Today was a Great Day to be a Florida Gator! Breaking out of quarantine for medical stuff is usually not much of a break, oftentimes traumatic, but today gave me some desperately needed hope for our future. It's best that I post a pic of my take-out in the front basket of my solar-powered mobility scooter vs. the food I scarfed down. To appreciate the vegan egg & cheez w shitake bacon bagel, you actually need to go to @humblewoodfire & get one yourself, but the orange cranberry cobbler I got from @karma_cream was incredible (did the server accidentally touch the last one left or was that a Freudian thing?😆). Their IG is pretty much a masochistic endeavor: yummy organic, vegan pastries shoved in your face. It's been a form of torture for me during the pandemic. I'm so grateful they managed to survive. The grand finale was on the way back home; I discovered 3 more homes in my hood with solar. Woohoo! My neighborhood is small, so this is a big deal. We might have the highest solar housing per capita right here in my neighborhood for the entire state, which of course doesn't say much for Florida, due to, well you know, but our little blue Oasis is alive & kicking here in Hogtown! It was pretty dreary out, but it felt like the sun🌞 was shining all day! Seeing others living cruelty-free & practicing responsible energy consumption really made my day/week/month/year/years. Keep hoping Zoomers! 🤞 Today was just a brief reprieve from my medical quarantine. I've been extremely fortunate, don't dare press my luck, & am grateful for what a beautiful day it was. I hope yours was, too!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/ClUuPS9uo_D/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

First ever order from Globally Local. I got their ChickUn Ceasar Wrap with a side order of Fries Supreme and tried my first EVER tzatziki dip!
This was AWESOME! The wrap was smaller (length-wise) than I expected (my referance being Hogtown Vegan's 😅) but still PACKED. Seriously, LOOK at that close-up! 🤤
The tzatziki I got as a dip because I've never had it, and wasn't sure what to expect. To me, it tasted like ranch - but I liked it! (Just wish I didn't debate so long about getting it 😅)
Overall, I DEFINITELY recommend them! Their food is SO GOOD, and the best part? It's ALL vegan!! 🥳🥳
I'm definitely gonna be placing many more orders in the future!

HOW TO ENJOY A WEEKEND IN TORONTO – 2-DAY ITINERARY
Tumblr media
Check out the history and also society of Toronto, Canada in a weekend with this 2-day, fun-packed travel plan. I have actually included some ideas as well as shortcuts we picked up from our short time in Toronto, to stuff a whole lot more art, style as well as tasty food right into your 48-hours in Hogtown.
Disclosure: I might earn payment from the purchase of any service or product connected on this web site, at no extra expense to you. I only connect to items I utilize and also enjoy, consequently really feel comfy suggesting.
Saturday
Self-guided strolling excursion of Old Toronto
First up, start with a strolling tour of the historic midtown core of the city. "However what about breakfast?" I hear your stomach grumble. Don't stress, I've got you. The Old Town Toronto Scenic tour is broken into East and also West. I recommend you start with the West utilizing this map, as that will certainly take you through St Lawrence Market where you can get a Toronto-rific Peameal Bacon Sandwich at the Slide Carousel Bakeshop. If you are a vegan or vegan, don't sweat it, there are a ridiculous variety of good locations to consume in the Market, you'll locate something that doesn't contain the city's famous bacon. When you've eaten, proceed with the remainder of the West Scenic tour and after that on Old Town Toronto East.
Top pointer: Take money to St Lawrence Market, lots of suppliers do not accept card including Slide carousel.
Fantastic sights from the CN Tower
Normally, I expect areas like the dining establishments at the CN Tower to be a full tourist trap with high costs and also low-quality food. I'm delighted to report that wasn't our experience of the CN Tower whatsoever. If like us you have a great deal of Toronto to see as well as really little time, you do not want to be standing in a lengthy queue to stand up the Tower. We decided to make a booking at the revolving 360 Dining establishment which offered us with wonderful views, good food as well as excellent service without the delay.
Top idea: If you purchase the pre-fixe dish ($ 60 per person for 2 courses), you will additionally have free access to the Search and Glass Floor levels of the Tower when you are done eating. When you compare that to $38 for a basic admission grown-up ticket to 2 monitoring levels alone, it's a much better offer.
Toronto road art hot spot
From the CN Tower, you can burn your lunch with a 20min (1.7 kilometres) walk to Hurry Lane, one of Toronto's most popular street art areas. Obtain a taste of the Toronto's street artistry right here, together with a preview of some public art work you'll locate on your self-guided Old Toronto scenic tour.
Sunday
Breakfast and a scenic architectural walk
I'm a big fan of a leisurely Sunday breakfast, however you will certainly require to maintain moving if you intend to see more of Toronto today. We stopped for a laid-back breakfast at Karine's en route. Our location? The Royal Ontario Gallery, a 40min (3km) stroll north of downtown. Along the road you'll pass the ultra-modern Art Gallery of Ontario as well as OCAD, in addition to a number of historic structures in the College of Toronto school as well as Queen's Park, making it worth the walk instead of taking motorised transport.
Royal Ontario Gallery (ROM).
You might invest hrs searching the extensive collection of the ROM, so I concentrated my limited time on all things Canadian. The Daphne Cockwell Gallery is committed to the art as well as culture of Canada's First Peoples with more than 1000 artefacts. While the Sigmund Samuel Gallery of Canada grabs from the moment of European negotiation with approximately 560 artefacts from Canada's heritage.
Mid-day in a castle.
I was so interested and thrilled by Casa Loma, Toronto's "Castle on capital," I composed much more concerning it here. Take a couple of hrs to explore the estate as well as premises with an audio guide to find out all the fascinating ins and outs of the affluent industrialist as well as his European-style castle that was never ever completed.
Plan a journey to Toronto, Canada.
Discover flights to Toronto's Pearson Flight terminal (YYZ) with Skyscanner.
Look for lodging making use of Tripadvisor.
If you are driving from the US as we were, permit regarding a hr each means to queue at the boundary. Don't neglect your passport!!
Don't neglect travel insurance, I recommend 7 Corners or Globe Nomads.
Places to consume throughout your weekend break in Toronto.
There were way more than a weekend's well worth of areas to eat on my listing when we arrived in Toronto, so below are the ones we ate at and enjoyed:.
Karine's-- Karine's offers informal, healthy and balanced, home-style morning meals in a somewhat hard-to-find location. You'll find it tucked away in a food court at Village by the Grange. Plenty of vegan as well as vegan alternatives available.
360-- The rotating dining establishment at the top of the CN Tower pleasantly amazed us with their fresh, in your area motivated cuisine. Examine their food selection and also make a booking here.
Byblos-- We rolled out of Byblos after consuming way too much of their delicious Middle Eastern food. Ensure you make a reservation, it's a preferred joint.
Alo-- If Michelin handed out celebrities in Canada, Alo would certainly have 1 or 2. Even if you fail to remember to make a development booking, there's an opportunity you can treat yourself to an elegant dinner in bench. We got here late Friday evening and were seated in the bar immediately.
