this type of habit that he developed is something he really can't help: though he trusts you to take care of yourself, he just wants the best for you.

Or rather, what with all the recent concerts, fancalls and fansigns, all you’re seeing on your for you page are clips of your boyfriend interacting with his fangirls. How many times have you seen the caption, ‘Sunoo noticed me!’, or watched a video of Sunoo briefly interlocking fingers with another girl? You are always coming across concert videos with a shaking camera pointed towards Sunoo, who points their way with a warm smile and hand heart. 

You quickly look up from your phone to cross the road, slowly growing tired of the repetitive posts you’re viewing. 

But you’re pretty much used to it. Some of Sunoo’s fans have asked you whether or not you get jealous often, and you can safely (and honestly) say that you don’t. They look at you disbelievingly, but don’t question you further. They just slink back into the crowd, desperate for a glimpse of their idol. 

You can’t blame them for being curious. 

What you don’t ask them, however, even though you’re sorely tempted to, is, ‘why would I ever feel jealous?’ What’s there to be jealous about when Sunoo gives you morning kisses that only you receive? You run towards where the crowd congregates, screams and whistles for all the members arising from the hundreds of fans. A few brightly coloured heads at the edge of the crowd helps you distinguish where the members are. Rushing forward with only one purpose (to greet all the members, not just Sunoo, of course!), you squeeze past all the people. You don’t bother to wave towards all the fans who recognise you. 

“Kim Sunoo!” You scream, probably blending in with all his fangirls when you reach the barricade and lean against it. You whip your phone out to capture this moment, whether he notices you or not, because all you want is to have your very own video to post, to caption with the tag “‘Kim Sunoo noticed me!”

He’s busy on the other side of the street, forming hand-hearts with dazed teenagers and waving cheerily at their general crowd. You’re starting to lose hope in him even seeing you, but when he turns around to check in on your side of the road, his eyes sparkle when they meet yours. He pretends not to act pleasantly surprised when you beckon him over.

“My girl,” he whispers happily, ignoring the collective gasp from everyone around you as he pulls you in and kisses your cheek. Heart starting to race, your cheeks grow warm where he kissed you, and you can’t help but gaze starstruck after him as he walks off, giggling teasingly your way.

it was a normal morning. it was.

walking down to the great hall with your best friend, sunoo, for breakfast - it was your daily routine. it had been for the past 4 years.

you'd wait for each other in the common room every morning, then make your way to the hall for breakfast. sunoo would be complaining about some teacher or classmate while you speed-run some homework due the other day.

then, you'd leave for your classes, but not without sunoo stuffing some toast up your mouth, because you never actually eat much in the mornings. not when you're completing work you should have done earlier. this morning was just like every other - until an owl dropped a red envelope at sunoo's plate.

suddenly, the other students sitting nearby you guys silenced, eyeing the howler in front of your best friend. howlers were never a good thing to receive. they were often sent by parents to their children who had been particularly naughty.

"are you in trouble?" someone asked, but no one could believe it. after all, sunoo was a good student, great even. he was a ball of sunshine, and did well at school. he had no enemies, not when a smile from him could send anyone melting on the inside.

so what the hell was a howler doing in front of him?

"you should open it soon," you told him, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. his eyes remained fixed on the letter. "to get it over with."

it seemed like the whole hall leaned away as sunoo slowly reached for it, confused and afraid of what it might contain.

a moment later, the envelope exploded, and a distorted voice started roaring from it, garnering everyone's attention.

"DEAR SUNOO, YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THIS IS, BUT I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOW.

"I LIKE YOU. I HAVE FOR A WHILE NOW, AND IT'S SO HARD KEEPING THESE FEELINGS TO MYSELF. NOT WHEN YOU'RE SO PERFECT, AND AMAZING, AND BRILLIANT, AND TALENTED.

"I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO RECIPROCATE MY FEELINGS, BUT I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW, THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO CARE FOR YOU - LIKE ME.

a silence fell over the hall, as the howler burst into flames and ashes.

everyone had heard, and everyone was now staring at your best friend - who remained stunned in his seat, a hand over his mouth.

"sunoo?" you asked tentatively. the hand you placed on his shoulder seemed to wake him up.

he was about to say something when everyone burst into chatter about what had just happened, whistles echoing throughout the hall.

"whew!" jake, another of sunoo's friends, clapped his back. "now that's one way to confess." sunghoon nodded with a grin, holding his chuckle in as he stood slightly behind his fellow ravenclaw.

"no," sunoo whined, hiding his face completely behind his hands. "a good way of confessing is telling me who they really are. only cowards hide behind anonymity."

you rubbed his back comfortingly, trying to form words in your head.

"everyone's going to be talking about it for the rest of the day," sunghoon remarks.

"don't remind me," sunoo said, his voice muffled.

"are you okay?" you ask him, bending to try and get a look at his face. he turns his head slightly, and you see his face flushed red.

"oh!" you laugh. "did you like that?"

"of course he did," jake chuckled. "you know our sunoo, he loves the attention." he reached out to ruffle the boy's hair, but sunoo fought his hands away before jake could do anything.

"stop doing that!" he whined. "i'm just a little embarrassed. now everyone's in my business," he mumbled, sitting up and putting his red cheeks on full display.

"i think it's cute," you say, reaching up to comb his hair with your hand. you heard jake grumble about how sunoo only ever lets you touch his hair.

