Anika is such a throwaway character in The Boys but i'm obsessed with her scenes. especially the one with Homelander. how do we not have a dozen fics of him harassing her in crime analytics, using her behind the scenes to be his eyes and ears. where's my fic where he finds out Deep fired her, slaps him upside the head and drags her back into the office himself.
look how CUTE she is
she also gets a patent Homie point, which we love.
don't even get me started on when he pushes her chair in and moves her hand. did no one else rewind this scene several times.
this LOOK he gives her after?? guys the fanfic writes itself. please.
Yrris had really long hair, which she attempted to cut few days after crash landing, and Shadowheart is being big sister she never had ❤ (Yrris' actual sister tried to kill her, which is why she even here in first place, but that's just norm for drow families tbh lol)
I read some opinions and personally I would never understand why some Darkling antis are against the fact that he... thought he was Ravka's only hope; when it's established several times?
Him THINKING that doesn't mean it is true or absolve him of his actions or anything of the sort. He isn't an anti-hero because of this.
This is like saying Thanos didn't think he was saving the entire universe. He did!
And this was actually a core flaw of both of these characters which resulted from a mixture of their experiences, their desire to do good and save people but also their own ego, self importance and desire for power. They wanted power in a very 'I am the only one capable of doing what needs to be done' way. And it makes sense for them to think that! That doesn't make it true.
Why would you erase a flaw of a character you hate?
The anti-villain is a character who has some redeeming or relatable qualities, but that still ends up making the wrong choices and doing the villainous thing and that's what I think they are.
There's just something about Gamora leaving Thanos' service and immediately attaching herself to another emotionally unavailable guy with a god complex whose future self genocided her people thus leading to her getting adopted by Thanos in the first place. Like not to get all Freudian about it but Thanos and Adam are incredibly alike when you really get down to brass tacks so it's interesting that Gamora felt so instantly drawn to Adam. Also she's susceptible to cults/religious indoctrination and Adam's friends are actually his followers 😛
Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson on concerns regarding the violence of the French Revolution:
A few of their cordial friends met at their hands, the fate of enemies. But time and truth will rescue and embalm their memories, while their posterity will be enjoying that very liberty for which they would never have hesitated to offer up their lives. The liberty of the whole earth was depending on the issue of the contest, and was ever such a prize won with so little innocent blood? My own affections have been deeply wounded by some of the martyrs to this cause, but rather than it should have failed, I would have seen half the earth desolated. Were there but an Adam and an Eve left in every country, and left free, it would be better than as it now is.
How are you feeling about the new Batman movie DC announced? It's about Damian and I'm soo scared that they're going to make him some evil little monster. Apparently other members of the Batfamily are going to appear in it too, but they didn't say which ones
I actually haven’t heard of this until just now!
Okay, after a quick google I’m actually kind of excited for it. It definitely has potential but same I’m scared too! Istg if they don’t make Damian Arab 😭
Tbh DCAU are the only DC movies I enjoy (apart from Nolan & Matt Reeves Batmans) so I’m quite skeptical with how they’ll execute this without making it cheesy or over the top.
I don’t mind if Damian acts full of himself (I actually would like to see that because he’s awesome and should be respected)or dare I say a little bratty, I just don’t want them to portray him as unlikable and as a whiny little kid. If Damian is shown as angry all the time or stuck up then they should at least give us a reason why he’s like this-like this is a child he has every right to be angry with the life he’s lived. Plus he’s literally a child assassin with attitude, I mean how cool is that?! But yeah I love him and I hope they don’t ruin his character by making him insufferable. Gunn said Damian is his favourite Robin so here’s to hoping to a good portrayal.
About the other batfamily members: I really hope we get them all ofc, though I’m biased towards Jason and want to see him most unless he is played by Curran. However I don’t want them to be in it if it’s just going to be for some sort of joke or if they’re used in a way that portrays them negatively in order to portray Damian positively. Tbh I’d be happy even if only their names were mentioned lmao. Honestly would love an animated batfam series because DCAU is amazing imo and (most of) DCU sucks ass
