Why haven’t you met the one: „Just chill for a minute, ok?” Lol. Maybe you’re too quick to judge people, you try to rationalize everything instead of listening to your gut. Definitely an overthinker. You feel the pressure to change your life or whatever (looks, personality) every damn week and it’s tiring. I’m hearing „take a deep breath, look around you - you’re safe”. You probably keep some distance between yourself and the world around you and the change of perspective might do some good to you, you will see.

What should you do to attract your partner: Omg, this message is really damn strong - connect to your inner child! For some reason your inner child wants to communicate with you, they have some important message for you. Also, you might feel better if you would openly embrace your sexuality, your passion - in your mind and soul as well as your body. Don’t be afraid to express yourself and your feelings through your body.

The first meeting: Very romantic scenery, maybe evening, night time - it will feel like a proper date (for some it might be on the roof of a tall building or sth like that). Even if your first meeting will be purely accidental or happen to be in a very crowded place, the moment when you notice each other, will make you both feel like it’s just the two of you in the world at the moment. It’s giving me the Darcy and Lizzy moment when they danced and the whole world disappeared for them, gosh, that’s sooo beautiful.

This date, I feel, will take place after a really hard day at work or after a tiring week - perfect distraction from everyday problems. You might be surprised how good it felt to just talk with this person, how smoothly and charming the meeting and conversation went. You will be bewitched and you as well will be casting a damn spell on them. I’m seeing dark dresses and dark lipstick. Quite an elegant place. Expensive alcohol. Butterflies in the stomach while putting-on a straight face. But surprisingly open and sincere conversation. You may dance around each other (or literally dance!), and flirt and all, but the connection will be serious af.

Etceteras: Spider and the full moon. For some of you, the decision about starting a relationship will be at odds with your rational mind, but the answer in your heart will be one big fat „YES”. I’m also seeing that one of you might debate with themself about whether to start something serious, but then see the picture of the other person and any doubt immediately fades away. „It’s you”. After this everything is developing quite rapidly between you. You know each other so well! In this relationship: seduction and courtship will last. ALSO: this person might come across as rather sophisticated and official but they might be really kinky in bed. Why haven’t you met the one: 8 You party a lot lol. You also know how to take care of yourself, you don't need others for that. You have a lot of self-assurance and I love that for you. However, coz you prefer to focus on the part of your life which is profitable, stable and gives you joy - you can’t really see whenever you lack something. Maybe it’s just this quite timid voice in your head that tells you that you want more. You keep your circle of friends tight, you do not expand it. You may come across as fearless, but change is always scary af. And your potential to create is enormous.

What should you do to attract your partner: Share your sun. You can make the first move or just tell yourself mentally that you’re ready for something new. The first meeting: Winter or spring solstice. You will meet „the one” when some cycle in your life comes to the end and something new will start to grow. Of course it will be scary, even though the change will bring you a lot of abundance and strength. There may be some trip or vacation journey. Incipit: My stupid fucking game doesn't work. These two stupid functions have like 450 lines together and the whole thing is like half a dozen for() loops all nested into each other nested into a while() loop. I tested it thoroughly. I thought i was done with it and put a nice bow and wrapping on it and sent it in the mail. Now i find that the recipient was always destined to be and that this gift is not a beautiful craft of art, but an abyss which beckons for my gaze just as it also beckons to gaze back. And i will gaze. But not today. Today is a day for coping. Today i will chain lose seven games of League of Legends, but sandwiched between those i will attempt a brand new coping method, #homestuck OC improv writing. Let's goooooooo.

3rd Post: Gemoloron, The Sign of the Potent. No, i'm not going to use That meaning of the word… i hope?

Constellation: Oh man, what could this one be? Maybe this bit represents eyes, but then what has ma— Biblically accurate angels. C'mon, I know it's a biblically accurate angel, you know it's a biblically accurate angel, even the homestuck redditors knew it was a biblically accurate angel. This brings up at least one question, is the Troll Bible a thing? The answer to that question is basically irrelevant, so i won't ponder it any further. I actually already know where i want to go for those first two paragraphs because i thought of it while writing the intro. You know what else has many eyes? That's right, Flies, and maybe dragonflies, and maybe basically half of all other bugs, but that includes Flies. A Fly's two eyes are actually compound eyes which contain thousands of individual lenses inside. There's probably a connection to make with Belzebub who's sometimes also an angel, but i don't really wanna. Point is, Rage being the aspect of Chaos and Goldies being the caste for duality makes them a match made in heaven (heh). The nature of this sign is all about contradiction, being both Gracious Holy Angel and Gross Disgusting Fly. This is a design i want to communicate in both the constellation and the lusus while emphasizing the eyes, so here's what i'm thinking about (see picture below) (i fucking hate insects, why did i pick this, i don't want to be editing a picture of one for many minutes) (Holy fuck, the GIMP perspective tool is awesome. Why have i never used that before??). Ok, so, facts first, this image is awful. It also kind of fucks (heh). A fly with human eyes, yet another mystical symbol. I really thought mystical symbol constellations weren't going to be a dime a dozen back when i was on the first post, yet here we are. As stated before it symbolizes Contradiction and Contrasts, but primarily between the Ugly and the Beautiful.

