautiful eyes that seemingly dead had more life than every statue in her fortress.
*Drip* *drip* the queen snapped back to her senses as the grey eyes filled with tears looked at her, Medusa's eyes all the more aware saw all the wounds and scars on that little feeble human. For the first time in forever, Medusa was incapable of being hospitable.
"All my servants, heed the call of your queen!!! Take care of my guest and tend to her wounds at once", she ordered.
The girl still begging for her life, opened her eyes wider as if she wanted to look at her, just look at that voice that for the first time scared her, yet still managed to make her feel warm. Shaking and tired she fell unconscious on to the white scaly arms of her majesty.
*Crack a dent on a stone was barely heard.*
The girl awoke in a beautifully decorated room with robes of the finest fabric, hair neatly tied and an entrancing scent lingering around. Fresh from her rest, the girl felt her surroundings and started to tear up. Her instinct to express her happiness and gratitude seeped in the form of a beautiful melody, that all the servants rushed to hear. The bewitching voice of this kindred soul, knocked on the Queen's door yet again as she appeared in front of her, dressed in a beautiful gown, and the finest lipstick in the land of the mortals. All to which she remembered on facing the girl was not needed.
"Oh, my humble queen is that you?", The poor girl spoke.
Medusa traced her hand through her hair, onto her face affirming her query. Never had she felt such a soft and delicate sensation of another person's skin. She humbly asked the girl's name, at which the girl suddenly went quiet.
"I'm sorry your highness, but I don't remember my name", she muttered. Disheartened, medusa grabbed her hand and helped her stand up.
"Call me Medusa please", The queen calmly exclaimed. The servants brought a stick for the blind girl, but Medusa hinted them to stop as she wanted to help her walk herself. Moving pass the rooms in the hall, in the great castle, another slight sound of stone cracking still left unheard. Sitting alone in the room, no one had touched the food as one was busy admiring the girl in front, and the other was busy feeling the sensation of a very warm hand that she had never felt before. The servants in the hallways rejoicing at the happy queen who had for once found a companion, a feeling she had never felt. All the scared statues in the castle were now all of a sudden unable to make the queen sad, for now, she had found a human worthy of looking at her and not cower into a statue of fear.
Hours passed by in the coped up room as the two talked and talked and talked till they were tired, and yet it was still not enough. Never have the two ever felt much happier than they did with each other. It was night time, and time to retire to their rooms as it was the girls' time to sleep and the Queen's time to work, the servants cannot get supplied themselves. Escorted to her room by her majesty the girl oh so very slightly leaned in for a kiss on the cheek of the dazzled queen. Now red all over, even the slithering hair, going away with her heart pounding hard. The girl lay down to sleep with a very warm smile.
"Goodnight", Medusa said with her hand still on her cheek.
"Goodnight my queen", replied the half-asleep tired maiden.
As the queen departed for her daily duty, the girl just remembered something, something she wishes to tell the queen next time she met. A giggling little girl slept soundly.
*Crack* *crack* a huge thud echoed as the sound alarmed everyone, the servants scared at the sight of the source, a huge spike from the ceiling, had slowly begun to crack. A figure woke up from the sound, walking slowly in the dark, just the sound of weeping servants was all that guided the figure. Running the figure stepped into a snake and got bitten, but that did not stop her from finding the source of that sound. A feeling was stuck in her chest that she wanted to rid herself of.
So dark as the figure finally reached the source and felt a warm touch as she trembled onto the ground with her hands grabbing everything they could. Her hands moving slowly from her hands to the Queen's weeping face, then down to her stomach, pierced by a spike. The girl began crying in sadness as she realized that her queen lay there on the ground bleeding, not uttering a word as the servants frozen still.
"Leave me and go, there's nothing that we can do now", the queen uttered as her mouth filled with blood. The girl still weeping grasped her closer, "you can't leave me like this my majesty, you were so kind to me, so loving I cannot lose you like this".
As the room went silent Medusa lay her head on the girls' lap as she talked to her to keep her from feeling pain. hand in hand, the girl asked the queen, "do you want to know my name, my queen".
The queen nodded while barely speaking," call me Medusa please".
The girl grasped her closer while holding her breath, "my name w-was h-hope".
As the queen smirked, the name eched into her heart.
As the silence grew even more Hope, gripped her tighter, and felt herself growing weaker, even the queen realized as both of them near the end of their lights, Medusa placed her hand on hopes face and hope pressed her forehead against Medusa's.
