Hi! i love your writing and was wondering if you could do the tbb (or just tech if you dont wanna do all of them) reaction to their gender neutral S/O pulling out their old instrument or color guard equipment from their marching band days and practicing what they remember (i dont even know if star wars has an equivalent to marching band/color guard lol but i picked an old practice flag up for the first time since high school earlier and the thought popped into my head for this request..) feel free to disregard this if it’s not something you wanna write, keep up the amazing work!!

How The Bad Batch react to you pulling out your old instrument or colour guard equipment.
warnings: none, gender neutral reader, can be read as platonic or romantic, Batchers admiring/encouraging reader.
authors note: this is a really cute idea and sorry it has took so long to do anon. In the UK we don’t really have marching bands/ colour guards aside from royal parades from what I know so I’ve relied on Google to help me out 😅 enjoy!

Echo
"Think we've got everything?" Echo asks, sealing the final box of your belongings.
As you survey the sea of packed boxes, you're struck by the realisation of just how many possessions you've gathered over the years. It's only now, in the process of moving out of your family home, that the extent of it hits you. After what feels like an eternity of packing and stacking, you're finally done and you couldn’t be any more grateful for Echo's helping hand.
"I hope so," you reply, wiping your brow and straightening up, hands on your hips. "Now, all that's left is to get it onto the ship." The prospect of lugging boxes onto the ship isn't exactly thrilling, but you're itching to kick back and relax.
Echo chuckles and reaches for one of the sealed boxes, but disaster strikes as the bottom gives way, sending its contents tumbling to the floor. "Well, that's just great," he says wryly.
Letting out a sigh, you join him in gathering up the scattered items. Amidst the chaos, something catches your eye: an old, familiar object. "No way!"
Startled by your sudden excitement, Echo turns to you. "What is it?"
"It's my Sabre!" you exclaim, holding up the cherished item for him to see.
He blinks in surprise. "Uh, your lightsaber?"
You playfully roll your eyes at Echo, a mischievous glint in your eyes, as you take the equipment into your hands and wave it at him. "You've known me long enough to know I'm not a Jedi, Echo," you tease, giving the Sabre a quick twirl. "It's from when I used to be be a colour guard for a marching band."
Echo chuckles, shaking his head in amusement. "I didn't know you did that."
"Yeah! I loved it. Want to see what I can still do?" you ask, a hint of excitement in your voice.
"The floor's all yours," he says, stepping back to give you space.
You take a moment to steady yourself, feeling the weight of the stainless steel Sabre in your hands. With a deep breath, you begin your routine, the familiar movements flooding back to you. As you twirl the Sabre with practiced precision, you can't help but feel a surge of nostalgia. However, in the midst of your performance, disaster strikes as the Sabre slips from your grip, narrowly missing a nearby window.
"Okay, okay, I'm a little rusty. Give me a second," you laugh sheepishly, quickly retrieving the saber and regaining your composure but Echo was still smiling and impressed throughout.
Determined to redeem yourself, you focus on each movement, executing smooth transitions and intricate spins. With each flourish, you feel a sense of satisfaction, the familiar rhythm of the routine bringing back fond memories. As you finally come to a graceful finish, you can't help but feel a sense of pride wash over you.
Echo applauds, a smile playing on his lips. "That was really impressive. You should've told me you could do that before."
"We all have our hidden talents," you grin, a twinkle in your eye as you admire the old memory in your hand before carefully tucking it back into the box. "Anyway, we should probably get going before I get distracted again."
“Well,” he says, resting a hand on your shoulder, “you should perform for me again sometime. If you want to that is.”
There’s a shine in his eyes, genuinely in awe of you and your talent. “I’ll definitely think about it.”

Hunter
Low on credits and desperate for some food to fill your stomachs, you and Hunter venture into a bustling market on a remote planet, hoping to find some opportunity to earn a bit of cash.
"See anything?" Hunter asks, strolling alongside you as you take in the sights and sounds of the market.
"Not really," you reply with a frown. The market is dimly lit, offering little in the way of useful materials, and the locals don't seem particularly welcoming. It's no wonder Hunter insisted on accompanying you.
But then, something does catch your eye. "Hey, that looks like one of my old flags," you remark, pointing to a colorful flag tucked away at the back of a small pop-up stall.
Hunter stops beside you, his interest piqued. "You used to spin those, didn't you?"
You chuckle at his phrasing, yet surprised that he remembers since it was just something you mentioned in passing once. "Yeah, I did. Not sure if I still have the touch, though."
A smirk spreads across Hunter's face as he holds up a finger, indicating for you to wait a moment. A bit embarrassed, you watch as he approaches the seller and strikes up a conversation. After a brief exchange, Hunter returns, flag in hand. "Let's put that theory to the test, shall we?" he suggests with a grin.
"Hunter! Did you just pay for that?" you exclaim incredulously as he shoves the pole into your hand.
"No," he says with a mischievous grin, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "But they said if you can impress them, you can keep it."
You narrow your eyes at him, a mixture of amusement and disbelief dancing in your gaze. "Fine. But I'm warning you," you declare, stepping into a clearing and scanning the area to ensure there's enough space before attempting to recreate a routine you haven't performed in years. "I'm not as good as I used to be."
Taking a deep breath, you grip the pole firmly and let muscle memory take over as you start spinning the flag with practiced precision. The fabric unfurls in vibrant arcs, catching the sunlight and casting colorful patterns across the ground. With each twirl and flourish, you feel a surge of nostalgia as memories of your days in the colour guard come flooding back.
As you continue your impromptu performance, you can't help but lose yourself in the rhythm of the routine, the flag becoming an extension of your body as you spin and swirl with grace.
Hunter is watching you silently and appears to be actually enamoured by your performance. His eyes are wide in surprise.
When you finally come to a graceful finish, you turn to Hunter with a triumphant smile, the flag held aloft in your hand. "How's that for impressing them?" you ask, a hint of pride in your voice.
“That was… wow.” Is all he says, a proud smile on his face. He takes one look to the seller who just gives a brief nod. “And the flag is yours it seems.”
Hunter comes up beside you once more but you feel a tug on your top, turning to face a young child who was holding out credits to you. Bashfully, you accept and the credits swiftly came flooding in.
“Heh, seems like you still got it.” He nudges your side playfully.
This could be a pretty safe way to earn some extra credits it seems.
Tumblr media
Wrecker
"Wrecker, come look at this!" you call out excitedly, beckoning your companion over.
With Wrecker's assistance in tidying up the Marauder and transferring some items to the Remora, you stumble upon an unexpected treasure: an old snare drum tucked away amidst the clutter.
"Woah, what's tha’?" Wrecker asks, intrigued, as he joins you on the floor, his eyes fixed on the instrument in your hands.
"I used to play it in a marching band. Forgot I even had it," you reply with a wistful smile, the memories of your band days flooding back, tinged with nostalgia and a touch of sadness for times gone by.
Wrecker notices the flicker of emotion on your face and decides to lift your spirits. "Well, go on then. Give us a beat," he encourages, nudging the drum closer to you and offering a drumstick.
You smile gratefully, feeling a rush of anticipation as you accept the drumstick from his outstretched hand and pick up the matching one from the ground. "Just so you know," you say with a playful glint in your eye, "it sounds much better in a chorus rather than individually."
With a deep breath, you position the drumsticks in your hands, feeling the familiar weight and texture of the material. Closing your eyes, you let muscle memory guide your movements as you begin to play. The rhythmic tapping of the drum reverberates through the air.
As you lose yourself in the music, your fingers move effortlessly across the drum's surface, producing a lively beat that echoes off the walls of the ship. With each stroke, super fast and then skilfully slow, you feel a sense of liberation.
Wrecker watches in awe, a grin spreading cross his face as he listens to the infectious rhythm you create. For a moment, all worries and cares fade away, replaced by the joy of listening to you play. Flourishing a finish, your cheeks warm to Wrecker applauding enthusiastically.
"Tha’ was amazing!" he exclaims, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "You've still got it."
You grin, feeling a surge of pride at his words. "Thanks, Wrecker," you reply, a sense of contentment washing over you. "Maybe we should start our own band."
“Definitely!”

Tech
"Is this yours?" Omega's voice interrupts your thoughts, drawing your attention to the slim case she's holding. As you approach, a wave of nostalgia washes over you at the sight of the familiar case.
"I haven't seen this for a long time," you smile warmly, taking the case into your hands. Kneeling down, you blow the dust off and flip open the lid, revealing your old clarinet nestled inside.
Omega's eyes widen with curiosity as she peers at the instrument. "Wow, that's cool! Did you play it?"
You nod, a fond smile on your face. "Yeah, I used to. In a colour guard and in parades."
"Can you play something now?" she asks eagerly.
Before you can respond, Omega suddenly calls out, "TECH! COME HERE!"
Tech, engrossed in his data pad, looks up in surprise and heads your way. "What is the nature of my presence this time, Omega?"
Omega launches into an exaggerated explanation of your discovery and her request. "Listen to them play."
Tech adjusts his goggles and looks down at you with curious eyes. "I was not aware you could play any instrument."
"I haven't in a long time," you admit sheepishly, wiping the mouthpiece and adjusting the bridge keys. "But I can give it a try."
With a deep breath, you bring the clarinet to your lips and begin to play a soft, melancholic tune. The notes fill the air, weaving a gentle melody that seems to resonate with the quiet stillness of the surroundings. It was a gentle tune, a stark difference to the ones you played in parades.
As you play, you notice Tech glancing up from his data pad, his expression softening as he listens intently to the music. It's a rare sight to see him so engrossed in something other than his work, and you can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that your music has captured his attention.
By the time you finish the piece, Tech is still watching you, a thoughtful look on his face.
Omega bursts into a loud applause meanwhile Tech smiled at you. “I would not mind you playing that whilst I do some repairs... it’s rather relaxing.”
Tumblr media
Crosshair
“What are you doing?” Crosshair's voice breaks your concentration mid-performance, and you freeze as your arms flail, causing the wooden rifle to slip from your grasp and clatter onto the grass.
You spin to face the clone, feeling a flush of embarrassment creeping up your neck. "I found my old rifle from when I used to perform," you explain quickly, bending down to retrieve the prop. With a flick of your foot, you send it spinning into the air, catching it effortlessly as it falls back down. "Want to see?"
Crosshair eyes the rifle with a hint of intrigue, his skepticism giving way to mild interest. "Perform? Rifles are for shooting. Not messing around with.”
“It’s wood, idiot.” You knock on the equipment before you then shrug, a sheepish grin tugging at your lips. "Anyway, it’s called rifle spinning. I used to do it as part of a routine in a performance group. It's more about coordination and showmanship than anything else. Wanna see?” You ask again.
Crosshair nods slowly, his gaze lingering on the rifle as you twirl it expertly in your hands. He stands back as you shows off your moves and he couldn’t hide the small impressed smirk forming on his lips. "You’re quite impressive I’ll give you that. But don't let it distract you from our mission." The compliment was rare but not one you were going to refuse as you give him a smile of thanks. But, he was right. There were more pressing matters at large.
You chuckle, nodding in agreement as you secure the rifle back in its holster. "Of course not. Just a little trip down memory lane."

Congrats!!! Could I request diamond with Echo???
You Make My World Brighter
Summary: Echo’s not sure why she chose him, but he does know that he’ll love her through everything, if she gives him the chance.
Pairing: TBB Echo x Reader
Word Count: 700
Warnings: None
Prompt: Diamond - Everlasting Love
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: Sorry if this isn't good, I'm fighting a sickness and I tried my best.
Tumblr media
The first time Echo met her, it was when he was still with the 501st. She was an artist who stood toe to toe with General Skywalker and yelled at him for ruining artwork that was older than the entire Jedi Order put together, and then she fussed over the canvas as though it was actually her child.
Even then, Echo thought that she was stunning.
But he was a soldier at war, and she was a civilian who was displaced by the war. A relationship wasn’t possible at the time.
Even if her smile gave him butterflies, and the idea of her favoring anyone else with that smile made him borderline homicidal.
Honestly, Echo never expected to see her again.
So running into her on Pabu was a genuine shock.
He knew that she probably wouldn’t recognize him, they barely had one conversation, after all. And he looks different now.
But she looked him in the eye and called him by name, a delighted smile on her face.
Turns out even after years, after torture, and after the end of the war, her smile still gives him butterflies.
That was months ago, now.
And somehow he managed to claim her as his girlfriend. Or…maybe she claimed him as her boyfriend. Honestly, he’s still not sure. They just started spending time together, and then, one day, they were kissing.
Not that he’s complaining. But there was no conversation.
He kind of wishes that they would talk, though. It would be nice to know where he stands with her. Because she’s everything to him.
His gaze drifts over to her, sprawled on the bed next to him with her nose buried in a sketchbook, and a smile crosses his lips. He loves her so much.
She’s still an artist, but she doesn’t use canvas anymore. Instead she inks her art on people’s skin, and she’s good. Very good. She’s given Hunter three more tattoos, though she was very hesitant about continuing his skeleton tattoo.
As much as Echo would love a tattoo from her, she hasn’t offered. And though he asked, she didn’t say one way or the other if she was willing. He’s hoping that this is just a miscommunication and not her not wanting her art on his body.
“I have it!”
Echo starts at her excited exclamation, “Have what?” He asks, watching as she scrambles to her knees and turns to face him, her sketchbook pressed against her chest.
“Your tattoo design!”
He blinks at her, startled, “You’ve been designing a tattoo for me?”
“Yeah, of course!” She turns the sketchbook so that it’s facing him, “Here, take a look. It’s a very…symbolic tattoo.”
Echo takes the book and motions for her to settle next to him as he scans the picture. It's a very colorful field of flowers. “Can you explain it to me?”
“Mm, sure.” He points to the center of the tattoo, “Forget-Me-Nots, fives of them, one for each member of Domino Squad who was stationed on Rishi,” Echo trails his fingers over the five small blossoms in a field of white, and then follows her finger to the next section, “Two forget-me-nots in a field of blue flowers,” She explains, “You and Fives with the 501st.”
Echo releases a soft laugh, “The same yet different?”
She shrugs, “I never saw you all as being the same.” Her fingers skip to the final part of the tattoo, “A forget-me-not and a rose twined together, settled in a field of hundreds of different flowers.” She favors him with a bright smile, “You and me and Pabu.” She explains.
He blinks at her, soft affection swelling in his chest, “So, does this mean you want to be my girlfriend?”
“I thought I already was?”
“You never specified.” Echo admits, “So I wasn’t sure.”
She hums thoughtfully, and then she reaches out and pulls him down into a kiss, “Then let me be clear. I want to be yours and only yours, for as long as you’ll have me.”
Echo chuckles as he tugs her onto his lap, “So, forever then?”
“Forever doesn’t sound long enough.” She replies against his lips, “But I suppose it’s a good start.”

