Hey ! Can I request for Teacher Gojo x Student reader , where she falls in love with him in her first year, and Gojo clearly notices that but didn’t say anything because it was a really a big ego boost for him when she would follow him around like a puppy. So she confessed to him on her graduation day , third year but got rejected because she was his student. She was of course heartbroken but tried to move on by dating some random sorcerer. This bugged Gojo quite a bit and confronted her, things got escalated quickly from there. As for the ending I will leave it to you, however you want.

Slowly, you lifted your head and looked at Gojo with tear-filled eyes

"S-Sensei, I love you! Really... I-if it's for your career, w-we can keep it a secret... Please..."

Instead of giving you the response you desperately sought, Gojo just smiled and ruffled your head, treating you like a beloved pet.

He smirked, giggling as he closed the box. His gaze met yours, and he noticed how dejected you looked, holding your skirt, your head bowed, and lips trembling.

Back in your room, you climbed into bed and cried until you fell into a restless sleep.

Months passed, and Gojo carried on as if nothing had transpired between the two of you. His gaze never wavered, his treatment of you remaining the same as on the first day.

A part of you embraced this familiarity, appreciating that he didn't let your confession affect his relationship with you. Yet, another part of your heart ached, longing for the transformation of his eyes from mere teacher-student affection to something deeper, more profound.

Your world was shaken when a new student, Ryōta, entered your midst. Gojo introduced him with great enthusiasm, and as your eyes met, Ryōta offered you a warm smile. In that brief moment, you appreciated his handsomeness when his lips curled into a smile.

Meanwhile, Gojo noticed the way you looked at Ryōta.

He didn't know why, but suddenly a feeling of uneasiness came over him.

One such day, the bell rang for recess, and you and Ryōta stood up, preparing to leave the classroom. However, Gojo called out to you, his tone was as cheerful and playful as ever, and he had his signature grin on his face. He was sitting cross-legged on the chair watching you.

"Y/N-Chan, aren't you going to ask your perfectly knowledgeable sensei new things about curses~?"

You flashed Gojo a smile, dismissing his inquiry. "Sorry sensei, I'm going to spend some time with Ryōta-kun. Maybe I'll ask you later!" Your gaze shifted to Ryōta, your tone brimming with excitement. "Let's go, Ryota-kun!''

You left Gojo behind, oblivious to the turmoil his rejection had caused in him. You'd rejected him in a way, your preference for Ryōta evident. Gojo realized that he no longer held a special place in your eyes, just another teacher. Your eagerness to be around him had waned, and you no longer followed him like a devoted puppy.

This feeling of being ignored gnawed at him, strange and unsettling. He didn't like how comfortable you seemed with Ryōta or how you laughed with him. The thought of holding hands, perhaps more, filled him with jealousy and a sense of loss.

Ah yes, Cecily Knight. Everyone, everywhere knows who Cecily Knight is. This petite blue-eyed blonde is the captain of the swimming team, and regularly publicly humiliates anyone that attempts to get to know her romantically.

With such a strong reputation, Cecily manages to order around anyone in the school with ease, as they all lower their heads when she passes them on the hallways.

However, observing her more closely can reveal that she is much more docile with her friends and loved ones. Is she actually an ice queen or is it all a facade to protect herself?

Connor Cobb

With his long blond hair and piercing smile, Connor tends to attract every girl that passes his way. However, he manages to make them all leave once he opens his mouth, as his desperation can be seen from miles away.

As the star guitarist of The Fighting Rooster, Connor is an incredibly talented individual that planned the whole part of the Tragedy where they befriended you first before destroying your life.

Though he seems like a total idiot, looking into his life seems to reveal that there is more to him than just this fake persona he shows everyone. With 3 younger siblings, Connor seems to have a lot on his shoulders as many in his family look up to him.

With his curly red locks and emerald eyes, Isaac manages to trick many people into thinking he is someone they would like to get to know. As the mastermind behind the Tragedy, he is the worst out of all the people on this list.

It is quite common for him, even 7 years later, to bully students so badly that they decide to move schools. By observing his behavior, it seems that all he cares about is being thoroughly entertained.

Either make him laugh, do something outrageous, or get out of his way, as he will do his best to make every day more interesting than the last.

Vivian Porter

Vivian turned from Isaac’s best friend in her childhood to Dylan’s current confidant. With a seemingly perfect appearance and an endless wardrobe, Vivian manages to impress anyone that sees her pass by.

She is incredibly empathic, being able to tell what anyone is feeling at a glance, allowing her to use this skill to make anyone fall for her ambitious tricks.

Is she just someone that just made a mistake during childhood or are her intentions impure at this age as well?

Haley Freeman

As Isaac’s twin sister, nobody would expect her to be the biggest goody two shoes the world has ever seen. Seemingly stuttering her way through most conversations, people usually tend to forget she even exists.

Marcus Parmer

Marcus has led a horrible life during high school. Being diagnosed with a medical condition forcing him to go bald, he has been constantly bullied by Isaac ever since he joined the Baseball team.

He is much more serious than any of the allies you can find in the school, but he isn’t the most capable person for the job. He is, however, excited to help you get rid of the scum pretending to be students in his school.

Some insight on their character if you’re interested:

Nuria (Strawberry gremlin on the left):

Nuria is a highly optimistic and friendly ten-year old who loves her family greatly. However, she is also incredibly noisy, hyperactive, and can be pretty annoying at times (which might be normal for a kid like her, but she takes it to the max). Despite her chaos though, she can be very clever and sneaky at times, picking up patterns and new skills relatively easily.

She’ll eat practically anything, including things that are mostly inedible, but her favorite food is the banana pancakes Reala makes.

Although she can’t fly like Reala, she is very quick on her feet, and can climb pretty much anything. She also has a pretty strong grip and can pack a mean punch (or an even meaner CHOMP).

She can paraloop things (and people) by sprinting in quick circles around them (she has done this to the furniture in the house many times, much to her parents’ dismay).

She has a great love for music thanks to her other dad, Amigo, and loves to dance along with him when he plays the maracas. She also knows how to play quite a few instruments herself, including the cymbals, trumpet, piano, and her favorite, the accordion.

One of the very few things that can nullify her chaos is a fruit costume, like if you were to put a cat in a sweater lol (her parents realized she looks like a strawberry when she was a baby, so they put her in a strawberry costume, which she has since paralooped to who knows where).

She likes to color, terrorize children at the playground, and wants to be a dancer or musician when she grows up, like Amigo.

Endri (Bubblegum menace on the right):

Endri is a very charming and charismatic fifteen year-old who knows just what to say to either make someone confident in themselves, or to make them feel like a powerless bug (he often prefers the latter). He can be very sassy and full of himself at times, but he genuinely cares for his friends and family and especially his cousin Nuria, with whom he is closest.

He’s a rather picky eater, not daring to touch something that looks anything less than presentable, his favorite food being Space Filet Mignon with potatoes. He does enjoy a good ice cream sundae every now and then, however.

He’s capable of flying like NiGHTS, which he makes sure to do with grace and precision. He’s familiar with using Chu and Hey rescue beams like Ulala, and can hold his own in a funky dance battle, preferring that compared to hand to hand combat. However, if it’s necessary, he won’t hesitate in getting physical.

He knows how to Drilldash and Paraloop, but has trouble controlling his ability to do so, which frustrates him to no end.

He’s almost always wearing his headphones, making sure he’s well informed on the latest gossip and drama going on.

Hates space calculus with a burning passion but loves English and history classes. He excels in his dance classes in school as well.

