it's interesting that eddie got a 12 on the grief assessment, but it was obvious during the fight that he was not okay. eddie has always been the king of repressing his feelings and keeping them hidden, and buck has always been the person eddie can be vulnerable with ('you don't have to pretend with me'). except this time eddie was pretending, and buck didn't see it. he didn't see eddie when he is normally the one who can break down the barrier. it shows how deep they were both in their own grief, but also the hurt they both felt. eddie wanted buck to see him. buck wanted eddie to need him. both were too deep in their own hurts to see what was right in front of them.