The Bad Batch and Reuniting After Time Apart (TBB x GN!Reader)
Summary: It is inevitable you will have to spend time away from the Batch, but time apart makes your reunions all the sweeter.
Warnings: Mostly fluff. A little separation anxiety.
-- -- -- -- --
Tumblr media
Hunter
Although Hunter doesn't enjoy being away from you, he accepts that there will be times when it's necessary. When you get back, he greets you with the most endearing smile and a loving embrace. He seems collected on the surface, but deep down he is thrilled to be with you again. He squeezes you more than usual, his kisses linger a few seconds longer, and he can’t take his eyes off you, smiling like a fool when nobody is looking and basking in how his brothers and Omega greet you so warmly upon your return.
On one occasion, you had to leave the group for a couple of months to help a friend. It was the longest you had been away since you had met them, and Hunter was secretly worried, but he trusted in your ability to handle whatever challenges you faced. He had seen your strength and determination countless times, so he just had to be patient. He busied himself with looking after his siblings and making sure they were cared for, silently hoping you would arrive back sooner than expected. Omega was the first to spot you when you returned, and she eagerly rushed over to say hello, followed by her brothers. For the first time, Hunter felt such an overwhelming sense of family and belonging that he had to fight back the tears. To conceal his wet lashes, he embraced you tightly and planted a tender kiss on your lips, welcoming you back, to your home and your family.
Echo
Whenever you have to venture out alone without the team, Echo is determined to remain practical to stave off the rising concern about your safety. He creates a checklist and guides you through the potential dangers and escape plans. Emergency contacts follow the immediate potential perils, as well as call signals and safe spots in each sector of the galaxy. It gets to the point where you can recite them all before he does, finishing with a kiss on his cheek and a promise to stay safe. That is all he needs to settle his concerns, that one little promise. When you're expected to return, he waits for the others to greet you before finding a secluded spot for the two of you to talk in private.
You received a call to attend to pressing matters concerning a loved one. Fortunately, you were able to maintain contact with Echo while away. Each night, as the stars drifted in their rotation, you both snuggled into your beds and talked for hours, sharing how your day had been and counting down the time until you could reunite. Upon the arrival of the much-awaited day, Echo ensured they reached the assigned port early and made extra arrangements to make sure they went unnoticed. You arrived to a whirlwind of smiles and hugs from his siblings, each of them eager to share their recent news and ask about your travels. Echo waited as the tales were exchanged, and once aboard ship, he found you both a private corner to embrace away the distance you had felt for the past few weeks.
Wrecker
Wrecker absolutely despises being away from you, but damn he loves that first sight of you again after time apart. The swell of love that surges through him is only surpassed by the way it feels to have you back in his arms. Without fail, when you reunite, he runs towards you, lifts you off your feet, and spends the rest of the day with a huge grin on his face, unable to resist squeezing you tightly at every opportunity he gets.
A complex mission required you both to split up for a few days, your separate skills needed with the other group. Deprived of any form of communication or assurance of your well-being, Wrecker fell silent, craving your presence and the serenity you always brought. Time seemed to crawl, but finally, you were reunited, and he held you as if you might vanish if he loosened his grip. Back on the ship and in his bunk, he engulfed you with his arms, his cheek touching the crown of your head as you recounted the progress of your mission, and eventually, you both drifted off to sleep, entangled in one another.
Crosshair
Crosshair has a habit of hiding his emotions, but as you become closer, he starts to open up. When you have to go, he withdraws, fearing his brothers will mock him if he admits he misses you. Whenever you're gone, his mood plummets, not to the point of bothering his brothers, but enough for them to take notice. Rather than teasing him as he expects, they encourage him and cheer him up until you return.
During a chaotic mission, with every risk and peril imaginable, you had been split up. You had only just been able to communicate that you were safe before the transmission cut completely. Despite your reassuring message, any calm within Crosshair melted. The mission was irrelevant; his sole focus was on ensuring your safety and he embarked on an almost self-sacrificial fight to find you. The moment he laid eyes on you he wrapped you in a tight embrace that made you fear something terrible had transpired in your absence. He pulled away slightly to place his forehead against yours, unconcerned about his siblings' judgments; the other half of his soul had returned safe and sound, and his family was back together again.
Tech
When you're away, Tech does his best to maintain a sense of normalcy. He occupies himself with his projects until your presence returns and he no longer feels that something is missing inside him. He knows you'll only leave if it's absolutely necessary, and each time he wishes you well and ensures you're prepared, offering a comforting smile as you leave.
You had left to visit some loved ones and would be away for some time. Tech felt fine at first, but after that month mark, he noticed himself growing irritable at the void inside his heart. Rather than letting it defeat him, he seized control and resolved to create something for you. He started making recordings just for you, capturing the tabletop games he played with his siblings during their hyperspace travels and the fascinating planets they explored. It reached the point where he made recordings while tinkering with his latest project on the ship, his voice filled with nostalgia and love, all but whispering those private thoughts into the aether in the hope you might hear them. The night of your return, he shared the recordings he made. When it reached the videos of him talking to himself about how he felt about you, you pulled him closer, smoothing the pads of your thumbs over his cheeks before you kissed him.

Hunter
Despite being the only one out of clone force 99 who’s the average clone trooper height, he still is immensely taller (and broader, to be frank, excluding that little slutty waist) compared to you.
It strokes his ego quite a bit
Maybe a bit more if you like to point it out.
It ties into any sort of praise you shower onto him, really. If you tell him all about how tall and big and strong he is, you’re practically begging for him to pounce on you.
Hunter’s just whipped for you like that.
Despite that, he finds your height to be really cute.
It’s not everything he likes about you, of course, but it just ties it all in; it's just an aspect he adores sometimes.
He tries not to do it anymore because he wants to be helpful, but occasionally he’ll sit back and watch you struggle to reach something high up. The grin that spreads across his face could lift the entire galaxy’s spirits.
If you realize, you put a hand on your hip and pout.
“Really?”
He hides his red face and shakes his head.
“I’m sorry, mesh’la. You just looked so cute.”
When you huff again he reaches for the object you were trying to reach and hands it to you like it was a delicacy on a silver platter.
Whenever you're in a position like that, where your chests almost touched and he looked down at you, you enjoyed going on your tip toes and pecking his chin affectionately.
“I’m adorable, aren’t I?”
Tech
At first, even as you start a relationship with him, it is simply an objective fact about you.
He’ll make slightly offhanded comments about it, but you know he doesn't mean any harm when he says them.
“I should probably handle this instead since it would be easier for me to complete. Considering our heights.”
“Please don’t climb over the shelves, dear. You might hurt yourself.”
Eventually, the comments stop, you don’t really know why.
You do realize though he will always offer help in a situation where you are vertically challenged and his comments aren’t meant to be demeaning.
The height difference between you two, however, shifts from a focus on your height to his.
Tech knew that you gained a sense of enjoyment from the contrast in appearance, but didn’t realize how much you liked it.
And you liked it a lot.
Something about Tech completely towering over you while ever so slightly asserting his intellectual superiority rubs you in all the right places.
You tell him about it, and he tries his best to nod it off. Emphasis on tries.
He subconsciously begins trying to catch you in positions where he’s physically overwhelming; dwarfing your body into his and enveloping you into him wholly.
He doesn't notice hes doing it, but you do; oh you do.
You won't point it out. Both of you get off on his little power trips.
Wrecker
Let’s be real, this man has a raging size kink.
Of course, even if you’re average height or above, you’re minuscule compared to Wrecker. But man, if you’re short, petite, etc.? Wrecker is GONE. Deceased. Done.
He simply will never be able to get over how cute you are.
And maybe you feed into it as well.
Call him ‘big guy’ or give him that doe-eyed look like you’re in awe of a giant overtop you and you won’t walk for the next week.
He gets just a tad bit feral.
Sometimes, he finds it more comedic.
Like when you topple over trying to reach something on a high-up shelf.
You’ve become quite embarrassed about always needing assistance from Wrecker, especially because of all the teasing you’ve gained from his brothers.
So despite him always being fully willing to help at any time, you get a little too flustered for your liking and try to do the tasks yourself.
And yet, this doesn’t solve your problem. You continue to fall straight on your ass every time.
His laughter fills the entire ship.
“I must’ve turned invisible” he toddles over and opens his arms out wide. “Your footstool is right here!”
You can’t help but facepalm.
Other times, he finds it arousing.
Like when you press up against his stomach and chest, your chin resting up so you stared at him with wide eyes.
His whole body could completely swallow you whole in those moments.
How could he not get a boner?
BONUS: You’re small enough to huddle up on his lap and fit your entire body onto him with your arms loosely wrapped around his neck. Yes, those are the best cuddles. Yes, you both fall asleep instantly.
Crosshair
I'm sorry, but if you didn't think Crosshair was gonna tease you, he’s not your man.
On a day he's being especially pesky, every other sentence that comes out of his mouth is commenting on your height.
Crosshair loves seeing you frustrated, he thinks you look cute like that. He's like a schoolboy in that way, but don't say that. He’ll get all pissy and refuse to talk to you for a few hours.
Yep. Definitely a whiny schoolboy.
Will use the top of your head as an armrest and won’t protest if one of his brothers captures a photo of you two in that position.
Even if you're sitting next to each other he’ll find an opportunity to prop an elbow on your shoulder or head. it never fails to make him chuckle darkly to himself.
But if you ask him to help you reach something high up, he’ll do it wordlessly. Save the teasing for after.
if you blush furiously and scold him, he’ll only smirk and if no one else is around, give you a peck on your forehead.
“Can’t stop myself, doll.”
Won't offer help with any vertical challenges despite him being much taller. He’d like to, but in his head, he still thinks that he’ll come out too soft.
He might do it wordlessly and swiftly, even if you don't ask. Perhaps that's his way of showing love.
Echo
He won’t comment on it. Not for a while at least.
This man has had his fair share of body insecurity, and he isn’t so sure if your height is one of yours. He won’t risk that, he cares far too much about you to hurt your feelings inadvertently, or accidentally trigger any association with bad thoughts about yourself with him.
You’re the one to first bring it up, in fact.
It came out when you had started to get a little tipsy at Cid’s, and were talking about the batch’s physiques.
“And Echo, I know there’s wrecker over there but…” you cradled his face and looked up at him with awe, more adoration than he’d ever felt in his life. “You’re just so big and tall… and strong” with your last word, a small, whimpered moan followed.
Oh, if you were only sober enough to notice how his codpiece rubbed against your stomach harder than usual.
Sure, you got some shit from the boys for it the day after when you sobered up, but you didn’t regret saying it.
Finally, you got out of your head and told Echo how much you loved your height difference.
He stumbles a bit at first with your confession, but once the two of you go to continue doing something else, you notice how his chest puffs out just a little bit more and his shoulders are more squared up.
He always used to help you when trying to reach something high up before, but after that day, every time he does it feels so… purposeful.
It kind of is (he’d never admit it though).
He just can’t get your comment out of his mind.
It’s almost feral how kindred his need gets when you look, feel so much smaller than him.
But he’d never say it.
Actions, however, always speak more than words when it comes to Echo.
Rex
Rex is such an act of service guy, c’mon
He’s the kind of guy to always clean up after himself always if he’s around at your place. Does all the gross, menial tasks in the kitchen. If you fall asleep watching something, he’ll turn it off and carry you to bed.
He’s just such a gentleman, you can’t convince me otherwise.
So of course, if you’re more, ahem, vertically challenged than most, he is there.
He’s not the type to hold off on helping you out, like Hunter or Crosshair, but he might make a couple quips after or just randomly through the day.
“You’re so cute like this.”
“Aw, cyare, ‘m sorry you need my help. Can’t imagine living like this every day.”
It's hard to get mad at his comments, though.
Not when he’s always there the second you need him.
Though, when the two of you are more… intimate, the size difference comes into play more.
He doesn’t really have a size kink like Wrecker does, but Rex would be lying if his dick hasn't throbbed seeing the way his hand completely covered yours while going to town.
But he’s just so sweet about it; you’ve seen the way he looks at you in moments like those, with pure awe and revel, it makes you feel so loved and protected.
He could never make you feel otherwise.wise.

Hello friend! I couldn't find any rules for requests on your blog, so hopefully this one's okay, and if not feel free to ignore it!
Would you be okay with doing a little something based on the idea that all five of the bad batch boys realize that they're all in love with their medic reader? Like maybe they all just KNOW that their other brothers feel the same way about the reader and what they do about it? Do they all talk it over in private? do they just silently start trying to one up each other as a secret competition for her heart? Do they maybe go to the reader themselves instead? Or maybe they decide sharing is caring?? I'd love to hear your take on this concept, headcanons or a fic or whatever you're inspired to do with this idea it's all fine by me!
Please and thank you and also I hope you have a good weekend 💗
I have had the BEST time with this ask, and I hope you love it. This is deffo one I could write about from different angles all day long. I love the boys, but they provide more inspiration than I know what to do with, so this is only part 1 😬 if you had something else in mind, don’t hesitate to let me know. you know I’m always down to write about the boys 🥰

