The dreaded mandalore arc post. Im going to be upfront, if you dont like me slandering Satine just dont even read the post. Turn back now. I’m not going to engage in dumb arguments. If you want to comment be civil.

I try to be as objective as I can writing these. I call it as I see it even when i do like the character. However I also recognize the tone can come across as aggressive, its not meant to be I just Talk Like That.

Episode 12: The Mandalore Plot

* Obi wan sent to Mandalore to investigate rumors about a secret army built for the separatists

* “All of our warriors were exiled to concordia. They died out years ago” thats fucking weird. Like if we’re talking just Death Watch thatd be whatever they’re terrorists but all of the warriors?? What about Satine’s Guard? Do they not qualify as warriors? Or are they allowed because they’re Satine’s warriors

* Amec awfully defensive about Jango Fett being mandalorian. “Jango Fett was a common bounty hunter. How he acquired that armor is beyond me” what exactly makes someone Mandalorian or not?

* Satine is so hostile just as soon as she enters. That doesnt look good for your case, Duchess, considering you want to prove you have no intent of turning against the Republic. bad political decision.

* Sabateur is mandalorian. Amec really going hard on the denial "no mandalorian would engage in such violence. not anymore" babe you have Video Evidence of the exact opposite

* Satine assumes this whole thing is because the Senate wants to intervene in the affairs of Mandalore

* wild assumption considering obi wan has done nothing thusfar outside of try to get answers for his investigation. awfully presumtuous and honestly arrogant all things considered

* i find it so hard to believe these two are supposed to have been in love

* Ok so now you mention Death Watch, not earlier when you were throwing around baseless accusations where that information could have been necessary??

* "its hardly a movement" a small group of hooligans typically doesnt warrant secret officials rooting them out. all this tells me is that she knows about death watch and refuses to do much of anything ab it. what does she plan to do with the investigation?

* The separatists want to help overthrow satine

* Satine trying to lecture Obi Wan on peacekeeping and Jedi ideals is fucking audacious. “The job of a peacekeeper is to make sure that conflict does not arise” and what when conflict does? You cant always prevent conflict. The conflict is already there so arguably Obi Wan has a more understandable and realistic point of view here.

* Also terribly ironic that an act of terrorism occurs as they are having this conversation. This isn’t Peace. Its ignorance.

* “Hooligans couldnt have arranged an attack of this scale” “It must be an offworlder” denial is going to get your people killed

* Side note: the sheer amount of blonde white people makes me so uncomfortable for this to be an idyllic state of peace for mandalorians. Especially when any mandalorians we see who are poc are stripped of their mandoness, or cult members (this is in reference to Jango and Din, im uncertain of what sabines family’s political views were)

* That man shot at obi wan while he was trying be diplomatic ab it would she blame him for self defense? Thats fucked up especially bc shes totally cool with self defense when she does it

* She criticizes him every chance she gets, and rather unfairly too

* What do you mean they’re supposed to be in love? They dont even act like they Like eachother. Obi Wan has had kinder interactions with most of his main villains

* The pre vizla death watch entrance is unfortunately kinda badass

* The dark saber having a different sound effect scatches the brain

* Obi Wan (correctly) believing the separatists are supporting Death Watch and Satine immediately saying no i want no part in that conflict is weird. Like thats not a decision you make. You joining the clone war is not what hes talking about, The Death Watch dont care about what you want. I dont even know how she turned this conversation into a “i wont be part of this war and you wont convince me” discussion when he literally didn’t say anything of the sort

Episode 13: Voyage of Temptation

* I didnt even notice the scene of Satine expectantly waiting for Obi Wan to kiss her hand last episode until this episodes recap. I hate it that feels condescending

* This is where they start revealing that they had or have feelings for eachother and I simply Cant See It

* The way she talks down to obi wan constantly and even seats herself above everyone else like bro have literally any fucking respect for others outside of yourself

* The spider droid deaths are already so dark

* “Even extremists can be reasoned with” Duchess YOU are an extremist and you clearly can’t be reasoned with, just because your extremism isnt violent doesnt make it not extreme

* And again pacifism is ineffective in the face of an uncaring enemy, you fight or you die

* Im only like 1/4 of the way through this episode

* I feel like they try to push obitine so hard it just falls flat for me because their negative interactions outweigh any positive ones

* Anakin seems to really be pushing Obi Wan to have feelings for Satine but it comes across as Anakin projecting his worries about his relationship with Padme onto Obitine, because if Obi Wan can do it its okay that he can. Except Obi Wan doesnt, he lets it go

* Ooh creepy clone puppet scene

* I love when star wars tries to be spooky scary

* “Just because im a pacifist doesnt mean i wont defend myself” you mean like how last episode you said if obi wan had killed that guy you would blame him even tho he was just defending himself?

