I’m afraid of escalators- everytime ya girl tries to get on one since I got a foot injury I fall :(( but I was just at the airport and had to go on a bunch SO- Aaron Hotchner holding hands everytime we have to go on an escalator-

Working to hunt and apprehend the country's most dangerous criminals should mean that you're not scared of much. You can handle flying, you take the jet constantly. Being mugged is something you know you'll likely withstand, even if you're injured, because you can fight back. You have no unique fears, like birds or butterflies or cats- well, that is, excluding escalators.

They're just not your forte. Each time you ride one you fear falling, the constant, steady movement something that you need to spend far more than three seconds analyzing before hopping on. Unfortunately, as you're currently tracking down information from the third floor of a major airport, escalators are a must.

Aaron boards before you, and you thank the heavens that it means he doesn't see you linger. You set your hand on the railing, gut sinking as you feel it relentlessly move beneath your fingertips. Turning, sucking, pulling you in, pulling you down, pulling you under. You're so busy watching the belt turn that you miss the way Hotch has asked you a question, then turned to wonder after your response, and found you unmoving at the base of the escalator.

"Y/L/N," He calls, and your white-hot face snaps up to meet his gaze, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah." You nod, lifting your foot to board. But it won't lower itself onto the stairs in front of you. You briefly remember that it won't move on its own, that you'll need to control it, but you can't manage that, either.

Hotch scrutinizes you with a furrowed brow. When he has the evidence he needs, in your nervous glances and stiff limbs, he quickly descends the escalator, having moved even further away from you while speaking. He jogs down the stairs, moving himself faster than it's moving him, and nudges you out of the way to disembark.

"Come on," He urges, seeking out your hand in his own, "Grab the railing."

You lower your hand onto it with a shaky breath, and he squeezes your hand in encouragement. Your grip is loose enough for it to pass beneath you, but present, and he tugs you an inch forwards towards the escalator.

"I've got you," He pledges, holding your hand steadily, so that it grounds you, "Let's go."

He steps backwards onto the escalator, pulling you with him, and all of a sudden you're on it. He gives you no time to think, just pulls your hand so that your feet move too, and then you're doing it. Your legs feel locked, tight, and in danger of toppling you right over, and you fear you may be cutting off the circulation to Hotch's hand when you squeeze it, but if you are, he says nothing. He just stands there, glancing briefly backwards to ensure that he doesn't stumble while disembarking at the top.

"Good," He murmurs, a mere five seconds from the last stair, "Now, hold my hand, there you go, and- there."

He steps off, pulls you with him, then you're done. Then it's over, and you're standing fifteen feet higher than you had been before, feeling solid, unmoving ground below your feet.

"Hotch," You try, your voice painfully weak, "Um, I- I'm not-"

"It's alright." He brings his free hand to the one of yours that he's holding, sealing your hand between both of his and squeezing it warmly, "You don't have to tell me why, and you don't need to be embarrassed. Everyone's got something."

"Alright," You nod once, thankful for the out, but still in disbelief that you'd not only ridden an escalator, but that your boss had held your hand for the trip, and told you not to be ashamed, "Uh- thank you."

"Anytime." He nods, dropping only one of his hands. Anytime becomes right now, when he glances a few feet away at the next set of escalators, and that sinking feeling sets right back into your stomach.

"You can have a minute," Hotch uses your intertwined hands to lead you to a wall that you lean up against. To draw your mind away from the daunting mechanical hum of the escalators, you study Hotch's tie instead, not brave enough yet to look at his face.

After a moment, you speak: "Hotch?"

"Hm?"

"You said everyone has something."

"I did," He nods, anticipating your next question.

"What's yours?"

He takes a sharp breath in, then admits, "Mice."

Before you can react, though you'll gawp at him later for the answer, he drags you towards the next escalator.

"Ready?" He asks, and infers a yes when really you might have said no, stepping back onto the stairs.

It's a grueling ride, one that has you rife with nerves, but when you're finally standing on the third floor, you manage, "Mice?"

"Not important," He drops your hand to take your back instead, pushing you towards the help desk with vigor you don't typically see from your usually stoic boss, "Let's focus on our work, Agent."

YES OMGGG my daughter I would love to talk about her!!!

- I think Mu would take up embroidering as a small hobby! She loves making designs, usually flowers, and she hangs them up in her room and on her school desk :D very proud of her creations!

- Haruka also loves to share his art book and sketches with her!

