dunno how or why but recently my brain decided to give me a flashback to a series I read in my yaoi phase and it keeps resurfacing. Took me a while to remember the title but after some digging i found love or hate. I remember dropping it cause it was gross BUT I liked the second male lead, and now I’m stuck making song taekyung hcs.

Taekyung: "His sheer honesty in every situation is everything and lowkey how everyone fell in love with him"

Chu Sangwoo: "He's meticulously organized, hates a specific color (red), gets upset when his routine is interrupted, gets compared to computers and robots constantly, has difficulty conveying his true emotions/feelings, can be blunt, is often called antisocial and misses numerous social cues, has rules he's made for himself and faces difficulty when he realizes those rules don't always hold up, comfort item/clothing (wearing his hat, closet full of flannels), prefers to be warned before certain things occur (physical touch, changes in plans), has to practice the delivery of certain thoughts so he doesn't come off as insincere or be misinterpreted, has numerous systems for how to accomplish tasks, cannot work in an environment that is uncomfortable or has distractions (cleaning the studio, telling Choi Yoona to use headphones), special interest (programming, comparing life to processing data and eliminating problems so that things run smoothly), difficulty forming friendships and other relationships, dismisses things that don't follow his line of logic/rules, among all of these traits and more he pulls a bad bitch like Jang Jaeyoung by being exactly himself and any changes he makes are not forced upon him but rather natural and organic occurrences throughout the narrative despite his personal confusion toward said changes."

Second Season When?

A random post about the second seasons I want.

I hate second seasons, yet I still find myself praying for them and even plotting them out with my ideal scenarios:

Manner of Death – This was already supposed to happen (Transplant)! When we left off, not all the bad guys were caught and Bun and Tan showed up on Triage where there was an entire missing kidneys plot! Sorn should be in medical school now while That should have more control in the family business. This is coming but the actors are busy (and blessed!), so it is just a matter of rearranging their schedules to give me my murder mystery husbands back! Likelihood – 9/10

Not Me – When we left off, Black hit Todd with a reverse Uno. The second season should focus on the aftermath. We get to learn more about Black since season one was White focused. What happened between Todd and Black while White was away? What happens when Todd wakes up? Will Todd and Black finally realize they are enemies AND lovers? We can also see how Akk Yok is doing with making Dan grovel. Likelihood – 2/10

History 3: Trapped – When we left off, Tang Yi was headed “upstate” but we weren’t told for how long. HE SHOULD BE FREE NOW! The sequel needs to focus on his pseudo-sister getting married, him coming back as the boss and all the discrimination he gets, and him making things work with his no-longer-on-the-force boyfriend. Likelihood – 4/10

KinnPorsche – When we left off, everyone was happy EXCEPT KimChay! People complained that KimChay felt like a different story compared to the others, so lean into it for the second season. Give me a university drama where we see the rich idol chase the once-poor university student. Mix in a bit of danger like Love in the Air is doing (according to the tags since I’m not watching it), and voila! Kinnporsche: KimChay writes itself! Likelihood – 5/10 (for an actual second season, but not THIS second season)

Vice Versa – When we left off, everyone was back in their original universe, but we knew NOTHING about the relationship between Tun and Tess. The second season has to focus on this! I don’t care if it backtracks and shows us how they were doing while in the alternate universe or simply picks up with them back in their universe. I’m not picky! I need to know about them and Fuse/Aou in any way, shape, or form. Likelihood – I’ll tell you next month after the GMMTV event

Love Mechanics – When we left off, the show hinted at all of the upcoming spinoffs in the final episode. We will get Call My Name and Future that focus on Vee’s brother and Mark’s friends, but we don’t know when we will actually get them. I trust Rookie Thailand after it gave me the excellent 21 Days Theory, so I’m keeping the faith that these spinoffs are coming. Likelihood – 8/10

Light on Me – When we left off, the boys were on a beach and happy. It felt complete. It was a solid ending. THEN TaeKyung and ShinWoo made a cameo in Best Mistake 3 looking even more adorable than they did in their series, and we still need to find out who that mystery guest was that visited the teacher. There is a story there, and we deserve it! Likelihood – 5/10 (Maybe To My Star 2 will help Korea see the potential of a sequel)

To My Star – It doesn’t matter where we left off because the third season should focus on Ho Min and his journey becoming an idol. What, you say. Ho Min, Seo Joon’s manager, quit because he wants to become an idol and the best CEO, Pil Hyun, gave him money to train remember? Plus, we had that other kind actor who was working with Seo Joon. He was a rising star. Let’s focus on them! – Likelihood – 0/10

We Best Love – This was supposed to happened! When we left off, Zhe Yu and Bing Wei were engaged, Zhou Shu Yo and Gao Shi De were back together, and the doctor/bar owner was figuring out his relationship with that guy who has been in love with him for forever and day. There was some type of announcement about this, and then it was gone. Maybe I dreamed it. Was it never real? I don’t know. Likelihood – I am crazy?! 0/10

Cutie Pie - When we left off, they were officially engaged...again. An announcement was made about three special episodes. If it's not the wedding, I don't want it. Likelihood - 10/10, but it better be the wedding or nothing at all.

