Pep Talks, Braids and Good Luck Charms || The DropBack || Shawn Mendes
Description: The homecoming game is here and Matthew and Elsie are noticing everything you hoped they wouldn’t.
A/N: completely winged this chapter since the only thing i had in my notes for it was “homecoming game, jersey” so i just kinda went with it but i’m actually super happy with how it turned out bc we got a lil bit of drama and insight as to why you are the way you are (kind of...it’s introduced at least)
Word Count: 2.2k

“Hey, [Y/L/N],” Shawn said as he bumped his shoulder against yours as he walked up next to you in the hallway. He held up a paper in his hand with a big smile on his face. You gave him a look as you tried to see what the paper was.
“What you got there, Mendes?” You said as you motioned to the paper he held in front of you. He shrugged his shoulders as he tried to hide the smile on his face.
“Oh, nothing, no big deal. Just an A- on my Physics lab,” he said as you finally ripped the paper out of his hand.
“You’re kidding,” you said as you smiled over at him. A blush formed on his cheeks as you flipped through his report and looked over his work and the teacher’s comments. “I can’t believe this! You did so good!” Your happiness radiated off you.
“That would be a D- if it wasn’t for you. You’ve literally saved my grade, and I can’t thank you enough,” he said as you handed him the papers back. It was your turn to blush as you looked the opposite way for a moment.
“It’s not all me. You gotta do the work, too. And you’re trying so hard, and I’m really damn proud of you!” You said as you grabbed his arm and shook him. “Also, you only asked me, like, two questions about this lab. This was all you, hun.”
Shawn couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as you praised him for all of his hard work. At this point, he wasn’t sure if he was trying to work on his Physics grade to get into his dream college or just to make you proud. He’d let himself think it was both.
“You nervous about tomorrow at all?” You asked as the two of you finally stopped in front of his locker. He shrugged his shoulders as he opened his locker and threw his books in there.
“Yes and no?” He said as he looked over at you.
“Why the confusion?” You said through a giggle. He shrugged his shoulders again as he shut his locker and continued to walk with you to the library for your free period.
“I think we can beat them. Adams has been really good this year, but I think we’ve been better. But the whole team has let this get to their head, and that’s the kind of attitude that ends up with us losing the game,” Shawn rambled as he talked with his hands. “I just don’t want a loss to get in the way of our weekend.”
“And it won’t,” you said as you tried to contain your heart beating out of your chest at how he said ‘our weekend.’ You took a deep breath and continued, “I don’t care if you win or not. Of course, I want you to win, but it won’t be the end of the world if you don’t. You just gotta care about yourself. If you honestly tried your hardest, then that’s all that matters,” you said as the two of you sat down at a table in the back corner.
“You give good pep talks, [Y/L/N],” he said with that smirk on his face.
“I’ve given just a few too many in my lifetime,” you said as you pulled out your binder from your backpack. “I’d like to think I’m pretty good with words.”
“You’re really good with words. I, on the other hand, am not,” Shawn said as he gave you a look.
You rolled your eyes at him. “You are doing fantastic today with tearing yourself down. Boost that confidence, Mendes. You need it.”
“Yeah,” he trailed off as he stared down at the empty table in front of him.
You began to work on the math assignment in front of you as you barely noticed Shawn just sitting there.
“Will you wear my jersey?” He finally blurted out.
You looked over at him, and you could see his hand shaking on the table. You smiled at him and nodded your head.
“Of course I will,” you said softly. “Is that really why you were so nervous?”
Shawn sighed as he leaned back in his chair and ran his hands through his hair.
“Yeah,” he mumbled. You kept your laugh to yourself as he looked over at you again. “Don’t laugh,” he said as he hung his head back.
“You’re ridiculous sometimes, Mendes. Star of the football team, heartthrob of the school, already asked me to homecoming, and you could barely ask me to wear your jersey?” You questioned as he leaned his head on his hand and looked at you.
“You make me nervous,” he said just barely loud enough for you to hear. He dropped his head into his arms on the table as you couldn’t wipe the smile off your face or the blush on your cheeks. You gave him a moment to mope before speaking up again.
“Alright, bud. We’ve got a Physics test next Wednesday, so grab your binder so we can get studying,” you said as you tapped on the back of his head.
He groaned as he pulled out his binder and flipped to his practice problems. The two of you were silent as you both worked on the first one.
“I don’t get it,” he finally said after a few moments of silence.