The Havoc Marauder was never quiet, and now was no exception. Wrecker’s snores, Tech’s tinkering, Echo’s quiet muttering in his sleep, the barely audible sounds of Hunter fiddling with his knife. But there was a hole of silence in the quilt of sound, and it was shaped like you. It’s been 15 rotations, not that Crosshair’s counting, without your laugh ringing out, without your back popping loudly as you stretched when you woke up, without your voice whispering his name, as you sleepily let him know it was his turn on watch.
The five of them had been together, and they’d never needed or wanted anyone else in their space, on their team. Crosshair hadn’t even wanted you around at first. Wrecker had warmed to you quickly, but of course a pretty thing like you would never need the hard sell with Wrecker. Hunter had been wary of you, but in an effort to keep Wrecker from getting too attached, he’d inadvertently formed his own attachment to your presence. As for Tech and Echo, they’d kept their distance well enough, but your quiet intelligence, and curiosity had drawn them in.
Crosshair had been the holdout. Incensed by every breath you drew in his presence. The way you checked in with him after every mission, as if he needed you poking and prodding him. But when he needed stitches, you’d asked for permission to help him. If he didn’t want you to touch him, you wouldn’t.
“I’d never do anything without your consent. You’re in control here,” you’d said, holding your kit in steady hands, as you waited for his decision. He’d watched you with rapt attention through the mirror, your fingers resting gently against his skin, as you carefully cleaned, stitched up, and bandaged the wound on his shoulder.
After that, he would silently request your assistance when he needed it, and over time even when he didn’t need it. He would never say it out loud, but bacta patches placed by your gentle hands worked better. Your stitches were nearly painless. And the way you’d hum while you worked…well, that was just adorable.
When Commander Cody had requested you for a short stint, Wrecker had grumbled endlessly, and Crosshair had been the first to tell him to suck it up because you’d be back in their hair soon enough. He needed the space to clear his head, and he hoped the others would come to their senses without you in their presence.
Wrecker admitted to missing you within 12 hours. Tech kept finding excuses to talk about you. Meanwhile Hunter and Echo kept pointing out things you would like, and setting them aside for you. They had also placed bets on when Crosshair would snap and march onto the Negotiator to steal you back. Not that they would be upset if he did.
When it became clear that Crosshair would rather eat his armor than admit to being the least bit interested in you, the four of them had dragged him into the cockpit to decide what they would do when you returned. The feelings were there, and they weren’t going anywhere, but how to proceed.
“We should just come out and say it!” Wrecker said, feeling like the matter was concluded.
“It needs to be a tad more romantic than that,” Echo said shaking his head.
“According to my observations of her, she would appreciate a romantic gesture,” Tech said.
“Flowers?” Wrecker offered.
“She deserves more than flowers for putting up with us,” Echo said laughing.
“We could make a stop on her home world. It’s not too far out of the way,” Hunter added. “I think she’d like that.”
“This is a waste of time,” Crosshair said rolling his eyes. “You’re fooling yourselves.”
“When have Hunter’s senses ever been wrong?” Tech asked not even bothering to look up. “According to what he’s told me, she’s at the very least physically attracted to us. Based on her behavior that extends to an emotional bond as well.”
“What happened to not getting attached?” Crosshair challenged, and his brothers all looked at each other before looking back at him.
“You know you’re not as subtle as you think, Crosshair,” Echo said.
“And if I can tell how anyone’s feeling, it’s the four of you,” Hunter added.
“You’re all delusional,” Crosshair said shaking his head.
“You had her put a bacta patch on your arm last mission, and you coulda done it yourself,” Wrecker said giving the sniper a playful shove.
“She is our medic, she should at least pretend to do a job around here,” Crosshair said defensively. It was a losing battle, and he knew it. The others were blissfully under your spell, but he was not about to let you hurt him. Not about to let you reject him. No matter how badly he wanted you.
But as the clock rolled into the 16th rotation without you, it was Crosshair who hated your absence more than anyone. The others were open about it in their own ways, but he held it close. It was one of the few secrets he’d kept from his brothers. The realization annoyed him, as he swung his long legs over the side of his bunk to take over on watch for Hunter.
Sensing the tension rolling off of his younger brother, Hunter cleared his throat.
“She’ll be back in 2 rotations, and you’ll get to sleep longer again.” He knew it wasn’t sleep Crosshair was after, but it was the best way to let him know you were on your way back without suggesting the sniper actually missed you lest they wind up in another argument.
“Oh good, the little doctor will be back to baby Wrecker again, and you can all confess your love, and live happily ever after,” Crosshair sneered, but Hunter knew him well. There was no bite in his tone, and his face was more relaxed than Hunter had seen it since you waved goodbye and disappeared into the Negotiator.
“She just commed to see if we could pick her up before our next mission, and I almost said no,” Hunter said absently, as Crosshair dropped into the co-pilot’s seat. It wasn’t true, but he could hear Crosshair’s heart racing, his teeth grinding in frustration.
“I thought you were dying to have her back,” Crosshair bit out.
“Well, Cody’s really wanting to keep her, and it would be a great opportunity for her,” This part was true, but he knew he shouldn’t tease his brother this way even though he was sure whatever doubt your absence hadn’t wiped out, would be obliterated by jealousy.
“Commander Cody has a squad of medics. He doesn’t need her,” Crosshair replied, scoffing. The thought of Cody trying to tempt you away from them with a Star Destroyer and a Jedi annoyed Crosshair down to his bones. You wouldn’t be swayed by a big ship, and fancy toys. Would you?
“You’ve got a point,” Hunter began before putting the last nail in the coffin. “He doesn’t need her…maybe he just wants her.”
He could hear Crosshair’s heart thumping wildly, as he tried to maintain his composure.
“Doubt it,” Crosshair grumbled after several moments spent working to unclench his jaw.
“Guess we’ll find out,” Hunter said, rising from the pilot’s chair. “The call’s recorded, so you can watch it, and see for yourself.”
“I’m sure she’ll never shut up about it when she’s back,” Crosshair said dismissively.
Humming softly with a shrug, Hunter said good night, and left Crosshair alone. The sharpshooter waited until he was sure Hunter was asleep before playing your conversation.
As your form appeared, bathed in blue, a smile tugged at Crosshair’s lips. Had you always been this beautiful?
“Hi, Sarge! It’s so good to see you. I’ve missed you boys like crazy,” you nearly moaned.
He’d never heard you make a sound like that. He immediately thought of you making that sound just for him, which annoyed him, but he couldn’t stop listening.
“We miss you too, cyar’ika. I’m sure you’re having fun though,” Hunter replied.
“It’s been nice to stretch my legs a bit and put some of the things I’ve learned to use. Commander Cody’s amazing…he’s uh, asked me if I want to stay on,” You look shy, nervous.
“Oh, is that uh, something you’re interested in?”
“Don’t get me wrong the Negotiator is spectacular, and I’ve enjoyed my time with the 212th,” you bite your lip, shifting your weight. You seem unsure if you should continue. After a moment, you pressed on, “but they’re missing a few things I can’t live without, so I’d like to come home, back to the Marauder I mean.”
“We’ll be glad to have you back,” Hunter replied.
“Good,” You look so relieved. “I haven’t stopped thinking about you boys since I left. Are you getting enough quiet time? Are Tech and Echo sleeping? Is Wreck staying out of trouble? Is Cross eating properly?”
Crosshair barely hears the rest of conversation because he can’t get past the part where you miss them, where you were worried about him.
“I’ll be all packed up and ready to go in two rotations. Do you mind coming to get me?” Your needy tone shakes Crosshair out of his thoughts. “I could get a shuttle, but it would take another rotation or two, and I don’t think I can wait that long.”
Crosshair realized he couldn’t either. He needed you back immediately. Sooner, really.
“Of course, doll,” Hunter says soothingly. “Two rotations, and we’ll be there.”
Reassured, your shoulders relax, “Wonderful! I can’t wait to see all of you! I’m sure Crosshair has enjoyed the break from me, but I’ve missed him so much. I miss all of you, Hunter.” Your voice is so tender, it makes his heart clench.
He had not enjoyed the break at all though. Between his brothers giving him a hard time, and wanting you back, he was miserable.
Two rotations. It wouldn’t be long now.
***
Crosshair’s leg was bouncing, as the Marauder docked with the Negotiator. You were so close, almost home.
The five of them boarded the Star Destroyer, and Crosshair’s eyes began searching for you immediately. Cody was there to greet them, grasping Hunter’s arm in welcome.
“Good to see you, Commander,” Hunter said warmly.
“Good to see you too, Sergeant,” Cody began, “I’m not going to lie, I tried to keep your medic. She’s brilliant, and the men adore her.”
“Of course they do,” Wrecker’s pride in you is evident.
“She said the Negotiator was missing a few necessities,” Cody quirked an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“She’s quite mistaken. The Havoc Marauder is not equipped with even 10% of what a Republic Venator has,” Tech says, brow furrowed.
“It doesn’t have Gonky,” Wrecker said as though it were obvious.
“It doesn’t have the five of you either!” you quipped, appearing at Cody’s elbow.
“Cyar’ika!” Wrecker bellowed, scooping you up and spinning you around.
“Wrecker!” you squealed as you returned his hug as tightly as you could
Crosshair’s heart was pounding again. He waited at the back of the group, watching his brothers welcome you back. Pressing their foreheads to yours, ghosting their fingers over your jaw, holding the back of your head gently. Then you were standing in front of him. Arms clasped behind your back, not reaching for him as you had the others. Respecting his space as always.
“I’m happy to see you too, Cross. Ready to deal with me every day again?”
“Are you ready to deal with me? All of us, again?”
“Ready and looking forward to it!” Your smile is bright and he nearly reached for you then, but he stopped himself.
“Well, Commander, you know where to find us, if you need us…or our medic again,” Hunter said with a grin.
“It was an honor serving alongside the 212th, Commander. I appreciate the opportunity,” You saluted Cody, and the others followed suit.
“The pleasure was all ours,” Cody returned the salute, and watched as the six of you returned to the Marauder.
***
You’re getting settled back into your space on the Marauder, answering questions from Wrecker, curious about the armory and ordnance, and Tech pestering you for every detail about the Negotiator, as Echo and Hunter wait to get a word in edgewise.
“Come on, boys. Give her some breathing room,” Hunter says, scooting them towards the cockpit, ignoring their protests.
“It’s good to have you back, saraad,” Echo said with a soft smile, that made your heart skip a beat.
You smile fondly at them as they go, going back to unpacking your things, and changing.
Crosshair is in his bunk, pretending he’s not watching you, but he can’t focus on anything else. Every inch of skin you reveal is making his body react. His heart thumping, breath growing shallow, as he drinks you in. This isn’t even the first time he’s seen you naked or changing, but it feels different now. He frowns as he notices a bandage on your hip peaking out of your panties, wrapping around your hip. It’s covered swiftly by the bottom half of a fresh set of blacks.
He slid out of his bunk, and you turned to face him, as you pulled the top half down covering your stomach, hiding your skin from his gaze. Naturally, you stepped back to give him space, and you were pleasantly surprised when he deliberately stepped closer. You looked up at him expectantly, eyes searching his for any hint of what he’s up to.
Crosshair was sure he should say something, but his mind was only offering sardonic quips that would convey the truth, but not like he wanted. He lifted a hand, and tapped your hip softly, fingertips resting against you. This was the first time Crosshair had ever touched you without necessity. Your heart sped up, and you swallowed hard.
“What’s this?” he asked, his voice low and even.
“Rooftop sniper,” you shook your head, folding your arms. “One of the other medics wasn’t as lucky. He was still in the med bay when you came to pick me up. No one could have clocked him to be fair.”
“I could have,” Crosshair said, anger simmering under his even tone.
“Well, there’s only one Crosshair in the galaxy. Next time I leave, I’ll take you with me.” You smiled up at him, but his face held the frown.
“Hey, I’m ok. Still good to do my job,” you added, brow furrowing.
“Fucking regs,” He swore, as he shifted his hand to hold your hip gently like you were a fragile thing. A fragile thing that belonged to him.
You hesitated before resting your hand against his chest, tapping your fingertips against the plastoid.
“Cross, I’m home, and in one piece. How can I show you?”
An eyebrow raised at that, sharp eyes taking you in, lingering on your lips, as they parted, a silent invitation for him. He leaned down, bringing his lips close to yours, begging you to close the distance. You wrapped your arms around his trim waist, as you pressed your lips to his softly.
The ache that had been simmering in his chest since you left is morphing into arousal, moving to settle down in his belly. His lips moved tentatively against yours, teeth nipping gently at your bottom lip.
“Hey,” Wrecker protested loudly. “We agreed we’d all talk to her together, Crosshair!”
The two of you break apart, and you clear your throat, your eyes trained on Crosshair.
“Talk to me about what?” You asked, breathlessly.
“Sorry, doll,” Crosshair said before Wrecker tugged him away in a headlock.
“What are you gonna talk to me about?” you asked again.
“When we get home, cyar’ika,” Wrecker said before turning to Crosshair. “Knew you were full of it, Cross!”
You touch your lips, as you watch the pair of them playfully fighting down the corridor. Did that happen? You pinched your arm as hard as you could, grimacing when it hurt, confirming you were awake, Crosshair had just kissed you. What the hell happened while you were gone? And what did they need to talk to you about?
***
In the cockpit on watch, you relaxed in the copilot’s chair, Tech snoozed gently in the pilot’s chair. It was so good to be home despite the fact that there was clearly something going on with your boys. Your alarm beeped, and you rose from the chair, yawning and stretching ready to trade out with Crosshair, and pass out for a little while.
Hunter intercepted you in the hallway with a grin. “I can’t sleep, so I’ll cover for Crosshair. Go get some rest.” He kissed your forehead, and added, “Good to have you home, Doc.”
“Good to be home, Sarge,” you replied before bidding him goodnight, and heading towards your bunk.
“Hunter?” You turn towards him.
“Hmm?” Hunter asks turning to you.
“What happened while I was gone? Why’s everyone acting weird?”
“We’ll talk when we get back to Kamino. Get some rest,” He says with a mysterious grin that makes you bite your lip.
You pout but follow his orders and head to your bunk. You’re about to climb in when you look towards Crosshair’s bunk. He was the least likely to spill the beans, but he had kissed you earlier. Was that the big secret?
You moved to stand near Crosshair’s bunk. Pushing back the privacy curtain, you whispered his name like you normally would to wake him up for his shift.
“My turn already?” he replied sleepily.
“No, Hunter’s there. I was hoping we could talk about earlier, or we could just sleep,” Even after your encounter earlier, he still made you nervous, and you worried you’d made a mistake until he lifted the blankets, and silently invited you into his bed.
You crawled in, and he lowered the blanket over your body before snaking his arm around your waist and pushing his leg between yours. His muscular thigh pressed up against you, sending a wave of heat through your body. He tucked your head beneath his chin, and it became clear he was not saying a word, so you listened to his heartbeat until you were lulled to sleep.
When you woke up a few hours later, you realized that you hadn’t slept well at all while you were gone. You needed to be crammed into the Marauder with your squad to relax. It helped that Crosshair had held you the entire time, and as you stretched and arched your back you realized he was looking at you.
“Did you sleep well?” you asked quietly not wanting to disturb the others. He simply nodded, his eyes roaming your face, as his hand rested on your waist.
“Good. We should be home soon, yeah?” you asked, rolling onto your back before sitting up.
“Something like that,” Crosshair replied cryptically.
You didn’t bother asking what he meant before sliding out of the bunk, and tossing him a smile.
“I’m going to see where we are. Go back to sleep.”
Once again he nodded, but he knew there was no chance of going back to sleep. Not when he knew what they had planned for the day.
You wandered into the cockpit, taking the co-pilot’s seat next to Echo.
“How was your first night back?” Echo asked smiling as you got comfortable in the chair.
“Cozy. I didn’t realize how much I’d miss you guys until I was gone.”
“I don’t think we did either,” he confesses.
“Oh yeah?” You asked, trying not to seem too happy about it.
He nodded, and the two of you were quiet for a moment. As always silence was never awkward with Echo, and while this was no exception, you could feel a tension in the air. It was reminiscent of the one you’d felt the night before when Crosshair had kissed you.
“I don’t suppose I can get you to tell me what’s going on?” You asked, turning the chair towards him and leaning forward.
“Always so impatient, saraad,” Echo says shaking his head.
“I can’t help it. Something’s up. Crosshair has been sweet to me,” you add in a conspiratorial whisper.
Echo huffs out a short laugh.
“Oh has he now?”
“Yeah, and,” you hesistate. You want to keep going, to spill every thought in your head to Echo, but something’s got your tongue. “It’s nothing.” You turn your chair back into place, and ask, “Where are we? How far from home?”
Reluctantly, Echo tears his gaze away from you. He looks over the navicomputer.
“Not far.”
“You wanna get some sleep? I can get us to Kamino safely.”
He raises an eyebrow at that.
“Ok, I can get us there. No promises on the condition,” you concede.
“You’re meant to be resting. Crosshair told us what happened,” Echo trails off.
“I told you he was being sweet to me, but I guess a kiss is a little more than sweet…”
“Kiss?! I meant you getting shot!” Echo hisses trying not to wake the others, as he spins towards you.
“He told you about that?!” You hiss back, spinning towards him.
“Of course he did. Why didn’t you?”
“I didn’t wanna worry you guys. Cross was not happy when he saw the bandage, and…”
“Of course he wasn’t. And I’m not happy you didn’t tell us. We could have lost you,” Echo’s eyes are worried, his brow knit together, as he reaches for your face.
His fingertips have just brushed your jaw when the cockpit opens, and the pair of you sit back and look towards the door.
“You’re supposed to be resting,” Hunter says, gesturing for you to follow him.
“I was,” you pout. “I just wanted to see if we were close to home.”
“That’s funny because it sounded like you were arguing about keeping your injury a secret,” Hunter says. Out of everyone on the ship, you never thought Crosshair would be the one to tell on you.
“No, I was just…trying to…ya know?”
“No, I don’t know, senaar’ika. Now get in your bunk and rest your eyes. I’ll wake you the moment we land.”
“Fine,” you relent, and climb into your bunk, and even your racing brain can’t keep you awake.

First Kiss || The Bad Batch
Tumblr media
Synopsis - Your first kiss with the members of The Bad Batch.
Warnings - SFW.
Word Count - 1.5k.
[Caffeinate Me]
Tumblr media
HUNTER had saved your skin yet again. It was becoming a regular thing now, Hunter saving you from yourself. So-much-so that if you had made up a tally of all the times Hunter had saved you, you’d definitely be in double digits. You sighed a sigh of relief and turned around to thank him, only to be met with his lips on yours. You ‘hmphed’ into the kiss as you were taken by surprise, only for Hunter to press his lips further into you, deepening the kiss. When Hunter showed no signs of pulling away from you, you relaxed into his body and your eyes fluttered closed. The two of you stayed like that for a few moments, kissing with pure need, almost as if your lives depended on it. When he pulled away, Hunter grinned at you and gave you a sly wink forcing your face to heat up. “What was that for?” You asked, smiling widely.
“Just think of it as an incentive to stop you from almost dying on me all the time,” Hunter replied as he moved his body away from yours and turned his attention back to the mission at hand. “There’s more where that came from if you stay alive.”
“Sir, yes sir,” you saluted, watching as he walked away with a dumb smile on your face.
Tumblr media
CROSSHAIR sat in the corner of his barracks on Kamino as Omega and the other members of The Batch came up with an escape plan. He placed his head in his hands as he tried to process the situation. The newly formed Galactic Empire had left you all to die on Kamino as they blew the place to smithereens, after all he’d done for the Empire so far and this is how they repay him? You excused yourself from The Batch and sat down next to Crosshair in the corner, your eyes heavy with sadness. “If we don’t make it out of this, I want you to know that despite everything, I still love you,” you whispered, without looking at him. Crosshair was taken back by your statement and looked at you with confusion, his heart fluttering in his chest. He had tried to kill you and you were saying that you loved him? He couldn’t quite process what was going on as you scooted up to sit next to him, your knees touching. Throwing caution to the wind, you quickly cupped his face in your hands and kissed him softly, closing your eyes as you melted into his lips. For a few seconds, it was nice to pretend like your life wasn’t in danger and that Crosshair wasn’t the bad guy. He thought for a moment before kissing you back, his lips moving in tandem with your own easily as his hands went to rest on your hips. When you pulled away, you stared into Crosshair's eyes hoping that you had gotten through to him with your kiss.
“That was nice,” he mumbled softly, his gaze dropping down from your eyes to your lips. You nodded in response before standing up and making your way back over to The Batch to talk about an escape plan. Crosshair was even more conflicted now: does he continue being a good soldier and follow orders, or does he leave the Empire to be with you?

