Would the Narnia characters be on tumblr?
Peter
No. Peter Pevensie has never and will never know of tumblr because he is a magnificently well-adjusted human being. The only social media he is aware of is Facebook and Instagram.
Susan
She used to be on tumblr, specifically on the aesthetic-and-sad-prose side of tumblr. Susan was your og tumblr hipster. Definitely has a drawn-moustache-on-index-finger selfie buried deep down somewhere. She made a galaxy diy shoes once.
(She also used to have a keep calm and carry on banner in her bedroom but she will deny it until the day she dies.)
Susan has long since left tumblr and she is barely active on social media these days, only occasionally posting a picture on Instagram or getting roped into a TikTok trend by Corin. She still rocks a fishtail braid from time to time though.
Edmund
He wasn't, but he is now. He used to make fun of Lucy for being on the fandom side of tumblr, but the quarantine and the tumblr memes he found on Instagram explore persuaded him to make one in secret. He is now addicted. Unknowingly, Lucy is one of his mutuals and they ship the same unhinged crack pairing.
Lucy
Yes. Totally. 100%.
Lucy is your tumblr elder, she's been here since the start of tumblr civilization, she was here during tumblr Renaissance Era of SuperWhoLock domination, and she will be here when tumblr reaches its end. If tumblr had a million users, Lucy is one of them. If it only had one user, then Lucy is the only one there. If it had zero user, then it means Lucy Pevensie is dead, buried, and there is no internet access in the afterlife.
Lucy still religiously uses Supernatural gifs as reaction because Lucy Pevensie never forgets her roots (and because Supernatural has reaction gifs for everything).
Lucy is also active on fandom twitter.
Caspian
He made a tumblr account once because he wanted to look at ship (actual ship, not fandom ship) arts and he must have an account to explore more. Caspian has long since forgotten of its existence.
Eustace
No. Eustace is anti social media. He doesn't want the government to spy on him. He only has LinkedIn for 'professional purposes'.
(and also a secret twitter account he uses to have anonymous internet fights.)
Jill
Yes. But she only uses it a normal amount, which is only barely, two times a week at most. She is a twitter girly who migrated because of you-know-who.
Corin
No. He is a devout Gen Z TikTok user.
Cor/Shasta
No. Social media confuses him and he is barely able to manage his own Instagram account. Every time he hears about a new social media he dies a little more inside. (Just how many more of these things do you need?! -Cor, inwardly).
Aravis
Yes. She is a new user though. Lucy helped her to get one and they both follow each other. Aravis' tumblr is full of movie scenes and Kate Sharma edits.
Trumpkin
No. He thinks social media is ridiculous.
Trufflehunter
No, unfortunately. But Trufflehunter is a very famous baking influencer on every other platform.
Mr. Tumnus
Yes. He is your favourite tumblr professional writer.
Jadis
She used to have one until she got banned. You guess why.

"THE WOMAN IN WHITE" (1997) Review
I have very little familiarity with Victorian novelist, Wilkie Collins and his work. One, I have never read any of his novels. And two, I had only become aware of his works and adaptations of his work some two to three years ago. One of those adaptations happened to be the 1997 television movie, "THE WOMAN IN WHITE".
Although a longtime viewer of PBS's "MASTERPIECE THEATER", I had never seen this version of Collins' 1859-60 novel when it first aired on U.S. television, years ago. It took streaming television for me to finally stumble across this movie. Recalling how much I had enjoyed it, I did a recent re-watch. Had my feelings for this production changed? Good question.
"THE WOMAN IN WHITE" was a BBC-TV adaptation of what is regarded as an early example of a mystery novel. Half-sisters Marian and Laura Fairlie live with their hypochondriac uncle, Mr. Fairlie, at his estate called Limmeridge. He hires a young artist named Walter Hartright to serve as their art tutor. Upon his arrival in the neighborhood, Walter unexpectedly meets a young woman dressed in white, who acquires about his plans to stay at Limmeridge. When he finally meets the Fairlie sisters, Walter realizes that Laura bears a strong resemblance to the woman he had earlier encountered. Laura and Walter develop an attraction between them, but Marian nips the potential romance in the bud when she reveals Laura's engagement to a family acquaintance, a landowner named Sir Percy Glyde. When Marian receives a warning about Sir Percy, she and Walter deduces it came from the woman the latter had encountered on his first night - a local named Anne Catherick. While heading into the woods to meet with Walter and track down Anne, Marian spots a servant woman running out of the woods, with Walter close behind. She accuses him of attempted rape. Walter is dismissed by Mr. Fairlie and Laura proceeds with her marriage to Sir Percival.