“Of course you don’t,” you whispered. He shoved your shoulder lightly before you leaned over and began to explain the problem to him, but he didn’t hear a word of it. Instead, he watched as you explained it, occasionally motioning around to get your point across.
He was definitely fucked.
“I was told to give this to you,” Matthew said as he gave you a look and handed you the jersey in his hands. You blushed as you grabbed it out of his hands and threw it in your locker. Elsie grabbed it out before you could shut it.
“You’re wearing his jersey?” She said just a little too loud as you grabbed it back and shut it in your locker.
“God, keep it down,” you whispered to her as you pushed her away from your locker.
“What? Everyone will see it tomorrow,” she complained.
“And it’ll look just like the jersey I wear every other time when I leave my hair down,” you told her as you avoided both of their eye contact.
“What’s your problem?” Matthew said in a slightly-too-harsh voice.
“I like Shawn. He’s great. But I don’t want the whole damn school thinking we’re together when we’re not.”
“What’s so bad about people thinking you’re together? It’s bound to happen eventually,” Elsie said.
“I don’t think it will,” you mumbled.
“You’re joking, right?” Matthew said through a laugh. Elsie shot him a look, and he quickly caught on to what was going on.
Everyone stayed silent as the three of you continued walking towards the field for Matthew’s practice.
“You have to stop thinking that nothing good is ever going to come to you,” Matthew finally whispered. You were about to say something when he held his hand up and stopped you. “I get it, but it’s obvious that Shawn really likes you. Don’t push him away just because you think you don’t deserve something good.”
You didn’t say anything. It had always been an unspoken thing. Finding love, a boyfriend, someone to like you, wasn’t a thing you all talked about anymore. You snapped any time Matthew tried to set you up or Elsie questioned you about a guy you were talking to. Eventually, they just dropped it. Until Shawn showed up.
“It’s not worth it, Matthew. I know nothing is going to come of this,” you replied.
“Why can’t it?” He tested.
“It’s senior year. I just met him. We’re out of here in a few months. We’ll probably end up going to different colleges. I fuck everything up anyway. Do you need me to keep going? Or are those enough reasons?” You said to Matthew as you could feel the frustration hitting you. You started taking deep breaths to try to calm yourself down as they both stayed quiet.
“Hey, guys!” You heard from behind you as Shawn jogged up to the three of you. You plastered a smile on your face as you all said hello and acted like nothing was going on. You talked as you made your way to the field to drop Matthew and Shawn off before you and Elsie would head home.
You stood by the gate for a minute as you watched Matthew and Shawn make their way to the center of the field.
“Listen,” Elsie started.
“Don’t,” you warned.
“No, shut up for once,” Elsie snapped. You stayed silent. “I get it. You haven’t really had many great love influences in your life, let alone a relationship of your own, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely hopeless. Yeah, it’s senior year, but who cares if he isn’t the love of your life? He can easily be a guy you date through the rest of the year and then decide your better off as friends. Not everything is as black and white as you think it is. I see you with him. You melt every time he looks at you, but any time we bring him up after he walks away, your walls go up again. You’re allowed to enjoy this.”
“That’s easy for you to say when you met the love of your life sophomore year of high school,” you said as you leaned back on the fence and kicked at the gravel. “El, I wish I could just be open to it like everyone else is, and trust me, I’ve tried, but it’s not that easy.”
Elsie threw her arm around your shoulder as the two of you began to walk to her car.
“I know, I get it. Just don’t count Shawn out just yet.”
You didn’t wear your hair down the next day. Instead, you put it into two braids down your back, so everyone could tell that it wasn’t your last name across your jersey. Even if you didn’t believe this, you were at least going to show everyone you were making an effort.
The school was loud that morning. Everyone was buzzing about plans for that night and for the rest of the weekend. Your school colors were extra everywhere as everyone dressed in them as well as decorated the walls.
You walked up to Elsie and Matthew, and you obviously saw the look they gave each other when they noticed the jersey and the hair.
“Don’t say anything,” you warned.
“I would never,” Matthew said as he gave you the sweetest smile.
You felt an arm around your shoulder and looked up to see Shawn. He winked at you.
“There’s something different about you. Is that a new jersey?”
“Oh, this old thing? Nope, same one I’ve worn every game for the past three years,” you teased as he rolled his eyes at you. The bell rang, and Elsie slammed her locker and motioned for you to go to first period.