- Her and Yuno would do karaoke together often, and they would get extremely petty about it on whoever gets the higher score lol (it’s all in good fun tho :3)

- Baby Mu would frequent her mother’s modeling gigs a lot and just be in awe with how beautiful she is, she tries to copy her movements and stuff but falls to the ground because she’s too tiny 😭

- Iirc she mentioned tropical fish in one of her interrogation questions, so I think it would be cool if that was her special interest! Very knowledgeable on many species of aquatic life :3

- She would help tutor occasionally with English and French (I feel like Amane would be curious enough to learn some French phrases), along with helping kids read and write if they’re having trouble!

- It would be interesting if she just never learned how to swim well, so she has a bit of a fear of large bodies of water as a result and she doesn’t feel comfortable swimming in them. At the beach she’s more of the person sitting in the shade and tanning lol

- If she’s ever at the pool or something, Mappi and Mikoto would help her swim and encourage her, much to her embarrassment (she appreciates it secretly tho <3)

- I feel like she would try and sneak in alcoholic drinks at a teen party and she would fail horribly LMAO and then Shidou and Kazui would lecture her and tell her to at least be discreet about it 💀

- During Halloween, she is easily spooked and Futa likes to mess with her sometimes because of that. She “accidentally” throws him down the stairs the next day <3

- ALTHOUGH she is the top person when it comes to costumes and stuff, so she always goes all out for her Halloween costume, or any outfit in general for an occasion

- Kotoko, who is not so big on Halloween, would be dragged by Mu all around because she wants to make a good costume for her, and Kotoko in the end, would begrudgingly end up mumbling about how she likes it just a little bit, and Mu would clap and yell in her own personal victory ✨

ZoSan: my first introduction to OP through doujin of all things when I was younger lol, my feelings towards these characters have morphed and changed and complicated over the years (regards to Sanji in particular), I have a lot to say both good and some bad about them but at the end of the day I'll always have a soft spot for curly and marimo in this little heart of mine, they're my old reliable <3

PenShach: I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers lmao, they've been glued to each other's sides through hell or high water (literally, with the tsunami that killed their respective parents), having their backs when things got rough at home with Shachi's aunt and uncle, swearing their loyalty to this weird kid who both beat them up for bullying an innocent polar bear and saved their lives, stumbling ass backwards through their attractions to other people, each other, and Penguin's gender - it's a sweet idea 💕

KilKidd: similar to PenShach in that they grew up together and learned to get along when they had no one but each other to rely on but on top of that also the absolute devotion and unwavering trust a first mate can have in his captain, the resolve to stick by him til the bitter end 🥹

Frobin: two jaded, hurt people doomed by fate and circumstance who are ultimately bound to one another and decide to build their way out of a shitty situation together, stronger - the fact that they're a little "older" as well (even though early-mid 30s shouldn't be considered old at all) but still managing to experience all these giddy, happy feelings you'd only expect from adolescence is very important to me 🥺💕 (they're also t4t bi4bis)

UsoNami: kids drawn to the open sea by a dream and realizing immediately that they were WAY in over their heads but bond over being the 'weakest links' in their group despite holding immeasurable value to the SHs in their specialized skills and friendships, they've also just always had a cute kind of chemistry that I like - girlboss with the silly guy who makes her laugh (also bi4bis but aside from Usopp I think Nami would be disinterested in guys entirely)

I like SmoAce, AceSan, and DeuAce all for different reasons - smug punk getting on an older man's last nerve every single day and babygirling the hell out of him at the same time, the push and pull/taboos of a pirate x marine dynamic, how both of them are a little dissatisfied with their lot in life (constantly being on the run with no place to return to, having to answer to uncaring and at worst outright cruel higherups that cared none for what their so-called "Justice" actually meant) and find comfort in each other for what few, temporary chances they get - Sanji's bisexual awakening/the immediate angst in the wake of Marineford and what that means for the feelings he has no where to put now because Ace always said it for him (because he was too scared to on his own) - that sweet sweet first mate/captain dynamic I love 😩👌 + I kind of like the Spade pirates as they were before joining WB and all, I want to know more about the people Ace deliberately chose to surround himself with rather than the family he was adopted into

Cindy was a bitch and she knew it. So having someone like her didn't slip her mind. let alone someone being nice to her? Out of everyone in this school and Y/N Y/L/N of all people being nice to her.

So when you came up to her complimenting her about how good she was at cheerleading, she was suspicious. I mean yeah, she was good at it and she knew it, but someone coming right up to her and saying it threw Cindy of guard. But Cindy let it go, i mean she was good so it was bound to happen sometime that someone recognized her amazing talents.

But then, came the smiling and waving, asking to be chemistry partners and the tips and tricks of cheerleading. Cindy started getting suspicious, could you have been part of the JSA? Some sort of spy? Cindy didn't really have anyone to go to, She would never talk to her father about these such things, her mother was an obvious no, Jenny well maybe Jenny.