TECH watched as you fumbled around the cockpit, unsure of what to do. You had never been techy and weren’t very good at helping repair the ship so you often just pottered around. You weren’t exactly sure what you brought to The Batch sometimes and it often left you feeling rather insecure. “Y/N, just leave the repairs to Echo and I,” Tech huffed. “Things will go a lot smoother if you don’t mess around.”
“I’m sorry Tech,” you mumbled. You sat down in the pilot's seat and looked on as Tech continued the repairs needed. You were fascinated by his curious mind and the way he worked, you couldn’t deny that.
“Y/N?” Tech asked. “Are you okay? You’re staring at me. Is something wrong?” You snapped back into reality at Tech’s voice and blushed before looking away, mumbling a ‘sorry’ under your breath.
Tech stopped his repairs, eyes narrowing on you as he focused his attention to your bouncing leg. He walked over to you and held out his hand for you to take, which reluctantly you did. You were pulled to your feet and flushed dangerously close to Tech’s body. You looked deep into his eyes as he searched yours for any signs of resistance. When you didn’t move away from him, Tech took it upon himself to slowly and shakily lean in and graze his lips softly against yours. His eyes remained open as he watched the emotions flash across your face. When you closed your eyes and leaned into the kiss, Tech did the same, finally feeling comfortable. When you pulled away from Tech’s lips, you breathed heavily out of embarrassment. “What was that for?” You asked dreamily.
“You looked distracted. I was simply just trying to help you,” Tech cleared his throat and watched as you nodded before turning his attention back to the repairs at hand. You stood still, as if frozen, for a few seconds with your fingers trailing across your lips. He was right, you were distracted, but now you were even more distracted than before.

ECHO had been insecure ever since his rescue from Skako Minor. He often found himself thinking about what his life would have been like had he not been a Separatist project, and sometimes he even found himself wishing he had died at the Citadel. Echo found himself unable to sleep and quietly got up and made his way into the cockpit, hoping to keep himself busy with something to do on the ship. He had been so engrossed in what he was doing, he hadn’t heard your tiny footsteps following him. “Echo, are you okay?” You asked, sleepily rubbing your eyes.
Echo turned to look at you, his face white. He looked as if he had been caught doing something he shouldn’t. When he realised it was just you, he nodded and smiled softly. “I just can’t sleep,” he replied. “What are you doing up?” He asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Heard you get up,” you mumbled. “Wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“I’m fine,” he whispered back. You found yourself walking up to him and wrapping your arms around his waist, something you did regularly when the two of you were alone. Echo felt his heart hammer against his chest and you turned him around to face you. Without thinking, Echo leaned into your touch and sighed happily. Whenever you were around, he always felt complete. “You should go back to sleep.”
“Not without you,” you smiled up at him. Echo was about to protest but you pressed your lips to his softly, silencing him. His eyes went wide when he realised your lips were on his, but he was quick to relax as your lips began to move against his own. His lips, like his body, were cold to the touch, but you were quick to warm them up. Your tongue ran along his bottom lip and Echo felt his face set on fire. When you finally pulled away, you gave Echo a grin and pecked his lips once more. “Let’s get some sleep, eh?”
Tumblr media
WRECKER watched as you cleaned the ship. You weren’t much useful on missions so you made yourself useful back on the ship by doing ‘housework’. Wrecker admired you as you continued your cleaning spree, watching the way your eyes narrowed and your lips pursed as you grumbled about the dust around you. “I literally cleaned this space two days ago!” You cried loudly, scrunching your nose up. Wrecker chuckled at your reaction and smiled at your cuteness. When you had finished dusting, you turned to Wrecker to ask for some assistance when you slipped over something on the floor and landed flat on his lap. You looked up at him with wide eyes, absolutely mortified. “Wrecker, I’m so sorry!”
“Don’t be,” Wrecker laughed loudly, his hands resting on your hips.
Everything, from that moment, happened in slow motion. You found yourself staring into his eyes before slowly closing the gap between your faces. You weren’t sure what had come over you, but you kissed Wrecker slowly, earning a groan from the giant clone. He immediately kissed you back passionately as your lips met, something he had been dying to do for weeks now. You sat up on his lap pushing your lips further against his, desperate for more. Wrecker chuckled into your lips before he pulled away leaving you completely breathless. With his hands still planted firmly on your hips, Wrecker helped you stand up. “T-Thank you,” you whispered softly, biting your bottom lip.
“Don’t mention it,” Wrecker smiled at you. You sighed before bending down to pick up what you had fallen over: Lula. Wrecker’s eyes widened when he saw his stuffed toy in your hand and grinned. “My Lula!”
You chuckled and passed Lula to Wrecker with a soft smile on your lips. Wrecker thanked you with another quick kiss before pulling away and walking to his bunk, leaving you standing there dumbfounded. Your fingers traced your lips as you watched Wrecker walk away cuddling Lula and you felt your heart flutter. You hoped you’d get another opportunity to kiss him again.

Kibo and Kisses
Taking a breather on a remote planet after working yet another job for Cid, Echo steals away with you for a moment.
Pairing: Echo x f!reader
Word count: 3.3k
Warnings: cuteness, sweetness, fluff, Echo is self-conscious but we love him, eavesdropping brothers, idiots in love, first kiss, pet names/nicknames, brief mention of Fives (who else was Echo going to learn some moves from?)
Translations: Uj’ika – kinda like ‘cupcake’
Tumblr media
He was sweet behind all the gruffness and bad puns. If anything, it just added to his charm. War changed many men, and being kept prisoner, body altered without consent, and mind used to defeat your brethren? Yeah, that would undoubtedly change a man.
You wouldn’t think it, though, watching Echo listen intently to Omega’s story, laughing at the right moments and nodding to encourage her to continue. She only had a handful of stories, late-night tales Nala Se used to tell her back on Kamino, but she could remember them like the back of her hand, and once she grew tired of the boy’s war stories and the ones about your childhood, she would share hers.
You’d lost track of how long you’d been roaming the galaxy with Omega and the boys. Cid had insisted you accompany them on a mission, and that mission rolled to two and then to three…
Shaking your head fondly, a sigh slipped from between your lips. The Trandoshan had given you such a sly smile when she’d shoved you onto a ship with four charming men and a cute kid.
“He’s not going to disappear, you know.” Warmth blossomed in your chest as Hunter sat next to you on the crudely made wooden bench you’d fashioned shortly after landing two rotations ago on Yavin 4. While the boys had armour to protect their behinds from the damp grass, you and Omega didn’t have that luxury.
“Don’t know what you mean.” You lied, tilting your head to meet the Sergeant’s gaze, squinting a little as the setting sun dared to blind you.
“Mhm.” The corners of Hunter’s lips quirked up in amusement, but he refrained from pushing his point too far. Watching you moon over his brother from afar was adorable and frustrating that you were too stubborn and anxious to do anything about it. “What story is Omega telling this time?” He switched topics, noting how the tension melted slightly from your shoulders.
“You’re the one with the enhanced hearing, you tell me.” You rocked to the side, lightly nudging Hunter’s arm with your shoulder. You’d grown up with a brother, and though the war had taken him from you, it had also graced you with a few new ones.
Turning your gaze back to Echo and Omega, you waited as Hunter tuned in to their conversation. At first, his ability to eavesdrop from afar had caught you off guard, forcing you to switch to your mother tongue when quietly cussing anyone on the ship out. Still, you found amusement in using it to your advantage, twisting Hunter’s arm until he would eavesdrop on gossiping women in marketplaces or creepy men with lousy pick-up lines in cantinas.
“It’s not a Nala Se special.” He admitted, eyebrows rising closer to his hairline as Echo’s laughter filled the tiny clearing Tech had set the Marauder down in. “Did you tell someone that you prefer they take you for dinner before calling you names?”
The colour drained from your face, and your jaw slackened. “Oh no.” You squeaked, wide eyes watching the way Echo’s whole frame shook with laughter, while Omega grinned, oblivious to the true meaning behind the comeback you’d snapped at the rude market attendant the last time you’d touched down for supplies.
Turning your gaze to Hunter, his thinly veiled amusement had you stammering out an explanation. “A- A fruit vendor wasn’t looking where he was going. He walked into us. His goods went everywhere. He called me some choice names; I told him I preferred dinner beforehand – it slipped out before I could stop it. Oh, Maker, you think Omega knows what I meant?”
Allowing himself to chuckle at the horror on your face, Hunter stood, bringing a large hand down to land on your shoulder. “I hope not but try not to make such comments around the innocent child next time. I don’t think any of us are ready to have that talk with her yet.” He shook his head in disbelief, smile firmly in place as he retreated onto the ship.
“Omega.” You called out, desperately hoping to stop her from telling any more stories before she embarrassed you further.
Your voice drew the young girl’s attention, and with a quick wave of your hand, she came racing across the clearing, stopping right in front of you. Echo trailed behind her, his pace much more languid. “What is it?” Omega offered you a sweet smile, rocking on the spot with her hands locked behind her back.
“It’s getting dark, and we should head inside.” You gestured to the setting sun, which had dropped a little further towards the horizon since you’d first sat down to watch Omega and Echo.
Frowning, the young clone glared at the sun before returning her smile to you. “But you and Echo are out here with me.” She retorted, tampering down her grin as she watched Echo sit beside you on the bench, his knee lightly knocking against yours.
Grateful he couldn’t hear your heart hammering away at the physical contact, you bit down on the inside of your lip. “I know, but it’s bedtime.” You insisted. You tried to keep a routine for her, conscious that she was young and growing. Omega never skipped a meal, even if it meant you did on the quiet, and where possible, she got eight hours of sleep.
“I’m not tired.” Omega’s smile turned to a pout. She wasn’t ready for the evening to end.
“It’s been a long day. You’ll fall asleep as soon as you’re in bed and have Lula.” Echo chimed in, catching how your shoulders relaxed as he took the reins. He enjoyed that you mothered Omega, offering her one of the things that they had been deprived of. But he also knew how difficult it could be, especially when the child in question wasn’t your own. There were invisible boundaries to negotiate and rules to establish, but whenever he felt you might need a helping hand, he was more than willing to step up. Sometimes, it was good to remind himself that Omega was still a child, even if she was older than him and his brothers.
Shooting Echo a thankful smile, you returned your focus to the quiet girl before you. She looked to be contemplating Echo’s words. It was time for the big guns. “Besides, you’ll need plenty of energy if we’re going to track down a Ysalamiri tomorrow.”
Omega’s face lit up brighter than the suns of Tatooine. “We’re going to go and find one?” She gasped. When you’d landed, Tech had pulled out his datapad to research the planet. He’d found a list of native plants and animals, pointing out which ones to avoid. Omega had caught sight of the Ysalamiri and loved the non-threatening, furry creatures.
“Yep, so you’ll need your sleep. They’re fast and live in the trees, so we might need to do some climbing.” You explained, silently praying Hunter wasn’t actively listening to the conversation. He would have a fit if he knew you’d scramble amongst the branches, but it was part of a normal childhood.
“Will you come too, Echo?” Omega swung her wide gaze to her brother, pleading for him to join them.
Eyes widening as he was put on the spot, Echo stalled for a moment. He’d told Tech that he would help him perform maintenance on the ship in the morning, but was he about to give up the chance to explore with you? “Sure.” He decided, knowing he’d have to break the news to Tech. His brother could maintain the ship alone, but Echo didn’t want him to bear the weight alone. “I’d be more than happy to escort my favourite girls.” It slipped out before he could stop it, and he studiously kept his eyes on Omega, ignoring the weight of your soft gaze on his profile.
“I’ll go to bed then.” Omega declared, conceding with a grin that had you narrowing your eyes in her direction. What was going on in that young girl’s mind?
Opening his arms, Echo accepted Omega’s goodnight hug. It had taken a short while for him to grow accustomed to the action – a shoulder thump was the usual level of affection his brothers gave, and he was conscious that his cybernetics made everything uncomfortable and awkward. Sometimes he wondered if he could swap his scomp out for a proper arm and hand, but they didn’t have the credits or time to purchase and make such adjustments.
Omega threw herself into your arms after hugging her brother, giving you a tight squeeze before she bounded into the Marauder, leaving you with Echo.
“If you’d rather have a girl’s day tomorrow, that’s okay. I know you and Omega enjoy your time together.” Echo broke the momentary silence. As much as he wanted, no yearned, to join you tomorrow, he would respect your decision. You and Omega didn’t get much time to explore marketplaces or local fairgrounds together, and he would hate to take that from you.
“I’d love for you to come with us.” You stated, reaching up to tuck an errant strand of hair behind your ear.
Echo wasn’t entirely convinced. “You sure?” He gave you one last out. “Feels like you haven’t wanted to be around me lately. You left the cockpit quickly the other day when we swapped watch.” He added dejectedly, shrugging his shoulders as if he didn’t care.
Your heart ached, and your mind berated you. You’d just wanted a little space to determine whether your adoration for the man at your side was genuine or forged because you lived in each other’s pockets. Some hypothetical questions had been posed to Tech, your confidence in the man’s research capabilities unquestionable, and done a lot of soul searching.
Reaching out for him, your hand found purchase on his scomp, and though he couldn’t feel anything from the rigid metal, you still gave him a gentle squeeze. “Ecks.” The nickname slipped out quickly as you scooted closer, registering the flicker of surprise across his face at the new name. “I’m sorry, I’ve had much on my mind lately. You didn’t do or say anything wrong; it was just me getting stuck in my head.” You explained. “Of course, I want to be around you, and I’d love for you to come with us tomorrow.”
The frown creasing Echo’s brow disappeared at your reassurance, but your words kept playing over in his mind. What have you been thinking about? Could he help ease the weight of it, if only for a little while? “You should probably rest too then, uj’ika, if we’re to keep up with Omega. And don’t tell me you’re not tired. You yawned twice when Hunter was handing out rations.” Echo chided. You might’ve thought you were being subtle, but from the vantage point of his bunk, Echo could see the faint glow of your datapad screen each night as you stayed up late.
The term of endearment made you smile, but you were still none the wiser about the meaning. The first time Echo had used it, Wrecker had given a hearty chuckle, Hunter and Tech shooting you amused smiles before glancing at each other – communicating in that silent way only the Batch boys could. With Hunter’s words from earlier playing through your mind, you took a small leap of faith. “I should, but I was thinking about going for a small walk – want to join me?” You offered, rising to your feet and offering the sweet man before you your hand.
Echo hesitated. He wanted to go with you, Maker, he did, but he was supposed to be on watch with Tech. “Go.” Tech’s voice clipped through his cybernetic headpiece, and Echo gladly placed his hand in your own, rising to his feet as he watched the momentary confusion marring your features smooth into a beautiful smile.
Tinkering with the ship’s engine, Tech had heard the entire exchange between you and his vod. It took only two taps on his vambrace to isolate Echo’s comms and deliver the instruction. While some assistance would’ve been helpful, and another set of eyes for the watch was optimal, ensuring his brother’s happiness was back on track and your anxiety levels lowered would be better for the group.
Letting you lead, Echo savoured the warmth of your hand in his, the way your fingers curled to grasp him tightly, and how you brought your other hand over to clutch at his forearm, suffocating all space between you. Fleetingly, he was grateful that you’d grabbed hold of his arm and not his scomp. “We shouldn’t go too far; we have no idea what could be out here.” He warned as you approached the edge of the clearing.
Shoulders shaking with your small laugh, you turned to stand in front of Echo, letting go of his forearm in the process. “You’re right, but I know I’m safe with you.” There had been some close calls over the last few missions, but Echo had been behind you, blaster in hand. He always had your back.
The softness of your words and the way you smiled at him took everything for Echo not to stride forward and steal his first kiss. Were you even aware of the effect you had on him? How his heart raced, and how he sometimes struggled to find the right words? “Always.” He vowed. His body had been through plenty. What was another blaster shot if it meant keeping you safe?
The distant look was back in Echo’s eyes; the one you knew meant he was lost in thought. “Come on.” You gently prompted, moving to his right to loop your arm through his, fingers resting on his scomp.
“The other side would be comfier for you.” Echo swallowed, highly aware of how unforgiving his altered arm was. His first few weeks with the Batch had been spent relearning how to fight, sleep comfortably, eat, and wash himself. He’d sometimes wondered if it would be easier not to have the scomp.
Shrugging, you lightly pulled him forward, starting your journey into the tree line. “I like this side too.” You reassured him. “I like all of you.” You took a leap, throwing the comment out into the open, avoiding Echo’s gaze as you moved nimbly through the woods, avoiding the mighty trees that stretched up to the sky. At the same time, the crisp crunch of fallen leaves and the sweet music of local birds provided a beautiful soundtrack.
“You do?” Echo blinked in surprise, lips parting as your words settled in his mind. Your hum of affirmation as you released his scomp to jump across a small creek made him grin. “Well, it’s mutual.” He offered, reaching up to rub at the back of his head.
Giggling, you turned back around to face Echo, but your smile faltered when you caught sight of something above him, eyes widening as you gasped.
Watching your expression change, the galaxy slowed for a moment as Echo reflexively pulled his blaster from its holster, finger on the trigger as he aimed it upwards in the direction you were looking. His body tensed, every nerve on high alert, ready to take down whatever was up there and protect you. But while scanning the branches, leaves, and colourful flowers, he found no danger, no noise of a droid or person, or even an animal beyond the melodic bird song – was there something he couldn’t see?
“Uj’ika…” Echo searched for an answer.
Returning your gaze to Echo, you hopped back across the creek, reaching out a hand to take his arm and slowly lower it, along with his blaster. “It’s okay, there’s no danger.” You explained quietly. “I’m sorry I spooked you.” You apologised, watching as he slid his blaster back into its holster, questioning brown eyes turning in your direction.
“It’s a Kibo.” You whispered, awe lacing your voice as the softest smile crossed your features. “The purple flowers. They’re so rare, Ecks. I never thought I’d see one in person.”
Flowers. You were in awe of rare flowers. And he’d nearly shot them. “Are they going to eat us?” Echo asked, fingers twitching near his blaster. He tried to ignore how his heart clenched again at the nickname, warmth daring to seep through the few bones he had left.
Laughter bubbled forward, and you raised a hand to cover your mouth. “No, they won’t eat us.” Your laughter tapered out as you watched Echo relax.
Reassured, Echo could now ask his next question. “Why are they rare?”
“The seeds of the Kibo can restore sight. They’re prized for it. Healers and medics have searched for and taken them, so few are left.” You explained, moving closer for a better look at the flowers.
“Can they restore anything else?” Echo questioned, admiring the delicate blooms.
“I’m not sure. All that’s been documented is how they can literally and metaphorically restore a person’s vision, allowing them to see what’s right in front of them.” You shrugged, head tilting towards the flowers, watching the petals shift in the light breeze. You couldn’t believe you’d finally seen them – and out in the wild, too!
Echo couldn’t help but watch you, the awe on your face exquisite. Swallowing thickly, tendrils of fear try to creep down his spine, but he pushes them aside and reaches out with his hand. Sliding it across your cheek, he tilted your head towards him. “I don’t need a flower to let me see how beautiful you are.” He whispered, silently praying the years of watching his twin compliment women would pay off.
Surprised, your lips parted, eyes widening at the compliment and physical contact. Warmth seeped through your body. Was he flirting?
Emboldened by the fact you hadn’t reacted badly, Echo slipped his scomp around your waist and pulled you close. He had the opportunity, and he wasn’t going to waste it.
Your breath caught in your throat, your heart pounding with anticipation. A soft, nervous smile formed on your lips and Echo’s eyes dropped to them – it was all the warning you got before he leaned in and closed the distance.
His lips met yours in a soft, gentle kiss, like the brush of a feather against the skin. It was sweet and tentative, filled with all the unspoken feelings you’d both been withholding since you’d joined the squad. The world seemed to stand still as you savoured the sensation, lips lingering against each other’s.
You pulled back slightly, breaking the kiss, and your eyes opened to find Echo gazing at you with warmth and affection. Your bodies pressed together, heart racing.
You watched as a glint of something crossed his eyes, and with light steps, he guided you backwards, pressing you against the trunk of a nearby tree. His lips found your throat, and he peppered kisses across it, pulling a gasp from you.
His hand gripped your waist, keeping you close. You were still out in the open on an unfamiliar planet, and your safety was his priority. More kisses were left up your throat until he pressed his lips to yours once again. There was a little heat behind this one, making your insides turn to mush as Echo’s fingers grasped at you tightly.
He pulled back after a moment, resting his forehead on yours while you caught your breaths. The soft sound of the wind rustling the trees filtered back into your mind, along with the chirp of forest creatures.
“Maker, I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” Echo whispered, nervousness settling in.
You chuckled, a smile breaking out on your face. “Me too.” You admitted, sliding a hand to the nape of his neck, careful not to snag his cybernetic headpiece. “I think we should do it again.” You whispered.
As Echo’s eyes snapped open, you were no longer unsure what their glint meant. Those soft lips you’d just kissed curved into a wicked smile. “Yes, ma’am.”

