RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : i think the biggest dealbreaker is having a lot of negative/guilt trippy ooc. and idk if this one is a common belief so much these days or maybe just not around here but the whole elitist attitude of higher word count = better writing. omg did that mentality grind my gears lmao. also just being intolerant in general of people's ideas/portrayals/anything and feeling the need to express it rather than just walking away.

MUSE PREFERENCES : female or femme apparently lol. when i had a multi they were all female characters so yeah. idk what it is, maybe i just put way too much pressure on myself when it comes to male characters but i just can't feel comfortable writing them even though there's so many i love. 😭 i also can't do villains. i love morally gray and angst and even dark themes as long as it can be balanced out with fluff and comfort and sweet things.

PLOTS OR MEMES : as much as i appreciate the ease of memes, they're a hit or miss a lot of the time for me. i rarely post them much nowadays but i do still like to send them in for others! i feel a lot more comfy plotting something first, even if it's just the bare minimum cause i like the certainty of being on the same page and making sure we want to write the same ideas.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : both! i just write whatever i'm feeling at the moment really, sometimes that's something short and casual or more long and introspective.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : definitely in the morning, or generally anytime right after i wake up while my brain still feels refreshed and uncluttered.

Alright, I was encouraged by the smol family of HeroKel shippers on here, so now that I have my ass in order, here's the Headspace Abuse AU I spawned out of some horny energy last month. xD

In one of the playthroughs of Omori I really like, they have this ongoing joke where Kel is just bullied all the time, especially by Hero and Aubrey.  Every time Kel says anything, Hero says stuff like, "Kel, I'm going to BEAT YOU when we get home" or "Ohh Keeeel, I'm getting the BELT!!" and it's just met with Kel screaming, "NOOOO NOT AGAIN PLEASE!" and everyone's laughing about it and stuff.  And man, I'm REALLY not usually into any kind of incest kinks (just personally not my thing), but I'd lowkey be fine with an rp/fic where Hero just abuses Kel all the time and has him basically trained to obey and cower out of fear. x'D

Adding onto that, I also had so much fun with the Basil deaths in Black Space, so now I just imagine like Basil is the Kenny of the group, and he just dies horrible deaths all the time and comes back later, and no one even bats an eye beyond giggling or saying, "Oh wow, he's gonna feel that in the morning, tee hee!"

And then when Basil goes missing, Hero and Aubrey start putting Kel through a lot more shit because even they they don't really notice it, Basil's constant deaths and pained screaming do keep them pretty entertained.

Omori isn't phased by any of it ofc, since he's kiiiind of the one pulling the strings here.

I'm not sure how Mari would respond to everything.  Maybe it would be funny if she just acted like she always does and almost as if the stuff happening is just silly goofy bickering or stubbed toes, and she'll say stuff like, "Awww, don't worry, Basil!  All you have to do for a spider bite is (I don't even know, but like generic advice for a single, non-venonous spider bite)!"  And Basil is just like, "-gross sobbing- O-okay...!" while being devoured alive by a billion spiders or chomped in half by a giant one ahahaha.

Then she'll tell Kel, "Aww, Hero got mad at you?  Well... you did step on his foot after all.  But just apologize and talk it over and I'm sure he'll come around in no time! ^u^" and this is like, what you tell someone if all the angry person did was snap at them or get upset and leave for a bit.  But Hero literally broke a branch off the nearest tree and beat Kel with it until it broke lmao.

It's like... ultra horrific tbh?  But I kind of love soaking in more of that type of freaky shit.  It's almost appealing BECAUSE it's the absolute last thing that should ever be happening??

Kel is an absolute sweetie and deserves the world, Hero is a kind and patient big brother who immediately apologized and improved himself the one time he was ever really mean to Kel, and Aubrey is honestly a very good person despite putting on an edgy face when she got older and trying to push people away.  She's never out to truly hurt anyone.

