@dj-of-the-coven and I were talking and they inspired me to pick up the free editing program on my shitty tablet and make a poorly synced beatneku amv because this ship doesn't get enough gotdam love.

It was synced in my program but for some fuckin reason the rendering doesn't work proper on any apps on this tablet so yall are gonna have to deal with the poor clip timing

I feel like AMVs are a very specific kind of love letter to the media they’re based on solely bc as an art form they sort of necessitate that you’ve seen the original property multiple times and have an intimate knowledge of it when it comes to selecting scenes that fit the timing of the music, the current lyric of the music, the vibe of the song, etc. especially when the AMV is set to a full song. Like the soul eater this is halloween AMV I would guess the person who made it has seen soul eater or parts of it a bare minimum of 10 times, and was clearly paying very close attention. Which is its own kind of rewarding way to consume something I think. - watching it that closely and then being able to create something new from what’s already there

a concept for the type of OP i'd love to see for the second season of Dungeon Meshi! both s1 OPs are great, but i'm really hoping for one that captures both the "dangerous fantasy adventure" and "comedic cooking adventure" aspects of the series in equal measure, because it's the integration of those two concepts that makes the series special to me. the joyous whimsy and the dramatic horrors are equally important!!
