As Taehyun and his notorious gang – Hueningkai, Beomgyu, Soobin, and Yeonjun – strutted down the school halls, their presence commanded attention, drawing whispers and wary glances from their peers. They were the quintessence of high school rebels, seamlessly stirring up mischief wherever they roamed. Teachers watched with a mix of awe and frustration, well aware that the week would be filled with challenges due to these influential troublemakers.
"Look at them," muttered a nearby student, eyeing the group with a mix of fear and fascination. "They're like walking chaos."
Taehyun flashed a grin, seemingly fueled by the murmurs around him. "Let them talk," he said coolly to his gang. "They know we run this place."
Meanwhile, in a quieter corner of the school, Y/N was engrossed in arranging her books for the day, her bubbly energy reflected in her friend Jim-In's demeanor. The air was filled with excitement about the upcoming Valentine's Day, with Jim-In enthusiastically speculating about the surprises her boyfriend might have in store.
"Do you think he'll go all out with roses and chocolates?" Jim-In asked, eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Y/N shrugged, a soft smile playing on her lips. "Maybe. But you know me, I'm just here for the discounted candy the day after."
Her acceptance of spending another Valentine's Day solo, devoid of secret admirers or grand romantic gestures, was met with a comforting pat from Jim-In. "One day, Y/N, someone's going to sweep you off your feet. Just you wait."
As Y/N signaled to Jim-In that it was time to head to their next class, the focus shifted back to Taehyun and his friends. Their laughter echoed through the halls, their playful shoves showing their camaraderie, seemingly unaware of the annoyed glances they attracted from other students.
"Come on, you guys, we're going to be late again," Taehyun said, trying to herd his friends along.
Beomgyu, always the joker of the group, quipped a particularly bad joke, earning a mock groan from Taehyun. "Seriously, Beomgyu? That's the best you've got?"
In response, Beomgyu playfully shoved Taehyun, but the push was stronger than intended. Taehyun stumbled dramatically, crashing into someone walking by. The impact sent both of them tumbling to the ground, with Taehyun accidentally pinning the other person beneath him.
To his surprise and embarrassment, he found himself looking down into Y/N's startled eyes. Jim-In, along with a few other students, stopped in their tracks, mouths agape at the scene.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Jim-In exclaimed, rushing over to her friend's side.
The boys, initially struggling to hold back their laughter, quickly sobered up at the seriousness of the situation. Taehyun, meanwhile, was acutely aware of the person beneath him. Y/N, who had unknowingly been the object of his secret affection for years, lay there with a stunned expression. She represented everything he felt he wasn't – kind, bright, a beacon of positivity – while he played the part of the misunderstood rebel.
Their faces were just inches apart, creating an intense, unexpected moment that seemed to freeze time around them. The laughter from their peers was immediate, filling the air as Taehyun and Y/N lay in an unexpected heap on the floor.
"Is this a new way to meet girls, Taehyun?" Soobin joked, unable to suppress his amusement.
"Looks like Taehyun's finally found his match!" Hueningkai added.
Amidst the laughter, a teacher pushed through the crowd, his expression stern. "What's the meaning of this? This isn't a playground!" he scolded.
Yeonjun, still chuckling with the others, managed a half-hearted apology. "Sorry, sir, it was just an accident," he said, trying to look remorseful.
Taehyun, his cheeks reddened with embarrassment, offered his hand to Y/N. "I'm really sorry about that," he muttered, avoiding eye contact.
The teacher, clearly frustrated, rubbed his temples. "I expect better from you all. Be more careful in the future," he warned, though his words seemed to be ignored by the still laughing group.
As the crowd started to disperse, whispering excitedly about the incident, Jim-In joined Taehyun in helping Y/N to her feet.
"Are you okay, Y/N?" Jim-In asked, full of concern.
"Yeah, I think so," Y/N replied, dusting herself off.
Taehyun, about to speak, was abruptly pulled away by Yeonjun. "Come on, man, let's go," they said, still laughing.
As Taehyun's gaze lingered on Y/N's retreating figure, Beomgyu's laughter brought him back to reality. Slapping his back with a teasing grin, Beomgyu chuckled, "Hey, tough guy, snap out of it!"
Taehyun sighed, feeling his heart rate finally begin to slow. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered, trying to shake off the fluttering in his chest.
Yeonjun, ever the joker, nudged Taehyun playfully. "Man, you turned redder than a ripe tomato! What's the deal, Taehyun?" he teased, grinning widely.
Taehyun, struggling to maintain his cool demeanor, attempted to deflect. "What are you talking about? There's no deal," he said, feigning confusion.
Soobin, Beomgyu, and Hueningkai exchanged knowing glances.
"So, Taehyun, got a little crush, do we?" Soobin teased, pinching Taehyun's cheek lightly.
"Crushing? Since when?" Yeonjun joined in, his voice laced with mock surprise.
Taehyun rolled his eyes, swatting away Soobin and Yeonjun's hands. "Cut it out, you guys," he grumbled, but his protest only fueled their laughter.
With a shared look, the group decided to skip class, heading to their usual hangout in the field. The air was filled with their laughter and chatter as they playfully pushed each other around, momentarily leaving behind the constraints of the classroom.
Meanwhile, back at the school, Jim-In was buzzing with excitement over the earlier incident.
"Y/N, can you believe what just happened?" Jim-In exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement.
Y/N, still processing the unexpected encounter, smiled wryly. "Yeah, it was... something," she replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
"But Taehyun! Of all people!" Jim-In continued, her voice rising with each word. "He's like the school's mystery guy, and he just... fell on you!"
Y/N shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed. "It was just an accident, Jim-In. Don't make it into a big deal."
"But the way he looked at you!" Jim-In insisted, not ready to let it go. "Did you see his face? He was totally flustered!"
Y/N sighed, trying to divert the conversation. "Let's just focus on our next class, okay? Beomgyu pushed him so I don't think his fall was anything more than a clumsy moment."
Jim-In, however, was not convinced. "I don't know, Y/N. There's something there. I mean, Taehyun is always so composed, and then suddenly he's all red-faced and awkward around you? That's not just a coincidence."
Y/N pondered the possibility but quickly dismissed it. "Jim-In, it's Taehyun. He's probably already forgotten about it. Let's just move on."
Jim-In gave Y/N a skeptical look but decided to drop the topic, at least for the moment. "Fine, but I'm keeping my eye on this. I sense a story brewing here," she said with a mischievous grin.
As they walked towards their next class, Y/N couldn't help but feel a tiny flutter in her stomach. Despite her efforts to dismiss it, the encounter with Taehyun, the bad boy, had left a lingering impression. Jim-In and Y/N walked into class, finding their seats as the teacher began roll call. When he called out the names of Taehyun, Beomgyu, Hueningkai, Soobin, and Yeonjun, there was silence. No one was surprised; they were known for their habitual tardiness.
The teacher sighed, shaking his head slightly. "Absent as usual," he mumbled, then moved on with the homeroom activities.
Thirty minutes into the lesson, the boys made a grand entrance. The teacher raised an eyebrow, "Decided to join us? I hope skipping class was worth it."
Yeonjun flashed a grin, "You know us, always seeking adventure."
Beomgyu added, "The hallways were calling our names."
"Take your seats, gentlemen," the teacher directed, his tone firm yet resigned.
As they sat down, Yeonjun immediately tried to catch a quick nap, while Hueningkai and Beomgyu started crafting paper airplanes. Soobin was doodling, and Taehyun tried to focus on the lesson, but his gaze kept drifting to Y/N, who was diligently paying attention.
The monotony of the class was broken when a pair of students entered with a Valentine's gift trolley. "Special delivery for some of you!" they announced, sparking a mix of reactions in the classroom.
Jim-In received a grand bouquet, a stuffed bunny, and chocolates, likely from her boyfriend. "He really went all out!" she gushed, beaming.
Then, surprisingly, Yeonjun's name was called. He received an anonymous gift, causing him to flush a shade of red. Soobin, Hueningkai, and Beomgyu tried to hold back their laughter, earning a glare from Yeonjun.
"Someone's got a secret admirer," Soobin teased.
Yeonjun, trying to regain his composure, shot back, "At least someone appreciates my charm."
Taehyun, seeing Yeonjun's reaction, couldn't help but smirk, "Guess you're not as tough as you thought, huh?"
Finally, Y/N's name was called. Her heart raced as she was handed chocolates and roses, along with an anonymous note expressing admiration and the promise of more gifts leading up to Valentine's Day.
Y/N read the note, her voice tinged with disbelief, "Someone's been liking me for a while?"
Jim-In leaned over, her curiosity piqued. "What does it say? Come on, spill!"
Meanwhile, Taehyun watched from his seat, his heart pounding. He had sent the gifts but remained stoic, fearing his friends would immediately connect the dots.
Beomgyu nudged him, "You see Y/N's gift? Wonder who's got a crush on her."
Taehyun, feigning indifference, shrugged. "No idea, man."
Soobin, eyeing Taehyun, smirked. "You're unusually quiet, Taehyun. Something on your mind?"
Taehyun shook his head, "Just thinking about the test next week."
Yeonjun, still holding his own anonymous gift, chimed in, "Looks like love is in the air for everyone but us, huh?"
The classroom remained abuzz with whispers and speculation as the lesson came to a close. Y/N, her mind racing with thoughts about the anonymous note, couldn't help but keep glancing at it. Taehyun, meanwhile, sat in silence, his mind consumed by his secret Valentine's plan.
As they left the classroom, Jim-In was practically radiating excitement. "Y/N, you have to read me the note again. It's just so cute!"
Y/N, a soft blush coloring her cheeks, unfolded the note and read, "I hope you like the gift. I've liked you for a while but never knew how to confess. I hope I have the courage to tell you on Valentine's Day. I remember your favourite flavour is strawberry chocolate. Love, anonymous."
Jim-In squealed with delight, "Oh my gosh, Y/N, that is so romantic! Someone really likes you!"
Y/N couldn't help but smile, though she felt a bit overwhelmed. "Yeah, it's... really unexpected."
At that moment, Jim-In's boyfriend approached, a curious smile on his face. "Hey, what's all the excitement about?"
Jim-In, beaming, pointed at Y/N's gifts. "Y/N has a secret admirer! Look at this!"
Her boyfriend laughed, "That's awesome! Y/N, you've got a mystery on your hands. Any guesses who it is?"
Y/N shook her head, her curiosity piqued. "I really have no idea."
Back in the classroom, Taehyun and his friends were taking their time to leave. Yeonjun, holding his anonymous gift, looked both amused and puzzled. "I mean, who sends me a Valentine's gift anonymously? It's not like I'm hard to approach."
Beomgyu chuckled, "Maybe it's someone who's been admiring you from afar, Yeonjun."
Hueningkai added, "Or someone who enjoys playing the mysterious admirer."
Soobin, still laughing, said, "Who knows? Maybe they're just shy."
Yeonjun rolled his eyes, "Shy or not, it's got me intrigued."
Taehyun, still deep in thought about his own secret, tried to remain inconspicuous. Hueningkai noticed his quiet demeanor. "Taehyun, you're unusually silent. What's up?"
Taehyun quickly composed himself, "Just thinking about the project due next week."
Beomgyu raised his eyebrows, "Since when do you worry so much about school projects?"
Taehyun shrugged nonchalantly, "Just want to make sure I do well, you know?"
The next day brought another surprise for Y/N. As she opened her locker, heart-shaped balloons floated out, causing her to jump and let out a small yelp. The unexpected spectacle drew the attention of nearby students, many of whom turned to look, some with smiles and others with curious glances.
Jim-In, who was standing nearby, burst into laughter at Y/N's startled reaction. "Oh my gosh, Y/N, this is too cute!" she exclaimed, reaching into the locker to retrieve a note nestled within a basket. The basket was filled with more chocolates and a plush bear, adding to the charm of the gift.
Y/N's cheeks turned a deep shade of red from both the surprise and the attention it garnered. "I can't believe this is happening," she muttered, half embarrassed and half delighted, as she tried to stuff the balloons back into her locker.
Meanwhile, Taehyun observed the scene from a distance, standing by his locker with a subtle smile playing on his lips. His friends, unaware of his involvement, were busy with their own antics. This time, Beomgyu was the recipient of a Valentine's gift, causing the tables to turn as he faced a round of laughter and teasing from the others.
Yeonjun, still amused by his own experience from the previous day, pointed at Beomgyu, "Looks like the cupid's arrow found another target!"
Beomgyu, holding the gift awkwardly, tried to play it cool. "Yeah, well, who wouldn't want a piece of this?" he joked, trying to deflect the teasing.
Soobin joined in the laughter, "Who knew our Beomgyu was such a heartthrob?"
Hueningkai chuckled, "Seems like everyone's getting a secret admirer these days."
Taehyun, joining in the laughter, watched as his friends enjoyed the moment. Despite his amusement, his attention was still partially on Y/N, who was now reading the note Jim-In had handed her. The look of genuine surprise and happiness on her face made him feel a mix of nervousness and excitement for his plan leading up to Valentine's Day.
Back at Y/N's locker, Jim-In was eagerly waiting. "Well, what does the note say this time?" she asked with an expectant grin.
Y/N read the note, her voice soft, "It says, 'Another day closer to Valentine's Day. I hope these gifts bring a smile to your face as much as your smile brightens my day. Counting down the moments until I can finally reveal myself. Love, anonymous.'"
Jim-In squealed, "This is like a fairy tale! You have a real-life secret admirer!"
Y/N, still processing the situation, replied, "It's definitely unexpected. I never thought something like this would happen to me."
On this particular day, Taehyun and his friends, known for their habitual tardiness, surprisingly made it to their science class on time. The class, often a scene of their pranks and mischief, buzzed with a sense of expectation. Memories of Soobin and Yeonjun's last experiment, which had turned the classroom into a gooey mess, were still fresh in everyone's mind.
As Y/N and Taehyun approached the classroom, they accidentally collided at the doorway. They shared a brief, awkward moment of eye contact before Taehyun, with a slightly exaggerated gentlemanly gesture, stepped aside and said, "After you, m'lady," his voice a mix of playful and smooth, accompanied by a cheeky grin.
Y/N, taken aback by this unexpected chivalry, managed a shy "Thank you," and stepped into the room, with Taehyun following close behind. Inside, he seized the opportunity to address a recent mishap. Gently taking her arm to get her attention, he said, "Hey, about the other day... Sorry for crashing into you. Beomgyu pushed me a bit too hard."
Y/N, surprised by his apology, felt a flutter in her heart. "Oh, um, it's okay. I know you guys were just messing around," she stammered, her cheeks slightly coloring as she caught a whiff of his cologne mingling with her perfume.
From behind, Taehyun's friends watched the exchange, barely concealing their smirks. Taehyun, sensing their gaze, tried to maintain his cool demeanor.
The teacher entered the classroom, breaking the moment. "Alright, everyone, take your seats. We have a lot to cover today," he announced, moving to the front of the class.
As the lesson progressed, the teacher began pairing students for a lab experiment. "Yeonjun, you're with Lisa," he said, assigning Yeonjun to a girl in the class. Yeonjun flashed a charming smile and sauntered over to his partner.
"Hueningkai, you'll work with Mark," the teacher continued, pairing Hueningkai with another boy who seemed enthusiastic about the experiment.
Finally, he paired Taehyun with Y/N, causing a slight buzz among their classmates. Soobin and Beomgyu were paired together, much to their delight.
Initially, the atmosphere between Taehyun and Y/N was tinged with awkwardness, but as they began the experiment, they found common ground. They shared jokes, and Taehyun's usual tough exterior began to soften in Y/N's presence.
"So, those gifts you've been getting," Taehyun ventured, "must be quite a surprise, huh?"
Y/N nodded, mixing the chemicals as instructed. "Yeah, I've never gotten anything like this before. It's nice, but also kind of overwhelming. I'm really curious about who it is."
Their conversation flowed naturally, and they laughed together, forgetting the experiment for a moment.
Meanwhile, Yeonjun was laying on his charm thick with Lisa, making her giggle with his playful antics. Hueningkai, on the other hand, looked bored as Mark enthusiastically explained their task.
Suddenly, a loud pop interrupted the calm of the classroom. A bright pink goo exploded from Soobin and Beomgyu's workstation, drenching them and splattering Taehyun and Y/N as well.
Soobin and Beomgyu, caught in the epicenter of the mess, burst into laughter, high-fiving each other despite the disaster. "That was epic!" Soobin exclaimed, covered in pink goo.
The teacher, however, was far from amused. His face red with anger, he glared at Soobin and Beomgyu. "This is unacceptable! Look at this mess! You've not only ruined your own experiment but also disrupted the entire class!"
The rest of the class erupted into a mix of laughter and groans, with some students trying to dodge the flying goo. Y/N and Taehyun, now both splattered in pink, shared a look of disbelief mixed with amusement.
"This is going to take forever to clean up," Y/N said, trying to wipe the goo off her arm.
Taehyun chuckled, "Yeah, but it's kind of funny, isn't it?"
As the teacher began to reprimand Soobin and Beomgyu, the rest of the class started to clean up the mess. After the chaos subsided and the class was brought back to order, Taehyun and Y/N worked together to clean themselves up from the goo explosion. Fortunately, the mess wasn't as bad as it initially seemed.
