They met in potions class in 7th year. Slughorn randomly (or not so randomly) assigned them as partners for a project.

He is the best Hufflepuffs chaser (untill Tonks)

She played quidditch till 5th year when Druella made her give it up 'you won't find a pure blood well connected match if you keep playing'

She missed playing but understood that it was her duty to please her family

She used to watch him play quidditch in the stands (she enjoyed watching him a little to much)

He was hot, proper steamy built blond blue eyed hot

She was stunning

They were a hot couple

She loved her sisters more than anything and it broke her having to choose Ted over them

She was engaged to Rabastan Lestrange and wanted an escape out of that life. She watched her sister be miserable with her marriage and was terrified of becoming that unhappy. Ted was her 'ticket out of here'

All Would Be Well

Andromeda huffed. Why did her stupid mother make her go to these stupid dinners with stupid Rabastan and his stupid face? Oh, that's right, they were betrothed, much to the dismay of Sirius.

"Hurry up, Andromeda!" Bellatrix screeched. "We're gonna be late!"

"Coming!" She hollered back. Andromeda breathed in, then out. Sorry Ted, she thought, you don't deserve having someone that isn't entirely yours.

She took the steps two at a time, passing Sirius, who was in a heated debate over blood purity with one of the paintings. Pecking her favorite cousin on the cheek as she passed him, she mentally prepared herself for the night. She knew if she was ever going to get out it was now. She already clued Sirius in on her plan, but she wasn't a Gryffindor. She didn't know if she had the courage to go through with it.

"Honestly, Andromeda, you're always making us late!" Druella scolded.

"Sorry," she replied halfheartedly.

Once they got to the Lestrange household, Rabastan gave Andromeda a curt nod and Bella and Rodolphus stiffly embraced before talking about the benefits of the Dark Lord's cause.

Primrose Lestrange nee Parkinson sniffed haughtily down at Andromeda despite only being an inch taller. "So, Andromeda, tonight we will have you and Rabastan sign the contract so you're officially engaged."

Once the contract was signed, she had to go through with marrying him or else she would die. "You know, I was thinking—"

Druella interrupted her with a forced giggle. "You don't have to think." She looked at Andromeda with a look that said very clearly: don't blow this.

"Anywho, I was wondering. Do Rabastan and I really have to get married?"

Everyone froze. Bellatrix and Rodolphus paused in the middle of their conversation, Francis Lestrange looked at her aghast from his wheelchair, Druella adorned the angriest look Andromeda had ever seen on her face, ad Rabastan looked physically pained. Which was fair. When someone that's basically your fiancée objects to marrying you, that's a little offensive.

"What did you just say?" Primrose's nostrils flared.

Defiantly, Andromeda mustered up her courage, looked her in the eyes, and repeated herself. "I said, I don't want to marry your son."

Primrose grit her teeth through her forced smile. "And why wouldn't you?"

"I have a boyfriend."

Druella's eyes narrowed. "Who?"

"Ted Tonks. He's a Hufflepuff." Andromeda said.

That only worsened matters. "And his blood status?" Druella asked.

"Muggleborn."

That broke the dam. Druella's face went from flushed in anger to redder than a tomato in a few seconds. "What?! Your father would be rolling in his grave!"

"Yeah, erm, I really don't care about that." Andromeda winced, waiting for the inevitable shrieks.

"HOW DARE YOU?! YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE HOUSE OF BLACK! You are no longer welcome at Grimmauld Place!"

Andromeda nodded before apparating to Grimmauld Place to get her things. She was sad, yes, after all, she would be leaving Sirius and Narcissa, and Regulus, and Bellatrix behind (because as much as she pretended to hate her sister, she loved her), but she looked forward to a future with Ted. All would be well, she reassured herself.

Tedromeda fanfics

As time goes by I start to think this is the relationship I am more curious about in the whole HP universe. Ted Tonks is the Hufflepuff whose love and patience won Andromeda’s heart. Andromeda is the Black that got away and, despite the hardships, had a full and happy life. Teddy is her shining star, her beacon, in the end. 

