OM Characters Drinks From The New Cafe I Work At!
I work at another cafe, this isnt local, it is a chain, it is a Canadian chain, but its not Tim Hortons. 1000000 points to whoever knows what it is leggo (no seasonal drinks...that I’m aware of?) Lucifer: Just dark roast drip, black. When he’s feeling fancy he gets a triple shot flat white, sometimes with a shot of sugar free hazelnut flavouring. Mammon: Based on colour? Italian soda with citrus flavouring. On taste? This boy is a basic bitch, but he can’t handle caffeine, so its a decaf iced vanilla bean latte with oat milk, yknow to maintain his model physique.  Levi: Elderflower lemonade! It both fits his colour scheme and I imagine he likes citrus quite a bit! Satan: Matcha tea latte. Helps with his focus aksdkagdja Asmodeus: Strawberry Italian soda - both in taste and and appearance lmao, it is his guilty pleasure, though a honey vanilla tea latte with oat milk is his next favourite, then the vanilla bean latte....and the list goes on and onnnnn Beelzebub: mmmm I gotta say I struggled, but I wanna say Green Mango Boost smoothie bc we add protein to it lmao Belphie: Just for shits and giggles, this man is lactose intolerant. He gets a lactose free mocha- just as cozy as it is an awakening. Diavolo: Is it any surprise the the drink I invented for myself is gonna be the one I assign to him? It shouldn’t be lmaoooo. I love him and I love the drink, it was inspired by Raspberry Cordial (if you know what that is I’m kissing your head), the way I make it is a total of four pumps of raspberry flavouring, two of the citrus flavouring in a large cup. its an Italian Soda, which means it doesn’t mess with caffeine/ADHD, and this is less sweet version lmao, large Italian sodas are supposed to have a total of 12 pumps of whatever syrup, I don’t recommend getting that many aslkhdlask Barbatos: Just matcha tea with a little splash of soy milk. If he needs more caffeine, TRUST me, you will see it, maybe because he takes it like a shot. He steeps green tea in a double shot of espresso kashdkhsa Mephistopheles: Stumped. I’m giving him frozen hot chocolate. Simeon: He has either green tea to focus, with honey and a little oat milk, or he has a decaf caramel latte with oat or skim milk. Raphael: ....I don’t think he has experimented with much before, so he just...he gets white hot chocolate and very very hesitantly agrees to have a flavour added to it so long as its unsweetened. Also...he gets it with coconut milk? Luke: Loves most of the Italian sodas! He loves the flexibility of being able to choose a new flavour every time. Thirteen: Wifey is a chaos entity but her drink is a white hot chocolate with two pumps of strawberry flavouring because it tastes like drinking chocolate covered strawberries. Solomon: Only a monster would drink chocolate chip cookie dough Italian soda, so he is the one to drink it.

Smoothies (1 spoon)
Smoothies have on occasion bewildered and intimidated me. That’s probably mostly because I’ve only seen the offerings at speciality smoothie bars and ordering from those feels like Starbucks on acid. But with the combined issues of vitamin D deficiency and needing something resembling breakfast with minimal effort, I decided to give it a shot. And yes, most of the individual recipes for smoothie flavours aren’t bad, but it didn’t give a whole lot of feel for how to personalise it to something that, say, I specifically might want on any given day. I wanted something that broke smoothies down to their essential components so I could put them together in the ways that I saw fit.
I finally found that on The Spruce Eats - just a simple How To Make A Smoothie guide. Of course, like most other things out there, it lacks the notes on how to make it a little easier for someone who might struggle with some things, so after a few days of getting the hang of the whole deal, here’s the breakdown, and some added hints and tricks. Also I halved the original recipe because I don’t tend to need two servings of smoothie at a go, and that’s what their recipe gave.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup fruit / fruits of your choice (fresh or frozen)
1/2 to 1 cup ice (if using fresh fruit)
1/2 cup liquid (juice or milk)
1/4 cup yoghurt (optional)
Sugar or honey to taste
Yep, really that simple. Honestly, using frozen fruit is the best option here because you can bag them individually and just dump them out of a freezer bag into your blender or container as necessary, plus it means not dicking around with ice cubes. Frozen things can be an issue if using a hand mixer (more on that later) so anything to make it easier is good.
