When I was dying of an ear infection back in December, I had the most vivid dream of Morpheus from The Sandman sitting at the foot of my bed telling me that my life was one of his tools that he needed back. In exchange for my life, Morpheus promised me he would go back in time to stop me from making a mistake that I wished I hadn't done.

I chose working on this fucking thing.

Don't get me wrong, Tsunaida had the best plot out of the series and all of Yoshio Akira's works. I'd even go as far as saying it's one of the best releases of its time—it was nominated for Best Series in the 2021 chilchil awards for a reason (it was robbed, I tell you). It's just my life has gone downhill since I picked this up. HAHAHAHAHA Not to mention, older Chesk was bad and cringe. I'm sorry for arguing with you over this series, Kimmy. It wasn't worth it.

This series is still ongoing, only god knows why. I got so sick of it to the point that I started hating Yoshio Akira and forgetting all about the plot, so I didn't expect myself to cry during the climax HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCK WHY WAS THIS STILL SO GOOD???? I'M ANNOYED I still hate it tho

I forgot just how painful this was. I'm at this point in my life where if that would happen to me, I would just LEAVE.

Anyway, onto the topic of the BLCD...

I didn't think it was going to be possible, but Shingaki really changed his Hara-san tone!!! Thank god! This is it! This was exactly the tone I envisioned his Hara-san would be in! I'm not sure if it's 'cause everyone from the producers (except the director) and the sound team was changed, but Tsunaida and Kanawanu are worlds apart. I usually dislike inconsistencies in series with multiple installments, but I'll let this slide. Let's all just pretend that Kanawanu doesn't exist.😌

Egu also went a pitch higher in this. It's still far from what I wanted for Kaoru, but he was able to make the role his own. I'm not sure if it's because of the change in the mixing, but Egu finally sounds like he was recording with everyone here. I said in my review for Kanawanu that he wasn't syncing with his own brother, Kakeru, and it turns out that Egu actually was voicing Kakeru too lmao. How can you not sync with yourself, man? But that just means that the mixing for Kanawanu was that bad. I haven't listened to Tabete mo Oishikuarimasen yet, but I feel like Egu and Shingaki should've been nominated for Tsunaida. I mean, Shingaki is a queen as Yashiro and his nomination is deserved, but let's all put those older series to rest now. 😂

I also missed Nakajiki as Keiji-san!!! He promised to bring Hiro along next time, so if I'm not hearing Saitou Souma in Musunda, I will riot! No, I didn't check the cast list.

The BLCD is pretty accurate to the manga, save for that extra bathroom sex in Track 2. It's quite long, but there isn't any complex dialogue, so I suggest just closing your eyes and absorbing the bathroom bambo. 😌 I actually wished it was longer toward the ending chapter because I felt that it was rushed in the manga, but alas. I've read Renta's license, and it's accurate as well. In conclusion, get this if you like the series. 100% recommend!

Ron turned around and gathered the sleeping man in his arms. Who would have thought that after five years practically living like a hermit another person, a warm body, was next to him, willing to be with him?

Toto moaned, but his eyes were still closed. Exhaustion took over after the revelation and danger of the Plateau Auberge case. What he and Toto discovered was all too much to take in.

The police officer suffered minor burns, a scratch on his left cheek marred his almost perfect face. And Ron? He thought he would die, and the case was his last deduction. Toto, the ever loyal, came back for him. Lying on the floor of a burning luxury hotel, the brown-haired man told him to get his shit together. But there was no way out, the fire engulfed the whole building. Ron and Toto exchanged glances. A smile on their faces. That was the moment they decided to die together. Toto seated next to him, like always, and the rescue team arrived like in a dream.

There’s a new project by MintLip called Star Sign. 

I’m giggling at some of the couplings here, for reasons (most of them are BL related obviously xD). I mean - Makonyan & Takuchan, Taru & OnoYu (four of the BL gods who’ve been paired together many times on BLCDs, and all of them are on the same team! Team01), Ryouta & Yuuma (I haven’t listened to their BLCD yet but I’m hyperventilating just thinking about it!). 

Also, what the hell are those poses?? I’m shocked! In a good way. The blue haired ones are TWINS!! *____* 

So far, visual-wise, my fav is Tosshi’s chara - the one with green hair and white shirt in the coupling photo. He’s so gorgeous!!

Happy Birthday Souma Saitou! (Apr 22)

A happy 28th birthday to the singer and voice actor. He’s really smart. He studied literature at Waseda university which is one of the most prestigious in the country. He graduated with great marks even though he was working two jobs. During that time he put his seiyuu career on hold. He has two little sisters who he grew up with, and he generally is a very interesting guy.

While he does have a literature degree, he also has a lot of roles. This doesn’t count games, BLCDs, or anything else besides anime (that may or may not be game adaptations). He sings with a group called SOLIDS (I think), and he currently raps with Hypnosis Mic.

After that, watched “Martian Succesor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness” recommenced by a friend and decided to be a seiyuu as he was inspired by Yamadera Koichi’s character.

