While sailing the seas, Kell struggles to learns the new limitations to his magic. Even though Lila teaches him how to take a punch and use the short swords, a part of him can't help but reach for that wound deep inside where his magic still bleeds.

On a mission for the crown, something goes wrong. Their crew is bleeding, wounded from the marauders - a splinter of some group who believes Rhy's lack of magical talent is an omen for a dark future. Lila might be excellent in a fight, always a whirlwind of fire and blades, but Kell has the experience. He remembers what it's like to hold his brother's injured body in his arms.

Smiling grimly, he reaches over and grabs Lila's face for a brisk kiss. He apologizes before the air around him grows thick with power.

Bill nodded. "Didn't the red hair give it away? That's Ginny."

Harry looked back at Ginny, and saw her move to new dance partners. Hands slipped up and down her body and she leaned into them and then moved to the next.

"Doesn't it bother you to see everyone put their hands on your sister like that?" he asked.

Before Bill could answer, Ginny had made it up to them. She eyed him for a moment. "What's a guest doing here?"

"I carried two watermelons!" he announced, and then immediately thought that sounded incredibly lame.

She looked him up and down with another scrutinising look. Her deep brown eyes locked with his. "Then I suppose you're dancing now."

Harry looked at Bill alarmed, but her brother offered him no way out. He turned back to her. "I don't dance."

"Don't be silly," she chuckled. Her small hand firmly grasped his. "Everyone dances. We are dancing. Just follow my lead." She walked backwards, pulling him onto the dancefloor.

It didn’t happen all at once. That would be insane.  Though, Lily supposes, it did start to happen long before her. It all started with them, really. Sirius and James. James and Sirius. So much so that by the time James became James and Lily, Sirius was so much of a constant that more often than not they were Sirius, James, and Lily.  But that’s beside the point.

Hah! Of course you would choose this one.

All right, this is hardly written and very much in the idea phase, marinading in my brain, but it's basically an AU where Harry never went to Hogwarts (but most other things in canon are still true) and therefore Harry and Ginny haven't met. It's post-war, and Ginny moves into her new flat. I have it in my head that she turns and suddenly sees a young man standing in front of her bookshelves.

That's right, roommates AU but ghosts, bahahaha. Only Ginny can see him.

Don't worry, it's angst with a happy ending though. With a heavy dose of pining.

Here's the only pseudo sharable snippet:

“Gin…” He reaches out, his pale fingers outstretched to her cheek. She sucks in a breath and closes her eyes, imagining his touch. What it would be like to actually feel his fingers against her skin. There’s nothing but air, but she shivers anyway.

22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?

Yes and no. For example, I have bits written for the end of chaos but it’s so open ended right now. I know big things (sort of) concerning Hallie and Gideon and little things about them too, but world building wise I need to make some decisions because I think I’m at the point where it’s going to start to matter and things to need to connect long term. I actually think that’s contributing to my writing/creativity paralysis for that AU.

I specifically renamed it for that! I already had ILAC as abbreviation so I knew I just add an L in front so it could spell Lilac because that's more fun. I even changed the line in the fic so it really matched