Lusus: Aight, i actually image edited the lusus too this time around. Gods, brace yourself because this one is also genuinely awful, no "it fucks" involved. (see picture below). This time instead of being a fly with angel (human) eyes it's an angel with Fly eyes. It reverses, because contradictions, contrasts. This guy is actually stupid as fuck, like fly-level intelligence. When the character is introduce we quickly notice that all their window are broken. Then, a bit later we hear a sound of broken glass from out of frame and the next panel pans out with this jackass with his head through a window trying to crawl out of it. Right next to him is a wide open door. He's at no risk of harming himself on the sharp glass tho, he's actually ~3m tall with physical strength enough to rival the Spidermom, but he's so stupid he can't use a weapon or even punch or kick. The only way he ever attacks is by flying at extreme speed and crashing his body into shit. Our character can't invite anyone to their home because this dude is too stupid to understand the concept of a "friend" and will just ram any and all that gets close to the house, killing it instantly. He's not vicious or anything, tho. When something aproaches he'll stand visibly and menacingly in the sky, meaning he mostly only ever murders wild animals too dumb to understand that warning. Finally, the only thing it ever does other than murder shit in the stupidest way possible and break windows trying to get in and out of the house is clean. Because flies do that. Any sign of dirt, dust or glass shard he sees gets broomed right out of the house. Because apparently he's smart enough to use his limbs for that. Ok dude.

Physicality: You might have noticed this lusus has a single clipped wing which i haven't mentioned. This is because i just added it, right now, after the lusus paragraph is done. Why? To establish numerology, of course. I have a last name to start this character with. Beluth. The name is a deformation of Belzebuth, another name of Beelzebub, but also alludes to the last symbolic element of the character which i will get to shortly. Beluth is, like many gold bloods, a powerful psion. Unlike most goldbloods, Beluth's powers are particularly stunted in the range department, allowing her to levitate objects no further than her arms' reach, which are fortunately rather long. She uses this power effectively through their kind abstratus, 5xRevlvrkind, by levitating each revolver simultaneously. Each revolver having, of course, 5 chambers per cylinder. For physical appearance, the eyes are pretty important so i'll start with that. Remember Die from The Felt? Remember that guy? Remember how he always has that look as if you just caught him doing something unspeakable at 3am. Essentially, that's Beluth's resting face, but she's self-conscious about it so she's grown out long bangs that covers her face. Beluth is a great fan of alternian "Western" movies (troll cowboy movies) and so dresses herself in a cowboy jacket, a large cowboy hat further obscuring her face and 6 revolver holsters stacked on top of each other. The middle left holster is always empty. Her body shape is very lanky, tall and thin, which gives her an intimidating/badass look when her face is covered and inversely furthers the crazed kinda bozo look when it's unveiled.

Personality: Finally to tie it all together. Rage is the aspect of Truth, Chaos and the Incomprehensible. The human-eyed fly is a constellation that symbolizes the contrast between the ugly and the beautiful. Gemolorn is titled the Sign of the Potent. That third element i feel isn't as important to be smoothly integrated so i'm writing it off as done from the generally high power level of the character and her lusus. The second is integrated from the previous paragraph, though subverted. "Ugly" has been replaced by "Gaunt, kinda bizarro look", Beluth's inner appearance, and "Beautiful" by "Cool badass cowboy look", the outer appearance which she has crafted for herself. The obvious arc from here is a "learn to let down the mask and accept yourself for who you are" narrative, but imo that fucking sucks right now. This style is something Beluth has made for herself, something that reflects her hobby and something that's partly fed from her inner appearance itself. So rather, as the story progresses, Beluth progressively goes from a fangirl simply mimicking cowboys to actually becoming one. she loses the hat, the jacket, even the bangs, yet she's still out there ridin' through the wasteland catchin' outlaws. "Quickest barrels this side o' the empire. She be shootin' so fast, even 'er shadow's surprised", says an old grizzled ranger drinking his whisky from the corner of a saloon. Get it? The crazed look itself becomes part of her mythos. You are the cowboy Beluth. it's you. I think that's pretty good over all. Her gunslinging style comprises particularly bouncy bullets that bounce all over creating an incomprehensible/chaotic barrage. It think that, plus everything before which kind of relates to finding an inner deeper Truth is enough to relate her to her aspect.

Excipit: I liked this character a lot. I hated the making of this post a lot. i meant for this series to be quick writing exercises for when i have a few hours to kill, but it turned out to be day-long endeavors, partly because of my chronic inefficiency at basically everything. i actually wrote the first and second half of it with a 1 and a half week gap between the two. Plus now i have to see it through because i thought of a decent way to recycle the signs and the ideas for the constellations for one of my games. Also, originally i meant for most of these characters to be ungendered because gender isn't usually relevant to the kind of characters i write. But that makes it marginally more of a pain to write so i'll just use whatever pronouns i hc them as. also i didn't use that meaning of the word. Congrats present me from past me.