I have always regarded Collins' 1859-60 novel as a personal favorite. If I must be blunt, I have always preferred it over his other famous novel, "The Moonstone". This adaptation of "The Woman in White" is the shortest I have seen, with a running time of 125 minutes. I thought Davie Pirie of adapting the novel for a television movie. He had more or less retained the main narrative of Collins' novel. Although Marian and Laura remained half-sisters, the two characters shared the same parents, instead of the same mother. And I believe he made one improvement by allowing Marian to have a bigger role in the story's third act, which featured the mystery's resolution and the villain's downfall. More importantly, the shorter running time spared me of the final aspects of Count Fosco's arc, which I believe had unnecessarily dragged Collins' novel.
However, I do have a few complaints about Pirie's changes. I thought he had unnecessarily magnified Sir Percy Glyde's villainy by making him a rapist. He had raped Anne Catherick, when she was a girl. Although I have no problems with Pirie expanding Marian's role in defeating Sir Percy in the third act, I had a big issue with making her defeat her brother-in-law by locking him in a burning church. Pirie had transformed Marian into a murderer. And this was not my idea of expanding her role into Sir Percy's defeat. And unless I had missed that moment, I do not recall the movie revealing Count Fosco's reason for helping Sir Percy achieve his goal. Worse, the movie failed to reveal his fate before the movie's last scene.
Although published between 1859 and 1860, Collins' novel was set a decade earlier, between 1849 and 1850. Yet, "THE WOMAN IN WHITE" - at least this version - seemed to be set during the early or mid 1870s. I have no problem with this. This new setting still adhered to theme of a woman's property and marriage, considering it was set before the Married Women's Property Act 1882. Odile Dicks-Mireaux's costumes had received a BAFTA (British Academy Television) Award nomination and did an excellent job in reflecting not only this period setting, but also the characters' social standing:

I do not have any issues with the performances featured in "THE WOMAN IN WHITE". The television movie featured more than competent supporting performances from the likes of Susan Vidler, John Standing, Adie Allen, Kika Markham, Ann Bell and especially Corin Redgrave and Nicholas Woodeson. This adaptation of Collins' novel featured the second time Ian Richardson portrayed the hypocondriac Mr. Fairlie. He had portrayed the same character in the 1982 miniseries. Which performance did I regard superior? I cannot answer that. I would have to watch the older version. But I cannot deny that Richardson gave a very entertaining and fascinating performance as the unreliable Mr. Fairlie. I found Simon Callow equally fascinating as Sir Percival's mysterious companion, Count Fasco. I also have to give credit to the actor for portraying a non-English character without resorting to exaggerated gestures and an accent.
Andrew Lincoln gave an excellent performance as the emotional artist Walter Hartright. It only seemed a pity that his screen appearance and later, his role, had been limited. If I had my choice for the best on-screen Sir Percival Glyde I have seen, I would choose James Wilby's interpretation. His portrayal of the story's main villain struck me as very skillful and surprisingly subtle. I say surprisingly, considering that his Glyde's villainy had been magnified in compared to the literary and other on-screen versions. Justine Waddell gave a quiet, yet competent performance as Laura Fairlie, the catalyst and target in this mystery. Ironically, the heart and soul of Collins' story was Marian Fairlie (Halcombe in the other versions). The showrunners selected the right woman for the job, namely Tara Fitzgerald. She was superb as the forthright and emotional Marian, whose determination to protect her younger sister, led her into situations she never thought she would find herself in. Fitzgerald not only did an excellent job of portraying Marian's emotional connection to her sister, but also her ruthless determination to save the latter.
