👩‍🎤 2000s Virtual Singers (also known as 2000s Virtual Mascot) – aesthetic and character trope based around fictional mascots that many companies used and were popular approximately from 2005 to the mid 2010s. These corporate mascots were often portrayed dancing and/or singing for an audience in a specific space, and generally they were anthropomorphized animals or object but there were a few singers that were humans. Some music videos involving these singers were also ringtone commercials that one could buy for their mobile phones, because of the technological limitation of the time.

Some iconic child-oriented examples are Gummibär or Psycho Teddy, both created by the company Jamba!. Other, more juvenile, examples may include Hatsune Miku and the Vocaloid boom during the late 2000s.

Because of the fact, that these singers were primarily popularized through TV ringtone commercials and holiday jingles, this aesthetic possibly started to fall out of style during the mod-2010s, because selling ringtones or wallpapers simple stops being fashionable or convenient due to the fact that they became more widely available for free to the public. Some of the last examples of popular 2000s Virtual Singer commercials may include GUMMI GANGNAM STYLE by Gummibär, which was a parody of the song Gangnam Style by PSY, which was one of the most popular songs at the time.

Because I’m bored, I decided to make some drawings based on @batghostgirlfan’s recent poll about putting the TFA Autobots into these things called EGO suits from this thing called Lobotomy Corporation. I think the abnormalities look cool and went “let’s fuse them instead!” Some of these were definitely harder than others, but these were fun to draw.
