"i wonder if Tessa thought she was safe to stand alongside the other athletes and was blindsided to be singled out in these quotes"
I'd be surprised if she really thought her name wouldn't stand out among the signatories. I'd also hope that she wouldn't sign something that she wasn't prepared to defend, so being singled out shouldn't be a big deal. If anything, it only makes her position stronger.
i'm thinking of how she was paralyzed to respond to the Humboldt bus crash, how she responded to the Nivea mask criticism in 2020, how she declined to comment on the Kamila Valieva doping scandal during Beijing while doing commentary when she's so eminently qualified to speak on it - safe sport for girls, clean sport - she restoried a quote of Scott's but didn't speak on it herself at the time.
I have no doubt she believes in what she signed. I just don't know that she thought she'd be singled out by Russian media and members of the skating community, including people she knows well, one with whom she has a pretty charged history. i don't have the impression that this type of blowback would be nbd to her, even if she knows she's right

Tarasova: “There is no football in Russia! There is figure skating and hockey
Honored coach USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova She has stated that she doesn’t like watching football.
I don’t follow the World Cup in Qatar. I don’t like watching football, we don’t have it. Is this sport well developed in our country? Well, is it normal when our team always performs badly in European competitions?
There is no football in Russia! The main sports in our country are figure…
Happy that I can finally share this. Back in early 2022, I had the honour of working on an upcoming new 3D animated series created by my 3D alma mater - Animschool. For this project, I used my modeling skills to create two of the mechs featured in the series. This one is called the Carrier Mech.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Mech Modeling Lead, Tatiana Petrova and our Modeling Supervisor, Nina Tarasova, I helped bring this little mech to life. I was only responsible for the modeling portion though. Also special thanks to Dave Gallagher, the series creator, for his input throughout my time during the production process.

Do you know if Maria Khoreva switched her coach at the Mariinsky? I know it always used to be Elvira Tarasova but in her recent Instagram post about Swan Lake she mentions Tatiana Gennadievna (Terekhova). Do you think they just prepared SL together or might it be permanent?
I did see this and was surprised by this! Would love to know if anyone has more information!
Tatiana Tarasova spoke about the fact that Canadian athletes are against the admission of Russians to international competitions.
Earlier, Tessa Virtue and other Canadian athletes sent a letter to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Canada, which had previously supported the IOC’s position on the admission of Russian athletes in a neutral status, and urged not to allow the Russians.
Tatiana Tarasova: They, signing such letters, wish death to their friends with whom they competed! They all got into politics. What did our athletes do wrong to Tessa? She just shuts them down.
They just kill them! They kill their colleagues! This is a real murder and I can’t look at it any other way.
Previously, during the Olympic Games, wars were stopped, but they want to fight, they want to destroy their comrades, with whom they went on the ice together. Beasts, vile people!
You never know who does not want to see us. It always seemed to me that Canadians are a friendly, non-violent nation, they never showed themselves that way.
But here they can be understood: of course, they want to win, including in figure skating, at least something in ice dance. They don’t need more competition.
There is no other way to explain this statement. I do not want to believe that Tessa is an evil and unfair person. And I think that we will participate in the Games.
Your naivety will never stop surprising me. You think Yuzuru, a 25 year-old 2x OGM doesn't have any say about his career and who his coaches can give training to? Why do you think TSL had so much fun gossiping about how Shoma was rejected by many coaches during that 2019 summer? Why do you think TCC skaters said Yuzuru hates Shoma at TSL Patreon? Everyone knows why Shoma can't work with Ghislain before, that's why that part was not translated by Yuzuru fans. Anyway, karma doesn't sleep.
You call me naive and your source is TSL? 😂 TSL is a valid source of information? When it's proven time and time again that these are just two old white men who want to feel important and spread gossip that is often not true at all? When will ppl realize that TSL are not more knowledgeable than anyone else. (Tatiana Tarasova saying she wouldn't have taken a pic with Dave if she would have known who he is, tells you everything about how well perceived they are among ppl inside the skating world)
TCC skaters as source? Who? Because you know that Javi once openly said that Yuzu doesn't socialize with anyone at TCC. He doesn't go out with anyone at TCC. Ekaterina Kurakova said that skaters were too afraid to approach Yuzu because of the way he is such a legend in this sport. Yuzu was surprised when she approached him. Yuzu in TCC did his training and went back home to study. Yuzu hasn't been at TCC since early 2020 and didn't spend much time at TCC for the past 5 years due to his injuries. How much do you think the other skaters interacted with Yuzu? And even when he was at TCC, don't you think he had his own timeslot to train? So at what point do you think Yuzu told some other no name skaters that he hates Shoma?
Of course Yuzu has a say in who he can train with. Brian Orser explained that if he wants to take a new student, he would ask the skaters he already trains. He asked Javi if it was ok to train together with Yuzu. TCC however was never in discussion as training base for Shoma because of Yuzu. Which is quite clear, why would JSF want both of their top skaters at the same place when both of them come from two political sides in JSF? And Yuzu and Shoma are aware of the fan wars that are even more bad in Japan than English speaking ppl will ever realize. It's a form of protection for the both of them. Shoma only could have worked with Ghislain at some summer camp at Champery and that didn't happen.