* Also Another assassination attempt… surprising…

* “This line of questioning borders on torture” arguably no it doesnt??? What harm is it causing? Emotional distress is already caused by the fact that there is a traitor present releasing the droids in the first place

* Senator Merrik was on Mandalore with Satine, is he from Mandalore? Who is this guy? Hes the Senator for Kalevala in the Mandalore system

* The fact that Satine could be betrayed by literally every single one of her close colleagues is honestly telling of how her peace was just a facade used by her enemies to blindside her.

* Merrik looks so disturbed ab Satine suddenly confessing her love

* Me too

* Also the fuck you mean youve loved him ever since? Youve been treating him like shit this whole time???

* At least the distraction worked, as uncomfortable as it made me

* Merrik, as shitty as he is, makes a decent point about if Satine shoots him or not, She’s politically backed herself into a corner

* “Who will strike first and brand themselves a cold-blooded killer?” Enter Anakin

* I do think had Anakin not been there Obi would have done it for the greater good, or found a less fatal way about it

* Why did her attitude change so drastically at the end?

Episode 14: Duchess of Mandalore

* So Death Watch has the means to attack Mandalore and if Satine allows Republic occupation then Death Watch’s attack puts them in the people of Mandalore’s good graces allowing them to usurp Satine

* Obviously palps wants to do this for a power grab, Jerek could well have been another of Satine’s allies betraying her although im not so sure. He calls for Republic assistance against Death Watch becasue he sees them as a threat, calling out the Pride of the government to not ask for assistance from the Jedi.

* Either way this could have gone, it would always end the same because to maintain peace you have to Fight for it. That doesnt mean you have to be violent but you cant be ignorant of it either

* Arguably Satine is correct about the Republic occupation making them a target for the war and she has the right to remain neutral but what exactly is her alternative plan to deal with Death Watch

* Those guards of hers dont seem very pacifistic

* Damn friend zoned lmao

* So far Satine in this episode is at least more tolerable and I understand where she’s coming from

* What the republic is doing IS wrong but shes not offering an alternative to stopping Death Watch to protect her people

* Isnt she allied with 1500 other systems or something like that? Why did she go to the Senate at all?

* Thats underhanded(holding the vote without Satines presence or knowledge)

* “The temerity to stand strong in the name of peace” so what exactly is the plan to protect the people of Mandalore from Death Watch. You can’t just say nuh uh and expect them to back down and submit to pacifism, they keep saying theyll stand strong but they haven’t mentioned anything about what exactly they will do to stand strong against Death Watch

Episode 15: Senate Murders

* A group of senators want to escalate the production of troops, Padme and her allies recognize this will prolong the war and is working against it

* Padmes enemies are accusing her of separatist conspiracy, if this gets out to the rest of the senate she is absolutely fucked

* Ono assassinated, they actually succeeded this time

* Where do i know this lieutenants voice? Its grating just like his personality, no offense to the va

* Mothma and Bail both act like parental/older sibling figures to padme, im a whore for that shit

* I wish I could hate this guy more but the dracula vibes go too hard im sorry

* Oh shit dracula is dead as hell

* I do love a good murder mystery, idk why i was so apprehensive about this episode

* As much as Burtoni sucks, i do believe her when she says she doesnt give a single fuck enough to kill these people, she just has that vibe

since goe and lup have the ancestors they do i wonder how they would approach the prospect of having kids? Fuji doesnt seem like the kinda person whod want kids of her own but i wouldnt be surprised if lups been with other women. Goe doesn't seem interested in romance at all for the most part but maybe thatd change once hes a bit older. How would they manage kids while being thieves I wonder 🤔

I can’t see Lupin ever settling down for long enough to ever actively parent a kid. Of course, his legacy is important to him, as it has been to his father and grandfather, but he’s never been one to do things by-the-book.

Goemon, I thjnk, would be more inclined to live a slower, easier life. He knows he can’t pretend to be young forever, even if that doesn’t necessarily mean having kids.