"ah sunoo," sunghoon sighed, patting the younger boy. "ever the lover for grand gestures, aren't you?"

sunoo huffed. "whatever. me and y/n are going to class now. i'm not listening to you two idiots any longer."

and then he up and left, taking you with him by the wrist.

the next week, another howler arrived for sunoo. everyone was curious now.

"DEAR SUNOO, I HOPE YOU'RE SMILING WHEN YOU GET THIS NEXT MESSAGE. IT ALWAYS BRIGHTENS UP MY DAY.

"I HEAR YOU THINK I'M A COWARD FOR REMAINING ANONYMOUS. I THINK SO TOO. BUT, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT ME, I'LL TELL YOU ONE.

"I LIKE YOUR SOFT, FLUFFY HAIR, AND THE WAY YOU STYLE YOURSELF. IT ALWAYS AMAZES ME HOW YOU CAN MAKE OUR BORING UNIFORM INTO YOUR OWN. YOU INSPIRE ME.

"SINCERELY, YOUR NOT-SO-SECRET ADMIRER."

sunoo scoffed, but a smile tugged at his lips anwyay.

"is that even a fact about themself?" he asked you with a pout. "everyone likes my hair!"

the other students resumed their previous chit-chat, some trying to guess who the anonymous sender might be. you just shrugged and continued to eat your food, frantically trying to complete an essay for charms later that day.

"your admirer doesn't seem to have any plans of actually revealing who they are, huh?" sunghoon asked sunoo. him and jake had decided to sit with you two at the hufflepuff table this morning.

"no," sunoo sighed. "cowardly on another level - giving me hope, only to pull that on me!"

"maybe they'll reveal more in their next letter?" you try to comfort him.

"they better," he grumbled. "i need to know who it is."

"maybe it's someone you know!" jake says. "if they feel the need to distort their voice so they won't be recognised, maybe you know them."

"that barely narrows the pool of possibilities down! i know practically everyone at hogwarts," your best friend whined.

"it's only the second letter. you can't exactly guess much from two howlers," you tell him, still focused on your essay. you groan as you scribble out a whole paragraph.

"oh my god," sunghoon gasped, staring at your textbook from the other side of the table. "i totally forgot about that assignment."

"you idiot," jake smacked the taller boy's head. sunghoon reached for your textbook to look at the content, but you pulled it back.

"i can't let you see my textbook - i've written notes all over it," you say, embarrassed. sunghoon wouldn't be able to read much over all the post-it notes you've stuck on the pages.

"more like you've doodled all over it," sunoo laughed.

"listen - drawing cutesy little stars and hearts on the page is more interesting than professor kim drawling on about the goblin rebellion of 1612, okay?" you defended yourself.

jake raised an eyebrow. you could tell he wanted to laugh.

"whatever, just let me finish this essay. i'm almost done."

"i'm not! i haven't even started," sunghoon groaned. the three of you laughed as he leaned on jake's side, dragging his hands down his face with a whine.

over the next few weeks, sunoo would continue to receive howlers, garnering everyone's attention every time the owls swooped into the hall to drop off mail. in fact, it's become something the whole school started looking forward to - the only thing that had them excitedly running for the hall at the beginning of another hellish week of school.

waiting for another red envelope to plop onto sunoo's plate had become regular. the usual screaming into his face had become your normal monday mornings.

you realised that there were now several students sending him howlers, because he would receive 2-3 howlers every week, all with distinctly different voices and handwriting.

"seems like your original sender has got competition," jake giggled as sunoo rubbed his ear.

"i'm going deaf with all these letters screeching at me every week," he rolled his eyes, feeding you some fish from your own plate. you were working on more homework that you'd missed out on recently (what's new?). "and besides, none of them will ever beat the original."

"even riki's?" you asked, laughing. the second year had latched onto sunoo on his first day at hogwarts, and somehow joined the group of boys, despite being a lot younger.

he'd joined the trend of sending sunoo howlers one morning, although it was obviously him without the distorted voice. none of the other senders had bothered to cover up their voices.

"riki's 'confession' was him thanking me- actually, more like exposing me for bringing him some butterbeer from our last hogsmeade weekend!" sunoo cries in exasperation. "i had to put on the biggest puppy eyes i could when professor jeon pulled me aside to ask about it."

"i told you it was a stupid idea," sunghoon said solemnly, but the twitching of his lips betrayed his amusement.

"he threatened me to! that brat."

"i heard that!" riki's voice yelled from the slytherin table, next to hufflepuff's.

"that kid's crazy," you gasped through your laughter.

"he's going to ruin the fun," sunghoon sighed. "after his letter, the professors started talking of banning students from sending howlers to each other."

"what?" sunoo gasped. "how am i going to receive letters from my secret admirer?"

"they can just send you normal, written letters," you suggested.

"but it's way more interesting when their deformed voice is screaming about how much they love me," he pouted.

"oh, he's down bad," jake shook his head.

sunoo ignored him. "i miss them," he sighed instead. the original secret admirer hadn't been able to send a howler in 2 weeks, much to everyone's disappointment.

"look at him! he's missing someone he doesn't even know!" jake gawked in disbelief.

"i'm trying to figure it out."

"really? how?" sunghoon asked.

"i have a list of things they mentioned about themself, and other things i've figured out, on my phone."

"can we see?" you asked, curious.

"no!"

"why not?" jake pouted.

"i don't want you guys to figure it out. i want to be the one to do it," sunoo huffed stubbornly.

"but you'd figure it out sooner with all of us!" sunghoon says.

"with you?" sunoo gaped at the tall boy. "you may be ravenclaw, but you do not have the brains to actually be of any help."