Giving The Bad Batch Nicknames
The Bad Batch/Reader. Headcanons. | writing-positivelyexisting🫧
Tumblr media
Hunter
“Hunter-bear”
The obscurity of ‘bear’ throws him off and he’s definitely going to ask why you said it.
“It rhymes, it’s fitting, and it’s cute. Better than ‘babe’, yeah?”
Despite not knowing where that nickname came from, Hunter eventually grows to love it. It’s so endearing to him that you came up with a nickname just for him.
The little name had grown on him so much that one time you didn’t say it, you just said his name, his heart sank and his eyes looked at you with so much concern and guilt. He thought he had wronged you in some way and didn’t think twice to make it up to you.
Flowers, a night out on the town, a cute dinner, a full body massage, anything you even LOOKED AT with interest he bought for you.
When you asked why the sudden flash of romance, he said, “You didn’t say ‘bear’ after my name and I thought you were upset with me. You always call me ‘Hunter-bear’.” He had the saddest puppy eyes and little frown you seriously thought he would shed a tear or two.
You got a good laugh in that day, realizing this nickname really stuck with him. You explained that you weren’t mad and it was an accident. “But, I might keep making the same mistake if this is what it gets me,” you joked.
Tumblr media
Echo
“Echo-bird”
The funny look you got from the man almost took the breath out of you. He seemed so confused and a little annoyed, asking why ‘bird’ was necessary.
“Your name is Echo and some birds are known to repeat back phrases and words. It’s fitting,” you laughed softly.
Echo rolled his eyes and huffed. He thought he was through with the echo-jokes. “Oh great.”Then again … it reminded him of his old team.
The first few times you said it, Echo would look at you with a stern gaze. Kind of like when a mother looks at her child, silently saying “watch it”. However, the more you called him Echo-bird the more he felt his body relax.
Your nickname had become one of the most precious things to him. You always seemed to know when to use it, too. When the mission was stressful, causing his mind to cloud with doubt you’d say his nickname in such a calm, sweet, and soft whisper. Your hands would always touch him when you said it, getting his full attention.
More often, now, each time you’d call him by his nickname he would hug you so close to him. It always put a smile on your face when he’d bury his in your hair or in the little nook of your neck.
What you couldn’t see when he did that is the biggest smile with tears threatening to fall behind his lashes. While it hurt to remember his old squad, it felt so much better to know they never really went away.
Tumblr media
Wrecker
“Dear”
It’s simple. It’s sweet. And he absolutely loves it.
Wrecker doesn’t question it. He was all smiles and laughs when you first said it.
He picked you up in a hug, telling you to use that all the time. And you did.
“Wrecker, dear, can you help me for a second?”
“My dear, could you grab that for me?”
It fills the guy with so many butterflies and completely melts his heart. Anytime you called him “dear” he would stop what he was doing to help you.
When you can, you kiss his cheek and say “Thank you, dear.” This is the one that gets you lucky.
“Come here, you!” It would be a very short chase full of laughs and squeals.
Sometimes the other guys will joke around, mimicking your voice and calling him by his nickname when you’re not around just to see him lose his cool for a little. (Even Tech would chime in with a logical jest sometimes).
You only caught them poking fun once and it was the last time you heard the jokes.
“You boys better watch yourselves. Just because you don’t have someone to make you feel all warm and good inside doesn’t mean you gotta poke fun at the one who does.”
Wrecker stood behind you, arms crossed, with the biggest “what she said” look on his face.
The men looked everywhere but you two in shame, muttering apologies.
Tumblr media
Tech
“Boyfriend” / “Husband”
This man is IN LOVE with the title.
You said it first when you introduced him to a friend. “This is my boyfriend/husband, Tech.”
It sent a tingle through his body and scratched an itch he didn’t even realize he had. It cracked a smile on his lips and it stayed for the whole day.
He requested that you called him by his title regularly and he would call you by your title, too. It made you giggle but of course you agreed with Tech, who wouldn’t?
“Oh, boyfriend/husband!” “Yes, girlfriend/wife?”
“Boyfriend/Husband, what do you think about this for the Marauder?” “Absolutely brilliant, girlfriend/wife.”
Being called boyfriend/husband made this man feel so important and loved. It was definitely an ego boost for him, but you didn’t mind it.
When you two were alone, doing whatever or nothing, you would touch his face so lovingly and say, “My handsome boyfriend/husband.”
Tech would lean into your touch with the softest of smiles, mimicking your actions. “My beautiful girlfriend/wife.”
Tumblr media
Crosshair
“Darling”
A classical nickname. Sleek and dark. It suited him well.
It sent a dangerous shiver down his back when you first said it. Crosshair was quick to whip back around to you, a stern pointer finger in your face.
“Don’t say that.”
You swallowed, feeling maybe he didn’t enjoy being called that but you searched his eyes and found skittish curiosity.
It just wasn’t his normal, but you got him to accept it. Through rigorous perseverance of calling him “darling”.
“Crosshair, darling, could you come here?”
“Stop cleaning your rifle and come to bed, darling.”
The nickname soon became a beaconing and Crosshair would come to your side and assist you with whatever you needed.
At some point, he started using it for you as well. It was always subtle, too. Never using a loud voice, always sounding like a grumble.
“Focus, darling.”
“Here you go, darling.”
And of course, once he was comfortable with it, he started using it as a form of teasing in the bedroom.
Tumblr media
I had this thought while on a road trip this past weekend and it’s probably the cutest thing I’ll ever write.

"Hey, are you alright?"
Rex's voice reached your ears, but the words remained trapped in your throat. You stood there, rooted to the spot, a whirlwind of emotions raging within you. Tears welled up in your eyes as a million thoughts raced through your mind. Then again, how does one react to the miraculous news that the man you had loved for countless years, the man you had believed to be lost forever, was now alive?
It took the gentle wave of a hand in front of your face to snap you out of your daze. Blinking back your tears, you focused on Rex, who wore a concerned expression. "You okay?"
"Echo's alive?" you finally managed to croak out, your voice trembling with a mixture of disbelief and hope.
A soft, reassuring smile graced Rex's lips as he nodded. "Yes, he's alive. He's been with another squad for quite some time now."
The shock of the revelation left you struggling to grasp the reality of the moment. Rex had delivered this life- news with such casual ease, unaware of the immense significance it held for you. He couldn't possibly fathom the depths of your feelings for the Arc Trooper.
Rex guided you to a quiet spot and began to unravel the incredible story of Echo's survival. To your horror, he painted a vivid picture of the ordeal Echo had endured from the Techno Union, how he was rescued and his choice about joining another squad. You truly had no ideal to cope with all this information, other than stare at Rex dumbfounded.
You had abandoned your position within the GAR years ago, unable to bear the pain of Echo's supposed death. But now, a chance had emerged, a chance to find Echo and to finally confess the love you had hidden away for years. However, the question of whether it was too late, whether Echo even held the same feelings for you, loomed large. But you had to find out one way or another. “How do I find Clone Force 99?”
Tumblr media
Rex had been kind enough to provide you with the coordinates of the last known location Echo was heading to, and you had promptly booked a shuttle to get there. The journey was arduous, with doubt gnawing at your thoughts the entire way. Your mind whispered that this might be a foolish mistake, but the need to see Echo, to confirm his existence with your own eyes, outweighed all hesitation.
As the shuttle touched down on the unfamiliar planet, you felt a sense of disorientation and timid uncertainty. You questioned whether you should first explore your surroundings or make an attempt to find Echo yourself.
However, your gaze was drawn to the vast expanse of the ocean. It had been too long since you had witnessed such natural beauty, the sun's gentle rays dancing on the water's surface. The clean, fresh air was a stark contrast to the stuffy atmosphere of the deeper levels of Coruscant. You had overheard that this planet served as a refuge for many after the Clone Wars, and it seemed like the perfect place for it.
Lost in contemplation, you were brought back to the present by the presence of a small girl standing beside you, her bright brown eyes and short blonde hair catching your attention. She gazed up at you and inquired, "Are you okay?"
You offered her a warm smile and nodded. "Yeah, thanks. Just... taking it all in."
She eagerly inquired, "I love it here. Are you visiting someone or staying?"
Your soft laughter filled the air as you found her nosiness to be quite charming. Truth be told, you didn't see a reason to hide the purpose of your visit. "Visiting someone."
Her eyes lit up with excitement. "Who? Maybe I know them?" Her eagerness was infectious, and you couldn't help but notice the familiarity in her eyes, a certain resemblance that tugged at your memories.
You began to answer, "Alright, he's called Ec—"
But before you could finish, a commanding voice interrupted, "Omega, come. We need to get going." The voice sent a shockwave through your heart, and your breath caught in your throat. It was a voice you had longed to hear, one you thought you'd never hear again.
Omega let out a sigh and offered you an apologetic look before turning and hurrying to the source of the voice. As you turned to see the speaker, your heart skipped a beat. Echo stood there, so different yet unmistakably the same. His gaze on you was strong, as if trying to piece a picture together of who you were.
"But Echo, I was helping her find someone," Omega protested, gesturing towards you. Her words were distant as Echo's gaze locked onto yours, trying to recognise the changes in your appearance from the last time he had seen you. Your hair, clothing, and your civilian guise had replaced the uniformed visage he remembered.
Interrupting the profound moment, Omega's question rang out, but both you and Echo remained captivated by the connection rekindled in that shared gaze. Soon, the other members of Echo’s squad gathered by Omega's side.
Hunter's curiosity was piqued as he observed the unfolding interaction, and he couldn't help but ask, "What's going on?" Omega simply shrugged, her eyes trained on Echo and you.
With a few more tentative steps, Echo closed the distance between you, his head tilted slightly as if to analyse you, to confirm that it was really you. Your voice quivered as you managed to say, "Hi, Echo," and he echoed your name in a soft, heartfelt tone.
A warm smile graced his lips as he admitted, "I can't believe it's you."
A gentle, albeit slightly teasing, response escaped your lips. "I could say the same."
Finally, the emotional barrier gave way, and you found yourselves locked in each other's arms, holding each other as though afraid to let go. "
I've missed you so much," you whispered into his chest, your glistening eyes revealing the depths of your longing. The tears threatened to spill, impossible to hold back any longer.
And then, an unexpected comment from one of Echo's companions, "I didn't know Echo had a girlfriend,” broke the tender moment and you could not help but laugh.
“Let me introduce you to the others,” Echo pulls out of the hug, offers you a reassuring smile and guides you to his new comrades.
Tumblr media
Later that evening after some good, really good food, yourself and Echo take a walk down by the shore. Making small talk and catching up on everything you both have missed, it felt like nothing changed between you both. It was everything you could have hoped for.
"I really can't believe you're here," Echo chuckled, a sense of disbelief lingering in his voice. "I never thought I'd see you again."
A soft smile graced your lips as you matched his pace, coming to a stop as you spoke. "Me either."
Then, with a touch of hesitation, you blurted out, "So, uh, are you seeing anybody?" The question took even you by surprise, and it seemed to have a similar effect on Echo. His curiosity was piqued as he observed your flustered expression.
He folded his arms over his chest, shaking his head. "No, are you?"
Your reply came swiftly, perhaps a bit too swiftly for your liking. "No." You didn't give yourself a chance to consider the implications of your response, and Echo didn't press further.
His next question, however, held a hint of teasing, and his voice carried a subtle tone of curiosity. "Oh yeah? And why's that?" It seemed as though he was studying you, and for a brief moment, you thought he might have moved a bit closer, but it was hard to tell if it was just your imagination.
Your breath wavered as you gazed into Echo's eyes, your heart racing just like the first time you had ever met him. It felt like the right moment to lay bare the truth, to let him in on the emotions that had been tucked away for far too long.
"I have feelings," you began, your voice steady but your eyes now avoiding his, "for you. I have feelings for you."
Echo's eyes widened, and he blinked in astonishment, his words caught in his throat as he grappled with the unexpected confession. "You have feelings," he repeats, taking a step closer, his voice barely more than a whisper, "for me?"
You dipped your head, nodding as you ran a hand through your hair nervously. "I always have, Echo. I've loved you for so, so many years." The truth hung in the air between you, a confession that had been kept in the shadows for far too long.
The crashing waves almost drowned out the deafening silence that followed Echo's lack of response to your confession. Regret started to surge through you, the weight of the confession now hanging heavily in the clear air, making the situation uncomfortable and awkward.
"Sorry, I should go," you quickly uttered, turning to leave, but before you could take a step, his hand swiftly caught your wrist, pulling you back towards him. You stumbled slightly, finding yourself suddenly close to his chest, confusion painting your eyes.
In a moment that felt like a dream, Echo leaned in, nose nudging against your own and his breath brushing against your face with his lips hovering close to yours. "Echo?" you whispered, a rush of chills coursing through your body.
"I love you too," he finally uttered, his eyes closing as his lips met yours in a tender, affectionate embrace. "I've loved you since the first night I met you," he confessed, his warm breath mingling with yours as his hand moved to your waist, drawing you closer.
The kiss unfolded slowly, a perfect and intensely romantic connection, a moment that exceeded all your imagined dreams of being with Echo. It felt surreal, but his touch, his lips, assured you of his reality. When the kiss finally parted, he breathed, "Stay with us. Stay with me."
In that instant, any doubt vanished. You knew you would never even consider leaving his side again. Echo's confession sealed the bond, and you embraced the certainty that this was where you belonged, in his arms.

