I appreciate Gooseworx’s commitment to death in her series, and I hope it continues. Far too many people’s shows and stories dance around or never have permanent consequences like dying.
Not all media needs their characters to die.
But it feels like such a cheap shot when a character ‘dies’ only to miraculously be brought back by some random force, they didn’t actually die, they faked it, they ran away, etc. to me it just removes any weight they tried to have when that character ‘died’
It strips a story of its natural consequences, leaving nothing to be truly feared because nothing permanent will ever happen anyway.
I see this in a lot of shows that are heavily influenced by their fan base and sort of morph into fanfic fodder to appease the fans, instead of having a deep or well written story.
It’s in my opinion sad to see, which is why I love that goose has already written everything. What’s written is written, what’s done is done, we are only left to watch what happens.
I have complete faith that she’s going to make something amazing.
She’s not going to hold back or shy away from the story she wants to tell, and I can’t wait.
If she fell down the trap of fan fodder then Jax would be this pure hearted tumblr sexy man who could do no wrong, gangle would be one dimensionally crying all the time, Pomni would be a fearful pushover that did nothing but panic, and on and on, it just wouldn’t be good, it wouldn’t be fulfilling.
There’s no substance left for the fans to make fanfiction if the entire show is nothing but that.
It’s really inspiring to see how good of a writer she is, all of her characters have depth, that depth just needs to be explored.
And those who die, will probably stay dead.

You know you've written a character well when you only show him for like 15 minutes and he still becomes a fan favourite.