"touche," sunghoon folded his arms and shrugged. "but hey, jake can help! and y/n!"

"the answer is no."

"well, you better figure it out soon, before the school actually bans us from sending howlers to each other," you tell him. he stares at you intently for a moment, then nods.

just then, another red envelope is dropped onto his plate. sunoo sighs as he shifts forward to open it, expecting another confession from a newer sender.

"DEAR SUNOO, I HOPE YOU HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ME YET."

it was the original sender. sunoo switched his full attention onto the howler; everyone else quietened to listen in.

"I'M SORRY I HADN'T BEEN ABLE TO TALK TO YOU THE LAST FEW WEEKS. YOU KNOW SENDING YOU THESE LETTERS ARE MY FAVOURITE THING TO DO.

"YOU SEEM TO BE DOING WELL. I SAW YOU THE OTHER DAY, WITH CUTESY BOWS IN YOUR HAIR THAT YOUR FRIEND HAD PUT IN. THE SMILE ON YOUR FACE WAS HAPPIER THAN I'D EVER SEEN IT. I HOPE ONE DAY TO BE THE CAUSE BEHIND SUCH A PRETTY SMILE.

"ACCORDING TO THE RUMOURS THAT THE SCHOOL IS BANNING HOWLERS, THIS MAY BE MY LAST LETTER. IF IT IS, I'M GLAD THAT I GOT TO TELL YOU HOW I FELT, EVEN IF I'LL NEVER KNOW IF YOU LIKE ME BACK.

even after the red letter set on fire and burned to ashes, your best friend's eyes remained fixated on the space in front of him. he stared into nothing, seemingly in a daze after the (possibly) last howler he'd ever get from his favourite anonymous admirer. you wondered what he was thinking.

"sunoo?" you prodded. he turned to look at you, eyes blown wide open.

it's like something clicked. his siren-like eyes pulled you in, engaging you into a staring contest. while the rest of the world continued, you two were stuck in your own timeless little space.

his eyes were always your favourite feature. you wished you could see the world through his beautiful eyes, even if for just a moment.

"hello?" sunghoon tapped you on the shoulder. you finally broke away from the hold sunoo had on you. "we've got to get to class."

"oh, right."

for the rest of the day, you couldn't seem to look directly at your best friend, still replaying the events of that morning.

it was clear sunoo had taken quite a liking to the anonymous sender, no matter how silly it sounded. in the weeks following their first letter, he would talk about them nonstop. his eyes twinkled and his cheeks got especially rosy whenever he did, and he also loved to speculate about who or what the person was like.

you listened whole heartedly, his voice soothing you after a long day of school. even if he was talking about someone else, or at least an illusion of a person he'd created.

sunoo had gotten frustrated with you for avoiding him all day. so he resorted to cornering you in the hufflepuff common room before you two went back up to your dorms.

"y/n. stop it."

"stop what?" you asked innocently.

"don't play dumb. why have you been ignoring me all day?"

"no i haven't."

"you're a terrible liar."

"how would you know?" you crossed your arms.

"you fiddle with your thumbs whenever you lie. you also comb your hair with your hands, fold your arms, stand up straighter, scrunch your nose-"

"okay, okay. i get it," you shook your head. "i'm sorry."

"you should be. i've been missing my best friend all day," he pouted.

you fell apart at his expression, and engulfed him in a hug. "i'm sorry, i didn't mean it. i hope you're okay."

"i would be better if you shared this hot chocolate with me by the fire place. i brought both mugs from the kitchens all by myself - and they're really hot!"

"fine," you laughed, and took a mug from one of his hands.

you two settled into the couches by the warm fire place, and you watched the flickering light from the flames reflect onto his hazel eyes.

"you always look at me like that."

"like what?" you asked.

"like you're obsessed with me," he grinned.

"sounds like you're obsessed with me," you retorted with a giggle. "to the point you even notice the way i look at you."

"why wouldn't i be?"

your smile dropped. you looked down at your cup, your reflection in the drink swirling.

"you can't just say things like that."

"why not?" you stayed silent.

he continued. "why can't i talk about how much i love my best friend? why can't i tell you the little things i notice about you? why can't you just look at me?"

"because!" you exclaimed suddenly. you cleared your throat awkwardly when you garnered a few looks. you spoke again in a lower tone.

"it makes me feel things- things i shouldn't be feeling for a friend."

"well, i would hope not. i'm not just your friend, i'm your best friend."

"but that's the thing, sunoo," you sighed. "sometimes, i feel like i don't want to be just best friends. i look at you and see someone with a sweet smile, and with an even sweeter personality. i've never met someone who's as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside.

"when i look at you, it feels like the world is clearer, easier to bear. when i look at you, i see someone i want to spend the rest of my life with - someone i love."

sunoo was silent for a moment.

and you were so scared that you messed it up, your friendship. you couldn't stand the deafening absence of his voice, overtaken by the crackle of the flames and background voices.

just when you were about to stand up to go hide in your room, he finally spoke up.

"are you the original anonymous sender?"

you froze in place.

"you are, aren't you?"

"how... how did you figure it out?"

"i wasn't entirely sure at first. but like i said earlier, i've been trying to gather details from your previous letters.

"in the second letter you'd sent, you mentioned my hair was soft and fluffy. i don't really let anyone touch my hair, because they'd definitely ruin it," he rolled his eyes. "well, except you. but i figured the sender probably meant it looked soft and fluffy, so i just brushed it off.

