I am ashamed to say I was dreading this movie, I had been putting it off for a long time despite downloading it a long time ago & knowing in my head that I was going to watch it. I had seen images of this film on tumblr and found them v evocative, but I was sure the movie was going to be a fucking drag. I'm so glad to say I was wrong!
Saved by the sound design, honestly! I felt completely engaged the whole film from the combination of music and sound textures that happened while the images were on screen. This movie is really wonderful, a piece of visual poetry in its own right, and beyond that just a really engaging and beautiful film centered around the life of a poet. If you like performance, catholicism or are interested in folk music this would be worthwhile to add to your watch list. :)