So it's kinda fun to twist them up in this awful way, especially since the game itself kind of already did most of the work for me and all I did was enjoy that and also take a meme from a video series and run with it.

I mean holy shit, there's legit a whole scene in Black Space where Basil's DW friends all beat him to death and then act like everything is normal and fun. It's CANON, and everything I wrote here is of a similar caliber, just with the invitation to view it as abusive shipping if the reader desires.

((Honestly there isn't one writer who has influenced me. In fact, I would say that all of my rp partners have influenced me one way or the other, whether it's been to go more in depth with my muses, or write longer replies, etc.))

((I think my favourite, to this day remains Will. He's the easiest for me to write, and he's stuck around quite a long time. Even when I take breaks from the pokemon rpc/breaks from Will, he'll come back sooner or later and be stronger than before ;u;))

((Tbh the muses I really wanted to try are on their own separate side blog, and at this moment I do not have any that I want to test out on this blog.

((So some of the popular trends I can remember from like 2011-2012 were:

Magic anons - I used to find these amusing until people started to use them for fetish mining, or doing the absolute weirdest shit that became uncomfortable.

Crack rp blogs - I remember seeing rp blogs for meme characters (Shrek) being in either rp groups or on indie and the rp's that followed were nothing short of crack filled, and it was fantastic.

Tinychats - These were popular with Pokemon rp groups back in the day and some of them got absolutely wild. I remember the ones from Edge of Glory...

Crack anons - These are rarer to come across now a days, but these anons would be super silly and it would be fun to answer them in character.

Fandom rp groups - I remember when fandoms had closed rp groups before indie blogs became popular. Some of them were really fun, and I have good memories from them. Pokemon had a good chunk, but I was also in Bleach ones (and later a Bleach + Naruto one). Good times.

An add on to this: I miss the days when MFRP (Multi fandom rp groups) were all the rage on Tumblr. Now there's like, two. I had a blast in ones like Tranche de Vie, Citta Alveare, the early days of Isola and many, many more ;u; ))

Do you relate to your favorite character(s)?

Yes and no.

My fondness for China and Norway isn't one based on their characters because I haven't fleshed them out (yet) in my head. I have no idea how to write for either of them! I genuinely would love to spend a day cooking, painting, or just talking with Yao. I yearn for platonic companionship and Yao isn't chaotic and we share similar interests. Our aesthetic interests are very different, but oh well!

I don't know what Lukas has to offer tbh, he's entirely eye candy to me (sobbing).

My fondness for France and Ukraine has to do with self imposed headcanons.

My Francis is honestly probably ooc -- but I don't care. I have taken these guys and run away with them. A lot of my Hetalia writing is Human AU because I have a hard time connecting with immortal creatures as someone who cannot see what even the next year of their own life looks like. I guess what Francis and I share is a fondness for food and art (like with Yao), but those aren't activities I would want to do with Francis. We can both be dramatic, I will over-dress just to go out with a friend, and we're both a bit pathetic. While my Francis isn't like early canon France (you know what I mean...), he's still a romantic. I am not.

I don't think it's a necessarily rare headcanon, but I see Miss Ukraine as fat. She's plus size to me and that's something we share. I've been wanting to write a Kateryna centric oneshot about the difficulties and mental struggles that come with shopping as a fat person, but I haven't been in a reading/writing mindset recently and this topic would be a bit taxing on me. One day, though!! I'm still formulating my characterization of her... CanUkr oneshot is STILL in development hell.

TLDR: Yes because I impose bits of myself onto Francis and Kateryna for RP and writing purposes and also for comfort. No because a good handful of my favorites (including some not named) are just little guys I'd like to put in a shoebox and shake around.

10. How long have you been in the fandom? What's your lore?

In 7th grade a friend told me I might like Hetalia because I liked geography and history was my strongest subject in school. I cannot remember when exactly I checked it out, but I definitely was into by Spring 2014. I literally have emails from back then of memes we exchanged...