The teacher, having finished his stern lecture to Soobin and Beomgyu, received only half-hearted apologies in return. The pair, still chuckling from their antics, sauntered back to their desks, Beomgyu clapping his hands joyously, clearly pleased with their mischievous success.
Yeonjun and Hueningkai joined in the laughter, finding the entire situation amusing. Taehyun, attempting to be more mature about the incident, couldn't help but chuckle along, occasionally glancing over at Y/N.
"Your friends are very interesting, huh?" Y/N remarked with a small smile, as she dabbed at a pink stain on her shirt.
Taehyun blushed slightly, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, they are... a bit crazy, but they're the only friends I have. We've been tight since middle school. Almost like brothers, even if we are a bad influence in this school and for each other."
Y/N nodded, understandingly. "It's nice to have friends like that, though. People who stick with you through everything."
"Yeah, it is," Taehyun agreed, a soft smile forming on his lips. "They're a handful, but I wouldn't trade them for anything."
The bell rang, signaling the end of class. As the students began to file out, Taehyun hesitated for a moment before speaking up. "Hey, Y/N? I know this is kind of sudden, but would you like to hang out with us sometime? I mean, it might not be your scene, but it could be fun."
Y/N was taken aback by the invitation, her eyes widening slightly in surprise. "Hang out with you and your friends?" she echoed, a mix of curiosity and nervousness in her voice.
"Yeah, just to, you know, see the other side of us. We're not always causing trouble," Taehyun said with a half-grin.
Y/N considered for a moment, then smiled. "Sure, why not? It could be interesting."
Taehyun's smile broadened. "Great! I'll let you know when. Thanks, Y/N."
As they left the classroom, Taehyun felt a sense of excitement at the prospect of spending time with Y/N outside of school. It was a step forward, a chance to show her a different side of him and his friends.
Back at Taehyun's locker, his friends were waiting, still buzzing from their latest science class escapade. "So, Taehyun, you and Y/N seemed pretty cozy cleaning up together," Soobin teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
Taehyun rolled his eyes, trying to downplay it. "We were just cleaning up the mess you two made. And I invited her to hang out with us."
Beomgyu whistled. "Look at you, bringing new people into our circle. This should be interesting."
Yeonjun chimed in, "I bet she'll run for the hills once she sees what we're really like."
"Or she might surprise you," Taehyun shot back, closing his locker with a definitive click. "Let's just try not to scare her off on the first hangout, okay?"
The group laughed and joked as they made their way out of the school, the bonds of their friendship evident in their easy banter.  As Y/N and Jim-In walked home, the balloons and gifts from Y/N's secret admirer were a colorful and tangible reminder of the day's unexpected events. Jim-In was practically buzzing with excitement after hearing about Taehyun's invitation.
"Wait, let me get this straight," Jim-In said, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Taehyun, the notorious Taehyun, invited you to hang out with him and his friends?"
Y/N nodded, a mix of nerves and excitement in her voice. "Yeah, it was really out of the blue. He just asked me after the science class fiasco."
Jim-In's boyfriend, who was walking with them, chimed in, sounding equally surprised. "That's...wow. That's really something. Taehyun and his gang are like legends in our school. And not necessarily for the best reasons."
Y/N glanced down at the gifts in her hands, her mind racing with thoughts. "I know, it's strange. I mean, I'm just...me. Why would he want to hang out with someone like me?"
Jim-In playfully nudged her. "Because you're amazing, Y/N. Don't sell yourself short. But this is so unlike Taehyun and his friends. They're like this tight-knit circle that no one penetrates."
"Yeah, I'm curious about what it's like to be with them outside of school. I mean, they can't be causing chaos all the time, right?" Y/N mused, trying to imagine what an afternoon with Taehyun and his friends might entail.
Her boyfriend laughed, "Well, I guess you'll find out. Just be careful, okay? Those guys are known for being a handful."
Y/N smiled, feeling a surge of adventurous spirit. "I will be. It's just hanging out. What's the worst that could happen?"
As they continued their walk home, the conversation shifted to other topics, but Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation about the upcoming hangout. It was a step outside her comfort zone, a dive into the unknown world of Taehyun and his friends. Little did she know, this decision would open doors to experiences and relationships she never expected.
Meanwhile, back at school, Taehyun was discussing the plan with his friends. "So, I invited Y/N to hang out with us. Just thought it would be nice," he explained, slightly apprehensive about their reaction.
"So, the good girl joins the dark side, huh?" Soobin joked, elbowing Taehyun playfully.
Taehyun shrugged, "I just think she should see that we're not as bad as everyone makes us out to be."
Yeonjun looked thoughtful. "It's going to be interesting, that's for sure. But hey, maybe it's good for us too, you know? Mixing it up a bit."
Beomgyu nodded in agreement. "Yeah, let's show her a good time. Who knows, she might even enjoy our company."
Upon entering her home, Y/N was greeted by the familiar, comforting sights of her family. Her mother was in the living room, her brother lounging on the couch. They both noticed the gifts in her hands almost immediately.
Her mother's eyes lit up with a warm smile. "Are those from your secret admirer again?" she asked, her tone laced with gentle teasing.
"Yeah, it was like a surprise attack in my locker today," Y/N replied, setting the gifts down on the coffee table. The heart-shaped balloons bobbed gently in the air, adding a festive touch to the room.
Her brother, looking up from his phone, raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Why would anyone want to give you a gift?" he quipped, only half-serious.
Their mother promptly smacked him lightly on the arm. "Don't be rude! It's sweet that someone thinks so highly of your sister."
Y/N rolled her eyes, used to her brother's teasing. "Thanks for the support, bro," she said sarcastically.
Her brother grinned and shrugged. "Just keeping it real. But seriously, do you have any idea who it could be?"
Y/N shook her head, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "No clue. But it's kind of exciting, not knowing."
Her mother leaned forward, her expression turning thoughtful. "Just be careful, dear. Secret admirers are romantic, but you never know."
"I know, Mom. I'm being careful," Y/N reassured her, picking up one of the chocolates from the basket.
Changing the subject, her brother asked, "So, how was school today? Anything fun happen?"
Y/N hesitated for a moment before sharing the day's events. "Well, something interesting did happen. Taehyun, you know, the one from the 'bad boy' group at school, he invited me to hang out with him and his friends."
Her mother looked up sharply. "Taehyun? Isn't he the one always getting into trouble?"
Her brother whistled. "Wow, hanging out with the rebels, huh? That's unexpected."
"It's just as friends," Y/N clarified. "I think it could be interesting to see what they're really like outside of school."
Her mother still looked concerned. "Just be careful, Y/N. Those boys have quite a reputation."
"I will be, Mom. It's just hanging out. Plus, I think there's more to them than the rumors say," Y/N said, a trace of conviction in her voice.
Her brother smirked. "Well, if you're going to infiltrate the bad boys' club, you'll have to keep us updated. This could be better than TV."
Y/N laughed, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort in her family's presence. "I'll be sure to give you all the juicy details," she promised, a playful glint in her eye.
When Y/N's father heard about her plans to hang out with Taehyun and his friends, his reaction was one of immediate and intense disapproval. "You're planning to spend time with those boys?" he asked sharply. "I've heard nothing good about them. It's out of the question."
Y/N, trying to calm the situation, assured him, "Dad, they're just being playful. Taehyun isn't as bad as he seems. It's just a friendly hangout, nothing more."
Her father, however, was adamant. "I don't want you associating with that crowd. They're known troublemakers. It's my job to keep you safe, and I won't have you getting mixed up in whatever they're involved in."
On the day of the hangout, Taehyun and his friends waited outside Y/N's apartment, feeling a bit out of place in the unfamiliar area. They were excited about the hangout, especially with someone as different as Y/N, but also curious about why Taehyun was so interested in her.
"Man, why are you so keen on Y/N hanging out with us?" Soobin asked, eyeing Taehyun curiously.
Taehyun, his heart racing with both nervousness and excitement, shrugged noncommittally. "I just think it's cool to mix things up a bit, you know? Show her a different side of us."
Beomgyu smirked, "Sure, Taehyun. 'Different side'."
As they talked, Y/N emerged from her apartment, casually yet stylishly dressed. The boys were visibly impressed, having only seen her in school attire before.
She gave a shy wave and approached them, but before they could leave, her father's voice boomed from above. "Y/N! Where do you think you're going?"
Y/N's face fell, and she turned to see her father leaning out of the window, his expression stern. "Dad, we talked about this. I'm just going to hang out with them for a little while."
Her father was unyielding. "I've made my decision. You are not going anywhere with those boys. It's final."
Y/N looked down, disappointment etched on her face. The boys exchanged uncomfortable glances, sensing the tension.
Just then, Y/N's mother appeared at the window, her tone firm yet soothing. "Dear, don't you think you're being a bit too strict? Y/N is a responsible girl. We should trust her judgment."
Her father seemed taken aback, his stern demeanor faltering slightly. "But..."
Y/N's mother continued, "She's growing up. We can't keep her sheltered forever. Let her go, she'll be fine."
After a moment of tense silence, her father sighed deeply, his expression softening. "Alright. But be back before it gets dark." Her father's eyes then shifted to Taehyun and the others. "And you boys, I expect her back home safe and sound. Understand?"
Taehyun met her father's gaze. "Yes, sir. We'll take good care of her."
With a final, cautious look, her father withdrew from the window. Y/N let out a small sigh. "Sorry about that. He's just... protective."
Taehyun nodded, "It's cool. We get it. Let's go have some fun, yeah?"
As they arrived at the arcade, the atmosphere instantly turned energetic. The boys, true to their nature, were a lively bunch, their laughter and jokes echoing around the arcade as they jumped from one game to another.
Taehyun, while still part of the fun, seemed to have toned down his usual antics. It was clear he was trying to make a good impression. He stayed close to Y/N, ensuring she felt included in their group's dynamic.
"This is crazy! I've never seen you guys outside of school like this. It's... different," Y/N commented, a smile on her face as she watched them.
Taehyun chuckled, "Yeah, we can get a bit wild. But it's all in good fun. Are you enjoying it?"
"Yeah, it's fun. You guys are really into these games, huh?" Y/N replied, watching as Beomgyu and Soobin competed fiercely at a racing game.
Just then, Yeonjun came over, a bunch of tickets in hand and a playful glint in his eyes. He casually slung an arm around Y/N's shoulder. "Look at this, Y/N! We're winning big today. You've brought us good luck!"
Y/N laughed, slightly taken aback by his friendliness. "I guess I have. Nice job with the tickets!"
Taehyun, noticing Yeonjun's arm around Y/N, couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy, but he quickly brushed it off and joined in the fun. "Yeonjun, planning to win something big with those?"
Yeonjun winked, "You bet! We're gonna get the biggest prize they have. Y/N, you get to pick it out!"
Y/N's eyes widened in mock seriousness. "Oh, the pressure! I'll have to choose wisely."
The group moved on to try other games, with Y/N occasionally playing alongside them. The boys' enthusiasm was infectious, and she found herself getting caught up in the excitement.
As they played, Hueningkai nudged Taehyun, "You seem different today, man. You're usually the first one to start the craziness."
Taehyun shot him a quick smile. "Just trying to make sure Y/N has a good time, that's all."
"Looks like you're doing more than that," Hueningkai teased, raising an eyebrow.
Taehyun shrugged, a slight blush on his cheeks. "Maybe."
As Y/N and Soobin engaged in a spirited game at the arcade, Soobin casually asked, "So, Y/N, have you figured out who's been sending you those gifts?"
Taehyun, who was nearby, perked up at the question, his interest piqued as he pretended to focus on his game.
Y/N shook her head, concentrating on the game. "No, I still have no idea. But it's kind of intriguing. They knew I liked chocolate with strawberry filling, which is pretty specific."
Soobin paused the game momentarily, thoughtful. "Maybe they overheard you talking about it with Jim-In, or saw her give you that kind of chocolate as a gift."
Y/N considered this for a moment, then shrugged. "Maybe. It is cute that they paid attention to that detail, though."
As the game resumed, Y/N emerged as the winner, her face lighting up with a cheerful clap and a small victory dance. Soobin playfully sighed in defeat, but he couldn't help smiling at her enthusiasm. The rest of the boys, especially Taehyun, found her celebration endearing.
Yeonjun, ever the playful one, approached Y/N with Beomgyu. "Hey, Y/N, how about a game against us next? Let's see if you can keep your winning streak."
Y/N laughed, accepting the challenge. "Sure, bring it on! I'm feeling lucky today."
As they set up for another round of games, Taehyun's gaze lingered on Y/N, his face softened by a gentle smile. He found himself increasingly drawn to her genuine nature and vibrant enthusiasm, a refreshing change from the usual group dynamics.
The evening unfolded with a mix of games and laughter, and Y/N proved to be a formidable competitor, much to the boys' delight. They each took turns playing against her, relishing the friendly competition and the camaraderie that was steadily building.
In between the games, Taehyun often caught himself watching Y/N, admiring the way her energy and spirit seemed to light up the room. He realized how much he valued these moments, breaking away from their usual routine.
Deciding to take a break, the group headed to the fast-food section of the arcade. Amidst the banter and jokes, Hueningkai's attention was suddenly drawn to his sisters, Bahiyyih and Lea, approaching them.
"Causing trouble again, Kai?" Lea, his older sister, asked with a knowing look.
Hueningkai, a bit surprised to see them, retorted playfully, "What are you two doing here?"
"We're keeping an eye on you, of course," Bahiyyih, his younger sister, teased. She then glanced at Y/N. "And I see you've found an innocent victim."
Hueningkai quickly introduced his sisters to Y/N. "This is Y/N, she's not a victim, just hanging out with us today."
Bahiyyih, with a hint of mischief in her tone, then dropped a bombshell. "By the way, the school called about the science room incident."
Hueningkai's face registered shock. "They called our parents? But it wasn't even my fault; it was Soobin's and Beomgyu's doing!"
Soobin, overhearing the conversation, chimed in, "Hey, it was an accident! We didn't mean for it to explode like that."
Beomgyu added, "Yeah, who knew that mixing those two things would cause such a mess?"
Lea shook her head, half amused and half exasperated. "You guys really need to be more careful. You're lucky it was just a harmless mess."
Taehyun interjected, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, at least it made for a memorable science class, right?"
Y/N laughed, "Definitely memorable. I've never seen anything like that in class before."
As they settled in with their food, the conversation among the group was lively and engaging. Bahiyyih, being the social butterfly she was, directed a stream of questions at Y/N, who answered them with ease.
"So, you're in the same school and year as these guys?" Bahiyyih asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Y/N nodded, taking a bite of her burger. "Yeah, that's right. I've known them mostly just from around school, though."
"And how did you end up hanging out with them today?" Lea inquired, a playful smirk on her face.
"It was actually Taehyun's idea," Y/N replied, glancing at Taehyun, who gave a small, embarrassed smile. "I have to say, I was a bit surprised at first, but they're really fun to be around."
Lea laughed, her gaze sweeping over the boys. "Yeah, they can be a riot. A bunch of misfits maybe, and known to skip a class or two, but they mean well."
Hueningkai feigned offense, "Riot!?" he exclaimed, trying to look scandalized.
Beomgyu joined in, "Misfits?" he echoed, his tone mockingly hurt.
Yeonjun, ever the playful one, flicked a fry at Taehyun, grinning. "At least we're fun," he declared.
Taehyun, dodging the fry, chuckled. "Yeah, we have our moments. But hey, we're not that bad, right?"
Y/N smiled, enjoying the banter. "Not at all. I've had a really great time today. You guys are different than I thought."
Soobin, leaning back in his chair, added, "See, we're not just troublemakers. We have our charming sides too."
Bahiyyih giggled, "Well, I'm glad to see Kai has friends who are as lively as him. Makes for an interesting day, doesn't it?"
Bahiyyih and Lea decided to leave after their meal, giving the boys and Y/N some space to continue their fun. Before leaving, Bahiyyih playfully warned them, "Alright, boys, don't corrupt Y/N too much, or you'll have me and Lea to answer to!"
The group laughed, and Soobin called after them, "No promises, but we'll try our best!"
Once Bahiyyih and Lea had left, the group headed back to the arcade games, their energy seemingly endless. After a while, they decided to switch it up and go bowling. The game was filled with cheers and friendly taunts, and it wasn't long before they amassed a sizable number of tickets.
At the prize counter, the attendant gawked at the mountain of tickets they had collected. He presented them with two prize options, and Yeonjun announced, "This is gonna be a gift for Y/N. You pick."
Y/N's eyes settled on a large plushie. "I think I'll go with this one. It'll go well with the bear I got from my Valentine's gift," she said, a soft smile on her lips.
The boys collectively let out an "Awe," and Taehyun's cheeks turned a light shade of pink, though he tried to hide it.
As the sun began to set, they decided to cap off the day with ice cream. The boys, their energy finally waning, were noticeably calmer, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Y/N, trying to juggle her giant plushie and her ice cream, was a comical sight. "I might need an extra pair of hands for this," she joked, struggling to balance everything.
The boys offered to help, with Taehyun taking the plushie off her hands. "Let me carry that for you. You've got enough on your hands with the ice cream."
As they walked Y/N back home, the conversation was filled with reflections on the day's events. "We should definitely do this more often," Hueningkai suggested. "You're a lot of fun, Y/N, and it's cool having you around."
