More Homeless Cars, Less Homeless Sidewalks

  I envision our streets to be sewn in with temporary stitching of old, ugly, but still running cars (“driving beds”) housing the homeless to reduce 10% of our sidewalks being occupied with tents, cardboard-tarp mini studios, sleeping bags, and blankets.  This will create a more sanitary and appealing environment for our neighborhoods; less lawsuits against the cities for failing to provide ”workable” sidewalks for the disables, elderlies, and school children; and more comfort, protection, and cleanliness for the homeless.  My plan seeks those who want to help but have a shortage of time while waiving  $1,000 to $3,000 to donate as their contributions to the homeless crisis; nonprofit entities with connection to the homeless; a government that needs another option to quickly solve the homeless epidemic while minimizing lawsuits; and some homeless who are ready for the next phase of their lives (the difficult and dull responsibilities of maintaining and protecting your cars as your driving beds).
If I had money but lack time, I would ask a nonprofit to accept a delivered car for donation to a homeless client as my individual effort to reduce the homeless crisis.  To compensate, I would donate $200-$500 to the organization for its kind and brave service.  Next, I’d go to purchase the car on-line and pay for the delivery to the nonprofit.  SUV’s, vans, and mini-wagons are ideals to create bed frames inside with their 60/40 split fold-down rear seats feasible for stacking wood boards on top.  PLEASE MAKE SURE THESE OLD VEHICLES’ BACKSEATS CAN BE FLATTENED OR REMOVED IN ORDER TO CREATE BED FRAMES FOR TALL HUMANS.  If you have no time to pursue any buying transaction, simply donate money to an organization and instruct it to use the fund to purchase a car for a homeless person. That’s all!
The safest places to donate cars to the homeless are nonprofits like churches, mosques, and temples; establishments assisting the drug and alcohol addicted, battered and raped victims, homeless youths, college students, gays, and illegals; and all ethnic groups (black, red, brown, white, and yellow).  These centers have great knowledge in which homeless clients are ready for the duties of vehicle ownership.  Don’t forget to donate a small amount of money covering administrative costs to these hardworking organizations.
While the government analyzes its great walls of red tape in housing the homeless, hopping onto this program is another faster way to avoid expensive lawsuits for not clearing the sidewalks.  It can establish a system to provide the following benefits to some deserving homeless: driver’s license, car insurance, storage units, and homeless vehicle license plate.   In fact, those expensive and risky aforementioned services can be avoided if the government doesn’t tow the homeless cars being parked where there are no restricted parking signs and paid meters.
Lastly, this program needs homeless folks willing to leave their dangerous lives for a safer living which is filled with boring and hard tasks of protecting, maintaining, cleaning, fixing, not abusing, and owning their automobiles as their driving beds.  These cars are not for regular, buzz, high, drug-impaired joyride or you will end up selling them to pay for car repairs and accidents; then, you will return to your favorite sidewalks, and back into your tents, carboard-tarp studios, sleeping bags, or blankets.  Driving beds are not intended as storage for your mountains of street antiques and collectables unless you want to spend your unhoused money paying for the costly deflated tires and broken car frames.  Most importantly, these cars are not to be lent to your loved ones, buddies, and seductive beauties (humans, drugs, or alcohol) or you will return yourselves to the sidewalks once they trash your cars.
In conclusion, I firmly feel we can liberate a few homeless people from living on the sidewalks starting with donating old but working SUV’s, vans, and mini-wagons to be used as driving beds via nonprofits as the middlemen with a transactional fee as donation.  Tents, carboard-tarp mini studios, sleeping bags, blankets, and even newspapers on the sidewalks are cheap, but they are extremely expensive in lawsuits, hospital fees, and devaluation of your properties.  It’s better than doing nothing when you have a few thousand dollars to dispense to do your part in fixing the homeless problem in America.