My best friend and I met online at the end of that school year and we actually started talking because he played this video over skype screen share. Fast forward to the summer and I'm drawing, writing fic, and we made our Hetalia Instagram account. There were three of us. It was essentially just a repost account because we were all in middle school. I never really interacted with others from the fandom other than the two friends I ran the account with, both of whom I still talk to <3

Our instagram account died off sometime around 2018. We deleted it around 2020-2021.

I came back to Hetalia by a freak accident. I was going through my old google drive and rediscovered the three-way-POV fic my friends and I wrote and immediately ran into our group chat. It was a bad fic. Basically Hetalia in the setting of Outlast meets FNAF vibes. Yes, it was a Wattpad fic... (now deleted). We made the joke of rewriting it, but that thought only lasted for one night. Then out of curiosity I got back into listening to the official character songs, and that's what did it for me... (shoutout to "Aiyah, 4,000 Years," "Mein Gott," "Overflowing Passion," "Maji Kandou ☆ Hong Kong Night," and the Hetaloid song "Brother Complex").

Got back into reading fic. Somehow I went through my original stint in the fandom without reading "Gutters" and that's what pulled me back into fanfic. Made an A03. Eventually figured, why the hell not, and made a Hetalia Tumblr so I could stop using my personal account.

I did have that hiatus, but I guess I could say I've been into Hetalia for 10 years now, which is nuts. I definitely had a period of regret and revulsion from 2019-2022, but still kept up with "oh, they made a new season" or revisiting some old art.

4. What's a headcanon you need to work out?

A lot of my headcanons have to do with Human AU FACE fam because I use them to cope with things, but I guess something that's been on my mind lately is the Tudor dynasty. My senior thesis, far before I got back into Hetalia, was actually supposed to be about the Tudors, but I abandoned it for something else. I recently got a book about the entire dynasty for my birthday and have yet to take a peek at it. I would love to write a fic where France or Marianne visits England over several Christmases to explore the relationship of Arthur/Francis or Alice/Marianne as England & France's relationship changes through the changing of the monarchs and especially as Henry VIII cycles through wives like calendars. I have to do research about it, though. I need to see how realistic it would be considering the on-again-off-again relationship between England and France (1520 The Field Of The Cloth Of Gold meeting vs Henry wanting to prove his military strength and trying to invade France). Funnily enough, I know almost nothing about France in the 15th and 16th centuries outside of :

1. Mary Tudor's [Henry VIII's sister, not his daughter, Mary I] brief stint as Queen Consort of France & Anne Boleyn's subsequent time at the French court as a lady in waiting to Mary

2. how Henry VIII repeatedly used war against France as an attempt to prove his strength [eyeroll]

To be honest, that fic is entirely an excuse to explore the different influence each of Henry's queens has over the court through various means. I don't think anyone else would really be interested though, so it may be something I keep to myself.

Hetalia Ask Game

alright, time for an official ooc post and a moment of complete transparency:

my goal with this blog, this time, is to collect a nice little group of people to write our portrayals with before i go full private. like, closed to new rp partners private. it had always sort of been my intention last time but when i joined the ff rpc the remake had just dropped and the actual group of people was pretty large - with new muses being picked up and dropped pretty frequently. and it was great! tbh, i kind of miss how busy everything felt, the dash was never really slow and everyone was chatting.

but my list of mutuals got out of control and i spoke to less than 1/4 of them one way or the other. i made some amazing friends, i met some people whose portrayals were incredible and honestly influential to my aerith, and time went on. but i often felt as if i was someone people just followed, maybe noted occasionally, but never really interacted with. and i am here to write, so i won't let that happen this time.

i'm going to do my best to reach out to people i follow first. i'm going to be re-doing my carrd (currently a wip, with more stern rules, too) and attempting interactions. if things sincerely don't work out - if the interest isn't there (and that's totally fine) i will softblock to break the mutual. likewise, if i've sent a few memes / inbox things to get interactions started and they go unanswered for a period of time, i will softblock to break mutuals. that show me you're not interested - and that's also fine. i just want to keep things clean on my side.