"Yeah, it was great having you with us," Yeonjun agreed. "You fit right in."
When they reached Y/N's apartment, Taehyun walked her to the door, the rest of the group hanging back. "I had a really good time today," Taehyun said, his voice sincere. "Thanks for joining us."
Y/N's smile brightened. "Thank you all for having me. I had a lot of fun too."
There was a moment of silence as they exchanged glances, a hint of something unspoken lingering in the air. Taehyun opened his mouth to say something more, but the moment was interrupted as the door swung open, revealing Y/N's father with a stern expression.
"Ah, I'll see you at school on Monday," Taehyun said quickly, stepping back.
"Thanks again, Taehyun. Goodnight," Y/N replied before turning to go inside, her smile unwavering.
As Taehyun rejoined his friends after leaving Y/N at her doorstep, his usually composed expression was replaced by a more contemplative look. His friends, quick to notice the change, gathered around him. Hueningkai, with a teasing grin, slung an arm over Taehyun's shoulder.
"Ooh, what's with the pensive look? You've had that face all day," Yeonjun prodded, a playful edge to his voice.
Hueningkai nodded, his own smile spreading. "Yeah, it's not just today. We've seen it for a while now. You've got that faraway look in your eyes whenever Y/N's around."
Beomgyu leaned in, his tone mischievous. "And what about when you bumped into her, huh? Plus, that overly dramatic apology in the science class... Were you planning to keep your crush on Y/N secret forever, Taehyun?"
Soobin, who had been observing the conversation quietly, finally spoke up, his gaze fixed on Taehyun. "I bet you're her secret admirer, right? You've been the one leaving those Valentine's gifts for her. You always seem so... happy, content even, when she's around."
The group's playful yet pointed observations finally nudged Taehyun's defenses. He let out a resigned sigh, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Alright, you guys are too sharp for your own good. Yes, I like her. I've always liked her, and yes, I've been leaving those Valentine's gifts for her. I was planning to tell her on Valentine's Day."
The group erupted into a mixture of surprise and excitement. Yeonjun laughed heartily. "Our Taehyun, the tough guy, turning all soft for the good girl. This is epic!"
Hueningkai, still grinning, gave Taehyun a playful punch on the arm. "Man, you've been playing the mysterious admirer all along. That's kind of romantic, you know."
Beomgyu, leaning against a nearby post, looked at Taehyun with newfound respect. "You've been planning this for a while, haven't you? Going all out with the gifts and the secret admirer angle."
Soobin, who had always been more observant, added thoughtfully, "It's nice to see this side of you, Taehyun. But why wait until Valentine's Day? Why not tell her sooner?"
Taehyun ran a hand through his hair, a bit embarrassed but honest. "I don't know, I guess I wanted to build it up, make it special. I've never felt this way about someone before. I wanted to do it right."
Yeonjun nodded, understandingly. "Well, you've definitely made an impression. She seems to really like the gifts."
The conversation shifted as the boys started offering Taehyun advice on how to reveal his feelings to Y/N. They threw around various ideas, each more elaborate than the last.
"Why not a grand romantic gesture in front of the whole school?" suggested Hueningkai, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Beomgyu laughed. "Or you could write her a song. Girls love that stuff."
Soobin, ever the voice of reason, chimed in. "Or just be yourself, man. Tell her how you feel, simply and honestly. Sometimes that's all it takes."
As they walked home, the boys continued to discuss plans and ideas, their laughter and jokes echoing in the night. Taehyun felt a sense of warmth and gratitude for his friends. Despite their teasing, he knew they had his back. Monday at school found Taehyun more anxious than usual, his mind preoccupied with the upcoming Valentine’s Day. His friends, meanwhile, were immersed in their usual playful antics. In the midst of a casual game, Beomgyu lobbed a basketball at Soobin, who, lacking any coordination, missed the catch. The ball veered off and accidentally hit a freshman passing by.
“Hey, watch it!” the freshman exclaimed, more startled than hurt.
Beomgyu burst out laughing, followed by the rest of the boys, their apologies half-hearted as usual. “Sorry, dude! Didn’t see you there,” Beomgyu called out, still chuckling.
Yeonjun, always quick to smooth things over, approached the freshman. “You alright, man? These guys are a handful,” he said, playfully rubbing the boy’s head.
Taehyun, although part of the group, was distracted. His gaze followed Y/N as she approached her locker and discovered another gift he had left. He had noticed over the weekend that her favorite lip gloss was almost finished, so he had replaced it with a new one, along with a matching lipstick from the same expensive brand.
Y/N’s reaction was exactly what Taehyun had hoped for. Her eyes widened in surprise and delight. Jim-In, who was with her, exclaimed, “Wow, Y/N, these are seriously pricey! Whoever your secret admirer is, they have great taste.”
The boys’ laughter subsided as they overheard Jim-In’s comments. Taehyun felt a flutter of excitement but also a twinge of apprehension. What would others think if they found out about his crush? What about the teachers, or worse, Y/N’s father?
Meanwhile, Y/N and Jim-In continued their conversation about the gift. “It’s crazy, right? Someone actually knows I love this brand,” Y/N said, still marveling at the gift.
Jim-In, her eyes sparkling with curiosity, asked, “So, how was hanging out with Taehyun and his gang? They’re quite the notorious group at school.”
Y/N smiled, a fond look in her eyes. “It was actually really fun. We went to the arcade, played some games, met Hueningkai’s siblings… They’re not as bad as they seem. They’re mostly just jokers and pretty playful.”
Jim-In noticed the change in Y/N’s demeanor. “Sounds like you’re quite fond of them, especially Taehyun?”
Y/N pulled out the almost empty lip gloss and compared it with the new one. “It’s funny that someone knew I like this brand. I only buy it once a year because it’s so expensive.”
Then, a realization dawned on her. “I was using this when we were hanging out over the weekend.”
Jim-In’s eyes widened. “What if it’s Taehyun or one of his friends who’s your secret admirer? Who else would know about the brand you use unless they were around you?”
Y/N paused, the possibility sinking in. “That… that would be something. But why would Taehyun do something like that?”
Jim-In grinned, nudging Y/N playfully. “Why not? Maybe he likes you. It would explain a lot, actually.”
Y/N blushed, the thought both exciting and nerve-wracking. “I don’t know, Jim-In. It seems far-fetched.”
“Maybe,” Jim-In conceded. “But it’s kind of romantic, isn’t it? The bad boy falling for the good girl?”
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. “You sound like you’re describing a movie.”
As the girls walked to their next class, their conversation continued, with Jim-In playfully teasing Y/N about the possibility of Taehyun being her secret admirer. Y/N, although unsure, couldn’t help but feel a flutter of excitement at the thought.
The school day concluded with Taehyun caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Every glance towards Y/N was a mix of anticipation and anxiety. The thought of revealing his feelings in a matter of days filled him with a sense of dread and exhilaration.
Back at Y/N’s home, the latest gift from Taehyun sparked a mix of reactions from her family. Her mother and brother examined the expensive lip gloss and lipstick with wide eyes.
“Wow, your secret admirer must be loaded,” her brother remarked with a chuckle. “I say go for it. Anyone who gives gifts like these is a keeper.”
Her mother, amused but thoughtful, added, “It’s certainly impressive. Someone is going to great lengths to impress you.”
Y/N laughed, slightly embarrassed but also intrigued by the idea. “It’s just a gift. I don’t even know who it’s from.”
Her father, however, still harbored reservations from the weekend’s events. He glanced at the gift, his expression one of caution. “Remember, Y/N, expensive gifts don’t always mean good intentions. Be careful about who you trust.”
Y/N nodded, understanding her father’s concern. “I know, Dad. I’m not taking it too seriously. It’s just nice to receive something like this.”
The conversation at dinner revolved around the mysterious gifts and possible admirers. Y/N’s brother kept teasing her, suggesting various dramatic scenarios of secret love confessions, while her mother enjoyed the playful banter. Her father, though participating in the conversation, maintained a watchful eye, protective of his daughter.
Meanwhile, at Taehyun’s home, he found himself in his room, lost in thought. His mind kept replaying the day’s events, especially Y/N’s reactions to the gifts. He felt a mix of hope and trepidation about revealing his feelings.
As he lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, his phone buzzed. It was a message from Soobin.
Soobin: “Hey, how are you holding up? Nervous about the big day?”
Taehyun typed a response, his fingers hesitating over the keys.
Taehyun: “Yeah, kind of. Just hoping it goes well.”
Soobin: “It will. Just be yourself. That’s who she’s been hanging out with, right?”
Taehyun smiled, feeling a bit reassured.
Taehyun: “Thanks, man. It means a lot.”
Soobin: “Anytime. We’re all here for you. You’re not going through this alone.”
Closing the chat, Taehyun felt a sense of gratitude for his friends. Their support was a constant in his life, something he could always rely on.
The night passed with Taehyun’s thoughts alternating between optimism and worry. He tried to distract himself with music and games, but his mind invariably drifted back to Y/N.
The next day at school, the atmosphere was charged with the excitement of the upcoming Valentine’s Day. Students were abuzz with plans and speculations about who would confess to whom.
Taehyun tried to focus on his classes, but his attention was frequently drawn to Y/N. He noticed her cheerful demeanor and the way she interacted with her friends. She seemed oblivious to the effect she had on him.
During lunch, Taehyun and his friends gathered at their usual spot. The conversation naturally drifted to Valentine’s Day.
Beomgyu leaned in, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “So, Taehyun, got any last-minute jitters?”
Taehyun gave a wry smile. “Maybe a little. It’s just… a big step, you know?”
Hueningkai offered, “You’ve got this, Taehyun. No matter how it turns out, it’s better to express your feelings than to keep them hidden.”
Yeonjun nodded in agreement. “Yeah, and who knows? She might feel the same way. You’ve been nothing but thoughtful and kind to her.”
As the school day progressed, Taehyun’s nervousness was almost palpable. He found himself constantly glancing at the clock, each tick bringing him closer to the moment he would reveal his feelings to Y/N.
In a rare occurrence, Taehyun and his friends arrived to class before the bell, surprising everyone, including Y/N and Jim-In. Jim-In, ever the playful one, couldn’t resist making a comment. “Look who decided to grace us with their punctuality,” she quipped, eliciting laughter from the class.
The boys tried to maintain their cool, but they couldn’t help but playfully point fingers at Taehyun. “Yeah, Taehyun here wanted to be an exemplary student today,” Soobin joked, drawing more laughter.
Y/N took her seat next to Taehyun, who noticed she was using the lip gloss he had given her. It suited her perfectly, he thought, but he refrained from commenting.
Noticing Taehyun’s unusual demeanor, Y/N leaned over. “Are you okay, Taehyun? You seem a bit… off today.”
From behind, Hueningkai chimed in, trying to cover for his friend. “Oh, he’s fine. Just got a lot on his mind, right, Taehyun?”
Y/N smiled, seemingly unconvinced, but didn’t press further.
Jim-In, seizing the opportunity to tease, joined in. “Is it because tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day? Why would a bad boy like you be nervous about that?”
Taehyun, caught off guard by the comment, managed a weak smile. “Who says I’m nervous? Just another day, isn’t it?”
Yeonjun, overhearing the conversation, couldn’t resist adding his two cents. “Maybe our Taehyun has a secret Valentine he’s worried about impressing.”
The class erupted into whispers and giggles at Yeonjun’s implication, while Taehyun tried to play it cool, despite the heat rising to his cheeks.
Beomgyu, leaning forward, whispered teasingly to Taehyun, “Smooth, man. Keep it mysterious.”
Y/N looked at Taehyun, a curious glint in her eyes. “Do you really have someone you’re thinking about for Valentine’s Day?”
Taehyun, feeling the weight of the room’s attention, shrugged nonchalantly. “You never know. Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.”
The bell rang, signaling the start of the class, and the teacher walked in, drawing everyone’s attention away from the banter. Throughout the lesson, Taehyun found it hard to focus, his thoughts constantly drifting to Y/N and the impending Valentine’s Day.
As the day came to a close, Taehyun felt a mixture of relief and heightened anticipation. The final school bell rang like a clarion call, marking the end of the day and bringing him one step closer to his confession.
Y/N, packing up her things, turned to Taehyun with a friendly smile. “Well, whatever your plans are for tomorrow, I hope they go well for you, Taehyun.”
Taehyun, looking into her eyes, felt a surge of courage. “Thanks, Y/N. I hope so too.”
As they left the classroom, Taehyun’s friends rallied around him, offering last-minute words of encouragement and advice. The walk home was filled with their laughter and teasing, but Taehyun’s mind was elsewhere, focused on the day that lay ahead.
Valentine’s Day had dawned with a mix of trepidation and excitement for Taehyun. He walked through the school corridors, carrying an unmistakably large Valentine’s gift basket, drawing a mixture of whispers and giggles from the students. His friends, Yeonjun, Soobin, and Beomgyu, were at his side, providing a blend of teasing and moral support.
“You got this, man,” Yeonjun encouraged, clapping Taehyun on the back. “Who knows, maybe Y/N’s good-girl vibes will rub off on us. Well, on you at least,” he added with a half-joking tone.
Soobin, with a wide grin, ruffled Taehyun’s hair. “In every story, the bad boy changes for the good girl, right?”
Despite their comments, Taehyun felt a surge of nervous energy. Beomgyu, sensing his hesitation, gave him a gentle push towards Y/N, “Go on, man. This is your moment.”
At that moment, Jim-In was deep in conversation with Y/N about her boyfriend’s plans for the day. She stopped abruptly as she saw Taehyun approaching. With a nudge, she turned Y/N around to face him, drawing Y/N's attention to the spectacle unfolding.
Y/N looked up, her eyes widening in surprise as she saw Taehyun standing before her with the large basket. “Taehyun, what’s this?” she asked, a mixture of shock and curiosity in her voice.
The corridor fell silent, all eyes on Taehyun and Y/N. Taehyun took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest.
“Y/N,” he started, his voice barely above a whisper. “I need to tell you something. I'm the one who's been sending you those gifts. I've... I've liked you for a long time. I just didn't know how to say it, you know, with me and my friends... our reputation.”
Y/N's eyes widened in surprise. She looked at Taehyun, then at the basket, and back to him, her expression a mix of astonishment and curiosity. “Taehyun, this is... I had no idea. You've been...”
Taehyun paused, searching for the right words. “Yes, it's been me. I wasn't sure how to approach you, given how different our worlds seem.”
Y/N, still processing this revelation, took a moment before responding. “I've always seen you around, Taehyun. I thought you were just this unreachable bad boy. I never imagined you’d notice someone like me.”
Taehyun stepped closer, the noise of the corridor fading into the background. “Y/N, you’ve always stood out to me. I've always seen you.”
In a moment driven by pure emotion, Taehyun gently pulled Y/N by the waist towards him and kissed her. Startled at first, Y/N soon responded, wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him back.
Their kiss, amidst the hustle of the school corridor, was a silent confession of the feelings they had harbored. Around them, cheers and applause erupted from their classmates.
Yeonjun, Soobin, and Beomgyu were cheering the loudest, their voices resonating through the corridor. “Look at Taehyun go!” Yeonjun exclaimed.
Soobin added, laughing, “Who knew our Taehyun was such a romantic?”
Beomgyu shouted, “This is one for the school history books!”
Their cheers were so loud they attracted the attention of nearby teachers. “Enough with this commotion!” one teacher scolded, but the jubilant atmosphere was undeterred.
As Taehyun and Y/N broke apart from their embrace, they were both flushed with a mix of excitement and bashfulness. Y/N gazed up at Taehyun, a soft smile on her lips. “I didn’t see this coming, Taehyun. But I'm glad you told me.”
Taehyun, his nerves eased by her smile, replied warmly, “I'm glad too. Happy Valentine’s Day, Y/N.”
Jim-In, who had witnessed the entire scene, approached them, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Wow, Y/N, this is like a movie! You and Taehyun, who would’ve thought?”
As the day unfolded, Taehyun and Y/N’s relationship became the highlight of the school’s gossip. They, along with Jim-In and her boyfriend, found themselves at Taehyun’s usual hangout spot. Taehyun kept his arm casually draped around Y/N’s waist, a gesture that symbolized their new bond.
The group was in the midst of lighthearted banter when Hueningkai, with a twinkle in his eye, turned the conversation to the Valentine’s Day gifts. “Hey, Beomgyu, Yeonjun, did you guys ever figure out who was sending you those secret admirer gifts?”
Yeonjun, who had been momentarily caught up in the couple’s closeness, was jolted back to the conversation. “Oh man, I almost forgot about those. No, I still don’t know who it was.”
Just then, Lisa, the girl Yeonjun had flirted with in science class, approached. She looked slightly nervous but determined as she focused on Yeonjun.
“Hey, Lisa,” Yeonjun greeted her with his characteristic charm. “What brings you here?”
Blushing, Lisa handed him another gift. “I… I wanted to give this to you. You were always nice in class, and I just thought you should know…”
Yeonjun, taken aback, found his usual suave demeanor slipping as a blush crept onto his cheeks. “You’re my secret admirer? Wow, I didn’t expect this. Thank you, Lisa, this means a lot.”
Y/N leaned towards Taehyun, whispering, “Looks like the romance bug is catching on.”