He wants to be a Channel 5 reporter similar to Ulala when he grows up, but moreso on the side compared to his main dream of being a bigger live streamer.

but i have a question. i havent had the time to read the manga or the light novels (yet) but its been bugging me. why DID the anime change chuuyas eyes to blue??? it always felt kinda weird to me

i do like the idea of chuuya having some kind of french heritage, given that the real-life chuuya took inspiration from french poetry in his work.

but giving him blue eyes always felt.. not quite right? bc hes a japanese person and YES he has red hair, which isnt typical, but the red hair blue eyes combination doesnt sit quite right with me

Imo Dazai was such a scene stealing character in the anime and had such a massive presence that they needed to ensure Chuuya wouldn't fall flat. Harukawa's style is very understated with more subdued colouring. Chuuya automatically stands out in the manga because there we already knew Chuuya was an important figure cause of Dazai's profile bringing him up but also because the manga doesnt really use colours so Chuuya isn't gonna end up looking like random tree no. 5. In the anime, the colours are a lot brighter and more vibrant. Dazai himself goes from an average attractiveness on a very charismatic man in the manga to ridiculously baby girl hot. Chuuya being a minor character with very little screentime needed to share scenes with him and his canon colour palate would have made him get overshadowed. He needed to make an impact and really stand out. Kunikida's colour palate in the anime for instance sort of falls flat because they kept it almost the same as the manga but he is just tan and blonde which works in Harukawa's style and the black and white manga but kinda fades away next to the stronger more eye catching colours of the rest of ADA.

That being said Chuuya has japanese parents as seen in sb and natural ginger hair while rare does exist amongst japanese people, they however dont have blue eyes. The red hair and blue eyes were probably elements added to make him more striking.

Also Ranpo has green eyes and Oda has blue in the anime. They all have brown eyes in the manga.

The partial heterochromia chuuya is a very fun hc. I however tend to prefer it with both colours in the same eyes as opposed one in each. That reminds me of a friend.

Raphael was born first. Making him the oldest.

When he got his powers at 5 years old, they were too much to handle and it often hurt other people.

Because of this, Raph avoided touching anyone with fear of hurting them in mind.

When he was 6, Raph wanted to be his younger brothers’ hero. So he did his best to protect his brothers.

When the family was evacuated from their planet when he was 7, Raphael was still overprotective with his family, he would often be attached to their side at all times.

When the ship got attacked however, he was separated from his family again and landed in Russia.

He was often treated like some sort of monster, so when he was found by TCRI they wanted to make him a killing machine.

For 4 years, Raph suffered and believed that he was a monster.

When he was 11, the TCRI building he was held in was destroyed by The FOOT.

He was eventually discovered in the rubble by Baron Draxum and was brought back to headquarters.

The three leaders decided to take him in and made him a strong warrior “hero” , naming him “Phoenix”

Despite the harsh training and the pressure he was faced, Raphael was devoted to The FOOT, since for once in his life he wasn’t treated like a monster.

For 7 years, he was given many tasks, most of them was used as a secret weapon to attack enemies if they dared attempt to fight back against The FOOT. Raph didn’t know this, and thought he was squashing bad guys like a hero would.

Sadly, when he was 17, it was discovered that he was only being used for his strong abilities and strength and not for him as a person. When he was deemed not strong enough, he was abandoned and left to die.

However, he was discovered once again by a family of 4. Instead of being used for his strength, he wasn’t used for anything. He was only needed for just him. Just Raphael.

I know the joke is that there's so many Robins. Few of us would say it's really that bad of a thing though. And if there was another Robin, I have an idea for what direction could be taken.

Another common thing is that none of the Robin's like being in galas, hate the fakeness of the people and the discomfort and all that. What if we had a Robin who actually liked that setting though? Liked being in the fancy setting and being able to play the game of upper crust internal politics? It is a side of how to change Gotham for the better that often gets neglected, getting the rich to donate in ways to actually help the city then slowly fostering actual care of the city and it's people so that the very culture of the upper class will make them all the more likely to do what's good for Gotham such as to keep offering jobs within Gotham and don't cheat your workers out of their money if only because it hurts their public face to do so. Through playing the politics, people can he convinced to do things that you want them to for your goals. An understanding of how it works is necessary along with a willingness to get in the thick of it and blur some lines, things perfectly reasonable for one of the Batfam to do but is never really touched on much because none of the current ones have quite the right personality to pull it off. And what sort of personality could?

There was a show in the 1950's called Hogan's Heroes, where Colonel Robert Hogan led his crew of international espionage agents in over the top hijinks as they disrupted the Nazi war effort while being in the 'toughest pow camp in all of Germany', Stalag 13. It's a madcap sitcom that is genuinely humorous while also making sure it's somber moments were kept somber. And is honestly all around great. I would highly recommend. Anyway, the reason I bring it up is for the main character, Hogan. Personality wise, he is utterly charismatic and knows how to use it, loves nothing more than to snark a little and pull pranks since he enjoys being mischievous. However, that's only one side of him, a side he emphasizes when he's trying to be underestimated. The other side is very much a serious planner, more of a Indy Ploy planner that leaps on opportunities as they come than a Batman planner, but a planner nonetheless. He knows his goals and he's near ruthless in achieving them. However, he does have limits. He won't abandon his men, no matter what. He won't abandon innocents or allies counting on him either. He also often seeks to minimize how many are killed by his actions, finding ways to complete missions without anyone dying if at all possible. Of course, he is in a war, he is up against some genuinely evil men at times instead of just those scared and sacrificing everything to survive, and this was a 50's sitcom with some character inconsistencies across episodes. Deaths do happen, some of the non-deaths might be worse, and there are sometimes where he directly causes a person's death without being at all guilty about it and you can't really blame him. But in a different setting, I could see him as someone willing to not kill anyone. At the very least, it helps show that he does have a moral code even with all his lies, thieving, and manipulations. On top of that, their barracks is secretly outfitted with a lot of very outlandish makeshift gadgets, such as a pipe periscope that looks out from a water barrel that's viewed through sink handles and a coffee pot connected to a bug in Klink's office that's hidden in a photograph of Hitler where he's speaking into a microphone. And the peice de resistance

All in all, a teenage form of Hogan would be a perfect Robin candidate with His Heroes also making good candidates for his future team. There would be a lot of natural tension with his time with Batman as their personalities are similar but conflicting. But it could resolve and we would have Rob both as someone that can take on the playboy schmoozing aspect of Bruce's Batman role and so take on the public spotlight to better hide any family secrets while also playing the politics game with the elites and also be their go-to infiltrator as sometimes, having someone that is just good at infiltrating places and acting like they belong there is the best way to get into places and find out secrets. Dick can act and Jason's a drama kid, but neither of them really (as far as I know) make infiltration a core skill of their's, nor do any of the others except Batman with his Match Malone persona. So having someone who can fit that role would be good, especially as the rest cover other aspects of being Batman such as Straight-Forward Crime Fighting (Dick), Seeking Ways to Change the Status Quo for the Better/Seeking to Help Those Trapped in the Cycles of Desperation(Jason, even with the disagreements about how he's doing it), Detective Work/Gadgetry (Tim), etc. [It's late, and I'm really going off of other tumblr posts and fanfic for what seems to be the core thing].

How do we get Rob into Gotham and adopted by Bruce though? For my take, there's a bit of referential humor. The actor who played Hogan was named Bob Crane. And the DC universe happens to have Scarecrow, aka Jonathan Crane. Now, I'm not absolutely sure how this part would work. But my idea was that Rob was sent to live with his uncle Jonathan after the death of his mother. Jonathan isn't sure about having a kid living with him and is considering throwing him out to foster care. But Rob convinces him to give him a chance and he could help pay his keep (Rob being unaware of Jonathan being Scarecrow). Jonathan's intrigued and so allows it. Rob then hears about a gala going on, steals himself a nice suit, strides in like he's just another idle rich kid, then manages to talk and conjole several people to give him money for some academic research his father's brother is doing. He then heads back to Jonathan with little over a thousand dollars. Jon, needless to say, is impressed, and so allows him to stay if he'd gather more funds, which Rob agrees with.

Bruce gets on the case after hearing about several people suddenly giving money to Scarecrow. As the money and checks aren't falsified and the donators do recall giving money, Batman's left wondering if this is a sign of Scarecrow having made a new form of fear toxin that makes people do what's commanded of them. There's no evidence for that though and he gets no real leads until he's at a gala and sees Rob for the first time, laying out his usual charm and getting people donating to him. Bruce then makes his way over and tries to covertly find out what's Rob's angle in all this, but Rob is evasive and manages to slip away. He does leave the glass he drank from though, so Bruce is able to get that for DNA sampling.

From that, he figures out how Rob's tied up in all this then tries to encourage him to get away from Jon before there's trouble, but Rob brushes it off, sure he can handle anything Jon can do before Rob's finally 18. It's after this talk that Rob returns and finds out what experiments Jonathan is doing and who he is. Before he can try to escape though, Jon gets him and forces him into a box to be kepted until Rob would be willing to keep getting him the money or Rob became a living test subject. Rob's locked away then for some time to contemplate the choice.

