Just got a new children's book for my classroom at the little library. I have determined Petra Brown is currently my favorite children's book illustrator.

the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.

if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.

As a preschool teacher who has been through a million different co teachers this past summer after my co teacher I worked with for a year got promoted I am struggling and burnt out.

As a person in this world though, while I understand that 3 is not an ideal age group for everybody I cannot imagine hating any room in the building of the school I work in. Like I’d go on any room any age and be happy to be there. Some are better than others but I’d never say I hate any of them. I’d never say ‘I have to get out of there’. I’d never not want to spend time with any of the kids in my building.

And at some point even though I know it’s not logical I’m starting to wonder if it’s my fault. Is my classroom that bad because of me? Because I’m not doing a good job? I just feel like I’m failing which feels super shitty because that would mean I’m failing my kids and I can’t do that.