Lupin is great with kids from a merely entertainment-centric standpoint. He’s animated and wacky and constantly in-motion; and most kids love that! His natural charm makes him a wonderful candidate for children’s birthday parties, but not so much for babysitting. He is, of course, level-headed enough to safeguard a child. He cannot, however, be trusted not to let them get away with murder.

In fact, he… actually actively encourages bad behaviour. In his experience, breaking rules is great, and it’s exactly what he did as a kid. And who wouldn’t want to turn out like him?

On second thought, maybe don’t leave your kids around him at all. Just to be safe.

When it comes to kids of his own, Lupin is pretty indifferent. He loves the idea of having someone to carry his family name into the future, but he knows he could never be a reliable father figure. He recognises first-hand how messed up it is when your dad is some daredevil big-name thief, and he knows that he couldn’t possibly give up his lifestyle for long enough to break that cycle.

Over time, maybe he starts to recognise that there’s potential for an adopted heir of some kind further down the line? I can see him taking an older kid under his wing and teaching them the tricks of the trade, and I think that would be a much better fit for him and his nature and the level of responsibility he can reliably be trusted with. We know that he’s more than comfortable sharing his life with his found family, and I think having an heir who isn’t necessarily a blood descendent wouldn’t be any kind of issue for him.

The Lupin name itself is important to him, however, and he’d make a huge deal of passing it down to someone else. You don’t get to wear the Lupin name and not live up to the legend. He’ll make it his mission to haunt you otherwise.

In short: they’ll have to be one badass kid.

Goemon isn’t planning on settling down any time soon, either. Though he toys with the idea, he knows that he isn’t satisfied with his own abilities yet. Training is rigorous and the hours he spends away are long. He can’t in good conscience have a child when he’s so busy bettering himself.

With that said, he is well aware of the slow passage of time. He recognises that they’re all going to get old one day, and when he can no longer work, he will need other things to keep him busy and fulfilled. While he has no active interest in children, he doesn’t totally write off the idea. It’s just… there, in the back of his mind. A situational ‘maybe’, if you will.

After all, Goemon… struggles, shall we say, with children. He finds it a little grating to constantly have to explain himself and the world around him, especially in simple terms. While he’s kind and generous in his own way, it’s clear that the distance he keeps socially might not always gel with raising a kid; especially when it comes to teaching societal norms and expectations.

To Goemon, in opposition to Lupin, his name is less about passing it on and much more about making sure that he himself does it justice. He is going to be the best he can be, because that’s what his name implies. The weight of his family’s history is on his shoulders: THAT is what’s important to him.

With that said, I think out of the two of them, Goemon is most likely to have children of his own. While Lupin may have a protégée, Goemon would likely take a much more active role in parenting a potential child. I think he’d secretly enjoy all of the baby babbles and firsts he’d get to experience. As long as he had a helping hand, so he could slip away for a break every now and then.

The secret third answer to this prompt is Zenigata, by the way. Again, not the most… devoted or present father, that’s for sure, but certainly the best father figure out of the whole gang. Probably the most likely to have children, too, considering he’s been there, done that, left to get the milk.

Also definitely the most intent on passing down his name. If he wasn’t insanely obsessed with Lupin, I reckon he’d be living a stereotypical nuclear family lifestyle. Definitely deep in the closet, but you know what? At least he’s great with kids.

while, you kno... the "LEGENDARY" VAMPIRE HUNTERS are the good guys who are depicted as badass and righteous. N ALSO it being illustrated in stark black and white with narration on top frames it much like a myth or a legend and all of that stuff. i dont doubt vampires also be doin some evil stuff BUT i am betting all my life savings arcen has had his view tainted cuz of his clan

and like edvard also being a part of that myth and legend and later himself saying that he's gone thru the trouble of trying to stay isolated n 'hunters always blowing things out of proportion'. to be honest, you had me entirely fooled with 'his aura being different' somehow because i just assumed that was a classic anime thing of establishing that this vamp aint like the others and has some mega powerful power going on that like differentiates him from all the other ones so we can have a high-stakes fight (pun so intended)

Genshin Impact character opinions (alphabetical)-

0/10 Albedo is my least favorite design... He looks so fuckin goofy and from what I know about his character the fact he looks so goofy is not great.... The shorts look so dumb and the blue of his shirt looks weird...

Just wanted to visualize my issues with his goofy outfit... wont be ‘fixing’ anyone elses.