“You look good in my jersey, [Y/L/N],” he yelled after you as you walked away. You turned around and looked at him as he leaned against the locker and waited for Matthew.
“Thanks, Mendes,” you said before turning around, your braids ending up over your shoulders, with ‘Mendes’ completely visible.
This was not an easy game. You and Elsie have been gripping each other's hands for most of it as the score kept going back and forth. As much as you didn’t want this to impact tomorrow, you knew Matthew and Shawn would take this to heart.
There were thirty seconds left of the final quarter, and Monroe was down by six. All they had to do was make the touchdown and the extra point, and they’d have the game.
You kept your eyes on Shawn as the quarterback yelled ‘hut,’ and he darted to the far corner of the end zone. Everything went in slow motion as the quarterback threw the ball towards Shawn. Like a movie, Shawn caught it perfectly, and the stands erupted.
You and Elsie couldn’t stop screaming as you jumped up and down with the rest of the student section.
The kicker scored the extra point, and you and Elsie were sprinting to the exit to wait for Matthew and Shawn.
Matthew came out first, sprinting towards Elsie as she jumped into his arms and non-stop congratulated him. You were obviously distracted until you felt an arm wrap around your waist from behind, lift you up and spin you around. A laugh erupted from your chest as Shawn finally set you down, and you turned and saw his beaming smile. You reached up and wrapped your arms around his neck and hugged him with all your strength.
“And with the game-winning touchdown, number 55, Shawn Mendes!” You yelled and imitated the announcer as Shawn laughed at you.
He wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you close to him, your chest pressed against his.
“I’m thinking that you in my jersey must be my good luck charm,” he said low enough so just you could hear it. You rolled your eyes at him and shoved his chest.
“You’ve won every other game this season,” you said. It was his turn to roll his eyes at you.
“Must just be the number.”

Slice of Life: A Total Drama Fanficiton
Chapter 1: First Day Jitters
Point of View(s): Cody Anderson and Heather Mendoza
Chapter Summary: The teens go back to school for their sophomore year of high school! Will a new teacher and new classmates cause strife for class nobody Cody Anderson and queen bee Heather Mendoza?
——————————————————————————
September 3rd, 6:15 in the morning. The alarm on Cody’s phone started. It was officially his first day of sophomore year at the teenager-dubbed “hellhole,” more commonly known as Wawanakwa High School. After what seemed like the shortest summer vacation of his life, he had strong disbelief that going back to school was the right idea. The crisp fall morning brought an attitude of freshness to Cody, despite his dread to leave his bed. He finally crawled out after a self pep-talk and a few tears. Little did he know that sophomore year held more in store for the young man than he could handle.
“I don’t understand why you’re so apprehensive to go to school, Cody. It’s not like you’re getting, like, tortured in hell for eight hours every day.” Izzy laughed, still bounding a few steps ahead of the male. His morning walk for the last three years, now four, had consisted of chasing his neighbor down a block or two before barely catching up to her for conversation. It was a blessing and a curse, but a great deal of cardio each weekday morning.
“Except I AM!” Cody sighed. He was now at an equal pace with the redhead. Her energy levels at such an early time were not understood by the male, but he brushed it aside to continue getting his thought out. “I have a literal fear of Heather Mendoza. That’s not good.” Cody was too busy playing with the straps of his backpack to notice Izzy almost double over in laughter.
“It’s a rational fear. I think everyone fears that-” Izzy stopped laughing as a horn stopped her, causing the friends to peer into the street. What they didn’t expect to see was Noah Archya waving them into his older brother’s car.
“You’re gonna be late.” The brunette whined unenthusiastically, and Izzy compiled by dragging Cody into the street with her. What was the girl thinking? He grumbled in protest as she forced him to climb into the backseat. Why would he want to get into Noah’s car? The two were barely friends, but Izzy was the buffer for the time being. “What were you guys talking about? Seemed funny.” He chimed sarcastically, making Cody’s face go red.
Izzy smiled enthusiastically as she started speaking on the topic again. “Cody’s fear of Heather! Isn’t that so crazy?” She said, almost speaking a mile a minute. The scrawny brunette sent his friend a glare. No one deserved to know about his fears. Especially not Noah.
“Priceless.” Noah chuckled. “I had to work on freshman council with her last year. Sucked ass.” He said plainly, shrugging his shoulders. “I gave up all thoughts of running for president this year.”