"but then things started to add up. one time, the letter smelled like dittany, which we had made in herbology just that previous friday. another time, i noticed that the 'addressed to' writing at the front used navy blue ink, instead of black or blue. you're the only person i know who uses that colour.

"and then, when you fell sick recently, the letters stopped. but i was so worried for you that i didn't even notice, until you mentioned it in your letter today.

"i realised it was most likely you when your letter said the word 'cutesy' in your howler today. i've known you for years, you think i wouldn't have noticed the way you speak?" he laughed quietly.

"so.. you knew this whole time?"

"i suspected it, but not definitely."

"and you never told me."

"i didn't want to force a confession out of you," he admitted. "i wanted you to tell me yourself."

"so now what?" you asked. you still weren't sure where his own feelings lay. sure, he knew that you were the not-so-secret admirer, but did he like you?

every time you saw him smiling at another letter (even if it was howling in his face on a monday morning), you felt even more scared to tell him how you felt. you watched as he came to like the anonymous sender, and not you. he had created his own persona for the sender, and it was definitely not you. you were scared that he would be disappointed to find out it was you after all, and not his dream person.

"you're over thinking again," he said simply.

"can you blame me?"

"for the record, i love you too," he said, setting the cup down and taking your hands in his. "you didn't have to resort to howling at me to get my attention, or something like that. i've only ever looked at you. and i will only ever look at you; in my world, you're the only one in it."

tears leaked out of your eyes. "so i did all of that for nothing?"

sunoo laughed and wiped your cheeks, caressing them with the soft touch of his thumbs. "no, nothing like that! i realised my feelings for you when i got that first howler, because when i pictured who might be behind those red letters, i could only imagine you. the thought of it being anyone else made me cringe."

"what if it wasn't me?" you pouted playfully.

"then i would have rejected them, if they ever confessed to me for real. and i would have loved you with my whole being, even if you never liked me back."

"you would have cried yourself to sleep every night," you laugh, a croak in your voice from crying just moments ago. you know him too well.

"you're right! so thank god that wasn't the case." sunoo hugged you tighter, and you wrapped your arms around his middle. a satisfied sigh escapes your lips.

right then, you also thank whatever being out there let you meet your best friend. and you're grateful that you can give sunoo all of your love without holding back - not-so-secretly anymore.

the frost from the cold tile beneath you both was warded off with his fluffy socks and your work shoes.

you slowly rocked your body weight from side to side as guided by sunoo.

your boyfriend’s hands were lazily placed around your middle as your own played with the hair behind his neck. there was still sleep in his playful eyes, and his dark chocolate locs looked like antennae - as if he was trying to tune into the radio.

it was his idea in the first place, to dance before you had to leave for work, but now he appeared to long for a bed.

“yes, but, we both know you’re a terrible dancer.”

“hey! yes i am! i just haven’t had anything to drink.” you snicker, whacking his chest hard enough for his droopy eyes to turn attentive.

“exactly, and you’re not drinking at 5:30 in the morning.” he brings you closer and rests his head on top of yours, “i still don’t understand why you choose to get up this early every morning.”

“i have to. morning traffic is the worst.”

his nods cause your head to move as well and you stifle a laugh. you look up at him and he looks down at you, locking you both in a staring battle of who can look more tired.

“go to back to sleep sunoo, i’ll see you tonight.” you smile and kiss him softly before letting go. he pouts but nod. sunoo doesn’t leave his spot until he hears the door close.

sunoo slumps his way to the bedroom and cuddles in under the duvet, before falling asleep and dreaming of nothing. (except you).

Drowned in your own thoughts. Rethinking your life decisions. Close to tears at the mere thought of it. A small part of you not wanting to forgive your friend forever.

The irritation didn’t stop coursing through your veins even after a whole ten minutes. Maybe it was because you kept thinking about it. Realising your mistake, you got off the couch (which you left a little dent in due to the prolonged period of time you sat on it) and searched for something to occupy yourself with. Your eyes immediately landed on the ajar door leading to your cat’s room. A smile plastered itself onto your face as you made your way to the room, slowly opening it lest the furry little creature was right behind the door.

Luckily, it wasn’t, and you were fortunate to have opened the door gently, as your cat was staring towards your direction with wide eyes, presumably terrified of what might be approaching. When it saw your full frame, it was reassured that nothing was going to hurt it, and trotted towards you to claim its unlimited cuddles that it had been deprived of for the past twelve hours.

This new activity seemed to distract you from the agonising thought of your spoiled drama, as you were occupied for the next hour and a half. Your attention was fully focused on your adorable feline which you named Haru, meaning ‘sun’ in Japanese. It reminded you of your boyfriend — plus, your cat seemed to love sunlight.

You giggled as Haru attempted to chase its tail, a movement you thought only dogs did. You reached out to grab your cat by its body and pull it closer to you, scratching its chin and making it purr in delight. You showered it in kisses and compliments as it gave you tiny licks of appreciation.

You were so concentrated on your cat that you hadn’t realised your boyfriend had come back home from running an errand. He quietly opened the door, not wanting to disturb your time with little Haru. He stood there, watching your cute interaction with the pet you’ve always wanted since you were young (obviously, it was the first thing you got once you settled into your new, shared apartment with him). After some time, he decided to notify you of his arrival.

“Hi,” he said softly, crouching down to your height to wrap you in his arms (with the cat) and place a kiss at the crown of your head. You giggled out a ‘hello’ in response. Haru hissed at suddenly being squashed a little, which made him retreat with a tiny pout. You laughed softly at their actions.

