I think that Percy should've been kidnapped after finding out that Sally is a few months pregnant. So when Percy gets his memory back in SoN, he remembers her telling him that he's gonna have a little baby sister or brother, and that becomes a huge point of strength for him to make it back home. He needs to survive to finally meet his little sibling. That thought carries him through Tartarus, through Annabeth acting like he's a monster and crying/begging him not to use his powers, through seeing horrific gods: Tartarus, Nyx and the edge of chaos. And then one of the final scenes of HoO is Percy literally running home, knocking on the door and Paul or Sally answers with little baby Estelle, only a few months old in their arms.

okay, why did I just remember that Calypso cursed Annabeth in House of Hades? That whole scene really cut deep to me. They were fighting Arai, and Annabeth suddenly can’t find Percy and is calling out his name. It reveals that Calypso had cursed her for being his love interest. I don’t know why that resonates with me so much. It snaps Percy back to the reality that he had to leave Calypso on Ogygia. As he’s fighting for his life, barely able to stand, he’s reminded of deep regret. How he had been such a terrible friend. It’s so powerful in that scene.
Another thing about that is how the curse worked. Annabeth started to wonder why Percy left her. Percy tried calling out to her and getting close, but every time he did, she’d be moved farther away. This is probably exactly how Calypso felt.

“There’s No Escape.”
Supergiant’s Hades may be one of my favorite games now. Yeah I’m late to the party, but at least it’s fashionably.

Annabeth: Percy was not scared in Tartarus because he knew he was the scariest being in Tartarus.
Annabeth:
Annabeth: I, on the other hand, was terrified because I did not know how scary Percy could get.

I was thinking about Will and Nico probably going to Tartarus in the next book and I thought that Will won't just be a "moral support" for Nico. So, what if he could literally give him a hand? Imagine how cool it would be if, in Tartarus, the darkest place of all, Will could literally be a guiding light for Nico? helping and supporting him. and so I imagined this scene and now I can't think of anything else and I hope something like that happens!

percico headcanon for you: Percy and Nico in Tartarus together instead of Annabeth and Percy
Explanations first of all: as time works differently in the underworld and in Tartarus, they ended up aging more or less a year in weeks, their hair grew, they are pale and Nico became taller. Being together for so long, facing so many difficulties, ended up bringing them closer together, confessing things to each other and understanding each other better. When Percy poisons Misery, Nico is a little scared but understands that it was necessary for his survival, he supports Percy using these powers and learning to control them better (he even thought it was cool, but passions aside)
Now, at the end of the journey, they are talking:
