Kaeya
When Kaeya asked you to be his partner to one of the largest events in all of Mondstadt, you were beyond excited - this was an opportunity you had been waiting for - you’d always wanted to dance with him, and this was the perfect opportunity to do so
You did your best to get ready, not knowing if this or that outfit would be better to wear, and the anxiety of having to meet him at the event hall was weighing on you
“Y/N!” You turned your head for the thousandth time, so many voices had called out to you the moment you descended the stairs, their eyes as powerfully overwhelming as their voices. Luckily, this voice was someone you were relieved to see. Amber gripped onto your hands and pushed herself between you and the many bodies standing just a bit too close. “You look incredible! I’ve only ever seen you in your adventure clothes.”
“Haha, I couldn’t come to a ball dressed like that, could I?” You glanced down at your attire, it had taken you a long time to decide what to wear and even though you settled on this, and were getting compliment after complement, you only cared about one person's opinion. Where was he?
“Well, you look incredible!” She gripped your wrist and pulled you along, shouting at people who refused to get out of the way, her peppy voice breaking through all the many others calling for your attention. It was strange to be the center of attention. You’d seen so many of these faces around town and they didn’t seem to notice you then, so why all the affection now? It made you feel self-conscious.
When you were finally away from the sea of eager eyes, you took a deep breath. The new, less crowded space letting in relief to ease your nerves.
You looked at Amber and smiled at her, she always seemed to know how to bring you just what you needed, her kindness knew no bounds and you were we happy to have a friend like her. “Have you been here long?” You asked her.
“Pretty much, I’ve been helping plan this event for a while. I’m happy for it to be over honestly, who knew planning something like this was so exhausting.”
“Ha, maybe that’s why Diluc always has a sour expression on his face. Too many events.”
“You’re probably right! Ah, can you imagine stern Diluc planning a party? I’d die.” She laughed and the cheery vibrations seeped into your weary skin, your nerves made it easier for you to have an emotional reaction and with her disposition you found yourself laughing with her.
“So,” you looked out over the dance floor, noticing the tables full of food and drink, people standing in small circles chatting and laughing away. “Who else made it tonight?”
“Oh, are you looking for someone in particular?” She tilted her head and smiled at your flustered state.
“N-no … what … shut-up.” You frowned and looked away from her.
“I think you’ll see him soon, he had something to do but it won’t take him all night.” She must have noticed your disappointment because in an instant she made the decision to get you something to eat and stuck to your side until you had a more natural smile on your face.
Any excuse to be close to you he is all for, it doesn’t matter what the occasion is, he will find a way to hold you, touch you - he just cannot get enough of you
When he invited you to the Favonious ball, he knew you’d quickly take up his offer and join him, there wasn’t a question in his mind that you would deny it
He had several things to prepare for and was frustrated that he couldn’t bring you to the event himself, but he knew you’d show up and once you did he’d have all night to spend with you - that was if he could make his way through the barrage of people who were flocking to you as soon as you stepped through the door
He stepped through the hallway, his footsteps echoing off the walls as he made his way toward the ballroom. Lisa had given him a few ‘last minute’ wardrobe adjustments, and while she cooed over how handsome he looked, he hated how tight the suit was around his neck. He pushed his finger between the collar of his dress shirt and pulled at it.
As he turned the corner, he could already hear the sounds of the party drifting up toward him. He hoped it wasn’t too late, his work had kept him longer than he wished and it was well past the time that you said you’d be there. He was frustrated and eager to see your face.
The light from the ballroom washed over him as he stepped onto the balcony. There were still plenty of people enjoying themselves below but he only cared about one. His eyes scanned the crowd, heart filling with dread as he failed again and again at finding you among them. Then he saw you, your back leaning against one of the pillars, your arms crossed around your chest, eyes looking at the outrider who seemed to be holding you in a lively conversation.
He smiled and quickly made his way down the steps, his hands slipping into his pockets as he did so.
People were engaged in discussions, which normally he would be interested in as these were great opportunities to gather information, but his focus was on something much more important.
“I’m going to ask them…” A voice caught his attention so he slowed his pace.
“Don’t even bother, they haven’t danced with anyone the whole night. They’ve just been talking with that brunette for hours.”
“I’m pretty persistent; I know how to win someone over.” Kaeya looked at them, his gaze lingering for a moment before catching you in the same place you had been. He watched as they made their way toward you and the stab in his chest pulled at the back of his mind. Quickly, he unbuttoned the collar of his shirt, the freedom of it spurring him on as he pushed his way toward you.
--
“Hey, I couldn’t help but notice you haven’t danced with anyone here. I know, you’ve just been waiting for me to ask you all night.” The man smiled at you, but there was something unsettling about the way he did it.
“No thank you, I’m not interested.”
“Come on, it’ll be fun. You won’t regret it.” You were getting irritated at this point, not only had he interrupted your conversation with Amber, but he wasn’t the only person to ignore your first no.
“Again, I’m not interested.” You turned away from him hoping that if you didn’t look he’d just walk away.
He placed his hand against the pillar and leaned in closer to you and you were about to show him how strong your disinterest was when you heard a familiar voice.
“How rude of me to keep you waiting for so long, I came as soon as I could.” You looked behind the man and saw Kaeya standing there in formal attire, his beauty seemed to know no limits - frustrating.
“Kaeya!” You stood, disregarding everything and flashing him the brightest smile you could.
“Am I too late for a dance?” He held out his hand to you and without hesitation you took it. He led you to the dance floor leaving behind a confused, dejected suitor and excited Amber in your wake.
He spun you around as soon as you reached the dance floor, a hand resting on your hip and the other holding your hand. “You look stunning, did you get dressed up all for my sake?” He looked down at you and his smile made your legs weak.
“Maybe … don’t let it go to your head.”
“Too late.” He laughed and you forgot how much you missed him. It didn’t matter how long you waited, for him, you would wait an eternity.
“I heard a rumor about you.”
“What rumor?” You looked up at him and caught the mischief in his eyes.
“That you haven’t danced with a single person here, is that true?”
“... It is … I only …” You looked down at his chest before continuing. “I only wanted to dance with you.”
His hands squeezed around your hip and you felt him pull you closer, “How lucky am I. Sorry I made you wait.”
“No! You don’t have to apologize.” Your head shoots up to meet him, your voice a bit louder than you planned, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
“Well let’s give them all a show, shall we? I mean, I have to make sure they know they’ll never stand a chance.” The two of you spend the rest of the night together, the jealousy of all those who wished they were Kaeya apparent as they started to fade away the longer the two of you held one another. Kaeya couldn’t be happier, he was completely fine with them dropping all hope of being yours - that space was for him and him alone.
Diluc
You were having a great time enjoying the festivities. Practically everyone had been invited to the winery to celebrate the coming of the new season, it was one of the most popular events that could happen
The two of you had been catching each other here and there, but with how busy he was taking care of everything, and how popular you were becoming as a dance partner or at least an interested dance partner, the two of you continued to drift past the other
Diluc was getting more and more irritated as the evening went on. There were so many things distracting him from where he desperately wanted to be. Instead of being at your side, he was busy hosting conversation after conversation with potential business partners, dealing with the drunkards who couldn’t seem to keep a responsible handle on their booze, and drifting between staff to make sure they had what they needed.
Reasons like these were why he typically avoided hosting events, but it was always fruitful and he needed to keep old connections and build new ones. Still, when he had a second and his eyes drifted through the crowd to find you, he felt the heat rise in his chest as he watched you dancing in the arms of someone other than him. He wasn’t mad at you of course, he was frustrated with himself that he allowed others to touch you, you were just too kind - a trait he loved, but one that also pulled at his heart.
“They are incredible.” He heard someone share with their friend. Glancing up from his work he saw just who they were in discussion about.
“I wonder if they are seeing anyone?”
“I haven’t heard anything …Hey, If you don’t go for it, I will!” They laughed and while he couldn’t tell if their intentions held any weight, he hated that the idea was even present in their minds. Again, it was on him that people didn’t know you were seeing one another. The two of you looked like good friends with the way you respected his boundaries, and his reservation at being expressive with his affections for you. He clenched his jaw before walking away.
---
Your legs were starting to ache from the amount of activity you were requesting of them. So many people had asked you to dance, and you didn’t want to be rude, as a guest of Diluc’s you wanted to make sure to be as kind and thoughtful as you could. However, with the amount of energy you were expending on everyone else you were starting to feel the effects of it all. So when several more, slightly persistent, patrons came to ask you to dance, you found yourself leaning to decline.
“Excuse me,” they began, “If you would be so kind, I’d love to have the next dance with you.” You looked up at them and saw their nervous smile. It hurt to reject them, but you desperately wanted a break.
“Thank you, but I’m going to have to respectfully decline.” You nodded your head and noticed there were other eager dance partners standing behind them. “I need to rest a bit, everyone has been so lively, and I’m running out of stamina.” You laugh in an attempt to make your rejection more lighthearted.
“If you don’t want to dance, we can do something else!” They sat down next to you, their arms perched on the table, body leaning in way to close. They began to ask you questions, which was fine until they started to get more and more personal. You did your best to answer them, but when they asked the next question it was a challenge to get them to accept your response.
“Everyone is dying to know,” another asked, you turned your head to them and waited, “are you seeing anyone?”
You averted your gaze before responding, “Yes. I am.”
“What!?” | “There is no way?” Their voices hit you at once and the loudness of their shouting drew eyes from other party-goers. They badgered you for a bit, all asking different questions at the same time, making it hard to hear them all. One stuck out and when they spoke the group got quiet.
“I’ve never seen you with anyone.” You looked at them, their arms crossed and lips turned into a frown. “You’re pulling our legs.”
“No, I really am seeing someone.”
“I don’t believe it, you're just using that as an excuse.” Their words made you angry. You didn’t own them anything and you were being plenty kind, and, that kindness, was starting to grow thin. “Tell us who it is and then we will believe you.” They placed their hand on the table and looked directly into your eyes. You were about to answer them when you were interrupted by the person himself.
“Y/N.” He spoke and the voices around the table died down, you looked at him and felt unbelievable relief.
“Diluc.” You stood and walked toward him, his hand open for you, a gesture you were surprised by. Carefully, you placed your hand in his and scratched the side of your head.
He looked at you, his eyes heavy on your skin. “Sorry I’ve been so busy.”
“It’s okay, I don’t mind waiting.” His thumb rubbed the back of your hand, there was no way people couldn’t notice how much that affected you.
“Hey! What’s going on … are the two of you …?” The person stood up and placed their hands on their hips. Their shouting drew the eyes of others again and everyone at the table stilled as they waited for a response.
“Yes, and I ask that you don’t cause them any trouble; I won’t tolerate it.” His tone had a hint of a threat and it made your chest tight. There was a shockwave of disbelief that ran through the crowd, and the whispering made your ears burn. Diluc looked at you and you looked back, “Shall we?”
“Mhm.”
You followed after him, his broad shoulders a sight you never got tired of seeing and when the two of you held each other in movement to the music, you knew there would be no secret to your relationship now. Diluc made that clear from his words to his actions, and as the music began to fade and the sun dipped below the cliffs, he bravely showed his feelings for you as his lips touched your cheek.
Childe
He’d be all about showing you off to others - he wants to make it clear that you and he are an item no matter where you were
You went with him back to his home-town. It was a long trip, but so worth it to be with him, to see where he grew up. It took a while to get used to the chilly weather, and in fact you had to layer up extra carefully in order to bear the cold
His family had prepared for him a welcome party and had practically invited everyone they could to celebrate his return. Even if they knew it was only temporary, as his membership with the Fatui often kept him on the move, still, it was nice to feel so loved and welcomed with such a joyous event.
They also knew he would be bringing someone special back with him. It was a demand which plastered every letter he received from his siblings. He knew if he didn’t bring you along there would be a reception colder than the snow that never melted.
Of course, the two of you arrived hours before the start of the celebration. This gave his siblings and other family plenty of time to introduce themselves to you. They asked you question after question and when it was finally time to get ready for the party, you noticed how rough your voice had become. You definitely knew that Childe was a member of this family, he too knew how to wear out your voice.
Childe changed clothes quickly, it had been so long since he wore those clothes from this region. As he looked in the mirror, the way the outfit rested snuggly against him, it made him even more nostalgic than he already was. He was waiting out in the large living room, his mind playing out memories of his childhood in this house when a sound caught his attention.
His younger siblings giggled and shouted in excitement and as he turned to see what was all the fuss he felt the air in his lungs leave him. You were dressed in a traditional style outfit, your hair styled to fit your attire, hands fussing with the clothes you weren’t used to wearing. When you looked up at him and smiled shyly he felt an incredible urge to lock you behind closed doors and not let anyone lay their eyes on you.
You walked toward him, ignoring the loudness of his siblings, “They said this would be okay … Do I … look alright?”
“You look incredible.”
“Thank you.” You drop your head, looking at your hands and he desperately wants to pull your face back to him, but is interrupted before he gets the chance.
“Let’s go already, big brother!” Teucer shouts, already standing at the door.
“Shall we?” Childe extends his elbow to you and you take it.
---
He had been watching you dance with the members of his family for a while, and while it moved his heart to see you laughing and doing your best to learn the moves, he wanted to hold you in his arms himself. He wanted you, to have you experience his traditions first hand through him. So, when he couldn’t handle it any longer, he finally asked you to dance.
“You all have been keeping them so busy … I’m going to steal them back now.” He exclaimed, barging into the game you had been playing with his younger siblings.
“That’s not fair! You’ve been able to keep them to yourself for so long. We want to play more.”
“You can after I’ve had my fun, let’s go.” He pulled you away and their cries sounded as you drifted further from them.
“I was winning!” You exclaimed, laughing as he pulled you behind him.
“It’s my turn to have your attention.” He turned and pulled you close to him. You could feel his energy through his fingertips, it was familiar, like the time he saw you talking to that stranger in one of the bars of Liyue.
“Childe, you can’t seriously be jealous of your family.”
“You don’t know me at all, do you.” He spun you around and when you realized you were out on the dance floor you knew you were in trouble.
“I’m not very good at this yet.” You try to explain to him but it falls on deaf ears.
“I’ll teach you, just follow my lead.” He nodded to the musicians and they began to warm up, their music drowning out the chatter. Quickly, he leaned down and kissed your forehead before offering some last minute encouragement, “Let me show them all how spectacular you are.”
He loved every second of this. The way your feet stumbled over his as he moved with you across the dance floor, the way your face flashed through different expressions: joy, concern, embarrassment, confidence. He couldn’t get enough of you, there was never enough of you. How was he ever going to be satiated with you around, especially when you were embracing his home, his family with such unbound acceptance.
He wanted to swallow you up, he wanted to lock you to him for the rest of time, and the more you let him take, the stronger his desire became.
As the music drifted into its final crescendo he lifted you in his arms and spun you around. There were countless couples surrounding you, all shouting and cheering on the excitement that rippled from the center of the dance floor. When he stopped and you slid a bit down his chest, your shoulders at the height of his chin, hands gripping tightly on his shoulders and face dipping down to him with a smile that told him everything he ever needed to know about you, he let the words fall from his mouth, finally being as honest as he ever had been.
“I love you.”
Albedo
Albedo wasn’t too fond of parties and get-togethers, it was a lot of energy to expend on the discussions or interactions which he’d much prefer to stay clear of, at least if he can get away with it. Still, he had promised to make an appearance, and when he saw you he was much more inclined to stay
He loved to watch you have a great time, you were so independent, doing things whenever you felt like it and experiencing life as it happened. Unless it was explicitly told to others, most wouldn’t have any idea that the two of you were seeing each other. Most of the time that wasn’t a problem, as your busy schedules kept you distracted, but as he watched you mingle with the citizens and partake in the festivities, and how you drew the attention of interested eyes, he was starting to get jealous
These sorts of festivals drew in travelers from all over Teyvat. Most of them only blew in with the wind while others stayed longer after the final banner was removed. It was something that almost everyone in Mondstadt took part in, even those who often didn’t get out much -- and he was one of them.
Albedo made his way through the streets greeting citizens as he passed by, a quick nod or hello here and there. It was Sucrose who had encouraged him to take a break, reminding him that he was likely to see you down in the festivities. So, he put away his work for the day and headed out of the research labs toward the cheering below.
When he saw it was like the sun shined on his face for the first time in days. He felt so warm and was eager to reach you. As he got closer, he couldn’t help but notice the many faces that were turned to you. It was strange but he tried not to let that oddity hender him in any way. That’s when he started to hear the conversation you were having with someone, the closeness of them to you, and the way they didn’t seem to leave you alone.
It wasn’t like him, either, to let his emotions get the better of him, but having to listen and watch others take notice of you, something inside of him grew and he wanted to make sure they knew their hands would never reach yours.
--
“Hey.” A man walked up to you and injected himself in the conversation you were having. You stopped what you were doing and glanced at him, curious. “Would you be interested in dancing with me?”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I’m not much of a dancer.” You smiled at him and tried to let him down easy. In fact you’d love to dance, but only if it was with a particular person, and he didn’t seem to be around at the moment.
“It’s okay if you aren’t, I’m happy to teach you some moves.” He took a step closer and his first impression of friendliness was slipping into pushiness.
You started to tap your fingers against your leg, the motion becoming more intense the closer he got. “Really, I’m not a good dancer, you’ll find more luck with someone else.”
“Come on, it’ll be fun.” He reached for your hand but was blocked by another. When you looked at the owner and saw it was Albedo, your stomach flipped.
“Albedo?” You turned to him, a smile on your face and relief in your voice.
“Excuse me, but I believe they said they weren’t interested?”
“... ha, what are you their boyfriend?” They laughed and continued talking, “Listen, why don’t you let …”
“Yes, I am.” Albedo interjected, cutting the person off.
“What?”
“We are together.” They looked confused, their eyes moving back between yours and Albedo’s. Albedo looked down at you and noticed the expression on your face, “Is that not the right way to describe our relationship?”
“No! I mean, yes, that’s right.” You looked at the person and gestured to Albedo, “This is my boyfriend, I’m his … we’re together, yes.” You nodded your head way too many times, but the point seemed to get across to them anyway. They left in a huff and you watched them leave before standing and turning to Albedo.
It was the first time the two of you had ever really said those words out loud - of course you knew in your minds that you were a couple … but to say the term which let the outside world know of your relationship, well it was so exciting
You felt your face get hot as you remembered how factually he had spoken, how quickly he answered their question. You couldn’t help but pat your face and pinch your cheeks
After that, the two of you wandered through the festival, eating delicious food, participating in the activities, laughing and having interesting discussions, as you always did
When night started to drift over the event and only a few people remind in the city center, you found yourself back in the place where your time together started, music drifting through the air
You had such an incredible day. There were times the two of you were so busy that you would go days without seeing one another, so to spend an entire afternoon together was like a gift.
“Today was incredible.” You express, the excitement and joy from the day making you click your tongue against the roof of your mouth.
“I can tell you had a good day.” Albedo replies, smiling at you.
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, you click your tongue like that when you’re happy … sometimes when you’re focused.”
“Ah, really! I’ve never noticed.”
“I think it’s cute.” He stepped closer and grabbed your hand, his grip soft and gentle. “So I know you don’t like to … I was wondering … would you like to dance with me?”
“Yes!” You answered much quicker than he expected, your voice startling him a little. You covered your mouth and laughed, your eyes squinting.
“Let’s go.” You took his hand and walked until the space felt right. Albedo let go of you before turning to look at you. With an elegant bow he requested your hand once again, you returned the gesture, not wanting to be rude and also trying your best to not scream with excitement. The music swelled and your bodies moved closer, his hands wrapping around your back while yours draped over his shoulders. You rested your head against his chest and let the wonderful day drift into a wonderful night, you and Albedo sharing in a moment with one another. No worries, no interruptions, just one another swaying to the sweet mixture of music and distant conversations.
“I’m glad you could make it today.”
“Me too.”

Reflection Of You | Chapter 17
Genre: Historical!AU, Timetraveller!AU/ Different Dimension, Romance
Pairing: SUGA x Reader, Yoongi x Reader
Characters: Normal!Reader, Idol!Suga, King!Yoongi, Guard!Seokjin, Guard!Jungkook, RoyalAdvisor!Namjoon, Servant!Jimin, Servant!Hoseok, Prince!Taehyung
Summary: Confirming you were dating the famous Min Suga of BTS, you knew you were bound to make some enemies. But what you didn’t expect was to be cursed, leading you to meet a cold-hearted, arrogant king that shares the same face as your rapper lover.
It’s hard for Yoongi to open up. It’s hard for him to show the feelings that he’s been bottling up all those years. But maybe, just maybe, it’s time to let all of them go.
Tumblr media
Seokjin had come to inform you that Yoongi requested your company for dinner in the dining room. He waited for you to freshen up and escorted you and Jimin there. It was like deja vu as you took your seat to wait for Yoongi.
“The great king of Joseon, Min Yoongi, will be making his entrance.” Jungkook announced. Seokjin and Jimin bowed.
“Long live the king.” They chorused. You remained seated this time, not even standing or bowing to Yoongi. Yoongi entered and stared at your still seated form, a small smile grazing his lips. You will never change and that’s what he liked about you.
“Still refusing to bow down?”
“You’ll live long enough, even without my wishes.” You scoffed. Yoongi chuckled and sat down in his spot. He waved at everyone to exit the room, leaving the two of you alone.
“How was gardening?” Yoongi asked as you poured alcohol into his cup.
“It was so fun! I learnt a lot from the gardener! We planted some seeds and some plants that were already in pots.” You rambled.
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.” Yoongi reached out to pat your head. The simple gesture was something he did so often now that it didn’t even seem weird to the both of you anymore.
“And I didn’t know advisor Namjoon is also an avid gardener. Apparently, he waters the garden plants every day and he even has this huge plum tree!” You continued, even using your arms to try and show how big the tree was. But of course, it was an underestimation. Yoongi watched you with amusement, taking a sip of alcohol.
“Is he now?” Yoongi asked. Of course, he knew that Namjoon liked plants and did all that but he thought he would entertain you a little.
“Yeah. Jimin says the plums are sweet when harvested and the plum wine that is made from them is really good. I hope to try it sometime.” You nodded with a hopeful smile.
“I can get it for you now.”
“There’s no need-”
“Namjoon!” Yoongi shouted. As if they were listening in on the conversation, Namjoon immediately opened the door with a bow.
“(y/n) here heard about the plum wine we make from the harvest of plums from your tree. She would like to try some. Fill a bottle for her to have now.” Yoongi said. Namjoon nodded and promptly exited the room.
“I didn’t mean I needed to try it now, Yoongi. Geez.” You scoffed. Yoongi ignored your comment and continued eating. Namjoon returned with a small ceramic decanter. He bowed and knelt by the side of the table to fill the small cups with the plum wine.
“Have some.” You said to Namjoon. Namjoon turned to Yoongi, who nodded his head in approval.
“Thank you.” Namjoon bowed his head as you took the decanter to pour some into a new cup for him. The 3 of you clinked cups before taking a drink. It was sweet and fruity.
“It’s so good!” You complimented. Namjoon couldn’t help but smile.
“I’m happy you like it.” He laughed. When he was done, he bowed his head and exited the room.
“What about you? Did you have a good... meeting?” You asked Yoongi slowly. Yoongi raised an eyebrow at you trying to start small talk with him but he shrugged, being vague with his answer.
“Whether it was good or bad, I hope you feel happy or relieved that it’s at least over.” You smiled. Yoongi stopped and stared at you.
“What?”
“Nothing. Just thinking about something else.” He shook his head and continued eating. You blinked but shrugged and ate as well. Yoongi picked out the bigger pieces of boneless braised meat and placed it onto your plate, surprising you. You looked at the piece of meat as if it was a foreign substance and looked up at him.
“You seem to always struggle to remove the bones. And you give the boneless meat to the other me. I’ll do the same for you.” He excused. You couldn’t help but laugh as Yoongi acknowledged the ‘other him’.
“So you acknowledge that there’s another you somewhere out there?”
“I never said I didn’t. You just don’t tell me much about him, how different or similar he is from me.” He said.
“What do you want to know?” You asked. Obviously, both Yoongis were rather different but as you got to know the Yoongi in front of you, you do seem to find similarities every now and then.
“What can you tell me about him?”
“Hmm... I mean, you look exactly the same, you already know that. You’re both deathly pale and bear resemblance to cats. You both love tangerines and you’re both night people instead of day people. Not that big a fan of sweets...” You listed out.
“I fail to see how I look like a cat.” Yoongi blinked. It took a long while for your Yoongi to come to terms with the whole ‘lil meow meow’ thing too.
“Trust me. It’s there. Oh and you both squint like this when you’re focusing on something.” You giggled, mimicking him.
“You’re finding too much amusement in this.”
“I don’t think I know you well enough to tell the differences. But my Yoongi... When you first meet him, he just seems cold, guarded and introverted. Yes, he is introverted. But he’s not cold at all.” You said, swallowing your food.
“He’s guarded because he had been wounded before by the rest of the world. And even when we got together, I realised that he just isn’t one to really show his feelings, or at least verbally. He shows his love and care through his actions. That’s what I liked about him. He was very comfortable to be around and he made me lower my guard too.” You smiled.
“He sounds like a perfect human.”
“He’s not, he’s far from it. I am the same. We’ve both come to realise it. Sure, we’ve had our fights and arguments but at the end of the day, we work it out. It takes two hands to clap, right?” You looked up at Yoongi.
“You miss him.” Yoongi stated.
“Of course. Even before we were together, he was my safety blanket for years.” You said sadly, looking at your food.
“When I’m sad, he makes me laugh or he cries with me. He worries for me, even when he should be worrying about himself.” Tears blurred your vision. Suddenly, you felt someone pull your head to a chest.
Yoongi didn’t know what to say. Just like your Yoongi, he wasn’t good with words, he only knew how to show he cared with his actions.
“Sorry, I digressed.” You said.
“It’s okay.” Yoongi whispered, stroking the back of your head. He used the end of his sleeve to wipe your tears. Sitting back down, the two of you continued talking as you finished the food. You wanted to ask about Mirae but you knew it was a sensitive topic for Yoongi so you didn’t bring it up.
“Later, can we walk in the garden?” You asked.
“That excited about the garden?” Yoongi teased. You flushed, clearing your throat sheepishly.
“Of course, we can. I can’t wait to see your hard work.” Yoongi finished. That made you feel even more embarrassed. It was like a child pestering her parent to see her artwork.
“I heard the garden was your mother’s?” You gulped. Yoongi seemed to falter for a few seconds before straightening up.
“It’s not hers but she did enjoy maintaining it. She worked very closely with the royal gardener to constantly upgrade it to be better. Kind of like what you did today.” Yoongi explained. You nodded your head slowly.
“Keeping it alive and maintained now is the best I can do for her, even after her death. She would not be pleased with me letting all her hard work go to waste. I’m not really good with plants but I’m glad Namjoon and the gardener take care of it. And now you help maintain it too. My mother would have greatly appreciated that.” Yoongi said.
“She sounds like an amazing woman.”
“Hmm.” Yoongi hummed. You mentally scolded yourself, of all topics, why did you have to mention Yoongi’s mother?
“I felt like I lost the opportunity to get to know her better. My father never let her care for me as a normal mother should. He wanted her to care for him only and that was her flaw, constantly kowtowing to him.” Yoongi continued.
“I don’t think it’s a flaw.” You said.
“It’s not a flaw to give up all free will and follow a man, who’s not even loyal to you, like a dog? That you neglect your kid?” Yoongi raised an eyebrow.
“That’s what you saw, Yoongi. I’m not saying you’re wrong, you could be right but was that how she really felt? Did you ever know her true intentions behind her actions? Maybe she never meant for you to feel neglected. I’m sure you had moments with her where she showered you with love.” You said.
“Yes, I had my moments with her. But they were always short lived because my father ruined it. Every time I tried to tell myself she actually loves me, she proves me wrong.” Yoongi’s fists shook.
“What if she was protecting you?” You asked.
CLANG!
Yoongi stood up with such force that the low table of bowls and cutlery flipped over, spilling food remnants all over the floor. You stared at the mess in shock, looking up at Yoongi. He breathed heavily, standing over you.
“Leave.” He warned.
“I’m sorry, Yoongi. I shouldn’t have-”
“I don’t want your apologies. I said leave.” His eyes flashed anger as he shook. You immediately scrambled to your feet and pulled the door open.
“(y/n) nim!” Jimin rushed to you. They had all heard the loud clash but were too afraid of entering the room. You stared at Jimin, lips pressed into a firm line. Turning away from him, you ran to your room.
“(y/n) nim!” Jimin ran after you, leaving Hoseok, Seokjin, Jungkook and Namjoon. Usually, you would have fought back or argued with him but seeing the resentment and anger in Yoongi’s eyes, you knew he was warning you to leave before his temper took over so you decided to make a break for it. You were actually afraid he would hurt you.
“J-Jeonha-” The 4 that remained bowed but all they felt was the silk of their king’s robes brushing against them as he exited the dining room.
“(y/n) nim.” Jimin stood outside your door, knocking softly. He could hear the soft echoes of your sobs. It was like everything was back to the way it was on day 1 when you arrived.
“I-I just n-need to catch m-my b-breath.” You tried to sound okay to Jimin, who didn’t believe you one bit.
“Can I come in?” He asked softly.
“I’d r-rather you n-not.” You croaked from your dark corner in the room. Jimin sighed. He didn’t want to leave your side, he wanted to make sure that you weren’t hurt, he wanted to comfort you and stop your cries. However, he knew that he shouldn’t force you too.
“Please.” He tried for the last time.
“Come.” Your voice was soft but he heard it. Slowly the door creaked open and Jimin came in to see your huddled figure. Immediately, he went to help you up and led you to the bed to lie down.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you.” Jimin whispered. You shook your head, you didn’t want him to feel guilty.
“It’s not your fault. It’s all mine. I shouldn’t have pushed him.” You said.
“What happened?”
“I brought up his mother. And it just escalated too fast.” You explained, regret written all over your face. Jimin softened as your eyes casted down with guilt. He took a clean handkerchief from the cupboard and gently wipe your face of its tears. He didn’t interrupt you and instead continued to listen as you explained what happened in the room.
“Jeonha’s relationship with his mother was always a touchy subject for him. But you didn’t know that.” Jimin spoke.
“But I knew he was getting angry and uncomfortable. And yet, I continued to question him and doubt his feelings, the feelings he had been bottling up since he was a child.” You said.
“That’s one of the reasons he resents Taehyung gun.” Jimin explained.
“What do you mean?”
“You know how Taehyung gun’s mother is. She was bubbly, kind and loving to Taehyung. She didn’t care that he wasn’t crown prince, he was just her son to her. Jeonha hated seeing them together.” Jimin started.
“Jeonha wasn’t wrong in a sense... They did share their moments, like I said, they would be in the garden together. But all it took was for the king to call her and she would just leave jeonha there to stay with him. To jeonha, who was just a child, that was betrayal. Countless times.” Jimin explained.
“And all I did was doubt him.”
“Not true. You were right too. Jeonha didn’t see the fear in his mother’s eyes. She did try to speak up but what good comes out of defying the king. The king who can hurt your child, the crown prince.” Jimin smiled sadly.
“How do you know all this Jimin? Aren’t you about the same age as Yoongi?” You tilted your head.
“My mother worked as one of the queen consort’s servants before me. She saw everything and comforted the queen consort when she was upset.”
“So Yoongi’s mother was trying to protect Yoongi...”
“Yes. The king was very obsessed with the queen consort. He didn’t want to let anyone else her, even his own child. Yes, he had a harem of concubines but he always kept her by his side and never wanted her away for too long. She was someone special to him and he wanted her to only look at him. He was willing to hurt anyone who took her away, jeonha included.” Jimin said.
“Jeonha grew up hating his mother. But a part of him still held to the few memories he had of her. The garden, for example. His mother is also the reason jeonha doesn’t believe in love.” He continued.
“That’s horrible. He must have felt so much hurt and felt all alone.” You hung your head down.
“But I think you staying by his side has changed him.” Jimin lifted your head up with his finger. You stared at him in confusion. He giggled and just wiped your remaining tears.
“Let’s get you washed up.” He helped you stand up and led you to the bathroom. You brushed your teeth and he combed your hair, helping you change out of your hanbok and into sleepwear.
“Wait, Jimin. What did you mean by-”
“Get some rest, (y/n) nim. I’ll see you when the sun rises.” He smiled softly after tucking you into bed.
“Goodnight, Jimin.” You yawned. Jimin exited your room. He stared at your door for a few seconds before he finally was able to turn and walk away.
-
Yoongi stood in his garden, his anger was slowly starting to dissipate. He scoffed, this dinner was supposed to be relaxing and a chance for him to get to know more about where you come from, ending with the both of you taking a walk in the garden with you showing him your new plants and flowers proudly.
But you just had to bring his mother up.
“You always ruin everything.” He said to no one in particular. Well, he was referencing his mother, who wasn’t even alive anymore.
“Why does it always have to end up this way?” Yoongi was now asking himself. He clenched his fists as the resentment for his mother bubbled within him.
However, what caused his anger to fade was that he couldn’t ignore the memory of your eyes and how much fear was in them. As if you were actually afraid that he was going to hurt you.
“I’m sorry, Yoongi. I shouldn’t have-”
You actually apologised to him. He had expected you to argue back or stand against him but all you did was back away with fear and leave as you are told. What was happening to him? There was a dull ache in his chest that was never there before. When you spoke of your Yoongi, why did a new determination to prove that he was the better Yoongi appear?
Yoongi sighed for the nth time. He lifted his head and stared at your window, which was now closed. Were you asleep? Or were you crying?
“I swear.” Yoongi cursed himself. He subconsciously started walking and now found himself standing before your door. Gently, he knocked but there was no reply. He quietly opened the door to see you asleep.
“Yoongi...” You called in your sleep.
“I’m here.” Yoongi whispered. He honestly didn’t know if you were calling him or the other Yoongi but he was going to assume it was him you were calling out to in your sleep.
“Just let me...” He didn’t know what came over him but soon, Yoongi was in your bed, holding you close to him.
“What?” Your eyes shot open in shock, ready to kick the intruder in your bed. But looking down, you saw the locks of blonde. His face pressed into your abdomen as he held you tightly. You felt his tears wetting your night robe and the skin beneath.
“She told me she loved me. But she never came back.”
“I’m sorry, Yoongi.” You said softly, running your fingers through his locks. Even though Yoongi was slowly letting his guard down around you, this was the first time he let all his walls down.
“I’ll never hurt you.” Yoongi looked up at you, moving up so your eyes met at the same level.
“I’ll never hurt you. I promise.” He repeated, cupping your cheek.
“Please don’t be afraid of me. Please.” He cried. You still didn’t respond but you did wipe his tears, drawing his head to your chest as you comforted him. Now you really saw it. You saw Yoongi as a child that was hurt by the world and just wanted someone to be there for him and tell him that he is loved.

I sat there at the family table that was filled with nothing but the sound of cutlery clanging against the plates as everyone ate breakfast in silence. It was my father who finally spoke up first with a, “We’re going to a party this Friday.” No one replied. Father exhaled sharply and placed his cutlery on the plate, bringing is hand up and interlocking his fingers.
“Sumi.” Father called out my name. I sighed and lifted my head up from the food I’ve yet to finish. “Bring your boyfriend. It would be nice to meet him for the first time and make sure you have a promising one.”
I gulped as I nodded slowly. “Yes, father.” I replied quietly as I bit the inside of my cheek.
As I took another bite, I was squeezing every idea I have out of my head. How am I suppose to get a rich boyfriend by Friday? The money that Father gave me to treat my so called boyfriend was used on myself and my own pleasures. I never bothered finding a boyfriend. Despite my parents knowing that, years have passed yet they never stop pestering me about it.
“I have to go now.” I simply said, standing up from my seat and grabbing my tote bag that was hanging on my chair and went out the door.
You would think a rich kid like me would be wearing luxury items and come to school looking stunning and perfect. Well, not exactly. I drove myself to school. Father once asked me if I wanted a driver but I refused since my car was precious to me. The only other person who I could trust my car with was my brother, Lucas.
Speaking of which, I was about to start my car when Lucas suddenly appeared at the window screen, knocking on it. I rolled down the window with the click of a button. “Don’t-”
“Please ride me to school, Sumi.” Lucas begged. I groaned and pinched the bridge of my nose. “No.” I replied sternly. Lucas stopped his feet and whined loudly, practically having the tantrum of a little boy that made me shout, “My god shut up! Why can’t you use your motorbike?!”
Lucas puckered his lips and looked away for a moment before turning back to me, quickly leaning in and putting is head in the car.
“I might have gone racing with it and now it’s spoiled. Father doesn’t know so if you can quickly get me in the damn car.” Lucas cried out.
“Get in.” I admitted defeat with a sigh. “Thank you.” Lucas opened the door to the passenger seat as I started the car and began to drive.
“Didn’t I tell you to stop racing? Firstly it’s fucking racing you could get hurt. Secondly, it’s illegal and could land you in jail.” I spoke out.
Lucas kept silent for moment, probably not sure of what to reply. “You know we need the money. Father doesn’t simply give it to us. I earned one billion from racing last night. It’s how I make a living.” I could only suspire as I shook my head.
Being rich isn’t as perfect as it seemed. It wasn’t a privilege per say. Our family has been fucked up ever since my older brother moved out. Lucas and I have never met him before since he stole my Father’s money and ran away, resulting in his company to go bankrupt before when we were young. Because of him, my father was very strict on money. He wouldn’t give it to us with ease. Which was why I had to lie my way to the money.
I had to use the excuse that I already have a rich boyfriend that could “guarantee me a great future”. It was a terrible idea to lie because now I need to find my way around this and somehow have a boyfriend magically appear at the party.
“Make sure Father doesn’t find out about the motorbike. I’ll literally bring you in my room and kill you wholeheartedly if he knows about this.”
“At least I would die before I get a beating.”
I scoffed at his comment as the trip grew silent. After fifteen minutes, we finally arrived. I parked my car and the two of us walked in school. Just like every other day, a group of girls just had to surround Lucas bearing gifts and showering him with compliments. I felt uncomfortable nonetheless. Luckily, Lucas could sense my irritated aura and was quick to take all the gifts and shove the girls away, allowing me to speak. “Um by the way...”
“What’s up, sis?” Lucas asked while he greeted people in the hallway. “Do you possibly have anyone in your major that could fit the role of a rich boyfriend?” Lucas stopped in his track, making stop behind him as he turned around sharply to face me. “You still haven’t told Father the truth?” Lucas asked with a sigh of disappointment as I hung my head low and nodded.
“I have the same excuse as you, alright? It’s how I make a living.” I retorted back as I reminded him of the conversation we had in the car. Lucas sucked air into his mouth that puffed his cheeks while he looked around the campus and observing any guy he saw on sight. Lucas’s face suddenly lit up and he gaped his mouth open and turned his head to me. “What about Jaehyun? Taeyong? There’s also Johnny.” Lucas said with a mischievous smirk.
“You’re naming every guy on the fraternity.” I deadpanned. “So?”
“Are you dumb? Everyone in the fraternity is taken.” I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Not Johnny though.” I heard Lucas say with confidence, making me slowly tilt my head up.
I copied his wide smirk and folded my arms, leaning in slightly and whispering, “When and where can I meet him?” Lucas chuckled and nodded his head eagerly. “There’s an ice hockey competition tomorrow night. I’m pretty sure the frats are coming to the after party.”
“No need to thank me. I know I’m smart.” Lucas leaned in too and winked playfully. I laughed and punched him in the chest, making him wince in pain but soon recovered.
“Could always count on you, dork.”
Tumblr media
I hate it here.
The same phrase resonated in my head as I scanned my eyes over the party. Partying was not my thing. Never is, and never will.
Despite Lucas knowing that fact, he didn’t hesitate to shove a red cup filled with beer to my chest. I scrunched up my nose as I lifted my chin up to throw a sharp glare at him.
“Come on, get drunk once in awhile. Who knows, maybe Johnny Suh would come save you or some shit.” I cringed at the sight of Lucas downing the beer he had in his cup till it was fully empty.
I placed the cup on a random table and folded my arms while standing firm. Lucas was bobbing his head to the loud piercing music but soon stopped when he felt intimidated by the aura I was radiating. “Just help me find him, Lucas.”
Lucas drew in a long breath and held my wrist. “Okay, okay.” He groaned as he pulled me through the crowd, which was definitely not a pleasant thing when you have strangers bumping into in all directions. Lucas was smart enough to hold me close to him till we ended up in front of a random door.
“Why’re we here?” I entreated as I kept my arm wrapped around Lucas’s. He face palmed before pushing my arm off his and folding his arms while he placed his weight on one leg.
“Since you’ve never been to parties you don’t know this but this room is where the frat guys hang out.” Lucas jerked his head to the direction of the door beside us.
I blinked my eyes rapidly and I pointed my finger towards the door. “You don’t expect me to just go in and ask Johnny Suh, right?”
Lucas gave an exasperated expression. “Do I need to do everything for you? You’re so inexperienced...” With no time to mentally prepare myself, Lucas flung the door open.
The loud chatters that I heard when the door was closed soon died down as all heads were turned to us, clearly with raised brows and weirded out faces as they saw two strangers standing by the door.
I quickly hid by pressing myself against the wall with my head peeping out slightly to see what’s going on.
I definitely saw Johnny in there. But oddly enough, he was sitting at the corner of the room with two girls on both his sides, looking quite annoyed yet kept a blank expression to try pleasing the girls. Which, of course, worked all the time as they constantly swoon over him no matter what he did.
“My sister’s looking for Johnny Suh. Can he come out for a sec?” Lucas called him out. Without hesitation, Johnny stood up from his seat. All eyes turned and followed him as he walked out and Lucas closed the door.
Johnny turned around and saw me pressed against the wall. He glanced sideways towards Lucas before making eye contact with me. “I’ll leave you two to it then.” Lucas gave a light pat on my shoulder and left me and Johnny.
He turned around and gave a thumbs up. I was about to wordlessly signal him to come back but I was stopped when Johnny asked, “What did you call me out for?” He asked in a gentle voice.
I gulped, unable to meet his eyes as I tucked strands of hair behind my ear. “Are you drunk?” I asked. Johnny simply shook his head. “Okay great. Follow me.” I grabbed his wrist and led him to an unoccupied room.
I pushed him in and closed the door behind me. I could tell that Johnny was very confused as to what I was doing. I slide my back down against the door till I hit the ground. “At least it’s quiet here.” I mumbled under my breath.
“Are you going to tell me why I’m here?” Johnny leaned forward and placed his elbows on his knees. “You free on Friday?” Johnny raised an eyebrow in suspicion. “Yes but why?”
I took in a deep breath before saying, “Basically I need you to attend a party with me as a rich boyfriend.” I didn’t get an answer. Johnny only sat there as he stared at me for quite some time.
He pursed his lips into a thin line, racking his fingers through his hair. “Why me?”
“Because you’re the most suitable guy that fits the description of the fake boyfriend I need.” I replied nonchalantly as I stood up and shoved my hands down the pockets of my jeans. “You could ask anyone else.” Johnny added on.
I let out a quiet sigh and looked down to my feet before meeting Johnny’s gaze. “It’s just one night. On Friday. I need to show my father I have a boyfriend. Please.” I begged, walking close to Johnny and leaning in to his face, making him move backwards.
“What do I get in return?” I didn’t answer, looking around and taking time to think of one. I snapped my fingers and grinned widely. “Food. You can enjoy the food there.”
Johnny gave a mirthless laugh. “Food. That’s it?” He slumped his shoulders.
I shook my head vigorously in defense. “Free food, expensive food, delicious food-”
“You’re literally luring me with food.” He let out a half-laugh.
“Yes, yes I am.” I quickly admitted. I leaned in closer as a wide smirk grew on my lips. “But it’s working, isn’t it?”
Johnny exhaled sharply and rubbed the back of his neck. “Could never deny free food. But how am I going to look expensive, per say.” He lifted his fingers up and did quotation marks at the word expensive in the air.
I firmly gripped onto his shoulder and gave it a pat. “Don’t worry. I’ll deal with all that. Let’s meet some time to discuss about the other matter regarding this, alright?” With that, I left the room and closed the door.
I turned around and bounced on my toes, punching fists into the air as I finally got someone to help with my plan. I quickly cleared my throat and adjusted my clothes before squeezing through the crowd to get out of the party.
I flinched at the touch of a hand on my arm that pulled me away from the crowd. I sighed in relief when I noticed it was Lucas.
“Leaving already?” Lucas shouted, though it was drowned out by the background noises. I scrunched up my nose and frowned at the smell of alcohol that filled Lucas’s breath. I grabbed his wrist firmly and nodded my head.
“Yes, I am. And with you.” I tried pulling Lucas out but was easily defeated when he stopped in his tracks and turned to a girl I barely knew. “Sorry, sweetie. Let’s meet next time.” Lucas leaned down and shouted to her before turning back to me with a cheeky smile. “Okay now you can drag me out.” I rolled my eyes and dragged him out of the house, once again having to deal with people coming at us every which way.
We finally reached the front door. I pushed Lucas out before I closed the door behind us. “Finally.” I breathed out as I gasped desperately for air. It was way too stuffy in there due to the many people as well as the only thing that filled the air was the reeking smell of alcohol.
“So what happened with Johnny. Did he accept?” I simply gave a lopsided grin with a lifted brow. Lucas nodded in affirmation as he instantly figured out the answer to his own question by the way I reacted.
“I finally get to settle this boyfriend shit and continue getting money.” I said, me eyes practically twinkling as I envisioned myself doing all sorts of things with the money I’ll get from Father. “I bet the only reason he accepted was because he knows you’re my baby sister.” Half-shrugging, I opened the door to the car and jerked my head to signal Lucas to go in as well.
The drive home was peaceful as I rolled down the window to feel the cool breeze blowing on my face. Luckily I had my hair clipped up so I didn’t have to suffer with tangled locks of hair.
I dropped Lucas off at the west wing house. Just so you know, our mansion is huge. There’s the main house in the center, along with four other houses surrounding it. And those houses are huge. Lucas mostly spent time on his own in the west wing house, that’s why he’s always not seen with me and my parents in the main house to have meals together and such.
I parked my car in front of the north wing house and headed inside, dashing straight for the showers, desperate to get alcohol smell off me immediately.

Time check. Thursday afternoon. I did some research on Johnny and found that he’s majoring in Law. He has a class today which ends late afternoon so I figured of talking to him about the plan once he was done.
I was able to sleep in today since I didn’t have any classes or plans. I laid around in my bed for hours till the clock struck one in the afternoon, forcing me to finally get out of bed.
To my surprise, I met Lucas polishing his helmet in the lounge room of the main house. I decided to eat my lunch there with him. Bringing my plate of leftover fast food from the night I spent shopping, I sat beside Lucas and took a bite. “Aren’t you suppose to get ready to meet Johnny? He ends his class at four.”
I took a quick glance at my phone to check the time. “I have like three hours.” I said nonchalantly as I let my body slouch into the bean bag I was sitting on.
“You take three hours to get ready.” Lucas scrutinized me up and down, looking surprised at my words. “Quit looking at me like that. I’m not going to take long to get ready. I’m not in the mood to look fancy.” I huffed out. Meeting Johnny was my only plan today so I didn’t bother to look good if I’m only going to be spending a short time out.
I hung out with Lucas till I was done with my food and realised that it was three and decided to get ready. I bid Lucas goodbye while he shouted a “Goodluck!” in exchange before I made me way to my room.
I didn’t take long to get ready since all I did was used light makeup and made a quick decision of wearing a white long sleeved turtle neck under a brown checkered vest along with a dark brown skirt and white platform sneakers. I picked out a random bag and shoved my necessities into it and headed out.
Thanks to Lucas, I was able to get Johnny’s phone number and texted him saying that I’ll reach in ten minutes. He was quick to reply and informed me that he was still in class. I replied back, telling him that I’ll be at the cafe beside campus. He left me on seen but I shrugged, not bothering about it too much despite it being my pet peeve since I knew he was in class.
I entered the cafe and ordered a cup of iced tea. I didn’t buy a drink for Johnny since I didn’t know what he liked and didn’t want to take any chances and waste my money if he doesn’t what I ordered. After playing about two rounds of COD Mobile’s Battle Royale, I heard the bell above the cafe’s door ring, telling me that someone has entered. Being too concentrated in the game, I didn’t realise a figure sitting in front of me till he knocked his knuckles against the table a few times. I looked up to find Johnny placing his bag behind him before turning to me.
“You can order a drink first if you want.” I said with subtle smile. Johnny shook his head, leaning forward with his elbows against the edge of the table. “Eh it’s fine.”
I hooked my feet around the chair legs and pulled myself closer to the table, setting my palms faced down flat on the table. “Okay let’s go over a few things.”
“Firstly, I assume you have a suit because you’re a law major.” I took a sip of my iced tea as I saw Johnny nod and kept silent, motioning me to continue. “Secondly, the fake identity I came up for you is that you’re the son of the CEO of a well known major company in France and you earn money by renting out buildings that are worth millions. How’s that?”
Johnny didn’t answer, puckering his lips as stretched his neck by tilted his head to the side. “Don’t you think that’s too far fetched?”
I let out a ‘tsk’ as I reviewed it in my head, nodding my head slowly the more I thought about it. “But since you’re working in France I can make up the excuse that we’re doing long distance and you’re only visiting here for a short period to come to the party.” I said, adding on with a, “That way, you won’t have to do this again.” I gave a half shrug, bringing my drink in front of me and leaning down to take another sip, this time with keeping the straw in the mouth.
“That’s actually smart.” Johnny mumbled, snatching my drink and taking a sip, earning a raised brow and creased forehead from me. “I figured we should start getting comfortable now if we want to seem like a real couple to your parents.” He commented.
“You really are the perfect rich boyfriend I need.” I said with a wide mischievous smirk. Johnny chuckled and leaned back into his chair, folding his arms. “Sure. But I want money too. Not just the food.” A bright smile adored his face.
“I’ll give you anything if we get this done.”
Tumblr media
Friday came with the blink of an eye. The party starts at seven and I decided to skip class today. Being rich meant that my parents don’t care about what I do, as long as I keep their image clean. I’ve always done well in my academics so it didn’t hurt to skip once in awhile.
While I ate breakfast, or rather lunch now that it’s afternoon, and scrolled through social media, I suddenly remembered one important thing I’ve forgotten to discuss with Johnny. I quickly sent him a text message.
[2:46PM] Sumi: wAit btw do you have a car to drive me to the venue?
I didn’t get an immediate reply so I simply continued scrolling through twitter. While reading the news, a notification of Johnny popped up.
[3:07PM] Johnny: I can borrow one, don’t worry. Just text me when to pick you up.
I heaved a sigh of relief and nodding, leaving his text on read and placed my phone screen down on the table and continued to eat while I admired the garden through the full wall window.
I spent my day peacefully by binge watching my show Netflix that I was two episodes away from finishing. Just when I thought I could accomplish my mission of completing the series, I looked at the time and groaned. “I’m too lazy to get ready.” After constantly whining and rolling around in bed, I finally got up and headed over to my walk in closet.
Once again, I didn’t bother to try hard finding something to wear. I only grabbed the first clothing item on sight that caught my eye, which was a dark blue long dress with skinny straps a low cut neckline. It had silver embellishments all over and because of that, it meant that I didn’t have to wear a bunch of jewellery to make it look expensive.
I threw it on and wore light makeup that allowed my natural beauty to shine through, along with a silver necklace that had a star hung on it and white high heels. I finally paired it with a white sling bag and shoved my necessities in.
I sent a text to Johnny that he can come to my house now to pick me up. He was quick to reply with an, “Okay.” as I made my way from the north wing house and to the main house where Johnny could pick me up so as to not confuse him with the complex structure of the mansion.
I ended up waiting at least twenty minutes at the pick up roundabout when I finally saw a car driving in through the entrance and coming to a stop in front of me. I saw Johnny in the driver’s seat and quickly went in the car.
“Can you send me the address?” He asked while I tried to get comfortable. “Oh yeah, sorry. Hold on.” Johnny had once hand on the steering wheel while the other was placed on his thigh. Sure enough, he looked high class in the grey suit he had, along with a dark blue tie that coincidentally matched my dress and hair that was slicked back handsomely.
While I was texting him the postal code, I froze in my spot when Johnny suddenly got close to me and reached his hand out to the side of my seat. I blinked my eyes as I tilted my phone down. I was pretty sure my breathing stopped for a second due to how close he was as I got a clear look of his side profile that looked nothing but stunning. I would be lying is I said my heart didn’t skip a beat at his little action as he fastened the seatbelt for me.
Once I’ve sent him the address, Johnny started the car and began to drive. It was silent for a moment until Johnny cleared his throat, making my gaze from the window and to him. “I’m actually kind of nervous. I honestly wouldn’t know what to say and all, depsite me knowing my role.”
I hummed and fiddled with the strap on my dress. “It’s fine. I’ll do the talking. Just be as formal as possible.” I advised him as a way to comfort him with a shrug. I tried to act as calm as possible to some what help Johnny feel the same.
Johnny turned to glance at me, noticing I kept looking out the window. “Should I open the window for you? It’ll be better an air conditioning.” I nodded with glee. “Thanks. I actually like it when the windows are down.” I said as Johnny pushed the button that rolled the window down.
The moment I felt the cold breeze on my face, I sighed in satisfaction. Though that feeling didn’t last long as my hair stared to fly everywhere. I could already tell I needed to handle my messy tangled hair after this. Breathing in the night air, I looked to Johnny who stole a quick glance at me. “I know, my hair’s ugly. I’ll fix it later.”
Johnny doesn’t answer as we finally arrived at the entrance of the party. Johnny’s jaw dropped at the looked at the huge and tall building. I laughed at his reaction and poked his shoulder with my finger, jerking my head towards his window. Johnny flinched back at the sight of a guy waiting outside the car. “Give him the keys and he’ll drive the car to the parking area.” I said and stepped out. Johnny stepped out as well as quickly handed the guy his car keys before running up to me.
“Holy shit this looks is so grand...” Johnny muttered to me. I chuckled as I slid my phone into my sling bag. Johnny then grabbed my arm and linked it with his. I looked up to him, twitching a brow. “What? Isn’t this what couples do?” He asked, copying the expression I had on my face. I exhaled sharply and pulled mysef close to him till our sides were touching.
Johnny suddenly turned around and looked down on me. “The hair.” He painted out. Before I could do anything about it, he leaned in and brushed my hair through his fingers gently as he got rid of the tangles in my hair. Once again I froze in my spot as I tried my best to hide the heat I felt on my cheeks.
“Okay, let’s go in.” At the same time, me and Johnny pushed our shoulders back and stood strong as we walked into the party.
Tumblr media
“Can you not look so nervous? It’s scaring me.” I whispered while watching Johnny play with his glass of wine, swirling the liquid in his hand. I saw beads of sweat dripping down the side of his face. I decided to take a cloth from my sling bag and dapped it off gently.
“If we’re lucky, we might not even see Father because he’ll be too busy talking to other people. He might also forget that he wanted to meet you.” I didn’t hear Johnny reply. I look up from my drink to see him staring behind me. I turned around and my eyes immediately darted to the man who stood out from the crowd, suddenly walking towards us.
“I’m guessing that’s your father.” I quickly turned around and duck my head low, thinking I would be able to hide but couldn’t since Father already saw me and called out my name. “Sumi!” Father called out. I placed a hand on Johnny’s arm and patted it. “Okay let’s chill.” I whispered, taking in deep breaths to calm myself down. Before Johnny could say anything else, I turned back around to meet Father with a wide smile.
Father hummed in response, his eyes immediately going to Johnny and scanned him up and down. Johnny looked at me as if he was asking for help and I could only mouth out, “Greet him.”
“Good evening, sir. I’m Johnny, Sumi’s boyfriend.” Johnny introduced himself as he adjusted his blazer and buttoned it up smoothly. Despite looking so nervous a moment ago, I was shocked at how well he was acting. Father gave a half-smile and nodded his head. “So this is him I see...” Father muttered under his breath. “He can’t stay for long since he lives in France and needs to resume work soon.” I added on, linking my arm around Johnny’s and glanced up to see Johnny looking as calm as ever.
“Ah so what do you do in France?”
“Rent out my properties, sir.”
Father cleared his throat and glanced sideways. “I’m guessing you earn enough for yourself?” Johnny laughed gently and nodded. “Of course, sir. More than enough me and Sumi.”
I could only hold my breath and I wondered how long this conversation would last. As Johnny noticed my nerve wrecking state, Johnny quickly spoke up. “I think you have some business men that are willing to talk to you at the back there. They came up to me asking where you were.” Johnny said swiftly. “Till next time, then. I hope you’ll stay longer here before going back to France.”
“Of course, sir. Have a great evening.” With that, Father finally turned around and disappeared into the crowd. Both Johnny and I let out sighs of relief and taking in deep breaths before looking at each other. “Like hell is Johnny gonna stay here any longer.” I muttered as I glared. Johnny laughed at my action and shook his head. “Now where’s the food?” Johnny with desperation, his head turning in all directions. I giggled and held his hand, tilting my head to where the catering area was.
Johnny’s mouth gaped as open as it can be just like when he first saw the building from outside. He immediately dashes over to the dessert area. I adjusted my dress before going to him. “Don’t you want to have a proper dinner?” I asked, my hand motioning over to area where proper meals were handed out. Johnny shook his head with glee as he grabbed a few macorons and shoving it into his mouth all at once. I chuckled and took one as well, taking a bite out of it before grabbing a plate from the side and handing it to him. “Put what you want here and we can eat somewhere else.”
Johnny didn’t hesitate to take one of every dessert that was offered, especially macarons in every colour. Once he was done, he turned to me with his mouth still full from all the items he shoved in. I nodded my head and guided him out of the party and to a garden.
Johnny and I sat down on a bench that gave a clear view of the night sky. Since the venue was up a hill, we could practically see the whole city from up here. I breathed in the night air and sighed in satisfaction before turning to Johnny who was still eating. I took one of the desserts and ate them. “Don’t eat all those by yourself.” I complained, letting out a ‘tsk’ after and rolling my eyes. Johnny offered a dessert and I ate it wholeheartedly. “If this is what I have to do as your boyfriend, I’d gladly do this all the time. Just call me and I’ll be there.” Johnny said as he swallowed what he ate and hummed happily.