Overall, "THE WOMAN IN WHITE" proved to be an excellent adaptation of Wilkie Collins' 1859-60 novel. Due to its running time suited for a movie, screenwriter Davie Pirie made changes that either had no damaging impact and improved Collins' story. But a few of the screenwriter's changes did not serve the narrative, as well. However, one of the BAFTA TV Awards nominations for "THE WOMAN IN WHITE" proved to be Best Drama Serial. Thanks to Pirie's transcript, Tim Fywell's excellent direction and a first-rate cast led by Tara Fitzgerald and Justine Waddell, I believe the miniseries deserved that nomination.

I just finished The Horse and his Boy, and I have to say that the thing that bothered me most was the fact that when Aslan went:  
 "Have a care, Rabadash," said Aslan quietly. "The doom is nearer now: it is at the door: it has lifted the latch." 
Susan didn’t burst trough the door to smack this man in the face.

Do you ever think about the contrast in King Lune's parenting and the Tisroc's parenting and go a little insane? Cause here's the thing, Rabbadash and Corin are actually quite similar in some ways (eagerness to fight, quick tempers, and both crown princes, to name a few) but they are so different because they were raised by very different men. The Tisroc tells Rabbadash not to go to war unless there is a certainty of winning. King Lune tells Corin not to pick fights with anyone weaker. The Tisroc is aware he may be sending his son to die in war, and does not care. King Lune sees his son was in the battle and scolds him for it because he could have been hurt, but is also proud of his courage in defending his home. Like just the way you can see the differences in these two rulers and in the family is so artful to me. You can see a similar comparison with Aravis and Susan in Aravis' father vs Edmund. We see Edmund say that if Rabbadash wants Susan against her will it will be over his dead body, but no amount of pleading can pursuade Aravis' father not to marry her off, so she is forced to escape alone in her brother’s armor. A brother who went away to war, like Peter. And while Peter is alive and Aravis' brother is dead, neither of them come into the story except by mention. There are so many little foils and parallels throughout the book (especially with the general theme of twins) and it makes my little writer's heart so happy. I swear I could write a full essay on each one.

this is re: a super old post lol but when does harry potter make mischief just for the heck of it? yes he breaks rules but it’s always for a decent reason as far as i can remember, not just for kicks and giggles (tbf i haven’t reread in quite a while)

I don't think I was saying that Harry Potter makes mischief just for the heck of it so much as that he has a very ends-justify-the-means mentality when it comes to mischief making. He's perfectly content to lie to authority figures, even those we know to be Good, because he is fundamentally mistrustful of authority. He breaks the rules all the time because he doesn't believe that the rules are there for a good reason. (And, to his credit, he is often right about these things.)
Fred and George are a good example of the "agents of chaos" mischief makers I mentioned later on in those tags, as are Harry's dad and co. The code phrases for the magical map they all use are literally "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" and "mischief managed." The series as a whole had a very pro-rule breaking bent to it that doesn't really come up against many ethical lines. Lying to authority figures is fine because authority is Bad. Pranks are to be celebrated, even if not everyone enjoys them. Why not cut class with candies that make you sick? It's all in good fun.
The point I was trying to make in the original post is that Corin in HHB is a really good counter-example to this attitude around mischief making: both Harry's attitude and that of the series as a whole. Corin is a character who enjoys breaking rules, causing a bit of chaos, and getting into fights for fun, but he's very ethical about it. He's fundamentally unwilling to lie about said mischief, even if he could totally get away with it. He threatens to knock people down all the time, but he only really does it when people disrespect Queen Susan. Even the city guards who try to lock him up during his day of escapades get tricked into drinking wine and falling asleep, not beat up. Shasta even comments that Corin looks abashed when he gets in trouble with his dad. He's respectful of the authority figures in his life.
I don't know, I just think that the two series have very different attitudes around mischief and trouble-making. I don't think Harry Potter's attitude is bad, per se - and it's certainly not unique among children's books, many of which have a real lack of trustworthy adults - but I find HHB's attitude really wholesome. I genuinely love that Corin, the most mischievous character in the series, genuinely cannot fathom lying to Edmund.

“Never in all my days did I imagine this would come to pass!” My father clapped his hands together, the sound an unnaturally sharp contrast to the excitement of his words.
I tried to match his radiant smile, but failed before I even started. 
It was less than ten minutes after Edmund went to go find my father when I was summoned to the king’s study. Cor sat properly on the sofa facing the fire while Corin slouched beside him. Edmund stood by the right corner of the mantelpiece, his back to the fire and his gaze trained on the rich wooden floor. Not knowing where to stand, I stood by the left corner. 