Here’s what you do:
Combine ingredients in blender
Blend
Serve
Yeah, that was kind of pointless, wasn’t it? I guess it just demonstrates how easy this actually is. However, especially if you’re using a hand mixer, it can be trickier than it necessarily needs to be. So here’s the notes I’ve figured out to make things easier when using a hand mixer and frozen fruit (I haven’t tried it with fresh because I don’t have an ice tray), and also generally more tasty.
Blending anything frozen is going to make a lot of noise and an equal amount of vibration. If you’re using a hand mixer, that’s going to cause some pain if you’ve got chronic pain issues, RSI, anything like that. To make it easier, put in the frozen fruit first, then add the liquid and sugar (and yoghurt if using it) and then let it sit for a minute or two. It’ll soften the fruit a little bit - not much, but enough to make a difference.
Yoghurt is actually a great addition to this. I’ve been using dairy free vanilla yoghurt and the vanilla comes through as a nice little added flavour touch, so experimenting with different flavours of yoghurt is probably worthwhile.
Honey tends to mix better than sugar, and I put ‘to taste’ because the half-teapoon or so they recommend didn’t make much difference when I was doing specific measurements. Then again, I was using fruit that’s known for being a bit tart (strawberry and mango, respectively - I should try them combined sometime) so your mileage may vary.
Seriously, even if you’re buying your frozen fruit, package it up into 1 cup servings. That way you’ll know how much you have left before you run out, so there’s no surprises of the “I only have enough fruit for half a smoothie” variety.
So there you have it: the smoothies that have been keeping me going on my first week with increased hours. Yep; I’ve been managing well enough on working from home to add five hours to my work week! A little strenuous, but the way things are going right now, if i want to eat properly, extra hours help. Lactose- and gluten-free foods aren’t cheap.

Mango: A Superfruit with Unique Flavor, Fragrance, and Health-Promoting Qualities
Mangoes, often referred to as a superfruit, are beloved for their irresistible flavor and fragrance. This tropical fruit is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients that make it a powerful addition to any diet. As one of the most popular fruits worldwide, mangoes offer not only taste but also a multitude of health benefits.
A Flavor Like No Other
Mangoes are known for their sweet, juicy flesh and distinct aroma, making them a favorite among fruit lovers. The combination of natural sugars and a tangy undertone gives mangoes a unique flavor profile that sets them apart from other fruits. Their versatility in the kitchen is unmatched, as they can be used in a variety of dishes, from smoothies and salads to salsas and desserts.
In addition to their flavor, mangoes boast a fragrance that is both sweet and tropical, evoking images of sun-soaked beaches and warm breezes. This signature scent is due to compounds like myrcene, which contribute to the fruit’s enticing aroma.
Nutritional Benefits of Mangoes
Mangoes are loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, making them an excellent addition to a healthy diet. A single serving of mango provides a significant amount of vitamin C, which supports the immune system, aids in wound healing, and enhances iron absorption. The fruit is also rich in vitamin A, which is essential for maintaining healthy eyesight and skin.
Mangoes are a great source of dietary fiber, which promotes healthy digestion and helps prevent constipation. The potassium found in mangoes plays a vital role in maintaining proper heart function and regulating blood pressure.
Health-Promoting Properties
In addition to their rich nutritional content, mangoes offer several health-promoting properties. They are packed with antioxidants like beta-carotene, which protects the body from oxidative stress and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. These antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to aging and disease.
Mangoes also contain natural enzymes that aid in digestion, particularly the breakdown of carbohydrates. This makes them a useful dietary addition for people looking to improve their digestive health. Furthermore, the polyphenols in mangoes have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may help reduce the risk of conditions such as arthritis and heart disease.
Mangoes as a Superfruit
Mangoes have earned the title of a superfruit due to their impressive combination of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Not only do they provide essential nutrients, but they also offer health benefits that support overall well-being. From boosting the immune system to promoting healthy digestion, mangoes are a versatile and delicious addition to any diet.

MACU Tea, 20 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91106
Tumblr media
MACU Tea took over the Yi Fang Fruit Tea space in Old Town Pasadena. It’s pretty similar to Yi Fang – serving tea from Taiwan and tea with fresh fruit. Choose fruit smoothies (mango, strawberry, grape), wintermelon drinks, lemon tea, brewed tea, milk tea, and fruit tea. You can add toppings, specify the level of sweetness, and the amount of ice. They don’t have grass jelly but they do have interesting toppings: noodle jelly, agar, coconut jelly, boba, and green tea jelly.
Ruby grapefruit li-li tea (10% sugar, 30% ice, with noodle jelly, $6.75): This was a nice, light, fruity tea. You could taste the tea and it was filled with fresh grapefruit pulp. The noodle jelly is clear, firm, chewy, and sweet. It reminded me of crystal boba.
During the soft opening, they were offering one free topping per drink. You can order from the kiosk or the cashier. There isn’t any seating and parking is tough in the area. They have a rewards program.

Making Healthy Ice Cream Rolls at Home
New Post has been published on https://thekitchnpro.com/ice-cream-making-healthy-ice-cream-rolls-at-home/
Making Healthy Ice Cream Rolls at Home
Tumblr media
If you love ice cream but want to eat healthier, try making it yourself with an ice cream maker like Our Ice Cream Maker! It’s easy to use and will allow you to make healthy frozen treats in no time! Plus, when your friends and family see you creating your own ice cream rolls at home, they’ll be so impressed they won’t even realize they’re eating something low in calories and sugar! A great gift idea for any occasion
What is an Ice Cream Roll Maker?
An ice cream roll maker is a machine that produces fresh and fun ice cream rolls. Making these rolls isn’t difficult; it simply requires time and patience to make sure you’re doing it correctly. Also, if you want to make homemade frozen desserts like smoothies or milkshakes, you can buy an instant ice cream maker for your home.
Benefits of Using an Ice Cream Maker
With summer almost here, it’s time to take advantage of ice cream maker recipes! Did you know that using an ice cream maker is actually healthier than regular homemade ice cream? The following are some benefits of using an instant ice cream maker. Skip The Sugars: As mentioned above, one of the main reasons people opt for instant ice cream over regular homemade versions is because it skips or significantly reduces added sugars. This allows individuals with diabetes to enjoy a sweet treat in moderation without having to worry about carbs and sugar intake. Fresh Ingredients: Another great reason why many people prefer instant ice cream makers is because they get all their ingredients right from home instead of picking up something pre-made on-the-go.
How to Use an Ice Cream Roller
Making your own ice cream rolls is a fun way to create healthier versions of your favorite desserts. The process itself isn’t complicated, but you can roll out homemade ice cream in any flavor you want—and it only takes 10 minutes. If you have an instant ice cream maker, here’s how to use it: First, freeze a non-stick surface for about 4 hours before making your batch of frozen treats. Then add two scoops of vanilla or fruit-flavored ice cream and spread evenly on a surface coated with a layer of butter or cooking spray. To make sure everything sticks together when you try to slice them later on, leave enough space between each scoop so that they don’t merge into one solid block.
What Ingredients do I Need?
At first glance, you may think making ice cream rolls requires an impossible number of ingredients; however, that’s not true. You can easily make your own healthy ice cream using only 3 ingredients. Here are 3-ingredient recipes for banana ice cream, pineapple sorbet and mango sorbet. These fruity treats are simple to make and use only three ingredients. Once you have these tasty frozen desserts in hand, roll them up with a layer of chocolate sauce and a sprinkling of crushed nuts on top. After a few hours in the freezer, you’ll have made yourself tasty ice cream rolls!
How Many Ingredients Can I Use?
An ice cream maker allows you to make frozen desserts with only a few, simple ingredients. If you’re not used to making your own ice cream, however, it can be hard to know how many different flavors and ingredients you can mix together in an instant ice cream maker. In general, all you need is some flavor-infused water (fruit juice or whatever else sounds good), a little sweetener (brown sugar or whatever else sounds good) and egg yolks if you want creamy texture. The overall ratio should be about 1 cup of liquid per 2 cups of sugar—so feel free to experiment until you get a recipe that tastes great!
Tips and Tricks for Perfect Frozen Treats
Get ready to knock your sweet tooth out of commission with these tips and tricks for homemade frozen treats. You don’t have to give up your favorite ice cream rolls just because you’re trying to stay healthy—but you will need a few extra tools, like an ice cream maker that cranks out more than just one flavor. 5-Minute Frozen Treat: Try making some fruit popsicles! They’re perfect for those hot summer days when it seems too hot to eat anything but icy-cold comfort food. Just roll or chop your favorite fresh fruit into bite-sized pieces, then mix them together in a blender until they are smooth enough to pour into popsicle molds. The result is pure summertime fun. If you really want something decadent, consider adding chocolate syrup or whipped cream on top!
