WIP Intro | Tails & The Jade Bridge

It's time: Tails is leaving to start his own adventure. He's going to miss his big brother, but it's time to see what he's capable of alone. And what better way to start than by investigating an anomaly in his cutting-edge research into interdimensional space? But though Tails is ready to take on the world, is he really ready to take on two?

Tails & The Jade Bridge is an indie fan comic/passion project about siblings, coming of age, and the limits of what one person can do on their own, loosely inspired by Sonic Frontiers, the 1996 OVA, the IDW comics, the Sonic Riders series, and everything else I love about StH!

Will be released on tumblr, one page at a time, as I finish them.

so glad i managed to finish this in time! i wanted to revisit this alternate design i made for trick, which i ultimately decided against in favor of her current one. this one is just too cute to ignore!!

What part of your comic are you most excited to bring to life??

hi anon!! thanks for asking!

i’m really excited for trick and trace, of course, especially with their extreme gear. a couple of scenes come to mind that i don’t want to reveal just yet… let’s just say they have to do with scary robots, darkest hours, and a lot of lightning >:) and a sibling reunion or two!

I’m mostly sending this to ask to be added to the taglist. While @raven4172 is a side blog of my main, it’d be preferable to notify that one since that’s the one that I rant about Sonic on LOL

Great job on the artwork so far, btw! Trace is awesome and I would do anything to protect him. Really looking forward to what you have in store!

just worked on tails and the jade bridge for. six hours

i write semi-chronologically. i got through all the major emotional beats in chapter two (as far as i know) and finally got to the ending… man

i do this for the cathartic moments. the resolutions. the release, the way you can finally exhale after being tense all story long.

sure, emotional scenes on their own are fine, but when they’re placed in context? 1000% more effective and more fun to write.

this is like.. one of the first times i’ve gotten to the end of a story with a well-defined theme and character arcs and god it feels good.

the fact that it’s going to take so much longer before i’m able to share it with anyone is killing me. that’s why i’m working so hard on this, because i need to get it to a place where it will make sense to other people. and when i can finally release it on the world it’s going to feel so fucking good