Shoma did not even tryout many coaching camps. He was scheduled for 3. One in Russia with Eteri Tutberidze, one in Champery with Stephane Lambiel, one in the United States, a camp that never happened. He tried two in person Eteri's and Stephane's. You really think coaches are not interested in taking the Olympic Silver medalist? Why do you think Eteri's team is still badmouthing Shoma? They wanted him at all cost, they even kind of announced it before he made the rejection himself. TCC was for sure not part of the discussion as training base for Shoma because of Yuzu. Shoma didn't want to take any coach because he didn't want to be a burden as the season already started. Stephane Lambiel wanted to work with Shoma from the tryout camp on, Shoma himself decided against it. There are multiple sources for this and not some rumor. Shoma later revealed that he wanted to train at Stephane's since the tryout there, but that he thought he could do it a season alone to not interfere with Stephane's current students. We all know he couldn't do it on his own and went to Stephane immediately after IdF.
You can believe what you want, but for me it seemed like Fanyus didn't want to translate the part about Shoma because Ghislain says he is working with Shoma now. And Fanyus hate Shoma. On top Ghislain Briand is considered among Fanyus as the only right jumping coach for technique. If this jumping coach calls Shoma's quads quads he knows what he is talking about. If you look at the timeline you can see that Ghislain Briand worked with Shoma in spring. Spring - a time where Yuzu's retirement from competition was not announced - he already worked with Shoma. So either Shoma and everyone else involved already knew Yuzu would go pro because Yuzu told them, so they knew working together won't be a problem or Yuzu doesn't have a say in it anymore. We won't know. That's why I said "I like to believe" because you can believe whatever you want you have no proof for either story.
I don't know why we have to discuss time and time again that Yuzu hates Shoma? What is your problem? Because if you really think so, do you think Yuzu is that fake of a person that he would tell how they are friends, that he would touch Shoma's hair at any occasion and praise him? You tell that about ppl you don't like? Are you all that fake yourself to ppl you don't like that you have to assume this with Yuzu and Shoma? What would that say about Yuzu when everything he ever said about Shoma was not genuine? Fanyus say Yuzu is the kindest person, is it kind of someone to fake a friendship, to tell lies publicly about how you are friends? So either Yuzu is genuine towards Shoma, what I believe, or Yuzu isn't as good a person as Fanyus make him out to be. You cannot have both ways.
I let pictures speak for themselves. If Yuzu and Shoma can fake this, they should win an oscar.
You can call me naive. I believe in the good in ppl and I question sources and the motives by the ppl who share it. I never assumed everyone is close and friends, but why do you want to believe in hatred between two ppl you don't even know personally?
Saucy, I'm sure this clinic Scott and Tracy are doing was planned months in advance, I just can't help but feel like they're being used a little bit to try to repair the image of that rink after the recent allegations. It finally made sense to me why they always seem to have so much junior talent that never makes it into senior successfully. They need to get rid of Ted, he's using Russian tricks to keep himself in power. He literally wants to be the Canadian Tatiana Tarasova.
So, the event is the British Columbia/Yukon territory figure skating annual general meeting. That is planned quite a bit in advance, as to where it is held and what kind of schedule they’ll have, to make sure that people want to attend and to be able to plan their stay. I don’t know many of the details about the allegations, but it looks like the open letter was published on April 27, but booking for the hotel/events were at least the beginning of April (possibly earlier). Having the event there may have been a boon once everything came to light, but unless there was a big conspiracy way beforehand, it’s a coincidence and since that rink is the biggest/well known in the area for figure skaters, not really surprising. But it’s not just for the coaches or even just the skaters of that one club; it’s about the section (coaches/skaters who choose to attend, for anyone affiliated with the BC/YT clubs).
As for the rest, I haven’t been following enough to be able to properly respond.
So.... t/m are appealing the ISU ban whereas they were at a pro-war rally, wearing the z on their jackets. Plushenko projets to do an ice show at Donetsk, and Tarasova thinks this is a good idea, and I probably missed some shit like this...
And at the same time, Anna is promoting a cat adoption event. Be sweet and lovely as Anna.
was happy to see that Tessa signed with the 41 other retired Olympians. the way that Marina, Tatiana Tarasova, Max Trankov, Irina Rodnina were all asked within hours of this for a quote, all including Tessa's name feels pretty organized - and what else are they going to say in response? i'm sure they would like their athletes to be allowed to compete, and it's not like they have free speech on this issue
i wonder if Tessa thought she was safe to stand alongside the other athletes and was blindsided to be singled out in these quotes - she's on the side of right, though
Back in early 2022, I got the chance to work on the upcoming new 3D animated series created by my 3D alma mater - Animschool. For this project, I create two of the mechs featured in the series. This is the second mech design I got to work on. It's called the Carry Mech.
Similar to the Carrier Mech, I used my modeling skills to bring this cute little helper mech to life under the guidance and supervision of the Mech Modeling Lead, Tatiana Petrova and our Modeling Supervisor, Nina Tarasova, with additional input from Dave Gallagher, the series creator.
I was only responsible for the modeling portion of this mech creation. For this mech in particular, the additional produce assets such as, some of the fruits, vegetables and pastries, featured with it were downloaded from Quixel.
All props to the rest of the team who took this mech after me and realized it even further via textures, rigging and of course, animation. Ya'll did a phenomenal job! It was so cool seeing this guy in the final project which is out NOW on Youtube. You can watch it now right HERE.