“How was your day?” he asked, smoothening Haru’s messy fur then glancing toward you. You seemed to recoil when you heard the question, having been reminded of the spoiler your friend gave. It triggered the anger that you had put in much effort trying to lock away, as well as the rant that you’ve been holding in since hours ago.

Sensing your fury, your cat retreated back into its little house and settled on its bed, deciding to go to sleep because it knew you weren’t going to give it attention when you were ranting.

“So just about two hours ago,” you began, Sunoo trying to stifle his laugh at the sudden change in demeanour, “Bomi finished that drama I was going to watch, and she was …”

He grabbed you by the sides and gently pulled you up to get you standing. Night was falling quickly and Sunoo wanted to get you into your routine before it was too late. You continued rambling and being the most wonderful boyfriend he was, he made sure to listen to every word you said while he helped you through your routine.

After you’d changed into your most comfortable pyjamas, he figured you hadn’t eaten anything yet, so he ordered takeout from your favourite restaurant and settled into bed with you. You had come to the end of your rant and was tired from all the talking, which Sunoo noticed almost immediately. He brought your head to the crook of his neck and said, “Take a nap. I’ll wake you up when food comes. I ordered from your favourite restaurant.” Though he couldn’t see it (he probably felt it instead), you were smiling.

Then he suggested rewatching your favourite movie to get your mind off the one you hadn’t started on yet. You nodded and wrapped your arms around him, feeling so much better after talking your heart out.

At the end of the day, when you thought back on the spoiler you were given, it didn’t seem to bother you much. Maybe it was just Sunoo.

Spoiler: It is, and you two watch the drama together a year later. You totally forgot about the ending.

heeseung sat in his dimly lit room, fully immersed in the virtual world of gaming. his fingers moved deftly across the keyboard, and his eyes were fixed on the screen as he navigated his character through the challenges of the game. the sound of intense battle music filled the room as he tackled his virtual foes. “NIKI ON YOUR RIGHT, FIGHT HIM!” heeseung yelled through his mic, his eyes still fixated to the screen

little did he know that someone was quietly sneaking up behind him.

as he played, a pair of arms gently wrapped around his shoulders, and a soft, warm voice whispered in his ear, "heeseung, you're so focused on your game."

heeseung jumped in his seat, his character in the game suffering an unfortunate fate as he turned to see you, his girlfriend, standing there with a mischievous smile on your face. you looked particularly stunning tonight, and the way you had your hair styled and your choice of outfit made his heart race. your outfit was simple, just a plain white spaghetti top with some gray shorts, but to heeseung’s eyes you were gorgeous.

"you scared me!" heeseung exclaimed, laughing nervously as he tried to regain his composure. he leaves the call with niki.

His outgoing sense of humor and your random sense of humor is a combination that others love to watch the outcome of. That, and you love teasing him more than anything else. You just find it so easy to point out the weird or unusual things he does that’ll make you both die a little bit (him from faux embarrassment and you from giggles). It’s all fun and games for you until Jake decides to tease back, a common occurrence in your relationship. Because the one thing you can’t handle is his flirtiness. He knows you so well since his initial extrovertedness made you comfortable enough to be yourself around him, and therefore, he knows what makes you tick and hide your face in your hands. So you have to remind yourself that if you take it too far with teasing him, you’re most likely going to get some interesting words whispered in your ear or his nose brushing against yours or his hands running along the expanse of your thighs. Something along those lines.

Jake is the one who pushes you out of your comfort zone the most and the one you often do new things with. You’ve learned a lot with him: how to not care as much about what others think, truly believing that it’s okay to make more mistakes, etc. You’re a pair that has grown with each other and therefore, knows what it takes to strengthen each other’s weaknesses and when it passes the other’s boundaries. ᱖ You didn’t really believe in the importance of friendship before dating until you met Sunoo, who is someone who understands that deep connections are important for good relationships. You became close friends with him before your relationship took a romantic turn, and you wouldn’t want it any other way. With the rest of your partners (while you have no complaints about how they came to be your lovers) the friendship stage was skipped a bit since they had always been kind of romantic towards you. Sunoo is one of the exceptions to this. During I-Land, you didn’t spend a lot of time with him until Chamber 5, where you both were quick to bond over the stresses of struggling health-wise and the thoughts of not debuting. Both then and now it’s easy for you to relate to each other, and it’s effortless when you’re sharing your feelings and thoughts. Sunoo is the kind of person who the majority of the time hates putting strict restraints on his life so when he felt an attraction towards you starting to grow, he simply accepted it and began turning even more of his attention to you. Sunoo and you have a lot in common and you both already spent most of your time together, so it was difficult to pick up on his feelings at first.

But once he joined the relationship, his affections became much more clear (and obvious, cause when it comes to your boys you tend to be a little blind). He’s big on quality time and words of affirmation, so you make sure to be with him for long periods when you’re able to: he likes doing skincare together, doing random quizzes, playing video games, etc. And you’re always there to praise him and give him even more confidence. Sunoo’s comfortable with his femininity, which does wonders for your guys’ relationship. He’s never embarrassed to do anything with you that other guys might consider “girly”, it’s rare for him to feel threatened by others, and he’s always keeping in mind things you don’t like. You don’t like deciding where to eat? That’s fine, he can do it this time. One of the members is struggling to get a gift for you? They’ll go to Sunoo first. He makes sure whoever's room you’re sleeping in has a fan loud enough for white noise. Basically, despite him being more feminine than the others, he’s still good at providing and leading your guys’ relationship. You’re always making sure he’s taking care of himself as well. Sometimes, Sunoo struggles with motivation and productivity, so you’re always making him good food and helping him complete little tasks.