My father flitted between his desk in the corner and Edmund, seemingly unable to keep still. “My daughter and King Edmund?” he said with comical disbelief. “How wonderful it is!”
Corin shook his head, looking a bit dazed. “My sister, a queen.”
“Of Narnia,” Cor added, giving his twin a significant look. Not the fourth wife of a prince in Tashbaan, his expression said, likely familiar with the consequences of those words ever leaving his mouth. Most everyone in the room believed I still had no idea how close I’d come to being a princess of Tashbaan and not a queen of Narnia. 
Edmund’s gaze didn’t shift from the floor. 
To anyone else, his face would speak of deference and humility, but I knew him, like I knew the scratches on my chessboard too well to mistake it for another or the paths of the garden too well to get lost. His expression was one of discomfort. And how could he not be uncomfortable when he was stuck in a room with my father and brothers, discussing the topic of marriage?
He’d seemed so surprised when I brought up how much he loathed marriage, as if it wasn’t plain and simple to see. Whenever Queen Susan or Queen Lucy talked of weddings and betrothals, he looked as if he’d smelt something rancid. What kind of friend would I be if I hadn’t noticed?
Hopefully, we had a few months before we married, to give us time to figure out how this arrangement was going to work. 
“I am overjoyed!” my father announced, needlessly. We could all see it on his face. “And your mother would be so happy.”
I pursed my lips. Would this make my mother happy? Would the proposal from Rabadash have worried her? Would she have been relieved? Or, perhaps, like me, would she have been left in the dark, blindly following my father’s choices?
“Father, perhaps–” Cor’s comment was interrupted as the door flew open to reveal Edmund’s older sister. 
“Queen Susan!” my father boomed, spreading his hands like he was welcoming an angel.
“I came as quickly as I could.” She glanced around the room as she closed the door behind her. “What’s happened?”
“Your brother’s marrying my sister,” Corin grumbled, and Cor nudged him.
Queen Susan’s eyes went wide as they found her brother. “You…” She glanced at me. “And…?”
“Me,” I finished awkwardly.
To her credit, Queen Susan only blinked once before taking the news in stride. “Well then,” she folded her hands together, “I suppose we’re preparing a wedding.”
My father nodded. “Ab-so-lute-ly. Why, there isn’t a moment to lose!”
“Sorry,” I cut in, “but why do we have no moments for, uh, losing?”
“The sooner we get married, the better,” Edmund said calmly from his spot on the other side of the room. Everyone looked at him, a common occurrence whenever the Just King opened his mouth. But unlike normal when Edmund would hardly acknowledge the attention, he glanced uncomfortably at everyone before meeting my eyes. “It won’t do to wait, not with Rabadash’s presence here.” He started to push his hands into his pockets, and, at the last minute, he clasped them behind his back instead. 
“Oh,” was all I said.
“And why would we wait?” My father seized one of my hands, dragging me closer to Edmund with such zeal, I nearly tripped, and would have, if Edmund’s hands hadn’t found my waist to steady me. “This is a fated union!” my father boomed in Queen Susan’s direction as Edmund’s hands flew away from my waist and his feet shifted to create space between us. 
I was so distracted by Edmund, it took me a moment to understand what my father had said.
Fated union? Hadn’t he just said moments ago that he never imagined this happening? 
“If we work quickly,” my father walked towards the queen, “why, we could have them married by the end of the week!”
Queen Susan jerked out of some pensive musing. “Yes! Yes, I don’t see why not.”
“We’ll get started immediately.” My father offered his hand to the queen, which was quickly accepted. “Now, my lady, we must start with the guest list. Of course, the Archenland nobility will all be invited to this most auspicious event, but we must see about inviting High King Peter and Queen Lucy.” Still talking, he led her out of the room, leaving me and my brothers with Edmund. 
Silence fell. 
As the fire behind me let out a great pop, I peeked at Edmund, who was already looking at me. The moment our eyes met, we looked away. 
Cor caught my eyes, quirking an eyebrow, but Corin was staring at Edmund with the defiant expression he wore whenever someone dared him to do something foolish. 
