tessegender: a gender that originates from a higher dimension, or that intersects into a higher dimension. this term is both an umbrella term for any gender that fits its description and a gender in and of itself, and the prefix ‘tesse-’ can be added to any gender term to denote that the gender comes from or intersects into a higher dimension. there are no restrictions on how or why the gender is related to a higher dimension - the gender may move in and out of a higher dimension, it may have been created there, or it may constantly shift between different dimensions. the higher dimension(s) may be spiritual in nature, such as a higher plane of existence that one could ascend to, or it could be mathematical in nature, that the origin of the gender was in an alternate universe with four or more spatial dimensions, or two or more time dimensions. these are just a few examples of potential tessegender experiences.

tesse- (teh-suh) comes from the word ‘tesseract’, the name for a 4d cube. its use in this term specifically refers to the mathematical concept of a tesseract, not to be confused with the tesseract infinity stone from the marvel universe. the symbol on each flag is a 2d depiction of a tesseract, representing the higher dimension(s) that the gender(s) come from. the dark stripe with stars in the center of the flag represents the gender(s) moving from the higher dimension(s) to this one.