Batman then comes and gets him out of there. He then gets him fostered under his roof and the rest is history.

Dr. Jazi Toma is a transmasc Iranian scientist who was a eccentric, but respected man in his fields. Studying biology and genetics, his research had helped many, from easing genetic diseases, splicing livestock and crops to become more healthy, and advocating ecological preservation. He had also worked in teaching at various universities, and had even worked in hospitals and performed surgeries for those in need. Despite being so respected, Jazi was also incredibly controversial, as he had created many spliced creatures from merging genetics of various animals together, and has even experimented with his own genetics, whilst all his creations are perfectly healthy and he has claimed his modifications have made him healthier, the implications his work gave in how malleable genetics seem to be had raised many questions and concerns for ethics by other scientists. There had even been rumours of Jazi experimenting and splicing the genetics of other humans, but he had made no comment on these rumours and tends to dodge them when confronted about it. However, these criticisms and rumours eventually came to give Jazi a low reputation, and it was found that he was giving unauthorised surgeries to patients, though Jazi claimed he was only helping those in need, it was found said surgeries gave unauthorised genetic modifications to them from nonhuman material. Whilst the patients after the modifications were found to be healthy and otherwise normal and some even claimed to have requested the modifications in the first place to survive, Jazi was dubbed a mad scientist and ostracised from the scientific communities. Regardless of how people now percieve him, Jazi mostly prefers to keep to himself nowadays, and lives alone working in his lab with all of his genetically modified critters that he treats as his own beloved pets and babies. Personality wise, Jazi is a... strange man, he is known to be affable and caring, but his fascinations in biology can go to even a morbid degree, often curious to see what he can create with his monsters. As a result of mostly being isolated in his lab and not having a lot of interaction nowadays, Jazi can also at times act touch starved to anyone who has managed to grow close to him. - Jazi was made as a sona to express both my transition goals, and... also cuz I think mad scientist monsters are super gender lol. He's in the middle ground of a sona and his own character, but he is very personal as a result. Jazi also has a monster form as a result of his genetic experimentation, for convenience he rarely turns into this form, but it is sometimes more comfortable for him to turn into this form and its a good way for him to relax or defend himself from any intruders that want to harm his laboratory.

Name: Laline

Species: Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk Moth

Gender: Female

   As you can tell from the species name, Laline is a bee mimic. She came to the kingdom of Hollownest in hopes of making her fortune in trading, as she heard the market in Dirtmouth was beginning to become profitable once again. 

   Though her main plan was to sell necessities to the builders and tradesmen rebuilding and restoring Dirtmouth, soon after arriving she found a much more profitable venture. Before arriving, she had heard rumors about the controversy surrounding moths and had already planned to masquerade as a bee. After she got settled in Dirtmouth and went down to explore more of Hollownest, she heard about the Hive. She also heard about the tensions between these two kingdoms and how the Hive very rarely sold any of their excess honey to Hollownest due to how heavily taxed it was. However, this tax would only apply if it came from the Hive directly, a third party seller would be exempt from this. The Hive had attempted this before, but had too many instances of the sellers trying to cheat them or trying to make more profit by watering down the honey. They also found that sales were lower and bugs were not willing to pay as much for honey not sold by a bee due to having less trust in it being authentic.   

   After gaining an audience with Queen Vespa, Laline proposed a contract between her and the Hive for her to sell the honey for them. The license she obtained that allows her to sell in the Kingdom does indicate that she is not a member of the Hive (this was only asked because the bug making her license assumed she was a bee) so she gets around the tax. Queen Vespa was intrigued, as no other potential seller had been willing to enter into a contract and the terms that Laline was proposing were fair. It was agreed by both parties that there would be a month trial period before the contract would be finalized a signed, but this ended up occurring after two weeks. Laline is a brilliant trader and she is one of those rare people who can haggle fiercely without leaving behind any hard feelings. In her hometown, it was often said that she could sell a bug their own shadow and they would leave happily, feeling as though they made an excellent deal. 

   Queen Vespa and a few other members of the Hive are aware that Laline is actually a moth. She was very upfront with Vespa about this. Vespa has no problem with Laline allowing other bugs to think she is a bee. The Hive has never had any issues with the moth tribe themselves and Laline looking like a bee improves their honey profits. Also, Vespa does find some humor in the idea of pulling one over on those stuck up aristocrats in charge of the Hollownest trade markets as well as the Pale King.   

   Laline is a very charismatic and friendly bug. She has many acquaintances and friends, though has very few close, intimate friends. This, of course, is mostly due to her current deception. She is aware of moth culture and was raised in its practices. Before coming to Hollownest, she knew more than the average bug about bee culture, but is learning even more due to her relationship with the hive. She quite likes her current life in Hollownest, though she does find it annoying how often she needs to explain to bugs that there are bee species that live independently and never become members of hives.

Lately, everything has been hectic— on both sides anyway.

Was it really your fault? Or was it his fault? In fact, it wasn’t either of yours faults. UA was just very meticulous about what the students should be doing when and how.

Then again, it wasn’t like you never saw your boyfriend— Todoroki Shouto; the boy with dual colored hair that could easily blend in with the peppermint candy isle. That’s not the point though, you do actually see him

The only time you get to actually spend some time with him, is when the two of you are in each other’s rooms. Either enveloped in each others arms, or really— doing the most random things, at the most random times.

Or the other possible outcome, watching shows together. Which would rather be right about now.

Shouto lays right beside you, his right arm draped around your shoulder to keep you in his firm hold. Meanwhile, you’re cuddled up right on his side, occasionally pressing your face into his shirt because why not?

“For crying out loud! can’t they just date each other already?!” You exclaim in absolute agony, watching the two main protagonists— Ladybug and Chat Noir, be playful with each other mid-battle.

Shouto’s gaze averts down onto you, and in reality— he doesn’t look all that invested, compared to you, who’s making commentary everytime something drastic happens in the episode. If he wasn’t, you couldn’t really blame him. He only just started watching this show with you merely a few days ago (really, it has only been 2 days.)

“Aren’t they like.. the same people?” He’s puzzled. The masks hide nothing! Even he could piece together that the two heroes could be linked to their civilian selves— most especially, Marinette. Since her persona doesn’t really have a drastic change her appearance, in comparison to her partner.

“Yes, that’s what makes this entire show so.. interesting! They’re so.. oblivious! And this has been dragging on for several years!”

Shouto’s confused, in all honesty. Really, what even is the love square? can’t they just say who they are? he’d guess that the mechanics are different, compared to the real world— where people already know who you are (excluding special cases)

He has so many questions, and his train of thought is put to an end, when he hears a high pitched squeal—

“DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?” You practically squirm in his hold, thrashing back and forth as you replay the scene of Chat Noir kissing Ladybug’s hand, as he bids farewell to her.

“He.. kissed her hand?”

“Yes!” You replay the scene, and you thrash around in your spot on the bed, practically fawning over the simple gesture. His expression falters when he sees you slip out of his grasp, and he can only gently pull you back in

When you kiss his cheek goodbye, as you part ways with him, he’s left sitting in silence. He doesn’t know what to think

I mean, it really could be a stretch of a situation. Why else would you be squealing watching such simple acts of romance— and it all seems too easy. Maybe you like guys similar to Chat Noir? who are natural romantics, and people that are just oozing of confidence? Maybe you love hand kisses? (It’s not like he doesn’t give you them, but.. out in public? not really.)

Or maybe.. there’s something else.

And maybe you like being called M’lady, and names similar to that? he doesn’t really know.

Which is why, he decides to binge at least half of the show, and understand the lore of “Miraculous | Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir”

You’re puzzled when Shouto starts acting differently

I mean, it could be a dare for all you know— but he doesn’t seem like the type to drag out a dare for 5 days. He wouldn’t be that committed to a.. what would you call this?

It’s.. just different. He’s acting differently, and you could just hope it’s a prank, or even a drawn out consequence of a bet he manage to lose— it would be nice to know about the sudden change of attitude.

He says nothing the next time you guys have another miraculous marathon, nothing out of the ordinary! however, the youngest Todoroki seems to be wanting to do.. something.