Sasha and Marcy

Pt. 1

Darcy stood on the balcony overlooking the landscape of Amphibia. The Core believed that all they saw belonged to them, was rightfully theirs. The hivemind was an ancient entity, The Core lived for thousands of years, trapped physically in a basement for a thousand years. It knew how to wait. Waiting was its game. But recently, previously The Core, now Darcy, had gotten far more impatient. Something went wrong during the transference progress. Something had changed. Whatever they were, they were The Core no more. For thousands of years they were a collection of Amphibia’s greatest minds; scientists, philosophers, engineers, technicians, literary scholars, theorists, and royalty. All with two goals; survive, and carry on. To encase Amphibia’s totality; it’s culture, it’s way of life, in amber. To keep Amphibia on track, and never let it change shape into something inferior.

…But now, in stead of a multitude of voices coming together as one, there was now one voice coming apart as two. The Core underestimated the human girl known as Marcy Wu. Somehow the hierarchy in their mind had changed. They speculated that it was due to the girl being in contact with the stone, the cosmic residue perhaps somehow in conjunction with The Core’s uploading technology created a new lifeform. That, of course, being: Darcy. A singular voice. Both The Core and Marcy Wu, and yet neither at the same time. A strange duality played out in their mind, the love of adventure and a myriad of silly quirks set alongside a desire to control and annihilate. It coalesced into quite an interesting person.

“My lord.” Darcy knew that booming voice. That idiot Andrias was back. Darcy rolled their many eyes as they became tired just off of Andrias’ presence.

“What do you want, Andrias?” They asked annoyed.

“Simply to see how you have been doing, my liege. You mentioned the transfer had left you confused.” The giant salamander remarked, “Also, I baked cupcakes. So, how are you feeling?”

“…New.”

“Ooooookay.” Andrias awkwardly answered not quite sure what to make of it.

“I’m guessing the cupcake tray is an offering.”

“Hmm?” A bead of sweat rolled down Andrias’ temple.

“An apology. For failing once again to eradicate those infernal rebels.” Darcy had not yet turned to face the king.

“Heh, f- failed? No, no, no, the bots are still out in the field searching.” Andrias laughed it off.

Now Darcy turned to face him, “I have eyes everywhere, boy. I see all. I know several of our scouting detachments have been ambushed and destroyed, and that you have been trying to sweep it under the rug.”

“Whaaaaat?”

“This Resistance is too much for you to handle, apparently.” Darcy remarked with gritted teeth.

“No, my lo-“

“Silence yourself! You have failed on almost all fronts! So many loose ends, so little time. Your cloakbot has failed to eradicate Blue of The Heart! You have failed to apprehend and execute that traitor Grime, and Pink of Strength! You can’t even control your own servant staff! The housekeeper Olivia and that worm-brained General attempted a coup on you and to take my body- I mean my vessel away! Not to mention the transfer you oversaw has altered me! I hear no voice expect for my own, I am me, I am one. It is so… strange.”

“My lord, I assure you all is under control; My sources tell me that Anne Boonchuy has been incapable of rallying any sort of Earth defences, she can barely control her powers, they leave them drained and exhausted. And she has no way of returning here. Sasha Waybright is powerless, her numbers are microscopic compared to the daily output of frobots we produce; the ground under her feet is shrinking. As for the coup; Lady Olivia and General Yunan are imprisoned and are awaiting swift public execution, and the newt military forces which aided them will be disposed of, they are useless to us now that we have the robot factories online. And while you inhabit the body of Marcy Wu the prophecy will not come to pass. We have them at Flip-Mate.” Andrias assured Darcy. “…Speaking of which… is… is Marcy in there?”

“Yes. There is her and then there is me. I have caged her in a fantasy far in the back of my mind…” Darcy stopped for a moment, and began to ponder on something. An idea had just leapt into their head. They fell silent. They ran all the different possibilities through simulations in their head.

“And… is my father there?”

“…Huh? Oh, I don’t- I don’t k- No. He and the others are gone. They are me now. I am Darcy.”

“…I… see.”

“…You know what Andrias? You might be onto something. This body may be a blessing in disguise. It provides us with certain advantages that I have not considered before. This Marcy might be of use to us.”

“How so, your excellency?”

“The problem is: We can’t find Pink, she’s small, hidden. We can’t just barge in and annihilate her. So, if we can’t come to her, let her come to us. We have something she wants after all.” Darcy chuckled to herself, excited by the scheme they put into motion, “Say, ‘Drias, you haven’t executed Olivia and Yoohoo yet, have you?”

“No, sir.”

“Excellent. Let them escape, make it look convincing.”

“Yes, my lord.” The king turned to leave the monitor room.

“Andrias.”

“Yes?”

“Leave the cupcake tray on your way out.”

[duality] and art (sorta) imitates life ^^

Some time before drawing

For line/texture purposes, I did end up straying away from drawing the ginataang mais (corn/rice dessert porridge) and ended up just drawing corn rice. Oops.