Tedromeda is one of the best love stories in canon. And yes, for fancast I really like Keira Knightley and James McAvoy for Andy x Ted.

the lost generation (Chapters 5, 12 and 17) by Jennbob | Multichapters - Ongoing | Wolfstar and Jily | I sincerily worship the way Andromeda is portrayed in these chapters, her relation with Cissy, Sirius and Ted Tonks is, in my opinion, brilliantly explored. In fact, this fanfic does an amazing job in portraying the Black family, Regulus and Alphard Black are two other characters I am particularly fond of in this fanfiction.

The thing I like the most in this love story is how support characters are developed and their stories intertwined with the two main characters - Andy and Ted. It’s a comforting love story, I am enjoying a lot reading it.

YULE BALL EDITION - 15th JANUARY 1983

Where do I begin? The Yule Ball was definitely less dramatic than All Hallows Eve, but when the entrance fee includes free alcohol drama was bound to unfold. Generally, when it comes to getting drunk on cheap champagne we tend to allow our hearts to drive us. JAMES POTTER was one of the first to let it go to his head. To say that he had an eventful night would be an understatement. It seems like he has overcome his obsession with redheads (to LILY EVANS delight I’m sure) and has diversified his selection pool. Not only was he seen baking biscuits with NARCISSA BLACK the week before, but he was also spotted entering the wizard’s bathroom with EDWARD TONKS with his pants around his ankles. Considering that the two men came out with different trousers on, whatever went on there must have been so steamy that they couldn’t see who’s pants were who’s. Two down, a few to go. James then found his way to EDGAR BONES. Sure, sometimes a kiss means nothing like the kiss that LUCIUS MALFOY and AMELIA BONES shared whilst trapped under enchanted mistletoe. However you could see literal sparks fly as these two allowed their lips to embrace. Obviously Edgar’s kissing skills must be horrid as James was then later seen trying to make out with CLARICE FARIBAULT. Dearest James, I hate to burst your bubble but not everyone wants to kiss that mug of yours hun. 

Speaking of kissing skills, MARLENE MACKINNON thankfully refrained from kissing anyone which has apparently resulted in one less person dying than last time. Even RABASTAN LESTRANGE must have some skill with those lips, how else would he have managed to convince AUGUSTUS ABBOTT to hold his hand and dance with him? This debacle hasn’t seemed to sit well with Augustus’s friends. SAOIRSE MACMILLAN was seen exiting the pavilion in a rush and was shortly followed by Augustus who just couldn’t keep up. Whilst Edward Tonks, had other plans for the party. Not only was he seen arguing with Rabastan, no doubt over Augustus, but he was also spotted cosying up with ANDROMEDA BLACK. The two of them returned from a break outside, suspiciously smelling of smoke and cheap cologne. Although the two would make an adorable couple, I can’t help but wonder if Narcissa knew about that since she also seemed to be getting her fair share of Ted that evening. But “Rita, the Black siblings, pining over someone like Ted? Surely I have my facts wrong?” I tell you beloved readers, I witnessed these events for myself! Either this generation of the Black family have decided to disregard tradition and break free from their parents grip like SIRIUS BLACK had, or there was some serious foul play at work. Perhaps Narcissa was simply distracting Edward whilst her cousin REGULUS BLACK was up to no good or cleaning that ridiculous crown he wore. 

Speaking of the Black sisters, what was even more interesting and out of character was that Bellatrix left the ball without a stolen wand in her hand or in handcuffs. I suppose it’s good to have a change now and again, it keeps us all on our feet. Bellatrix was rumored to have spent the night with a Half-Blood, who I’m guessing was SEVERUS SNAPE. Snape was also blamed for hexing Jame’s pants but if you ask me it was James who just couldn’t keep them on. Bellatrix then left the ball in a hurry and was soon followed by Rabastan who abandoned Augustus at the ball. Poor Gus, breaking all those friendships just to be ditched at the end of the night. Hun, if you ever need someone to take you home, you know how to find me, x. Speaking of being ditched, HARRISON BAGNOLD was seen running from HESTIA JONES and towards the back wings of the pavilion. Merlin only knows what Hestia did to deserve that and someone should tell PATRICIA RAKEPICK that Harrison is trouble before she decides to have another intimate conversation with him. It seems Patricia wasn’t the only Gryffindor alumni making bad choices. ALICE YEN was also seen arguing with Rabastan that evening. Perhaps if these Aurors paid more attention to things, ROSALIE FLINT might have never gone missing. Who knows what happened there but that’s a story for another article. 