As per usual, you’re seated next to him, a change compared to the usual times where you’re slumped against his side, which really— bugged your boyfriend.

Your eyes stayed glued onto the screen, as you attentively watched Chat Noir pull Ladybug down from a dangling roof, chest to chest, shushing her, as if he wanted to tell her all of the things that were on his mind at that exact moment

“It’s happening, it’s happening!” You squeal, as if it wasn’t the 10th time you played said scene— and by the looks of it, you’re a ‘ladynoir’ fan.

You can’t see it, but his two toned eyes narrow down into slits— and he grumbles, knowing that he probably should just.. do it. There’s not stopping it now, he’d take the chance.

When the moment nearly happened, you body made an impulse— and simply moved on it’s on, without much thought.

You wouldn’t have noticed it, due to the awfully large (to an outsider, it wasn’t a large distance, but to him, it was.) distance— but you’re awfully aware of the warm hand trailing down your forearm, your body immediately relaxes when he tugs on your arm with care, peppering kisses along your forearm, and going down to the backside of your hand.

“W-what are you doing?!” You exclaim in surprise, your cheeks heating up like a fresh batch of toast coming out of the toaster. Yet, your hot-cold boyfriend says nothing, and continues to plant kisses onto your skin with no hesitation.

Then, he makes a point to trail back higher and higher, every time his lips press against your skin, you only grow closer to the brink of overheating.

“I figured you’d be interested in such a gesture,” He mutters against the crook of your neck, not caring at all if the kiss he just pressed against your delicate skin, was rather damp at all.

You’re still stunned, you’d question whoever wouldn’t! A second ago, you were just watching cartoons and.. he was—

“I thought it would be nice to.. replicate them.” His gaze shifts onto the screen, referring to the cartoon, of course.

He.. was copying the show?

“You mean by.. flustering me like how Chat Noir flusters Ladybug?”

“You said it, not me.” Which only confirmed your previous theories and questions. You don’t know why and how you didn’t see this all before— but it does make sense now.

You fall forward, bursting into laughter. The effect of his actions seem to be the opposite of what he was hoping for

“I’m sorry, did I..”

“No! You actually got me, don’t get me wrong. You absolutely wooed me!” You poke at his cheek, in a poor attempt in brightening up the hush mood.

“In all seriousness, you don’t need to copy whatever Chat Noir does! Do what feels natural to you, and as much as I really liked that kiss, I prefer.. your signature style of kisses.” Shouto didn’t get the chance to question what you meant at that moment— it being all too quick, since you lifted his arm to rest against his side, your gaze suddenly apologetic “I’m sorry if you felt like you were doing things wrong. No character from a TV show can rival you!”

The knot that he didn’t even know existed, slowly eased away from the pit of his stomach. He smiles, content with your words— he didn’t know how you did it, how you knew the way to his heart with your words but.. he’s happy

“But it did work though, right? I did make you flustered.”

Yeah, Shouto is back to normal, when his terribly blunt questions come back.

And yeah, Chat Noir might be charismatic and swave, but at the end of the day— anything Shouto does fills you with satisfaction, up until the brim.

lawrence post ending fic (good ending.)

authors note: honestly it's pretty short.

he had dragged you down to the basement when the zombies came in, für elise still rang in your ears, all these days later.

you felt sick, unable to stop feeling warm and fuzzy when the ex. leader came into your part of the basement. in the beginning, you didn't notice much besides the fact that you were trapped here. however you soon noticed the walls were covered in foraged posters of your favorite movies and bands. he really did listen.

lawrence knocked on the wall before opening the curtain that divided your living arrangement. "hello, i finally got the propane stove to work, and i made dinner." it was pancakes on plates that look more fit in a grandma's china cabinet then lawrence's hand.

you wanted to hate him, you wanted to blame the feelings on stockholm syndrome. however your heart swelled at the basic acts of kindness that lawrence presented you with.

"thank you. it looks good."

you praise him even just a little and he responds like an orphaned dog who was called a "good boy" for the first time ever.

to be fair, according to him you are the first person to be selflessly nice to him. you can't help but wonder what if harry or judy met him first, would you be dead right now? the thought made your hands begin to shake, unable to bring yourself to eat. the tears you tried to hide flooded your cheeks, rubbing your face as a way to self sooth.

lawrence looked uncomfortable and confused. "does it taste that bad?" he asked, not being an emotional or empathetic person in thw slightest.

"no lawrence it's wonderful! you're genuinely so wonderful and lovely! you pay attention to what i say, you make my favorite foods, you rationalize my fears, you protect me! you're so painfully blunt and yet so charismatic while not understanding social cues at all! i adore you lawrence!-" you say through the tears, feeling his warm hand rest on your knee.

"...that's rather sweet! i adore you too, more even!" he clearly still doesn't understand why you're crying. lawrence assumes it's just happy tears and being overwhelmed.

you look up at him, one hand clutching the fabric of your pants, the other holding his hand so tightly that your nails dig into his skin. "then why kill them lawrence? i'm yours i've always been yours and yet you show me your love in such a selfish way! they didn't deserve that! i don't want any of your 'you're just too kindhearted to see that they were only going to bring you pain' bullshit lawrence! stop trying to fucking gaslight me into believing that you destroying lives was for anything other than your self benefit!" you sobbed out, looking him dead in the eyes. you weren't afraid of him.

lawrence could only stammer. this came out of no where for him, in his opinion. he took his spare hand, and gently wipe away your tears. "i am sorry that i upset you so much, i never wanted that."

you leaned into the touch, digging your nails further into his skin to assure he would bleed. it clearly bugged him a bit, but he would deal with it. "you are only sorry to see the consequences of your actions. i wish i hated you. it's what you deserve. i haven't been able to hear anything but für elise in my head since. their screams lawrence, i loved them, their screams haunt me, they were my family. their final words are carved into my very bones. all i wanted was tranquility. you stole my ability to ever rest again."

lawrence froze as you spoke, his heart breaking visibly. "i cannot bring them back, or erase what i've done. however i want to fix what i broke of you, like you did to me. i can care for you. when we are older we can remake our own family weather that's with children or rescuing pets. i just want for you to feel safe again. i love you too much to see you crumble like this." he said, a genuine fondness in his voice.

part of you hated yourself for pushing the dinner out of the way before allowing yourself to collapse in his arms. tears staining his button up as you both held onto each other for dear life.

"lawrence i love you more than you can imagine, despite of what you did. i want to show you that love isn't isolation and servitude. let's take care of each other, until both of our hearts ache from the weight of our love."

Remnant’s Top Ten Anime of 2020

2020 Was certainly a ride wasn’t it? To those that managed to make to make it through in one piece, or any piece, good job. Hopefully 2021 is better to us all. 

Despite the world mostly being on fire, I’d hazard to say that a lot of good shows came out in 2020 (despite a number of them being delayed to either later in the year or this year altogether). I meant to release this list much earlier, but I kept changing it around. 

Anyway, here are the ones I thought were the best. 

Honorable Mentions:

Dorohedoro

Synopsis: The plot centers on a man named Caiman and his search for his real identity after a transformation by a sorcerer left him with a reptile's head and no memory of his former life. 

Along with his friend Nikaido, he violently assaults sorcerers in the Hole, with the aim of taking their heads into his mouth, where a strange face will appear and confirm whether the sorcerer he has bitten onto was the one responsible for his transformation or not.

As the residents of the Hole, the En family and the Cross-Eyes gang, along with many others, collide with one another, the mystery of Caiman's identity begins to unravel, reigniting ancient grudges and threatening to forever change both the Hole and the sorcerers' world.

Thoughts: This is the only Netflix anime I watched this year (I missed out on Great Pretender before the year ended), and I can honestly say I had fun with this one. It’s animation was good, the story was engaging enough, and the characters were all unique (Noi best girl). The one problem I would say with the show is that it can come off as unfocused at times, meandering from one plaot point to another with no real connective tissue. 

Still a fun series though. 

ID: Invaded

Synopsis: The anime follows the investigations of Narihisago, a renowned detective now in prison, who is tasked with diving into the id wells of various serial killers. 