I added more coolness to the rice shading and warmth (red) to the beef stew side.

The combination of beef stew and ginataang mais was like finding a game hack/easter egg. I enjoyed the challenge/satisfaction of building the bowl without mixing the two 'chunky soups.' There was surprisingly little mixing of these two overtime, but even the brief bits that did mix had lovely synergy. The corn definitely helped bridge the two flavors.

And it was fun to alternate between salty and sweet, heh!

hahah yeap everyday unfortunately. on good days though it only takes about an hour 20 or an hour & a half so i cross my fingers & hope for the best each time lol 😄. it ends in August which seems long to me but i'm hoping these months will pass by in a flash 😆. other than the travel time, the work culture & environment is not so bad so i guess that's a plus, but, you never really know what life has in store for you ╮(︶︿︶)╭

i'm in mech engineering! it does include math but if im being honest not much of it is being used rn 😬🫣

ahhh i took japanese lessons too! didn't get to finish it bc the classes were always full (╥_╥) i rmb getting excited every lesson bc it was a chance for me to show off my verymediocreveryelementarylearntfromanime pronounciation skills to my sensei ＼(＾▽＾)／ (yeah it nvr went well but she'll always say i did a great job👍😭). i hope you have fun learning the language as much as i did and maybe if i find the courage to pick up my notes again we'll be able to talk in 日本語 . . .(・・ ) ?. jokes aside, what's your favourite part about learning this language so far?

i've heard sooo many people talking about genshin lately. i'm not a big fan of rpgs (actually very bad at them) so i tend to observe from the side. what do you like the most about the game? and ofc i have to ask this, who's your favourite character?

as for me, i'm currently in love with yakuza 0! its my first of the series and i'm enjoying it to the fullest. i've been playing on the weekends to release some stress & it's the perfect antidote for me. i mean come on, it even has a karaoke and disco dancing minigame!

I was in such nostalgic mood caused by running into some old OCs of mine. And I also found some forgotten sketches I drew back in 2015 that are actually quite good so have them with some redraws.

They are Rhoe (the one with Fennekin) and Christine (the one with Espurr; never settled on a name for her, Christine was a temporary one) from the X nuzlocke that never reached the phase where I actually started drawing the comic, and Shami with Zoey the Shellos from the Sixfold League (a Pokemon OC tournament from 2012). 

I kinda wanted to draw Nerinea from the Platinum Nuzlocke with the same fate (this one was the most developed story I ever created and was even half-way scripted and all and then I adapted it to become the X nuzlocke), and Althea (from Monsters of Hoenn Emerald Nuzlocke, the one that started all that).

Ahaha, I've been wanting to do a big piece for it for months but with zines and other commitments going on I kept putting it off. Happy to show it finally done! I had a ton of fun with the composition, (much like I did with the game heh), playing on symbolism, character ties and the duality of the two worlds the game presents! I always love doing these for indie works because it's fun to show the style within my own style too. The design is fully reversible, which I've only really done in the trial pieces before, tho I hinted at it once or twice in similar game fanart. Hope you guys like iiiiit!

I’m not the little bro because I am. No I’m not (heart emoji).” Ventus turns around slightly with a shadow over his eyes and a mocking smile. He says, “Heh heh... I know. But being your elder by 5 seconds gives me χbox privileges.” Vanitas stares silently, dumbfounded, then summons his Keyblade with glinting eyes. Next to him is text that reads “We’ll Be Right Back.”

Next doodle. Vanitas sits in his bed holding a Hareraiser, while a Monotrucker sits on his nightstand. *Wrote all this some time last month so I might be off- really really off- also full disclosure I too am a Narumitsu shipper- this is just me giving myself a bad time doing the impossible and having fun XD

-I am going to fail sooner or later. Looking at you, Bridge to the Turnabout.

FIRST GAME >Turnabout Samurai -Yep. We're jumping right in with 'unnecessary feelings'. I'm going to be put on a stake for this. -This is going to become the main argument with any and all homoerotic subtext present in the first game- that it was unintentional. They didn't actively start making it gay until the second game, and even before then the producer for the games had to warn the development team not to try and insert these themes for fear of getting it wrong and lose the fanbase they'd accidentally caught the eye of. I can still create arguments for why this specific, hilariously meme-able line could be read romantically of course- but as far as the game development team at the time was concerned this interaction was never meant to be read as romantic. -Unease and uncertainty are... very valid feelings for Edgeworth to feel at this very moment and as much as I'd like to joke that he was feeling uncertain about his sexuality after seeing his childhood friend as an adult, this line was really just likely meant to lead up to the conclusion of Turnabout Goodbyes and Edgeworth's character arc for this game. His perfect win streak had just been shattered in a case prior. In this case, he was meant to persecute the lead actor of his favorite show- and in some ways his helping the defense can be taken as his biases getting the better of him. His sense of justice and his entire worldview is about to be overhauled, and I can see how he would regard this budding doubt in himself as an unnecessary (heh) distraction from what he believes is his true purpose in life.