10/10 So fucking cute. The colors are beautiful and well spread through the design, Zettai ryōiki. bunny theme...terrific. Ambers just perfect. Look at that fucking adorable face as well... look at her big ol smile and tell me she aint a 10/10. She’d get a 10 if all I ever saw was that big ol smile.

9/10 Barbara is adorable. Her costume is gorgeous. I love the white with blue and the gold accents. Very pretty my only gripe is the lighter blue on her bow...

10/10 Beidou is just gorgeous.... I love that shade of pinkish-red with the off-black and purple with the gold trim. Shes just so hot... also her English voice is also top tier which is irrelevant to my ranking... maybe but--

1/10 Bennetts not as bad as Albedo but god hes annoying to look at... and listen to....  he looks like hes a Kingdom Hearts knock off, the colors are weird, and he has the personality of s1 Ash Ketchum.... Im sure hes a swell lad... but

6/10 Chongyun I mean I love the color pallet and over all its fine. I think the onesie with the cropped jacket and the weird half robe is weird but it looks fine if I dont think about too much.

7/10 Diluc is pretty but not as fun to look at as some others. I do really like those red palm gloves. My biggest gripe is his shirt.... with the belt? WHAT? Sir do you know what a belt is for.....

8/10 Diona... so cute. I kinda just wish her hair wasnt pink. I dont like the pink in her design at all but other than that... super cute. I just noticed her gloves had little peets on them.... THATS SO CUTE.

4/10 Fischls color pallet (other than her hair) is gorgeous but other than that... hate the overall design... Im not opposed to sexiness... but come on....

7/10 Ganyu is very cute but idk whats going on with her outfit at all.... its a very confusing piece.... but I dont hate it...

7/10 Whoops forgot the new girl... Her designs cute... but it is a bit dampened by the fact I think about toilet boy Hanako.... but other than that very cute!

9/10 Jeans a hottie. Love her tight pants... is it too much to ask for more hot girls in tight pants? IS THAT SO WRONG?! I dont really like the weird open top bit or the red bits but I dont hate it either.

10/10 Kaeyas design is one of my favs. His color pallet is gorgeous, the design is cool, tasteful tiddie window... its great. Good for him. I’ll even excuse the spiked fingerless gloves which no other character could possibly pull off.

10/10 Keqing is gorgeous too. Again with the beautiful colors, a really charming outfit design combined with those little cat-ear buns. I do often see up her skirt when flying and climbing however and it makes me feel like a bad person LMAO IM SORRY KEQING!! I DONT MEAN IT. She seems like the type thatd be really embarrassed about it!!

10/10 Klee is so fucking cute. I kinda wish her eyes were green like her charm but the red is good too. That red and white with the warm brown is really nice, and you cant go wrong with a poofy hat! Shes so cute.

10/10 Lisa was designed to be a smoke show but she pulls it off better than Fischl. Love the roses throughout her design, the color pallet is on point, her hair matching the dull gold of the accents is really nice, a peak of Zettai ryōiki and her green eyes just POP. Shes beautiful.... I love her.

3/10 My issue with Mona is mostly her bottom half... I get that her tights design looks cool but with the rest of her vibe having her main clothing piece be like... a bathing suit? ITS A CHOICE and it ruins her design for me. Also I hate the baubles on the ends of her hair.... but her color pallet is real nice. I also like her bigger eyebrows...

10/10 Ningguang... also a total smokin hottie. Her colors are beautiful and really feel RICH. That brassy color and gold on white with the ginkgo designs... the bitch is just poppin. She looks fantastic.

8/10 Noelle is so cute... I like when I add her to my party and she gets all excited and eager to help... very cute. Her design is an endearing mix of badass knight and dutiful maid.... my only issue is her skirt.... looks kinda weird. Wish she had some petticoats to fill it out more. Also dont like that her roses pop out the way they do... reminds me of Shreks ears....

10/10 Qiqi is adorable I love Jiangshi, love the colors, wish she wasnt wearin horni thigh highs(I only ever see thigh highs squeeze thighs like that in l00d art dont come for me... I didnt design her.) but lolis gonna lol. But again her design is top tier. Shes so cute.

5/10 Razor... is kind of a mess but its largely the colors.... its a lot of weird colors. Also his design makes me think of the male MC... I literally thought he was like an AU version of the MC....