Two years prior to the current events, Narihisago's daughter Muku was brutally murdered by a serial killer, leading Narihisago's wife to commit suicide. These deaths prompted him to hunt down and murder the killer, earning him his prison sentence. He is still depressed and haunted by his wife and daughter's deaths, but also uses this as motivation to take his work seriously and help stop serial killers. 

Thoughts: One of a handful of original series that came out this year. This show gave me heavy Inception/Minority Report vibes from both its premise and presentation. It wobbles under the weight of its own concepts towards the end, but it still a fun ride nonetheless. 

Gleipnir 

Synopsis: The story centers on Shuichi Kagaya, a high school student with an unusual secret. He has the ability to transform into a monster resembling a giant dog mascot costume with a zipper down his back and a large cartoonish smile. After rescuing a strange girl, Claire Aoki, from a warehouse fire, they join each other to search for Claire's older sister, who is assumed to be responsible for the death of their parents.

Thoughts: When the initial rollout for this show began I admit I wasn’t really a fan. I thought it was just going to be a hyper violent, fanservice show. Now in some ways it is that, but if you really look Gleipnir tells a very interesting tale of identity and what it truly means to have a wish granted. The music was pretty good as well, and that’s really something from me as a person who doesn’t pay attention to soundtracks. 

Hope this show gets a season 2, but if not I’ll more than likely start the manga. 

Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina

Synopsis:  Fascinated by the stories of Niké, a witch who traveled around the world, Elaina aspires to take the same course. Her determination of studying books and magic leads to her becoming the youngest apprentice witch to pass the sorcery exam. 

However, when Elaina attempts to receive training in order to become a full-fledged witch, she is rejected due to her extraordinary talents until she finds Fran, the "Stardust Witch," whom accepts her. After earning her title, the "Ashen Witch," Elaina begins her exploration around the world, visiting and facing all kinds of people and places.

Thoughts: As a fan of the Light Novels, I was pretty excited when it was announced it was getting an anime. For the most part it didn’t disappoint. Though it skipped most of the stories in the novels, the show still told a few good stories that made for some amazingly animated tv. 

Talentless Nana

Synposis: In the near future, mysterious monsters known as the "Enemies of Humanity" begin to appear, and with it so do children with supernatural powers called the "Talented". To prepare them for the upcoming battle against these Enemies, all the Talented are sent to a school located on a deserted island, where they have all their daily needs provided for until they graduate and communication with the outside world is forbidden. 

One day, a new student named Nana Hiiragi arrives at the school. Her friendly and cheerful personality lets her quickly make friends with the class. However, with Nana comes a whole litany of mysterious occurrences on the island. 

Thoughts: I can’t say too much about Nana without spoiling it’s first episode twist, but I will say that its a pretty interesting show with a fairly compelling game of cat and mouse being played. 

Now on the the actual list:

10. The Misfit of Demon King Academy 

Synopsis: After 2,000 years of countless wars and strife, the demon king Anos Voldigoad made a deal with the human hero, Kanon, to sacrifice his own life to ensure peace could flourish. Reincarnating 2,000 years later, Anos finds that royal demons now harshly rule over lower class hybrid demons in a society that values Anos's pureblood descendants over the demons who interbred with other species, such as humans and spirits. 

Finding that magic as a whole has begun to decline and his descendants weaker as a result of the peace he created, Anos, now technically a hybrid himself, decides to reclaim his former title of Demon King, but first, he must graduate from the Demon King Academy where he is labeled a total misfit.

Thoughts: Originally I was going to put Nana in this spot, but its lack of a real ending pushed it out of the list. If only slightly. Misft at Demon Academy is just a fun ride from start to finish. There’s always something about shows with ridiculous OP protagonists (Overlord, One Punch Man, etc.) that gets the blood pumping. 

It’s like junk food. Great for the right moment, but not needed all the time. 

9. Ikebukuro West Gate Park

Synopsis:  A charismatic troubleshooter tries to keep the peace between warring factions while protecting his loved ones in Ikebukuro West Gate Park.

Thoughts: I honestly had no idea what to make of this show when I first saw the synopsis, but I gave it a try on a whim. I’m glad I did because this was easily the dark horse of the Fall season. I really liked the mostly self contained story format the series had, and there were a few very good episodes here. Check it out. 

8.  My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

Synopsis: Catarina Claes, the young daughter of a noble family, one day bumps her head and regains memories of her past life as an otaku. It is then that she realizes she has been reborn into the world of the otome game Fortune Lover, reincarnated as the game's villainess who, regardless of what route the player took in the original game, is doomed to be either killed or exiled. 

In order to avoid these routes that lead to doom, Catarina begins taking countermeasures to try and avoid things going the same way as the game. This, however, ends up having unexpected consequences on her relations with the other characters of the game's world.

Thoughts: Normally I’m not a fan of Reverse/Otome harem series, but somehow Bakarina managed to pull me in, to a good result. This show was easily one of the best comedies I watched this year with a good cast and a likable protagonist. 

7.  Deca-Dence 

Synopsis: In the fortress city of Deca-dence, the lowly Tanker girl, Natsume, dreams of becoming a Gear warrior following her father's death during a Gadoll attack. She is assigned to a maintenance team led by Kaburagi whom she discovers is more than he appears. Kaburagi has a secret role in eliminating "bugs", humans who threaten Solid Quake's operations. 

When Kaburagi discovers that Natsume is listed as dead in the company database, he decides to keep her under observation and offers to train her to fight.

Thoughts: Giant monsters and giant robots. What more do you need? Watch it. 

6. A Certain Scientific Railgun T

Synposis: The Daihasei Festival has begun, and that of course means that Tokiwadai Middle School—a prestigious all-girls' middle school—is competing too. Despite the participation of the "Ace of Tokiwadai," Mikoto Misaka, the other students who are participating are still putting their utmost effort into winning, no matter how impossible the feat may seem against her might. However, not all is fun and games. Due to the the festival, Academy City opens to the outside world, and various factions have begun plotting ways to infiltrate the city. Misaka appears to be on their radar, and as the festival proceeds, people lurking from the shadows begin to emerge...

Thoughts: Not really much to say here. It’s the third season of Railgun, but good thing here is that each season of Railgun is better than the last. Truly the best of the To Aru universe. 

5. BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

Synposis: Urged on by her friend, Kaede Honjō begins playing the VRMMORPG NewWorld Online under the name Maple. Not wanting to get hurt, Maple opts to be a shield user with maxed out defense stats, and continues putting every status point she earns in the game into increasing only her defense level. 

As a result, she is left with slow foot speed and no magic, but her high defense allows her to endure most hits without taking any damage. This, along with her basic-level creative thinking, allows for her to make unexpected accomplishments in the game, its quests and events. By doing this, she ends up earning all kinds of equally unexpected skills and becomes one of the strongest players in the game. Thoughts: Bofuri is another OP power fantasy like Demon King Academy, but with the twist of being fused with CGDCT. The cast is extremely likable (especially Maple) and when Silver Link wants to they can make the battles REALLY dynamic. A nice comfortable watch, which was sorely needed in 2020. 

4. Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle

Synposis: The story follows Princess Syalis, a young princess who was kidnapped by the demon king, and her quest to sleep well while imprisoned.

Thoughts: A simple premise for a not so simple story. Sleepy Princess for me was easily the best comedy of the year, with plenty of heart and action thrown in as well. I was wary of the series at first, thinking that the premise wouldnt be entertaining for more than a few episodes, but boy was I wrong. Each episode was funnier than the last and Doga Kobo pulled out all the stops to make it look as gorgeous as possible.  

3. Jujutsu Kaisen

Synopsis: Idly indulging in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, high schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his days at either the clubroom or the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item. Triggering a chain of supernatural occurrences, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses—dreadful beings formed from human malice and negativity—after swallowing the said item, revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the "King of Curses." Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return—the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.

Thoughts: Originally I wasn’t going to put this on the list, because the season doesnt conclude this year, but I decided to make an exception since the show started so strong. Many people were hyping this up as the next big shonen, and they were right. Mappa really went balls to the wall with this show and I’m pretty hype for what happens this cour. 

