Is yugo a proshipper/neutral? Genuine question because they’ve done some… questionable things in the past (shipping frans, using slurs they can’t claim in a comic (the f slur).

I mean I came across a post that said they were pretty chill with someone shipping epic with freaking Xgaster in march of this year and I was like??????? (Dude?? 1. That guy is an alternate version of your abusive father. 2. He’s basically Cross’s father (y’know your canonical best friend?)  who also abused by him. like what????)

And I find it weird that they seem to chill about that, but if you try and bring up epic in any way possible they lose it since they have unbridled hatred towards him and his fans. (bonus points when someone talks about shipping epic and cross, heck shipping epic with anyone male tends to make them annoyed, despite some early art depicting epic FLIRTING WITH METTATON)

I'm pretty sure they wiped Epic and his papyrus out of the comic just so they wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

At this point i've already blocked them for their hostility towards all things epic/epic being gay/shipping him with xgaster and the whole frans stuff. I mean dude, even comyet is grossed out by anyone trying to ship ink with a gaster or his fathers (who are gasters and aren't even related by blood. Not that it matter tho, it's stil gross).

I don’t know if they are or not, because shipping Frans (or used to) and using f slurs while they actively seem to really really hate any gay ships but is very okay with lesbian ships seems a little strange. Potentially fetishizing perhaps, although maybe they’re just annoyed if they were constantly bombarded with sans x sans questions and stuff.

I don’t know Yugo, haven’t finished reading any of the Epictale content and i haven’t scrolled all through the blog, so I can’t say for sure. Maybe someone with more knowledge on this can chime in.

Although, after reading one of the links you sent me, i think you might’ve misread something.

The asker and yugo didn’t say they shipped Epic x XGaster or were okay with that, they say were okay with Epic Gaster x XGaster. No alternative sons being shipped with alternative fathers, although DILFs (im using this word just because they are both fathers not because i personally want to fuck them 💀) who are the same person are being shipped and yugo at least doesn’t mind or doesn’t care.

I don’t know what their issue is with their own characters and people liking them, but I think yugo probably needs to set some boundaries with fans if they haven’t already.

rather than getting annoyed when people inevitably ship best friends and one of them is their character who they make flirt with men, perhaps they should just ask people to not send them questions about sans x sans ships, or crepic if it really makes them that uncomfortable. and if anyone does, just delete the asks or comments or reblogs.

getting annoyed when people bring up or ask about the characters you made seems pretty strange to me, it’s just a sign that people really like your character enough to be obsessed with them, but i can understand if they got annoyed if epic was all anyone focused on and not any of the other characters. but in that case, they should probably just delete anything they get about epic (from fans) they don’t want to see or answer.

but to allow your emotions and fans like of your character to cause you to change a story, or erase or get rid of the character, just to spite the fans/character or just so you don’t have to deal with them seems very odd to me. perhaps yugo needs to take a step back from the Epictale “fanbase” and stop engaging with it.

they can’t control what fans do with their work and characters as soon as it leaves their own eyesight, and they’d be better off not stressing over it. and fans should respect them, and stop bringing fandom stuff to them like ships or asking their opinions on ships—no one needs a creator’s opinion on a ship.

epic is a different thing, since he’s literally a character in the story, and a sans at that—which of course means people will bring him up and ask about him. if they don’t want to answer anything about epic, they should make that very clear and then don’t answer. Not answer just to give annoyed, passive aggressive replies. I think it’s sad when creators allow a fanbase to taint and affect their feelings about their work.

ive recently watched a two hour interview with @jokublog and there was more dreamtale lore in those two hours than all the hours i spent serching on her account, plus ive been talking to a friend (@talonsirgo) which is also a dreamtale fan, just not as fanatic as me, so if theres way more dreamtale content than usual its that.

i didnt really like how the faces turned out in this one, i really gotta learn how to do expressions.

I think we as a collective fandom should make more angst stuff about epic.

dude canonically traumatized, stuck with a crappy magic donor (epic!gaster)who saw him as nothing more than an asset (called him that to his face mind you), raised his brother by himself after that said magic donor went to get the milk on his way to commit genocide, hasn't gotten a wink of sleep in the last 20 years and is suicidal as a result (along with other reasons) - WHY ISN'T THIS FANDOM DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THAT????

This fandom LIVES off of the misery of residents of the multiverse. The utmv has basically gotten the MLP treatment with the OG material being sunshine and rainbows and every Au out of it having the vibes and story of silent hill and I have no mouth and I must scream.

Like imagine how many peices of art or fanfics that could come out talking about this stuff!!!! AUGH SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Like what if epics friends find out about his past, what if his brother finds out how he's actually feeling. IMAGINE WHAT CROSS AND THE X-TALE GANG WOULD DO AS A RESULT. WHAT THE CHORMATIC CREW WOULD DO!!!!

Probably cause most of the focus in the sans AU part of the fandom is mostly on the bad sanses and making them into either a family or a large poly that’s barely a poly.

So basically, shipping. Many people forget Epic even exists — and replace him as Cross’ best friend even — and mainly focus on using him to say a joke or something. Which isn’t too bad I suppose, I’d imagine it’s rather hard to get Epic to drop that “memey” part of his personality—especially if it’s also a coping mechanism for him—but also imagine what it’d take to push him far enough to drop it or let it slip.

i wish to know your art process

and your favorite type of candies/food :p

my process is never 100% the same so I'll do an approximation lol.

