I don’t really like posts that are like “My music taste is sooo all over the place 🤪” because I think that it is normal and good to listen to a wide variety of musicians. However. I am going to make one of those posts because I need to write a personal apology to anyone who just heard me blasting Sufan Stevens’ Futile Devices, directly followed by Barenaked Ladies’ One Week. I forgot to roll my window back up after getting my parking ticket. I know the transition was jarring, it startled me too

i did not know about this song until i randomly was looking at the app last.fm and sufjans least streamed songs, and so i stumbled upon this and on the last.fm website it had a link to apple music, so i signed up for apple music’s 3 month trial and i still wasnt able to listen to it! But im so glad i looked it up just on the web and found this music video. It’s so american and just wow. I’m wondering if Opie is the same friend from Casimir Pulaski Day? Or CPD is a story Sufan made, while Opie is definitely someone Sufjan knew. Here’s a quote i found from the comments on the video, not 100% it’s trustable but whatever it sounds like something Sufjan would say. I have seen other people saying Opie was killed in seventh grade not elementary school. I dunno. Tell me what you think. (If anyone is reading this at least, also sorry for the bad grammar.)