Before Cody could even muster up the courage to answer, the car reached its destination. It was quite an oddity, getting a positive and meaningful answer out of Noah Archya. He had no time to mull over it, though. Izzy had already booted him out of the car and chided at him for being a slowpoke. Cody watched the students file over the school campus. Some, mostly freshman, were socializing in the middle of the pathway. Others could care less about conversation and made themselves straight inside.
“The first bell is in three...two...one!” counted Noah, who led the threesome through the wilderness called the hallways. Turns out, they were all in the same homeroom. And to think Cody had a break from the brunette.
On the other side of things, Heather Mendoza couldn’t wait to be back and reigning the halls of Wawanakwa High School. Freshman year was a bit rough, yet she still made quite the reputation for herself. Who knew telling half of the student body about Gwen’s crush on Trent would boost her popularity? And getting her hair cut by Gwen as a result? The perfect catfight. Everything was normal. She was the top of the food chain. The presidential election would come as a piece of cake to her. That was until she entered homeroom.
Wawanakwa’s current sophomore class was one of the smallest in its current cast of students, only being split into two or three homerooms that haven’t changed since freshman year. Heather walked into the classroom, immediately taking the middle seat Lindsay was saving for her. The two had fallen out over summer, but their status of the most popular girls in school kept them together.
“Hi Heather, how was-” Lindsay attempted to start a conversation, before noticing Heather’s drastic change in hair length. “Heather! Where did it go?!” She exclaimed, only for Heather to give a sigh as a response. Sometimes the blonde’s reaction time wasn’t too... outstanding.
“Pasty cut it off. As if she wasn’t already busy enough sucking Courtney’s boyfriend’s face off.” Heather said, loud enough for Gwen to hear. The goth ignored it though because everyone else had already assumed she and Duncan were a couple just because of their appearances. The chatter of the room was brought down by this year’s homeroom teacher, Mr. McLean. He was the new head of the drama department and taught English to teenagers who really didn’t care about why Harper Lee chose to write about Southern racism. Oh, and rumor had it that he once was famous.
“Alright, campers,” The man started, standing up from his desk. “I’m Mr. McLean, call me Chris. I don’t mind it.” He shrugged, now using the surface as a seat. He dressed casually for such a job and looked about in his mid-thirties to Heather. Sort of like the brother she never speaks of. “Enough about me though! Today, we have-”
Mr. McLean was interrupted by Beth Kanassis, resident nerd and wannabe friend of Heather. “Weren’t you on that figure skating show? The one where that guy dropped the girl? Right on her head?” She asked, and you could see the teacher get more and more flustered with every specification she gave.
“What a dumb assumption!” replied Chris, his face reading an emotion Heather couldn’t place. A girl from the back of the room stood up. “It was him! I’ve only seen it about sixteen times, though.” She said with a certainty that some students believed to be...unsure of.
“Speaking of new students, thank you, Sierra, for the confirmation!” An already aggravated Chris said. “Class, we have two new students joining us today!” He continued, staring the purple-haired girl down. “Please give a warm Wawanakwa welcome to Sierra West and Alejandro Burromuerto!” Chris waved the girl and a new, Latin-looking man into the front of the classroom. Given how many girls, and Tyler, were staring at him, Heather could tell Alejandro would be even more trouble than Justin.
“Hello! I’m Sierra, and I can’t-” Sierra already froze up during her introduction. Was it because she finally caught the daggers Heather was sending? The girl gave herself a mental pat on the back before softening her features. Even after she did, Sierra was still starstruck by something in the back of the room. Heather followed Sierra’s sightline to a brunette boy slouched in his desk. Cody Anderson? Oh god.
“Next!” Chris said, nudging Sierra back to her seat. Attention was now focused on Alejandro, the guy who Heather already hated. “Hello, I’m Alejandro. Always Alejandro. Never...Al.” He stated, his voice falling to a malicious mumble towards the end of his introductory statement. Most girls were already tuned out and just in awe, but Heather was listening, alright.
“Sorry, Al, could you repeat that?” Owen, another person Heather wasn’t fond of, asked the question to set him off. Instead of losing it, Alejandro kept his composure. “Please, el gordo, just stop talking.” He chided, returning to his seat after speaking.
So he was transparent, fake and...deliciously seductive? Well, not to Heather. Maybe he would be an easy target to gain as an ally, like Lindsay. But Owen pissed him off, so he was smart enough to comprehend that already. He didn’t know that Heather Mendoza was a force to be reckoned with, though.