Taehyun laughed, watching his friend’s bashful reaction. “Yeonjun losing his cool - now that’s a rare sight.”
Beomgyu, feeling a bit left out, remarked jokingly, “Hey, what about me? Don’t I get a secret admirer too?”
Almost on cue, a girl from another class, who had previously given Beomgyu a small gift, approached him with another gift in hand. Beomgyu’s playful demeanor shifted to a more bashful, appreciative tone as he accepted it. “Looks like I spoke too soon. Thanks, this is really kind of you.”
As the break ended, Taehyun escorted Y/N home, ensuring she arrived safely. At her doorstep, he tentatively suggested, “Would you like to go out somewhere nice this weekend? For a date?”
Y/N’s eyes lit up. “I’d love that, Taehyun.” She pulled him in for another kiss, a gentle confirmation of their feelings, before walking into her home.
Inside, Y/N’s brother, who had been watching the door camera, smirked and turned to their parents. “Guess what? Taehyun’s Y/N’s secret admirer. He was the one sending those gifts all along.”
Their father, who had been wary about the mysterious admirer, almost choked on his drink. “Taehyun? The boy with the… reputation?”
Their mother, more amused than concerned, added, “Well, it seems like he’s quite smitten with Y/N. Maybe he’s not as bad as his reputation suggests.”
Y/N’s brother, still smirking, quipped, “Seems like our Y/N has tamed the school’s bad boy.”
As the evening wore on, Y/N’s family engaged in playful banter about her budding romance with Taehyun. Though her father was initially apprehensive, the warm and affectionate way Taehyun had acted around Y/N softened his concerns.
Months had passed since Taehyun and Y/N began dating, and their relationship remained strong. The dynamic within their friend group was lively and joyful, with Taehyun and his friends maintaining their playful, slightly rebellious streak. Y/N, now an integral part of the group, often played the role of keeping Taehyun in check, something he surprisingly didn't mind.
One particularly vibrant afternoon in the school corridor, the group's energy was at its peak. Beomgyu was giving Yeonjun a piggyback ride, skipping along with exaggerated steps, drawing laughter from the students around them.
"Beomgyu, you're going to drop me!" Yeonjun laughed, holding onto Beomgyu's shoulders for dear life.
"Not a chance!" Beomgyu replied, a mischievous glint in his eye.
As they passed by Lisa, Yeonjun saw her and swiftly jumped off Beomgyu's back, sliding over to her with his signature charm. "Hey, Lisa, saved by the bell, huh?" he said with a wink.
Meanwhile, Beomgyu spotted his own girlfriend in the crowd and jogged over to her, playfully making her jump as he approached. "Gotcha!" he exclaimed, laughing as she playfully hit his arm.
Soobin and Hueningkai, still enjoying their single status, watched the scene unfold with amusement. Hueningkai's gaze then met with Mark, the science enthusiast he had been paired up with for a project.
"Hey, Mark! Ready for our science presentation?" Hueningkai called out, waving him over.
Mark, pushing up his glasses, walked over with a smile. "Absolutely, Hueningkai. Our project is going to rock the class."
Y/N and Taehyun stood off to the side, watching their friends with affectionate amusement. Taehyun wrapped an arm around Y/N's shoulder, pulling her close.
"Looks like we've created quite the lively bunch," Taehyun remarked, a content smile on his face.
Y/N chuckled, leaning into him. "I wouldn't have it any other way. They're all crazy, but it's our kind of crazy."
Jim-In, overhearing their conversation, chimed in with a laugh. “You two have really brought some balance to this group. It’s like watching a rom-com unfold every day.”
Her boyfriend nodded in agreement. “It’s great seeing how everyone’s changed, especially you, Taehyun. You’re still the bad boy, but now you’re also, like, the romantic lead.”
Just then, the school principal walked by, shaking his head at the commotion but unable to hide a small smile. "You lot are quite the spectacle. Keep it down a bit, will you?" he said in a tone that was more amused than stern.
"Of course, sir," Yeonjun replied, giving him a mock salute as the principal walked away.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of the break, the group gathered their things, still chuckling and joking with each other. They made their way to their next classes, their laughter and chatter echoing through the hallways.
As they parted ways, Taehyun gave Y/N a quick kiss on the cheek. "See you after class, Y/N. Can't wait for our date tomorrow."
Y/N's eyes sparkled with anticipation. "Me too, Taehyun. It's always an adventure with you."
As they walked into their respective classrooms, Taehyun couldn’t help but think about how much his life had changed for the better since Y/N came into it. He had found love, strengthened friendships, and even discovered a softer side to himself.
When the next day arrived, they all gathered for their group date, the laughter and fun continued. They ended up at a local amusement park, where Yeonjun tried to impress Lisa by winning a giant teddy bear at a game stall, only to be hilariously outdone by Beomgyu, who won two.
Soobin and Hueningkai, meanwhile, engaged in a friendly competition to see who could eat the most cotton candy, resulting in both of them feeling slightly ill but laughing nonetheless.
The day ended with a group photo, everyone’s arms around each other, big smiles on their faces. This photo would later find its way into the school yearbook, captioned, “The Unforgettable Bunch.”
As they all said their goodbyes, Taehyun looked at Y/N, happiness evident in his eyes. “You know, I used to think being the bad boy was all there was to me. But you, all of you, have shown me there's so much more to life.”
Y/N smiled, squeezing his hand. “And you’ve shown me that there's more to the bad boy than meets the eye. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
They walked away, hand in hand, under the starlit sky, surrounded by friends, laughter, and the promise of many more adventures to come. In the world of high school, where everything seemed fleeting and temporary, Taehyun and Y/N had found something enduring – a love that was as unexpected as it was genuine, and a friendship that would last a lifetime.

Summary: You had heard about numerous siren sightings upon this very beach; and you were determined to take a photo of at least one!
Perhaps, it was stupid, though, you were just ever so intrigued. After all this field of research was your specialty. Though, you’ve been here for two days and there’s still not single sight of one. Was your effort coming here going to got to waste?
A sudden voice breaks your thoughts, “My, my, are all humans this adorable when they space out?” You freeze instantly. No way.
—————————•••••••••••••————————
Grimacing, you tiredly trek across the sandy shoreline with sand beginning to slowly seep into your boots. The sound of the howling wind and ghastly chorus of waves splashing onto the shore make you feel slightly uneasy. You’ve never been too much of a fan of deep water; nor were you keen on anything related to the ocean, but this particular site was something you just had to go to.
You’d gained permission to conduct your own mini expedition for three days to gain evidence and to research the sirens along this particular stretch of coastline. Many rumours, photographs and most prominently the haunting songs of the sirens at night were enough proof for numerous researchers to come here on the regular. You just absolutely had to find one! Maybe even take a picture!
You place a trusty hand on your satchel containing your notes and your beloved camera. It had already been two days and you had spotted nothing. You’ve not even heard a single siren song either. At first you thought you’d stepped into the wrong portion of beach but to your dismay, this was indeed the place. Were you out of luck? Or was it not the proper season? Perhaps you were just misfortunate.
Sighing, you spot a rock and decide to settle yourself on it to rest. Your legs ache from all the walking you’ve done. Your gaze lifts up to the horizon where you see the edge of the sun dipping into the majestic line dividing the sky and sea. The blossoming hues of oranges, pinks and yellows fill the sky slowly like a watercolour to a paper. It was incredibly stunning. You had already taken a photo of this on your first day; but it still didn’t get tiring to see.
You feel the tide rise higher as the water caresses your boots. The foam and froth of the water being left behind with each sway and waves that climbed higher and higher up the shore. The salty air was now beginning to make your head ache from its pungency. You had collected various sea shells too from the sand; all of gorgeous variety.
However, you weren’t here for all that. You were here for the sirens. You simply wished to stay least get a glimpse of one. To see their enticing beauty, hear their alluring cries (not that you wish to be drawn to it of course) perhaps from a distance. Though it seems, fate had different plans for you. Maybe you weren’t meant to see one. This was your last day; you’d have to go back to your camp back up the cliffs and start packing. A frown graces your lips.
Well, hey, some alone time peering at the ocean wouldn’t do any harm now would it? You rest your chin on the palm of your hand and place your satchel to the side. Your mind drifts as you focus on the lapping waves and the looming sky. The beautiful scene had a touch of a melancholy aura. A mystical feeling that just made you want to stay here. There was indeed something about this place.
A sudden voice breaks your thoughts, “My, my, are all humans this adorable when they space out?” You freeze instantly. Your body stiffens as you turn your head to the source of the voice. To your surprise you spot a head and shoulders peeking out of the water just to the left of you.
Your entire being shakes with nervousness and excitement. No fucking way!
“Hm? Why so quiet, human? I swear your kind are much louder and cause much more ruckus than you do.” You peer agape at him; you drink in his appearance more clearly. “You’re…”
Your eyes are drawn to his damp red hair in which the glossy strands splay across his forehead. Not to mention his skin! His skin that shimmers in an almost bluish hue. His eyes that pierce into you with a gaze that’s half-playful, half-alluring. His chiselled features and his ever so slightly pointed ears give him away. He wades closer to the shoreline giving you a glimpse of his toned torso and siren markings. This was astonishing!
“Now, now human, don’t forget! You need to breathe. With your jaw hanging like that, you’d think a fly would go in.” You compose yourself feeling an excited jitter. “A siren…a real siren…” you murmur in awe. He was stunning, as though the gods had handcrafted and sculpted him with their bare hands! You couldn’t determine what species of siren he was (surely a rare one looking at those markings!) but either way this was insane. No less, he was talking to you!
“Hm…” he tilts his head seeming just as fascinated with you as you were with him. God, his eyes, his iridescent skin that shimmered beautifully as the sun melts into the horizon giving him an almost ethereal glow. He continues, “Why, yes, a real siren? Are you surprised, my pretty little human?”
“Pretty?” You quirk in confusion. The siren hums amused, “Yes? Did I show any hesitation in my speech? You seem a lot different to the other humans who come here trekking with all their fancy, expensive equipment. You seem younger… lovelier to look at. Less of a threat even.”
Well, a compliment was a compliment you suppose as weird as this interaction was. You had to be cautious, sirens were known to be vicious when upset. You hum tentatively, “…I see. Well, it’s lovely to meet you. I never thought I’d see a real siren before. This is just so, fascinating. You’re g-gorgeous.”
The male siren seems to gleam at your words and the water splashes as he swims closer, “My, are you flirting with me, pretty human?” Your eyes widen, “No-! I was just making observations.” The siren releases a breathy chuckle running his hands through his dripping locks of red hair. You notice the ever so subtle webbed skin between his fingers.
“You know, I don’t usually talk to humans. They particularly annoy me. Especially…you researcher folk. Always coming here with your big, noisy groups. Destroying the lovely scenery with your disgusting litter and obnoxious chatter.” As he speaks you note his teeth; rather pointy and sharp. His eyes snap back to yours locking your gaze, “However, you. You’re different. You’re by yourself, I’ve been observing you. Since the day you got here.”
You stiffen. Since when? How come you never spotted him? You made sure to look everywhere. There wasn’t even a suspicious ripple in the water as you walked. He cooes with a tempting smile, “Oh human, don’t think too hard, I’d find it more concerning if you were able to find me than not.” You nod slowly processing his tangled words. How impressive sirens were at hiding themselves.
“Does the human have a name I can call out?” His lips form an alluring smile. You murmur, “Tell me yours, and I’ll tell you mine.” He releases a breathless laugh before humming, “Taehyun. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, pretty human.” Taehyun’s eyes twinkle in excitement, “Now yours?” Inhaling deeply you murmur, “Y/n. It’s y/n.”
“Hm…y/n. Fascinating name indeed. Not from around here, definitely.” Your hands were itching to open your satchel and take your camera out. Though, you perhaps you were being too greedy. It was already a huge step you were taking with being face to face and talking with a siren. If he started singing; it’d be game over for you. You also knew of some grizzly tales of photographers being attacked - perhaps sirens weren’t as photogenic as they looked.
He wades even closer until he’s right in front of you where the water laps at your boots. The water is shallower here and you see glimpses of his dark blue shimmering tail. Taehyun notices your gaze and smirks coyly, “Oh? You like my tail?” He raises it more out of the water letting his scales glimmer and shimmer in all their glory. His strong, defined arms hold up his torso getting stained by the grains of sand.
Damn, how attractive he was. You suppose that was the point of their species after all. “Aw, how endearing you are. So concentrated and focused. I love the way you look at me with such amazement and awe,” Taehyun hums peering up at you.
He reaches out his hand and you flinch making him chuckle, “Surely, you’re not scared of me? I can’t even come far out of the water. I’ve never been so close to a human before.” Taehyun tilts his head running his dark gaze down your body making you shiver reflexively. He resumes, “Most of your kind seem to want to put us into nets or chambers. Or wish to aim little darts and such at us. How cruel…” He frowns but his tone of voice is dark, “And then we get all the blame when we have to get all violent. If they just left us alone, we wouldn’t need to defend ourselves so viciously.” His eyes meet yours intensely, “Don’t you agree, my sweet human?”
Clearing your throat, you carefully answer, “Well, yes. I do believe tactics like that are a bit-no, very barbaric. You are also civilised creatures after all.” Taehyun’s lips form a grin showcasing his sharp canines, “Oh my, not only are you a treat for the eyes, but you’re capable of thinking, more than the rest of your pitiful species.” He rests his chin atop his palm as he leans his elbow into the wet sand. Taehyun hums peering up at you, “See, we’re not all bad. We’re taking so nicely right now, aren’t we, y/n?”
You nod hesitantly as you still had to be wary. You didn’t want to leave this trip without nothing. You murmur, “I’m not sure if you’re keen on photos. But…may I sketch you, at least. If that’s alright? Y-You d-don’t have to-“ you begin stammering. His eyes glimmer and he chuckles, “Oh my precious human, don’t be so afraid of me. I like you a lot. I really like you…”
He hums deep in thought pondering your words, “Mm…I’ll grant your request, since you’re so lovely. In exchange, you’ll have to grant one of mine, hm?” There it is. Of course. Of fucking course! You murmur, “You know what- actually. I’m not that good of an artist-“
His gaze darkens and his expression stills making you halt your words. Taehyun moves up the shore almost crawling and you stumble off the boulder you were sat on, onto the sand. You scoot backwards feeling fearful. He pulls himself atop the boulder sitting on it showing off his illustrious tail and form. Your shoulders relax, “I- you-“ He grins mischievously, “I’m sorry, your fearful expression was too adorable for me to pass up. I just wanted to see your reaction, is all! You can sketch me.”
You shakily murmur, “O-Oh. Right.” He hums, “You know I wouldn’t hurt you right? You’re so lovely. Actually…why don’t you begin to draw now? We can spend more time chatting together.” You peer at the sun now almost disappearing into the horizon and the dim lamps along the beach being your only source of light.
He leans forward with an alluring tone of voice, “Human why so far? Come closer. Take a good look. This is not a privilege I extend to just anyone so lightly.” You awkwardly smile, “Ah, I can see just fine from here.” Taehyun cooes, “I don’t bite, pretty.”
You reluctantly scoot forward. You get out your notepad and a pencil as you begin to sketch. You weren’t about to leave this damn beach without anything. You begin sketching roughly. You’d redraw and label this later with more anatomical and scientific terms. For now this was as good as you were going to get.
The scraping of pencil against paper contrasts the roaring waves. Taehyun keeps his gaze firmly on you as he leans on the boulder keeping as still as he could. His lips form a teasing smirk as you nervously sketch him occasionally meeting his intense gaze. “Mm, talk to me won’t you? I like the sound of your voice. It’s ever so soft. Keep talking to me.”
“What’s there to talk about? I’ve already said everything I wanted to,” you enquire. Taehyun pouts, “Oh gorgeous, but I’d thought you’d have so many burning questions to ask me? Are you not curious?” ‘Curiosity killed the cat’, is what they all say. Although some say, the ‘answer brought it back.’
Were you willing to bite the bait, was the question?
“Perhaps another time, Taehyun.” You murmur continuing to sketch. He huffs, “Fine, then let me ask you question. Have you truly never seen another siren before? You were so determined these last two days. I enjoyed watching you miserably walk around in search of my kind.” You scoff, “No and I am glad my misery is so entertaining.”
Taehyun cooes with a smile, “Don’t frown, pretty human. I’m only teasing after all. The sky’s getting darker, it must be hard to see from that distance. How else are you going to get the intricate details?”
You nervously titter, “A-Ah, no worries. It’s mainly general outstanding features I’m worried about.” He hums, “well you could get a close up of my gills, markings?”
You bite your lip tempted; no one has properly seen these markings; you knew Taehyun’s siren species was rather rare. The typical plain skinned siren was well researched. Him…however…
“Come on…” he whines. His eyes glimmer, “You know you want to. I’m happy to be your muse, my dear human.” You quiver before slightly moving closer and you yelp as you feel his damp hand wrap around your ankle. His fingers soothe the skin as he caresses it with his fingers. The coolness of his touch sends shudders along your spine. A relaxed exhale releases from your parted lips.
“Mm…your skin is so smooth and soft. How curious indeed. It’s pleasant sensation to my senses,” he notes. He releases his grip but it makes you want more of his cool touch upon your warm skin. Taehyun smirks, “Oh?” You peer back down at your notepad. “Oh, did the human like my touch?”