“So why do you want to marry Y/N?” Corin asked.
“Corin!” Cor hissed.
“It’s a valid question!” Corin folded his arms. “You’re wondering it too!”
I looked at Edmund and knew we were silently asking ourselves the same question: did we reveal to them the true motivation behind why Edmund suddenly wanted to marry me? Edmund raised his eyebrows, clearly placing the decision in my hands.
If they knew, they would see how wonderful Edmund was…but they would also see how pathetic their sister’s position was, that I’d found out I was being married off and had to rely on a friend to rescue me because I couldn’t rescue myself. I didn’t want them to be party to my embarrassment. “It’s none of his business,” I said to Edmund, and I knew he understood my hidden meaning. “You don’t have to say anything.”
“It is too my business,” Corin argued, getting to his feet. Cor got to his feet also, putting a hand on his twin’s shoulder, which Corin quickly shook off. “If he’s going to be my new brother-in-law, I want to know.”
Brother-in-law.
The title made me feel suddenly queasy. If it made me feel queasy, it certainly made Edmund—the man who never wanted to marry—uncomfortable as well. 
“Corin–” I started, ready to send him off the trail.
“Your sister,” Edmund cut in, drawing all eyes, “is special.”
Special.
That was like calling something interesting—it sounded like you were saying something, but you really said nothing at all. 
“Really, Edmund, you don’t have to–”
“Shhhh!” Corin shushed me. Both my brothers faced Edmund, looking expectant. Outnumbered and helpless, I dropped into an armchair, watching Edmund try and stitch his words together.
“It’s not hard to find a beautiful woman,” Edmund said finally. “Nor is it rare to find a well-mannered woman of grace and poise. I’ve met many women of great intelligence or enthusiastic patience or tremendous humanity.”
I looked down at my shoes, my eyes watering from the smoke of my hopes burning. 
“But your sister, somehow…is all of those things.”
I glanced up to see Edmund looking over at me. He wasn’t smiling, but there was a soft and undeniable fondness in his eyes. “Any man would be lucky to have her, but none could deserve her.” He shook his head. “Not even me.”
My heart overflowed, brought to the brink of pain with the amount of affection in it.
 “I’m quite convinced that if she wanted to,” Edmund tilted his head, “she could outshine the sun.”
His words stole my breath. I fought to regain it, to be as unruffled and mighty as his words made me seem, but air seemed beyond my reach. He didn’t have to say all that, I’d given him permission to ignore my brothers, and yet he’d said it anyway. Did he really mean it? Or was he pandering to my brothers to convince them?
Even as I pondered the question, I could tell by his face that his words were in earnest, and it made me wonder. As underhanded as Rabadash proved himself to be…was he right? Did Edmund truly love me?
Corin pretended to gag. “Gross.”
“Corin!” I exclaimed, feeling my cheeks heat up.
“I didn’t ask for poetry!”
Cor shoved Corin. “Shut up!” Cor stepped forward to clap Edmund on the shoulder. “It will be an honor to have you as our new brother, King Edmund.”
Edmund politely inclined his head. “Likewise.”
“You picked a good one,” Corin told me, begrudgingly. With that, the twins left the room, arguing about Corin’s manners as they went.
And then, Edmund and I were alone.
All our familiarity melted away like snow in the spring. We didn’t touch each other, we didn’t look at each other, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if Edmund was trying to ignore the sound of my breathing the way I was trying to ignore his.
My current position far exceeded my position a few hours ago. Marrying Edmund was a vast improvement over marrying Rabadash.
But…with Rabadash, there was no obligation to pretend it was anything more than an arrangement. I could’ve spent my whole marriage loathing him, and it changed nothing. But with Edmund? I didn’t have the ease of hatred nor the certainty of love. It was still an arrangement, but an arrangement that left me unsure of where I stood. 
“Will you stand up for me?”
I blinked, suddenly noticing that Edmund stood in front of my chair now, his hand outstretched. “What?”
“Stand up.”
I did, tentatively placing my hand in his. Edmund was standing so close, I had to tilt my head back to look in his face. This is how we stood in the drawing room, when Edmund looked down at me with an expression I’d never before seen.
He was wearing the expression again now.