“I told you the food here is good.” I said with a laugh as I watched Johnny ate. He left a few desserts on the plate and placed it beside him before putting his arm on the back of the bench and turning on me. “Say... Why don’t you get an actual rich boyfriend? Why do you need to lie?” Johnny asked me with his gentle and sweet voice.
I pursed my lips into a thin line, taking in a deep breath before answering. “My father doesn’t give me and Lucas money even though we’re rich. The only way I could get it is if I say I have a rich boyfriend and pamper him with money so that I can live a comfortable life.” Johnny gave a frown and leaned back into the bench. “But why not get a real boyfriend?”
“Because I want the money for myself only. I’m not interested in dating and shit.” I said as I turned to Johnny, my eyes widening as I noticed Johnny looking at me intensively as if he was scanning his eyes down every inch of my face. He was quick to shale his head and acted as though he wasn’t looking at me.
“And Lucas does illegal racing...” Johnny muttered as I nodded my head. I leaned forward and rested my chin on the palm of my hand, closing my eyes to rest them for a moment. I felt Johnny moving around in his seat, not sure of what he was doing till I felt a hand on the side of my head, guiding it. I looked up to find my head resting on Johnny’s shoulder with him looking straight ahead. He looked down on me and gave a gentle smile. “You seem tired so.” Johnny shrugged.
“Thanks.” I whispered. The two of us sat there, silently admiring each other’s comfort. I closed my eyes and seemingly fell asleep as I found the comfort of Johnny’s presence and the cold air blowing on me.
After awhile, I finally woke up. I rubbed my eyes vigorously and looked around, realising I was in Johnny’s car in front of my house. Johnny turned to me when he heard me sniffle. “You were asleep for quite some time, miss.” Johnny said, moving towards me and once again getting extremely close to me as he released the seatbelt on me. I cleared my throat. I noticed Johnny didn’t have his blazer on him. I looked down and saw that it covered me like a blanket. “You can keep it. It must be cold outside. Quickly get in and sleep, alright?”
I nodded my head and got out of the car. Before turning away and walking in, I bent down slightly to meet Johnny’s eyes. “Thank you.” I said out loud, despite knowing Johnny couldn’t hear me through the window. He bowed his head before starting the car and driving away. I watched the back of the car till it was out of sight.
I got in and did my usual routine of washing up. As I got into bed and started playing with my phone, my eyes slowly went to Johnny’s blazer that was sitting at the edge of my bed. I grabbed it and held it out in the air, tilting my head as I thought about the night I spent with Johnny. I couldn’t help but think about how comfortable I felt with him. I felt like Cinderella at the ball. He was gentle, sweet and caring. He was like a perfect boyfriend to have. Too bad our relationship was only an act, and nothing more as the moment I stepped into my home, all the magic I felt that night disappeared into thin air.
Tumblr media
I just finished class and as I was walking down the hall to get to the parking lot. I saw Johnny coming out from one of the meeting rooms. I ran towards him and tapped his shoulder from behind, making him turned around to look down at me. “Hey Johnny!” I exclaimed, waving at him.
Johnny smiled happily. “Hey.” He greeted back, placing his phone into the back pocket of his jeans. “What’re you doing here? You don’t have classes today if I recall.” I said as I recalled the information from the research I did on Johnny. “You really did a thorough check on me, didn’t you?” I laughed and nodded my head with a shrug of my shoulders.
“I had a meeting with the frat.” Johnny jerked his head to the direction of the meeting room. “Anyways I’m glad to run into you here. Do you have plans today?” Johnny looked up into the sky with furrowed eyebrows before tilting his head back down and shaking his head. “I don’t think so. Why?”
“Great! I just got money from my father and I want to treat you out as a thanks for last Friday.” I pulled out my wallet and waved it in front of it. Johnny snatched it out of my hands and opened my wallet only to have his jaw drop and at the amount of money inside. “How much did he give you exactly?” Johnny widened his eyes as he brought my wallet closer to his face.
I had to tiptoe to I snatch my wallet back due to the drastic height difference between me and Johnny and took out the money from my wallet. “Eh about five thousand.” I shoved the money back in. Johnny leaned in to look at my wallet once again. “No wonder it looks so thick.” He muttered. I laughed and smacked him lightly in the shoulder. “I’m at your service to grant you whatever you want.” I faked a curtsy and grinned. “Hm I have a place we could go.” Johnny said with a finger on his chin.
I ended up taking Johnny to a cafe of some sort. It wasn’t too expensive and it wasn’t too cheap either. “Why here when you can literally spend five thousand dollars on anything else?” I asked as Johnny opened the door for me and we both went in. “To be honest, I’d feel bad for spending your money so I just thought of spending time with you.” I subconsciously eyed him up and down, causing Johnny’s grin to become more cheeky.
While Johnny and I were looking up at the menu above the counter, my eyes scanned the cafe as well, until one person that caught my eye wnd made me do a double. “For fuck’s sake why is she here?!” I whispered as I started to slap Johnny’s arm rapidly, causing him to fly back. “Are you okay? You crazy or something?” Johnny joked with a big laugh.
“No, you idiot! Look!” I pointed to the girl sitting by the window with another man. “She’s my cousin and I don’t want her to see me because she’s always trying picking a fight.”
“Let’s go out then?” I nodded desperately as I linked my arm with Johnny’s. Just as we were about to take the first step. I heard my name being called out. Oh God.
“Sumi. Nice seeing you here.” She said with the most fakest voice and smile I’ve ever head. “Thought you were in Sydney?” I asked, offering to give a half-smile as the bare minimum.
“Well I’ve done my business there so I’m back.” She replied, folding her arms as she turned to Johnny and eyed him intensely. I furrowed my eyebrows in annoyance. “Who’s this fine man?” She asked in a seductive manner, bringing her hand up to Johnny’s shoulder and grazing her finger over it as she admired his face.
As Johnny started to feel uncomfortable, he faked a smile and shoved her hand away, proceeding to wrap his arm around my waist and pulling me close. “Sumi’s boyfriend.” He announced, completely not fazed by my cousin’s flirting. Of course I couldn’t help but blush at his words as I suddenly felt embarrassed and felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
My cousin nodded her head slowly, glancing at me and noticing how awkward I looked. I saw the look of suspicion in her face and immediately tried to stay as calm and natural as possible. Though that didn’t work out much as my cousin suddenly said, “Doesn’t look like it to me.”
“Well we are together. I’m totally taken. Actually we have somewhere to be so if you’ll excuse us.” Johnny bowed his head slightly and removed his arm from my waist, proceeding to grab my hand and interlocking our fingers and pulled me out swiftly.
“That was terrifying.” I ran a hand through my hair. Realising my hand was still interlocked with Johnny’s, I tried pulling away, thinking that it made Johnny uncomfortable. But he held my hand tighter the moment I tried to let go.
“Let’s continue to hold hands in case she comes out or s-something.” Johnny’s stuttering in the end really made it clear to me that it was just an excuse. I chuckled and nodded my head. “Sure thing.” I said with a playful wink.
“Besides, I actually like pretending to be your boyfriend. Sumi’s boyfriend. It sounds good whenever I say it. Ah I’m impressed with myself.” Johnny sighed dreamily as he began to walk. Though, I couldn’t.
I was completely frozen and my mind went blank at his words. I’m pretty sure my face was blushing a brighter pink now as it felt more heated than before. I bit my lip before looking up at him when he called my name. “You comin’?” I shook my head to get rid of my thoughts of Johnny, giving him a smile before skipping forward. “Let’s.”
After that day, Johnny and I began to get close. Very close, and very quickly. And to think this fake dating only lasted for that one night. It was obvious after the many secret hangouts we’ve done that we liked each other, a lot. Arcade dates, amusement parks, trying out every ice cream store in the city, you name it.
Unfortunately, we had to keep this all secret. Which meant we couldn’t post on social medias and we had to be cautious whenever we go out. Regardless, we still had fun spending time together. I was able to lie to Father for more than a year now.
Slowly but surely, our fake dating scheme became more and more real. That is until one major problem that I expected to come have finally arrived.
Tumblr media
“This man... He isn’t like what he seems, am I right?” I didn’t answer.
All of a sudden, we were here. With Johnny standing in front of Father while Lucas stood beside him. Along with my cousin who was smugly looking at the situation in front of her. Johnny and I hung our heads low, unable to give Father an answer.
“Father don’t blame it on him. I’m the one who asked him to do this. I did this so you can continue giving me money.” I explained, trying my best to get Johnny out of this mess.
I couldn’t help but take a quick glance at my cousin. How did Father find out you ask? My cousin caught me going out with Johnny despite me telling Father that “he was already in France”. I glared at her as she giggled under her breath. That bitch.
“You did it for money? Okay, you want money? Go to Sydney. Work for your cousin and earn the money yourself.”
I gulped, lifted my head up and turning to my cousin, who squealed with excitement as she stomped her feet. “Really, Uncle Kang? I’d love to have her with me in Sydney!” She shouted, though I could sense her devil like nature the moment Father looked away to Johnny and giving me a wide smirk.
“Sir, that’s not necessary. Don’t send her away. I promise I won’t go near her again.” Johnny begged with his palms pressed together. I bit my lower lip hard as I balled my hand into a first.
“Johnny has nothing to do with this. Don’t make him beg.” I growled. Father let out a scoff in amusement as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants.
“I’m sending you away regardless. And you’ll find a better partner there in Sydney. Understood?!” Father’s sudden raise in tone made everyone jump out of their skins in terror.
“Fuck you, Father.” I cursed out, grabbing Johnny’s wrist tightly. As soon as I wanted to drag him out, the two bodyguards that were standing at the entrance removed my grasp of Johnny, holding him back.
“Pack your things. You’re flying tonight.” Father said before exiting the scene. Johnny was dragged out of the house. And I was held back by Lucas.
After that night, I never got to see Johnny again. I cried for days on end while I made my trip to Sydney, wondering when will I ever meet him again, or if I even could.
Tumblr media
3 years later.
Finising work at eleven due to my cousin bossing me around to do useless things made me reach my limit of exploding in anger. I could have thrown a table at her if I wanted to but I was too kind for that. I was just glad I was able to come home and lay myself head first into my bed.
Opening the door, I was greeted by Winwin watching the television. “Hey!” He shouted, wanting to wave his hand at me but chose not to as he saw the look of anger and tiredness in my face, along with my slouched back and weak movements. “Jee did she give you a hard time again?” He asked, pressing the controller to pause whatever he was watching.
I dragged my feet to the couch, throwing my bag on the table and taking the empty spot next to Winwin. “She fucking puts me through hell almost everyday.” I hissed, running my hand through my hair in frustration. “Deep breasts, Sumi. Deep breasts.” Winwin joked, making me laugh. It was an inside joke me and Winwin came up with and it never failed to elevate the atmosphere.
“Shut the fuck up.” I said as I laughed harder and punched him in the shoulder. Suddenly, a notification came up on my phone as the clock struck twelve. I unlocked it to check what it was. My smile quickly turned into a frown as I saw the alert on my calendar that today is Johnny’s birthday.
Winwin saw my drastic change in mood. From being pissed, to laughing and now being quiet and sad. He placed a hand my back, rubbing up and down slowly as I kept my eyes on words on the screen, the words resonated in my head.
“It’s been three years, Sumi. Despite all that, I’m sure he hasn’t forgotten you.” I could only suspire in despair.
“If only I could have any form of communication with him. What if he sees the news of us getting married? Fucking hell all this is fucked up.” I slammed my phone screen down beisde me and pressed my hands on my face as I couldn’t hold back the tears that welled up in my eyes.
“As your fiancé and friend, I suggest you fuck whatever your father’s making you do and go back to him. I hate seeing you like this, Sumi. It hurts.” Winwin whispered.
When I reached Sydney three years ago, Father didn’t hesitate to force me to get engaged to Winwin, an actual rich man who is the heir of a large company. We were only engaged for the connection of two big companies and nothing more. Nonetheless, he was a good friend to stayed with me through all my hurtful days and hardships while I grieved about my separation with Johnny.
I sniffled and gulped before bringing my head up to look at Winwin. “But how? Father tracks my every move in my phone. My location, who I text and call. What I post on my socials. I can’t escape him.” I bit my lower lip as I ran a hand down my face, waniting to wipe off my tears but of course it was to no avail as the tears couldn’t stop flowing down.
“No. Fuck all that. Contact him. And run away once you’re with him. Whatever happens, I’ll be the one to settle it for you, okay?” My lips quivered as I forced a smile and bringing Winwin in for a hug.
“Thank you, so much. You’re a great friend. I’m sure you’ll find someone who’ll appreciate you.” I whispered as I took my time to admrie his embrace, being the only thing that brought me comfort.
Tumblr media
With that, I texted Johnny through Instagram. I knew Father would see our conversation but at this point, I didn’t give a damn. I’ve been wanting Johnny for three years. I missed him way too much I couldn’t handle it no more.
I informed Johnny on the very same night that I’ll fly to Paris and meet him there, so that we could stay there for a couple of months before flying back. Luckily, he was down for the idea. Though I was scared that Father would already know my location, I didn’t care. I’d fly to any country with Johnny and not have him find out. I’ll go through such extends just to have Johnny by my side again.
The next day, I booked a flight and packed every single one of my belongings. I bid Winwin a last warm farewell before I headed to the airport. I was extremely cautious about the fact that I might get caught since Father’s bodyguards could be anywhee near me, which is why I tried to be as discreet as possible.
I finally got into the plain without any slip ups. I absentmindedly looked out the window as I thought about Johnny. Over three years, of course I’d expect him to be different. But how different? Did he change much? Anything can change within three years.
I couldn’t fall asleep with my thoughts of Johnny running circles in my mind the whole flight. Soon, we finally landed.
I didn’t tell Johnny where to meet him in the airport specifically since I forgot. I was about to text him when I suddenly hear people shouting at the entrance. I turned my head to see the Father’s bodyguards asking everyone if they’ve seen the girl in the paper they held up in the air.
I widened my eyes at the sight and immediately panicked. Of course Father would have some connections here in Paris. Why was I so dumb to forget such an information? I wasted no time to act calm and brisk walk as far away as I could, though their voices became louder and louder as they got closer.
I looked back to check where they were and as I was about to turn and walk forward, I was slammed against the wall. I looked up and gaped my mouth open in shock.
“Johnny? I-”
I was quickly cut off when Johnny’s lips connected to mine, his arm wrapping around my waist while his other hand was against the wall. I couldn’t resist and kissed him back wholeheartedly. I missed his touch too mucb. I missed this feeling that I could only feel whenever I’m with him.
Johnny held me close till the bodyguards went past us, luckily they didn’t seem to even spare a glance our way. I was the first to pull back from that kiss that was about to get heated quick, gasping for air.
“I waited for you, for so long.” Johnny breathed out, tucking the messy strands of hair that covered my forehead behind my ears.
“I missed you more. I missed you so fucking much.” I hugged him tightly, digging my face into his chest as my tears started streaming down my cheeks again, leaving a wet spot on Johnny’s white shirt. He cupped my cheeks in his hands and brought my head up to look at him.
“Sh... I’m here, okay? I’m here now.” I sucked my lips in as I clsoed my eyes for a moment.
“I don’t care where we go next. As long as I’m with you. Please stay right by my side and never let anything cut between us again.”
Johnny nodded with his gentle smile. The one I missed dearly, and the one that never failed to put an impact on me.
“I will. I promise. Because I love you.”

Summer Breeze
Pairing: Sugawara x Fem!Reader
Summary: Sugawara decided to take a break from his teaching duties and decided to go on a vacation but he didn't expect to meet the love of his life.
Warning: Time skip spoilers or smthng, ANGST, fluff and implied smut
Tumblr media
"Please don't go Sugawara sensei!" The little boy started to cry while hugging his teacher's leg, Sugawara looked at him with loving eyes and patted his head. "I'm not leaving any of you, i'll be away just for a month!" The small boy whined and his grip tightened on Sugawara's leg, the substitute teacher tried her best to calm the kid down and gave an apologetic look. "I'll take care of them Sugawara-san, you can pack your things." They both bowed and Sugawara made his way towards his desk. After collecting his notebooks and documents, he grabbed the keys of his car and started to drive towards his apartment.
Sugawara loved his job, there wasn't a day that he wanted to quit but lately, he just wanted to get some fresh ocean air and see new things so he booked a flight to Turkey - İzmir. The country was popular with its foods, touristic destinations, and kindhearted people.
Opening the door to his apartment Sugawara made his way towards his bedroom, he found his suitcase and started to pack. After everything was organized, it was time for a cup of creamy coffee, he made his way towards the small kitchen and waited for the milk to heat up, then his phone started to buzz on the counter. It was one of his close friends 'Daichi Sawamura' a small smile formed on his face and he answered with a soft "Hello?" He heard his friend sigh "Are you ready to leave Suga, do you need help?" He was grateful for the friends he had "No, thank you Daichi I'm ready." Daichi huffed and smiled "Asahi and I'll come to get you tomorrow, ok?" After talking about this and that Sugawara leaned on the kitchen counter and started to think about his vacation. He was a grown man yet, even the thought of flying abroad gave him butterflies.
-
"Are you ready to go?" Asahi smiled while fastening his seatbelt, Sugawara nodded and his eyes met Daichi's on the rear mirror. "Let's go then." After driving for 50 minutes, they finally saw the big airport. Sugawara's heart started to beat faster, there wasn't any particular reason, he was excited. He checked his luggage and approached the lady to learn the number of his flight gate. "A flight to Turkey - İzmir, right sir?" He gave a warm smile and nodded "Here you go." He thanked the lady and made his way to his friends, Daichi patted his back and Asahi gave him a soft smile "Don't worry about us Sugawara, you deserved this vacation, enjoy it to the fullest." He nodded "Don't worry Asahi-san I will be safe." The trio smiled at each other and Sugawara walked towards the gates while waving at his friends.
(Time skip cuz I don't wanna waste time with the whole transportation thing)
"Here's your card sir room 505, hope you enjoy your stay here!" He bowed and thanked the receptionist and waited for the elevator, the hotel was clean and bright. He carefully opened the door and a room with light grey walls and white furniture welcomed him the room was neat and smelled like soap, he immediately made his way towards the shower and took a pair of clean clothes. He took off his wrinkly clothes and let the warm water hit his pale skin. He never felt so relaxed and so far away from everything else. Usually, he was a social butterfly but being away from the air of the busy city and the crowd was refreshing. When he was done, he wrapped a towel around his waist, he was currently at a district called 'Alaçatı' he wanted to explore the streets so he quickly put on a shirt and a pair of shorts with white flip-flops. He quickly grabbed his wallet, a map, cellphone, the room's card and quickly made his way towards the reception.
The streets were small and every single building was so cute painted with either blue, pink or white. There were small shops here and there, the time flew by with tasting the foods and looking for souvenirs for his friends. Then he came across a small grocery store and saw the shiny red apples, they looked so tasty and he reached one without thinking but his hand touched a small one. He lifted his head and his hazel eyes met with shy e/c ones. There was a woman, standing in a beautiful white dress, hair flowing with the wind, cheeks tinted with a little bit of pink. Sugawara got nervous and bowed "I'm sorry, please go ahead." He smiled and the woman turned her head to the apples and slowly picked them one by one, Sugawara watched her small form and his eyes caught the cute beach hat with a small daisy attached to it. Her eyes met with his again and he noticed that he was staring the whole time, his cheeks started to burn and before he can apologize, the woman raised her hand and made her way towards to the cashier. Sugawara raised his eyebrow and waited for the woman, she paid for the apples and approached him with two small paper bags and offered one to him. His eyes widened "Oh, you didn't have to pay, that was so rude of me!" He bowed and just when he was about to mutter his apologies again, he heard her soft giggles. "It's okay." Her eyes were soft and shiny, despite being shy her eyes looked excited and filled with happiness. "I noticed an accent, are you perhaps a tourist?" Sugawara quickly nodded and smiled "Yeah, I came from Japan! Oh, please let me carry those paper bags." He carefully took the bags from her hands and both of them started to walk randomly.