>Turnabout Goodbyes -Edgeworth wanting to keep him away from DL-6 has its own section mostly because of how stubborn he becomes when it comes to Phoenix's insistence in particular. It's clear that this stubbornness is a front, I will concede with that- but there are merits to his initial reluctance in accepting Phoenix's defense. It's evident that Phoenix himself has grown over the course of the game so far, but in both of the times that he faced off against Edgeworth in court, his victories were... a tad bit contrived. For instance in Turnabout Sisters, Phoenix really only wins because Mia was being channeled and blackmailed White as he was about to leave the stand. Turnabout Samurai is a little better- but had him rely on quite a lot of coincidences (proven later to be substantiated) that surfaced during the trial. This is nothing to say of the deeper reason Edgeworth has over dissuading Phoenix from taking his case ("You in particular I cannot ask to do this.")- where I can make an argument for his pride and/or concern over Phoenix's career as an attorney. The stakes are relatively high here as well- if Phoenix fails, Edgeworth is incarcerated, Manfred von Karma goes free, DL-6 goes cold once again with no hope of getting re-opened, and everything that Phoenix has been working towards as an attorney would have been in vain. DL-6 is a case that has ruined many lives- it'd make sense if Edgeworth himself felt as though it would be a waste of time and effort to take this case because of how convinced he was of murdering his own father prior to Gourd Lake. He'd grown up for the past 15 years with a nightmare and a death sentence over his head- I wouldn't be surprised if he simply gave up and accepted that he was going to die at the hands of his prosecuting mentor. Even if he were acquitted for the murder of Robert Hammond, his perceived involvement in DL-6 would have thrown a wrench in his freedom- any lesser attorney would have given up on that. And this is unloaded BEFORE Phoenix tells him about the true reason as to why he became an attorney. -Phoenix's insistence to defend Edgeworth in this case can easily just be read as platonic- his complete, unfettered faith in Edgeworth's innocence is heavily influenced by that class trial, for better or for worse. While I'm perfectly happy to imagine that Phoenix's attachment to his idealized version of Edgeworth grew into something deeper sometime in the fifteen years that he hasn't seen him, I do believe that Phoenix in particular really is just that much of a sentimental person. This is to say nothing of his nature as a defense attorney- and what little time he's managed to spend with Mia has taught him that unbridled trust in his client is what gets him through the day, and he's putting it to practice here. Edgeworth was what he has been working towards the moment he decided he would practice law- as Phoenix at this point in time still believes that he could do no wrong despite seeing what Edgeworth is truly like in court. -Cutting into the meat of Phoenix and Edgeworth's shared past, I made a point earlier to say that Phoenix's perception of Edgeworth as a person is idealized. Every memory that Phoenix has had of Edgeworth prior to the events of the first game were from their childhood- and they had 4-8 months (plus one year if we're generous with the retconning some of the official art gave us) MAX to develop a friendship so strong that Phoenix makes major life decisions just to meet with this man. The fact that this time spent together was ENOUGH for Phoenix in the first place is... really hard to skirt around. To quote Dan from GameGrumps "this is something that you would only do for someone you're trying to marry" and if one of them was a woman I guarantee this ship would be canon already. But then again- since this is Phoenix Wright in particular somehow I can believe that he really is just that sentimental- and that isn't always a bad thing. He'd managed to save Edgeworth twice with this conviction after all. When Phoenix sees Edgeworth, he doesn't see a demon prosecutor, he sees his childhood friend who aimed to become a shining example of justice following in his father's footsteps. They address how shaky his foundations for becoming an attorney were in the Phoenix Wright Files once actually- going through a mini-existential crisis because he'd become an attorney with the main goal of saving Edgeworth from what he'd become, and now that he's accomplished that he's just kind of... lost. Edgeworth himself manages to pull him out of this, though. -man that hurts my case a lot actually but to be fair I was banking on failing -I just didn't expect it to happen so early even with the first game -in fact ESPECIALLY with the first game -though I cannot for the life of me wonder how I can come up with a heterosexual explanation for why the buildup towards Edgeworth telling Phoenix and Maya about his nightmares reads so much like a stunted love confession. I'm serious- just read any high school shojo manga ever. You'll find that it hits a lot of the same beats.