It was a surprise to you when you found out that Sunoo’s not a fan of physical affection. You always do your best to respect this boundary, but you do tend to be quite a loving person, so sometimes you forget about how much he enjoys his personal space. Except for the times when you grab onto his arm to hold onto… and the times when you come to him for cuddles. Basically, he makes an exception for you, even if it only lasts for a few minutes. Jungwon is a very fun person to be around. Not only is he extremely funny, but he’s also the only member that is also a 04 liner. So it’s not abnormal for you to bite him sometimes as your coping mechanism for his adorableness. Another result is that you’re usually all over him, which makes him the second person of the “yn clingy line” (or whatever you want to call it). When he sits down, you’re not far behind him, going straight for his lap and your head falling onto his shoulder. When he’s standing up, you slip underneath his arm and hug his waist, waddling along with him when he decides it’s time to move. And cuddling with Jungwon has to top all of it. ᱖ Sangmi just kind of appeared when you were both trainees and immediately after two words were exchanged you became best friends. It was like you spawned in for each other. With her, you don’t feel the need to be anything you aren’t or the need to try and fill silences. You understand each other’s humor to the point where you’ll say the same niche references at the same time and start making obscure references that only the other would laugh at. You just get each other. It’s as simple as that. You’ve been through so much together: training, fighting for a spot in Enhypen, learning how to become an idol, and facing all of the hate the world has to offer. If it weren’t for her, you probably wouldn’t have even made it through the first part of I-Land. She was the only one who constantly stood up for you and made sure you were okay, and you both confided in each other and built a level of trust where you would pick her over anyone. And vice versa, of course. You tell each other everything and anything, so it’s like you guys share the same brain. She knows when you get tired of being out and about and you know when she gets into the headspace when the only thing she does is beat herself up. Therefore, you both also know all of the ways to help each other feel better. Even if it’s just lying in silence.

You’re always getting in trouble with her too, since it’s rare for you both to shut up when you’re together. Choreographers always have to scold you and when Enhypen is on tour sometimes the only way to separate you from Sangmi is if one of the boys literally carries you away. She’s like your cool older sister who you’re absolutely obsessed with and that you want to be just like. So sometimes you might steal her clothes without asking or use her lipstick, but she never gets mad at you because she does those exact same things too. You have to be careful when you’re shopping with Sangmi because anything you pick up or call “cute” she’ll buy it for you even if you insist you don’t actually want it (okay Sugar Mommy) and sometimes it makes you want to cry when you think about how generous and supportive she is. Being supportive is one of her strongest qualities so in return you do your best to shower her with love as well. Doing small tasks with her like running groceries, hyping her up, being understanding and listening, and making it clear that you truly know her.

You guys never really fight either. When you do, it’s more of a silent treatment until you hang out again and you say, “I was mad at you cause you blah blah blah” and then it’s easy to talk everything out. You’re really protective of her so if anyone so much as spells her name wrong on purpose they’re getting a side eye from you. Sangmi and you are like Sunshine x Sunshine and are convinced that you’re twins even though you don’t share a mother. You’re closer than best friends, and honestly, you actually are twins because you share part of the same soul. At your guys’ core, you are one.

he thinks you're adorable. whenever you guys make eye contact, he can't help but smile before ruffling your hair and looking away. whenever he walks by you, he gives you a pat on the head to make his presence known. when you guys are laying in bed together, he will lazily run his hands in your hair in his sleepy stage- eyes closed, both relaxed. you groan every time he does this, saying he's messing your hair up, but you secretly love it.

running his thumb over yours when you hold hands

the pad of his thumb caresses over your hand every time you guys are holding hands. the strokes bring you somewhat of a comfort, and it's a sweet way you guys are interacting really subtly. he does this because he loves the feeling of having you with him, the feeling of your hand in his. no words, just love expressed through small gestures of physical contact.

rests his head in your lap

though he's the oldest in enhypen, he's the youngest in his family, which i feel exposes itself through your relationship. he lies in your lap and looks at you with the cutest smile that makes you fold. he'll fall asleep here, he'll go on his phone here, he'll tell you all the gossip while you stroke his hair here: your lap is his favorite place to be.

hes obsessed with protecting every bit of you, meaning that he loves making you feel safe covered in his arms. when you sit on his lap, his arms are tightly around your body. when you're standing around, something (jay) snakes around you and keeps you company from behind, asking questions about what you're doing. when you're cooking at the counter, he will stand behind you, bending so close that you feel the warmth of his breath on your neck (AHH)

a quick kiss before he leaves for all his schedules of the day, a kiss when he wakes up and sees you looking all cute in the corner, a kiss as a greeting when he sees you sitting alone: he loves forehead kisses. he does it almost like a traditional type of thing: it's not a normal day without a forehead kiss from jay.

omfg. his hand is always on your thigh when you guys sit next to one another. it just rests there all the time, occasionally rubbing it from time to time, sometimes drumming a little beat with his fingers. he also rests his hand on your thigh worried when he notices that you're nervous and your leg is bouncing uncontrollably. it does calm you down, but on the other hand, it can also make you flustered.

he always wants you to be comfortable & is actually happy to get rid of the knots in your back, shoulders, etc.. after a stressful day, he pulls you in by the wrist and brings you to sit in front of him so he can start messaging you. even though you should be the one relaxing, he ends up relaxing even more, feeling his hands all over you and your skin (🤭). he definitely watches youtube tutorials on how to give better massages just for you.