I might start with an optional thumbnail, I do this if I have trouble the first time, this is like teeny tiny in the corner of my canvas, just to get the flow of the pose without worrying about anatomy and stuff, for backdrops I always do it.

then it usually goes one of two ways, a line sketch or blocking in

even though blocking in is "better" because it forces me to think about shapes and silhouette I often just do line sketches cause it's easier ^^;

then I do a nicer sketch over the initial one, from there I can lower the opacity of that sketch and spend an 2+ hours doing lineart and sobbing or the sketch is good as is and just needs refining, that's why if you look at my art you can really see two types of lineart lol. I also color my lineart, I think it's a little detail that helps a lot.

after that I color, nothing I can illustrate, I usually use clip studio's special lasso tool bc it just grabs only the inside of the lineart, plop a color down and alpha lock it then I can put all my different colors willy nilly and it won't go outside the lines. If the lasso tool doesn't work I just do the same but by hand.

if I want to shade I add a multiply layer, I have one dark color and one light one, go ham. Boom piece shaded.

This obviously isn't mentioning the years spent studying and getting muscle memory and an understanding of these things, there are things I can do only cause I've just been at it a while ^^ this is just my process now with the current state my art is in.

I've been thinking about Epic (shocker I know xD) and I thought about the missed opportunity for his and Packs' relationships with Epictale Mettaton and Napstablook.

Like, both are ghosts, and including Mad Mew Mew and Red/Lara, are two of four of all the ghosts Underground (and in existence currently). Monsters come in all kinds of variety, but as ghosts, I wonder if it's more isolating for them. That they'd be considered "not true" monsters because of their lack of corporeal forms, something all monsters have.

And Mettaton, Lara, and Mew Mew chose to possess bodies to fit in more and be more like "real" monsters. And there's still that slight "Oh you're not really one of us" from other monsters still, that they had to get physical forms just to "imitate" being a real monster. And how much worse it is for extremely socially anxious Napstablook and why they choose to stay with their cousin Mettaton in the lab so they wouldn't feel alone.

How Epic being treated as a "fake" monster, someone artificially made and is treated by all of Gester's followers and Gester himself as something inferior and less than because of his existence being an outlier from the rest of monsterkind, how much Mettaton and Blooky would empathize with him.

How Mettaton would one day make the connection between Epic's treatment and his and his cousins' own when Blooky quietly points it out one day after the latest experiment, where all the Followers and Gester thought it was within their rights to manhandle Epic's Soul and he had no say in the matter. All because he "wasn't a real monster." Didn't that sound familiar...

Napstablook had always been kind, and been softer to Epic than the others. And after they pointed out why they went out of their way to befriend Epic when they were normally extremely socially anxious to the point of isolation, Mettaton can't continue on with a blind eye anymore, discomfort churning in his wiring whenever he sees how his coworkers and boss, Epic's own father, look at and treat him.

Epictale Mettaton and Blooky could've found Epic hiding away somewhere, eating quietly and alone, and sat with him. Sharing their own experiences about what it was like to be considered alien from their own kind. How whatever occupation they decided to take on, with Mettaton and Blooky in the lab or Lara in the Guard and Mew Mew with their business, they always feel like they have to be the best (sharing that harmful mindset with Epic that their worth is only defined by their productivity), give it their all just to be considered as meaningful contributors to monster society. They could've had a tentative friendship and later close work partnership formed, with Metta, Blooky, and later when introduced, Mew Mew and Lara taking in Epic and later on Packs as honorary cousins.

Heck, there's even a funny moment where Epic accidentally calls Mettaton "Dad" and the ghost fam tease him relentlessly about it xD

We could've had Mettaton joking for Epic to "respect his elders" whenever he pulls a prank or joke. Or Epic and Mew Mew having a blast dressing each other up. Or Packs posing and finally being someone for Mew Mew to match and absolutely destroy everyone else in dancing with. Not to mention a sparring partner for Lara that they can match and both just hit it off really well. (RIP Toriel's ballroom. It has to be rebuilt everytime they party in there).

((And maybe instead of Mettaton and Lara having crushes on Packs, they joke that he's their favorite nephew and Epic pouts everytime. "I know my baby bro's the best but I'm pretty cute too! Right Metta?"

Hi it's me, the one scrolling through and liking your Ink posts. You are correct and should scream it from the rooftops. I have never met anyone more correct in my life.

I appreciate the compliment, I do enjoy being right. Thank you for reading through my posts, Beau, I tend to have a lot to say on character canons and canon-adjacent concepts. What shocks me is people actually like my ideas, which I didn't get a lot of when I was last in this fandom a couple years ago. But then again I wasn't on Tumblr a couple years ago.

But I am not always right. As passionate as I am about characters like Ink, Dream, Swap, Error, etc., I don't have all their canons familiarized to me like the back of my hand, and sometimes I misunderstand their sources. There are other users with a better understanding of that knowledge than me, like @howlsofbloodhounds for Killer, @letsatomicbanana for Ink, and @talonsirgo for Dreamtale, and Talon primarily gets their sources from @/xxtha-blog, who is THE certified Joku-approved Dreamtale expert and has written many posts and essays about Dreamtale canon.

But it’s great for me to know that I'm starting to get the hang of Ink. He was one of the most difficult characters for me to understand before, I wouldn't be able to tell you why. Now he's one of my all time favorites.

Wait why is it called the chromatic crew? I can't remember who apart of it

Chromatic crew because chromatic is basically another word for “colors/multicolored” and the whole crew basically fill out the rainbow/color spectrum.

Chromatic Crew usually tends to be the Epic Sanses (Epic, Color, Delta) + Killer + Cross (helped by the fact that it seems almost all of them have been drawn by their creators interacting before), but some people also add in Horror and Dust too. (Murder Time Trio + Color also have their own lil name of Blacksmith.)