i'm going to be 33 in less than a month and this is very much a hobby for me. that being said - my goal is not to make longstanding, close, irl friendships. if it happens, that's great, but i'm very wary of befriending people in the rpc because of a few instances (one of which was a stalker who did harrass me a bit on my first rendition of aerith, who knew my irl address - and tracked me on multiple blogs in attempts to reach out, even a year+ later). i'm not really interested in getting super close to people like that because of how i've been burned before. you can write with someone, chat with them ooc, but not need to know their blood type and their SS# as well.

if you are one of those blogs that has preferred writing partners - and has them on their pinned post, and has a preferred aerith ... and you follow me - i am likely going to softblock you to break that. you have an aerith you prefer to write with, and that's amazing. i don't really know why you're interested in my portrayal, and i'm flattered, but you have a main that you already do most of your writing and ideas with so i'm not sure where i'd fit into that.

i will not be duplicate friendly. i am not duplicate friendly. i can admire other aerith's - and i do, and i support you, but in my experience following one another is just us ... following one another. and if we do write, it's usually the "one aerith is a clone / sister" and that doesn't really go very far. just maybe two posts, etc. i support you guys, i love you guys, but i don't see us having a writing history. and with the ultimate goal of this blog being finding partners to write with in the long haul, i don't see this happening for us. best of luck to you.

🍪 my favorite roleplay memory

ohhh this is an interesting one!!! hmm... y'know, i have a few favorite memories on here, most of them centering around fond memories with some of the friends i've made through hanging out in the rpc.

y'know... i think one of my favorite memories, though, was when i was still really active on my old sally face blog, and there was this stretch of time when i received a lot of really friendly anons who were excitedly reading along with my threads and wanted to share their thoughts. i thought that was kinda fun tbh! perhaps a bit much at times, but it was cool that even people who weren't actively part of those threads were having fun.

☎️ my first character i ever roleplayed

so i know this whole questionnaire thing is about the tumblr rpc specifically, but i also wanna answer this for like. characters i've roleplayed in general.

my very first muse on tumblr was saitama from one punch man--specifically an au depicting saitama as a trans woman. she was a lot of fun to write and develop, but i was so new to the tumblr rpc and *incredibly* shy so i never really approached anyone first, so she never got much attention. lately i've been considering writing saitama again, but i don't think i'll write this au in particular ever again--my girl can rest <3

as for first character *in general*, that's a bit more complicated. i mainly rp'd ocs back when i wrote on quotev with close friends, and during my time in some rp groups on discord. i don't really remember who was the first oc i ever roleplayed as, but i do remember the first canon character i roleplayed as! or at least one of them.

that would be dr. robert langdon from the da vinci code series! i had a pretty long stretch of being hyperfixated on those books, and they're still pretty near and dear to my heart! i've been really meaning to reread angels & demons tbh... and maybe i'll bring my boy robert back. maybe. i do miss him.

⭐️ my roleplay pet peeves

i don't have a lot of these! i like to think i'm pretty chill most of the time, and i like to emphasize good communication as much as i can (though i will be the first to admit i'm not always the best at that lmao). most of my pet peeves *are* just about communication with other muns, but i don't encounter them very often. i guess my biggest pet peeve would really just be muns who don't communicate *at all* ooc.

but i guess. second to this would be people who don't read about pages in the slightest. i totally understand if they're not mobile accessible or easy to read, but i think it's really important to familiarize yourself as much as possible with your writing partners' muses. even if they're writing canon muses you're familiar with, it's important to learn what they bring to the table and how they're portraying the character. i'm not saying you need to catch up on all the lore right away, but just! get to know em a bit.

