Artifact Rumble– The Brothers’ War
If you’d like to see more content like this a week early; vote in polls to determine what I make next; and get exclusive access to d100 tables, subclasses, NPC factions, and more, feel free to sign up and support me on Patr*on! (You can find the link at the top of my page.)
Some older content, this released about 2 weeks ago for my supporters, but I try not to make my newest stuff public until I’ve got new content ready to share there. This was the result of my monthly Artifact Rumble poll, a themed poll for magic items and constructs; sometimes it’s Magic: the Gathering based, but I also regularly do magic items inspired by things like DMC, GoW, Fable, Elder Scrolls, and more.

Maro’s The Brothers’ War Teaser
Before previews for The Brothers’ War officially begin, I thought it would be fun to do another of my Duelist-style teasers where I give tiny hints of things to come. Note that I’m only giving you partial information.
First up, here are some things you can expect:
• over ten legendary Human Artificers
• another card with “end the turn”
• a command with X in its mana cost
• a spell that mimics an element of the effect of a creature that was originally printed with the picture of a World Champion on it
• a Teferi with a new way to gain loyalty counters
• equipment with “Equip Soldier”
• a new Onulet
• protection from everything returns
• a white creature that taps to let you and an opponent draw a card
• one colored artifact
Next, here are some rules text that will be showing up on cards:
• “create a tapped Powerstone token for each other creature you control.”
• “Put a +1/+1 counter on target Assembly-Worker you control.”
• “Whenever one or more creatures with mana value 3 or less enter the battlefield under your control,”
• “Permanents you control have ‘Ward – Sacrifice a permanent.’”
• “Whenever you cast an artifact spell with mana value 6 or greater,”
• “For each card type among noncreature spells you’ve cast this turn,”
• “Create a tapped 3/3 colorless Zombie artifact creature token.”
• “Look at the cards in each pile, then turn a pile of your choice face up.”
• “gains your choice of flying, vigilance, deathtouch, or haste.”
• “Whenever you cast a Beast or Bird creature spell,”
Finally, here are some creature type lines in the set:
• Artifact Creature – Ape
• Creature – Mole Horror
• Artifact Creature – Phyrexian Wurm
• Creature – Phyrexian Human Assassin
• Creature – Minotaur Barbarian
• Creature – Elf Druid Soldier
• Creature – Human Artificer Scout
• Legendary Creature – Human Wizard Advisor
• Legendary Creature – Elf Druid Scout
• Legendary Creature – Human Artificer Advisor
For the answers to these puzzles and so much more, tune in to the official Magic YouTube channel or twitch.tv/Magic at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET *October 27* to watch the debut video for The Brothers' War. We'll kick off previews leading into an amazing weekend with the World Championship (airing on Twitch.tv/magic Friday-Sunday) and Magic 30.

Thoughts on anything Brothers war related?
I'm so glad they went with not changing anything from the Brothers' War with the time travel after all, the marketing was worrying.
The card set exaggerates some stuff a lot (mostly the city-sized mechs, that's much bigger than anything we see in the story.)
It's a shame they didn't republish the novel in paper for the set, copies are pricey. At least the ebook is available.
I don't mind Transformer cards existing, but they have no reason to be associated to this set.
I'm glad to see I was on the exact same wavelength as Wizards for the set:
The WWI feel is a great garnish on the conflict that gives it a bit more of a unique feeling in magic.
The episodes in the past for the story were great! The chapters felt a bit more chugging along and didn't stand out as much, but they're building up for the larger arc.
