ok ok so it’s like; i was on tiktok because one of you guys had told me that someone had done something for me - and i was kinda… 😖 because i don’t like tiktok kgdkkkgk but i went anyway, and when i saw what it was i almost cried because it was a super famous & talented artist who had made a cute video about me and shigaraki!! and the video was like; he was lying down and sad and i was calling him, then when he answered he said i could only see him if i promised to give him kisses, and then i started to smile a lot because i was already at his door and he went there , he opened the door and he had a pout on his face, but when he saw me he was all 🥹🧸💖🤏✨🤭🛼💫 and aaaa i was even more than him !! but out of nowhere he got an angry expression while he waited for me to kiss him, and i didn’t do anything (i don’t remember why lmao) and then he tried to close the door so i wouldn’t come in and got all mad and stuff like that, but i ended up kissing him and he was like extremely happy again!! then the video ended and i was almost crying because it was so beautiful but then the video had disappeared!!?1!!1 i couldn’t find it anywhere :’) so i spent a long time looking and finally i found it; then i saved the video and when i came on tumblr to talk about it i woke up. .. bUT IT WAS SO CUTE AND REAL LIKE IT WAS SHIGARAKI AND >>ME<< LIKE THE ARTIST MADE ME AND HIM AND I WAS LIKE SO VKSKVKDMVMDMG IDK IT WAS JUST SO PURE AND BEAUTIFUL AND I CAN’T STOP SMILING RN

“stevie, look at me. it’s gonna go fine you need to stop freaking out.” you cupped his bearded face in your hands because you once mentioned in passing that your mom preferred beards on men

and steve was trying his absolute hardest to impress her

he knew your family culture was very different from his which is why he only wanted to try all the harder to get your parents approval

he knew when you first brought up dating someone your parents were apprehensive already- who would even try to talk to their daughter that way?

and when you told them you had a white boyfriend-

long story short they were not happy

however you were insistent on making them give him a chance, all the emotional blackmail and crocodile tears that had your parents reluctantly giving in

and now, here you two were, sitting outside your parents home with a nervous wreck of a boyfriend by your side

you rang the doorbell and smiled giddily, and for a moment the pure excitement coming from you had steve’s worries easing away and he took a few moments to just admire you

until the door was being opened and suddenly he was sweating nervously again

“y/n, meri jaan!” your mom exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug and you giggled, equally excited to see her after an extremely extended period of time

steve smiled brightly at the scene before him, he knew how much your parents meant to you which was why he was determined to impress them

your mother pulled away from you, grabbing your face in her palms and laughing before turning her attention to the large man standing at the door with flowers in his hand

the smile melted off your mothers face and she nodded her head at him, gesturing for him to come inside

“oh these are for you ms l/n.” he extended his hand with a cheery smile, and he saw her lips twitch upwards that had him internally sighing in relief

he took a step inside and took in your home, walls framed with pictures of what he assumes are extended family and younger you

it’s quite obvious that you were your parents pride and joy which does nothing but ease steve’s nerves

speaking of, he was extremely anxious to meet your father; he wanted to gift an expensive bottle of wine or champagne but was shocked when you told him your parents didn’t drink

you turned over your shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile and he wanted nothing more than pull you into his arms and a kiss, but you told him pda was taboo and kept to a bare minimum so he’ll take what he could get

he heard you squeal when you ran up to your dad, pulling him into hug and steve was left awkwardly shifting with your mom burning holes into his skin

he went to introduce himself to your father but didn’t get a response, simply a one over before he turned back to the tv and not only did his heart fall out of his ass, but he saw yours crumble too

you tried to give him an apologetic look and he shook his head, shrugging it off mouthing “it’s okay sweetheart.”

“go sit, dinner will be ready soon.”

steve turned around, “oh can i help with anything ms. l/n?”

your mom smiled, and shook her head no and something told steve that she was much nicer than your father

“come sit.” your father beckoned and steve closed his eyes in an attempt to pull hinself together before he sat on the couch oppsite him

there was an uncomfortable silence between the two men as your father’s eyes trained to the movie playing on screen and steve was left glancing around uncomfortably, hoping to catch a glimpse of you or hear your giggles

he was endlessly grateful when you called them over to the dinner table, lined with colourful food with a delicious aroma wafting into the air that had steve’s mouth watering both in fear and excitement

“take a seat steve, i hope it’s not too spicy for you?” your mom inquired and steve shook his head,

“it’ll be okay, thank you though.” would it be okay though?

you sat down next your boyfriend and tried to make conversation over the deafening silence

your dad cut you off though when he asked your boyfriend

“why should i let someone like you be with my daughter?”

your mouth dropped open in shock as you began to tell your dad off for asking something so blunt but steve’s hand rested on your knee under the table as a gesture for you to stay calm

he cleared his throat and spoke

“i understand that i’m not who the man you envisioned your daughter being with, but i love her a lot. and i want nothing more than to keep her safe and happy. she means a lot to me and i know that our cultures are very different but i will always try my absolute hardest to learn. i would understand if you didn’t accept me or us, but i hope that you will because i want to spend the rest of my life with her. and nothing would ever change that.”

steve shifted in his seat before smiling, the golden smile that could probably light up the sky if he tried hard enough and the one that had tears brimming to your eyes after he confessed his love for you before nonchalantly continuing,

“shall we eat now? this looks delicious.”

your father didn’t show it but he knew his daughter, and trusted her choice and now that had just been reinforced tenfold

but what kind of father would he be if he didn’t act stern for at least another year?