“No, could you keep still, please?” You huff softly.
Taehyun peers down at you, “What an endearing little thing you are.” You glare softly at him making him chuckle, “Apologies, pretty. I might be sounding rather condescending-“ “Patronising,” you simultaneously say. He grins, “Well, you have my apology.” You mutter out an exasperated, “Thanks.”
As you continue to sketch you notice his gaze upon you- noticing all your intricate movements and motions. “Do you have anyone waiting for you back home, human?” Sighing you respond, “Yes, I do.” Taehyun hums sighing, “Oh what a shame…”
Raising a brow, you question, “A shame? Why?” He shrugs nonchalantly, “You humans value familial bonds so closely. It’s a weakness when it comes to survival. Staying altogether like that.” Your eyes narrow, “Well, lucky we don’t live out in the middle of nowhere with any apex predators.”
He hums amused, “Well, you humans do seem to like to think your kind is invincible. When you clearly aren’t. I’m not talking about you, sweet thing. You’re too lovely to be seen as prey.”
You grimace, “I appreciate your perspective.” His eyes sparkle as they narrow in on you, “Do you think of yourself as prey? Do you even have a weapon on you?” You stiffen, “I…” You had a hunting knife, pepper spray and those projectile batons that you almost knocked yourself unconscious with one time. “Yeah, I do. In my satchel. I’m not stupid.” You were beginning to feel internally question the validity of your statement.
Taehyun slyly smiles, “I never said you were, pretty thing. I’m glad you do in fact. You’ve always got to give a predator a bit of a chase after all.” You stop drawing and peer up at him; you notice him leaning forward putting his weight on his forearms. He leers at you with a sly smirk, “Hm? Oh? I don’t mean to frighten you. I simply don’t like to mince my words, is all.”
You were almost done. “Will you come visit this spot tomorrow? I’ll be waiting for you. I find you rather intriguing. I like you a lot, in fact.” He rambles more to himself as you try to hurriedly finish off the sketch. You were beginning to feel uneasy. You peer to your side seeing the ocean fog up and a mist forming on the far stretch of beach. Your heart palpitates in anxiousness.
You murmur, “Oh…today’s my last day. It was a three day expedition. I’ll be going home tomorrow morning.” Something about your words makes Taehyun stiffen and he tilts his head with wide eyes, “Your last day here? Oh but we’ve only begun to get to know each other!”
You nervously hum, “I’m sure I’ll be back soon on another expedition, Taehyun.” His eyes narrow and he sharply quips, “Don’t lie to me.”
You halt at the rasp in his tone. His tail splashes irritably in the surrounding water beside the boulder. “I wouldn’t have spent so much time being so cautious for the first few days, if I knew you were going to leave so quickly.” He whines, “Oh but why? The other human groups that come here stay for months!”
You awkwardly put your notepad away, “Ah, w-well those are properly organised expeditions with numerous scholars and sufficient funding, Taehyun. My trip was merely to satiate my curiosity and hopefully add some things to my thesis or general knowledge.” His jaw tightens and he peers at you with a dark gaze, “But you’re the first human I’ve ever properly conversed with. You’re so lovely to be around and talk to. Surely you wouldn’t leave me behind? What if other groups try to take me, hunt me down? I might not even be here next time!” Oh, how his playfully sly demeanour changed?
You awkwardly stammer, “I- Taehyun. I’m sure you can handle yourself. You’ve managed this far-“ He frowns, “You don’t understand, I’ve finally made a human friend and now you’re just going?” You didn’t expect sirens to get so attached. It’s ironic considering he was the one who mocked humankind for their reliance on close relationships.
You softly murmur, “I have a life beyond this Taehyun,” you chuckle anxiously, “I have to get back, to work and spend time with my family and friends.” He frowns, “I can’t do that, I can’t leave this ocean.” A pang of guilt arises within you. “I can’t stay with you here forever, Taehyun. I’m sure you understand that very well.” He looks at you with a shattered expression making you frown. He really did look pitiful. You didn’t expect this from him. You initially felt uneasy considering all the dangerous rumours you’ve heard of sirens.
His hands form fists and he scoffs, “You humans and your so called relationships.” You frown, “I’m sorry Taehyun.” Why were you even apologising? “If you were sorry, you’d not leave….leave me yet. Won’t you stay with me for one more day?” You go quiet. You couldn’t extend your time more than this. You’d be in for a whole lot of penalty paperwork and a lot of yelling.
Shaking your head you respond, “I…I can’t Taehyun.” You also didn’t want to risk it being out here. The aura of this place wasn’t exactly friendly. “I wish I could…really, I’ll try to come back another time when we’re allotted here.” You stand up slinging the strap of your satchel on your right shoulder. He lets out a, ‘tch,’ before sliding off the boulder and immersing his tail back into the water only allowing his torso to show.
His eyes glaze over almost as if he were genuinely upset at your answer. “It was lovely chatting with you, Taehyun. I sincerely thank you for letting me sketch you-“ “I’ll let you photograph me. You like that little camera of yours. I saw you take photos of the beach and sky. I’ll let you-“
You murmur firmly, “No, no. Taehyun really. It’s sweet that you are comfortable with me but I have to be going. It’s getting really dark.”
He says nothing as you give him a soft smile. “Please don’t be upset,” you mumble. Taehyun doesn’t respond continuing to look pitifully at you. He finally sighs, “Okay; fine. I…I understand, human. I’m sorry for being so demanding.”
Your heart twinges with guilt and you feel bad for leaving him behind. His expression cuts into your conscience like blades. “Bye…Taehyun,” you utter out gently.
“Goodbye…hum-y/n. Y/n,” he murmurs raising a hand with a deep frown. You feel your heart ache tremendously at his broken expression.
Reluctantly, you twist yourself away and begin to walk through the sludge of wet sand. Your body feels fatigued and solemn. This was indeed a rare memory to be cherish- your encounter with a real siren. A siren who was sweet under his playful facade. Who felt lonely and wanted to communicate. Poor thing…
You begin to take a step forward hearing your boot crunch into the sand.
“Hear my voice, underneath the sea. Sleeping now so peacefully. Sleep for all eternity…” A haunting voice echoes out behind you filling the void of the air. Your joints stiffen and your eyes widen in horror.
“Listen to this siren’s song, worry not for there’s nothing wrong…” His melodic voice reverberates across the shoreline and drives its way down your ears and you slam your hands over your ears tightly. No! No! No! You peer over your shoulder seeing him sitting where the water and sand meet. He peers at you with most malevolent expression you’ve ever seen. His sharp teeth and dark smirk make your knees weak.
A piercing scream rips itself out of your throat as you try to move yourself forward but a force makes your legs feel weak. No matter how you trek forward, it feels as though your legs weren’t cooperating with you. The melody of his tauntingly beautiful voice wraps around your body and senses like a terrible vice. The hands over your ears seem more for show than practicality. Hints of his song seem to seep between the gaps between your fingers.
A sob escapes your throat; you try to crawl forwards as your knees finally collapse. His mellifluous tone captures you like a poor fish in a net. “Struggle not, soon peace will come…” he hums with a dark smile as he drags his sharp nails through the sand.
You find it difficult to breathe as you try with all your might to resist his melody - his enchanting voice. “Succumb to me, pretty thing. Why resist me so brutally? I’m hurt,” he calls out with a pout momentarily halting his singing. You crawl forward desperately. He begins singing once more with a sadistically delightful expression, “Let my voice lead you astray..”
You collapse and you find your senses going haywire. Perhaps it was too late for you. “Trust me…come into my arms,” he cooes melodically. You find the world around you go blurry and you twist around facing him entirely. You shakily crawl towards him; your balance buckling here and there. Your mind screams for you to stop yet your body complies to his dangerously sinful voice.
“That’s right…very good,” he praises with a dark gleam in his eye. “Oh you do look so appealing when you crawl towards me like that. Like a subservient mutt, wishing to please its master.” You shiver; his spell taking ahold of you. “Let my voice guide you tonight…” he sings peering as you crawl towards him laced with utter desperation.
You needed him. You had be with him. All you wanted was him. Your beloved siren. Your eternal lover. The one you’d be safe with.
No-! No you couldn’t. Oh, but you would.
Entranced, you clamber nearing the boulder not caring how the water sways at your hands and knees wetting your attire. Taehyun grins outstretching his hand, “Come my sweet, sweet human, come to me…you’ll be safe with me.”
You struggle to take his hand. He tilts his hand with a snark in voice, “Oh? Still resisting. I didn’t take you as a fighter. I knew weren’t stupid, but you weren’t too bright either. Otherwise you wouldn’t be here in this position, hm?”
He continues humming keeping his hand outstretched. With that, you finally succumb. Your consciousness is slipping away and your free will is falling into Taehyun’s chains. You take his hand and he rapidly intertwines his fingers with yours. A dazed smile decorates your entranced expression.
A chuckle escapes his lips, “How cute,” he comments before giving one swift and harsh tug. You collapse forward and he immediately wraps his other arm around you snugly pressing your torso against his. It’s almost intimate. He drags his nose and lips along the curve of your neck; he inhales deeply getting a feel of your scent. “Oh you sweet thing, getting all caught up in my spell,” he cooes caressing your damp hair.
He strongly cups your jaw making you face him and he peers down at your visage with a teasing smirk, “How dazed you look, not a single thought in that pretty head of yours. I find it’s better that way. You humans tend to overthink a lot, hm. Don’t you agree?” All you can respond with is a slow nod and a blissful hum making him grin. “So soft, my own little human to keep. I doubt you’ll last long underwater. Though, I do know of a cove nearby,” he ponders in thought.
Taehyun slyly hums, “My dearest human, you were indeed foolish, though I suppose I had a part to play. You don’t understand how incredibly tiresome it was to play the lovestruck and lonely creature, eager for a humans affection. Seducing you wasn’t working, but apparently being pitiful was enough to make you lower your guard.” He notices how out of it you seem and hums, “Not that you’d care now anyways. All you now care about is being with me,” he sharply hums tightening his grip around you. His nails press into your skin; surely they’d draw blood soon.
“Are you fond of me, pretty human?” He cooes moving the strands of wet hair out of your face. You hum, “Mhm.” “Would you like to stay with me forever?” “Mhm,” you answer blissfully ignorant of your predicament. How tragic this was indeed. A young researcher curious about sirens only to be taken by the one thing she wished to investigate. How unbecoming for a scholar!
Suddenly, he moves back into the water with you in his arms before with one heave he drags you underwater. You cough and your body naturally flails and flaps around as air escapes your lungs. You hair wafts around you and silent screams escape your lips as Taehyun watches on with a cruel smile tainting his angelic features.
You cling to Taehyun after a while. He resurfaces with a sadistic smile on his face, “Oh, I was right, you humans are clearly not built for water. My bad, my dearest human. Simply had to have a little fun. Though, I’d rather not have you drown, so quickly.”
He chuckles at your dim response only clinging onto him for quite literally dear life. You begin to shiver from the cold ocean water. Taehyun cups the back of your head gently and lets you rest your head against his torso, “My sweet thing, be not afraid. I’ll never let any harm come to you.” You hum, “Mhm,” your heartbeat relaxes.
“Let us stay like this for a moment before we swim to the cove I was speaking of,” he hums nonchalantly, “I’m sure you’ll find it charming there. You’ll find anything charming as long as I’m there with you, won’t you?” He runs his thumb along your cheek down to your bottom lip tugging it down ever so slightly sending a pleasurable jolt through your senses. It was a seductive motion that had you craving for more- he knew it as well.
“Oh I could just devour you up,” he playfully growls into you neck. “Do try to last longer than the others, won’t you? I’m quite a bit more fond of you than anyone else I’ve come across. There’s just something about you…”
Taehyun hums into your neck that same addictive melody as he holds your shivering body against his. The scene is intimate but dark as the stars in the sky peer down at yet another tragedy that’s befallen the coastline.
All that now lies on the coast is a damp satchel containing a ruined sketch, and a no longer working camera. A trace of your tragic disappearance.
Taehyun squeezes you against him; the silhouette of you two mirroring two lovers in the moonlight; albeit more twisted. He whispers lowly as his eyes meet yours twinkling glossy ones, “A pretty thing indeed…and all mine.”
Oh, how foolish of you to think you could converse unscathed with a Siren…

"you lost".
y/n can hear the amusement in taehyun's voice when the words escape past his lips. he doesn't turn around and instead cranes his neck backward to look up at his boyfriend, who has a shit-eating grin on his face. "thanks genius".
"no problem" taehyun sarcastically replies, another smile on his face. y/n groans, getting out of the chair, he scrunches his nose. "you know i'm not good at shooting games" he mutters, and all he gets in response is taehyun patting his head.
"if i remember correctly, you said you were gonna, beat me?" y/n recalls the words he said twenty minutes prior, and he pouts at the way taehyun decided to use that against him. "yeah it doesn't look like your fulfilling that".
"that's not fair! it looked easy!"
"okay okay, let me try then" y/n scoffs, muttering under his breath as he crosses his arms. taehyun gives a small laugh, messing up y/n's hair. "if i beat you then you have to buy me food".
y/n gasps, crossing his arms. "that's not fair! your good at everything!"
taehyun leans his head back to stare at y/n, he blinks for a moment before sighing. "fine then, let's go play something, easy" he emphasizes the word easy, and quickly grabs y/n's arm to drag him away from the previous game.
"what are we gonna play now?"
"pacman preferably".
"what?"
y/n yelps as taehyun suddenly stops, tugging his arm in the tiniest. "pacman? really?" he asks, and taehyun furrows his eyebrows, lightly hitting y/n's arm.
"do you wanna try a claw machine then?" he asks, moving his hand that was grabbing y/n's arm down so now he was holding y/n's hand, he begins swinging them back and forth as he patiently waits for his partner's answer.
"something i can do at least" y/n mutters, and taehyun gives him a judgmental look, again surprising him by tugging his hand as he drags him around the arcade, trying to find claw machines.
"your gonna win me something!"
"do i have to?"
taehyun gives him a small smile, caressing his hand, and how could y/n ever say no to him? he manages to hide his laugh, he doesn't want to get yet another look from taehyun, he's already used to all the sassy eye rolls.
"have i ever told you that claw machines are like.. my thing?" y/n specifically uses a teasing tone, and taehyun rolls his eyes, lightly hitting his arm after hearing those words.
y/n just completely referenced a line he told taehyun one of the first times they met, and he remembers the way taehyun scowled, yet giggled at the way he delivered it. "i'm so smooth aren't i?" he asks, so sure of himself.
taehyun hits his arm once again, and y/n yelps, lightly jumping away from him. "okay okay! your so mean! why do you enjoy abusing me?"
"i have no idea what your talking about" taehyun smiles innocently, batting his eyelashes. he then presses his finger against the glass of the claw machine. "i want that".
y/n sighs, raising an eyebrow. "oh yeah you want the absolutely huge obvious cat plushie right there?" he inquires with such a sarcastic tone that taehyun almost considers hitting his shoulder once again.
"you said claw machines are your thing" he uses air quotes to convey his point. y/n opens his mouth but then closes it because he really has no ways to argue with that, taehyun loudly laughs as y/n huffs and crosses his arms.
"you're so.." he pauses mid sentence as he digs through his wallet. "bossy" he means it in a joking way, especially with how he brightly smiles, chuckling as he inserts a dollar into the claw machine.
"you should get me food for this".
"get me the kitty first".
"alright mom".
"don't be a loser now, y/n".
y/n scoffs, playfully rolling his eyes. he clicks the button and begins playing the claw machine, he hums as he plays it, narrowing his eyes as he focuses on the game, hoping to win the plushie for taehyun.
"ah hah! see?" y/n jumps up in excitement as he successfully wins the plushie, pulling it out and handing it to taehyun. "i am good at things!" he rebuts, crossing his arms as he hums happily.
taehyun grabs the plushie, squeezing it close to his chest as he watches y/n do a celebratory dance of sorts. he giggles, smiling at y/n's idiotic victory dance. "okay, i'll give you that one".
y/n finally stops with his dance, humming even more happily as he thinks about winning the claw machine. "we should go get cotton candy" he immediately suggests, and taehyun's eyes light up.
"ooh ooh! i call the blue flavor!"
"is blue even a cotton candy flavor?"
"um.. well! we can ask!"

Thighs spread out on the counter as your moans grow louder and your head bangs on the wall. “Fuck.. omg yes right there” you squeeze your eyes shut as he rams his hips into yours. “nghh oh baby” you scream out causing Taehyun to slap his hand over your mouth.
“You want Beomgyu and Soobin to hear what a slut you are?” he asks you, thrusting harder than before. You shake your head at him and whimper into his palm. “Are you close? Give it to me come on cum on my cock.”
“I’m cumming shit!” your orgasm hits you hard and Taehyun doesn’t cum too long after you.
How’d you even get into this situation? Well…
ding! the bell above the door chimes as you enter the ice cream shop. It’s cute the decorations are pastel and pink. Omg… maybe I should’ve come sooner you think while you wait in line.
Your friends have been recommending this place to you for a long time but not for the ice cream. It’s because of the person scooping the ice cream. They say that the guy who works here is ‘right up your alley’ whatever that means.