Throughout the day, it was like she couldn’t escape the Latin Lover. He was in her honors classes, where she thought she could catch a break from at least some people. Lunch was the only period where she didn’t feel the threatening eyes of the new student. She made her way from the line to the table, immediately stopping when she spotted who Lindsay had already directed to the table. It couldn’t be real.
“Hello, you must be Heather. Lindsay has only said the most wonderful things about you!” Alejandro said, giving Heather that charming smile that made all of the girls, and Tyler, fall earlier in homeroom. He was good, too good, and so perfect. Heather would have to get it through the blonde’s thick skull that hanging around with him was bad news.
“That’s right. And you’re Al, right?” She asked, an emphasis on the nickname he hated. He kept his charming smile, and just blew a kiss to the girl who became an annoyance. Heather gasped, turning her head away from the boy in front of her. She could tell what was running through his mind, but it wasn’t until they were walking back to their lockers when Heather confirmed her suspicions.
“So, what do you think your purpose here will be?” Heather asked, still very uninterested at the thought of this boy. She was only playing nice for Lindsay’s sake. Yeah, for Lindsay’s sake. “You know, when you’re not too busy making everyone look more stupid than you do?”
“I was planning on running for class president. Lindsay suggested it to me. Nothing like a little bit of healthy, friendly competition. Right, Mendoza?” He said, opening the locker that lived three doors away from Heather’s. Thank god that he couldn’t see her face right now, for it was redder than his shirt. How dare Lindsay tell him about her plan? She would have no competition until the dumb blonde opened her fat mouth. Plus, the idea that he could just go and call her Mendoza like that? Unthinkable! No one disrespects the queen bee like that. Maybe behind her back, but certainly not to her face.
“May the best man win, Al.” She sneered, leaving the lockers with a thud and a growl that even scared herself.

#Supergirl S2 Finale Recap & Review Ep 222 "Nevertheless, She Persisted" #Supergirlfinale
Episode grade: 9
When we last saw Supergirl, she was under attack from her more-famous cousin aboard the Daxamite mothership. By way of explanation, Queen Rhea the Smug reminds Kara that Daxam is littered with the detritus of Krypton, which means they have an abundant source of Kryptonite. The variety she's using on Superman is silver, and it's affecting his mind, causing him to hallucinate a battle with Zod. (On Smallville, silver K caused Clark to experience vivid paranoid delusions, so I appreciate the consistency, even though I know the two series are not actually in a shared continuity.)
The fight is really good, too. Comic book fans are used to seeing some pretty thin explanations for why two heroes are suddenly punching each other, but this one is solid, so I'm feeling respected as a fan. Ultimately, Kara triumphs, then collapses in exhaustion.
When they both awaken, Superman makes it very clear that the silver K only affected his mind, not his body; Kara beat him for real, at his full strength.
Because Superman's in town, it would be wrong not to at least talk about Lex Luthor. Lillian visits Lena to deliver Lex's unfinished symphony of anti-Kryptonian tech. She suggests to Lena that while Lex never got it working, Lena might be able to complete his work, reconfiguring it to affect Daxamites instead of Kryptonians. "You could be the Luthor who saved the world," Lillian tempts her.
At DEO headquarters, Supergirl and Superman make a grand entrance. Winn and Superman have an endearing interaction, as Winn clearly hopes to be remembered from last time, and Superman comes through with a compliment and a charming "good to see you again," only to leave Winn blushing and stammering.
Kara introduces her cousin to her boyfriend, and it's a sweet moment, with Mon-El clarifying that he's a Daxamite, but "not like the killy ones."
Kara asks Winn to open a channel to the mothership, and she challenges Rhea to a traditional duel. Kara is the champion of Earth; Rhea represents Daxam. If Kara wins, Rhea and her forces have to leave the planet. Mon-El is really not happy with this plan, because he knows Kara isn't a murderer, and his mother definitely is.
Kara and Clark go off to visit Cat Grant, who, as you may recall, has a deep and unabashed affinity for Clark. They ask Cat to help with the DEO's efforts to clear the area so the duel won't cause civilian casualties, including overeager media. (Although...couldn't they just not hold the duel in the heart of downtown National City? I admit that feels a little strange to me.)
Cat hilariously asks their help intervening with James' alter-ego, because she's worried he'll get himself killed, playing superhero without any superpowers. She tries to use Star Wars references like, "punching out bad guys like he's Darth Vader," and "get killed by a lifesaver." When they correct her on these points, she breezily says she's never seen a Star Wars movie. It's a fun bit, especially because Calista Flockhart is married to Han Solo himself!