hanging his arm around you at all times

whether you guys are sitting together or standing together, jake's arm is always around you. it's almost like you were made right to fit into the space between his side and his outstretched arm. he either hangs his arm around your shoulder or hooks it on your waist. his hand rubs on you whom he's holding; this shared warmth gives him comfort, and he loves having you right by his side.

biting you (lovingly)

like that one ending fairy where he acts like a dog, he follows through and tends to bite you at random times during the day. you guys are resting on the couch? he bites your shoulder. you're trying to feed him a cookie? he bites the cookie and also bites your finger. does he growl when he does it? sometimes. it's just cuteness aggression, according to him.

tracing shapes on your skin

he loves tracing shapes all over you, like your hands, the bottom of your wrists, your back.. it gives him something to do with his hands instead of just sitting there awkwardly staring into space. he'll write messages like "ily", hearts, smiley faces.. OR he'll draw little sad faces on purpose just so you ask him "what's wrong :(" and he can tell u everything all pouty.

drying your hair for you

after you shower, sometimes you lack the energy to fully dry your hair, and instead you just go to sleep. sunghoon always points out that you can catch a cold; when you shrug in response, he rolls his eyes, brings out a towel and a hairdryer, and motions for you to sit in front of him. he makes sure the hot air isn't burning you, his hands aren't pulling on your hair and hurting you, and makes sure you're comfortable.

squeezing your hand

he squeezes your hand as a reminder that he is still there, which he is literally always holding every second of the day. when in stressful situations, he squeezes your hand either to comfort you or gain comfort himself. he learns a teeny bit of morse code: two short squeezes followed by one short, one long, and two short, which is then followed by one long, one short, and two long. "ily."

playfully hitting you, leaning into you whenever he laughs

he's always right next to you, especially in a group setting. you better be prepared for a night full of playful arm slapping, head leaning- all the physical touch coming. sunoo is always laughing, and whenever he laughs, he does something with his hands, whether this is pointing at whoever made a joke, slapping the person next to him, or completely falling onto someone. when you guys are together, his hands always land on you. you don't mind at all: watching his eyes sparkle as he leans into when he laughs- heaven.

intertwining pinkies

rather than just holding hands, you two opt for a different type of constant contact: interlocking pinkies. it's just a cute way for you guys to always be connected, like a forever pinky promise that you guys will always be together. he loves swinging your arm around as well while walking when you guys are together.

he always leans on your shoulder on the couch, in long (or even short) car rides, on a park bench... basically every chance he gets. sometimes he falls asleep, and other times, he just enjoys the contact and your presence. he gets extra happy when you lean on him back.

even in moments of silence, he always wants to be connected with you. when you guys are on your phones handling your separate business, one of his hands will always be playing with something of yours. when you guys are walking, you'll feel a little rustle on your arm: it's him playing with your sleeve. he messes with the ends of your shirt, like making little folds in it over and over, twisting it into little flower-shaped twists. if you wear jewelry he's definitely running his hands over the chains and twirling them constantly.

wiping your tears

like that clip of him wiping away sunoo's tears, he wipes your tears away whenever you cry. he hates seeing you sad, and his way of making your tears go away is literally making your tears go away. his thumb comes and swipes all of your tears away, or sometimes he will kiss them off your face like a cutie. he succeeds though- it does make you feel better.

wiping crumbs off your lips, taking off a stray eyelash, etc

it never fails to give you butterflies. the close proximity of his face, his focused expression, his fingers on your cheek: he probably doesn't know the effect he has on you, because in his eyes he's just doing something nice for you, taking care of you by removing something on your face.

tangling limbs with you

oh man. you and him become one. one body. you guys share limbs atp. i've talked about this before but he sleeps with his leges and arms wrapped around you. his weight is always on yours, even if you complain about it: it's your personal weighted blanket. when you guys are sitting next to each other, he LINKS LEGS. LMFAO. he even intertwines fingers and makes you use your free hand to get things for the both of you.

the tightest hugs ever

he gives the kind of hugs that feel like he's trying to suffocate you. you always tell him that you aren't going anywhere, but he'll spin you around and toss you from side to side during every hug. he always laughs as you complain that you're getting dizzy, and he'll pretend to let go and move on before quickly sucking you back up in his arms.

playing footsies

he will make an effort to create a foot war the second he realizes your foot is in front of his. he kicks your foot and gets all giggly when you kick his back. it doesn't even have to be under the table; even when you guys are sitting next to each other with your feet outstretched, he will suddenly attack your toes. he also unties your shoelaces all the time. odd? but cute.

synopsis ; you're definitely sunoo's number one photographer, said so even by himself. usually you're the first to be pointed out by him, but today he doesn't even spare you a glance before walking in his concert venue.

Hurriedly fishing your digital camera out of its pouch, you alight the bus and rush towards where hundreds, nearly thousands of people are congregating. There's a good mix of male and female fans, but they all have one thing in common - they're here to see your boyfriend perform.

Two teenage girls whisper behind hands to each other, barely concealing their excitement. You can feel their gazes burning your back alive as they try to subtly point at you, but it's no use for them. Before they can scurry off, you turn and wave at them.

As much as you would like to have your own meet and greet with Sunoo's fans, you slip past the blinding camera flashes, huge tripod set-ups and the bustling groups of fans to reach the front of the crowd. Hoping to catch a glimpse of your boyfriend before he makes it into the venue.

After apologising to several mildly annoyed fans, you finally stumble out of the crowd. And there, a little ways away, Sunoo turns to face you. Everyone around you starts to scream, when the artist begins to tug his guitar case from the back of the van.