2. Akudama Drive

Synopsis: The bustling metropolis of Kansai, where cybernetic screens litter the neon landscape, may seem like a technological utopia at first glance. But in the dark alleys around the brightly-lit buildings, an unforgiving criminal underbelly still exists in the form of fugitives known as "Akudama." No stranger to these individuals, Kansai police begin the countdown to the public execution of an infamous Akudama "Cutthroat," guilty of killing 999 people. However, a mysterious message is sent to several elite Akudama, enlisting them to free Cutthroat for a substantial amount of money. An invisible hand seeks to gather these dangerous personas in one place, ensuring that the execution is well underway to becoming a full-blown bloodbath.  

Thoughts: Want to know what it would be like if Quentin Tarantino made an anime? Well here you go. An adrenaline filled rollercoaster ride from start to finish with a crazy cast of characters and even crazier visuals. There’s even a bit of social commentary in there if you squint. 

1. Oregairu Climax

Synopsis: Resolved to become a more independent person, Yukino Yukinoshita decides to smoothen things out with her parents, and the first step toward achieving that goal is to prove herself. As graduation draws closer for the third-year students, Iroha Isshiki—the president of the student council—requests a graduation prom in collaboration with the Volunteer Service Club. Yukino accepts this request of her own volition, hoping to use it as a chance to demonstrate her self-reliance, but what lies ahead of her may prove to be a hard hurdle to cross.

At the same time, a chance for the Volunteer Service Club members to better understand each other presents itself. And thus, Hachiman Hikigaya's hectic and bittersweet high school life begins to draw to a close.

Thoughts: The gif says it all really. I could just leave that there and end this list on a somewhat high note, but I’ll explain it. 

Now objectively, there were better shows than this one (off the top of my head JJK comes to mind) but when you combine all three seasons there is no contest in my mind that Oregairu had one of the most perfect endings to a series I have ever seen. 

It was an ending 7 years in the making. The first season in 2013 was good, the second season two years later was even better, but Climax was Oregairu at is absolute best and that goes beyond the story and characters. A lot of praise also has to go to Studio feel., who took over animation duties from Brain’s Base in season 2. While BB’s animation was much more accurate to the LN, feel’s more realistic designs fit the more mature direction the story was starting to go, giving the anime some of its best moments. 

Watching Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui grow and change from naive teenagers to somewhat understood young adults was amazing and sometimes heartbreaking to watch. Hachiman’s search to find something “genuine”, Yukino’s desire to be independent, and Yui struggling with her feelings of love and friendship all clash and compliment in very interesting ways that makes these three characters even more relatable than they were before. 

Lots of long running series don’t stick to landing, but in my eyes Oregairu stuck it perfectly. That’s why its my favorite anime of 2020.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: KANTO

So this is a character description for the character Kanto that @precious-metal-girl and I created for AUs where he is in a loving and committed relationship with Toph Beifong. Part of this is to help me keep track of all of his features and personality traits, and if others are looking to write about Kanto but aren't sure about how to describe him, feel free to pick and choose characteristics that meet your AU needs! This will (hopefully) be a living document where characteristics are added and changed over time. Background:

Kanto grew up near one of the Fire Nation colonies close to what is Republic City today (part of the reason why his name has FN influence). His father took many different jobs and tried to avoid fighting in the war as long as possible so he could stay with his family, while his mother was a seamstress for the town. Often, he would help his mother sew clothes, and because of that he was pretty crafty and good with his hands. He lost his parents at age 7; old enough to remember them and his childhood, but all the memories are pretty blurry.

What he does remember is that his family was pretty poor, but they always had something to laugh about.

He loved learning new skills with his dad, and had his mom read the same two books they had every single night. And one thing he always remembers is eating together as a family.

His parents died either in an accident for rebelling against a FN rule (maybe the FN wanted to take Kanto away for being an earthbender), or from protecting Kanto in general.

Kanto was always pretty feisty as a boy, pushing people’s buttons and egging people on. It only got worse when his parents died because he pushed buttons out of anger now.

He also had a lot of friends, but after, he didn’t talk to anyone for a while because he ran away. Most of his fighting skills were learned while on the run, he never got any formal training until he went to the metalbending academy (maybe 17 or 18? Toph managed a different part of the academy so she didn’t know him. That or he went to a different academy branch entirely).

One thing he remembers is that he was happiest with his family, so he cherishes the idea of a happy family unit, and he constantly searched for something that made him feel close to that happiness.

Personality:

The first impression people get of Kanto is that he is a no-good, arrogant, bad boy. He acts as if he’s the coolest person in town and always has something sassy to say in response. More than half of the words that come out of Kanto’s mouth are flirtatious and sarcastic, a combination that initially drives Toph Beifong crazy.

But in reality, Kanto is an extremely loyal man who’s rather selfless, putting himself in harm’s way so no one else has to. His initial personality is a front to protect himself so that he doesn’t befriend anyone too much, because he knows what it’s like to love people and lose them. He hated how he felt when he was orphaned and never wanted to feel that way again.

When his facade finally cracks with Toph and she sees the real him, he’s actually… a dork.

He’s got a very goofy personality, he gets excited about little things, and his passions do not necessarily align with his looks and his first impression. When he loves people, he does so with his full heart, but again, he’s hesitant to do so with many… His family are essentially the only ones that see him this way.

Looks:

Kanto is most certainly a hunk. He’s got a similar skin complexion to Toph, thick and wavy (borderline curly) black hair (Toph loves playing with it), broad chest and shoulders (a fit and toned body overall), a mischievous, slightly crooked grin (left corner turns up higher than the right) that makes all the women of RC swoon, a crooked nose from being punched in the face one too many times, and classic earthbender green eyes. He’s also pretty tall, that’s where Lin gets her height from, well over a head taller than Toph And despite being an earthbender, his hands and fingers are actually rather long and nimble. Some popular fanart interpretations of Kanto can be found here and here and here and here and here.

Interests:

Kanto likes flowers, he often brings new ones home (especially when he’s with Toph) so he can teach her about its qualities and so they have a nice and natural floral scent in their home. He’s obsessed with pro bending like Toph, and often will attend matches with her. Astronomy and biology are also interests of his. Toph and Kanto also have a cool rock collection, both are trying to best each other to find the coolest one. Kanto reads science fiction novels to Toph in their downtime and he’ll play the guitar or pipa.

Fears:

Kanto is afraid of bugs, he doesn’t care for large fires that can get out of control, and big animals make him nervous at first contact. When Lin’s in the picture, he freaks out when there are too many sharp corners in one place. He’s always afraid she’s gonna fall and hit her head. Kanto also doesn’t like those rip tides or currents in oceans/large bodies of water.

Some of his deeper level fears include losing his family. He cannot stand the idea of losing Lin or Toph, especially if the reason they are missing or gone is because of him. He’s lost his family before, and he’ll be damned if he loses them again.

Flaws:

A lot of his flaws stem from his stubbornness and confidence. He’s arrogant, overconfident, prideful, and impatient. He knows he’s good at his job and he’s not afraid to talk about his skills and talents, and unless he’s working specifically with Toph, he assumes he’s the best for the job.

He’s flirty, sarcastic, reckless, and a bit of a slob (just his home, he keeps a clean appearance). Kanto’s constantly ragging on coworkers, has comments for days, and it’s rare for him to speak in a serious tone while on the job. Just doesn’t happen.

He’s protective, reckless, a troublemaker, skeptical, and vengeful. When he actually finds love and has a family, he is extremely protective, to the point where if criminals threaten his family, he’s not afraid to take the law into his own hands to eradicate the problem. One of these would be his fatal flaw, maybe vengeful? His vengeful tendency could be from a need to retaliate to protect his family from a threat, and that ultimately may take him down.

His flaws mainly seem to come from his overconfident front that he gives to the world. He doesn’t let too many in, or, he lets people in, but they don’t see the real him. Kanto doesn’t trust people right away, but it’s easy to get along with everyone if you just have this confident and charismatic face on. But his ‘face’ seeped into his actual personality, so there are times when he shouldn’t blurt out the first stupid comment in his head, but he does.

Gaang First Impressions:

Aang: He’s always extremely happy and excited to meet new partners, so he was thrilled to meet Kanto. They definitely don’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, but Aang is great at being friends with everyone despite the differences, so there’s no animosity.

