O Exterminador do Futuro - Viagens temporais e batalhas ardentes

Sabemos que Arnold Schwarzenegger é um ator brilhante. Ele já fez participações em filmes como Predador, e até mesmo fez o papel de um super-herói parecido(ou não) com o Homem de Ferro. Mas com certeza o filme que consagrou Schwarzenegger como um fenômeno de sucesso mundial foi O Exterminador do Futuro, de 1984, dirigido por James Cameron. Na trama, o cyborg T-800(Arnold Schwarzenegger), é enviado pelo supercomputador, Skynet, do ano de 2029, em que acontecia a chamada guerra de Humanos contra Máquinas, para o ano de 1984, com a finalidade de exterminar Sarah Connor(Linda Hamilton), e assim impedir o nascimento do filho dela, John Connor, o líder da resistência humana. A resistência, em resposta, enviou Kyle Reese(Michael Biehn), para lidar com essa ameaça. O sucesso de The Terminator deu espaço para outras continuações, tais como Terminator 2: The Judgment Day(1991), em que Sarah e John agora têm um inimigo em comum, T-1000, e Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines(2003), que apresentou a T-X como a primeira exterminadora feminina, com recursos bélicos superiores aos do modelo T-850, e ela era duas vezes mais impiedosa.

De onde veio tanto sucesso? O Exterminador do Futuro se tornou um clássico fenomenal pela maneira como ele foi inserido na cultura pop, e frases como "I'll be back", e "Hasta la vista, baby" se tornaram parte dos elementos culturais da série. Outros elementos-chave, como por exemplo o apocalipse nuclear, rebelião robótica e a viagem no tempo contribuíram para o sucesso de O Exterminador do Futuro. Uma das melhores inserções da franchise foi a maneira como a personagem T-X foi interpretada pela atriz Kristanna Loken, tornando-se uma antagonista imponente e friamente calculista, que não dava trégua para os heróis tão facilmente. Dá até pra perceber que ela deu bastante trabalho para T-850, John Connor e Katherine Brewster, uma vez que ela perseguia o trio implacavelmente, e não hesitaria em exterminar qualquer um que ousasse se interpor no caminho dela...

Rating: Surprisingly Not Bad.

Oh the Body Horror for sure, and the upside down helps hide some of the uncanny valley. still weirdly plastic in a way, a bit gooey? Squishy. yeah that's the word, Squishy. I could squish that head like a stress ball.

Terminator Salvation

Rating: Not Great Bob

We stuck a CG mold of Arnold's head from OG Terminator (the original SFX team's muold for the full sized prosthetics was still available) onto some random bodybuilder's bod and its not quite right. And the mould face is immovable, unbreathing, might as well put a Jason Mask.

Terminator: Genisys

Rating: Itchy.

I get itchy looking at this one, I don't know why. They wrapped his face onto something that doesn't quite fit. I feel I could stretch out his facial features like Odo's face at the end of a hard day. The texture is wrong. I'd take the Salvation model out before this one.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Rating: Too Veiny

Points I guess for the fit but those arm veins are distracting. This is also the only time I recall the Arnold model ever having stubble. The closer you are to getting it right tho, the wider the uncanny valley chasm gets, but good choice on the sunglasses. I don't want to see those eyes.