While everyone marvels at the sight of Kim Sunoo right before their eyes, all you are looking at is the sticker you pasted on the back of his case. The signature he asked you to put, hidden next to the zipper. You wonder if everybody else sees it, too, or if it's a secret for you to keep.

Girlfriend privileges, you joke to yourself.

When Sunoo successfully heaves the case over his shoulder, a surprisingly loose grip on the sling, he turns back around to greet his fans.

Usually, his gaze scans the crowd to search for you. His eyes will visibly sparkle with an eagerness that can't be explained when they land on you. He'll grin to himself, do a tiny little wave of glee and continue walking to his destination.

However, this time, he seems either oddly sure that you're not around, or is plain ignoring your presence. Dramatically, like a scene in a movie or tv show, time seems to slow. Sunoo's eyes skip past you, moving with the crowd. And as the crowd moves with Sunoo and his bodyguards, the only barrier a few mere cones, you stand still.

You're fortunate that the strap connected to your camera is looped around your wrist when you drop the whole thing abruptly.

No. This can't be. You're not only Sunoo's girlfriend. You're his tip-top personal photographer. The highest HD qualities of him come from your digital Canon camera, and your camera only. You're not going to go home with an empty camera roll.

Relying on the hope that the security guards recognise you, you enter the area marked by the cones and dart after Sunoo.

"Yah!" You yell out, to nobody in particular as you enter the restricted zone in the stadium. It's a huge recreational area, off boundaries just for today's concert. Breaking through the crowd for the second time definitely stalled you for too long, because Sunoo is nowhere to be found in the empty room.

Across the dark, foot-ball field sized room, there's a staircase, leading to the backstage. You assume that's where Sunoo is, since he needs to rehearse with the two others in the band in about... you check your watch. About ten minutes.

You can hear Jungwon's voice trailing from the floor above, and that's what helps you make the decision to take the stairs up.

Why you decided to run, slip and fall at the first three steps of the staircase, however, you're not very sure. An agonising pain shoots up your ankle while your camera skids across the ground.

Letting out a hiss, you bring your hands to grab the base of your leg, willing the sharp pain away. Your head's a little dazed, but you can recognise Riki as he rushes down the stairs upon hearing the loud crash.

"Y/n!" He exclaims, doing a 360 to see if Sunoo's nearby. "What did you do? Are you okay?"

"No, not really," you wince a little sarcastically, trying not to break face in front of Sunoo's bandmate, who has assigned you as his punching bag of teasing remarks. Riki rolls his eyes and straightens up to call your boyfriend over.

"Sunoo! Your girlfriend's injured!"

Your eyes squeezed shut to block out the pain, you don't notice when Sunoo flies down the stairs and materialises right next to you after a few minutes pass.

"Hey, y/n, what did you do to yourself?" He presses an ice pack against your right ankle in lieu of your hands gripping it desperately.

"It's okay, I think it's just sprained," Riki sighs and continues unhelpfully, "you're such a bad boyfriend. I was the first one down here."

"Yah!" Sunoo glares his way. "You took one look at her and didn't know what to do and called me!"

"I'm joking, hyung," Riki raises his hands in a surrendering motion, the laid-back grin on his face never dissipating. With that, he spins on his heel and walks back up the stairs, leaving you and Sunoo in silence.

When you can't take the chilling quietness anymore, you blurt, "what did I do?"

"What did you do?" Sunoo echoes in confusion, tilting his head and adjusting the ice pack on your ankle. "What do you mean?"

"Did you not see me earlier?" you hiccup, and it hasn't even occurred to you that you're crying. The ice is doing little to numb the pain, and with Sunoo acting so off, you're not sure how to feel okay. "You didn't greet me, didn't wave. You just walked away."

"Y/n," Sunoo laughs, "I really, truly, didn't know you were there." He whips his phone out of his pocket and opens your chat, continuing to chuckle quietly to himself. "I'm so sorry I didn't see your texts. I had already reached the venue and had no idea you were there too. I assumed you were going to be late."

Your voice cracks embarrassingly when you say, "you could have at least tried," before shoving his shoulder gently.

"I'm sorry, baby," he murmurs, half-amused. He does not sound sorry at all. But then he leans back, pouts, and then kisses the top of your head. "I'll let you get even better resolution pictures, okay?"

Although Sunoo's interpretation of what an apology is... may be a little warped, he's still your boyfriend, and the show must go on. As promised, when you take your front row seats next to both Jungwon's and Riki's respective plus ones, you take the best, most satisfactory pictures you've ever taken.

✧ heeseung has never told you this, but he'd actually tried sixteen times to muster up the courage to ask for your number and a date. it had taken him an entire year, sixteen tries, and five meltdowns to finally approach you and not instantly turn back around in a moment of weakness. he would never tell you that, however, because he thinks that you believe him to be a suave man. what you don't have the heart to tell heeseung is that jay had snitched on him and his various failures. you think it's adorable, so when you first teased him with this information, he'd gone pink as the cotton candies in your hands.

✧ jungwon was popular all throughout his childhood and teen years with many admirers, boys and girls alike. he was, however, thought to be uninterested in any romance, because he would instantly reject anyone that approached him. the small detail that no one knows about is how he'd walk the same route home a few times a day in hopes of one day catching your eyes from behind window as he'd pass by. no matter which clothes he wore or how he'd styled his hair, his subtle attempts would never work. months of hard work and the only thing that had worked was just going up to the counter with a box of juice and a small paper with a series of digits written on it.