🐠 why i love (or hate) this hobby

i love this hobby because it gives me a lot of time to really indulge in developing and writing characters, and also just. collaborative storytelling is one of my favorite things in the whole fucking world, haha! also, it's led to me meeting a lot of really fun, interesting people, some of whom are my best friends in the world! i actually met two of my partners through rp groups! :3c

🔑 my favorite type of threads

y'know, i don't think i have a single favorite type of thread, but one thing i'm always a goddamn sucker for is hurt/comfort. i love to indulge a little in angst but then in the recovery after the angst.

i also really like threads that really give me the chance to dig my claws into a character's psychology, or ones that let my partner do the same. we're telling a story together, so show me what you've got and go all the fuck IN on these characters with me!

Back when I first started, it was SUPER easy to get RPs going. I would have TONS of threads going at once. Everyone gave greeters and just communities were more welcoming? Like when you joined a fandom people would just SUCK you right in. Nowadays it feels like everyone is in their little group, and you have to know someone to get into the group to settle in your little nest and get interactions. People aren't as welcoming. Nowadays it feels sometimes I feel like a follower count.. I'll send in asks and post starter calls and stuff-- and either A. I get nothing, or B. It's people I am familiar with. I miss when it was SO easy to interact with other people..

Also drama-- back then like, drama was HARDLY a thing. It still happened, but it was usually a rare sight. People usually handled things in PRIVATE than letting it flood out into public. Idk what happened.. I don't know if it's cuz I'm old and younger folks are just ready for drama or what??? Idk, I recall never seeing like, a single call out when I first started RPing on here. But that was over ten years ago. I really miss just things being handled in private and handled in a mature manner.. I'm tired of seeing it on my dash sometimes tbh.

han junjae, third year photography + business administration student, absolute idiot

comes from a wealthy background - raised in gangnam, he’s the second son of the han family, they own the successful tech firm hanrang tech

he has an older brother who’s the golden child and set to be the next chairman, meanwhile his parents never paid much attention to him bc his older brother already fulfilled all the criteria they need from a child. he doesn’t really mind tho cuz that means he’s not subject to the same expectations they hold his brother to and he can do whatever he wants (just kidding he’s a grade a attention seeker. see next point)

got shipped off to mugunghwa after he stole his older brother’s girlfriend for the lolz and kinda ruined his relationship with his family - not that it was great in the first place

sleeps his way through class, copying his answers from others. has probably the crappiest gpa in mugunghwa. it’s honestly a wonder how he made it in in the first place - he chose his majors on a whim and isn’t particularly passionate about anything. to date, the portfolio that helped him get into mugunghwa still contains the best photos he’s ever taken (and he’s satisfied with that tbh, he has no intention of pushing himself to improve). now he does the bare minimum for every assignment. he’s the type of guy you would pray to never get in ur group bc he would not gaf about helping

he’s used to living life lavishly but ever since he moved to mugunghwa he’s had to grapple with no longer having a bank account with seemingly unlimited funds to turn to (his father cut him off, only his mother sends a small amount every month now). so you’ll see him talking big like “hmm i feel like having steak today” and getting chased out of the restaurant when the cashier realises he doesn’t have enough to pay. he’s blacklisted from at least 5 restaurants in mugunghwa for this reason lol

doesn’t really care about much, will promise you something and immediately break it 20 seconds later. messed up moral compass tbh, he’ll do anything to have a good time

member of the howlites (but he skips practice all the time so he’s on the verge of getting kicked out tbh) and lead singer of miss tate (ya he likes rock music... is a little too relaxed about the band, which probably gets on the other members’ nerves?) 

he’s unabashedly confident about everything, even things he’s obviously crap about. would flirt with anyone and everyone within a 50-metre radius regardless of what he thinks of them/they think of him. knows how to manipulate things to get what he wants but he’s also an idiot so this isn’t necessarily foolproof since most people manage to see past his tricks

a serial clubber. if there’s one complaint jj has about the small town of mugunghwa, it’d be that it doesn’t have as great of a nightlife scene as itaewon. he wants to own a club in the future lol (who knows how realistic of a goal that is given his lack of business acumen - or common sense)