As the servants now left at the wish of the queen the empty room with the two souls in the center, slowly the hair on Medusa started to petrify as the girls' hands started to turn to stone as well.
The night reached it's prime as the moon shined down brightly through a hole, on the beautifully sad stone figure left in the middle of the room, with the monster no one could look at and the girl that was able to see nothing, but the monster.

Day 8 of Ineffable Holiday: Holiday Shopping
Hello! I’m writing my little comment at the beginning this time as this turned out to be a longer fic (~1500 words), maybe ignited by a ridiculous amount of alcohol and some sober editing.
This is Day 8 of an #IneffableHoliday prompt list. Check the hashtag or follow @soft-angel-aziraphale because there is some lovely art posted :)
As always, you can also find it on Ao3 here. Feel free to leave me a comment, I’m addicted to those :)
“Oh, no. No, no. Bad luck for us would actually mean dreadful luck. It’s not something we should be risking. Big risk fan, me, though. But not today, I think n-” his rant was halted by two warm hands cupping his cheeks. Crowley could feel the blood rushing up his neck as he opened and closed his mouth looking for something to say. He gave up and then relaxed, soothed by the comfort of being held by Aziraphale. Time seemed to slow down as the angel closed the space between them and paused just an inch away from him, hesitating. Crowley could not stand it any longer and grabbed him by the lapels, making Aziraphale gasp, to finally, finally kiss him.
It seemed that the freezing wind could not dissuade people from shopping. Perhaps it was due to how close they were to Christmas Eve, perhaps it was that it was the thing to do that evening. Aziraphale dodged yet another grandma carrying more bags than she should be able to.
“Oh, dear, this is a nightmare!” the angel complained.
“Uh, well, you did say you wanted to go shopping for the holidays so you are having the complete experience,” Crowley answered, shrugging it off.
“I did, but it seems I wasn’t completely aware of what I was saying… This reminds me of Hell, with all the people and the queues and everyone running. Look at them, not even one of them is enjoying themselves!” he was shocked, trying to understand what was going on around him.
“It’s the 23rd, of course nobody is enjoying shopping. They’re desperate! The last ones, those who have slothly postponed over and over again their duties and now they are paying for it. It’s brilliant!” Crowley grinned.
“Brilliant? Wait, Crowley. Was holiday shopping your idea?” Aziraphale stopped walking and a man bumped into him before continuing his way without apologising.
“Uh, not exactly. I wish it had been, I mean, turning a religious holiday into Hell? It’s genius! They beat me to it, but I got credit. So, if anyone asks, yeah I did come up with the last minute holiday shopping.”
“Dear fellow, how many more things did you give yourself credit that I don’t know of?” Aziraphale asked, partially amused by it if it weren’t for the constant bumping with people and the general unpleasant ambient.
“That you don’t know of? Plenty. Yeah, many of them. About two per year? It was my job, innit?”
“My goodness, and did they believe you? That seems like a rather big amount of lies, Crowley.”
“That’s right. You’re talking to the serpent of Eden. The original sin. The first tempter. I’m quite a good liar, you know? Telling people what they want to hear” they had started walking again but now people seemed to diverge their path just to let them pass, in a way that reminded Crowley of Moses.
“How would I know? I mean, if you are such a good liar, as you said, I wouldn’t be able to notice when you lied to me. So I guess not, I don’t really know,” Aziraphale explained. He had always assumed that Crowley, being a demon, wouldn’t always tell him the truth. It was expected of him, it was in his job description.
“Well, I don’t lie to you,” the demon pointed out. “What would be the point? You would probably get so mad at me that we wouldn’t speak for a century or so, which has happened in the past even though when I was telling you the truth, and that’s something I’m not willing to go through again. Not good. Well, the nap was good. But everything else sucked pretty badly. Did you know I woke up in the middle of World War II? Let me tell you, it was not a pleasant surprise.”
“And yet you came to rescue me,” Aziraphale slyly smiled at Crowley.
“Yeah, well. That’s what friends do. Or so I’ve heard,” Crowley shrugged it off and entered the first shop he saw, a decoration store filled with Christmas trees of all shapes, colours and materials, a wide variety of presents, shiny rolls of wrapping paper and intricate ornaments, as well as funny accessories with a consistent holidays pattern. They were surrounded by Santa Clauses, reindeers, snowflakes, trees, presents, bells, mistletoe, stars, red and green imprinted everywhere. A Christmas carol could be heard above the noise all the potential shoppers were making in their frenzied purchases.