>Rise From The Ashes -It's in this case that we observe some of the consequences that the intial upheaval of Edgeworth's worldview in Turnabout Goodbyes causes him; distrust in the enforcement of the law. Not exactly the time for him to be dabbling in another, meme-able brand of unnecessary feelings. Several things like the Prosecutor's Office's relationship with the Police Department starts to waver with the murder of Bruce Goodman, and this becomes the final nail in the coffin for Edgeworth's worldviews and values as a prosecutor. His and Phoenix's teamwork in this trial becomes prevalent- the story behind the King of Prosecutors award represents this best despite it's currently incomplete state. The backstory behind this award paints an ideal of justice in the courtroom wherein the truth comes out as a result of the efforts of contradictory forces. A broken halberd that can cut through any shield (the prosecution) and a broken, unbreakable shield (the defense). Read as representation the text becomes something of a metaphor for the ideal justice that manifests itself in the best parts of Edgeworth and Phoenix respectively- the duality of their opposing professions rather than something that is limited to their relationship. -The same argument that I've used for Phoenix's unwavering belief in Edgeworth's innocence in Turnabout Goodbyes can be used for this case as well. -Though Edgeworth still goes M.I.A for a year after this case, it does grant his disappearance a bit more context as to why exactly it is that he left- and I'll be taking a tiny liberty with this and apply the interpretation that the Miles Edgeworth Files grants us, and that he left in order to better himself and grow as a person, a prosecutor, and as a friend to Phoenix Wright. It's... difficult for me to want to read this as anything but romantically-charged because the narrative beats are NOT lost on me (the dialogue makes this especially hard. send help.)- there's a possibility that Edgeworth at this point in time realizes the value in having a better, more functional dynamic with the one defense attorney who he considers a true equal in court. This dynamic will allow for less chances to encounter missteps and errors in any verdicts handed down in court, and if Edgeworth is to pursue his ideal of justice- Phoenix Wright is undoubtedly essential to this endeavor. The aftermath of Rise From The Ashes is indicative of this newfound goal of his- the symbolism behind the old King of Prosecutors award and the two halves of the evidence list certainly helps this case. -<"It seems all you do is worry about me." -Miles Edgeworth, Rise From The Ashes> For good fucking reason Edgeworth. You were accused of murder and have implicated yourself on the stand for DL-6 just a few months ago- and if the Investigations games are anything to go by, you're more of a danger magnet than PHOENIX is. I had to say it. The first Investigations game takes place over the course of 2-3 days and the sheer amount of shit that Edgeworth had to deal with in between that interval truly makes me wonder how Phoenix Wright ended up with the title of danger magnet. And THIS time- Edgeworth's car becomes a crime scene because his corrupt superiors needed a convenient way of transporting a corpse. There's VERY good reasons to worry about the livelihood of Miles Edgeworth. -Okay I... can't believe I forgot about the chessboard. Here's the kicker- the one we see from his office isn't even the only one he owns. I... legitimately cannot give you ANY purely heterosexual, platonic explanation for why Miles Edgeworth has THREE (THREE. I CANNOT OVERSTATE THIS. HE HAS T H R E E OF THESE FUCKING THINGS. GOOD GOD. HE CAN'T BE ANY MORE EXTRA.)(there exists a similar, portable set in the Investigations games- and he has a new set by the time of Dual Destinies) sets of custom-made chessboards with personalized, highly-specific red and blue designs made purely to depict his rivalry with Phoenix Wright. I fold. I give up. I forgot about the chessboards I wAS NOT EXPECTING TO FAIL THIS E A R LY- -You know what the real kicker is with Rise From the Ashes? The main argument that I have introduced back in Turnabout Samurai does not apply here. Rise From the Ashes was made as a DS-exclusive case and did not exist in the original GameBoy version of the Trilogy. Which means if there is homoerotic tension written in for this case (and there happens to be a lot. the chessboard is proof enough.), then we can safely assume that the writers at this point were well-aware. So yeah- maybe don't feel TOO bad about the unnecessary feelings line- because ever since then the writers have been playing off of that and it SHOWS. -Is there really a point to this I'm just- everything is stacked against me tryna interpret this platonically -Like I know I make a point to say that a romantic relationship isn't the end-all of all relationships because this franchise LOVES pushing the Found Family dynamic and I'm an absolute sucker for that -good god by the time Dual Destinies rolls around I'll probably just give up and happily say they're happily married -that's literally what they act like don't even pretend

Fights & Arguments

With all the uncertainties & adjustments required of the newlyweds, arguments are to be expected without a doubt. Their challenges extend beyond their shared history as former enemies and political importance.

As seen in ch.12, Reiner is easily triggered or riled up by very specific sensitive subjects. He'll be very vocal, honest and upfront about it but he will also apologize if he steps out of line. He immediately realizes that & Mikasa has been observed to be able to divert his potential anger.

Alter!Reiner, however, oh boy, that is a very tricky situation for Mikasa. There's a whole new set of challenges lies in waiting up ahead down the road. If Reiner would be very open & honest, alter!Reiner is the more silent, passive agressive type. He's like still waters with darkness and danger lurking beneath the surface. While alter!Reiner takes over her lord husband's body, Mikasa would have to tread their communication carefully. She'll be in the constant dark - not knowing to expect when or how he would pull her further into his depths and drown her metaphorically.

Reiner is always a person who is very objective and logical. Sure, he can be a little bit manipulative when it comes to protecting his loved ones, however, when it comes to Mikasa, Reiner is slowly opening himself up by being honest & sincere with his wife.

In this universe, Reiner talks to her, heart to heart to ensure that both him and Mikasa are always on the same page. He understands that they are both shouldering huge responsibilities on their shoulders & they're a team.