10/10 Sucrose is so cute. Again that white blue and gold look great... I like her frilly shorts and thigh highs.... her boots are cute... her hair color is a little weird but I dont dislike it. Kinda wish her eyes were a different color tho.

4/10 Childe is fine... but after seeing all the other Fatui designs and his own monster form I look at him like this and go.... REALLY? Thats what were goin with... alright... Also his whole design screams ‘fire’ to me not just colors either the shape of his mask and the pattern on his scarf thing.... its weird that hes Hydro.

10/10 I love the female MCs design... I chose the male MC because his colors popped more and im a dumb animal and was like ‘ooh shiny‘ but I think her design is a bit better over all...

9/10 Male MC is still good... its very cute. I like how she looks more suited to the Anemo and he looks more Geo... Thats pretty cool. I really like his colors... the browns/gold/white... its a striking look.

6/10 Ventis pretty cute... I dont get the weird... corset thing hes wearing, dont like his shoes,,, but other than that its pretty cute but nothing special imo.

10/10 Xiangling is so fucking cute. everything in her design makes me clutch my heart at how endearing she is. Love her. Weird color palette... its even weirder that it fully works.

7/10 Look I love Xiao hes a good lad so I cant be too harsh... but all the colors on his design look a bit weird which really brings his over all design down... which I think is cool over all.

9/10 Really cute design for Xingqiu! The colors are beautiful... I love blue and white and gold obviously and he even does it with more of an emphasis on the blue and its a greenish blue and it looks great. the top is just gorgeous, those frilly sleeves are super cute... not a huge fan of the shorts but I hear theyre comfy and easy to wear.

11/10 You cant tell me what to do! Zhongli is the only male smoke show in the playable cast for that he gets an 11 ok? I love a dumb old man. I do think the coat over his longer coat is a bit weird but I aint mad at it. Love the colors, very earthy, the subtle gold design on his pant legs are cool and really hes got a lot of cool bits on his coat, his face/hair are lovely. Hes a total babe.

As for what Tucker’s face looks like, I’m gonna try and reserve that for a dramatic reveal in a comic cause I really want to for some reason. It’s not so drastic that he, like, doesn’t have a human face anymore, but there are noticeable changes that cannot be ignored.

And... Hell, I didn’t even think of how Felix and Locus would react to him in detail. I have wondered how the Chorusans would view him.

Of course, Tucker also technically wasn’t onboard the ship according to its manifest. The only people who knew Tucker was onboard the Hand of Merope was Tucker’s friends (thanks to some technical manipulation from Epsilon) and possibly Hargrove.

Felix would try and pass off that he’s not exactly freaked out by Tucker, claiming he thinks Tucker is kinda badass (compared to his friends). He does offer to take Tucker’s entire arm in exchange for any kind of services cause, y’know, it’s Covenant tech. When Tucker finally reveals how he got to the way he is, he’s suddenly a lot more desirable to Hargrove. He’s an example of successful human-hybrid alien tech that Hargrove has never seen and he also had an alien baby (not sure how that could be desirable to Hargrove but. I wouldn’t put it past him). 

Entrusting this information adds to Tucker’s guilt about trusting Felix later.

I assume most of the New Republic were really young during the Covenant War and that most of the people on Chorus aren’t as paranoid and scared of Sangheili by lack of exposure. 

Jensen is the one who manages to patch up Tucker’s active camo enough for it to function properly. 

Locus really, really, really wants to kill Tucker. Even though he knows Tucker’s a human being with some alien technology slapped on. Washington figures this out and promptly decides ‘fuck Locus.’ 

And because of Felix’s experience in the war, he manages to figure out Tucker’s armor vulnerabilities and still stabs him pretty bad. It’s even worse here because Dr. Grey has to work around all the cybernetics to fix him up (which begins her absolute fascination with him as a scientific subject, much to his vague terror).

Doyle learns Tucker is a human-alien-cyborg and promptly faints upon seeing him. 