"Oh, I always wanted to see Japan!" The woman smiled and looked at the sky. "My name is Y/n by the way." He smiled "Koushi Sugawara, I'm 27 and I came here for a break, I'm a teacher." Her eyes sparkled with interest "A teacher huh, that's amazing. I always loved kids. I'm 24 and I'm interested in music." He hummed while taking an apple, just when he was about to take a bite, he remembered that he needed to was it "You don't need to wash those, people usually sell the things they raise themselves, it doesn't have weird chemicals on it trust me." She giggled and Sugawara scratched the back of his neck "Ah, I see. So do you play any instruments?" She nodded and an excited look formed on her face, Sugawara smiled at her reactions and paid attention to the conversation. Despite being an adult she was so pure and enthusiastic it was pretty cute. "How long are you gonna stay here Mr.Sugawara?" She asked and he shook his head "Please, just call me Sugawara. I'm staying here for a month." Her eyes sparkled "I'm happy for you! Alaçatı is the perfect place to get your mind off of things, maybe I'll play my violin for you sometime! Oh... Sorry if I'm pestering you." He quickly shook his head "No of course not, I'm actually quite happy that I found someone to talk to, if it's okay with you I'd like to exchange numbers."
She smiled and gave him a nod "Sure, let's keep in touch!" After walking on the small streets, a comfortable silence filled the air. "Do you live here or are you here for vacation too Y/n?" Her smile disappeared and her lips formed a thin line but she quickly recovered and shook her head "No, I don't live here I came here for... fresh air, yeah." Sugawara realized the hesitance in her tone and decided not to pester her "Oh I see, how long are you gonna be here?" She looked at the paper bag in her hands and smiled "Well as long as I'm alive." His eyes widened in shock and their eyes met, then she burst out laughing "Pftt- That was so dramatic right, you should see your face right now!" Was she serious or joking, he couldn't understand but since she was laughing he decided to go along with it and started to laugh "Yeah, you scared me for a second." She tried to calm down her giggles and apologized "Sorry, sorry!" Then she started to cough heavily and Sugawara lightly patted her back "Oh! Would you like some water Y/n?" She waved her hands and shook her head but her coughs got heavier and Sugawara started to panic, just when he was about to suggest something else to help, she interwined her fingers with his and started to take deep breaths, his ears started to get red but he tried to keep his cool. It looked like she was exercising, her forehead was slightly sweating so he took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat, a small smile appeared on her lips and she opened her eyes. Her eyes met with worried hazel orbs "Y/n, are you okay?" She nodded "It's just a small cold, don't worry!" Her cheery attitude managed to convince him but there was a feeling that bothered Sugawara. "You need to rest, please let me walk you home this is a small place after all." He gave her a charming small and her heart fluttered in her chest, how can she refuse him? "But i don't want you to get tired, you are here for a break." He shook his head and grinned "Well, you are my tour guide now so you need to feel better." She gave him a surprised look and Sugawara rubbed the back of his neck "I think this is all fate, wanting the same apple then exchanging numbers and all... why don't we enjoy our time here together?" Sugawara's eyes glinted with hope and Y/n couldn't do anything besides nodding. He gave her a wide grin "Yaaaay, then lead me to your house, Ms.Y/n!"
"Thank you for walking me home Sugawara, would you like some lemonade? It's pretty hot." He nodded and took off his shoes. She led him to her open kitchen, there was a small kitchen island and white cupboards with a grey sink. The house was small but surprisingly refreshing "Oh the inner design is pretty." He complimented and Y/n walked towards the fridge, grabbing a jug of fresh lemonade then a plate filled with some tasty sugar cookies. "Please have some, it will cool you down." He thanked her for the food, then the sweet liquid hit his tongue, leaving a fresh aroma. "Wow, it really is refreshing!" She gave him a toothy smile and grabbed a cookie "Open up Mr.Sugawara." His eyes widened and the poor man choked on his lemonade, Y/n gave a hearty laugh and watched the poor man desperately trying to compose himself. His cheeks were a deep shade of red, just like the apples. "Omg, you really are choking!" She patted his back and tried to contain her giggles from escaping her mouth but failed. When Sugawara finally managed to compose himself, he started to chuckle. "Sorry for startling you, sensei." He cleared his throat and started to fan his face, with his hand "Please stop that." She chuckled and nodded "Ok, ok enough teasing."

"Oh, she seems like a nice person." Daichi's voice echoed through the hotel room, Sugawara was currently on a facetime call with his friends, Asahi and Daichi. He was telling them about the events that occurred this morning. "Yeah, she is actually I was-" just when he was about to speak a notification popped up on his screen and he saw your name "She texted me!" Suddenly he snatched the immobilized phone on his desk "Calm down Sugawara!" Daichi and Asahi started to laugh, all of a sudden he started to feel like a high school boy. He read the text aloud for his friends to hear
Y/n: Good evening Sugawara! Would you like to accompany me to the beach tomorrow? The water is so clean and shiny here.
"I think you should go." Asahi voiced his opinion and Daichi nodded "Of course I'm gonna go!" They both chuckled and Sugawara's fingers started to type a fast reply
Sugawara: Sure, that would be great! I'll pick you up from your house at 10:00 am!
"Yeah that reply is good, be a gentleman." He rolled his eyes and puffed his cheeks "I'm always a gentleman, Daichi!" then a message from you got his attention and he shushed his friends
Y/n: No no! You don't need to pick me up, let's meet at the bus stop at 10!
Sugawara: Ok, see you tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your sunscreen!
He slapped his forehead and his friends laughed at his motherly behaviour "Way to go Sugawara!" His cheeks reddened and he shouted, "Awh shut up!" This only made his friend laugh louder than before.
Y/n: Haha, ok mom!
"She knows!" At this point, Daichi was rolling on the floor with his phone in his hand and Asahi was busy with wiping his tears. Sugawara never wanted to disappear so badly in his life before...

"Sugawara, over here!" He saw Y/n waving at him, her baby blue dress flowing with the breeze and a pair of sunglasses on her eyes. Her signature smile was plastered on her cute face, smiling he made his way towards the bus stop "Good morning, were you waiting for me?" She shook her head "Nope, i just got here... Oh! I almost forgot." He gave her a questioning look and she dived her hand into the beach bag. "Aha found it!" She took out a sunscreen bottle and started to apply it to her face then she squeezed the bottle and collected the sunscreen on her pointer finger and walked towards Sugawara. Without saying anything, she started to apply it on his face and Sugawara's cheeks reddened. "What are you-" She giggled and replied, "You told me to bring some remember?" He averted his eyes and stared at the rocks under his feet, his motherly behavior's gonna be the end of him. "Uh... Yeah, I forgot about that." He closed his eyes and let you do your work on his face, your delicate and cool fingers felt good on his skin, he gave a sigh of bliss. Then a voice interrupted the romantic aura "You are such a cute wife, young lady." An old woman approached them and smiled at Y/n, her eyes widened and she smiled. Sugawara immediately waved his hands "No no-" Then he felt her hand squeeze his. "Shh, just play along Mr.Sugawara, she's just an old lady." Then she continued to apply the sunscreen on his cheeks "Thank you." She thanked the old lady and they started to chat, Sugawara admired her soft futures while she talked with the old lady. "You two remind me of my husband and myself when we were younger." Y/n let out a small 'aww' "It may sound cheesy but we were so in love with each other, sadly he passed away a year ago." Sugawara bowed "Sorry for your loss." Y/n nodded and did the same, the old lady smiled "Always take care of each other, i lost my mom and my dad but losing the love of my life was the hardest." They both listened to her intently and 5 minutes later the bus arrived. "Let's go! Sugawara." He nodded and took the bags.
They found a seat on the front and sat next to each other. "The lady was so sweet." Y/n muttered and he nodded, confirming her statement. "Losing your lover must be really painful huh, Sugawara?" He hummed and locked eyes with her "Have you ever been in love before Y/n?" She looked at the window, admiring the surroundings, then she turned towards him and smiled "No, what about you?" Sugawara rubbed his chin and started to think, yes there were times when he admired Kiyoko but other than that, he never fell in love. "Well there was someone i admired when i was in high school but she got married with our teammate." Y/n hummed and smirked "So you were a simp?" He sulked like a child "What? No!" She laughed "I'm just teasing you, don't worry."
They arrived and found a comfortable spot for sunbathing, Sugawara's phone rang and he got up "I'll be back" he smiled at the girl and she nodded. He walked towards the sea and looked at the caller ID 'Nishinoya' he sighed and answered "Your timing is terrible, Nishinoya." Nishinoya's hearty laugh echoed "How are you doing Sugawara-san, i heard you leaving Japan for a vacation?" He hummed "Yes, can I call you later? I made a friend and she's waiting for me." Noya gasped "You found a girl, way to go Sugawara-san!" His cheeks started heating up "It's not like that! We are just keeping each other company, so how is the world tour going?" Noya started to let out some excited noises "I'm at Brazil, you need to see these hot chicks!" Sugawara pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed "You never change do you?" Noya laughed "What can i say? Oh! Don't make your 'friend' wait and let me know about the details, later!" Just when Sugawara was about the open his mouth, Nishinoya ended the call and he made his way towards your spot. "Sorry Y/n, my friend called..." His voice weakened and he saw you applying some sunscreen on your legs, your dress was off and the white bikini with small cherries on it suited you well. He quickly cleared his throat and took off his shirt. "Woah..." Your voice got his attention and he saw you staring at him "O-oh, sorry." He averted his eyes "I was a volleyball player at school and after quitting, i started to work out didn't wanted to lose my form." Your eyes sparkled with interest "You never told me that you were a volleyball player, i love volleyball!" Suddenly he felt shy "Oh, really?" You hummed and patted the empty spot in front of you "Come on, sit. Let me apply some sunscreen on your back." He fidgeted shyly and nodded, when he felt your small hand on his back he twitched "Are they cold?" He shook his head and you started to apply the sunscreen while admiring his back, it was pale like snow and slim but the muscles were visible. "What about your back?" You closed the lid "While you were talking with the phone a lady helped me with it, don't worry." You got up started to walk towards the sea and didn't notices his eyes lingering on your back. "Come on Sugawara!" He smiled and jogged up to you, you dipped your feet into the water and flinched "Gosh, it's so cold!" Then Sugawara smirked at you and started to do grabby hands "Oh, really?" You arched a brow "What are you doing?" Suddenly he picked you up bridal style and slowly got into the water "Sugawara, please no!" You shouted then started to swing your legs and grabbed his shoulders, he gave a hearty laugh "Too late." and dropped you, the cold water sent shivers down your spine. "I'm gonna make you pay!" Then a water fight break out between you two, both of you were laughing like little kids and having the time of your life.
It has been a long time since Sugawara had this kind of fun, you were always teasing him and being playful and that made his day. This vacation was the best one he had so far, he finally forgot about his teaching duties and focused on himself.
-------------
After two weeks of swimming, shopping and eating all kinds of food. You decided to invite Sugawara for dinner, during these two weeks you had the best time in your life and developed a crush on him. His smile, caring personality, hazel eyes every single thing about him captivated you but you didn't want to confess anything bc in the end, he needed to leave and even if he stayed, you knew your relationship wouldn't last long. After getting rid of the dark thoughts you started to type a quick invitation.
Y/n: Hey Sugawara! Would you like to have dinner at my place?
-------------
Sugawara was laying on his bed staring at the ceiling, his head was messy with a lot of thoughts and all of his thoughts revolved around one person 'Y/n' these 2 weeks have been the most exciting period of his life. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, he didn't want to rush things just then his phone dinged and he took it from his nightstand
*A message from Y/n*
A smile appeared on his features and his eyes sparkled with excitement, it was a dinner invitation and his heart skipped a beat. He quickly texted a reply
Sugawara: Of course! I'll be there at 8:00 pm

*Ding dong* "He's here!" You quickly checked yourself on the mirror and ran towards the door. Your hands were sweating uncontrollably but you didn't care. When your small hand turned the doorknob your eyes met with his dazzling smile. "Good evening." He had a bouquet of daisies in his hands and he shyly handed it to you, you smiled "Please come in." He nodded and took started to take off his shoes "Thank you for the flowers, they are breathtaking." You guided him towards your front yard "I'm glad you like them."
The front yard was decorated with some yellow lights then his eyes met with a small table for two. There were cushions on the grass and a small pergola covered with vines. Sugawara admired the garden with wide eyes "This is my first time seeing your garden up close." You hummed "Please have a seat, I grilled some fresh salmon." His eyes sparkled with hunger and he speed-walked towards the chair. You giggled and served him some salad with delicious appetizers, "This is delicious, Y/n." Your cheeks reddened "Oh, I'm glad you like it." then you ate in silence, the atmosphere was different tonight, normally you two like to tease each other and chat for hours but tonight both of you were feeling kinda nervous. "Excuse me Y/n, I need to use the bathroom real quick." You nodded and gave him a small smile.
--------
When Sugawara made it to the bathroom, he leaned his back to the door and closed his eyes. He started to take deep breaths and tried to calm his racing heart "Come on Sugawara, get it together." He walked towards the sink and splashed his face with some cold water, then he grabbed a towel and dried his hands just when he was about to join you again he saw the open drawer there were some documents hanging from it. He arched a brow "It's her privacy but they are gonna fall." Then he walked towards the drawer and grabbed the documents "Here we go-" His heart stopped beating and hazel eyes widened.
Patient name: Y/n L/n
Age: 24
The reason for the test: Lung cancer
Test Results: Soft tissue lesions were found in the right and left lung. Tumors have reached a dangerous size.
"Lung what..." His hands were shaking, everything was meaningless, dangerous size? Were you hiding it from him, how long, were you in pain? He squeezed the documents and dashed towards the garden.
---------
"Y/N!" Sugawara's loud voice alerted you, standing from your seat you saw him running towards you with tears in his eyes "Sugawara what-" His arms enveloped you in a tight embrace and he started to tremble then... You felt his tears on your shoulder "Sugawara are you okay?" Your voice was laced with worry. His hands clawed on your t-shirt and your arms wrapped around his waist "It's okay I'm here I'm not going anywhere." He clenched his teeth "How can you say that?!" Your eyes widened "What?" His puffy eyes finally met yours "How can i believe you, why didn't you tell me you were sick, what if you disappear?!" A horrified look appeared on your face "H-how did you find out?" His vacation was supposed to be filled with happy memories and yet he managed to find out, you felt terrible "Sugawara you weren't supposed to see that document." Your eyes glistened with tears. "This is what you care about, Y/n why didn't you tell me?!" You tried to hold the tears back but it didn't work, they started to run down your face. "I... I just wanted to fill these 3 weeks with happy memories." He squeezed his eyes shut and pulled you in again, this time squeezing even harder than before. "When did you learn about it?" You buried your face in his neck and returned the hug "4 months ago, that's why i came here in the first place. The doctor said i should leave the city and get some fresh air." The tears started to fall from his eyes again "Y/n, cant you have surgery?" You shook your head and tried to lighten the mood "No the tumors on my lungs are too big but hey, my lungs keep getting better and better Sugawara, don't worry everything is going to be alright." Reality dawned on him, hard. He only got 2 weeks then he needed to leave and return to his job. "No, i can't leave you here Y/n how can i return to Japan..." You squeezed your eyes shut it's now or never... "Hey, Sugawara?" He gave out a weak hum and you continued "I like you." A desperate sob came out of his mouth and he nodded "I like you too."
--------
"Sugawara..." He collected the pillows on her "Are you comfortable?" She nodded and pulled him in a kiss, they were currently in her room. After the sentimental moment, Sugawara didn't want to leave her alone and she gladly accepted. He gently take off his shirt and tugged at hers "May i?" She covered her face with her arm and nodded, he smiled and pecked her lips "Let me see your eyes Y/n." She hesitantly lowered her arm and met with his gorgeous hazel eyes. "I can stop if you don't want to." She shook her head and caressed his cheek "Don't stop, i want to feel you...sensei. That's what they call you at Japan right? Sensei..." His breath hitched in his throat and hungry eyes started to devour her form "Don't do that." He warned her "Do what?" He started to leave open-mouthed kisses on her neck "Don't call me sensei." He took her shirt off and her legs wrapped around his waist "Please teach me, Kōshi Sensei." And hearing his first name fall from her lips made him lose his composure, her lips welcomed his hot tongue with enthusiasm "Kōshi-" She mumbled, her hands found the back of his head and started to massage his scalp a satisfied moan fell from his lips "I love you Y/n."
--------
The sun attacked the grey head's face and he turned towards the other side to protect his face then his nose touched something soft. Opening his eyes, hazel orbs met with her cute features. She was sleeping soundly and a caring smile crossed his lips. Peppering her face with small kisses alerted her and she slowly opened her eyes with a small moan. "Good morning." Sugawara said with a hushed tone. A smile appeared on her face and her arms wrapped around his neck "Morning, Kōshi." Hearing his name made his stomach churn in a good way, then he continued to pepper her face with kisses. All of a sudden she started to giggle and that made Sugawara giggle as well "What are you laughing at?" She tried to stop her giggles but failed "Your kisses tickles." Then his hands started to dance on her exposed stomach and she squeaked "Kōshi, no it tickles!"
Both of them were breathing heavily "I won." Sugawara laughed and plopped on his back, Y/n was trying to recover from all the tickling. Then she straightened up and turned towards her lover "Hey, lets take a bath I'll prepare it for us." Sugawara's cheeks started to heat up and he squeaked "Together...?" She turned towards him and grinned "Yeah."
Sugawara knocked on the bathroom door and heard a faint 'Come in.' Then slowly turned the doorknob the see Y/n taking off her undergarments. She gave him a genuine smile and got in "Come, Kōshi." He shyly smiled back and joined her in the bathtub, Y/n leaned her back on his chest and let out a blissful sigh. After enjoying the warmth of the water in comfortable silence, he tightened his hold on her waist. "Y/n, what can i do for you?" It was hushed like a whisper but he wanted her to hear it and she did. "Hmm, what do you mean by that?" He leaned his head on hers "Please, i don't care how much it costs if there's a way for your sickness let me-" She turned her head and locked eyes with him, she was smiling but it was almost sad. "You being here with me is enough, i told you im getting better Kōshi." Even tho she said that she was getting better, Kōshi didn't want to risk it, the thought of her getting even sicker or passing away brought tears in his eyes. "Are you sure Y/n? Maybe we can-" She shook her head and cut him off "No, i want both of us to enjoy this vacation together, you're going to leave after 2 weeks am i wrong?" His heart broke, he completely forgot about the fact that he was going to leave "No! I'm not gonna leave Y/n." She sighed and pecked his cheek "You're a teacher, you need to be on duty. We'll see each other in summer again." He shook his head and hugged her even tighter "I don't want to go, i cant wait till summer! Can't you come with me? We'll rent a house for you and it can be far away from the city?" She gave him a sad smiled and turned fully to face him, she sat on his legs and started to play with his cheeks "I can't come with you, i need to stay here. Also, my doctor is here." No matter what he said, she declined. "Let's fill these remaining weeks with good memories, we'll see each other again right?" He nodded with tears in his eyes and they sealed the promise with a sweet kiss.
