Listening to Supergirl Radio about a run of comics where Supergirl's true identity is Linda Danvers, a soap opera actress.

I don't usually associate Kara with acting/performing for some reason, but now I'm like.... okay.

Kara's an actress and meets a pretty girl on the wardrobe team named Lena Walsh. Lena Walsh eventually becomes an actor on the show in her own right, and is recognized by Lex, who reaches out and tries to bring her into the Luthor fold.

But mostly its about Kara and Lena becoming gay icons together and their journey into a relationship with one another informs the arcs their characters take on screen, earning the show a following of rabid gay viewers hungry for representation.

SPN 4x16 On The Head Of A Pin has so many dark fucked-up parental things going on and I love it.

The scenes with Dean and Alastair are so claustrophobic and intimate, with Alastair paternalistic towards Dean in the darkest way. The comments like ‘daddy’s little girl’ and ‘all the poking and prodding’ and talking about John are just the most deliciously screwed-up stuff. Then cut to Sam with Ruby in a fucked up vampiric mothering parody as he drinks blood from her wrist, which feels both Oedipal and like it calls back to Azazel’s line about demon blood being better than mother’s milk. You can also draw a parallel from that to Mary’s original deal to allow Azazel into Sam’s nursery and feed him blood to save John, and Sam dealing with a demon and drinking blood to save Dean.

On top of that we get the angels and their god-daddy issues.

It’s the cycle of intergenerational trauma in full in just one episode. God, I love it so much.

Did Ben Edlund ever write a bad episode? And yes, the one with the fairies has its moments.

I was talking to my partner this morning about how much I am looking forward to spring. I always wish for cooler weather in the fall and winter, but by the time the beginning of the year rolls around, I am ready for warmth. I told him I need to warm my bones and joints.

I see a lot of fics and ideas of the bishops, especially Shamura, adopting the lamb as a new bishop to avoid the prophecy and I feel like not enough people go far enough with how fucked that actually is.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun idea, a tragic one considering it basically them filling a hole in their fucked up hearts/family unit, but what’s even better is the bishops only going along with it cause Shamura is obviously still coping with Narinder being banished and their already fragile psyche.

They know the lamb is more so only a messiah of the red crown and not a replacement and the lamb lacks the capabilities of a true god but Shamura is finally doing something other than waxing poetically about loss or their inevitable deaths. It’s an upgrade but it’s only a matter of time until Shamura calls the lamb “Narinder” and the rest of the bishops decide this is still kinda worse.

And it’s not like the lambs end goal still isn’t to kill them and avenge its race…