Bad Batch Reacts…
S/o Letting Go of Their Hand and Stopping
Warnings: shitpost, cursing, fluff
Note: am I writing another tiktok trend? Yes, absolutely. This was just a fun, quick post. Now I just need to write one for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!
Description: While traveling together through the city, you stop and let go of his hand to see if he notices or keeps walking.
Crosshair
Does he notice?
He notices.
But does he stop?
No!
He knows what your doing, following him through the city when he got too far away for you to just wait.
He’ll use one of the reflectors he keeps to look behind him, laughing quietly to himself about the very upset look on your face.
Crosshair looks back once more, an annoyed pout on your face as you begin toward him. He keeps walking, occasionally looking as you get closer and closer.
“Crosshair!” You call out from behind him as you make your way through a crowd of people. He decided he’d have no better opportunity and he ducked away in an alley, tossing a reflector on the wall in front of him. “Shit.”
You look around and he’s gone. Panic begins to set in. Did something happen? You weren’t on a mission, maybe he saw something? You race forward, looking in every direction.
Finally, you run out of breath and stop, leaning against a corner. Your hand touches something on the wall, and when you turn to look—
“Boo.” If he hadn’t put his hands on your shoulders, you probably would’ve slapped him.
“Maker Crosshair! You scared me!” You shout, your voice laced with both annoyance and relief. Only relieved he didn’t leave you.
“Mesh’la, what are you doing?” He asks, spinning you around, trapping you against the wall.
“It was just a joke, my friend did it to her boyfriend and he spun around and asked her why she let go, I wanted to see what you would do.” You continue to pout, refusing to meet his gaze, pretending to be upset with him.
“Well, I noticed.” He answers, flicking you on the forehead with his toothpick. “It was funny, but don’t do it again.”
“Or what?”
“I’m going to have to walk back to the ship by myself.”
Wrecker
Does he notice?
Also no.
Boy did you let go at the wrong time.
You let go just as he saw one of those food stands he really likes.
You find yourself laughing as he orders something before turning to find you gone.
“Can I get a box of those truffles and, hey do you—” Wrecker turns, now noticing his empty hand and his missing s/o. Confused, he abandons the shop, confusing the employee even more as he searches for you.
“Hey! What are you doing over here?!” He questions, finding you in the middle of the street. Before you can even give him an answer, he picks you up and carried you over to the shop.
“Wrecker!” You shout, surprised by his actions.
“Do you want anything?” He asks, completely oblivious to the fact you abandoned him on purpose.
“Wrecker, I— oooo they have cupcakes!”
Well, you didn’t quite get the response you wanted, but you did get cupcakes.
Tech
Does he notice?
Yes
Tech’s already not very big on holding hands, but this was a crowded place so he made the exception.
When you let go of his hand, it was just as you got out of the crowd.
So, Tech being Tech, he stops as well and takes the opportunity to go on his datapad to check for any messages and where you two going or planning to go.
He’s confused when you start laughing in the midst of him asking you where you wanted to go.
“There is an appliance shop just down here I’d like to stop by. However, there is also an art exhibit. If you would enjoy visiting there, we will have to go now that way there’s still time for me to go to the appliance—” Tech finally looks up from his datapad to see you squeaking out a laugh through your fist. “I am confused.”
“It’s— hah! It’s nothing Tech. Wh-what were you saying about the art exhibit?” You giggle between every through words. Tech gives you a puzzled look before continuing on, telling you about the art exhibit. Except this time, when you continue on, he hooks arms with you as you continue to giggle, satisfied by your very Tech reaction.
Hunter
Does he notice?
Yes, right away.
He’s only here because you wanted to check out the small festival going on.
Hunter’s a little irritated due to being in such a crowded area for a while.
So when you stop and let go of his hand, he just assumes you saw a stand and you wanted to take a look.
He’s confused when you just stand there and smile goofily at him.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, confused and a little worried as you start cracking up into a fit of giggles. He kind of smiles as he takes a moment to focus on you, instead of all the hustling and chatter going on around him. “Is there something you want to look at?”
“Just you.” You answer with a giggle, earning a wide smile from the man you love. Hunter pulls you close to him, oblivious to your trickery and he kisses you on the cheek.
“Real sweet, cyare.” He hums, tucking his face into the nape of your neck. “Does that mean we can head back to the ship?”
“I suppose you’ve held out long enough. Let’s get the boys some food on the way back.” You reply, your own prank slipping from your thoughts as he kisses your neck in a silent plea.
“Whatever you want, mesh’la.”
Echo
Does he notice?
Not at first.
He walks for a few more minutes before he realizes you’re gone.
He panics, but when he turns he finds you weren’t far.
“Everything alright?” Echo asks, confused as to why you just stopped in the middle of the path.
“Everything’s fine.” You answer with a small grin. He gives you a confused look, and takes your hand once more.
“We should head back to Cid’s, I think we’ve been gone long enough—” He turns once more to find you a few feet behind him. “What are you doing?”
You can’t help but laugh as you take his hand once more.
“I thought you wouldn’t notice again.”
“Ohh, so you’re doing this on purpose.” Echo questions with a raised brow.
“Maybe.” You tease, grinning his way.
“Section 8.9 states, ‘if a subject is not compliant—” Echo suddenly moves and picks you up, surprising you at your loss of footing. “Transport them by any means necessary.’”
“Echo! Those rules don’t even count anymore!” You pout, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“They do when you’re with me.” He answers. “What was it you were even trying to achieve?”
“I wanted you to…” you bite your tongue for a moment to stop yourself from laughing. “Echo-locate me.”
“Ugh.”