Katara: She’s skeptical at first, because Kanto acts like a douche and has a bad boy persona. Katara just doesn’t want to see Toph get hurt, so she interrogates the man a bit (a lot), but even though the things he says concern her, he’s a gentleman to Toph, very attentive to her needs. So, maybe he’s not so bad… Later on, she knows the bad boy look was all a facade and that Kanto is a sweetheart, and she grows to really like Kanto.

Zuko: He gives Kanto a very cold shoulder at first. He’s very protective of Toph because he thinks of her as a little sister. So, he crosses his arms, glares a bit, and Kanto glares back because that’s what he does at first. But then, they start going on double dates, and Zuko and Kanto turn out to have a lot more in common than they realize. They’re buddies now!

Sokka: Sokka’s attitude really depends on ship preference with him, but in most HC’s, he’s Toph’s best friend, so he would also be distant with Kanto. He wouldn’t like how cocky he is, or that he’s super tall and talented at many things… he’s not a fan. However, Toph is always super happy around Kanto, he makes her laugh, and no one is allowed to insult Toph without an ass whooping from both Kanto and Toph, so, he warms up to the guy. He’s been seen buying Kanto a beer after a long day of work as a truce, and he often goes to Kanto if he needs police paper signed and expedited (Kanto does the same with Sokka, it evens out).

Suki: Suki is pretty chill about it all. She’s pretty perceptive about personalities and whatnot, and she can detect a bit of a bad boy mask. So, she treats the introduction casually and is super cordial with Kanto. They never become best friends or anything, but she was one of his first “allies” in the Gaang, and for that he is forever grateful.

Other Facts:

His mannerisms are that he walks with a slow swagger. Often the slowest of the group, he takes his time whenever he walks places. But don’t let that fool you—he can sprint really fast. He leans back in almost all of his chairs, sometimes he leans too far back. Kanto was a notorious manspreader when he would sit down, but since being with Toph, she put a stop to that instantly. When he’s restless, he bounces his leg a lot, and usually only stops if Toph reminds him (usually a hand to his leg to calm him down). Kanto also runs his hand through his hair a ton to either push it off his face, or just on instinct. He fidgets with his hands, too, Toph does as well. Usually, the two will hold hands or play with each other’s fingers to ‘remedy’ their nervous tick. In extremely stressful situations (like an AU where Lin is kidnapped), Kanto usually throws up and doesn’t sleep at all.

Kanto’s voice is a mix of a rural and city accent, once Republic City becomes prominent. He uses slang in his speech often and mainly uses city words (he picked up a lot of city lingo when interacting with criminals and undercover work back in the day). There are a few words and phrases from his childhood that he uses that scream ‘rural kid’ and that is mainly when the distinction in his accent and speech is picked up. His voice is smooth and deep when he casually talks. When he yells, it becomes a bit gravelly and husky sounding. Oddly enough, when he whispers, the same thing happens.

Kanto smells like the earth or something with a forestry scent (cedar comes to mind). He wears cologne, and the scents he usually goes for are ones that smell like earth, wood, or resin. Kanto likes wearing cologne, but he can’t put too much on, otherwise it bothers Toph’s nose, and he typically checks to see which ones Toph likes, and he’ll purchase that cologne again because he knows she likes the smell. He naturally smells a bit like metal and dirt and a bit of smoke (he was a casual smoker before he had Lin). All these scents are not prominent, but by the end of the day, these are the scents that can usually be detected.

Some of his pet peeves include fake apologies, when people kick or shake the chair he is sitting in, any slightly insulting remark toward Toph, close talkers, people that interrupt frequently, and those that correct his grammar.

Kanto canonically only has one daughter, Lin. In this AU, he’s a loving and committed father who emphasizes putting his family first and protecting them. He doted and hovered over Toph while she was pregnant, cried tears of joy when Lin was born, and is very attentive and caring toward Lin. He’s the one that soothes her when she cries out at night, he’ll get up in the morning with her so Toph can sleep in, and when he comes home from work, he smothers her in kisses and gives her raspberries on the belly (affectionate). Even as a baby, Lin was a Daddy’s girl and Kanto spoiled her as much as possible.

In the relatively canon compliant AU, Kanto dies when Lin is about 6 months old. He left for work, had a run-in with a bloodbender (or an accident on the job), and never returned home. On the day of his death, Kanto planned on proposing to Toph, but never got the chance.

Lin knew about her father growing up, but he wasn’t talked about often because it is a touchy subject for Toph (and for most that knew him well). On her 13th birthday, Lin receives the engagement ring on a necklace, along with a handwritten letter from Kanto.

There are many AUs and headcanons related to where he lives, but those are very fluid and change all the time!

Hi, friends!

I’ve decided to create an offshoot of a specific fruit based legacy challenge. There was some problematic happenings within the simblr community, and the creator has since left, and their legacy challenge was deleted with their blog.

@tangymagnolia​ had the wonderful idea of revamping the challenge so that my legacy, and others’ legacies, and our hard work in developing them, wouldn’t be for naught. Luckily, I had written down the other legacy challenge, so I’ll be able to avoid directly copying generations.

This is not a copy of the original challenge, but an inspiration from it. If you were previously participating in that challenge, please take a gander at this one below the cut.

The challenge won’t be just around fruit, but everything will be edible in some way. I expanded the challenges to what you may find inside a cornucopia, and from what I’ve found, some cornucopias are more diverse than others, so I smashed them all together.

Growing up, you found yourself to be equally liked and disliked by others. You had some close friends, but you also had some enemies. You felt misunderstood by your parents, but you knew they tried. After your 18th birthday, you decided to leave your old life behind and start anew somewhere else. You decided early on that you wanted to work in law, but how will you achieve your goals? Will you start from the bottom as a peon, or will you go to university to bypass it?

Generation 1 Goals:

Your parents were hardworking busybodies, traits that would normally be idolized, but you felt a little neglected. Oh hey Anon, I'm sorry it took me a couple of days to reanimate my corpse and push aside the granite veil of my tomb in order to answer this ask! That's some very impressive decoding on your part, and I'm sure most people watching thought the same thing. But let me tell you my crackpot theory.

Anon, I don't know if you've heard of the movie Space Jam: A New Legacy, starring LeBron James and several of the Looney Tunes (in theaters now!). It's a movie about cartoons playing basketball with one actual man who is a basketball player in real life. Coincidentally, the Looney Tunes brand is owned by TNT, which also owns AEW. I'm told The Elite's entrance that day was a plug for this film. Brand synergy really gets my recently-revived heart pumping, I tell ya what.

But did you wonder what "A New Legacy" in the title refers to? Not many people know this, but all the way back in 1996, there was a film ("talkie") titled simply Space Jam. Yes, "A New Legacy" is subtitled as such because it is in fact a modern retelling of an ancient legend: the timeless hero's journey wherein a man whom plays basket-ball in real life also plays basketball in cartoon outer space with the Looney Tunes.

But wait, you say, LeBron James, considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time, was only about 11 when Space Jam was first released into the world. He wasn't yet the greatest basketball player of all time. So who could possibly pre-fill King James's Air Jordans and hold court with the legendary (ageless!) Bugs Bunny?

The answer has been lost to antiquity, and we may never know for sure. But I have arisen this day, and used all the strength in these frail bones to set the record straight—I remember, for I was there.

The Elite's shirts the other day were a reference to the jerseys of the Space Jam heroes—not the ones in theaters now, but the Tune Squad of ur-Space Jam. A team led by one Michael Jordan. In those days, people said this Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time. They even named shoes after him, though the name of them escapes me as my spirit is pulled back to Oblivion.

No one remembers who he was or what he looked like, but one young boy was inspired by him all those years ago, and that boy vowed to one day become the Michael Jordan of basketball. He vowed he would make it to the NBA someday, and if he did, he would wear the same number jersey that his hero so famously wore for most of his career.

That boy was LeBron James, and that number was 23.

Yes, the charismatic frontmen of both Space Jam titles wore the number 23. (LeBron has since switched to 6, because he believes 23 is so iconic that it should only be associated with the shoe guy I mentioned before, whatshisname.) So that's my theory.

okay I am answering this one First but there are some other asks I technically got first so I’m going to exclude a few for the sake of answering all of them! I hope that’s okay. Below the cut for length and some quasi-NSFW discussion.