All in all, I had a lovely evening and was graced with many beautiful faces including HENRY GRIFFIS who could have taken me home but had his mother’s arm around his instead. I hope that everyone had a good evening and that all my readers got home safely after the event! It seems that the nights are growing colder and our streets darker despite winter coming to an end. - really wants to travel the world. definitely wanted to live in rome at some point but y’know, life.

- he’s Voldemort’s torture expert. like Bellatrix does the torturing, but Rabastan goes out and actively tries to find new torture methods. All the death eaters (save for Bellatrix and Rodolphus) are at least a little bit scared of him.

- less evil than Rodolphus but more sadistic if that makes sense???

- DRAMATIC

- he’s that one quidditch player that gets poked and is like ‘oH nOO hE BrOKE mY BoDYYYY!! pROfESSoR!!’

- would literally allow himself to be stabbed just to play a prank on Rodolphus. 

- idk why people are saying he has a crush on Andy, like no they are the BEST of friends. Like they team up to sabatoge Bellatrix and Rodolphus’ wedding and they have the best time 

- has a diary but will go to his GRAVE with that secret

Rodolphus

- would throw himself in front of a car for Rabastan but WILL NOT do the dishes. 

- “RABASTAN THIS IS WHY MOM DOESN’T FUCKING LOVE YOU!”

- wanted children so badly, like he literally would have been the BEST DAD 

- when he gets angry, he looks like one of those kids cartoons where the face gets all red and steam comes out of his ears

- ALSO DRAMATIC

- both the Lestrange boys are dramatic and you can FIGHT ME on that 

- writes his own spells

- He isn’t in love with Bellatrix but they’re best friends,  like everyone thought they were dating but in reality they just go around torturing mudbloods and stealing stuff together 

- looks like he could kill you, could actually kill you

- isn’t really close to Rabastan until his sixth year. He’s four years older, so he spent a lot of Rabastan’s childhood at Hogwarts. But then after a while decides that his brother is a complete softie and must be protected

- literally handles ALL of voldemort’s connections. Like almost everyone voldy is getting funding from internationally came from him

- had blond hair when he was born 

- patronus is a wolf, because he’s protective and works well alone and in groups. he could also cast it easily as a kid but it got harder when he got older. 

- really adventerous, which is weird for a slytherin

- The Lestranges own a penthouse in london, but also have a beach house somewhere and a big, dark estate like the malfoys

- after their parents die, Rodolphus gets the estate and moves there. 

- some of his best memories are wandering around muggle london with his mom and his brother but would never admit it. 

- he’s a really strong wizard, and also really smart, and probably would have been minister for magic one day if his parents didn’t die and Bellatrix’s family wasn’t forcing them to get married. 

Family headcannons

- so basically, I feel like they grew up in a pretty happy home, but their Dad wasn’t around a lot, and their mom is kind of depressed, because she was super strong and smart and a great witch but ended up just being a housewife. Also, I feel like both Rabastan and Rodolphus didn’t like their Dad and loved their mom. Like, their Dad was good and loved them a lot but they barely ever saw him. 

- also, the main reason they hate muggles is because their parents died when Rabastan was in sixth year, in a car crash. Also, their mom grew up in france and went to beauxbatons, and her family was practically french royalty. 

- their mom is like 16 years younger than their dad because he had an arranged marriage to her sister, who died, so they had to arrange the marriage with their younger daughter. that’s another reason she’s depressed, because she couldn’t marry the guy she wanted to. 

- also, she is the best mom. would come into the school and YELL at dumbledore if he so much as THOUGHT about accusing her children of doing anything wrong because they just couldn’t.

- ultimately, they’re good people, but they both lost their parents and their friends and people that they loved, and it kind of broke them.