Now you would never go to an ice cream shop just for some guy that your friends think you’ll spend the rest of your life with. But you skipped girls' night and in exchange you must do a dare. Your friends quickly gave you the dare and now thinking about it they seemed happy that you missed girls' night.
So, here you are waiting to look at a guy who is- absolutely gorgeous what the fu-
“Hi! What can I get for you?” the guy with the pink hair enthusiastically speaks to you. His name tag says Taehyun… cute. “Oh, if you’re unsure we do samples too.”
“Hi, sorry what do you recommend?” you try not to stare at him, so you decide to play it safe and pretend you’re looking at the different varieties of ice cream.
“I really like Cherry.. it’s my favorite. So, I’d recommend that.” He tells you not taking his eyes off of you. “Okay! Sounds good I’ll have that.” you respond finally looking at his face again.
He nods before asking you “And would you like that in a cup or cone?” You grab your wallet to pay as you reply, “Cup please and thank you.” ‘It’s my pleasure’ he replies grabbing an ice cream scooper to scoop your ice cream.
You watch as he scoops the ice cream his hands are veiny and big. You wish that they were wrapped around your body. Oh, how you want him to run his fingers through your hair.
“And here you go I hope you enjoy it!” his bright smile returns as he holds the cup for you to grab it. “Thank you” your face heats up as you walk away to a table.
After some time, you decide to snap a pic of the dessert so your friends can see that you completed the dare. The group chat messages flood with questions asking if you think he’s cute. You laugh to yourself taking the last spoon of ice cream.
“Hey, did you like the ice cream?” You lift your head and see Taehyun eyeing you as you finish your last spoonful. He doesn’t take his eyes off of your mouth as his sits down across from you. “Mhm! It was really good thanks... for the recommendation.”
“Good I’m glad you liked it.. uhm well actually the shop’s closing but-” you cut him off “Oh my gosh I’m so sorry I’ll get going” you get up from the booth and bow. Terry grabs your wrist before you can walk away, and he gets up from where he was sitting.
“Actually I was going to say you could stay. While I close up I mean if you want and we could get to know more about each other. I’d like to know more about you..” He finishes his sentence slightly biting his lip.
Yes please. Oh my- I’d love to know much more about him. “Yeah.. Yeah I think I’d like to know more about you too.” you smile at him.

just admit you hate me ☾.*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⊹ pairing: kang taehyun x f! reader
⊹ genre: enemies (?) to possible (?) lovers
⊹ warnings: kind of an asshole taehyun and like two swear words total
⊹ wc: 2.1k
summary: five years after graduating high school, you had officially reached the lowest point of your life. after having been let go from your perfectly stable job, it was as if every business in all of seoul had a personal agenda against hiring you. at this point, you were desperate to accept any job that would have you ... even if it meant losing that last ounce of self-respect you had left in your body.
if you were introduced to the opportunity of traveling back in time for the sole purpose of wringing your past self by the neck ... you would take that chance in a heartbeat.
your leg was mindlessly bobbing up and down as you sat anxiously in your seat, and you were quite sure that every crevice of your body was producing sweat by this point.
it had been hours since you first arrived, and, with every name that was called into the foreboding office, the closer you came to throwing up in the suspense of hearing your own.
as yet another woman had her name called out to enter the room, you were officially left as the last remaining applicant.
being left to wallow all alone in your thoughts, you could only begin to imagine that your life would have turned out far differently had you just listened and prioritized your education over a career.
who in their right mind thought 18-year-olds were capable of making such life-altering decisions?!
now here you were, years later and at the end of your rope, awaiting your turn among the many other applicants - that were surely higher qualified than you - applying for the same assistant position.
ever since you were let go from your last job, it had been an absolute nightmare for you to merely attempt finding another. for the same exact reason that you had been laid off, companies were suddenly more determined to find and hire employees with far more experience and education than a young girl with only a high school diploma to her name.
despite the years of experience working as a dutiful employee at your last company, you had been rejected at approximately twenty interviews you applied for. of course, those were just the ones you heard back from; there was about ten other positions that completely denied you from your resume alone.
you were beginning to lose all hope that you'd be able to find another job before you turned thirty.
chaewon, your best friend and roommate, encouraged you time and time again that "something big" was coming for you and that you should "keep your head up", but you could only hold on to such words for so long. eventually, even your optimistic best friend was going to have to face the same reality as you ...
your life has reached a dead-end.
the sound of the door opening once more had your head instinctively snapping towards it in attention. this was it .. it was officially going to be your turn.
distracting your mind for a brief moment, you couldn't help but notice the deep blush that covered the cheeks of the woman who entered before you. in fact, thinking about it now, you realized that a lot of the women had left with the same red color on their face.
when you first researched the company to apply, you had read that the ceo was rather young in age. in which case, based on the reactions of every woman that had left the office, you were now all the more intimidated.
"l/n, y/n?"
thank God your stomach was stronger than the rest of you, or else the sound of your name would have truly induced vomit.
you stood up quickly, though your legs felt entirely like jell-o and made it difficult to walk straight without shaking. you only prayed that the woman waiting for you didn't notice for herself.
today, you were interviewing at the relatively new k company for the position of assistant to the ceo.
it was a much bigger leap compared to your last job, but, at the rate you were going, you would apply to absolutely anything just for a source of income.
"mr. kang will see you now," the woman's stern voice spoke through your thoughts, her words awakening a strange feeling in the pit of your stomach.
kang?
the familiarity of the name suddenly had you reminiscing the old days of your high school years. you could vividly picture the image of your senior class president, the one you held an intense disliking for.
regardless of having been in the same class for the entire four years you attended high school together, it was as if he refused to acknowledge your existence at all.
not that you deliberately went out of your way in attempts to be friends with the boy, you truly couldn't care less, but you certainly remembered every time he had pushed past you in the hallways without a single apology, deliberately ignored you during student council discussions, and most especially that cold stare he always gave you any time your eyes met.
the same one that he was giving you now, in fact.
your entire body tensed as you felt your heart leap into your throat, unable to fully process the situation at hand.
you had just entered the office ... of the kang taehyun, who you strongly disliked .... interviewing to be his assistant ...
as surprised as you wanted to pretend to be, you honestly couldn't bring yourself to even feign it.
of course taehyun was the ceo at the very company you were desperately applying to be an assistant for. that was just the point your dead-end life had reached.
life was truly cruel, wasn't it? seemingly against you at any opportunity it could find..
"are you planning to stand there the whole time?"
you blinked back to reality, having forgotten entirely that this was still an interview process that you needed to be professional for - regardless of who was sat in the chair across from you.
"repeat your name for me." he told you firmly after you had taken your seat, completely emotionless as he flipped over your one-page resume on his desk.
swallowing the nervous lump in your throat, you repeated your name. you wondered if he held any recognition for you the way you had for him.
if he did, he certainly failed to show it.
"and you graduated from [name of high school here]?"
there was that lump in your throat again. you felt your shoulders instinctively slouch, having hoped your level of education wouldn't have become a point of discussion — especially where you were educated.
you could only mentally prepare yourself for any incoming ridicule he may give you upon realizing the circumstance for himself.
"yes," you answered simply, your eyes downcast to his desk to avoid whatever look he may send you - whether it be one of pity or amusement.
because why wouldn't he?
the two of you graduated the same year, yet here you were in extremely opposite stages of life. where taehyun has already reached the top of his, you were still desperately clinging for life at the very bottom of yours.
his eyes flickered to you momentarily, but he made no comment.
"any extracurricular activities?"
the room was growing warmer by the second. these questions were already answered on your resume - which he hadn't looked away from this entire time - so you couldn't understand why he was asking them again.
a part of you wondered if it was his own way to subtly remind you of who he was.
not that you could possibly forget the face of the one who treated you worse than the dirt under his shoes.
"i was treasurer of the student council in my senior year," you answered, your gaze shifting down to the floor in preparation of his next words.
he was bound to mention something now.
"reason for leaving last job?"
. . .
your eyes shifted upward, looking to see taehyun's rather bored expression still staring down at your resume. it was as if he were a frozen image - the only sign that he moved at all being the slow blinking of his eyes.
... that bastard.
he didn't recognize you at all, did he?!
you could have scoffed aloud at the realization, unable to believe that he had absolutely no recollection of you whatsoever.
not that you believed you had any profound effect on his life in any way, but you only assumed that someone would at least vaguely remember the person they had treated terribly for four years of their life.
in which case, you were in more surprise that he even acknowledged you as a person at all now. for all you knew, you could have been entirely invisible in his eyes.
"are you going to sit there and ignore the question?"
your eyes widened as you cleared your throat awkwardly. "no, sorry. i was ... just thinking." what an awful excuse. "well, um, they believed that i did not hold enough education or experience to renew my contract at their company."
taehyun nodded his head, though his features remained cold and emotionless, causing a twisting feeling to stir in the pit of your stomach. his stare was blank and uncaring as they met yours for the first time, but, nonetheless, he continued with his questions.
ultimately, as the interview reached its end, you came to the understanding that this was a complete waste of your time. he held not one sliver of interest in anything you had to say, and you certainly did not want to be stuck working for him anyway.
all you had done was allow the one person you disliked most in the world to see how miserable your life had turned out. hell, he had the pathetic resume of your life to prove it to him in writing.
then again, it wasn't as if he remotely cared.
"alright then. do you have any questions for me?"
millions.
do you seriously not remember me?
do you hate me?
am i even a person to you?!
"no i do not." you truly just wanted to escape that cursed office as soon as you possibly could. it was beginning to feel more and more confined with each painful second that passed.
taehyun stood from his desk, officially declaring the interview over, and silently gesturing for you to follow his lead.
with a forced smile and a small bow, you silently bid your goodbye and mentally prayed that you would never have to come back to that building ever again for as long as you lived.
you couldn't even remotely understand what had those previous women blushing so much when kang taehyun was nothing but an emotionless asshole.
perhaps, even after all these years, there was just something about you that had him compelled to disregard you and treat you so awfully.
"i do have one more question," he spoke up, pulling you from your thought and forcing you to freeze in your tracks before you could turn around and finally leave.
the office door seemed so far away now...
"how soon can you start?"
your eyes widened and that sick feeling in your stomach returned. somehow, these words made you feel worse than when that woman had called your name in the first place. "e-excuse me?"
"i asked how soon you can start," he repeated, still appearing just as bored as he has been from the very beginning.
despite him having not shown even the slightest bit of interest, asking you the most mundane questions he could possibly think of, and causing you to feel uncomfortable the entire time ... did you seriously get the job?!
regardless, you would never subject yourself to accepting the position.
forcing yourself to work for the one you despised most, who didn't even remember who the hell you were ?! absolutely fucking not.
"i can start tomorrow."
God, you were pathetic.
you couldn't believe you were even standing with how you lacked a spine.
but could you blame yourself?! you practically dried up your savings account up to this point and clearly no one else had any intention of hiring you!
desperate times .... call for desperate measures.
he nodded simply, still without a single muscle movement in his face indicating any sign of emotion. "i will email you with the schedule later this evening."
with a forced smile, feeling like you practically sold yourself for a paycheck, you gave a halfhearted bow and prepared to leave in as normal of a pace you could manage - so as not to be so obvious with how you were dying to go home and wallow in despair for the remainder of the evening.
"oh, and by the way," his voice called out to you once you reached the doorway.
it was like he knew how desperately you wanted to leave and was doing anything in his power to torture you.
you turned around, forcing yourself to look your new boss in the eyes - allowing you to see the first facial expression on those perfectly sculpted features of his.
he was smirking. he was fucking smirking.
"it was good to see you again, y/n."

HI, SO I'M NOT DEAD !! i just had a very busy life with so much happening. buuuuut i do have a lot of unfinished drafts for each member that i worked on every time i had a moment of inspiration. i was originally working on a hyuka one, but then ... after the concert .... taehyun just came out of nowhere and started bias wrecking so hard. and then my mind ran wild and i decided to write this. it's not very well written whatsoever, but i needed to practice so i can get back to writing more often. i also left this open for continuation if anyone is remotely interested in seeing this progress - don't be afraid to let me know :,)
and for anyone wondering about you don't go to parties, I DID NOT ABANDON IT !!! i still have full intention of continuing, but i MIGHT take a little while to get back into it because i had too many ideas going in all different directions that i was unsure how to continue with where i left off.

Star Crossed Lovers Rivals ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥✧˚ · .
[Rival!Taehyun x Fem!Reader]
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rival!Taehyun x fem!reader
Genre(s): Romance, enemies to lovers, fluff, hints of angst! (Also particularly academic rivals to lovers bc it is phenomenal to read), post-college au.
Contains: Swearing/Profanity, mild mentions of explicit behaviour (more so tension lmao). (Wow! I’m not writing angst for once!)
Summary: “Oh just a B? What happened? I thought you were on top of your game? Don’t tell me, you didn’t study?” Your world comes crashing down in shambles as you furiously glare daggers into the raven haired boy in front of you as he condescendingly smiles with his gleaming A+ paper in hand. He was so infuriating; you wanted to punch his handsome face so bad.
Wait, handsome? God no, you’d rather be caught dead than ever think he was...wait what were you so pressed about again?
Shit.
His lips form an arrogant smile, “Cat got your tongue?” Your gaze darkens, “You’re so dead the moment the bell rings.” He brushes past you as he chuckles, “See you after class, sore loser.”
Surely his heart must be racing just as much as yours does right? Right?
How could you two ever fall for each other?
—————————••••••••••••••—————————
You miserably scan through your résumé. This had to be your third interview this week. A list of exquisite grades lines your sheet with your very accomplished credentials alongside the many efforts you put into extracurriculars when you attended college.
Even the work experience you gathered during that time whilst balancing exams, holy fuck! What more could they possibly want from you? For what preposterous reason could you not get a job. You tried to craft the most perfect résumé and it still wasn’t enough. You knew the labour market was competitive but not this competitive.
Frustration builds up inside you, like a shaken bottle of champagne you knew you were on the brink of exploding. Your crumbling student debt was one issue but the main issue was you had to pay rent very soon and your own savings were surely not going to hold up if you didn’t get a better paying job soon. At the moment you worked in retail (which in summary is terrifying dealing with a plethora of customers- mostly bad).
You let out a pitiful laugh peering back at your résumé. What was the point of working so hard back then? A year and a half ago, you were on the brink of exhaustion trying to reach number one all for a bunch of stupid grades. You competed so hard. Competed with...him.
You wonder how he’s doing now? You’ve not spoken to him since you left college with a degree in business psychology. He’s probably doing way better than you were. That snobby little arrogant-
You catch yourself smiling instinctually. Fuck. Your heart feels warm as though a woollen blanket encompasses it. You often realise how much of your college life you spent with him. Not that you’d ever admit it to anyone, you actually missed your senseless and petty bickering. You missed his cocky grin and you missed his glare when you beat him in an exam.
You let out a sigh; well that time of your life is over. You maybe do regret not using college as an outlet to enjoy yourself and not constantly trying to compete and work hard. You wished you could have gotten to know your so called rival behind his vast array of A+ grades.
Perhaps you wish he could have gotten to know you too behind your academic achievements.
“Miss Y/n. You may enter for the interview.”
You perk up in your seat shakily clasping at your file. “Ah, yes thank you.” Well, here goes. You tightly grip at your file. You were sure, if you didn’t make it through this interview. You’d keep trying again and again.
You were no quitter.
—-
Your hands tremble as your eyes scan the email. At first when the notification popped up your heart plummeted. You just knew that it was going to be bad news. You tried procrastinating in an attempt to not read it however curiosity got the better of you. Perhaps a tiny fraction of you had an ounce of hope that you’d maybe gotten the job.
You click the email open and begin scanning through the array of typed words:
[Congratulations! We are delighted to inform you of your acceptance at our company. We’ll be glad to see you on our amazing team!]
No way! You blink astounded. You got the job! You’ve finally got a decently paying job! Something you could work with and in a few years time maybe even think about getting promoted to a managerial position. You scan the rest of the email’s details feeling all sorts of jittery excitement.
You’d be starting next Monday. You couldn’t believe it, maybe you had a stroke of luck after all. You started preparing yourself for your new job filled to the brim with gratitude and thrill.
Soon enough the very Monday you had anticipated arrived. Though you weren’t quite as excited as before; now your mind more filled with anxiety and fear at how your first day would go instead. What could possibly go wrong? It’s the marketing department, there’s nothing to be afraid of right?
Your eyes glance up hearing footsteps coming down the sleek modern hallway. You wipe your clammy hands and attempt to look somewhat confident. You had been told one of the employees would be tasked with guiding you around and showing you the general gist of your duties as an employee here. You definitely had to make a strong first impression!
Your gaze meets the tall, ebony-haired figure only for your heart to almost come up to your throat. No fucking way? That surely isn’t who you think it is?
“Holy shit,” the figure comes to a pause a few metres in front of you.
You find yourself standing up; your knees almost buckle. Fate was indeed fucking around with you like a ball of yarn between a kitten’s paws.
The male’s lips curl into the same disgustingly attractive smirk you’d seen thousands of times. “Well, I heard the new employee was over qualified. I didn’t think I’d see you here though. I knew they exaggerated a bit.”
You grit your teeth in annoyance. There it was the ever so condescending tone of voice accompanied with that signature head tilt to the right. You smile overly sweetly, “When I heard someone was going to guide me, I thought it would be with someone more experience.”