PRE-RELATIONSHIP:

1. How did they first meet?

this is actually the plot of one of my fics! Finno goes to a party with his parents, wanders off to get drunk and enjoy the free food, and winds up getting very drunk and then seeing Maitimo and assuming he’s a Maia because of how hot he is. he is in fact so very drunk that he straight up forgets that “Curufinwë” and “Fëanáro” are the same person and doesn’t understand why Maitimo is like “what the fuck why are you talking to me oh shit you’re hot”. (Maitimo ditches his date to the party to climb a tree, drink wine, and deal with the fact that he’s suddenly interested in a boy.)

5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

Maitimo tried so fucking hard to resist his feelings. He basically tried to be like. Gay But By Telperion’s Light Only. he’d write poetry and burn it, he’d stare into the stars and the silver light and be Dreamy and Distant. (Finno leapt into having feelings with his whole self and everyone knew he was pining after someone. He kept trying to play it off as nothing serious, but everyone around him knew. Everyone.)

7. What would their lives be like if they had never met?

Maitimo would be married to the daughter of one of Fëanáro’s first and most loyal allies in the Tirion court. Her name was Cirissë, she was chosen for him by Fëanáro (with the clear caveat of “if you’d rather marry someone else please give me the name and I’ll arrange it”) and the expectation was that they’d have at least one child named Cantëafinwë. As the eldest of his House and since he didn’t have any great works or passions of his own, his “job” was to carry on Míriel Þerindë’s legacy. If he had objected to this or found something else to do with his life, Fëanáro would have given way, but Maitimo prior to meeting Findekáno was okay with having an arranged marriage. This wasn’t a decision made in spite of his feelings - he’d never said he wasn’t all right with it.

Findekáno would probably be drifting through life without really any sense of purpose - I’m going to assume that history goes very differently if they don’t meet, because not meeting implies that even the Darkening doesn’t quite go as planned - and I think he’d have settled for the single life, floating from party to party and social event to social event without ever really being rooted in something.

GENERAL:

1. Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

Findekáno was the one who insisted they become proper friends and start spending time together, and who introduced Maitimo to the joys of fucking around in the meadows outside Tirion on their free days. He was bold, and intense, and bright, and constantly smiling. But it was Maitimo who confessed his feelings. They went out one day - it was Finno’s begetting day, and Maitimo had gotten him a falcon (they took up falconry as an excuse to be out and about and alone for days, but they’d been using Finwë’s mews and Finwë’s birds) and they were with their horses and their birds, and Maitimo very shyly admitted that what he felt was more than friendship.

Finno kissed him, and he almost fell out of his saddle and off his mare.

5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?

Their height difference is a little ridiculous. Maitimo is eight and a half feet tall, which is Very Tall by elvish standards. Finno is seven feet tall, which is on the taller side of “average” - his mother Anairë is taller than he is, and Artanís is like 7′9″. He comes up to about his husband’s sternum. Maitimo isn’t really built, though? He’s actually quite delicate and slender when you look at him on his own, but compared to quite a lot of other elves he’s buff as hell just by virtue of needing to be muscular to move all those bones around. Their age difference is actually something that’s kind of hard to calculate but I’ve worked it out - Maitimo is 90 solar years older than Finno, he was about the human equivalent of eighteen when his husband was born. They met for the first time when Maitimo was 190 solar years old and Finno was 100 solar years old - they were both adults, in the same stage of life.

7. Who takes the lead in social situations?

It depends on the social situation tbh! Findekáno tends to take the lead in most things that involve being a bright and shiny polite happy public figure, because he’s charismatic and intuitive and good at that kind of thing, but Maitimo will lead if it’s one of his few areas of expertise or if his husband is floundering. He does have a flair for the dramatic and it’s a very natural thing for him.

9. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?

They both do, because they’re fortunate enough to have a telepathic bond that lets them communicate silently in a room full of other people. It made for some fascinating council meetings the few times they wound up sharing a space in that way.

3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?

Elves don’t really have cheesy pick-up lines, but they’ve both fallen victim to sappy poetry. Maitimo probably holds the record there for sheer number of dumb things he’s said solely for the purposes of getting Finno’s attention, though. There are. A Lot of those.

5. Who initiates kisses?

Maitimo. Always, constantly. His primary method of affection and of emotional expression is “Kiss Husband” and he does it all the time.

7. What are their favorite things to do together?

I’m excluding sex from this because the answer to that question is “sex”, honestly. They like cooking (Maitimo cooks and Finno watches him), and going riding, and one time Maitimo climbed the side of a cliff and Finno went along with it solely to stare at his ass. Finno is terrible at archery and at the harp but he’ll do both of those things because they make his husband happy. They like reading, and discussing what they’ve read, and if they’d had the chance they would have enjoyed the theater.

9. Who’s more protective?

see this is sort of a weird question because like

Maitimo is Obviously Protective. He glowers, and he glowers protectively, and he does things like plant spies in Nolofinwë’s household so he can keep an eye on his husband’s movements. He considers himself Findekáno’s guard, and he’s very very paranoid so he’s very very good at guarding. (The one time he saves Findekáno from orcs and from Sauron he has several mental breakdowns all at once.) Maitimo is the obvious answer here.

But Finno will cross a room in half a second and vault over like sixteen tables to smack you with his riding glove and demand you duel him if he’s all the way on the other side of the hall and thinks he heard you considering insulting Maitimo.

It goes both ways tbh.

11. What are some songs that apply to their relationship, in-universe or otherwise?

The in-universe songs that apply to their relationship are basically all written about them, lol. I tend to headcanon that the song Findekáno sang is preserved through the ages to some extent and its ultimate form is the song that Sam sings in the tower of Cirith Ungol? So take that as you will.

Out of universe... well, I have a shitton of playlists, but I’ll leave you with the song that inspired my Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang fic, “Last Train Home” by Ryan Star.

13. Who remembers the little things?

It depends on the little things. Maitimo remembers every detail of every military operation he ever devised, but Findekáno remembers what day of the week it is.

DOMESTIC LIFE:

3. How many kids do they have, if any? What are they like?

Gil-galad would have been their kid in a happier world. He’s the biological son of Lalwendë Finwiel and Gildor Inglorion of the House of Finrod, sent to Barad Eithel when his mother and father were missing-presumed-dead after the Dagor Bragollach, and Findekáno adopted him as his ward and heir but didn’t keep him in Hithlum due to the danger.

(They do, however, have three additional children that they don’t find out about until Valinor, because Sauron is a mad scientist and he had unrestricted access to Maitimo for sixty years, and because Findekáno bled all over the Thangorodrim cliff-face when he slammed face-first into it. Those children are Autamar Autahala, whom I’ve mentioned before (he’s their eldest and the only one who’s descended from both of them), and Alya and Ailinwë, twins who are descended solely from Maitimo. Their three kids show up at their house one day, the same ages as they were when they all died, and that’s a fun time for everyone.)

Gil-galad is brave and fair and just and all that good shit you need to be a king. Autamar is kind of terrifying because growing up in Angband and being groomed to be a puppet ruler will do that to you, but he’s very smart and very dry-witted. Alya and Ailinwë died when they were quite young, but they’re very bright, and Alya is as fond of horses as Maitimo is. She also likes knives.

5. Who’s the stricter parent?

Maitimo. He’s got more experience parenting, as opposed to Finno who died and then suddenly found out that his ward had claimed him as a father - Maitimo basically raised his four youngest siblings, and Elrond and Elros, and he’s very good at being the strict dad. It’s the one thing he’s actually strict about outside his military work. But he’s actually a giant marshmallow underneath his stern exterior and he really wants to be a good father.

7. Who kills the bugs in the house?

This is a non-answer but they don’t kill bugs as a rule they’ll either let them outside or allow predator bugs to live in their spaces - lots of spider neighbors who pay rent by eating gnats. But as a rule Maitimo will do the gross or unseemly things just because he wants them done. Finno is a bit more of an obvious coward when it comes to those things.

9. Who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?

Maitimo doesn’t sleep as often as Findekáno does, but Findekáno can usually entice him into coming back to bed.

11. Who likes to dance?

Maitimo is the one who really truly loves partnered dancing. He leads. Findekáno can and will dance alone, but it’s only after he marries that he truly becomes enchanted by the high romance of a good querië.
