Did you know- one in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before age 18? 60% of the women abused as children never speak of their abuse, and 90% know their abuser on a personal level. This is the Haven Retreat, which is run by The Younique Foundation. The sole purpose of this retreat is to help along the healing process for women who were victims of childhood sexual abuse. There is no cost to participants of the retreat except their transportation to and from. Creating this Foundation was the the reason Younique was started. The dream was that after 10 years, the Haven Retreat would be operational. Because of the amazing customers we have, the retreat is already in operation. (Just this month, sales of our Customer Kudos special were able to sponsee 1,000 women to attend!) In addition to the work with the retreat, Younique has also created an organization called Defend Innocence. Defend Innocence provides information and education to prevent childhood sexual abuse and gives tools to parents and caregivers to open dialog with children about this subject. Ludzie pochodzą z różnych środowisk i mogą wykorzystać naszą historię przeciwko nam lub po prostu nas skrzywdzić. Pamiętaj, rozmawiaj ze swoimi dziećmi, jak bardzo mogą zranić innych, zadając zbyt wiele pytań. Jako dziecko z traumą masz prawo powiedzieć nie, nie chcę o tym mówić. Nie każde dziecko ma biologiczną mamę i / lub tatę, więc uważaj na to co mowisz. Badz swiadom tego o co pytasz. *** We need to be all very carefully while talking to other, when showing off our experiences and previous events. We need to watch ourselves with conversation about our lives. People are coming from different backgrounds and can use our story against us or simply hurt us. Please be aware, talk to your children how bad they can hurt others questioning too much. As a child with trauma you have rights to say no, I don’t want to talk about this. Bad dream

I had a dream that one of my sisters died. I can remember reading her obituary and some lines stick with me “ today we have lost a lion of a person” (her name is literally what color a lion can be called and last is brown) and I thought it was a joke. I saw it on Facebook and the paper but no one called me, no family commented on anything or reached out and talked to me. Then it flashes forward and I see her funeral happening. Family, friends all in black around her and I’m in jeans just sobbing because no one told me and I never reached out. This hit me so hard that I woke up and called my mom (time difference so she was awake) and we just talked I never mentioned it or told anyone, but now I have another fear. Not just of loosing my family when we die; but loosing them while they are still alive.