He scoffs, “What happened? Didn’t you say you were gonna work for some big company? Become the executive manager.” He’s taunting you.
You lean forward, file in hand with a condescending smirk of your own, “What about you Kang Taehyun? Didn’t you say you were going to become a marketing executive at THE biggest company in the country? This company is big but not the biggest.”
Taehyun’s gaze darkens and his jaw tightens. “Piss off.” You hum delighted, “See not so funny when the tables turn is it?”
He rolls his eyes. “Whatever. Can’t believe I have to babysit you for two days.” You mutter, “Believe me I’m just as enthusiastic as you are.” A snort escapes his lips. “Yeah, yeah, follow me then.”
He begins the tour of the office. Numerous curious eyes are set on you both as the burden of ‘newest addition to the department’ now dwells on your shoulders.
Your eyes absorb what he’s wearing. A sleek white shirt with a loosened blue tie. His sleeves rolled up to his elbows showcasing his strong arms. It appears he still hasn’t stopped working out since college. How unfortunate for you.
Your cheeks begin to warm. You hated to admit it but since college he’d definitely changed. He’d unfortunately gotten more attractive than he already was. He must be fighting off dates left, right and center. Not that you’d relate. You’d only dated one guy in college (you shudder) you agreed to never think about that memory again. Big yikes.
His dark hair sleekly hung in strands over his forehead with his sharp eyes peering through. Taehyun always had somewhat of an intimidating expression; whether it was unintentional or not you didn’t know. You wondered if through your years together if you ever genuinely saw him smile…
“I’d like you to repeat what I just said.” He sharply shatters your internal conversation. You splutter awkwardly. Well fuck. “Uh…”
Taehyun deadpans at you, “Yeah, fuckin’ thought so. How did you graduate again?”
You sneer. “Oh? You’re asking me that? 2nd rank?”
By the end of your degree after endlessly fighting, when the finals rankings of grades came out he turned out to be second place in your batch whilst you were thrillingly first (by a four point difference but that’s not important).
He sneers, “Mind your tone, newbie.” You snort, “So cringe.” Taehyun mutters, “I was beginning to forget how fucking insufferable you were back then.” You cooe all doe-eyed, “Aw, what a shame. Glad I arrived just in time to refresh your memory.”
He grates his teeth and runs his fingers through his locks. His lips twitch slightly before he spins back around, “Anyway, I’ll teach you how to use the printer and scanner and then I’ll take you to your desk.”
You found yourself smiling. It was odd, all he was doing was insulting you and making sarcastic remarks (you doing the same back,) however it made you feel giddy. It reminded you of the same rivalry you had back then. That rivalry was what gave you motivation to work as hard as you did.
“So that’s about it. If you have any other doubts-“
You interrupt, “Yeah, ask you. Got it.” He scoffs, “No, I was gonna say don’t ask me. Annoy someone else. Or suffer.” You pout, “God, you’re even sweeter than I remember.”
He rolls his eyes and is about to walk back over before you murmur, “Wait.” He raises a brow, “Hm?”
“Uh, actually nothing.” You find yourself slouching into your seat. He gives you an exasperated stare before walking off. A heavy feeling sinks into your heart; he didn’t truly hate you right? What if your attitude was making it worse?
Maybe you should stop retaliating for a bit. You’re coworkers now, not in college. You had to remain professional. Yeah… that’s it.
Another day passes by uneventfully with you asking other people for help pitifully whenever the printer got jammed. It’s not your fault the printer is so shit. (It was an expensive one and it was clearly your fault.)
You groan, “Every fucking time.” Your newest dilemma was trying to adjust to the company software and trying to correctly input in the numbers and formulas in Excel. You were damn good in fact, except for today.
Your numbers didn’t seem to be creating the correct chart. You had gone wrong somewhere with the inputting but no matter how ever many times you tried editing and reading through it, you couldn’t see the problem.
You hear a snicker behind you and you spin your chair around to see the infamous man you wished to avoid. You groan. “Not happy to see me?,” He pouts.
You wave your hand nonchalantly, “Leave me alone. I don’t need your condescending tone behind me.”
Taehyun murmurs with a cocky smile, “Yeah but those charts look shit.” You glare at him, “Yeah, I’m aware.”
He places a hand on the back of your chair as he steps closer. The scent of his cologne climbs up your nostrils overwhelmingly. Shit, he smelled good. Hints of warm wood, bergamot and mint maybe. Whatever concoction it was, it made you almost feel dizzy.
“What’s the issue? Chart formatting or inputting? Let’s check the formulas you’ve put in.”
You huff, “I don’t need your help.” He arches a brow, “Oh really? It’s not like you’ve been sitting for twenty minutes staring at the screen with a look of despair or anything.”
“You-!” You bark. He leans over placing his hand on the mouse almost scaring the shit out of you when his hand brushes against yours. You place your hands on your lap awkwardly. Taehyun was insanely close; leant over your right side using the back of your chair as a support.
You didn’t need help…right? His brows furrow intensely as his maroon irises scan and dart across the screen with incredible speed. He appears to murmur to himself. The intense look of concentration seemed to make your heart palpitate. His cologne enveloped you like a blanket.
“Mm, I think the problem is here. See this, we’ll replace it with another formula, I think it’s easier with this one. Can I shift some of this?” You find yourself nodding along with whatever he says paying attention to him working. He’s clearly gone through the exact same problem as you.
Soon enough the charts start looking much, much better. The way you wanted them to appear. You find yourself feeling defeated. He’s probably thinking of how stupid you are. You peer down at your lap at you mumble out, “Thank you.”
He doesn’t move from beside you and you hear him pleasantly hum, “Couldn’t hear you? Mind saying it again?” You scoff to yourself. What a nuisance! “Thanks, Tae…hyun…” You find yourself stuttering as your peer up to angrily say thanks. You forgot how close his face was to yours.
Taehyun stumbles back up to standing. The more seconds pass and you realise his cheeks are blossoming into hue of red. He clears his throat, “Anyway, good. Be grateful.” You roll your eyes, “Oh my saviour.”
He smirks, “Don’t beat yourself up over this by the way. I know what you’re like. I made the same mistake on my first week here. Obviously not ever again. But yeah, another coworker helped me.”
Was this his way of trying to cheer you up? He knew what you felt? Of course he did. He wanted academic validation and was just as much of a perfectionist as you were. He even saw you at your most vulnerable. It was as though you were two sides of the same sheet of paper.
You find yourself smiling a little too hard. He appears to be staring at you too.
There’s a silence between you two. You expected him to leave. He looked like he wanted to say something but couldn’t let the words leave his lips.
So you do something that you’d never thought you’d do. “Hey Taehyun…do you wanna grab coffee together?”
His eyes that you usually saw as very sharp and murky, for the first time glistened in intrigue. His lips curl into a mischievous smile, “I suppose you do owe me. I can put the coffee on your tab.”
You groan as you stand up after saving your work. “I never said that.” He hums, “You implied it.”
“I didn’t imply shit.”
With that, you find yourself walking beside Taehyun to the company café. He orders a Caramel Macchiato accompanied with a freshly baked flaky croissant (all unfortunately on your tab).
“This reminds me of the time I bought you lunch after you were sobbing because you got your first C grade.” Taehyun grins taking a massive bite out of his croissant. You both sit down and you snap, “Fuck you. First and last C grade by the way. You know how hard I studied for that test! The teacher didn’t like me, I swear!”
He murmurs with a smirk, “Sounds like an excuse to me. I still remember you sniffling and your puffed up cheeks. I think that was the first time I saw you cry, actually.” You whine, “You’re so mean, you know that?” He snorts, “Oh? So you’re not?”
You knew passing was all your parents asked for. It was a hard exam, so getting a C was amazing. You were grateful but…you felt for your own personal standards, it wasn’t good enough. You know better now, of course. You put a lot of pressure on yourself back then. You knew Taehyun did too. How did he handle it?
“You know, it was stupid how hard we competed against each other back then. It was fun, but stupid. We both had huge sky high aspirations but here we are working at a regular company.” Taehyun murmurs swirling his coffee.
You softly murmur, “It’s okay.” He inhales deeply, “Yeah, it’s okay.” He hums putting back on his blunt facade, “Anyway, at least I wasn’t the only one brought down. Here you are.” Taehyun grins, “Think about it, that C grade you got made no difference?”
You glare, “Very funny.” Your mind flickers back to the memory.
“Here.”
You attempt to hurriedly wipe your tear-stained face. You didn’t want him of all people seeing you this pathetic.
“No use in trying to hide that you’re crying.” He sits beside you on the the grass under the tree. “If you’re here to rub it in, kindly piss off,” you sniffle out. “On a normal day, maybe. But…hey. Look at me.” You shake your head. “Oh come on, y/n.”
“You’re not a failure. This is not the end of the world, y/n. You did well okay. Even I didn’t get an A. Our lecturer didn’t teach shit. It’s not our fault.” He huffs out. “Everyone got hit hard.”
His voice cracks slightly, “I get it. I get what your feeling.” You peer up at him with glossy eyes. He holds a sadness in his eyes. At that moment you knew he was also experiencing the same pain as you. It maybe insignificant or stupid to others but to him, he knew.
“As I said, here.” He holds out a paper bag. The smell of food wafts from it making your stomach rumble. Oh yeah, you hadn’t eaten lunch. You peer inside, there was a burger, fries and an ice cream cup. He ordered you food.
“You didn’t have to-“ you splutter. “Too bad, I noticed you didn’t leave the campus to get lunch today like usual. A-Anyway, don’t get used to this treatment.” Taehyun mutters. He brings out his own bag with his own order. He gets himself comfortable beside you as he starts taking his food out of the takeaway bag. “Well what are you waiting for? Go on, eat.”
Your heart races. He was eating with you. Your academic rival, your so called enemy was eating lunch with you. lunch that he bought. Taehyun chews as he says, “Just you wait, I’ll beat your ass next week though. We have a seminar in Mrs Webbs’ class that we’re getting graded for.”
“Yeah keep talking out of your ass. My Powerpoints and presentation skills far supersede yours.” He snarks, “You talk big for someone who still types on Microsoft Word 2010 version.”
“Shut the fuck up, my dad will upgrade my laptop soon I swear.”
You’re brought out of your reverie with Taehyun accidentally slamming his knee against the metal table support. You murmur, “Deserved.”
He yelps, “For what!? I did fucking nothing!” You smirk to yourself, “Yeah I know. Still deserved.” “You act like you’re a twelve year old commenting on Tiktok.” He scoffs rubbing his knee.
“We should do this more often.” You find yourself murmuring. “What slandering each other? Wasn’t college enough for you?” He smirks playfully.
“I mean you can’t tell me you don’t enjoy our bickering?” You mumble sipping your own drink. He leans his head back exaggeratedly as if deep in thought. “Well…I suppose I happen to enjoy it ever so slightly.” You don’t know why but your heart happens to jump around in your chest at the admittance.
“See!” You call out. He rolls his eyes biting his croissant again. “Maybe you’re just a masochist,” he replies with a snark. You gawk at him, “Well you’re the one being mean ninety percent of the time, so maybe you’re a sadist.”
The table goes silent with other members of the nearby tables giving you both awkward stares.
“This out of context sounds really bad you know.” Taehyun clears his throat appearing to find the ground more interesting all of a sudden.
Your cheeks heat up and you scoff, “You and these people around us are just dirty minded.” His eyes narrow and be coyly smiles, “I wasn’t the one who insinuated that they liked being bickered at and insulted. You were. Like being degr-“
You sharply stand up with your half bitten pastry in hand, “Well, seeing that you are being immature, Taehyun. I’m going to have to cut this coffee break short.” He promptly follows behind you. You hear a sound that you’d thought you’d never hear.
It was odd. You’ve never imagined what it was like to hear him genuinely laugh. Yet here you were. You turn around; your arm clasping the strap of your bag. His eyes glimmer as they widen. The sound of laughter that escapes him is so…it’s definitely unique. You liked it. His wide smile as he rushes after you cackling at your embarrassment.
Taehyun’s dark hair bounces as he jogs to catch up to where you stand. “Oh come now, you didn’t have to leave me like that, I wasn’t serious.” You mutter, “Yeah, yeah.”
He looks beautiful when he genuinely smiles. You clear your throat flustered as he catches you staring at him and you start walking off again. “Ugh, wait!”
So it carried on like this, your occasional talks from across your desks became daily bickering. Even both your fellow colleagues were amused by the bickering and other witty comebacks that you both hit each other with. Your once in awhile coffee breaks became eating lunch together everyday.
Of course neither of you would admit that you in fact enjoyed each other’s company a little too much.
“You know he definitely likes you.” You roll your eyes at your colleague Momo. You didn’t want to build up unnecessary hope. He probably thought of you as a friend, a friendly rival that he liked to be witty with. So you shouldn’t raise your expectations either.
You two were rivals to the bittersweet end.
“How can you both be so fucking stupidly smart? Are all nerds like this?” You deadpan at her. “What I meant was, your feelings are very obvious towards each other.”
“Don’t you think it was fate to meet him again?” She was a hopeless romantic; something that you were not. She gushes, “I can see the way he peers at you over the top of his monitor. Whenever he passed by your desk the smile on his lips…ah!”
You freeze, “Be for real right now.” She smiles teasingly, “Why don’t you test out my findings yourself?” You glare, “Must be nice to spectate from the side huh?” She shrugs innocently, “What can I say? You’re the main character here, not me.” You release a drained sigh.
Feelings from the past were mixing into a worrying concoction of hope and romance. Did he truly see you that way? Or were you setting yourself up for failure?
So just like Momo said, you sat yourself at your desk and began to work, typing away. You feel your heart pound in your chest. Your eyes briefly move up across the desk divider and you almost feel the world slowing down to a halt. Just like she said, there he was peering over his computer monitor like a cat peeking over a kitchen counter with its paws.
His immediately peers down at his desk clearly embarrassed he got caught. You can’t help but breathlessly laugh. Your heart flutters uncontrollably. That was the cutest thing you’d seen from him. It wouldn’t hurt to tease him a little right?
Maybe he’d tell you his reason if you just gave him a little playful nudge.
You find him near the filing cabinets a bit later and decide to approach him with a mischievous smile lining your lips. “Hey.” He peers up folder in hand, “Oh hey.”
“Just here to grab some files, the manager asked for February’s reports,” Taehyun hums. He notes your teasing expression and he tilts his head, “What’s got you so high and mighty?”
“The fact I caught you staring at me two to three times over your monitor.” You dramatically sigh, “It’s truly a burden to be so stunning. Even you my mortal enemy, can’t resist.”
“Now what makes you think I’d look at my public enemy number one with heart eyes?” He scoffs closing the file. You hum, “Oh? So, I’m your number one?”
“You have very selective hearing. Might want to get that checked.” He snorts. “You have tunnel vision, because you only seem to be looking at me,” you huff.
His gaze shifts and he tosses the file to side on one of the emptier shelves. Taehyun begins to walk forward speedily catching you off guard. You find yourself stumbling back into another one of the metallic cabinets with an awful bang. Thank goodness it was just you two in here.
You let out a squeak as he suddenly leans over you blocking your attempt to escape. His gaze swirls in a mix of emotions but yet that cocky smile is triumphant on his face as always.
“You know since college, I have to give it to you. I never seen someone with such sharp wit. It’s actually very annoying.” He hums. You’re more preoccupied that he’s got you trapped between him and cabinet.
“Worried someone is gonna walk in? Oh, if they do. You’re gonna have to explain this one. Not me.” He hums. His eyes scan every crevice of your face making you shiver. “You’re the one who got us in this predicament. Now if you would just kindly move your arm-!”
He leans in even closer. You might faint you think. His cologne overwhelms your senses and you hate how attractive he is this close up. “You damn well could have just walked around me; I only have one arm up. Yet you’re choosing to stay.”
Shit, he got you good. You peer away, “Whatever Taehyun.”
“Just admit you like me.” He shamelessly hums into your ear. You scoff, “you first.”
“Oh come on, you were making heart eyes from the first day.” He cooes. You snap back, “No, I was not!”
(Yes, you in fact were.)
“We’re getting nowhere.” He huffs. You glare, “Just say it.” You peer down noticing how close his lips are. He does the same mannerism.
“I have an idea, if that’s okay with you.” He whispers leaning in. You close your eyes, “Yeah. That’s okay.” No more words were exchanged except for a sweet kiss, a passionate wordless exchange of how you and him felt.
After all, you two were too stubborn to be the first to admit it. So what better way then to showcase it than this?
You both walk out of the cabinet files in hand flushed. “So.” You mumble.
“So…” He responds back. “Are we like…? You know? Or was it just an in the moment kind of thing? Because that’s not what I’m looking for.” You spill out all at once.
Taehyun stops walking and starts laughing making you whine, “Oh don’t be like that. Answer the question! It’s vital information!”
“Well my precious rival, it was not an in the moment thing. I was hoping you could in fact be my one and only rival.”
You smile at him, “Rival? Only yours?” He nods, “Only mine.“
“You do know I’m asking you out hypothetically, yes?” He raises a brow. You smack his arm, “Yeah, I’m hypothetically saying yes. Yes. We got that. Are we both clear?”
Taehyun hums pleased, “Then. Then yeah, be prepared. You’re gonna get a date so phenomenal you’ll never find a better man.”
