How The Scene Should Have Played Out

“I don’t wanna do this anymore! Not for you! Not for her! Certainly not for Gotham! I don’t care.” John raved. As he broke down into sobs, Bruce quickly pulled him into an embrace. John let out a guttural wail, grabbing onto Bruce’s shirt, clenching his fists as his tears soaked the fabric.

“I know, John, I know.” Bruce assured, rubbing up and down John’s back. “I’m so sorry you’re going through this, but I need you to tell me what you know.”

“Th-the Agency…they took the blood, ruined the body. I was in my dark place, I couldn’t stop them. Harley found out…she…” A fresh fit of sobs erupted from John. “She said she didn’t need me anymore…she…she hurt me…I feel so…so…” Bruce ran his fingers through John’s hair.

“Take your time…how did she make you feel?” John shook his head, burying his face further into Bruce’s pecs as his breathing grew erratic and uneven. “That’s okay. I need you to take a few deep breaths for me, buddy.” John nodded, struggling to even out his breathing. “You don’t have to get too close if you don’t want to, but Agent Avesta and I need to find her and get the virus away from her so she can’t hurt anyone else. Do you have any ideas as to where she could be?” John let out a shaky sigh, pulling away from Bruce.

“No, I’ll find her. Alone. It’ll take me a while, but I’ll do it.” John sniffled, rubbing the tears out of his eyes, before turning to Agent Avesta with a smile. “You gotta watch out for this guy. The ol’ Wayne charm gets ‘em every time!” He turned to walk out the door.

“Are you sure you don’t want us to help you?” Bruce asked.

“No, I need to do this alone. I’ll call you when I find something.” John started to walk out the door, then paused. “Thank you for checking on me, Bruce. I really needed that.”

“You’re welcome, John. When this is all over, know you can always come to me if you need help.” John wiped a few stray tears from his eyes before walking off.

John's scars are all from during the events, so I won't be explaining them, ha ha

John's tattoo also happens during the events, but just barely. Let's just say he's very fond of a certain man prowling the streets

Joker's Main Inspirations

The 1966 live TV show of Batman will always have a special place in my heart. Seeing the characters come to life and the actors make me smile. Caesar Romero did such an amazing job with the Joker and I wanted his giddy and fun nature to come off. His portrayal is also the reason that my version has such lime green hair and a maroon suit instead of a true green and purple.

As I said with Batman, Batman: The Enemy Within is one of the main reasons I wanted to make Joker a good guy and delve into what kind of person he is when he isn't playing a role for others. John's intro in Season 1, to his overhaul in Season 2 gave me so much love for the Telltale team (Although they already had my adoration)

Lego Joker had to be on here, I mean, look at him. He's so cute and feral, and once again, not particularly evil.

The Mask might seem like a random choice, but I love that movie. Stanley is so loveable and animated, and we have none other than Jim Carey to thank for giving the character from the comic so much life. His powers being so cartoony while still dangerous is another aspect that went into my Joker.

Batwheels Joker isn't a huge inspiration because I could barely find anything to watch from it, but I like that again, he's more just goofy than violent. Also I took the blue eyeliner from him because I like the pop of color a lot.

Extra Info

Given that John's identity needs to remain a secret in this au, (he's not JUST the Joker), I had to think of how to combat John being recognized in public. This also plays into some autism related behaviors, so now's a good time to clarify them.

John is fine in private settings not wearing gloves, but put him in a public, especially social setting, and he'd much prefer to wear gloves than directly touch people and things. Plus they look make you look nice and fancy

For the same sensory reason, John will button up his shirt. It also covers his bat tattoo as that would be a dead give-away. His hair is still green, he can only hide so much

John wears sunglasses because it's so bright out, and that's just not another sensory thing worth dealing with if he doesn't have to. The lighting in Arkham is also poor; after being there for years, even shaded sunlight can seem a bit too bright

John will also sometimes wear noise cancelling ear-buds, it just depends

Telltale Batman Season 3 villain pitch:Owlman

Owlman is the evil version of Batman from Earth 3 and Thomas Wayne Jr. For those wanting to watch a more in depth look at Owlman, watch these videos. Video 1. Video 2.

Here's how we can do Owlman in the Telltale games.

Short version? Make Owlman the dark reflection of Batman and what Bruce could've became had he chose to embrace his family's dark legacy in this universe.

They could have Thomas Jr be prepped to take over the family business and had him sent away to school or learn from the greatest criminal minds of the world. Then he learns of their deaths and swears revenge. But now Thomas Jr has returned to take Wayne Enterprises, restore his father's dark legacy and end the Bat.

So more things they could do is have Owlman poison Gotham against Batman. Owlman's right hand is William Cobb aka Talon. Owlman has the Graysons killed. Bruce takes in Dick and our choices would determine how Robin turns out in the end. Owlman commits crimes and everyone thinks Batman has lost it. Bruce is ousted from Wayne Enterprises. Batman's allies all slowly abandon him. Except for one. Alfred returns to help Bruce against his brother and finally Robin comes into the fold, so it will be Batman and Robin against Owlman and Talon.