Meanwhile, Lena is a hero, so she reaches out to Supergirl about the device she's working on. Supergirl and Superman go to see her and Lillian to learn more. Lena explains it will make the planet uninhabitable to all Daxamites, then asks Supergirl if she knew that Kara Danvers was dating Mon-El. (Agh, Lena, how do you not know??? This is the one part I just don't buy.) Supergirl gives Lena the go-ahead to prep their Plan B, and Winn is dispatched to help Lena with the work.
Kara and Rhea meet for the duel, and Rhea demands that Supergirl swear again to honor the agreement about the duel, and Supergirl says, "On my honor." And now I'm a little confused about honor, because there have been all these wacky moments when Supergirl's sense of honor is so overblown that she rages at Mon-El's lie about his past or she risks her life to offer Rhea a chance to surrender...but now, she's flat-out lying while invoking honor. We know she's lying, because Lena's working on Plan B, with Supergirl's blessing. So...I don't know about this "on my honor" business. Is it meant to indicate that Supergirl has learned there's a time when lying is appropriate? I just don't know.
Not that it matters, of course, because Rhea has zero honor, and we all know it. She starts having her ships and soldiers attack the city, because it distracts and distresses Supergirl, and because if she can't have this place, then no one can.
Superman and J'onn exchange an oath, "Stronger together!" and head into the city to join the fight. (I really appreciate these moments of outspoken feminism and support. Every time they reference Hillary Clinton, my heart swells and aches a bit.) Mon-El goes to help protect the people. M'gann shows up with a bunch of White Martians who share her path of peace.
Lillian is eager to just turn on the device as soon as it's ready, but Lena reveals that she saw this coming and gave the activation control to Supergirl; only Supergirl will make this decision.
Rhea's long-term exposure to the Kryptonite on Daxam has caused her blood to become toxic to Kara; one good punch that breaks the skin, and Supergirl is in trouble! Still, Supergirl is strong and resolute; she's doing well in the fight, but it's clear that Rhea's instructions to her army were of the scorched-earth variety. The Daxamites are not going to leave peacefully, no matter what. Mon-El nods to Kara, knowing she has to activate the device.
Because Mon-El has been here so much longer, he's got a little time before the effects would be fatal. Rhea turns to dust within moments, and good riddance to that bitch. Kara calls Alex to pull the Kryptonite pod out of storage and get it ready, so they can get Mon-El off-world before it's too late.
Now, as a fan of DC Comics, I've always known that Mon-El was going to have to leave because of lead in our atmosphere. But knowing it all along doesn't make it any easier to watch, and that's because of Chris Wood. He's been such a wonderful part of this show all year. Charming, effortlessly likable, hilarious, and so good in these more intense moments, too. I hope he sticks around The CW, because I watch almost every show on this network, so I have a good chance of seeing him again soon.
I appreciate that the show made time to share my pain, as my eyes were filled with tears. Superman is the first to offer his condolences, admitting to Kara that he's not sure he could have made the selfless choice she just made; if he had to sacrifice Lois to save the world, he might fail that test. He tells her again that she's truly the stronger of them.
Alex talks to Kara next, and afterward, she immediately proposes to Maggie, because life's too short, and love is everything.
Kara visits Cat again, and Cat delivers another inspiring pep talk. After Kara leaves the room, Cat calls her Supergirl...so, she does know, I guess, which makes sense...but Lena doesn't? Anyway...
Lillian takes credit publicly for vanquishing the Daxamite invasion. Since the DEO is a secret organization, they probably can't offer any contradictory evidence. At least maybe Lena will continue to distrust her vicious mom, who took the role of "the Luthor who saved the world" for herself after all!
In the Kryptonian pod, Mon-El is zooming through space, then gets sucked through a wormhole! I 100% predict he's being sent to the future, where he will become a member of the Legion of Superheroes.
Finally, we go back in time to the destruction of Krypton again, and this time, there is a third pod revealed as having launched after Kal-El's and Kara's. The people surrounding the pod are all very creepy with black hooded robes, skull emblems on the walls, and a general ominous vibe. We can't see the baby-shaped thing they're loading into the pod, but we do see one of the caretakers feed it a drop of blood from her finger.
I'm predicting the Season 3 villain is Doomsday. Any other guesses? And will everyone miss Mon-El as much as I will?
