okay i'm sure it's obvious by stuff i've said before now but i'll say it outright: people acting like the paris24 phi girlies are bigger pioneers for gymnastics in the philippines than carlos yulo makes me want to start screaming
As the Team Philippines wraps up the Paris 2024 Olympics campaign, let us appreciate all 22 athletes who competed and brought glory to the Philippines! Your dedication, hard work, and passion have all inspired us.
Perhaps a hot take, but personally I find it lowkey annoying how much people were hyping up Jordan Clarkson and hyping up the fact that he's playing for Gilas Pilipinas. I mean, I GET IT. I do. An NBA player representating the Philippines. That's GREAT. but I think he was hyped up way too much that it took a toll on the team. To the point that they're relying way too much on him. To the point that when he fouled out (earlier today in Gilas' game against the Dominican Republic) it made SUCH an impact. I mean, of course it makes sense. But yeah. They still had enough talent to get them a win. And I truly believe they could've won.
And I think another thing that, for lack of better words, pulled the team down was Clarkson's reaction to fouling out. The look on his face. He looked so defeated. So disappointed. Like he was so frustrated. And I mean, he must've been, sure. It'd be completely understandable. But its not really something he can afford to show. He can't afford to look as if he has no faith in his teammates. It'll definitely effect they're playing, especially with how much the Philippines seemed to have put him on a pedestal. Plus, he may have been on the bench, but he still could've brought so much to the team. He could've lifted their spirits. Reminded them who they are. What they can do. And who they're playing for.
But ah well. In the end, they still did great. Twas a close game!! And they still have my full heart and support. Plus, this is just the first game. I know they can still bounce back. So long as they don't lost faith in themselves and their teammates.
Thank You, God, for protecting and providing for our athletes and their team sa Olympics. Lord, thank You for fulfilling Your purpose in the Olympics and in our country. Lord, may the sports not be our altar - may it be just an instrument to get to know You and glorify Your name. May our athletes depend on You, not just their abilities. Thank You, God. Thank You, for raising up Philippines.
Since Faith In The Future era is now over, here’s an unreleased video of Louis giving a shoutout to Manila during our listening party and promoting his new album! ❤️🖤
HiruSena ft. Philippine jeepneys (the most common method of transportation here)
CONTEXT: When jeeps are full during rush hour, it's normal to see two to four men hanging onto the back of the jeep by the railings. This shit is dangerous, because if you lose your grip while the jeep is moving, you'll get into an accident.
This is also something that both Hiruma and Sena would definitely do.
RIP HiruSena, you would have loved commuting via clinging onto jeeps like your life depends on it (and it does)

EDIT: It has a playlist now on YouTube and Spotify!
FINALLY after years of silence our Philippines-set game Until Then has a demo up on Steam now!!!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1574820
If you check the steam page out you can see our team talk about inspirations and tidbits about the game (I'm there too talking as the lead environment artist, hi mom 😭) I think its' fair to say that this is a pretty historic moment for SEAgaming and PH with gaming in general.
You can check the announcement trailer here on Playstation <3
