I hate that the braindead takes on Firefly from people who can't read are spreading to the people who do actually pay attention to her character, cause now a bunch of people who loved her before are saying she's nothing but waifu bait and has never been anything else.
Her relationship with the Trailblazer is only a small part of her character, she has way more going on with her than just that. 'Take away Sam and then she's just a generic waifu'. Yeah no shit, if you take away a characters whole story there's nothing left there, funny how that works.
Why are people acting like TB is the only thing her character has going for it, when she's got the whole Glamoth lore and Stellaron Hunters and her own personal goals and motives that have nothing to do with TB.
You guys are the ones reducing her down to just a waifu, not the game.

esteban ocon leaving alpine at the end of the season signifies the end of an era to me.
esteban ocon, who came from a fairly humble background and had a long, requisitely earned relationship with the team. esteban ocon, who offered his kart to pierre gasly because he didn't have his own.
pierre gasly, who went from esteban ocon's best friend to on-track rival. pierre gasly, who later cited irrevocable differences between them when they both went on to become f1 drivers, likely just as they had dreamed together as children.
best friends, who after many years in between begrudgingly became teammates. teammates, both french, racing for a french team. teammates, but unequal in most ways that matter, one liked more than the other. teammates who once maybe dreamed of where they are now, wanting nothing to do with that very reality. teammates constantly butting heads, trying to one-up each other.
and it ultimately dissipates to an anti-climatic end - both served with sub-par cars, one's departure announced right after another on-track incident, reduced to a matter of one outlasting the other.
i would say it almost feels like a story, a movie, and these things remind me that it is exactly this that films are based on, what stories are written of.