You roll your eyes, “How romantic of you. You sound like a loser.” He scoffs, “That’s not how you should be talking to someone who’s gonna take you out on a date.”
You groan trying to contain your smile, walking beside him, “You’re insufferable.”
He hums with a pretty smile, “I know. You are too.”

Y/N’s fascination with drummers reached new heights with Tomorrow X Together, her favorite rock band. Taehyun, the drummer, captivated her with his effortless mastery of the drumsticks. Each skillful twirl and spin, culminating in a precise catch, seemed like a performance tailored just for her. The rhythms he produced were more than just music; they were a sensory experience, stirring something deep within her. Y/N often wondered if his intense expressions and dynamic beats were a deliberate attempt to draw her in. She was under no illusion that he knew of her existence amidst the throngs of adoring fans, assuming his antics were aimed at the myriad of girls vying for his attention.
Contrary to her beliefs, Taehyun had noticed Y/N since the band’s debut gig. Her presence in the crowd was unmistakable, often donned in eye-catching outfits that ranged from cute crop tops paired with a pretty, little skater skirts to daringly short hot pants. To Taehyun, she was the epitome of allure, a tantalizing figure who seemed to dance just for him. Onstage, he played with an unspoken dedication to her, their shared, unvoiced connection fueling his performance.
During their latest show, the atmosphere was electric, charged with an intensity that went beyond the music. The venue was a cauldron of energy, hot and pulsating. Taehyun’s hair clung to his forehead, a testament to his fervor and the sweltering heat. Y/N found herself mesmerized, her gaze constantly drawn to him. To an outsider, it was just another concert, but for them, it felt like a silent conversation, a mutual yearning that grew with each beat.
As their eyes finally met, a current of understanding passed between them. It was as if they were the only two people in the room, the noise and chaos fading into a distant hum. The moment was brief but charged with unspoken promises and desires. They both knew, without a word, that their connection was more than just a fantasy. It was a deep, almost primal pull that neither of them could deny.
After the show, Y/N lingered near the backstage, her heart racing with anticipation. She knew it was a long shot, but the hope of a chance encounter with Taehyun was too enticing to pass up. As the crowd dispersed, she found herself alone, the echoes of the concert still reverberating in the empty venue.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed near her, and she turned to find Taehyun standing there, his expression an intriguing mix of confidence and vulnerability.
“I’ve seen you before,” he said, his voice low and captivating. “Every show, front and center. It’s hard not to notice.”
Y/N was taken aback, her words catching in her throat. “I… yes, I’m a big fan,” she managed to stammer out, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks.
Taehyun stepped closer, his eyes searching hers. “It’s not just the music for you, is it?” he asked, a knowing edge to his voice.
“No,” she whispered, her admission hanging in the air between them. “It’s you. It’s always been you.”
They found themselves in a quiet corner, away from the prying eyes of the world. The conversation turned more intimate, their words laced with innuendos and shared desires. Taehyun had y/n pinned subtly to the wall his leg between pressing up against her sensitive area, making her shiver in delight.
“We shouldn’t,” Y/N murmured, even as she leaned closer to Taehyun, rolling her hips against his thigh.
“Maybe not,” he replied, his voice rough with emotion. “But I’ve wanted this since the first time I saw you.”
Their lips met in a fiery kiss, a clash of unspoken yearnings and pent-up desires. Y/N's fingers gripped Taehyun's shirt tightly, an anchor in the storm of emotions swirling around them.
Taehyun's hands were firm on her hips, guiding her in a rhythm that matched the urgency of their kiss.
He broke the kiss briefly, his breath hot against her ear, "We both wanted this, didn't we?"
Nodding, Y/N gasped, her voice barely above a whisper, "Yes, yes, we did."
He smirked, a gleam in his eyes, "You're such a tease, aren't you?"
Before Y/N could respond, a voice echoed through the hallway, calling for Taehyun. They froze, the moment suspended. Taehyun didn't step back immediately, his eyes locked with Y/N's.
With a mischievous grin, he said, "Next concert, get ready for a VIP treatment like never before."
Flushed and frustrated, Y/N left the venue, her mind a whirlwind of anticipation.
Taehyun, returning to the backstage, was met by Yeonjun's curious glance. "Took you long enough," Yeonjun remarked.
Taehyun just grinned, a secret tucked behind his lips, "Had something to take care of."
Days later, as the next concert approached, Y/N's excitement built to a fever pitch. She clutched her VIP pass, feeling its weight like a promise.
Taehyun's eyes found her in the crowd, a silent message passing between them. The music pulsed around them, a backdrop to their private anticipation.
After the show, heart racing, Y/N made her way backstage. The corridor felt endless, each step amplifying her anticipation.
She found Taehyun waiting, his presence like a magnet. Their eyes met, and he asked softly, "Ready for what I promised?"
"I've been thinking about it non-stop," Y/N admitted, her voice tinged with excitement and nerves.
Taehyun stepped closer, his voice a low rumble, "I hope you're ready for a night you won't forget."
As they retreated from the world outside, Taehyun led Y/N to his dressing room, a private sanctuary amidst the chaos of the concert venue. The moment the door closed behind them, he pinned her against it, reigniting their fiery connection with a fierce kiss.
Expertly locking the door with one hand, he gripped her waist with the other, lifting her effortlessly. His movements were bold, bringing them closer, their mutual moans filling the space between them. His lips trailed down her neck, leaving a trail of heat as he carried her to the couch, ensuring she was seated comfortably in his lap, her movements against him increasingly fervent.
Y/N’s skirt, a convenient choice, allowed Taehyun easy access. He cupped her bottom, delivering a sharp, resonating smack that sent shivers down her spine, drawing out a mix of surprise and pleasure from her.
“Did you like that?” he teased, delivering another firm smack, his voice a low growl, “I want to see this turn a beautiful shade of red just for me.”
Her response was a whimpered yes, her body responding instinctively to his touch, hips rolling in rhythm with his.
He continued, his tone playful yet intense, “You’re like a little puppy, aren’t you?”
As he spoke, his free hand deftly removed her crop top, revealing her bare chest. “No bra? I’m impressed,” he murmured, his eyes taking in the sight of her with an appreciative lick of his lips.
Feeling emboldened, Y/N tugged at his shirt, her eyes asking the question her voice couldn’t quite manage. “Want this off?” Taehyun asked, to which she nodded eagerly. He obliged, removing his shirt, bringing them chest to chest, their skin tingling at the contact.
Taehyun leaned in, his voice husky, “I want you to cum right here, on my leg, like the good girl you are. Then, we’ll move on to the main event.”
Driven by his words, Y/N shifted her lingerie aside, increasing the tempo of her movements against his thigh. Taehyun sat back, his hands firmly guiding her hips, his gaze locked onto hers, filled with a potent mixture of desire and admiration.
As Y/N reached her climax, her body quivering, she cried out Taehyun’s name, a testament to the overwhelming sensation coursing through her. His leather trousers bore the evidence of her release, now glossed in the aftermath of her passion.
Breathing heavily, Taehyun pulled Y/N into a deep, consuming kiss, his voice filled with pride, “You did so well, such a good girl. Now, you’re ready for your reward.”
Their eyes met, a silent understanding passing between them. They were about to cross a threshold, stepping into a realm where their desires and fantasies would become one. The intensity of the moment was palpable, a mixture of excitement and anticipation hanging in the air.
Taehyun whispered against her lips, “Are you ready for what comes next?”
Y/N nodded, her breath hitching in her throat, “Yes, I’ve never been more ready.”
He smiled, a mixture of tenderness and mischief, “Then let’s not waste any more time.”
As they continued, their connection deepened, each touch and kiss a testament to the unspoken bond they shared. It was more than just physical attraction; it was an understanding, a meeting of minds and bodies that transcended the ordinary.
Their conversation turned to whispers, soft declarations interspersed with heated exchanges. Taehyun’s hands explored Y/N’s body with a reverence that spoke volumes, each caress a promise of more to come.
Y/N, lost in the moment, responded with equal fervor, her hands tracing the contours of Taehyun’s body, committing every detail to memory. Their movements were a dance, a perfect synchrony that seemed to defy the chaos of the world outside.
As they moved together, their world narrowed to the space they occupied, a bubble of passion and intimacy that shielded them from everything else. It was a moment of pure connection, a celebration of the feelings that had simmered between them for so long.
Taehyun’s voice was a constant in her ear, encouraging, guiding, expressing his own desires and admiration for her. “You’re incredible,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
Y/N’s response was a soft moan, her words lost in the intensity of the moment. Her heart raced, her mind filled with nothing but Taehyun and the overwhelming sensations he evoked within her. As they continued their passionate encounter, Taehyun removed his leather pants and boxers, his movements fluid and purposeful. He then had Y/N stand, gracefully removing her lingerie while deliberately leaving her skirt on, a playful preference he expressed with a mischievous grin.
Returning to his lap, Y/N felt him ease into her, the sensation overwhelming as he began to move with her. Taehyun sat back, admiring the view as her hips bounced rhythmically. His hands found her ass again, smacking sharply then squeezing, eliciting a mix of pleasure and surprise from Y/N.
"Yes, just like that," Taehyun encouraged, guiding her movements to match his increasingly fervent pace.
Y/N, caught up in the intensity, called out his name, her fingers entwining in his hair, pulling him closer.
In a swift, fluid motion, they changed positions. Y/N found herself bent over in front of him, her skirt lifted. Taehyun remarked on the reddening shade of her skin, a visual testament to their passionate play, as he continued to move against her, his smacks rhythmic and insistent.
Spotting a body-length mirror in front of them, Taehyun suggested, "Watch us. See how good you look." Y/N's response was a series of moans, her eyes capturing their reflections in the mirror, a visual amplification of their fervor.
"You're so beautiful like this," Taehyun breathed, his voice laced with desire. "I've wanted this for so long."
Y/N replied breathlessly, "Me too... I've dreamt of this moment."
Their pace quickened as Taehyun neared his climax. Pulling Y/N up so her back was pressed against his chest, he whispered a warning of his closeness. The new angle intensified everything for Y/N, causing her to cry out, her eyes closing in bliss.
One of Taehyun's hands remained on her hip, while the other ventured to her most sensitive areas, pushing her over the edge. Her voice rang out, calling his name loudly as she shuddered.
He chuckled softly, even as he smacked her bottom again, "You're so loud, but I'm no better," he admitted, his voice deepening as he reached his own climax.
After a moment of stillness, Taehyun's hands gently stroked Y/N's body, both of them catching their breath. He then continued their movements for a few more seconds before collapsing onto the couch, both panting heavily.
Taehyun admired the marks he left on her, a faint smile playing on his lips as he tenderly pulled her skirt down. Then, drawing her close, they shared a moment of silence, simply enjoying the aftermath of their intense connection.
After spending a few more moments on the couch, Taehyun stood up to find something to clean themselves with. He returned with a handful of tissues and a warm, damp cloth. They helped each other clean up, a comfortable silence enveloping them.
Spotting a T-shirt emblazoned with the logo of one of his favorite bands, Taehyun handed it to Y/N, suggesting she wear it instead of her crop top. He then changed into his casual clothes, a sense of normalcy slowly returning after the storm of passion they had shared.
Fully dressed, Taehyun looked at Y/N with a soft smile, "We should do this more often," he proposed, his voice a mix of earnestness and mischief.
Y/N nodded, a blush colouring her cheeks, "I would like that," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Taehyun then guided her out of the backstage area, ensuring they wouldn't attract unwanted attention. As they waited for her taxi, Taehyun pulled her close for another kiss, a promise lingering in the air between them.
"Next time, let's find a more comfortable place," he murmured against her lips.
As the taxi pulled up, Y/N stepped inside, turning to give Taehyun one last look. He watched her leave, a contented smile on his face.
Returning inside, Taehyun was immediately met by Yeonjun's knowing look. "So, a little rendezvous with a fan, huh?" Yeonjun teased, an eyebrow raised inquisitively.
Taehyun shrugged nonchalantly, trying to maintain a casual demeanor. "Just helping out a fan," he said, his tone light but his cheeks betraying him with a slight flush.
Yeonjun laughed, clapping Taehyun on the back. "Sure, sure, just 'helping out'. Just be careful, alright?"
Taehyun nodded, appreciating the concern beneath Yeonjun's teasing. "I know what I'm doing," he assured his bandmate.
As they walked towards the rest of the band, Yeonjun continued to rib Taehyun, "So, are we expecting a new 'special' fan at our next concert?"
Taehyun smiled, a distant look in his eyes, "Maybe. Who knows?"
The conversation turned to their usual banter as they rejoined the band, but Taehyun's thoughts remained partly with Y/N. The connection they had shared was unexpected but undeniable. He found himself looking forward to their next encounter, wondering how it would unfold.

taehyun's been your best friend for quite some time now. and to get straight to the point, you didn't feel just best friends anymore. you couldn't exactly remember when you've felt this way about someone, but you can't exactly blame yourself— taehyun was making you forget about anyone else but him.
so imagine your excitement when he called you that late sunday evening, telling you to grab your coat and wallet because he was coming to pick you up to drive around the rain. you remember he licked his lips when you entered, his eyes slowly glazing around your outfit before he chuckled at some joke you don't remember making.
the gush of cold wind from the outside had entered the car when you opened the door, and made his glasses fog up from the temperature difference in & out the car. you giggled at him as he pulled them off to wipe them clean, scowling at you before eventually giving into a smile.
and he'd eye you occasionally while the two of you stood at a red light, the color bleeding through the wet windshield and onto your features as you mouthed the lyrics to a song you chose— holding an invisible mic underneath his chin, before he'd shake his head, and you'd complain, “you're no fun!”
and the two of you sat in a Starbucks parking lot, laughing about how absurd the content of the latest quiz was. soft ‘pitter patter’ echoing as the rain hit the roof of his car, sunroof cover off and absorbing the pale color of the sky illuminating the insides of the car. he was talking about something you don't recall too well, all ears for the way his lips pressed together occasionally mid convo, the way his eyes beamed everytime he smiled, or when he'd stop sometimes to catch his breath from how fast he was speaking. and you remember him asking you, “are you listening?” with a snap of his fingers in front of your face, smirking at you. but he didn't give you a chance to respond— excusing himself to quickly run and bring in the drinks you two ordered.
and you caught the absolute lovesick look you had on in the rear view mirror, feeling suddenly embarrassed. is that how you look at him constantly?
and when he returned, you realized how his aura was just emphasized by the rain. droplets that were not yet absorbed into his hair spread sprinkled upon his bangs like pearls, freckled water upon his cheeks that he was wiping away with the corner of his sleeve— like he was some royalty, with a sparkly hue sprinkling down from the sky itself.
and he caught you staring, turning a shade of pink. “stop looking at me like that.”
and that's when you realized that taehyun looked so pretty in pink— cheeks colored with warmth despite the cold, the corners of his eyes crinkling, applying his chapstick to protect from the cold, making his lips darker as he rubbed them together. and you just shook your head, smacking him and getting back on topic.
“i don't know why you would order a cold drink,” he furrowed his eyebrows at you, eyeing your fingers stir the straw before you took it into your mouth. and his eyes darted away, looking outside instead, suddenly turning red.
“its delicious!”
he scoffed, “and you're stupid.”
“dude, just drink your pumpkin spice or something and shut up.”
“make me.”
“what?”
“huh?”
he bent towards the screen in the car and turned the volume of the song playing up. “i didn't say anything?”
little did you know, cluelessly absorbed with your own feelings, that you didn't realize it wasn't usual for taehyun to take girls in his car out for drives in the rain. or tease them for their drink choices. or let them pick what music plays in his car. or stare at them like he was right now.
taehyun was usually respectful— he didn't really find it his place to nudge someone, or to tell someone that their choices don't fit right with his own. so why didn't you realize that this boy wasn't just toying with you for his own fun, that he didn't actually give a fuck if you drank cold in this weather or not, that he's here in this moment with you as not “just friends.” ?
“you got something on your—” he pointed to your chin, and then rolled his eyes when you missed the spot multiple times. “here?”
“no,” he bent over, suddenly a bit too close for someone who needed to innocently tell a friend that they had a spec of food on their face. he wiped your chin, thumb accidentally (or not) grazing over your bottom lip. “here.”
“oh...”
you felt your lips pressed together when you eyed his features, his glasses falling lower and lower, feeling the drink slip out of your grip from the condensation from the cup. and you giggled, a hand on his chest as he placed his over your own, pushing him slightly away. “thanks, hyun.”
he hummed, clicking the window behind you to open slightly, a gush of cold suddenly entering the car and ruffling your hair. and you yelped, suddenly closing your eyes. “dude, what the fuck!”
and since you were distracted, you didn't see the blush that had settled on his cheeks, and you didn't see him biting his lips as he pulled his drink closer to his lips to take a sip. “fuck. you. ungrateful. good for nothing. dick!” you gave him a smack on his arm with every word, giggles in the car and a warm tingle in your stomach.
“dick!?” he gasped, pouting mockingly, “i liked it when you called me hyun.”
“well, you're a dick, now.” you settled the last of your hair, brushing the rain water out.
“your dick?”
“maybe.”
then after some silence. “dude, that sounds so weird.”
“fuck. yeah, you're right.”
