Still thinking about that one time in Hammer of Thor when magnus remembers annabeth telling him that they can't give up on randolph, literally saying "He's family, Magnus,... We can't give up on family." do yall think she was thinking of luke when she said that? because even though he did kinda get magnus killed, his intentions and heart were in the right place just like luke😭 luke wanted revenge for the awful shit the gods had done to him so he walked the wrong road and killed and sacrificed anyone who got in his way just so he could make the world "better". and randolph sided with loki (somewhat) and got magnus killed so he could get his family back. uhh anyways

tl;dr the magnus, randolph situation in HoT probably reminded annabeth of her and luke and that is the reason I cry at night

umm if i had a nickel for every time rick riordan wrote that one of his main characters (not the protagonist but close to him) had a pretty bad time when they had to wear a wedding dress to pass as a bride for a giant dude who thinks theyre a lady who they're not because theyre this close to getting killed and also at one point their connection to being animals almost gives their identity away in the second book of a saga id have 2 nickels which isnt a lot but its ... weird enough that it happened twice??????

I just finished the hammer of thor, read it in one day and now it's 3:09 am, I still have a lot of things to do, I know I'll hate myself and cry a little when I wake up later, and I know that I must be up at 5:30 at the latest.

“When you walked in, you said dude. How did you know I was male?” I thought about it. At first I wondered if it had just been a throwaway comment—a non-gender-specific dude. The more I considered, though, the more I realized I’d genuinely picked up on the fact that Alex was male. Or rather, Alex had been male. Now, after we’d been talking for a few minutes, she definitely seemed like a she. But how Id sensed that, I had no idea.

ALL of you should be more sympathetic to Randolph Chase. He spent his whole life dedicated to the Norse gods, yet it was his younger siblings were the ones that got to meet them. 

Imagine you’re a Percy Jackson kid, now a Percy Jackson adult. You come home one day and find out that your little sister, superstar mail carrier, has not only met Hermes, but now has a demigod child with him. Shock. Disbelief. Then, less than a year later, your brother obsessed with ancient Spartan war strategy is like, “Hey... So, I met the Greek goddess Athena at the library... And we accidentally created a brainchild together...” WHAT? 

Wouldn’t you be bitter? Wouldn’t you feel betrayed? You spent your entire life dedicated to a world you weren’t sure even existed, yet you loved it anyway. And who was rewarded for their faith and devotion? Not you. Your siblings! The ones who never wanted anything to do with the world in the first place. 

You would be MAD!!!!!!

And if a god showed up on your doorstep... 

After you had sacrificed everything to a World that did not care for you...

Wouldn’t, for the first time, you feel acknowledged? Special? Seen, like your siblings?

Wouldn’t you want the chance to work with a god from the World you have been obsessed with since childhood? Even, if that god, was a trickster known for causing trouble? 

Because what is the end of the world to someone who has lost everything? 

Because what is the end of the world to someone finally feeling seen?