Then, ever so slowly, he dropped down to one knee, and a sudden burst of alarm shot through me. “What are you doing?” I cried before clapping a hand over my mouth at the sheer volume of my shrill voice.
Edmund reached out for my other hand. “I’m doing this right.”
I curled both hands into my chest. “You don’t have to–”
“I do,” Edmund said grimly, looking up at me. “In fact, I should’ve done it in the drawing room the moment I thought of this whole plan. You deserve to have this done right.”
“But this makes it–” I’d been about to say ‘real’, but nothing about this was real. If it were real, Edmund would propose because he didn’t want to live life without me. Because he loved me, not because he was trying to save me from an impossible situation. 
And yet, it was real. This was happening.
“Will you please let me do this?” Edmund asked.
“But I’ve already said yes!” I said shrilly. “We’re already getting–”
Married.
A measly little word, and yet I couldn’t make myself say it, too aware of its weight. 
“You said yes to the plan.” Edmund got to his feet again, something raw in his eyes. “You didn’t say yes to me.”
“I’m pretty sure it’s implied!”
Edmund bent a little so that our faces were on the same level as he looked directly into my eyes. “I don’t want a marriage based on an implication.”
My knees shook a little, weakened by the intensity of his tone. There should’ve been no surprise about this. I knew what kind of a man Edmund was. Of course it would translate into the kind of husband he wanted to be. 
“Y/N, please,” Edmund begged. “I-I need to feel like I’m doing this right.”
“You’re…” I trailed off. “You’re already doing too much for me.”
“Then do this for me.”
Why? my head screamed. I knew what Rabadash’s answer to that question would be, and it scared me. But as Edmund looked at me with his wheedling face, I knew there wasn’t much I could ever deny him. I squeezed my eyes shut and nodded, not trusting my voice. For Edmund. I could let him do this.
“Alright then.” Edmund clumsily and awkwardly took my hands, and I wasn’t sure if his hands were sweating or if mine were as he lowered himself onto his knee again. “Y/N, will you marry me?”
For a scary moment, I couldn’t form any words, couldn’t do anything except stare at him. Edmund was gaining new titles with this.
Son-in-law. Brother-in-law. Husband.
And so was I, I realized.
Queen. Sister-in-law. Wife.
I stared down at Edmund, cursing his persistent need to do things ‘the proper way’.
“Please say yes,” Edmund pleaded, his eyes imploring for the word.
Why did he seem so desperate? We were already getting married. The deal was already made. The wedding was being planned. Why did my ‘yes’ matter so much?
It didn’t matter that much to anyone else.
I swallowed hard. “Yes.” The word was strained and indecipherable, so I cleared my throat. “Yes, Edmund, I’ll marry you.”
Edmund didn’t smile. Instead, he released my right hand, shoving his own into his pocket.
“What are you–” My words died as my eyes caught the flash of silver. I gaped down at Edmund. “You got me a ring?”
Edmund laughed nervously, looking down at the band in his hand. “Not exactly. It’s actually my signet ring from when I was younger. I, uh, I outgrew it, and they had to craft another one.” He lifted his right hand to show off the ring on his pointer finger. “I-I just thought, um, that it could work until we could have another one made for you.” His rushed and uncertain words floored me. He scratched his neck. “It’s small, I know, and it’s very simple, but I just, I mean, I thought perhaps, in a way, it’s right–”
“It’s perfect.”
Edmund looked up at me. “Really?” I nodded, wordlessly holding out my hand. Edmund, staying in his position on the ground, gently slid the ring onto my ring finger. It nearly slipped back past my knuckle. “Um…I guess it’s too big.” He started to pull it off.
“Wait!” I quickly slid it onto my middle finger. Still too big.
Edmund rose to his feet. “Really, if it doesn’t fit, you don’t have to–”
I slid it onto my pointer finger, and it stayed right where it was. “It fits,” I said, showing it to him.
“It’s not on your ring finger though,” Edmund said, frowning.
“No, it’s okay. I like it on this finger.” I held it up to the light, admiring the birch leaves right in the center. “And anyways, we match.“ Taking his hand in mine, I spread his fingers until our palms met, the rings matching up with our pointer fingers. “See?” I said softly.