Once in Liberio, it will be quite rare for them to have big arguments especially when they have to put up a united front. If they do, they'll do it in private. They would usually be able to meet each other halfway towards the end of their discussion. He might be the Lord of their nation but his Lady has equal rights to decide for their people's importance too.

Reiner, however, has his own weaknesses: self-depreciation & self-sabotaging tendencies. This will frustrates Mikasa a lot but it is their shared growth pains in their relationship.

However, any progress in their marriage will have to face a sudden concrete wall whenever Reiner's extreme self-depreciation tendencies get triggered and his alter holds the reign to his psyche. This alter avoids her like the plague, refuses to communicate & is absolutely making it difficult for their marriage to work smoothly. Mikasa would find herself being in a state of mental purgatory, which would be really ugly but this woman is also not one to be taken lightly. She will sooner learn how to breath under his deep, dark waters.

Mikasa is a physically strong woman but she is also the most vulnerable one emotionally, especially after the traumatic incident with Eren at Niccolo's eatery. But she has made a silent promise on her mother's name that she would not give up on her husband, no matter how hard he pushes her away.

Reiner will find himself growing more passionate towards his wife BUT he also feels he does not deserve to be jealous when he sees other men (especially those with political importance) trying to be extra friendly with his wife in order to win her favor as the East Sea's lady of authority. More often, he would repress his jealousy.

Alter!Reiner, however has a different idea when it comes to unearthing those repressed feelings. What Reiner could not convey, he will express it & that will manifest with the way he acts out on his grievances. (This will be explored further in another R20 post if you know what I mean 😳)

Mikasa would always be the calm one but alter!Reiner will force her to fight his fire with her fire. A litle bit of burning flames is healthy in a union between man and wife. But what happens when it gets a little bit too much?

Mikasa will go through her own mental gymnastics when it comes to accepting Reiner's duality. She will feel that she's married to two different men who share the same body. One who can't get enough of her and one who can't even stand her. She will have to find the point of balance between Reiner's personas.

Making Up

Reiner and Mikasa would discover that hugging things out before potential arguments take place is a good crisis aversion strategy. But, when it comes to these two, they tend to have that inexplicable spark whenever they touch. Therefore, very often their making up turns into making out (sometimes heavy petting and a quickie) *cough* They're married! 🤷‍♀️

Reiner also leaves peace offerings like a single violet or a bouquet of wildflowers on her nightstand after they argued or take her out on a night walk in Liberio's streets or just stargazing on the rooftop of his mother's house.

Alter!Reiner has a little bit of ego and resistance, so they tend to have an awkward conversation after the fallout of a fight. Yes, when Reiner and Mikasa debate to settle their differences, alter!Reiner tends to rile Mikasa up into a more physical altercation in private. No one will get hurt physically as Mikasa will always hold her own immense strength back with him, but it is not pleasant. Their relationship will evolve into another level, however, when a third person is trying to get in between them. Alter!Reiner would unleash the more possessive and territorial side of him. Things will change (for better or worst is yet to be known) as he learns that there's a really fine thin line that stands between lust and hate: love. He will discover that he has finally find his match in this woman - physically, mentally and sexually. Alter!Reiner's version of peace offering will be using Falco & Gabi as messengers because yeaps, his ego, heh.

“Hey Hiro, isn’t that where your dad tried to beat that sludge villain when he was little?”

Hiroyuki looked at the exhibit that Miyoko was pointing at. “Yeah, my dad tells me about it all the time. His friend was in trouble and the heroes there couldn’t help him so my dad tried to save his friend all by himself,” Hiroyuki said with a sparkle in his eye.

“Well, your dad’s friend sounds pretty lame since he couldn’t even beat a little slime,” Miyoko said with a grin. “Well, my dad only beat him because he had help from Grandpa Toshi. Heh heh,” Hiroyuki said as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Yeah, but your dad is awesome. I wish he was my dad,” Miyoko grumbled.

Hiroyuki looked at her and got ready to say something to cheer her up when the doors to the museum busted open. Two pro heroes rushed in.

“Woah! Red Riot and Chargebolt! I wonder what they’re doing here?”

“Everyone remain calm. There’s a problem in the building and we need everyone to evacuate immediately.”

The teachers tried to group all of their students up but they were interrupted when the lights flickered off and the ground shook violently. A chorus of screams sounded as an explosion rumbled through the museum causing the walls of the museum to shift and collapse.

Bakugo’s head pounded.

Ears ringing, he reached up and touched his head.

Blood.

“Tch. Damn psychopath. ”

Bakugo swayed when he stood up. He stumbled for the first few steps but was over all pretty good for surviving a full blown explosion. He guessed he was just used to them. He kept going until he saw a familiar head of red hair.

“Bakugo! What happened out there man!?” Kirishima asked knowing better than to ask if he was okay. Denki not so much.

“Yeah man, you look like shit.” Bakugo glared at the blonde.

“What did you say to me, Asshole!?” Bakugo went to swing at Kaminari but he missed and swayed forward.