Kimball is, at first, put off by both Tucker’s attitude and his appearance. Most of the New Republic is, actually. He is scary enough that his troops listen, but once again, he doesn’t really show his face. Some people are more annoying about it than others and Dr. Grey isn’t the only one to ask some questions about it that Tucker is unwilling to answer. Kimball is still pretty good about Tucker being a cyborg and still offers him advice and calls him an advantage over the enemy.

seriously the design is SO GOOD!!! how did they manage to get such a cool colourscheme out of his entire Thing being that he has no colours?? like damn i like white being used as an evil colour for once, thanks. it symbolizing emptyness and emotionlessness is like BIG YES and i really hope thats what they were going for cos apparantly the wiki says that all the yokai who join his “we should never be friends with humans” gang turn colourless to match? but like the dude himself is less plain white and more very light shades of blue, grey and gold. MAYBE REFLECTS THAT HE IS A MANIPULATIVE DOUCHE WHO MAYBE DOESNT REALLY CARE ABOUT YOKAI AND JUST WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD PERHAPS dammit why does everything about him scream “great 100% evil guy who is very scary” when man I WANT TO LIKE HIM, DAMMIT!!

ALSO SERIOUSLY the visual effect of the wild spirally red yellow eyes against an otherwise “peaceful” colour whose entire point as an evil is “peaceful” taken to a bad extreme. it REALLY immediately sells that “tries to pretend to be calm, collected and fancy but is actually an angry mofo at heart” vibe i got from his theme song??? I REALLY HOPE THATS ACTUALLY HOW THIS COOL BOSS BATTLE GOES DOWN cos man the best villains are smug asshles who Always Win and then when you FINALLY win you get that much of a better ending!!! but AGH another part of me is like “i hope im wrong because he looks like a Cool Dad and i want him to be good”. also UHHH i dunno it seems kinda weird to me that theyd have this dude running a goddamn political party about humans being bad yet he doesnt seem to have any motivation whatsoever for it? unless it really is just supposed to be ‘he only pretends he wants to protect yokai from humans so he can manipulate and rule the yokai’. but like HYPOTHETICALLY in some universe where he actually lives up to his Grumpy Dad Who Has A Hidden Soft Spot potential, maybe he has an understandable backstory that raises legitimate concerns about how humans are destroying the natural and mythological and forgetting their roots, or other reasonable reasons why yokai could think humans are dangerous and all. i mean we ARE dangerous, we’re just a wide group of people that contain evil bastards and also good people, yknow. And thatd resonate well as a plot probably, cos well the whole point of the series is “in real life ur scared of yokai but theyre actually all goofy pranksters who will be your best friend forever”. Both sides being afraid of each other could lead to some good plotness! and it could be really effective and sad if after hours of joyous childhood wonder the protagonist bumps into the first yokai they couldnt befriend. the first one thats scared of them. the first member of this weird colourless political party who accuses them of committing crimes against yokaikind, of obviously only enslaving these yokai friends cos you have an ulterior motive, just like all humans! it could be effective if its something that shakes up the whole way you saw the world and establishes that hey its not all fun and happiness, and there’s some people you are powerless to convince. maybe even some people you are powerless to save...?

ANYWAY possible idea for ‘what if the dude originally had a sympathetic motive but it got twisted over time and now he’s just a fuck BUT maybe he could still be redeeminated someday ok thanks” What if he’s the spirit of.. like.. ocean pollution? Like there’s some yokai who are ghosts of a mortal person but theres some that are just nature spirits or personifications of concepts. What if he’s the personification of the dying screams of all the wildlife killed in a particular tragic oil spill? hence squid = thematic, and blank white colourscheme = even more thematic reflecting the stain the oil would leave on a pristine ocean and also the blank emotionlessness he was left as after witnessing that tragedy. Cos like his entire Purpose would have been born out of avenging anger but i mean he was just a kid, the only one left alive on a ruined beach and seeing just how powerful humans were and how pointless it would be to try and fight them with his weak power. like he was born to avenge all these souls and he just keeps failing!! his entire reason to live and he’s just too small!! so he ends up becoming bitter and cynical and learning how to use his silver tongue to manipulate others into becoming his weapons, and he vows that someday he’s gonna come back when he has the power he needs to complete his mission. and he’s just forever had this anger seething inside that he’s been unable to get any catharsis from, so when his cold and collected persona cracks he’s really damn scary with all these years of a man who’s grown old fearing he’ll never be able to avenge his ocean friends and just AAAAAA! itd be really good cos itd be a way he could still be intimidating and high stakes as a boss fight but also sympathetic!! also it could make sense why he’d only be redeemable after defeating him? like this entire time he’s been hidden behind a million layers of politics and minions and stuff and its very easy for him to not see the reality of the fact that he’s terrorizing human children just like how humans scarred him as a child. so like his whole big second form transformation super anger mode time would be sort of a last ditch attempt to deny what he already knows, the doubts that have been eating away at his soul now he’s getting close to the end of his life goal. but also like.. he doesnt even know who he IS, under the lies! its been his entire purpose for existing. like he probably uhh.. didnt have much plans after his victory. he probably wouldnt have much will to live left. so yeah you basically beat up this guy’s emotional walls and make him face the face of the people he’s been hurting, when he’s been trying to avoid it for so long. and he gets to see how much all the other yokai genuinely trust you and how much youre personally sacrificing to protect them so maybe you really arent just lying about being a good person...