--------
Two weeks passed by with them spending time together and each passing day, Sugawara fell more for her. The thought of leaving made him shake with sadness. Tonight was his last night in Turkey and they were currently sitting on the sand of the empty beach, enjoying each other's presence, then Y/n turned to her bag "I have a surprise for you." Sugawara raised a brow and smiled "Oh, really?" Then he saw a violin in her small hands, his eyes sparkled with happiness "You'll be playing for me?" He asked with excitement and she nodded, smiling. She got up and stared at the sea, Sugawara's eyes watched his lover carefully. She was beautiful and breathtaking in every way. Then she took a deep breath and an angelic melody reached his ears. Both of their hearts were beating like crazy, the piece was slow and sentimental. It almost sounded like a goodbye and the next thing he saw was the blurry image of her, he was tearing up. He just wanted to take her with him, find a solution and live happily together but the reality was cruel. Her delicate fingers danced on the strings and the other one gripped the bow softly. Creating a soft melody dance in the air. He listened to the captivating melody in silence and let the tears flow down.
"Did you like it K-" she turned to see him with red cheeks and teary eyes and sat next to him quickly wiping his tears away with her thumbs. "It was beautiful Y/n..." her arms lopped around his neck and enveloped him in a hug. They sat in silence and her fingers danced in his grey locks. He inhaled her sweet scent end let it calm him down. "You'll come to the airport tomorrow, right?" He asked with a shaky voice, pecking his cheek she squeezed his hand and flashed him the most beautiful smile "Of course! And don't worry I'll text you daily." He pouted in a childish manner "You better." that made her giggle she leaned towards him and their foreheads met "Next summer will be better Kōshi I'll fully recover, i promise." her eyes opened and admired his face "Just be healthy, we can always go on a vacation."

Sugawara gripped his luggage, he was gripping it like his life depended on it his knuckles turned white and his heart was aching. He turned towards the love of his life and he saw the tears in her eyes. A quiet sob was heard from her lips and he enveloped her in a tight hug, her hands gripped his shirt and she buried her face on his chest. "Text me every day, every hour, every minute." She only hiccupped and nodded then whispered "I will..." He cupped her face with his palms and wiped her tears but he couldn't do anything for his own tears and let them flow "Take care of yourself, don't catch a cold, consume protein and vitamins also drink a lot of water, no alcohol and don't forget to-" She giggled "Don't you worry Kōshi I'm not a child, you take care of yourself too." He rubbed their noses together and placed a loving kiss on her lips. "I love you so much Y/n." She hugged him for the last time and inhaled his calming scent. "I love you, Kōshi." He checked his watch and gave her a sad look, she nodded and smiled. He started to walk towards the gates, his steps were heavy they almost screamed at him not to go. His heart was having a hard time beating and his eyes blurred with tears then he heard her beautiful voice "Kōshi!" he instantly turned and saw her waving her hands in the air "Have a safe flight, i love you so much, I'll be waiting for you!" He smiled with tears in his eyes then waved his hands in the air "When you get better, I'll take you to Japan!" she gave him a thumbs up and continued to wave, he laughed and walked to his gate with a smile on his face.
------------- (Timeskip)
His friends came to welcome him, they were expecting a happy and energetic Sugawara but instead they saw a guy with puffy and red eyes, his eyes looked empty and sad. They both ran up to him "Sugawara, what happened?!" He broke down and started to sob uncontrollably, Asahi grabbed his luggage and Daichi led him to his car, then Sugawara started to tell them about his lover's sickness between loud sobs and they couldn't do anything but listen to him with sad looks on their faces. Daichi was driving and Sugawara was sitting at the front. Asahi was at the back then he leaned forward and touched the grey head's shoulder with a comforting manner. "Is there something we can do, Sugawara?" Daichi asked with a small glint of hope in his eyes, Asahi nodded and added "Yeah, if the problem is money we can collect it together." Sugawara shook his head and the tears continued to flow from his eyes. "No, apparently the tumors are too big and she wouldn't survive." He cupped his face with his hands, they tried everything to cheer him up but failed. "I'm sorry for dropping the mood." He apologized between sobs and Daichi turned to him with a frown on his face "You are our best friend, your pain is our pain, don't you ever say that." Asahi let out a sound of approval and voiced his opinion "I'm actually happy that you shared your problem with us." He looked at his friends and tried to give them a smile but it looked more like a grimace.
-----------
He finally got home and ran to the shower, after taking a quick one he immediately opened his phone and saw a message from you, his heart pounded
Y/n: When you get home, please text me!
A sigh of relief left his lips and instead of texting he found your name on his contacts and pressed the call button, after three rings you opened with an energetic tone "Kōshi! Are you home?" Your beautiful voice ringed in his ears "Yeah." his voice cracked and you stayed silent for a while "Y/n?" He heard her sigh "Kōshi you didn't cry, did you?" He cleared his throat and tried to compose himself, he didn't want to make you sad. "N-no, i just fell asleep on the way home and i guess it wore me out." He let out a fake laugh and tried to ease her worry "Oh, don't you dare feel sad ok?" She raised her voice in a scolding tone and he smiled "You too, stay positive." You hummed and both of you listened to each others breathing in silence "Then, since you just came I'll hang up so you can clean and organize your stuff." he let out a small 'okay' "I love you Kōshi, call you later." He smiled "I love you too." then she hung up.
------------
Days, weeks and months passed by with late-night phone calls and facetimes. You told him that you were getting better and better and reassured him saying you were eating all of your meals and going on early walks. Both of you even started to make plans for the summer and you promised him to play your violin for him. Everything was going to be okay, relief washed over him.
Sugawara just came back from his works and decided to give you a call, you loved hearing about his day and it always made his day. There was a small smile on his face, he pressed 'call' and waited to hear your voice, after a couple of rings the ringing stopped and he thought you picked "Hey Y/n! I-" then a monotone voice cut him off "The person your calling is busy now, please try again later." It got on voicemail and he furrowed his brows. Hanging up he sent a quick text.
Sugawara: Just came back from work, call me when you're back!
Multiple scenarios started to appear on his head and he shooed them away, you were okay just busy. At the end of the day, you always call him back and listen to his day while working on your new violin piece. He walked towards the bathroom and decided to clean himself up. Then after getting clean he decided to eat dinner and quickly fixed up some edible stuff. During his time in Turkey, you cooked him multiple dishes and he loved every single one of them. He missed your cooking and his thoughts started to get cloudy with your memories again. He searched for his phone and looked at his text, it was still on delivered. A frown appeared on his face and he tried calling you again.
"The person your calling is busy now, please try again later."
An hour
Again.
"The person your calling is busy now, please try again later."
Two hours
Again.
"The person your calling is busy now, please try again later."
Three hours.
Again
"The person your calling is busy now, please try again later."
Panic started to rise in him and he quickly called Daichi, after listening to his friend's worries Daichi pursed his lips and started to think. "Maybe she went to see her friends?" Tears started to form in Sugawara's eyes and she shook his head "No Daichi, she always texts or calls me before going somewhere!" Daichi didn't want to be pessimistic after hearing his friend's shaky breaths and tried his best to calm him down "Okay Sugawara, take a deep breath everything is gonna be fine, want me to come over?" Sugawara replied with a 'yes please' then hung up. He walked towards his bedroom and plopped on the bed with his phone in his hand, he looked at the multiple delivered texts:
Sugawara: Y/n where are you?
Sugawara: Y/n please call me
Sugawara: I'm trying to reach you for hours, you are worrying me
Sugawara: Y/n please
He sobbed and prayed for your wellbeing, his hand clenched the phone and waited for his friend to come, he didn't know what to do... Then an idea popped up in his head, he dashed towards the living room and found his laptop sitting on the table. Opening it, he quickly looked at the plane tickets and found a flight to Turkey at 5 in the morning without thinking twice, he quickly booked a ticket and started to pack his things. He quickly called the school principal and wanted an emergency leave luckily, the principal wasn't heartless.
*Ding dong* he dashed towards the door and his eyes met with a worried Daichi "Suga, you okay?" Sugawara quickly nodded his head and led him towards his living room "What the-" clothes were everywhere, there was an open suitcase sitting on the floor with a laptop next to it. "What are you doing, Sugawara?" He turned towards his friends "I'm flying to Turkey this morning, i already asked for permission from the principal." Daichi's eyes widened "Sugawara arent you making rushed decisions, are you sure they are good for you?" Sugawara furrowed his bros "Daichi, i need to see her as soon as possible." Sugawara was a grown man so there wasn't much his friends could do. "Maybe you should wait for a bit, what if she's busy?" Sugawara shook his head "She never goes somewhere far away without letting me know." Daichi averted his eyes to the floor and prayed *I hope she's alright...* Then his eyes looked at Sugawara, there was no trace of his old energetic friend.
------------
*Beep beep beep* He quickly got up from his bed and grabbed his suitcase. He got his car's keys and started to drive towards the airport. His heart was beating like crazy, then the car came to a stop with the red light and he quickly grabbed his phone, sending Daichi a quick text.
Sugawara: On my way to the airport, be back soon.
After driving for nearly an hour he parked his car somewhere safe and walked towards the security, the security greeted him "Good morning, sir." He nodded and greeted back. Then he speed-walked to grab his ticket and while waiting for the lady to give him his ticket, he sent a text, to you.
Sugawara: I'm coming, love.
The lady handed the ticket with a small smile on her face and he snatched it like a cat then dashed towards the gates. "Dear Turkey passengers, this is the last call. Please go to gate 107." His eyes looked for the gate and hazel eyes spotted the number '107' not paying attention to his surroundings he quickly made his way towards the gate and waited for the check-in.
------------- (Timeskip)
After his plane landed, he quickly called for an uber and gave him your address. His eyes looked at the surroundings and his heart filled with nostalgia a couple of months ago, he was here with you hugging and crying while driving to the airport. "I'm coming Y/n."
"Hope you have a good day sir." The uber dropped him of, his eyes looked the small house and his heart pounded in his ears, he quickly walked towards the front door and ring the bell. He tapped his foot and scratched the back of his neck, then he ringed again. His heartbeat quickened and a lump formed in his throat just then... *click* His eyes widened and just when he was about to attack you with a hug a middle-aged woman came to his view. "Hello, is Y/n here?" He asked with a panicked expression, the woman gave him a weird look and a young woman appeared behind her "Oh, how can we help you?" Her voice was weak and filled with sadness. "My name is Sugawara Kōshi I'm looking for Y/n L/n, I'm her lover." The young woman's eyes widened and she opened the door "Please... Come inside."
She led him towards Y/n's living room and the memories came crashing back at him. The woman quickly poured him a cup of tea and sat down, the middle-aged woman looked at him with silence. The young lady opened her mouth "I'm Y/n's aunt, and this is my mother, we are here because..." Sugawara gripped the mug in his hands and prayed but "Y/n, she passed away." Her sobs filled the room and Y/n grandma started to wipe her own tears while muttering her prayers. The world stopped; her voice, her smile, her tears, her scent, her laugh, pout... Everything started to appear before his eyes and he couldn't process it, she can't be gone. She was right here, she texted him yesterday morning. This cant be true, he placed the mug on the small table and caged his head with his hands "My Y/n..." His tears dripped on his knees her aunt and grandmother looked at him with sad eyes and let him mourn for the loss of his lover. "C-can i please see her room?" He tried to speak between hiccups and her aunt nodded he slowly climbed up the stairs and opened the door to her room, her scent filled his nose and his knees wobbled he walked up to her bed and took one of the pillows. Pressing is to his nose, her scent made its way to his lungs but her warmth was absent. He poured his feelings out and started to cry his loud sobs filled the room and her aunt closed the door to let him be. "You told me you were getting better..." His runny nose made it hard for him to breathe but he didn't care, he looked at the bed and remembered the mornings he had with you. When you looked at him through your half-lidded eyes and gave him a sleepy smile, when you spent the night in each other's presence, when you sat on top of him and had tickle fights... He wanted to wake up from this nightmare and wanted to see you laying beside him, greeting him with a soft 'Good morning.' But no... The room smelled like you, then where were you? After staying in your room for twenty minutes he walked down the stairs and saw your aunt sitting on the couch with some papers in her hands, when she felt his presence he motioned for him to come "Please have a seat." He obeyed and sat down, facing her. "This is for you..." She hold out some papers and he took it, the moment he realized what it was, tears came back. Music notes were everywhere, it was a piece for him... The piece had a small note at the end 'For my Kōshi' then her signature at the bottom. Her aunt cleared her throat "Her sickness, got worse. She told us she was feeling great, turns out she was just trying to be optimistic about it..." Sugawara's heart was shattered into pieces after all this time you were just trying to look happy and healthy because you didn't want him to feel sad. He felt so disgusted with himself he was so selfish while you were having a conflict with those tumors he was just being selfish, he gripped the piece and pressed it on his chest, then he looked at the name of the piece and all he could hear was your laughter playing on and on in his mind.

The Secrets We Hide
Fandom: Marvel
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: Swearing
Summary: Loki has a secret. A big secret. When Thor needs his help finding Odin, his secret may be exposed.
Authors’ Note: My very favourite reader of my Loki series, Lavender Blue, asked for some more Thor, and whilst thinking about it I got a little carried away
Also Y/N has a last name in this that might make sense if you get to the end oop
If you’re waiting for the next part of Lavender Blue I fucking SUCK at writing smut someone help me-
Tumblr media
"Where are we going, brother?" Thor looked curiously at Loki.
He'd been to Britain a handful of times in his life.
The very first had been sometime during what would later become colloquially know as the dark ages, in the early sixth century, he was inclined to believe. Earth, he had found, was wholly unremarkable, if England was anything to go by.
It was on this occasion that he had learned of his brother's magical talents, travelling on horseback through the countryside. He'd stumbled onto a (Remarkably small, he noticed) kingdom, ruled over by a gentleman by the name of Arthur. The real shock, however, had come to him upon entering the banquet hall in his host's castle, only to find his younger brother - who was, needless to say, not pleased to see him - sat next to his host. The lengths he'd gone to disguise himself were commendable, and the beard he'd magicked up was impressive, but there was no mistaking the mischievous twinkle in the eyes of Loki of Asgard.
However, the England Thor found himself in now was a far cry from the country of his memory. Winchester, he had been informed, was where the bifrost had brought them, but the cobbled streets he was walking on were about as unfamiliar to him as unicorn land.
Loki, however, definitely knew where he was. He had clearly been here many times before.
He'd replied to his brother's questioning with a disparaging look, continuing to walk on. All Thor knew about where they were going is that it had something to do with where Loki had placed their father three years ago. As for his personal theories? His mind was drawing a blank.
Eventually, Loki came to a stop in front of a single house within a terrace. A tall, unremarkable house, by all means, built with honey-coloured sandstone, the paint on the windows flaking with age, several panes baring the circular marks of a pontil. Three tall steps led to the front door, and the view of the living room through large window next to it allowing some insight as to the nature of its inhabitant.
Through the hazy glass, Thor could see a remarkably cluttered, disorganised room. A large leather armchair sat in the corner of the room, worn from use and decorated by a patchwork quilt. A similar rug lay on the wooden floor, a tapestry of fabric scraps. Opposite the TV was a grey cord sofa, upon which a number of odd and brightly coloured socks were strewn.
It was fairly safe to assume, Thor reckoned, that the inhabitant of this house - who was currently upstairs, based on the light coming through the window - was not his father.
So what the hell were they doing here?
Loki's three short raps of the knocker elicited a response from the house's inhabitant. They could hear them scurrying down the stairs and towards the door, and fumbling with the lock before opening it.
The woman on the other side was not what he was expecting.
The arrival of your visitors had come as somewhat of a shock to you, that much was apparent from your face. The second thing Thor noticed, was that you clearly knew Loki.
Your hair, slightly damp from the shower, was pulled up on top of your head, secured by a scrunchie, the deep green shade of which complimented your eyes. You were dressed simply in a pair of jeans and a red woollen jumper, your feet bare save for a silver ring around the second toe on your left foot and chipped nail polish on your toenails.
The third thing Thor noticed about you, was that you were very pretty.
"Father?" His voice came out as a squeak.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his brother laughing.
"Your father I most certainly am not." Your right eyebrow quirked bemusedly, crossing your arms. "But this is a surprise."
"Sorry, I must've forgotten to mention it." Loki grinned at you. "Can we come in?"
You stepped aside, beckoning the brothers through the door and into your home. You shot Loki a pointed look as he entered, prompting him to roll his eyes and, begrudgingly, remove his shoes and place them neatly by the door. In the interest of remaining polite, Thor followed suit.
"I take it this is not a social visit?" You asked, leading them into your kitchen.
The kitchen, Thor noticed, was nice. Homely. Small, but still, homely. The stone floor was cool under his socked feet, although his left being slightly warmer than the right led him to suspect your floor was central-heated, and the aga opposite him would probably heat the entire house. The beams supporting the ceiling were low enough that he'd hit his head twice, although he had noticed Loki had ducked, his posture automatically slouched so as to avoid collision.
Loki had clearly spent a lot of time in this house, in this kitchen.
You hopped up onto the counter, crossing your legs at the knee.
"Perceptive as ever, I see." Loki chuckled. "Although, my manners seem to have momentarily lost me. Y/N, this is my brother, Thor. Thor, this is Y/N Hudson. She's.... She's a friend of mine."
Thor did not miss the curious glance you shot at his brother.
"As delighted as I am to see you, Loki," You rolled your eyes. "What do you want?"
"It would seem that my dear brother has managed to lose our father." Thor glared at the dark haired man.
"I would dearly love to know how exactly one goes about losing one's father." Your lips quirked into an amused smile.
"And you're the only living being on this dull little planet who's capable of finding him." Loki ignored your attempt at riling him, catching your gaze.
"I don't understand." Thor furrowed his brow. "What are you, a witch? Do you have some sort of tracking abilities?"
"No, she's just very intelligent." Loki corrected. "Would you give Y/N and I a moment alone, brother mine?"
Thor nodded gruffly, watching you hop off the counter and walk out of the kitchen, into the room he'd first seen through the window.
He did not miss how his brother bit his lip as he looked you up and down.
Your front room was Loki's favourite place on Midgard.
It might even be his favourite place in the nine realms.
It had quickly become his bolt-hole, his safe place. It was the first place he'd ever been shown true kindness, where you'd brought him after you found him in a back alley, dying and alone. It was where you'd laid him on the sofa, where he'd been tucked under a blanket for the first time, where he'd drunk his first ever cup of midgardian tea. It was where you'd allowed him, a complete stranger, to rest and heal.
It was where he'd returned to pester this annoying, intriguing little human being, a process within which he discovered you were possibly less annoying and entirely more intriguing than he'd initially assumed.
He trailed his fingers across the back of your sofa absent mindedly, staring at the rings on your coffee table. You had a habit of leaving half-drunk, cold cups of coffee on this table - hence, the rings - something that irked him to no end.
The long hairs on the cushion caught his eye, and he wondered where the furry little beast might be hiding. Your cat, Kenneth, did not like Loki, a sentiment he wholeheartedly reciprocated. If you weren't so fond of it, he would more than happily fling the little monster into some unreachable pocket of a distant dimension.
His eyes reached where you'd perched on the arm of your armchair, one leg stretched out in front of you. He allowed his gaze to lazily climb the length of your body, taking all of you in.
Gods, did he love your legs.
"I've missed you, darling." He grinned up at you.
"I've not seen you for two weeks, Loki." Your voice was slow, deliberate. "And you come to me now, because you need me?"
He bit his lip, you had him there. He never was quite sure how to gauge your emotions, never sure how you’d react. Everything you did was carefully considered.
Even after all this time with you, you were still something of an enigma to him. It was one of the things that had initially drawn him to you, one of the things that he loved about you.
"On the contrary, my sweet." His voice had dropped, so much so that he was almost purring. "I always need you."
"Don't you try to charm me, silvertongue." You raised one finger in front of you, pointing it at him; a warning.