Dream of You
Summary: You know things. Things you shouldn’t. You knew about the clones, about the Republic’s army long before the war started. You knew about their training, you knew about attacks and battles even before they happened, long before the rest of the galaxy knew about them. Your only regret is not saying something sooner.
Pairing: Echo x reader Soulmate AU
Warnings: NSFW, 18+, smut, unprotected sex, slight aftercare, angst, war, Echo's "death", slight description of medical stuff, paranoia, depression, very brief implied mention of suicidal thoughts, fluffy, happy ending, Soulmate AU
A/N: Did I intend the last two soulmate fics to have similar links...not really. It just happened this way. Also, this is the NSFW Echo soulmate fic, the one with ace!reader is coming shortly. I'll be making a post when I'm close to finishing that one. I really struggled with this so sorry if it's garbage. Echo was not musing for me this time around.
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Blaster fire.
It’s all around you, though that was fairly common for your dreams. You’re not sure where you are. You can’t see anything defining, nothing that would point out where you are or what you’re doing.
“This is our only chance. We’ve got to stop him.” The voice echoes in your head. It’s coming from you. It’s your voice.
You rush forward, grabbing a shield from the ground despite the bolts being fired at you. You rush towards the shuttle, firing at the droids in an attempt to secure it.
“Echo look out!”
Before the words register in your mind, before you can react you’re flying, being thrown forward by a wave of heat and energy.
An explosion.
The sound registers in your ears as you hit the ground. It’s dark, wherever you’ve landed. The pain begins to register as the shock wears off. Your whole body feels as if it's on fire. You can feel your pulse in your legs and arms, blood on your tongue. You can’t move. Even if you wanted to, even if you tried to call out, you can’t.
You’re dying.
****
You wake with a scream. Tears are gliding down your cheeks, and have been judging on the dampness of your face. You’re shaking uncontrollably, breaths coming in hyperventilating gasps.
Your soulmate’s going to die.
A hand lands on your shoulder, shaking you gently. “You alright?”
You’re still hyperventilating, your brain refusing to respond. You’re soulmate’s going to die. Your soulmate’s going to die. It’s the only thing you can think of.
“Look at me.” One of your fellow medics, Zena, kneels down on the other side of you. You like Zena. You’d consider her a friend. “I need you to breathe, otherwise you’re going to pass out.”
She’s right. You can feel the tingling in your hands and feet and face as the carbon dioxide in your blood rapidly decreases. Zena takes a deep breath, holding it before letting it out. You try to mimic her, slowing your hyperventilating until your breathing is semi-even, broken only by the occasional sobs as you continue to cry.
“What is it?” Zena asks, sitting on the edge of your bunk. “What’s going on?”
“E-Echo.” You stutter out. “He’s...he’s go-gonna die!”
A sympathetic look crosses her face. She’s one of the few that know about your soulmate, an ARC Trooper stationed with the 501st named Echo. You’ve never met, at least in person. You share a unique connection with him. Every time you sleep, you dream of what your soulmate will experience the next day. It started about eight years ago. You knew things about the GAR, about the war, long before it started. You’ve dreamed of battles that have happened since, things you shouldn’t know. Things that would get you arrested and sent to interrogation.
It was what led you to sign up to be a medic, the hope that you might by chance run into your soulmate. Of course, you hadn’t known back then about the rules, the Kaminoans and the GAR forbidding the clones from forming links with their soulmates. The more you learned about the clones, the more angry it made you at the GAR.
Zena squeezes your arm. “Maybe...maybe Commander Bly could help. He could alert the 501st command or something.”
You scrub a hand over your face, smearing tears all over your skin. She’s right. Maybe...maybe things aren’t hopeless. You’re risking a lot. You’ll have to reveal your connection to Echo. If anyone finds out, he’ll be forced to reject you. By saving him, you might force yourselves apart for good.
It would be better than losing him permanently.
You throw the covers back, sliding your feet into your boots. “I need to find the Commander.”
You’ve only spoken to Commander Bly once, while you patched his wound after a battle. You didn’t interact with command much outside the med bay. You were so far below their ranks. Your job was to patch wounds and keep injured troopers alive long enough to receive care. You were about to step so far out of your zone, but if it might save your soulmate’s life, then it will be worth it.
You’re out the door of the bunks in a flash, before anyone can bring into question your course of action, before you can really question your decision. You head to the bridge, the first place you can think of as to where Commander Bly might be.
You’re stopped at the doors before you can even get inside. “Authorized personnel only.” The trooper says.
“I need to see Commander Bly.” You say, putting as much authority in your voice as you can.
“He’s busy.” The trooper says.
“It’s an emergency.” You say. “Lives are at stake.”
The troopers at the door share a glance before one steps inside. You only get a quick glance through the doors before they’re closing again. You stand there and wait for what feels like too long, before the doors open, the trooper returning with Commander Bly in tow.
He seems far more imposing now than he had when you’d patched his wound. You had been running high on adrenaline, patching trooper after trooper for hours after the battle ended. The adrenaline made you more brave. You could use some of that now. Right now all you have is desperation.
Commander Bly leads you to a private room, your heart pounding in your chest. How were you going to tell him? How were you going to make him believe you? You’d have to spill, you’d have to tell him the truth and hope he believed the same as the other clones about soulmates. You’re risking so much, but if it saves even one life, perhaps it will be worth it.
“You think someone’s in trouble?” He asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
You nod, taking a deep breath. Your hands are still shaking, still rattled by your dream. “It’s the 501st, sir.” You push the tears away, not wanting to cry in front of your Commander. “Something’s wrong, something’s going to happen.”
“And how do you know this?” He asks skeptically, raising an eyebrow at you.
“My...my soulmate is with the 501st.” You say. “We share a dream connection. I-I had a dream last night. He’s going to die.”
Commander Bly stares at you for a moment before he sighs, his shoulders drooping. “I’m sorry, but I don’t know what you want me to do.”
“Warn them. Contact them. Something!” You say, raising your voice a bit. “There has to be something that can be done.”
He shakes his head. “The 501st is on a campaign right now. No warning I could send is going to change what happens. We have to do our duty first.”
Tears blur your eyes at his words. Of course it was foolish to think you could stop one clone from dying. You shouldn’t have bothered. Now you could be reported to GAR officials.
“I’m sorry.” The Commander at least has the decency to sound sympathetic. He puts a hand on your shoulder, squeezing gently. “There’s a shuttle leaving for Coruscant in less than an hour. I’ll put in the leave request paperwork.”
You feel defeated. That’s it, then. There’s no swooping in and saving him, no way of preventing his death. Maybe this was the way it was always supposed to be. Fate wouldn’t give you a soulmate you weren’t going to meet.
So what does that say about you?
You drag your feet back to the barracks, packing your things silently as the tears slide down your cheeks. You feel numb, like your body is already preparing for the inevitable pain. It was going to happen today. You don’t know exactly when. It’s almost worse.
You find the shuttle, boarding it without a word. You squish yourself in between two crates, pulling your knees to your chest as you wait for the soul-crushing pain of your soulmate’s death to hit you.
***
You’ve been on Coruscant for two days. You’ve fluttered in and out of sleep, tears, and a deep numbness that prevented you from doing much else besides sitting and staring out the window of your hotel. You haven’t dreamed once in the many hours you’ve spent asleep. It’s all been dark, black, a void of nothingness.
Was this what it felt like losing a soulmate?
No one could ever fully describe it. They said it was horribly painful, like a piece of them was dying and decaying and it left a gaping hole in its place that never fully healed.
You certainly feel like one big gaping hole.
There’s been no pain, no soul-shredding feeling. Just numbness and emptiness. Perhaps it’s different for everyone. Perhaps your brain had blocked it out to save you from the pain of having to feel part of your soul dying.
On the third day they arrive.
You had managed to drag yourself into the shower, and you answer the door with dripping hair. Two members of the Coruscant Guard stand at your door. They ask your name and you confirm it. You’ve been summoned to the GAR headquarters.
You already know what this is about.
They let you at least make yourself decent and put shoes on before they escort you to the speeder. You’re not under arrest, which is a good sign, but you can imagine you’re headed into an interrogation. Someone had spilled on your link, on your knowledge of things you shouldn’t have known. Was it Commander Bly? One of your fellow civilians?
You’re not mad.
You’re far too numb to feel anything that strong.
You’re escorted into the building and led through the labyrinth of lifts and halls. You’re left in a room with hardly more than a table and chairs and an overhead light. You lower yourself into one of the chairs, trying to prepare yourself for your impending interrogation. You can only imagine the things you’re going to get asked about.
You’re not sure how long you wait there in the plain, windowless room. It feels like an external representation of how you feel inside. You can’t even bring yourself to feel nervous when an Admiral joins you in the room.
He asks your name and your station, questions you can easily answer. You know you can’t lie. Getting caught in a lie isn’t going to help you any, and besides, why would you lie now? Your soulmate’s dead. They can’t do anything about it.
“Having highly confidential information about the GAR and its battles puts you in a precarious situation.” The Admiral says.
“Well, you won’t have to worry about that anymore.” You say. “After all, my soulmate is dead.”
“Yes, what a pity. The loss of clones is an unfortunate aspect of the war that the Republic has no choice but to accept.” The Admiral says, no sympathy in his tone whatsoever. “You could have been a useful asset. Perhaps if we had known, things could have gone differently.”
Your hands ball into fists, sudden rage boiling under the surface. It’s the first thing you’ve felt in days. You know it’s not true. They wouldn’t have risked anything to save Echo. He’s just another clone to them. Another faceless body to throw in front of a blaster.
You’re shuttled back to your hotel and left at the door like nothing had happened. You’re still burning with rage, your body clinging to the first emotion it’s been able to conjure in days. You want to flip the table in your room, destroy the bed, break a window, something. You don’t have that kind of money, though, to pay for those damages. Nor do you want to put some poor housekeeper through that.
Instead you drop on the bed and let out a scream into the pillow. The rage begins to boil down to tears, your sobs muffled by the dampening pillow. You cry yourself to sleep, drifting back into a state of numbness.
***
It’s cold. You can’t see anything, you can’t hear anything. All around you is cold and dark. You can’t move, you can’t feel. You’re numb. The pain is gone, replaced by nothing. Nothing but numbing blackness in the cold around you.
No, wait. You can hear something. Something off in the distance. It’s getting louder, echoing in your mind.
CT-1409.
CT-1409.
***
You can still hear it when you wake.
CT-1409.
You blink the tears from your lashes, sitting up on the bed. It’s night, the city illuminated outside the window. You haven’t been asleep long. You’d been in the GAR headquarters longer than you thought.
CT-1409.
You rise from the bed, moving towards the window, looking down at the city as far as you can, until it disappears into the cloud of haze that separates the upper and lower levels. You suddenly back away from the window, all but punching the button to close the shutters. It cuts off the only light, bathing the room in complete darkness. For half a moment you expect the cold to come seeping back in.
CT-1409.
You need to get off Coruscant. You need to get out from under the eyes of the Republic. You need to hide. You need to disappear before they make you.
CT-1409.
You use your savings to purchase a ship. It’s a piece of junk, but it has hyperspace capabilities. That’s all you need. You need to find somewhere remote. After that, you’ll figure it out from there. You have little money left, but being a medic means you’ll be able to find jobs easily. You can work anywhere. Someone’s always looking to hire medics.
You just need to disappear from the Republic.
*** 2 Years Later ***
You’re still dreaming.
You had dreamed of the frozen darkness most out of everything. Occasionally you’d get more. Strange noises, things spoken in a language you couldn’t understand. Occasionally you’ll see flashes, images. You can never quite make them out.
You think it might be your brain trying to get used to dreaming its own dreams again. Or perhaps it's your brain's way of trying to make up for the loss of your soulmate. The numbness has slowly faded into the background, though it hasn’t really left. You found a remote planet to live on, one far from war. You got a job at the medical center in a small town, the job almost boring compared to the heart racing adrenaline inducing insanity of the war.
You don’t mind. It keeps you off the radar.
You’ve built a decent life here in two years. As decent a life as you could, at least. You still feel empty and lonely. That longing feeling for your other half hasn’t left. The fact you know you’ll never get to have him only makes it worse.
You cry more than you’d like to admit. You understand now why people don’t last long when their soulmate dies. You’d hardly call this living. More just simply existing.
You have considered it. You can never quite bring yourself to. There’s always something in the back of your mind holding you back. Sometimes you wish you were brave enough.
It’s one of those nights when it happens.
***
It’s dark and cold again. It feels different this time. Something’s happening, but you’re confused.
Suddenly the darkness is gone, and you’re staring at what seems to be a control room.
“We-We have to get to the shuttle to escape the Citadel.” The voice echoes in your head. “No! I’ll go first!”
“Echo.” Another voice says. “Echo, it’s Rex. I’m here.”
A face enters your vision. You know that face. You’ve seen it many times. “Rex? You, you came back for me?”
“Yes.” He looks guilty. “Yes I did.”
“What, what happened? Where am I?” Your gaze swings to look around the room.
“It’s okay, Echo.” Your gaze is drawn back to Rex. “You’re safe now. Just sit tight trooper. You’re going home.”
***
You startle awake, tears sliding down your cheeks. You stare at the wall across from your bed in disbelief. It can’t be...but it had felt like the other dreams.
Has he been alive this whole time?
Had he somehow survived the explosion? It would explain the other dreams, the lack of pain at his passing. Had your suffering been simply your own creation because you thought he was dead?
Has he been alive this whole time?
Your dream means he’ll be getting rescued today. Hope blooms inside you that it is true, that it is really a dream of what’s going to happen. Many feelings flood you for the first time in a long time. The numbness is pushed away as emotions bubble within you. You don’t know whether to be happy or worried or sad or relieved. All you can do is cry. Again.
Of course, you’ll have no way of knowing if it really does come true. You have no connections in the GAR anymore, and you can’t risk them finding you. You did sort of desert the army and break your contract. You know a prison cell is waiting for you if you go back.
Fate won’t give you a soulmate you’ll never meet.
You’re not entirely sure you trust fate. It’s put you through the wringer, but with this new development, that could change. Maybe you will find your way together after all.
You call out of work, knowing you won’t be able to focus. You hardly leave your bed, thinking over the dream, over the fact your soulmate is alive. The longer you lay there, the faster the regrets start seeping in. What if you hadn’t left the Republic? You could have found a way to finally get to him, to finally meet him for the first time.
There was no guarantee.
Fate won’t give you a soulmate you’ll never meet. Perhaps it was always meant to happen this way. Perhaps it was better if it happened this way.
***
Your dreams return to normal as the months pass. Dreams of battles continue to be the most common. You see new faces now, faces you don’t recognize in your dreams through Echo’s eyes. Things have changed for him too.
You’ve always wondered what he saw in his dreams. Battles too, you imagined, though different ones than the ones he partook in. You wonder if he ever saw the clones you couldn’t save, his brothers suffering, you attempting to save their lives.
Your dreams must seem very boring now.
You wonder if he had still dreamed of you during the period of...whatever had happened to him. You wonder if he feels relief seeing how different your life is now. You wonder what he thinks of you.
You wonder if he even wants to meet you.
You shake those thoughts away, burying yourself in your work at the medical center. You don’t want to think about it. Rejection was still a strong possibility. Between the war and the GAR and the fact that not everyone wanted a soulmate, he could still reject you.
You force the thoughts away, focusing on your dreams instead. Watching what he’s doing, making sure he’s not going to die again.
Then the war ends.
Despite the war being over, chaos still ensues in the galaxy. You don’t trust the Empire, and that distrust only continues as your dreams continue. You watch the things that happen to Echo, and his eventual desertion. You’re helpless to do much but watch the events that transpire.
You wait patiently, biding your time as Echo and his squad try to find their place in the galaxy. It feels almost wrong to have such a front row seat to the goings on in his life despite never having met him in person before. Then again, he has a front row seat to your life as well, though your life is much more boring than his, even now.
As the weeks pass and the disruption continues in the galaxy, your new home planet remains entirely untouched. There wasn't much special about it. No major exports, no convenient hyperspace lanes nearby, no major cities. It's a perfect place to hide.
Echo has also found a place to hide. You begin to see a place popping up in your dreams regularly. An idea begins to form in your head as you learn about the place in your dreams.
Ord Mantell.
Cid's Parlor.
You could easily find that place. Ord Mantell's not far from your current home. You could reach it in a matter of hours. All you have to do is take time off work and jump in your scrap pile of a ship.
The idea makes you nervous. What if he doesn't want to meet you? What if he rejects you? Years. Years you've been waiting for this. You spent years thinking he was dead. Now he's within reach and...you're scared.
You dream of yourself that night.
You've already made up your mind, or fate has made it for you.
You're halfway to Ord Mantell before the sun rises on your home planet.
***
Cid's Parlor is a rather seedy place. You've been in worse, but you suppose for a front it's perfect. You take the stairs slowly, trying to remember to breathe. This is the moment. Two years ago you would have been running in and throwing your arms around him.
It's been a long two years.
You enter the bar, the inside not any better than the outside. There's a weequay and an ithorian at a dejarik table, and then the five at the bar. You recognize them from your dreams. Well, you recognize four of them.
You've never actually seen Echo. You were always seeing from his perspective. You always assumed he'd look like the other clones, but then you'd seen the new group he was with and realized maybe they don't all look alike.
You can pick him out in the group by process of elimination. You recognize the other three, having seen them at various points, and then of course there's the girl. You take a long look at Echo, tears gathering in your eyes.
You're so close. So close.
"Echo?" You ask, the bar seeming to go quiet as soon as you say it.
Everyone turns to look at you, brows furrowed in confusion. Echo steps back from the bar, staring at you. He's paler than the others, his face sunken and gaunt. There's a headset wrapped around his head, and you notice the cybernetic right arm.
The furrow of his brows lift into shock, his eyes widening as he stares at you. He whispers your name, almost too quiet for you to hear.
You're moving before you realize it, your arms wrapping around him. He's solid and warm and his plastoid chest plate digs into your skin, but you don't care. He's real.
His arms wrap around your shoulders, holding you against him.
"I-I didn't think..." You sniffle, a tear sliding down your cheek. "Two years! I thought you were dead."
He lets out a chuckle, his hand sliding down your back. "Yeah. Everyone thought I was."
You pull away as a throat clears beside you. Your cheeks warm a bit. You'd completely forgotten the others.
"Echo...care to explain?" The one with the bandana, Hunter you think, asks.
Echo slips his arm back around you, holding you against his side. "Everyone, I'd like you to meet my soulmate."
The guarded look on Hunter's face lessens just a bit. You hadn't expected to be welcomed with open arms and trusted immediately. Not after the things you've seen.
You get introduced to everyone, and you find yourself sitting at the bar, telling Echo all about yourself. Where you came from, how you joined the GAR, why you left, where you wound up. He knew a lot already. He'd dreamed of you occasionally during the two years you'd thought he was dead. He hadn't really understood what was happening during that time though. To be fair, you hadn't either.
You talk a bit about them, filling in some gaps in your understanding of what was happening to them.
"We need somewhere to lay low for a while." Hunter says.
"Well, I just happen to know the perfect place." You say. "It kept me hidden from the Republic and there hasn't been even a glance from the Empire so far."
"It's out of the way of most hyperspace lanes." Tech says, typing away at his datapad. "No major cities or ports. Mostly self-sufficient. Nothing anyone would be interested in."
You shrug. "It's not much, but it is safe."
***
"We're going in that?" Echo asks as you stand next to your ship docked at the port.
"Hey, don't hate on Bertha." You pat the side of the ship, something clanging inside. "She helped me escape the Republic."
You lower the ramp, having to fiddle with it as it sticks for a moment. Echo gives you an incredulous look but you wave him in. She may be a bit temperamental, but your ship has a special place in your heart.
"Tech will have a heyday with this one if you let him get his hands on it." Echo says, taking the copilot's seat.
"Well, he's more than welcome if he gets bored." You say, firing up the engine. "Can't make her any worse." You grin at him, giving the control panel a solid smack to stop it from rattling.
Echo doesn't relax until you're in hyperspace. You don't take it personally. You had been a little nervous flying the first time but though she was prone to rattling, Bertha flew perfectly fine.
You turn to look at Echo as the blue of hyperspace surrounds you. You reach out, pressing your hand to his cheek. His skin isn't as warm as you'd expect, your brow furrowing a little.
His hand lifts, resting against yours. Your thumb strokes his cheek, reminding yourself that he's real. He's right here with you finally.
"Echo...what happened to you?" You ask.
And he tells you. You spend the entire trip listening to his story. He starts at the beginning, explaining things you knew and many you didn't. You listen to it all. The good, the bad, the heartbreaking.
You cry for him a few times. Cry for the pain and the misery and the torture he's faced. He wipes your tears, dampening his glove but he doesn't seem to care.
You talk almost the entire flight, catching up on years of missed time. Echo only slightly clings to the seat as Bertha drops from hyperspace and you begin the hour flight to your home planet. It's slow going, Bertha not exactly made for speed.
The others are already there when you land, by no surprise. Though your home was small, you could offer them a roof over their head until they found something more permanent.
If they decided to stay here.
You try not to think about that too much.
"Glad you made it." Hunter says, eyeing Bertha as you and Echo step off the ramp.
"Not you too." You make a face. "She flies just fine, she's just got creaky joints."
You can already see the wheels turning in Tech's head as he eyes Bertha. You lead them inside, showing them your small house. You only have one spare room and a couch but they assure you they can just sleep on the ship. You feel bad, but then again you hadn't really been expecting this when you ran from the Republic.
You hadn't expected a lot to happen.
You make dinner, probably the first home cooked meal they've had in a long time, or possibly ever. Echo hovers in the kitchen but you don't mind. You like having him close after all this time. You're still a little afraid you'll turn around and find he's gone. Like he's been a figment of your imagination this whole time.
They leave you and Echo the house for the night, and you can tell by the look on Hunter's face it's deliberate. You hadn't really considered that but you knew anything could happen after you meet your soulmate.
You find Echo in your room after you finish cleaning up. He's standing next to the bed, tracing the carving on the wall.
CT-1409
You'd carved it after hearing it again in your dream. You'd been half dazed, repeating the number over and over in your head.
He turns to look at you, fingers resting in the center of the 9. Your cheeks warm a bit, not having thought about that. You just have his designation number carved in your wall. You might as well have his name there.
"I did that after I heard it in a dream." You say, approaching the bed. "I couldn't get it out of my head." You crawl onto the bed, kneeling next to him. "I put it there because it felt like in a way you were still with me, though I know now you never left."
He drops his hand, turning to face you. He looks a little guilty. "I'm sorry for putting you through that."
"Don't apologize for something you couldn't control." You say, putting your hand on his scomp arm. "You're here now. That's what matters."
He glances down at your hand before looking back up at your face, those big brown eyes shining in the orange light of sunset shining in through your window.
"I made a promise once." He says, staring at you. "To someone very close to me. We promised each other that after the war ended, we'd find our soulmates and settle down somewhere. Get married and have families. Grow old together far away from everything else."
You smile softly at him, gently guiding him to sit on your bed with you. "Well, I'd be more than happy to help you keep your part of the promise."
You sit with him, talking late into the night. There's no rush now. You have all the time in the world.
***1 Year Later***
"Just a pinch of this." You say, blindly holding out the jar of spice.
It's taken from your hand and set on the counter, your ears picking up the small clink of metal on tile. Hands grip your waist from behind as you stand on your toes to reach the second shelf of the cupboard.
"You know I can reach those easily." Echo murmurs in your ear.
You grin at him over your shoulder. "I know. I also know you love looking at my ass."
He practically purrs, hands sliding lower. "I do love your ass."
You press back into his hands, one flesh, the other cybernetic. He'd ditched the scomp a few months ago now that he's retired to a boring civilian life.
"We don't have a lot of time before they get here." You say, straightening up to try and slip out from where he has you pinned to the counter.
He presses against you harder, hands moving to trap you between him and the counter. "They can wait for dinner." He breathes into your ear, pressing his half-hard cock against your ass. "I want dessert first."
You bite your lip, letting out a strangled moan as he grinds against you. "At least turn the burner off." You breathe.
Echo presses a kiss to your neck before he pulls away, reaching back to shut off the stove. You turn in his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck as he turns back to you.
He pins you against the counter once more, molding his lips against yours as his hands trail back down your sides. You deepen the kiss, pulling him even closer. You can feel him, fully hard against your stomach now.
His hands grip your waist, easily lifting you onto the counter. One of your hands slides up to tangle in the curls that have regrown over the last few months. He groans quietly against your lips, hands parting your thighs for him.
He steps between your legs, your skirt riding up around your waist, revealing your panties underneath. His fingers rub the damp fabric, teasing you before he tugs them aside, meeting your flesh.
You moan into his mouth, pressing your hips into his hand as he circles your clit. You're already worked up just from kissing him, the familiar heat igniting under your skin from his touch.
"Kriff." You breathe against his lips, grinding against his hand. "Make me feel so good."
He hums contently against your lips. "Good. You deserve to feel good."
You slip a hand down his front, palming him through his pants. "I'd feel better with you inside me, though.".
He grins, pressing one more steamy kiss against your lips. "Yes, ma'am."
You shriek as he tugs you right to the edge of the counter, holding you steady with one hand while the other pulls his cock from his pants.
You wrap your arms back around his neck as he presses close between your legs, teasing your slit with the head of his cock. You moan quietly, playing with the ends of his hair as he slowly presses into you.
He groans, pressing his face into your neck as he slides into your warm passage, your body wet and ready for him.
It never gets old, the feeling being so connected to him invokes. Your very soul seems to hum with pleasure from being so close, so connected. You wrap your legs around him, holding him as close as you can as he settles inside you.
He presses a soft kiss to your lips as you sit in the moment for just a second, savoring the feeling before he begins moving. His thrusts are slow yet deliberate. They reach deep into you, the tip of his cock brushing that spot inside you over and over.
You won't last long, you know it as your legs begin to tremble around him. You moan against his lips, hands fisting his shirt as he picks up the pace just a little.
You whine as you cum around him, milking his own orgasm from his body. He moans into your neck, holding you tightly as he spills into you.
You stay still, just breathing and feeling each other for a few moments. Your hands gently massage his neck and his shoulders, easing the ache you know he feels from his cybernetics sometimes.
He presses gentle kisses to your neck, not enough to leave marks but still enough to pull quiet sounds from your lips.
He kisses a trail up your jaw to your lips, both of you pausing at the knock on the door.
"Hunter's gonna know." You murmur against his lips.
"He probably already does." Echo says, kissing you once more. "Probably heard us halfway down the street."
Your cheeks warm as he pulls away from you, fixing his clothes before helping you look presentable as well. You turn on the stove once more before pulling out the disinfectant spray.