Kirishima caught Bakugo.

“I don’t need your help, Shitty Hair!” Bakugo said as he swayed more trying to get away from the red head’s grasp.

“What happened back there, man?”

“Damn suicide bomber.”

“Woah man. That’s pretty serious. You need to get some medical help.”

“I’m fine.” Bakugo grumbled. Kirishima gave him a worried look.

“Fine. We’ll finish looking for survivors but after that we’re getting you to a doctor.”

Bakugo growled but didn’t comment on it.

“Hiro!” Miyoko yelled, trying to locate her best friend through the dust and wreckage.

“Miko! I’m over here!” Hiroyuki cried back from under a collapsed wall.

Miyoko started digging through pieces of wreckage desperately trying to free her best friend.

“Don’t worry Hiro! I’m gonna get you out!” Miyoko yelled, trying to calm down her bestfriend.

“Hey guys, I think I hear some kids over here!” Miyoko heard from behind her. She turned around to see heroes running towards her. She instantly recognized them from earlier.

“Red Riot, Chargebolt you’re here! My friend needs help!” Miyoko cried out as she ran over towards the heroes. Kirishima had to do a double take when he saw a carbon copy of his best friend running towards him.

“Hey, are you hurt little girl?” Kirishima asked as she approached him.

“My arm hurts a little, but I’m okay. My friend needs help. He’s stuck under those rocks,” Miyoko said as Kirishima checked her for immediate injuries.

“Hey Shitty Hair, what’s the hold up?”

Miyoko turned to face the rash voice. Another blonde hero limped towards the group. She stared intently at the hero, trying to figure out where she had seen him before. Bakugo looked at Miyoko.

“What’s your problem, brat?” Bakugo scoffed when Miyoko stuck her tongue out at him.

“Ground Zero, there’s a kid stuck under here. I’m worried that if we start pulling out rocks, it could bring the whole place down. I’m gonna go around and see if there’s another way to get the kid out,” Kirishima said before jogging around the rubble.

“Wait! I wanna go with you! He’s my friend and I wanna save him!” Miyoko yelled. Kirishima stopped dead in his tracks.

“Hey, what’s your name?” Kirishima asked the girl gently.

“Miyoko and his name is Hiro, Hiroyuki! He’s my best friend!”

“Look Miyoko. It’ll be safer for you and him if you wait here with Bak- I mean, Ground Zero. I know your mommy and daddy wouldn’t want you to get hurt or lost too,” he tried to reason with the four year old.

“Well, I don’t have a daddy.” Miyoko argued back.

“Well, I’m sure your mom would be really sad if something happened to you. You need to stay here where it’s safe,” Kirishima said with a frown. Kirishima leaned down to her level.

“I need you to protect my friend over there. He’s hurt. Can you be my hero and watch out for villains for me?” Miyoko begrudgingly nodded. She didn’t want to watch over this mean guy, she wanted to save her friend.

Miyoko crossed her arms and frowned but didn’t say anything else as the red headed hero ran around the building’s remains.

Bakugo and Miyoko sat in silence for a few moments before the rubble shifted and Hiroyuki let out a cry.

“Hiro!” Miyoko yelled before shooting up and running to help her friend. Miyoko was fast, but Bakugo was faster even in his wounded state. Bakugo tried to hold her back, but Miyoko was determined to get away and save her friend.

“Kid, you gotta stop, dammit! If you start pulling random fucking rocks, they’ll all fall and crush your friend,” Bakugo gritted out as he tried to contain the squirming Miyoko.

Miyoko eventually went limp in his arms, the frustration getting the better of her and hot angry tears made their way down her face.

“Shit,” Bakugo sighed. He wasn’t good with kids and Kirishima knew it. So, he didn’t see why he thought it was a good idea to leave him here.

“Everything’s gonna be fine, kid. There’s no reason to-“ Bakugo stopped as a new idea ran through his head.

“Hey kid, who’s your favorite hero?” Miyoko looked at him through big watery eyes before answering him.

“Hellfreeze, the duality hero. He’s the coolest. And my name’s not Kid, it’s Miyoko,” she sassed to him.

‘You gotta be shitting me,’ Bakugo thought to himself.

“Well, what would Hellfreeze want you to do in this situation? He wouldn’t want you to cry. He’d want you to be strong so that we can save your friend.”

Miyoko sniffed. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. I wish he was here. He’d know what to do.”

Bakugo suddenly remembered why he decided to never have kids.

Edit: Okay I feel like I have to clarify because if I didn’t know, it might now be that clear to me. In my fanfiction, Todoroki is one of the top three pro heroes. He also took on the hero name Hellfreeze mostly because I thought it sounded badass 😂 also in the next part, it might get confusing again so I’ll clarify right now. Uraraka let her hero license expire right after she had Hiro so she could protect him at home. Her and Midoriya desided it was for the best, because it was extremely dangerous for them to have a kid while Deku was still the no1 hero. If there’s anything I might’ve missed that’s confusing, just let me know!