Why You... Y Me? is making me realize what those K-drama girlies feel when they lose it over the second lead. (But, the thing is I don't really know who the second lead is in the Green-Maitoh-Shogun triangle LMAO). Either way, I heart the trio, and if it was possible, I wish this could be a really nice poly relationship.

I wish we could have a polycule with them. That'd be the best dream. It'd be amazing. And it'd be exactly what Miatoh deserves.

Because Maitoh deserves so much love and so many people and to be so, so happy. Not to be stuck between two people who love him and having to choose who he loves more or who he loves enough to truly date. This poor boy.

This is the first love triangle where I've genuinely not been sure who he ends up with. Light On Me went that way for a bit but it quickly became very obvious who TaeKyung was going to choose in the end... but for Maitoh? I just don't know.

Shogun came through! He came to his home and he explained his feelings and he faced Maitoh! Green came out from jealousy to face him as well. And Maitoh has had multiple flashbacks to both of them and it's immense.

Like... I still can't believe I genuinely don't know.

I love them so much.

But I am on team Shogun... even though, I admit, I think he loses. @gillianthecat has been saying that this might be a 'split the trio by using Maitee for Shogun' situation but I dunno how I feel about that. Actually, I do, and I really hate it. Because it destroys this character growth we've seen of Shogun realizing he likes Maitoh for Maitoh and to stop caring and it makes him look like he's spinning around on a whim... but no one said this show was actually deep so it might be.

I dunno.

I'm torn.

And I love them all.

Day 18: Trope(s) You Dislike

Love triangle would be one of them. I've seen a lot of bad love triangle on fanfic and general fic that I don't want to watch anything about it in my BL show.

Or when there's the ex who's coming back or someone who likes one of the main characters. Don't really hate it, but it kind of irks me. I remember I dropped my rating (by a bit) for 2gether because of that particular woman in the last few episodes.

Eunji in The Eighth Sense is also ticked me in the wrong way, but gladly she got the karma she deserved.

Sohee in Light on Me is irking me but I'm glad she went through things with Daon and she eventually apologized to Taekyung, I believe?

Love Tractor has the same trope, but then I can tolerate it (even though he made my Yechan CRY) after looking at his and Seonyul's conversation.

👀 what do you think about about love triangles in BLs?

I think they should all end in polyamory. Well most of them. But also the only show that made an enjoyable love triangle was Light on Me and I still say polyamory for that one too. Also they should date Namgoong. Wait no. Shinwoo and Taekyung date. Taekyung also dates Daon. Who is also dating Namgoong. That's it. That's the one...what was the question again?

🚫 what trope do you hate and why?

I'm gonna go with a current trope we've been getting because there are so many universally hated ones that I feel like have been slowly phasing out. Hmmmmm...amnesia. Especially random and unnecessary amnesia that makes no sense for the plot or characters. *stares wide eyed into the souls of the writers of season 2 of Minato's Laundromat*

You know the answer to this but you just want me to say it here. Rude. My friend that I made watch this show calls him a hot wind bag and they are correct. That's all I'm gonna say. If you know, you know.

KinnPorsche. It's fine. It's not bad but it's certainly not the masterpiece that many people make it out to be. That's all I'm gonna say on that too.

Favorite Chapter: Chapter 27

Plot Synopsis: This novel depicts the process of main characters Gong Sunghyun and Chung Taekyung finding true love. Raised by parents in a loveless marriage, Gong Sunghyun has a pessimistic view of love and marriage and only has superficial relationships. Meanwhile, love columnist Chung Taekyung sees love as a matter of "give and take" and gives love advice to others, but hasn't been able to find true love for himself. After several failed attempts at love, two men with completely different attitudes and values eventually find true love with each other while growing together and accepting one another in their lives.

The story is good, especially the characters development. Sunghyun was kind of a jerk, and rude, but he eventually changed. Sunghyun and Taekyung may have started their relationship casually, but they did fall for each other and started having a real relationship.

It would have been great if Sunghyun's past were shown, especially what really happened in his family. I want to know fully why he hated his parents. Also, I'm curious to see what happen to Taekyung's ugly asshole ex. I want to see him get his karma and to get his ugly ass kick. Still, I'm glad he's given up easily.

Finished this a long time ago, but just like the title, I have a Love and Hate feelings with his manhwa, I'm still not over it 😩. Yeah, Taku is my bias. But either of the two seme, there's no right or wrong choice for Haesoo. The emotions are just so real that it resonated real life feelings. You know, that at the end of the day, the heart wants what it wants.

And honestly what a great 2nd episode, I just love it so far, its just sooooo fun...I literally smiled the whole episode, (that can tell you a lot-) like my heart was just melting and i was getting butterflies (just like cherry maho...i loveeee that show)

This is a very good show for a person who likes cute and fluffy elements in bl, wants to watch something new, and loves an enemies to lovers trope. Who knew that a korean school bl has a completely different vibe from a thai bl in a school setting, and i just got used to it. I’ll probably rewatch the episodes later.

The contrast between Daon admitting to Taekyung that he didn’t think about him at all on the day the rumors started spreading and Shinwoo telling Taekyung that he has always thought about him and will continue to think about him in the future (plus him seeing the proof in all of the unread texts)… I can only imagine how meaningful that was for Taekyung to hear and see. :’)

(This is not a Daon hate post. I adore Daon. But Taekyung has heard two very opposite things now from the two men he has/is developing feelings for.)