The Bad Batch and Watching a Sunset (TBB x GN!Reader)
Summary: Sunsets can be pretty romantic and the Batch enjoy watching them with you.
Warnings: None. All fluff!
Tumblr media
Hunter
Hunter has convinced himself he isn’t much of a romantic, but you know different. Whenever the team finds a safe planet for a few days, he never misses a chance to watch the sunset by your side. With the sun gradually descending, he’ll prepare a dinner outdoors and chat with you, sharing jokes and opinions on trivial topics. Once you’re finished, he will lovingly cradle you in his lap as you watch the day depart.
During one memorable trip, Tech enthused all day about a rare sky phenomenon that graced the planet during sunset once every hundred cycles. Eager to share the experience with you, Hunter set out cushions by the ship, and invited you to join him. With his legs on either side of your hips and his arms tightly wrapped around your middle, you settled to watch the display. The sun set in a blaze of lilac and jade hues, and as the last arc of sunlight slipped below the horizon, the sky burst into a kaleidoscope of colours, translucent waves fluttering like a celestial blanket. In a moment of heightened awareness, Hunter told you to watch and pointed out a cluster of birds just before they emerged from the trees. You jokingly called him a show-off, but you wouldn’t trade being by his side for anything else in the galaxy.
Echo
Echo gets a little fussy when you both watch a sunset, but only because he wants you to be comfortable and most places outside lack suitable seating. When you nestle your head on his shoulder and draw nearer, he eases a bit and relishes the tranquillity of your shared time. You rarely get time to stop and enjoy some peace, so when you do, he savours every moment.
While watching one sunset, Echo recounted what they were like on Kamino. When the rain ceased and the clouds dispersed enough to make out the horizon, it was like watching a ruby drop into the water. Tiny and unimportant to most, but he found solace in it. No matter what happened, suns would always rise and fall and rise again. Rather like him. His peaceful expression captivated you, the lines near his eyes barely creased and the calm in his hazel eyes holding you spellbound. It was a rare sight, and you made a conscious effort to soak in every aspect. When you asked him to tell you more, he vividly recalled the strange weather he had witnessed and the funny situations it had caused, often involving lost brothers and their antics. Cuddling him again, you listened to his tales, the sun long gone and the stars lingering to listen too.
Wrecker
Wrecker is an expert at savouring sunsets and turns them into memorable evenings. He plans everything thoroughly, carefully selecting your favourite snacks and drinks, and arranging a cosy nest of blankets and pillows for the two of you. His primary goal is to lavish you not only with a picturesque scene but also with immense love and adoration that those quiet moments are perfect for.
One evening after an early dinner, Wrecker placed a blindfold over your eyes and carefully led you into the sparse copse close to where you landed. When he removed the fabric, a wave of awe washed over you. Dimmed lanterns gently swung between the boughs. As you approached the bank of the lake, you noticed a delightful arrangement of blankets and cushions, and a food hamper. He had even scattered vibrant petals around the area too. He gently grasped your hand and settled you down, pulling you close as the sun started to descend, all the while whispering words of love in your ear. You both spent the night there, sleeping in each other’s embrace until daylight broke again.
Crosshair
The first time you and Crosshair experienced a sunset together, it happened spontaneously. While hauling supply crates into the ship, you paused for a moment to witness the sky change. Noticing you’d stopped, Crosshair asked what you’d seen, thinking there was danger, but he relaxed a little once you explained you were merely fascinated by the way the sunlight cut through the trees. He couldn’t comprehend why some were so captivated by it, but you seemed to relish it, so he watched a little longer. The sunsets after that, you would sit in solitude, taking in the impressive sight. Eventually Crosshair joined you, secretly revelling in the way his surroundings grew calm. There were no loud noises or screams, or frightful sprints back to the ship. Everything was perfectly quiet.
Seated in a shaded spot and watching the bright star dip one peaceful evening, he began to talk. He knew you were curious about certain parts of his past, and he assured you that you were free to ask whatever you wanted. He’d answer honestly, no detail spared or horror held back. You caught the vulnerability in his voice and didn’t want to pry, but when you glanced up at him, you could see he wanted to tell you; he just needed a bit of prompting. So you asked him everything you had ever wondered, every brief allusion he had ever made to the dark patches in his past. True to his word, he opened up. With each sunset you witnessed together, he would divulge more, disclosing personal details that even his brothers didn’t know about and dismantling the emotional fortress he had built around himself.
Tech
When it comes to Tech, observing a sunset is initially approached as a scientific study. Every planet he visits, he positions himself at the best vantage point, datapad in hand as he records the angle of the descent, the trajectory, the variation in hues, and cross-references it with data from other planets. He will talk while he observes, explaining exactly what he’s doing to fill the silence between you. Your one-sided conversations often end with him rambling for some time, not that you mind. You can see the joy radiating from him as he indulges in it. But there’s a small part of you that wants nothing more than to nestle into his arms and watch it together. Over time, he notices small subtle cues that you aren’t enjoying the sunsets as much as he is, and after confiding in Wrecker, he realises why.
The next sunset was one you wouldn’t forget soon. You joined Tech as usual, plonking yourself down on the makeshift bench as the twin suns chased each other towards the eastern horizon. Fiery hues blended in the middle and the sky and began to burn gold, clouds and birds fleeing the impending night. For the first time since you can remember, Tech was not engrossed in the streams of information filtering through his datapad. In fact, you couldn’t see it anywhere on his person. He encircled his arms around your shoulders and brought you close to him. Instead of offering facts, he commented on the breathtaking beauty of the sunset and how he cherished the opportunity to experience it with you.

Hunter
He’s given you one of his bandanas. He has a fair collection of them, all the same color (little color coordinator hehe), and first gifted it to you when he left you on deployment, in his words, ‘As a way to remember him by.’ You like to wrap it around your wrist or tie it to your bedpost, staring at it on nights he’s gone. And bless the Maker if you ever wear it to match with him; he might just melt.
Hunter is also an early riser, but he is so light on his feet he has never woken you up once while slipping out of the bed early in the morning. You’ve been upset before because eventually you do wake up and realize he’s not there and have to search the Maurader or your apartment to bring him back to bed instead of wandering aimlessly.
This is a little embarrassing in his opinion (though you don’t mind at all), but he wants your scent on everything. He loves the way you smell, his heightened senses bless him with your calming, relaxing aroma he just associates with you and your loveliness. Wear his shirts, rest your head in the crook of his neck so he can smell your hair, and spray your perfume/cologne over his cot. It’s all the better when you’re away for a long time; if he’s having a rough day or experiencing a sensory overload, he can go to his cot and take in your scent; it calms him down almost instantly.
Always has his hand resting on your lower back while walking through a large crowd. He’s protective, yes, but if the two of you aren’t careening through throngs of civilians, it’s not typical for him to do this. But if you’re in a busy market down in Ord Mantell or some other planet, he’s always ready to grip your waist and point his blaster at any seeable threat.
Has been fantasizing about bringing his knives into the bedroom, but doesn't know how to tell you. Hunter is self-aware enough to know that it’s not a conventional kink, so he doesn’t want to scare you off of intimacy with him and also doesn’t want to risk hurting you, but fuck has he fantasized about it. And besides, he shouldn’t worry too much about accidentally hurting you; y’all know how dexterous he is with those knives, there’s no way it could slip as he twirls and trails it over your skin.
Tech
Tangles his legs with yours, without fail, every time you are sitting beside him. He's one of those ADHD people that needs to have their feet elevated for some reason (He's just like me frfr), and you're right there, the perfect footrest! He'll want to tangle your limbs together and have his feet propped up on the end of a couch or a stool or box, literally anything, but as long as his feet are up and he's touching you, he's as happy as a clam.
Has photos of you hung up all around his cot. Tech's recording hobby doesn't stop during missions or experimenting; he takes lots of images and videos of you as well through his helmet. He has a whole album of it in his files; he's printed out his favorite ones and put them by his bed so he always has you with him.
Actively searches for common interests and things you enjoy so the two of you can talk about them. He values quality time greatly and wants to spend every second he gets with you making you happy and making sure you love being around him just as much as he loves being around you. So if you express a liking or admiration for a certain topic, Tech will spew out all information, discussion points, and questions possible. He loves to see the way your face lights up when you get to talk about something you love.
Messages you every thought that comes to his mind, even if he’s right next to you. Although his brothers love him to death, they do tire of his endless train of incoherent ideas and tangents. You, however, don't mind it; you enjoy it in fact. So he's taken on the habit of sending frequencies your way with his random thoughts, whether about his current task at hand, an observation of someone else, or even about you.
Does extensive research on how to achieve maximum pleasure during sex. He falls on the end of the spectrum when it comes to sexual experience out of the Batch, but he makes up for it with his pursuit of knowledge and curiosity about you. He's always researching new positions, methods of foreplay and penetration, and even creating his own sex toys to also help in creating the experience as good as possible for the both of you. It's honestly great.
Wrecker
Loves to do your hair. You seriously don't know how or when he picked all of this up, but he's extremely talented at all different types of braiding, knots, everything. He wants to do it for you whenever the opportunity presents itself. And if you have short hair or cropped to your head, he'll brush your hair; he also enjoys washing it if you decide to shower together. His head massages are godddly.
Massive food sharer. If you have some snack you're munching on, unless you somehow are able to hide it from him, he's stuffing his hand into the bag or in your space to grab a couple bites for himself. But he also shares with you all the time, he's not that selfish. He's honestly more generous and giving than he is taking. You don't even have to ask half the time; Wrecker's already got a handful saved just for you.
Sneaks his hand up your shirt while cuddling to act as a heater. This man is just a massive
HUGS FROM BEHIND! Are you doing something that requires your back to face him while he's walking past, or doing something completely different? Don't EVER expect him not to for the hug. He scoops you up into his arms and squeezes you so tight, but also so cautious to not hurt you. It never fails to catch you by surprise and you squeal, absolutely terrified. Until you hear his booming laughter and a kiss against the side of your neck, and you melt into his embrace.
Has accidentally shoved you when he wasn’t looking down... It honestly happens more than you'd expect. And once he realizes it, he practically drops to his knees and begs for forgiveness (although he already has it). You know he doesn't mean to, but sometimes he just gets so excited that he just loses sense of his surroundings.
Crosshair
Dirty intrusive thoughts, 24/7. You walk out of a room while he's sitting down? Big mistake, his eyes are level with your ass; now the image of it bouncing while hitting it from behind has been conjured up? You walk up so close and look up at him with wide eyes? Uh oh, now he's imagining you on your knees. Sipping on a straw? Those hollowed-out cheeks should be around something else... You get what I mean.
Pinches your hips while walking past you, without fail. It's just a cheeky way of him saying hello that doesn't require much of him, but still conveys affection in a brief but understandable way. He even does it during actual intimate moments as a way to tease you. And look, even as he slowly becomes more comfortable being open and physically affectionate with you, he doesn't give up this; he just likes it too much. Besides, he'll never get sick of the little squeals you let out in surprise. It makes him chuckle every time.
Asks you to hold his toothpick for him if necessary and put it back when he’s done with what he was doing. Yk that meme of "Hold my flower" and "I got ur flower bby go kick his ass"? Yeah, this radiates that energy. If he wanna throw hands, take a sip of his whiskey, or kiss you without tossing away a perfectly good toothpick he will make you hold it. At first, you found it strange and even a little gross, but honestly, it's also very charismatic. A perfect combination of boyish, tough, and trusting.
Catalogs every single thing you say for future use, for better or for worse. Tell him your favorite drink? He orders it for you if he arrives early to 79's. Say you enjoyed something he did for you, either in general or sexually? He'll be doing it way more often now. But he also uses it to tease the hell out of you. If you tell him about embarrassing moments from childhood, slip up your words even just a little, or just be fucking clumsy? You poor child will never hear the end of it.
Sexting KING. Also really good at phone sex too. Like both he is so good at, you don't even know how he learned it or even have the time to do it, but oh my are you grateful. You both get off when he instructs you, orders you around and have you around his finger even if you are stars away.
Echo
Really good at massaging, but also loves to receive massages too. Even if you don't feel that you're good at it, he'll instruct you kindly to knead at the spots most tense and knotted up for him until he's moaning under you. But holy shit, he's so fucking good at giving massages; he can have you relaxed and blissed out in under 5 minutes. Echo's picked up on the skills from helping with his own tense muscles always connected to prosthetics and likes to provide services for you.
You always have to finish his plate; he’s a picky eater, and he's the type to dissect and push away the parts he doesn't like and crowd it all into one corner, but it ends up making his plate look like an excavation site. So you oh so kindly eat the parts that you like he insists taste horrible.
Likes to shower with you. He loves the intimacy of it, getting to clean each other up and be in such close proximity. He's also the type to crank up the water temperature to skin-burning levels because it's never fucking hot enough- but yeah, shower sex ends up happening a lot cause of this. Not that you're complaining.
Looks at you first when something happens to show his reaction; whether it be a look of disgust, confusion, amusement, or something else entirely, you are the first person he glances at. We already know he is expressive as hell, but he usually doesn't do that whole 'wordlessly exchange thoughts' thing, at least until you come along. You feel so privileged, weirdly enough, for you to be the first person he looks at. It's honestly so cute.
Has a favorite pillow in your apartment. He discovered that it was pretty early on, and you always seemed to notice that he wanted to lie his head on it more often than the others, but he didn't outwardly say it was his favorite until a little later. But now, that pillow is HIS, no one else can use it. It has a special place on your bed and you always make sure to wash it before he comes back from a string of missions and have it ready for him when he inevitably comes over and spends the night.