oh also i was thinking about the inherant hypocrisy present in the fact that this guy is a big spoopy REALLY WELL DESIGNED squid monster that spends all his time in a depowered humansona instead, despite his whole Thing being hating humans. and, yknow, ‘i’ll solve this using a carbon copy of human politics instead of any more traditionally magical way of fighting the humans’. Yeah. So THEORY of SADNESS maybe he like never actually met any other yokai for a long time? I dont think it really makes sense that he’d be hypocritical because he secretly likes humans or something, that wouldnt jive with this backstory idea. So im thinking another explanation could be that he genunely doesnt know much about yokai culture? Like cos of his backstory he just poofed into existance on this destroyed beach in the human world and spent the first few centuries of his life completely alone except for the terrifying monsters that haunted every second of his life, and the knowledge that it was his purpose to defeat them but he didnt know how. And he was a nature spirit of the sea but his sea was empty of everything except death, so he couldnt even hug a cute fish sidekick or something- OH GOD WHAT IF HE DID HAVE A CUTE FISH SIDEKICK AND IT DIED COS OF HUMANS!!! very tiny sad squid monster child holding a dead pet, oh god why did my heart did this to meeee!! so yeah he didnt even know he was a yokai or wtf yokai are, he didnt know anywhere outside the tiny rock pool he would hide in on this barren beach. And then someday he gets found by an older yokai and adopted and like he feels like he owes them so much cos they gave him a reason to live, and a connection to the nature that he was supposed to protect, and.. well.. any companionship at all ever. So thats how his directionless “humans are bad” turned into “yokai are good and i need to protect them from humans like i failed to protect the beach” which turned into “i need to get more power to do this” which turned into manipulating other yokai and seeing them as nothing more than tools to take down the humans, his revenge consuming him until he barely remembered the reasons he originally wanted to do it...

and blablabla thats where we bring in the recolour bonus boss also, and say thats the nice grandpa figure who adopted him when he was all lost and trapped in the human world. and cos he was sorta adopted into nobility thats why he’s so over the top with his pompousness, its like a hint of IM LOVV MY GRANDEPA shining through his grumpface. ALSO maybe a sad situation where the gramps saw his kid growing up into this scary extremist and he tried to reason with him that humans dont need to be destroyed and that led to them fighting and him getting sealed off in recolour bonus boss land. and mckraken sees it as the biggest betrayal of his life and it totally threw him off the slippery slope to feel like the one man he trusted the most was a traitor to yokai all along. but even at his most evil he couldnt bear to actually kill his beloved gramps so he just imprisoned him and tries to stop thinking about it but like THE CONSTANT SPECTRE OF THE GUILT HANGS OVER YOUR HEAD THAT YOU DID YOU GRAMPS WRONGGGG So yehmaybe protag could find the gramps guy and hear about the sad backstory via him and then defeat mckraken and make him realise he was wrong and he apologises to his gramps and atones and all the humans and yokai are friends again and BUNNI CRIES FOREVER the end

yooo so just remembered @britneyshakespeare the divine & sublime rockstar herself tagged me like a couple weeks ago to do this shakespeare tag and even though my very extensive reading history of shakespeare works consists of romeo & juliet, macbeth, and literally nothing else im extremely bored and too much of a sucker for tag things to not want to do it

i have never even remotely seen a shakespeare play live but in terms of just anything ever the first play i ever saw live would probably be my middle school’s production of the little mermaid jr circa 7th grade

“I burn, I pine, I perish!” from the taming of the shrew im aware but of course im only familiar through jgl’s delivery of it from the 1999 classic 10 things i hate about you. really like & relate to that line a lot (not necessarily in a romantic sense but like in an overall yearning/dissatisfaction w life sense)

i could try but would it ever live up to baz luhrmann’s romeo + juliet (1996)? i think not

thoughts on Arrow episode 150? while it was pretty cool to see so many old faces, I can't believe Roy wasn't in the "documentary" or episode at all, esp since he's supposed to be a regular this season. I know we still haven't seen much but what do you think is Kat McNamara's character, esp since she was shown with Diggle's son and seems anti-vigilante? William being back and expelled felt kinda random :/

The Arrow 150 episode was pretty meh for me, story wise.