"Is it working?" He raised one eyebrow at you as he spoke.
"I'll let you know." You grumbled.
A soft chuckle left his lips, crossing the distance between you in two strides, dropping to his knees before your outstretched legs. He glanced up at you inquisitively, a massive grin stretching across his face at your nod of confirmation.
Gently, he lifted his hands up so his fingertips pressed at your stomach, at the little gap of skin between the bottom of your jumper and the waistband of your jeans. His fingers slid gently under your jumper, taking the woolen garment with it until his palms were flat against your stomach.
"Hey, little one." He cooed. "I can't believe how tiny you are. I can barely see you."
You laughed quietly, bringing your hand down to rest on top of his much larger one. He kissed the soft skin of your slightly swollen belly, and the intimacy of the small gesture made your heart swell with love and affection for both him and the child growing inside you.
"I wonder if they'll be blue." You mused, running your fingers through the ends of his hair.
"Why, in the name of all things unholy," He looked up from his ministrations. "Would it be blue?"
"Because, you're, well, you know..." You waved your hands expressively. "Nevermind. I had a scan a few days ago, do you want to see?"
You fished in your back pocket, pulling out a small folded piece of paper.
Desperation was not something Thor was used to.
However, in that moment, it was exactly what he as feeling.
He'd crossed his legs, he'd shifted his weight from leg to leg uncomfortably. But however hard he tried, he just could not shift the feeling. He needed to go to the toilet, and he needed to go to the toilet badly.
As the age-old saying went, when you gotta go, you gotta go.
He'd uncomfortably wandered towards where he'd seen you and his brother wander off to.
What he was not expecting to see, was Loki knelt between your legs.
His hands flew up to his face, shielding his view. He'd seen this before, and it scarred him for life.
What even had he seen?
His brother, kneeling between the legs of a mortal woman. Your jeans, he noted, were entirely done up.
Loki was kissing your stomach, caressing it, a dark piece of paper clutched in his other hand.
"Your daddy loves you so, so much," His brother had whispered to your stomach. "But don't give your mummy too much grief, ok?"
Words escaped Thor.
This woman Loki had brought him to, was pregnant. With Loki's child.
He cleared his throat, startling both you and his brother. Loki scrambled to his feet, anxious about being caught in such an intimate moment with you.
"I needed the toilet." Thor's voice came out in a much higher pitch than his intention.
"On your left."  Loki's voice was barely a croak, his voice hoarse.
"I'm okay," His voice came out in a more nervous way than he was expecting. "Congratulations are in order, I think?"
"Yes." Loki's voice was gruff, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Thank you, brother."
"Thank you, Thor." You smiled warmly at the god.
"Anyway," Loki was evidently in a hurry to change the subject. "Do you know where the Allfather is?"
"He's in Norway. That's all I know. He's hidden himself well." You rubbed your chin thoughtfully. "But I do know a man who might be able to tell you more."
Loki's lips curled into a satisfied grin.
Thor's state of confusion remained long after they left your house. He was, as the mortals would say, totally gobsmacked.
Unable to provide the location of Odin, you'd handed Loki a neatly folded piece of paper. As far as Thor knew, his brother had not yet opened it.
Loki had kissed you passionately before he left, an uncharacteristic display of affection and one that made Thor deeply uncomfortable. He'd cleared his throat in a pitiful attempt to stifle a laugh, met only by his brother's middle finger in his face.
Rude.
He glanced at his brother as they walked. He'd not said a word since they’d left, but his hair was mussed from your fingers and his cheeks flushed from your embrace.
“I’m shocked.” He mused. “A woman - an attractive woman - likes you.”
“Harsh.” Loki frowned. “And she didn’t, at first. Like me, that is.”
“Smart woman.” He chuckled, eliciting a punch from the taller of the two.
In his many, many years of existence, he would never have guessed that Loki would be the first of the two of them to become a dad. He never would’ve even imagined his brother as a father in his wildest dreams.
In all honesty, he had never imagined a woman taking Loki as her lover.
He shuddered at the mental image. Yeugh.
“Congratulations, I guess.” A sudden fondness overwhelmed him. “Dad.”
“They are everything to me.” Loki’s voice was clear, concise in a way he had never before heard from his mischievous brother - he was, after all, the God of Lies. “I would gladly give my life to save theirs. I’d give yours, for that matter.”
“Your sentiment is touching.” He grunted. “Anyway, where are we even going, brother?”
He turned to his suit-clad little brother, watching him withdraw the piece of folded paper from his pocket. He unfolded it carefully, revealing your delicate, printed writing.

Hello! I have fallen in love with miles and I was wondering if we could have another one about a family barbecue with the avengers 🥺 I live for his relationships with his aunts and uncles! Thanks so much 🥺❤️
anon, yes!:
it’s tony’s suggestion initially
he wants to “boost morale” and thinks that “it could be a lot of fun, babycakes” and you shrug, nodding because it’s not a bad idea
but then he gets mad and leaves because you ask him innocently: “but who’s gonna cook? cause i know for a fact it’s not gonna be you”
so you stand in the hallway as you relay the information to your husband and your very sleepy, newly three-year old son miles, one of miles’ arms circled around steve’s neck and his other hand on the end of the pacifier that bobs in his mouth, eyebrows furrowed as he listens to you, his long lashes sweeping his cheeks
you shoot steve a look when you see the paci because you’ve definitely been hiding it so that you can wean your son off of it
(it’s still better than sucking his thumb) but as you glare at your husband, he simply smiles because he’s a pushover
“sounds good, sweetheart,” steve kisses the crown of your head and when the both of you fall silent, miles raises his hand patiently looking between the two of you
“go ahead, bud,” steve laughs at him
putting down his hand and pulling the paci out of his mouth, miles still looks lost: “daddy, why are we having a-a bar-bar-barbecue? is there a birthday?”
“no, miles,” steve smiles, “uncle tony wants to have a barbecue because he thinks that it’ll be fun.”
“but it’s a party - you can’t have a party if it- it- there isn’t a birthday!”
miles says it with exasperation and smacks his hand on his forehead, like it’s so obvious and the both of you are idiots for even suggesting otherwise
“honey, people can have parties when it’s not their birthdays too - sometimes having a party can just be fun and that’s why people do it.”
miles listens to steve’s explanation patiently, blinking up at him and then nodding slowly, handing his dad his pacifier - steve throws it on the table and you make a mental note to hide it later - and looks far more alert than before, a smile spreading on his face
“mama, can we go to the barbecue?” he looks up at you pleadingly, hope shining in his cerulean eyes and you can’t help but roll yours because that’s the exact same look that your husband gives you when he wants something
“of course we can,” you boop the end of his nose playfully and he scrunches it up, giggling and squirming in his dad’s hold while you tickle his sides
“mama, stop, i gotta get ready!” he slides down and falls through steve’s arms, shocking you - “oh my god, miles, stop that!” - because he must’ve dropped at least five feet onto a hardwood floor
he sprints to his room and steve shakes his head fondly as you bury your face in your hands because your son is a maniac
(the barbecue is also tomorrow but you help him pick out his outfit regardless)
miles is up extra early the next day, jumping on both you and steve at 5:30 in the morning, before steve even has the opportunity to head out for his run
“okay okay, bud, we’re up,” steve groans encasing his son in his large arms and pulling him down to lay on the bed while you shove a pillow over your head and try to get back to sleep
“mama, get up!” miles whines and you can hear the smile in his voice
“yeah, mama, get up,” steve teases, nudging you with his foot and you rub your temples because you live with the most exhausting human beings
you make a light breakfast for the three of you after you all fall back asleep at your insistence, giving miles a bath and washing his hair while steve takes his own shower
then you trade off, steve putting miles in his chosen outfit while you go and get ready
you wear a sundress, appropriate for the scorching heat outside, while steve emerges wearing a white t-shirt and light wash blue jeans; he’s carrying your son who’s wearing a red, white, and blue striped shirt under a pair of denim overalls
your heart melts because he is so his father’s son and looks so cute and you can’t help but kiss all over his face
“so cute, baby,” you tell him and he smiles so sweetly that you kiss him again. “alright, let’s go.”
and so you do, leaving your house and heading to the compound where tony has set up a very extravagant barbecue and although you guys are on time, the place is already bustling with all of your friends
miles jumps (yes, jumps...again) out of steve’s arms and runs towards where peter and shuri are sitting, clambering on top of shuri’s lap to throw his arms around her neck (”hi, auntie shuri! i like your hair!”)
he then turns to peter, parking himself in his lap and grabbing his hands, presumably wanting him to “do the web thingy” (even though peter’s explained a million times that he has web shooters, he still entertains your son’s pestering)
“you made it,” tony, dressed in a silk hawaiian shirt and shorts - and pepper, who has her hair down in loose waves, approach you - the former claps steve on the back and his wife kisses your cheek
“this all looks great, you guys,” you compliment them, steve’s hand on the curve of your waist to tuck you into his side
“thank y-”
tony’s interrupted by pepper slapping his shoulder, to which he lets out a loud “ow!”
“thank you,” she says instead, giving you a bright smile. “i’m not just gonna let him take all the credit now, am i?”
“no, dear,” tony grumbles, cracking a beer open and handing it to steve
“let’s get you a drink,” pepper winks at you, looping an arm in yours and dragging you away from the men but not before steve presses a kiss to your forehead
“he’s still so in love with you,” pepper gushes, looking at you with wide eyes and a grin
you shrug, suddenly feeling bashful, and avoid eye contact with her. instead, you see that miles is now on his auntie wanda’s back, the two of them running away from natasha. the redhead catches your eye and smirks, speeding up her jog to a run which makes miles squeal and hold on tighter to wanda
“i guess so,” you admit, grabbing a mimosa off of the table. the two of you toast to “i don’t know, y/n... what about happy and healthy marriages?...no, that’s corny - let’s toast to good sex.”
pepper leaves you to go and find tony because “he was supposed to be getting dessert but i have a feeling he forgot”
“what’s poppin’, lil bit?” sam greets you with a cheeky grin, slinging his arm over your shoulder as bucky sidles up next to you on the other side, playfully shoving you with his shoulder because he’s carrying your son on his other side
“hey, doll,” bucky grins as well, short hair framing his face wonderfully, although miles seems to miss it because he keeps running his hands through it with a slight frown on his face
“hey sammy, hey bucky,” you lean over to make a funny face at your son, distracting him temporarily from bucky’s hair. “sam, i thought you were gonna be cooking today.”
“i did, but then big guy over there insisted that he should take over,” sam rolls his eyes and jerks his thumb over to point at rhodey who is wearing an apron that says ‘trophy husband’ and it makes you snort out loud
“whose apron is that?”
“i think it’s tony’s,” bucky answers, miles now out of his arms, running away from him and towards his uncle tony who is standing with “momo!”
miles and morgan embrace each other dramatically and then morgan starts what is presumably a game of tag, sprinting away from miles and giggling happily while your son chases after her
“cute,” you say and bucky chuckles
“but isn’t my apron better?” sam stops the three of you in your tracks so that you can stare at sam’s white ‘kiss the chef’ apron
“meh,” you and bucky shrug, laughing loudly when sam shoves you and bucky, grumbling something about jealousy
bucky goes after him, giving you a wink before jogging lightly after his friend
miles is now sitting in nakia’s lap, t’challa and thor telling him stories that have his eyes wide and mouth wide open in awe - you make eye contact with nakia and she blows you a kiss that warms your heart
(“uncle thor, where’s your hammer?”...“uncle ‘challa, can- can you- what about your claws?”)
sam is now trying to wrestle the spatula out of rhodey’s grip, the two men fighting beside the grill while bucky and clint look on in amusement
“hey, dollface,” steve’s hand slips around your waist and he pulls you back into him, dropping a kiss on your lips. “having fun?”
“yeah,” you sigh. “you?”
“definitely. i’m kinda hungry though-”
“food’s ready!” tony calls out right on queue, obviously having broken up the two chefs and deeming it time to eat
lunch is delicious and so much fun that your stomach hurts afterwards, not from overeating but from how much you’ve been laughing
miles sits on sam’s lap the whole time, the two of them pestering “uncle ‘ucky”, but since it’s miles, bucky doesn’t mind at all
(he’s shooting sam looks that could kill but the gap-toothed man only smiles charmingly and continues throwing food at his head)
you’ve had enough mimosas to be a little tipsy, just enough to feel relaxed and loose, leaning into steve’s side as rhodey tells another one of his stories that makes everyone groan
but then nat and clint take over, sharing tidbits about what happened in budapest that have everyone on the edge of their seats
the sun is setting by the time people start leaving - you’re tempted to stay longer but miles is getting sleepy and a little whiny
“mama,” he tugs at the bottom of your dress and his blue eyes are barely open. “m’tired.”
“yeah?” you swing him up into your arms and his head immediately rests on your shoulder, arms around your neck and eyes slipping closed. “okay, baby, let’s go home.”
and so you do, saying your goodbyes and driving back home
you and steve are on the couch, cuddled up next to each other while soft music plays in the background, the low lights in your house making you tired
miles is still sleeping on you (you tried to put him down earlier but he wouldn’t go to bed, so you’re waiting until he’s deeper asleep)
“sleepy, baby?” he glances at you, eyebrow raised and voice quiet. you nod, yawning and burying your face in his shoulder. “okay then: sleep.”
“what, right here? we’ll just go to bed, babe-”
“i’ll take you both to bed later. i’m comfortable and i’m sure you are too, so sleep, sweetheart.”
“...okay.”
and when you fall asleep not even two minutes later, steve admires the way the planes of both of your faces look in this light and his heart flutters at the sight - he can’t believe how lucky he’s gotten and presses a kiss to your cheek and then miles’ because he can’t help it
you sigh and shift in your sleep, curling further into him and it’s in moments like these that he knows he wouldn’t trade his little family for the entire world
i am in love goodbye

“Good evening, Miss (Y/L/N),” the doorman of the luxurious Central City Plaza Hotel greets you. He opens the door wide. “Welcome back.”
You give the man a polite nod and a shy smile. Does he know why you’re here? One of the little voices in your head likes to pester you, insisting that everyone is aware of the special arrangement you have with a certain high-profile scientist.
But there’s no way they would know.
Doctor Harrison Wells would be sure to keep this arrangement discreet.
A text message you had received from the man himself earlier in the day tells you the floor and room number. The closer you get, the faster your heart slams against your chest. It’s like the organ is leading you to the man behind the door you now stand in front of.
Your knuckles rap on the door once, twice, three times.
You hold your breath the entire time between knocking and him answering the door, though luckily you don’t have to wait that long at all.
Science’s Greatest Mind, Harrison Wells, opens the door to reveal himself dressed as the always impeccably gorgeous dresser he is - a crisp white button-down tucked into his black slacks and shiny black shoes you could practically see your blushing face in. His shirt sleeves are rolled up his forearms, and on one you spot a watch worth more than your tuition.
Speaking of tuition…
“Miss (Y/L/N), always a pleasure.” Apparently you’ve skipped dinner with him because his silky voice is already dessert to your ears. “Please, come in. May I take your coat?”
“Yes, thank you.”
One would think after meeting up Doctor Wells every few weeks would diminish the pedestal effect you have created for the man. One would think you wouldn’t get stars in your eyes when he compliments you or builds on one of your scientific theories. And one would think that meeting your idol would change your opinion of him. But nope - the fire inside you seems to burn even hotter for Harrison Wells with every meeting and every second of attention he gives you.
The thing is, Harrison had received word from sources unknown about you - an exceptional mind that many of your peers believed rivalled his own. The tragedy was that you could not seek further education in your field of interest due to an extraordinary lack of financial means. There you were, walking around with that big beautiful brain, only to have it figuratively short circuit when your hero, the man of your dreams, tracked you down.
What it came down to was Harrison feeling unable to let your untapped potential go to waste and invested in you. He came to you with the idea and profound generosity of paying for you to further your education in particle physics, among other fields.
Naturally, you were surprised beyond all belief.
“There’s a little something for you on the desk just over there, if you’d like to open it,” Harrison informs you as he’s already pouring you both some drinks.
Oh yeah - he also showers you with extravagant gifts.
On the desktop lies a long white rectangular box. Your mouth opens a smidge when you look to him, giving the scientist an expression of what have you done?
“Harrison, you shouldn’t have,” you tell him, as you do every rendezvous when he begins to spoil you.
“If I had a nickel,” he smiles fondly at you, with a hint of something else. “Please, open it.”
Sometimes you wonder if he feels the same way about you. Is he interested in dating you? He’s never made a move or outright asked you anything pertaining to the topic of dating. All he’s ever done is compliment you, give you presents, and most importantly, have deep and meaningful conversations about work and life. Although now that you think about it, you don’t discuss much about his life…
It must come with the territory of being a famous, innovative scientist.
Fine, Harrison Wells can keep his secrets.
You open the lid of the box to find a sleek and classy little black dress.
“It’s beautiful…” you breathe out.
“You’ll wear it for our dinner?”
“Have I ever turned down a piece of gorgeous clothing you’ve bought me?”
Harrison grins. “You have not, no. And I’m glad for it.”
“You have exceptional taste,” you tell him.
“I have exceptional inspiration.”
Aaaand cue your blushing cheeks. You scurry off to the insanely immaculate bathroom to change and freshen up. You’re always extra careful with the new clothes he buys you, and treat them like they’re delicate relics you have the utmost privilege to wear. And, of course, right before you leave the bathroom, you check your breath. Just in case.
Okay, all good.
You love how this dress fits you. It’s like it was created just for you. But what you love even more is the intoxicating transfixed gaze of Doctor Wells as you walk back into the room. As you inspect your dress, he moves to stand in front of you. His hands hold on to your forearms. With a little shrug, you can’t help but ask him, “What do you think?”
“I think I am blessed to be in your presence.”
“Oh, what a line!” you tease, and Harrison merely laughs. He always makes you feel like a queen.
“Turn around,” he tells you. For a number of reasons, your heartbeat immediately begins to gallop.
“W-why?”
Harrison just gives you a look, and soon your body is turning your back to him in obedience. After a moment, you feel and see his large hands in front of you at your collarbone area. Then there’s a cool sensation on your skin - metal. A necklace? He secures the clasp behind you, and you feel a quick spark of what must be static electricity when his fingers graze your skin, making you jump. You’re sure to look down to inspect the jewellery piece - a little gold lightning bolt.
“Harrison, you didn’t-”
“-Shall we have dinner?”
You can only nod in reply because you cannot form words. How is he so giving? It makes you wonder whether or not you’re the only one with whom he spoils and spends time.
You wonder if maybe he does other things with other women.
***
Dinner is magnificent as usual. Harrison always orders the most delectable and pricey things on the hotel menu. He also knows the chef personally, so sometimes he calls down to make special requests. This was one of those times. The pair of you talk shop over dinner, your life goals and plans, and so forth.
“I’d love for you to work for me someday on one of my future projects,” Harrison says eventually, effectively blowing your mind.
“Are you serious? You’re actually saying this to me?”
“Yes. I’d have thought you might have had an inkling I would ask you one of these days. I don’t think I’ve been that subtle.”
“Well, consider me oblivious!”
He chuckles. “Good to know.”
As you soon move into the hotel suite's living area, your mind is still reeling from his loose job offer, but then that other pesky thought appears in its place. Maybe it’s the wine, but the thought manifests into words off your tongue.
“How... many others are you doing this with?” you ask.
“Doing what, precisely?”
“You know! Spending special time with me. Buying me lavishly expensive gifts. You’re already paying for my tuition, something you never had to do in the first place. Even though I’m incredibly grateful for that, don’t get me wrong,” you add quickly.