“Oh, look at this, Crowley!” Aziraphale said, putting on a headband with reindeer horns. A bunch of tiny bells sewn to it jingled. “It’s adorable!” the demon looked at him, his beaming smile and his blonde curls, and blushed.
“You look ridiculous, angel.” he said, immediately turning around and faking interest on whatever stupid thing was standing on that particular shelf. He fiddled around, willing the blush to disappear.
“You should try those ones over there.” Aziraphale said, peeking over Crowley’s shoulder.
“What? No! These? No, not in a million years, nuh-huh. I’ve got standards. Unlike some people around here.”
“Whyever not? They’re fun. And you like sunglasses,” Aziraphale insisted, having way too much fun in Crowley’s opinion. The demon sighed, took off the pair he was currently wearing and put on the heart-shaped ones Aziraphale was pointing at. He turned around, defeated.
“Oh! Oh, you look utterly adorable!” the angel jumped on his feet and clapped. “We must buy these.”
“Why? They’re made of plastic, angel. No sense of aesthetics. These - they’re hideous! It’s humiliating,” he whined as Aziraphale took him by the hand and led him to the counter, where there was no queue to wait. “You do realise this can be considered torture, right?”
“Oh, hush. I will wear this headband so you don’t feel ridiculous - not that you look ridiculous. I insist, you look adorable.” Crowley felt like he was about to combust any minute now. Not knowing anything better to do, he tried to bit back.
“How is that supposed to help? I’m not adorable, I shouldn’t look like it. I’m a demon” Crowley moaned as Aziraphale ignored him and paid for both articles. They exited the shop and went on to the next one.
“I love this shop, I love how it smells even from the outside. Marvelous,” Aziraphale briefly sniffed around before opening the door to let Crowley in. Three counters, forming an inverted U, received them. They were filled with a wide variety of sweets, treats and chocolates, each of them more intricate than the other. Aziraphale wiggled in excitement before approaching one of the clerks.
“Hello,” the angel greeted with his usual kindness. “I would like to have the usual, if you please.”
“Right away, Mr. Fell,” the lady answered before going to the backroom.
“They know you here.” Crowley said, not impressed in the least. Aziraphale was probably known in every chocolate shop in the entire United Kingdom. Probably also in Belgium, Switzerland and France. And any other country that may have chocolate shops.
“Oh, yes. It has been one of my top twenty-five chocolate shops in London for quite a while now. I’m surprised I haven’t bring you here before,” Aziraphale answered.
“I guess we still have things to show the other…” Crowley muttered.
“Quite right, dear.” the angel smiled shyly. “It keeps things interesting, wouldn’t you say so?”
Once Aziraphale had his box of chocolates, they both agreed they had had enough of the Christmas shopping experience. Crowley led the way to a small winery closeby. It was crowded, but once again, they were lucky enough to not have to wait before having a seat in a small corner.
The demon was still wearing the hideous glasses while Aziraphale moved his head from time to time just to make the tiny bells on his headband jingle.
“Two red wines for the loveñy couple…” the waitress placed two cups on the small table as Crowley struggled to say something.
“Thank you, dear,” said Aziraphale instead as he tried to hide a smirk behind his glass. “Hm, this is quite nice.” The demon agreed to it even though he hadn’t had a sip yet. He had always enjoyed those moments when Aziraphale would show his most bastard side and it had been nice to openly do it with the freedom they now enjoyed. But there was this smugginess about him today that was disconcerting.
They kept drinking for a couple of hours, idly chatting and discussing about that first time they celebrated the winter solstice and that other time where they got drunk on eggnog and then regretted it. They fell into a comfortable silence. Aziraphale looked around, taking in the surroundings and the people around them when he noticed something hanging from the ceiling. He opened his eyes widely, the epitome of shock.
“Is that… is that mistletoe?” Aziraphale asked, gesturing with his index finger towards it.
“Whuh?” Crowley had been sprawled over the table for a while now, the glasses no longer sitting properly on his nose. He looked to where Aziraphale was pointing. “Huh… I guess it is?” there was no point in denying it.
“Well. We ought to do something about it. Otherwise it’ll be bad luck. I think.” Crowley stood up straight, startled.
“D- do you mean… Like, uh, that we should…” he trailed off.
“Kiss, yes.” Aziraphale said. “Unless you want to risk the bad luck.”