Yeah, it was nice to get a shock from them old faces, Quentin, Thea and Rory. I... didn’t even realize Roy wasn’t in it, sorry. Now that you’ve said it, yeah, it’s weird that he wasn’t in it, but kinda understandable, plot wise. 

I like Kat’s character, because I really and I mean really enjoying seeing her playing a badass. There’s Something about her, though, we don’t know much about the character, but there’s definitely something up, am I right?

There are theories that she’s Oliver and Felicity’s daughter. It would make sense, it would be something that the writers would do and honestly... I won’t be mad about it. The future timeline is such a shitshow, this would be a good thing in it, I think. 

About William, yeah, it felt random, but I realize it’s necessary. In order for him to grow up and be how we’re seeing in the future timeline, shit needs to happen now, and I wanna see it. I actually really liked him and Rene’s daughter talking. I loved how he almost came out to her, but didn’t, I love how she knew anyway. I think that’s lovely.

I love, a surprising amount, the idea of superhero kids being friends, being just as tight as their parents are. I think that’s great.

But, yeah, anyway, overall, the episode was pretty meh. It didn’t make me as emotional as the 100th episode made me. The story was okay, but not spectacular (why do you keep showing me instances of Team Arrow being Together , when I know that’s not gonna be the case in the future?).

Production wise, though, I really really really loved this episode. I thought the idea with the documentary was weird, at first, but as it went on, I kinda digged it. It was something else, something fresh, and I enjoyed it a whole lot.

It was something special. And I liked it.

I hope ... Well, actually, I hope it won’t get to an episode 200, but if they do... what should they do? 

Supernatural did a musical episode. That’d be something to see *evil grin*.

Random headcanon! The reason you never get to befriend Maddiman is because he doesnt actually have a medal. He had such a traumatic death that his soul was practically cemented to the hospital, and his obsession with completing his ultimate experiment meant he never actually went thru the process of getting a medal registration. He probably has a bunch of yellowed letters taking up space in the corner that are all like "Dear sir/madam, please attend your appointment at yokai world.." He keeps procrastinating it cos his research is so much more important and also yknow..hasnt left the lab in so long he's kinda got social anxiety about walking to the grocery store let alone a parallel dimension DMV.

There are probably a lot of rogue yokai who deliberately refuse to get medals as a Statement about how theyre Totally Badass and dont need human friends. So that could be a possible way that maddiman and mckraken met, a misunderstanding where all mckraken knew was rumours of some powerful unregistered boss yokai in this hospital and he thinks he'll find someone he can sway to his cause but instead its this tiny round human ghost dude. Still, he could prove useful! So they end up striking a bargain of Maddiman not really joining the whole anti humanity army thing but just doing "favors" every now and again in exchange for access to more resources/test subjects for his experiments. Kinda more like a mercenary than a real acolyte dedicated to the cause. A very very round mercenary! So yeah the fight with him in yw1 was just mckraken running out of elite admins and calling up an old friend as a last resort, and maddiman probably didnt even know who you are or why you and squidman are fighting. I feel like thatd make slightly more sense in-character than a dude who used to be a human and only cares about his experiments somehow actually caring about an anti human agenda. Quite possibly was totally oblivious to the entire plot despite also being this dude's right hand man. "Ehh, you mean Squiddy's country club?"

I dunno i just like the idea of "i must bring the full might of my army to capture the loyalty of this fabled super powerful doctor!" *whoops hes a 4 foot tall orb* and *rings up maddiman 5 seconds before the boss fight* "uhhhh dude can you uhhh...boss fight?" All that bollocks with the leadonis and the human disguise was probably just stalling for time while he got ready at such short notice, lol

Also Hans Full being recruitable in Wibble Wobble would be even cuter in this headcanon cos its like Maddiman procrastinated getting his own medal for half a century but he just IMMEDIATELY needed to get one for his perfect precious frankenson so the world can know his greatness! Also seirously Level-5 please let this mean that recruitable Hans is gonna continue in the next mainline game. LET ME HUG THE BABBU!! And his dad!! Someday!!