Edmund didn’t reply at first. Then, his eyes met mine. “I guess we do.” He let his fingers slip, intertwining with mine. I held my breath, suddenly anxious as his thumb gently, soothingly rubbed mine. “Are you okay?” he asked.
I let out the breath, sinking into the comfort of my courteous and wonderful friend. “Yes. Are you?”
“Apparently,” his Adam’s apple rippled as he swallowed, “we’re going to be married by the end of the week.”
I knew it, I knew he didn’t want to be married. I loosened my grip on his hand. “You don’t have to do this–”
“Y/N,” he said softly, holding my hand tighter. “We’re not going to have this conversation over and over again.”
“I-I just, I can’t–”
“If the roles were reversed,” Edmund cut in, “would you do the same for me?”
“Of course I would,” I replied without a moment’s hesitation. “I’d do anything for you, because you’re my best friend.”
The corners of Edmund’s mouth turned ever so slightly upward. “And I for you, because you’re mine.” His expression turned a little devious. “Should I be offended that you keep trying to let me out of this?”
I chuckled a bit self-consciously. “It’s probably bad manners, isn’t it, to reject a gift like this?”
“It is,” Edmund said pleasantly. “But have no fear, I’ll still bring you gifts on your birthday every year.” 
I smiled. “Except you’ll only have to walk them down the hall instead of sending them across nations.” 
“I’ll save on so much postage,” Edmund murmured. I giggled lightly, and Edmund smiled fully. The tightness in my chest eased at the familiar sight. It was the type of smile that promised we were going to be okay. The awkwardness of our impending marriage couldn’t shake our friendship. 
The door opened, and we respectfully stepped away from each other.
“Y/N,” said Queen Susan’s melodious voice, causing me to look up. She pursed her lips, clearly trying to conceal a smile. “I want your opinion on flowers for the wedding.” Her eyes flicked towards her brother. “Edmund tells me you like flowers.”
I looked over at Edmund, and the pink dusting his cheeks made me smile. “Yes, I do,” I said lightly, walking over to Queen Susan. She turned to lead me down the hall, and I glanced over my shoulder at Edmund. 
He looked the very picture of regality. 
His hands were behind his back again as he stood at his full, kingly height. Even the smile on his face was lordly, yet spoke of such warmth, I wondered at his assertion that I could outshine the sun.
Didn’t Edmund know he already did?

really hope that in the new greta gerwig narnia series, they bring in prince corin. im reading the horse and his boy and dude is such a legend to me😂 he gives percy jackson vibes in the sense that he heard someone making rude jokes about susan and knocked him out… and his brother… and then fought the officers who tried to arrest him. and then he escaped jail.

Narnia Headcanons: Archenland
- Has three major cities (Anvard, Perth, and Ende) and then several smaller towns and villages.
- The people are generally hardy and have a reputation for being tough from living in the mountains.
- Archenlanders have an affinity for magic due to most of the human inhabitants having dryad ancestors.
- Good magic practitioners are called Cunning Men or Cunning Women.
- Archenland was hidden by Cunning people during the reign of the White Witch.
- Some of Archenland's humans had ancestors from Finland, Ireland, Scotland. Greece, and France. This is most obvious given their naming conventions.
- They speak a pidgin language called Narn, which mixes English and Old Narnian. Their own language is called Archen, which is a very weird mix of Irish and Old Narnian.
- They have accents that sound Scottish.
- Everyone knows how to use a weapon of some sort due to coming into constant conflict with the Calormen Empire.
- Everyone is also taught survival skills from a young age and children are expected to be self-sufficient, which is why Corin is the way he is.
- Edmund learns Archen so he can talk to his wife's great-grandparents, who never learned Narn due to the reign of the witch.
- Edmund scares some of his classmates later when he starts cursing at someone in Archen. His Irish classmates immediately adopt him, because he's speaking Irish. Very weird Irish but still Irish.
- Archenland's last King and Queen were King Eoin and Queen Ines. They were both murdered by Calormene assassin's and their young blind son Sol (15 during the events of the Last Battle) was placed on the throne as a puppet ruler. This was a mistake and Calormen was pushed out shortly before the last great battle.
- Archenland has creatures unique to them, specifically they have wolverines, moose, and other animals associated with colder places. Some are talking animals.
- Susan Does Not Like the fact many Wolverines can talk but Lucy is very fond of them and they adore her.
