I can’t tell you how ready I was for that swim. I had to put my @davidlloyduk membership on hold in September to prioritise other payments we needed to make. I thought I’d be back before today to be honest but we needed that bit extra time. From the old to the new 🏠 . House renovations of 2021-2022 almost complete. Still some walls to paint and flat pack furniture to build but the majority is done. So grateful to all of the help from my family. They really are the best (especially putting together that next display unit. 2 people, 30 minutes was a LIE). We may be heading towards October half term but I’m now planning beyond 2022 and into 2023. Fridays. Admin days. Fridays for me are all about admin Sending emails, scheduling content, going through finances, pruning off my chaos coordinator pages ready for my prep for the week on Sunday. Filing papers. Etc. Having a day dedicated to tasks like this really help keep me on track. It helps me when planning in events, when scheduling in a coffee date with friends etc. Do you have theme days to your week? It’s coming, I can feel it. Cosy season is on the way. Flip flops have reluctantly been put in the cupboard until such time as we hop on a plane or summer returns next year. A change in the seasons is a great time to have a clear out to change things up, have a deep clean in the house and get rid of the energy that doesn’t feel so good anymore. Now while I’m not at the smudging sage around just yet, I do find having a big deep clean cleanses your mind and soothe the soul. Those transitional seasons like spring and autumn feel even more so a great time to de clutter. So when that change of the season feels heavy, when you ven feel a little anxious about the days getting darker, make a plan, stick on a podcast or some good cosy tunes and have a clear out, change things around and deep clean those neglected areas. Back to school with confetti on top. Or back to school with a bump. However your first days have gone. It’s all ok. If they need some time to transition back into that routine. If you need some time to recoup. However your day has gone. It’s all ok. There is always a way to start over. There is always a chance to catch a breath. After some chores this morning & a then a trip to the dentist I needed a moment to top up my energy, A moment to breath. This is the river I used to swim in. Unfortunately we are no longer allowed due to vandals swearing at the farmer who owns the land. But just being there with a cuppa (my free cuppa for downloading the @greggs_official app) was enough to grab a breath after the first school run back. I mean to be honest it went surprisingly well. Often though it’s all a mindset shift that helps things feel like they are that bit smoother. Is that even possible with more kids than hands? Actually is it even possible with kids full stop. No matter how many you have? I’m here to tell you it is! I’ve two sets of twins, and while yes there is chaos at times, I’ve truly simplified our life! I searched, longed, prayed for a simple life. The ones you see on insta, the ones you see in magazines. While I do t have sepia filters, and a pantry full of Milner jars (though that part is growing) I’m living a much simpler way of life. I’ve cut out the crap of motherhood busyness. I’ve rid my house of stuff (again this is something I work on often) I’ve cleared the negativity somewhat. If I can cut the overwhelm, simplify life with two sets of twins, a dog, a husband, a home to run and working two businesses did I also mention I’m on the pta & a director of a community charity event group too.
