Here’s my little narrative about the kids here and the start of Season 5:

I think Season 5 is going to start each one of them on a low note over something they’ve all lost. Even though time has passed, they’re struggling to move on and nothing much has changed. They’re stuck.

Max is in a coma. Lucas can’t think about anything else and though other people are starting to give up hope, he can’t leave her bedside.

Dustin has just lost Eddie, and the town is trying to defame him and this guy he looked up to as Satan worshippers and monsters. He visits his grave often.

Mike’s relationship with El has grown distant, if not overtly broken down (up?). She is back in hiding and they’re not communicating much at all anymore.

El has multiple things going on; she’s just failed to save her best friend and defeat Vecna. She thinks everyone must be disappointed in her, including her now ex-boyfriend Mike.

We have less to go on with Will with no BTS, but he is likely still unable to move on from his romantic attachment to Mike and the continued mourning of their childhood years. He’s also dealing his connection to Vecna.

I think this is the moment they finally come together as a party again and agree to emotionally support each other through all of this. They admit they’ve all been distant and focused on their own lives instead of working as a team. Teamwork will play an important part this season. I also think since El isn’t included here, that the leaked talk between her and Mike is basically a similar conversation between the two of them.

i like to think everyone has a colour associated with them, whether its just your fave colour or what you generally wear most of or what colour your bedroom walls are. i always associate the name sophie with dark blue, my mum is always a nice turquoise, i like to think my colour is a bright sunflower yellow.

if you have a specific shade pls tell me i adore when ppl have associated colours and tell me them, bc i think of them when i see that colour

Thinking about how "But I have always stayed in place/Under that old illusion that it's safe" could equally describe Hunter, Echo, and (s1+2) Crosshair's complete opposite approaches to the Empire and post-war life.

The way Crosshair clings to his identity as a soldier of the Empire

And Echo as a soldier of the Republic

But Hunter puts his identity as a soldier behind him

Crosshair fights for the Empire to gain purpose

Echo fights against the Empire to save his brothers

And Hunter decides the Empire is too strong to even try to oppose

"And forgive me more if I just stay"

Thinking about what The Bad Batch could have been if it had more fully explored the differences between those ideologies

(Thinking about what The Bad Batch could have been if it had dedicated more screen time to the 'reg' clones within the Empire and the underground network's fight to free them , instead of just sidelining Echo and Rex for a hypothetical clone rebellion show we might never get)

I know several people who like LOVE seasons 5-7 (11th doctors run) and think the storylines and moffats writing are brilliant and I don't get it!!! what am I missing??? why does literally every single episode have the exact same stakes: Rory/Amy/the doctor is dead. forever. so dead. but wait!!! what if they aren't!!! why do so many of the explanations for why they're not actually dead feel so rushed like they were added at the last minute!! why does every single queer character act kind of weird and awkward about being queer!! why does the doctor casually say that women are inferior when no one's around!!! what the fuck!! hello!!!

guys i feel like rewatching gilmore girls now, i was so obsessed with it

it literally motivated me to studying because i wanted to be Rory so bad 😭 I find it surprising how i managed to do that, but the secret is, i forced myself to be so delusional that i told myself by the end of studying, my favourite celebrity would knock on my door and come into my house and hug me and take selfies with me

that show put me through so much guys you dont understand the amount of times id cry throughout each season on so many different / specific lines, events, occasions, episodes, seasons

Woke up to the random thought that the connection between semblance and aura is highly unclear

We know that if someone's aura breaks they can't use their semblance (unless the plot needs it >:/), so does that mean that semblances use energy from the soul like aura does? Is it like mana in video games where you only have so much before it runs out and needs to be replenished? If so, are there any substances that can give it a boost? What happens if you use the last of your aura on your semblance? Do people with passive semblances have a constant drain on their aura?

If they're not connected at all, then why would the absence of aura prevent semblance use? What would be preventing someone from using their semblance indefinitely?

God I wish the rules of this place were both clear and sensible

star trek as a series really is just. so good. yeah i've enjoyed some of the new stuff, too (strange new worlds really has the same feel as the early stuff!) but man. the original series was already groundbreaking. the next generation just layered on top of it. i'm working my way through ds9 now and it opens on such a heavy-hitting episode (wow!! trauma!!!!) (also picard is such a beloved character to many and sisko HATES him so politely it's incredible) (like he is certainly justified! but wow!!) and of course voyager was the one i actually watched first + all the way through first (i've since watched all of tng) but yeah. i really do think tng is probably the best one to start with if you haven't watched star trek before. and of course each one is a product of its time and so some of it is campy or not how we see the world today but. it's sooo good. so good.

Haha... I'm so tired I zonked out for an involuntary nap that happened so quickly that I had to force eject myself out of the beginnings of sleep paralysis (thankfully I have enough experience with this that I have learned how to escape it quickly. Food comas+sleep deprivation hit you hard when you have an underactive thyroid haha). Ofc my body still feels heavy, but I didn't wanna go to bed at 7pm (I want some time to myself doing leisurely/fun activities) and it's only 8PM now, which is still too early for me. Guess I won't be able to draw tonight in this state, so I'll just play GW2 for a bit before going to bed for real lol