Voiced in the remake Space Battleship Yamato 2199 as Katou Saburou, fulfilling his dream of voicing with Yamadera.

Achieved Best Supporting Character Awards in 2014 and 2016 tho he has no luck in MC

Characteristics

Has a natural mid-range voice, therefore often gets cool / calm Sports Captain roles. To other people, Hosoya can also be seen as a man who’s calm with few words.

Because he started as acting in Western works, he’s better at “natural calmness” performances rather than exaggerated.

Mostly voices young characters from straightforward to cold ones. Also can voice as some bad “Uncle” (Ixion Saga DT as Pet)

Basically after Takamatsu Shinji’s (animator) favourtism, his image has disappeared (this is a compliment)

Maybe because Hosoya’s tone is a little plain (Hey!!) he rarely voices as MC but as supporting roles (MC’s friends etc)

For some reason, always voice some “big Brother” characters and recently, 80% of his roles are muscular guys

Accepted more roles as he grew popular.

Voiced as an insane character in a game “Princess Arthur” and received praise for it.

Before that, also voiced incanely in “Edel Blume” but the game wasn’t good so it wasn’t popular

I’ve kind of run out of space so I’m going to do a separate post later. For now, I’m so glad I decided to rewatch anime or I wouldn’t have found out about this adorable dork who made me who I am. I just came back from Japan after studying there for about 4 months, and it had just been the best knowing we were in the same country, breathing the same air, almost living in the same city. 

While I didn’t manage to go to a Hosoyan event, I would definitely go at least once just to “meet” and see him live. 

I love him with all my heart and wish him the best in everything.

Can I ask you something about how do seiyuus or voice actors record the "love scenes" in BLCDs? are they in the same room?! do you think they get turned on or something?! I'm jsut curious coz I just finished listening to the Vol. 5 of Saezuru. Shingaki Tarusuke sans moans killed me. Help!

I can only tell you what I picked up from interviews or cast talks, so I’m definitely not an expert or anything, but yes, usually all the seiyuu who record a scene together would be in the same room. Those who aren’t in the scene wait in the back of the studio. During love scenes it is especially important that the seme actor and the uke actor work together as a team, because if their own breathing doesn’t match their partner’s, the whole scene sounds off. It’s a lot of work to make it sound natural.

Shingaki-san nowadays plays more seme than uke roles, because he needs less air for them, as he says. I haven’t listened to any BLCDs lately, but I think he mentioned in a cast talk somewhere (probably on one of the Danshi koukousei hajimete no CDs, because they all have 30+ minute long sex scenes) that he almost hyperventilated during one scene due to his excessive breathing. They seem to record those scenes in one take if possible, and you can definitely hear his voice crack near the end. He even sounds hoarse afterwards.

Which means love scenes are hard, because they require a lot of concentration and timed breathing. So, I don’t think the seiyuu get turned on doing them. Maybe if they’re really into their role and the scene isn’t too difficult, but with the production staff listening in the background and giving commands … Well, I’m not a guy, so I don’t know, but for me it would be a turn-off.

BUT in the cast talk of Saezuru drama CD 2 Ryuuzaki’s voice actor Miyake Kenta openly praises Shingaki-san’s incredible sex appeal! And Hatano Wataru (Doumeki) enthusiastically agrees saying Shingaki-san’s nuanced play during sexy scenes gives him goose bumps. Sooo, the Shingaki-Effect™ seems to be universal LOL!

Oh, and I just remembered, on drama CD 1 during the scene where Ryuuzaki is introduced, and he has that short dispute with Yashiro in front of the Lexus, Yashiro grabs him by the balls, lowers his voice and says how he will keep his asshole empty for Ryuuzaki in an agressive-seductive voice that gives me shivers. It seems Miyake-san had a reaction there too, because he said in an interview later that when he prepared that scene, he didn’t know why there is a panel of Ryuuzaki looking down irritated after Yashiro’s line in the manga. But after he heard those words spoken by Shingaki-san he finally understood what that panel is probably supposed to mean, and is very grateful to Shingaki-san for making that discovery possible with his superb acting. Hmmm, i wonder what could he possibly mean by this?  (¬‿¬)

She has posted several countdown-to-BLCD artwork which are really cute and beautiful! <3 but it has a lot of designs, and I think that it would be difficult to clean, unless… @last-narcissus wants to *w* hehehe (even though she’s already editing and cleaning the DJs for us >A<)

Reminder that the last day for Colouring Contest Public Voting is 27 October, Friday, 6pm GMT+8. To be honest, I didn’t expect the votes to reach a total of 1,000 (sasuga~). I may need to re-consider the scans’ team voting quantity, if not we won’t make much impact.. maybe 100 for each team member instead of 10?

isamu's va was ryo in all the old devilman ovas including cb chara go nagai world but i don't think he was in amon apoc

akira's va was kakashi but he was also the worst character in junjou romantica and he has also voiced in an ABSURD amount of r18 blcds???? you can just find these??????? and he's also in the jpn dub of like...friends and possibly also seinfeld? i can't remember exactly
