PLEADING guilty in county court today, on charges of breaking and entering and theft, two men were sentenced by Judge Cory to serve three years each in the penitentiary.
The men were Stanley Chaban, 878 Aberdeen ave., and Edward Haas, 524 Dufferin ave. They broke into the home of Charles Kirchgeusner, 606 Church ave.. Oct. 8, 1942, and stole rings valued at $70 and $8 cash.
In leaving the house, Chaban and Haas broke through a window and were cut by glass. Later they appeared at the home of Dr. Frank Rybak, 359 Selkirk ave., for treatment. When the doctor suggested hospitalization, they refused and warned him that if he informed police of their injuries they would take reprisals against him.

The Rings of Power + parallels ripping off Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy
"About four, five years ago, they asked if I would be interested in it,” [Peter Jackson] says. “So I said, ‘Have you got the scripts yet?’ Because I know how hard the scripts were to write for the films, and I didn’t know the people writing their scripts. They said, ‘Oh no, we haven’t got the scripts yet, but as soon as we do, we’ll send you the scripts.’ So I was waiting for the scripts to arrive, and they never did.” [..]
Amazon Studios responded to Jackson’s comments with the following statement: “In pursuing the rights for our show, we were obligated to keep the series distinct and separate from the films. We have the utmost respect for Peter Jackson and The Lord of The Rings films and are thrilled that he is looking forward to watching The Rings of Power.”

It gets me that Amicus' only crime listed is "hijacker" when the plot is kicked off by him stealing an entire guy