- Susan loves the snow bears (polar bears). They're very pleasant and civilized creatures that regularly murder giants.
- Peter likes the moose. They like him and one named Teo would let the High King ride him into battle on occasion.
- Edmund prefers the talking mink as they are clever, excellent spies, and foul mouthed.
- Ariane had a mink friend named Avi. He would ride around on her or Edmund's shoulders and pretend to be a dumb beast to get information or free food. Mr. Beaver thinks he's uncivilized and they bicker about it.
- Boxing is a popular sport, as is skiing.
- Archenland is well known for its poetry and music.
- The nobility favor practical clothes over grand ones. They do have royal clothing but these are brought out for special occasions.

I'm still physically wiped out and my head's too fuzzy to do 'real' writing/revisions on my story, but I'm just coherent enough that I want to chitter-chatter about my fic.
So in the course of working on Choices, one of the things I've spent an inordinate amount of time on is figuring out the 'cohorts' for the valleyfolk. What I mean by 'cohorts' are the groups of people who are in a similar age-range to one another and then further subdivided into 'natives' (aka 'people who grew up together in the valley') and 'transplants.' After all, one of the things I'm trying to accomplish is interweaving three large expansion mods with the base game and coming up with a cohesive whole, and that means knowing who from the various mods have known each other basically forever.
Under the cut, I break down who's in what cohort. I may or may not later flesh out my thinking about why I plopped certain people into certain groups, mostly because when I started to do so with this list, the post grew disgustingly (more) bloated. If I do, I'll probably do a separate post for each cohort. After all, this is the site for rambling about this sort of random stuff, right? 😅 (Edit: that's exactly how I spent my afternoon. If you squint just right, these could be considered spoilers for SVE/Ridgeside/East Scarp.
I divided the population of the valley into five different cohorts/generations. Ages are based on how old they are/would be during the course of Choices. They are also in order of eldest down to youngest. I have actual ages recorded for most of the characters, but it cluttered up this list waaay too much.

Thinking about how in all the books after LWW, they talk about 'the time when High King Peter rules with his siblings' or 'the age of Peter the High King' or if they're generous 'when the four siblings ruled Narnia under Peter' like. In the movies they're mostly shown as being equal, in PC Edmund is heavily involved in all of the planning and Lucy is trusted to find Aslan and Susan is leading a whole group of archers on her own, in VDT Edmund and Lucy are treated with the utmost respect and called 'High King and Queen' above Caspian, and the only mention of their older siblings is in the context of an old friend asking about their family
But in the books you can see that Peter has had so much more of an impact on Narnia, in HHB Susan and Edmund are in Calormene but they're treated like lowly ambassadors, Queen Susan treats Corin like her own son but King Lune seems to have more power than she, Edmund leads the charge against Rabadash only because Peter wasn't there and couldn't handle it, Lucy is hardly mentioned at all while there are constant references to Peter fighting a war in the north
In SC when Eustace and Jill are at Cair Paravel they tell the story of Cor and Aravis which happened 'in the golden Age when Peter was High King,' and there's no mention of the four royals again
In PC Doctor Cornelius places great emphasis on ruling like 'the High King Peter of old,' and when talking about the horn only Peter has the honorific of 'High' royalty, and when Trufflehunter tried to convince the dwarves that Caspian should rule he says 'wasn't the High King Peter a man?' with no mention of the others, and when Edmund is arguing with Peter Lucy tells him to do what he says because 'he is the High King, you know,' and every time the siblings fought the Trumpkin said he would go with the High King, and when he arrived at the How he only announced Peter and not Edmund, and when Aslan sent the Telmarines away he told them they were going to the world where 'the High King Peter belongs'
In LB Jill introduces Tirian to 'Peter, the High King over all Kings in Narnia,' and at the end of the world Peter was called to shut the door on Narnia (not Professor Kirke, who planted the Tree of Protection, or King Frank, the first King of Narnia, or even Aslan himself, who sung the world into existence)
Anyway I just think it's really interesting that LWW portrayed them mostly as equals, where Peter may have been knighted long before Edmund but the epilogue implies that they were a united front for all of their reign, but the rest of the books show that Narnia really was only right when a Son of Adam was King over all