“These gifts,” he says while lifting your chin with his finger to get you to look at him, “are because I think you deserve the world and this is the closest thing I can do to manifest that. As for your tuition, I think you know I believe you to be one of the most promising minds of this time. It would be a crime to let your insight and talent go unused due to a lack of funds.” His compliments play your harp-like heart like a seasoned professional. “What’s more, I... genuinely enjoy our times together.”
Never before has Harrison ever suggested taking whatever this thing is between you to the proverbial next level. You have always had the sense that he is interested in you, but would never be the first to make that sort of move on you. But tonight… right now… you feel so much for him and everything he’s been doing for you, so selflessly, that you want to try to take that next step. If he’s willing, of course.
Your hand ventures experimentally to rest on his leg. Harrison subtly perks up at your touch as if he’s just spotted the window of opportunity you’re sneaking through.
“I enjoy our times together, too,” you agree. “I like you, Harrison. A lot.”
“And I like you.”
You let your hand move slightly higher up his thigh, but his own stops you.
“Please don’t think you owe me anything,” he says, making sure you understand. “I wouldn’t want you to think I’d-”
“-No, no. I know,” you tell him, leaning in closer. “I just really want to. I want you.”
The Doctor Harrison Wells sits there across from you with his mouth parted the slightest bit - the mouth you become obsessed with when you meet him with yours. You’ve wanted to do this for so long and now it’s finally coming true. The heat you begin to feel between you both seems to lure you into his lap and press your hands to his chest. This kiss deepens in an exploratory desperation. Harrison’s hunger lets itself be known by the sound deep in his throat.
You pull back to see how he smiles that gleaming smile as if he’s won the lottery, staring you straight in the eye. “Before we... would you open one more gift from me?”
“Oh,” you say with a bit of a rasp to your voice. “Sure. Yes.”
The scientist reaches around the side of the couch to hand you another box. It’s not nearly as big as the dress box. You pull off the top and move the red tissue paper around to uncover the sexiest goddamn lingerie you’ve ever seen.
You hold it up to yourself. Harrison’s eyes have gone as black as the slinky satin garment itself.
“Would you wear that for me?” he asks.
“I’d do anything for you,” tumbles out of your mouth in pure lust and infatuation.
His brilliant smile almost blinds you.
“Good to know.”

Anonymous Request: I recently discovered that I'm kinda into the sugar daddy kink in fics which is new to me...if that appeals to you at all I was hoping maybe you'd write something where Eowells is a sugar daddy to the reader cause that would be hot. I was hoping they could hook up in a luxurious hotel room that he rented and the reader had to wear whatever he bought for them.

...
“What did you say?” your mouth hung open and eyes went wide as Bucky uttered those words.
He chuckled looking at your stunned expression and said, “You heard me. The town’s history is rich with legends and myths of vampires and ghouls. I’m sure you could find tons of books about them in the library.”
“That is fantastic! Oh my God I knew I chose this town for a reason!” you were practically giddy with excitement.
“You keep surprising me (Y/N). A normal reaction to this would either be a person packing up his things and getting the fuck outta here or laughing in my face.” He said as you both walked out of the store.
You rolled your eyes and repeated your previous statement, “And I’ll keep breaking the stereotypes Mr Barnes. I don’t usually fit into the ‘normal’ box. And it’s a good thing.”
It sure is, he thought gazing at your form in the street light. The warm glow of the sodium vapor lamps made your face appear warm and alluring. The cold air made your breath visible, creating wonderful patterns against the night sky. Your scent intoxicated his mind and he couldn’t simply say goodbye to you just yet.
“Let me walk you home doll, wouldn’t want you getting attacked by vampires on your first week here.” he said placing a hand on the small of your back as you both turned towards Chapel Street.
“I could kick his ass, I can kick box pretty well you know. Not outrun him though, if he’s anything like the ones in Vampire Diaries. You know where they go whoosh from one place to another in a second? Have you seen it?” you asked making an attempt to gesture the fast running from the show.
He doesn’t seem like a guy who would watch the teen shows with way too many hot vampire and hybrid guys. Why did you even ask that? You seemed to lose your ability to carry on a decent conversation with this guy. That was a first.
“Never mind. So gimme more information on the legends. I’ll pester Frank tomorrow at the library but nothing like stories heard from local peeps right?” you teased hoping he’d forget you had asked a stupid question initially.
“I’ve grown up listening to these stories from my grandma, my mom, just everybody. Though their versions vary slightly.
The one that’s stuck around for centuries is about Lucas and Morwenna Klyn.” Bucky looked at you, he had lowered his voice slightly and his hand hadn’t left its place from your back.
You were trying to adjust the weight of the shopping bags in your hands, but hearing those names you looked up and couldn’t help snort a laugh.
“They sure sound like names straight out of a horror book. Go on.”
“Morwenna was said to have migrated here from somewhere near Ireland about 200 years ago and had found this town most to her liking. She was this evil vampire who had witchy abilities-
“Like a hybrid? That’s one thing missing from the Vampire Diaries, they’ve got werewolf vampires but not witchy vampires. Oh but there’s that original witch Esther.”
It was like your mouth was out of control. Rambling absolute nonsense when this very hot guy was eager to tell you stories about his hometown.
“I’m so sorry. I don’t know why said that. I’m just a little crazy about all of this. I’ll keep my mouth shut now I promise.” You said physically putting a finger on your lips, adjusting the two bags in your left hand.
“I’ll forgive you this time.” He narrowed his impossibly gorgeous eyes seriously but the smile playing on his lips.
“So Morwenna had all sorts of powers, she was said to have the ability to control people’s minds, make them do her bidding. She met Lucas here in Dewsbury and he fell madly in love. Typical. Morwenna was beautiful, anybody would fall in love with her. She had a way with words too.
One day Lucas found her feeding on his younger sister Evelyn in these very woods. Her fangs dug deep in his sister’s neck, sucking the life out of her, Lucas watched in horror as Evelyn turned paler and paler in front of his eyes. He ran to stop her but was too late. Evelyn dropped to the ground like a piece of rock, her lifeless eyes still staring at Lucas even though there wasn’t any life in them anymore. Morwenna wiped the blood off her chin and approached Lucas, hunger still visible in her jet black eyes. She bared her fangs and Lucas made a run for his life.
Little did he know that she loved chasing her prey. Making them run for their lives, like feeble little lambs made her feel like a true hunter. She fed on him but didn’t kill him. Instead she turned him into a vampire. Evelyn’s ghost is said to haunt these woods till date. And here we are.” Bucky came to a stop abruptly.
“Whoa. You can’t leave me on this horrific info. I wanna know the rest.” You didn’t realize you reached your house so soon. You wanted to invite him in but he interrupted your thoughts.
“We’ll continue later. I’ve already taken up a lot of your time. You need rest (Y/N). Meet me for drinks at the pub tomorrow?” Bucky stuffed his hands back in his pockets and looked at you expectantly.
“Done. If you don’t show up at the pub on time, I’ll show up at your house and irritate the fuck out of you until you complete the story.” you threatened jokingly but you were very capable of doing that. Though you didn’t exactly know where he lived, you could figure it out sure.
He laughed out loud and the sound made your stomach do somersaults.
Even his laugh is fucking perfect.
“Relax I’ll be there. Goodnight (Y/N).”
He went for a handshake but you went for a side hug, you met somewhere awkwardly in between.
“Goodnight Bucky. Thanks for walking me home.”
“Even though you can kick box.” Bucky teased, making you chuckle.
He turned and started walking into the woods. You stared at his back for a good two minutes fighting the urge to say something but failed.
“Don’t let Evelyn haunt you in there.”
“Don’t worry I can kick box too.” He turned as he replied and shot you a wink.
You watched him until he disappeared into the night and turned to walk inside your house.
Setting the bags on your beige granite countertop, you looked out the kitchen window that overlooked the woods. They sure looked creepy, you were busy thinking about your extremely charming landlord though.
Smiling like an idiot, you were interrupted by a much too loud growl emitted from your belly.
“Shit! Dinner.”
You peeked open one eye to check the time, it read 6:01 am. You had woken up way too early. Maybe you could sleep in for a few more hours, but then you couldn’t once you were fully awake. Perils of being a light sleeper. Sprucing up the place seemed like a good idea, anyways there were a lot of boxes yet to be unpacked, especially your writing material.
What was the main reason for moving here? Writing!
And you were yet to set up your writer’s desk which you were very particular about. And couldn’t just have one writing spot. Inspiration struck at the most random places and situations and you had gotten pretty good at being prepared for that. It always helped to have a great view outside the window. Something about staring off into the distance made your brain come up with a thousand ideas.
The cabin bedroom was a large space, enough to set up a decent writing space. There was a ledge that ran along the bedroom window which was wide enough for you to sit and the bed was attached to it and it had the most gorgeous view of the woods; that would work too.
So you got to work after taking a shower and whipping up a quick breakfast for yourself.
A progress update meeting about your new book was in two months, which seemed like a long time but really you’d be needing all the time you could get to whip out another best seller. Which meant you needed to start writing as soon as possible.
After setting up the ‘work space’ you opened your computer, grabbed your glasses and stared at the blank word document for a few minutes.
Time to block out all the X rated thoughts about your super hot landlord (Y/N). Let’s get some work done, a draft, a outline structure, something. You can do this.
...
The concept of time soon lost on you once you began. It was going well, the ideas were flowing and you were typing them out at lightening speed.
A ding from your phone that lit up next to your laptop startled you out of your zone. It was a text from Bucky.
I’ll see you at the pub in fifteen? - James B
Had you really been writing for that long? Apparently you completely forgot about lunch. And now there wasn’t enough time.
Hurriedly you texted back a reply and got dressed. Drinks on an empty stomach never ended well in your case, you wished you had set an alarm or something.
...
You walked in the dimly lit pub and instantly the smell of booze and bar snacks filled your nostrils. You heard your name being called out from the far end and turned to see Bucky waving you over to a corner booth.
A warm smile on his face as you walked closer and you noticed he was wearing a leather jacket over a dark shirt, looking handsome as ever. He stood up to greet you in a hug.
“You look beautiful.” He said as you took off your jacket and sat opposite him on the semi circled sofa. This place looked like it belonged in the 80s. It probably did.
“Thanks you too.” your cheeks reddened further at your embarrassing response and the initial compliment, you closed your eyes and looked down. Fucking nerves.
Luckily he saved you by not dwelling on it further and asked what you’d have to drink.
“I’ll have the local beer please.”
Eyebrows raised in surprise as he probably saw you as a wine girl. You just shrugged at this point.
“Breaking stereotypes. Got it.” He replied nodding his head with a wide grin as he placed the order.
The conversation flowed as easily as the drinks and soon you had that much too familiar buzz. You were in the middle of explaining a funny incident that happened with you and Sam, giggling way too much when you were interrupted.
“Well if its not the famous (Y/N).” the smooth accented voice reached your ears as you slowly turned to see Loki standing near your booth grinning down at the pair of you.
“Famous? Am I famous?” you grinned back, the edge clearly off at this point. Loki had creeped you out in your meeting.
You missed the slight disappointment on Bucky’s face as you invited Loki to join you guys. Of course he covered it up and slid over to sit next to you, protectively close as Loki sat opposite you.
“So (Y/N), are you enjoying our little town?” Loki put both his hands on the table and leaned over to speak.
“I really am. People are so nice here, I’m not used to that. And Dewsbury has the most fascinating history!”
“So you know about the vampires?” Loki smirked as he glanced at Bucky who was shooting him a warning look.
“Oh yeah in fact, Bucky never got to finish the story last night because it was too late. I’m here to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” you said a bit too dramatically.
Damn this stuff was strong.
The men entertained you with stories of their own for the rest of the night and asked you about your life. You felt quite safe and were enjoying the little flirty banter going on between the three of you. You definitely had one too many pints.
You stood up to leave and instantly the room spun before your eyes. Loki’s hands landed on your shoulders to keep you steady.
“You alright there darling?” he asked, gazing into your eyes. You placed your hands over his as you nodded slowly and giggled.
Suddenly you felt Bucky slide a protective arm around your waist and pull you to his side, earning an eye roll from Loki.
“I got her. Let’s get you home (Y/N).” He said as he walked you both out of the pub, leaving Loki behind.
“I didn’t take you for a light weight doll.” Bucky looked at you as you had your arms around him to keep you steady.
“I’m really not. I just, I skipped lunch today.” you kept your eyes on the road as you approached your cabin much quicker than you realized.
“I just got into writing and lost track of time, not because I skip meals. I love to eat!” you clarified with another small giggle, as you both came to a halt in front of the house.
“Don’t sleep on an empty stomach (Y/N). I hope you have some food at home. If not we can go somewhere-
“No need Sir, I have some leftovers in the fridge. Thank you for walking me home. Again. You’re the best.” you leaned over and pressed a kiss to his cheek and lingered a bit.
He reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind you ears and glanced at your lips. He really wanted to kiss you, know what you tasted like. Know how your body felt against his. Though now wasn’t the time, it would be taking advantage.
He said goodbye and watched you get in before turning back and walking home. At least you were safe.
...
Your body was on fire. Every touch every kiss made your head spin. He was leaving a trail of hot kisses down your jaw and neck before reaching the spot that made you moan loudly as he sucked hard.
You rolled over and straddled his hips placing your hands over his toned chest. You leaned down to kiss him and he sighed opening his mouth to allow your tongue to explore it further. The fight for dominance continued as his hands tugged your hair. You slid your own in his raven black hair.
You rolled your hips against his clothed erection earning another grunt from him. You were placing wet kisses down his torso almost reaching the waistband of his underwear when he grabbed you and spoke in that deep honey dripping voice,
“We have plenty of time for that later darling. Allow me to taste you first.” Your eyes flew open as you stared at Loki’s lust filled face.
Your skin was on fire still as you jolted awake. Your arousal evident between your legs as you sat up. Grabbing a bottle of water from the ledge you took a big swig and walked into the bathroom.
Loki smirked as he noticed your flustered state through your bedroom window, before he turned and vanished into the night.

Christmas with the Dork- John Egbert x reader
(I’m really in a Christmas mood so take this.
Tw: Nothing)
You rub your eyes as you scroll through your phone. Old messages, TikTok, anything that could entertain you at this point. You’re home from college for Christmas Break and you are having, not gonna lie, a pretty amazing time. Your mom and dad made a bunch of food. Plus, it was only the 23rd so that means things are barely over yet. They both wanted to know every single thing about what happened during the semester. Both of them especially wanted to know about your boyfriend, John Egbert. It got so bad that eventually, you just invited him over. Of course, they loved him.
You had been dating for about three months and had known each other since practically the first day. Rose Lalonde, one of your good friends, was in one of your classes and introduced him to you. Mostly because she said your personalities meshed perfectly. She was right, of course.
As you keep on scrolling, your phone buzzes. You sit up from your bed to read it. It was a Pesterchum from none other than John Egbert. A grin spreads across your face. He had been messaging you every single day since break, telling you all his hopes for this Christmas. His biggest goal is to get a new nerf gun, a good one with an extra holster for extra bullets. He wants it so he can get a chance to try and ambush Strider. Just for the hell of it. You shake your head and read the messages from him.
--ectoBiologist started pestering (chumHandle) at 3:27 PM--
EB: (Y/N)!!
EB: hey!!
CH: John!
EB: i can’t believe i get the chance to talk to you again
CH: You literally talked to me yesterday, buddy.
EB: i know
EB: but still
EB: it’s been soooooooo long :(
CH: Haha.
CH: So what’s up, nerd guy?
EB: listen i know this is kinda short notice but
EB: would you like to come over to a christmas party at my house
EB: my family would really like to meet you
EB: and I kinda promised them you would come
EB: it’s at 5 so you would have time to get ready
EB: pleassssssssssse
You think about it for a moment. You wonder if it’s worth it. You’re a bit of a mess. You’ve barely moved from the house for the entire break. Your eyes were crusty, your breath was probably deadly, and the feeling of uncleanliness just stayed on your skin. The more you thought about it, however, the more you realized you couldn’t turn this down. It was your boyfriend! Plus, it’s Christmas. It wouldn’t be very sweet of you to do that. Also, you could finally meet John’s family! He met your family and now you can meet his. It’s only fair.
CH: Sure!
CH: Yes!
CH: I would love to come over, John. :)
EB: yessssssss
EB: see you in a bit
--ectoBiologist ceased pestering chumHandle at 3:33 PM--
You lay there for a moment, a smile on your face. This was so extremely exciting. As you stayed in that moment of happiness, another moment followed. Shit, you have to get ready. Scrambling out of bed, your thoughts go everywhere. What should you wear? Is this like a formal event or something more chilled out? It’s just a Christmas party but you want to impress. John doesn’t care what you look like as long as you’re being yourself, so you have an idea. You go to quickly hop in the shower and freshen up a bit. After that, you quickly throw on a movie t-shirt, some jeans, and a jacket.
In your closet, you grab a small box wrapped up in blue wrapping paper. The box may or may not be a gift for John. You put it carefully under your arm Finally, you leave your bedroom after a straight five hours just chilling in there. Your parents wave goodbye to you before you leave to go get in your car. You shoot a quick message John’s way to say you’re on your way. He responds with a smiley face. Butterflies flew through your stomach. This was extremely exciting. This was a good time to meet them and it was so exciting. It’s Christmas and Christmas parties normally always ended up really well for you! At least you’ve heard about most of his family members and had a general idea of how many people would be there. You put his address into your phone, turn up the music on the radio, turn up the heater, and get to driving.
The drive was a relatively nice one but when you finally stopped at his house, you were, of course, nervous. Looking up at it was even more threatening, like a looming giant. It seemed like a very nice little house. It was nice, medium-sized, and colored an off-white. On one side of the house, a nice little deck sat, and on it was a brass telescope. The chimney was puffing out smoke, indicating that a fire had been started already. The driveway was piled with cars. In the front yard, snow angels and snowmen were sprayed across the fresh snow proudly. All the snowmen were decorated differently.
As you get out of your car, the nerves just get worse, twisting around your stomach painfully. You carry John’s present safely as you step carefully around the icy sidewalk. You reached the door with ease, took a deep breath, and knocked. From inside, a girl’s voice screeched ‘I got it!’ The door was opened by what you would assume was the same voice. A girl, maybe around a year or so younger than you and John with glasses and a pixie cut stood there. This has got to be John’s little sister, Jane. You’ve seen a lot of pictures of John with her from when they were kids. You even followed her on a few social medias but this was your first time meeting her.
“Oh my gosh!” She squeals in excitement. “(Y/N)! It’s so good to finally see you in person!”
“Hey there Jane!” You smile widely. “It’s so good to see you too!”
Jane holds her arms out for a hug and you move to hug her. Her grip is tight. It actually helps to calm your nerves a bit. We both laugh as she drags me into the living room. There’s a bunch of people inside. The living room was clean and everything was practically pristine. The smell, however… ugh. The smell was completely unbearable. Like cake mix and frosting mashed together. Too much of it.
First of all, you see your good friend and John’s cousin, Jade Harley sitting on the couch with her lovely dog, Bec, laying in her lap. They’re watching what seems to be Home Alone on the TV. Next to her is whom you’re assuming is John’s aunt. He never told you her first name but you know her last name is Claire. She has a glass of wine in her hand and is also watching the movie. A little boy who seems to maybe John’s little cousin, Jude, is holding a small gun while an older man, Jade’s grandpa, holds a real gun. They seem to be practicing some kind of shooting. Not actually pulling he trigger, just learning how to hold it correctly. Yikes.
“GUYS, LOOK!” Jane yells out. “(Y/N’S) HERE!” Everyone stops what they’re doing and looks at you.
Jade’s the first one to spring up, Bec jumping from the couch as well, “(Y/N)! Hey, there! I feel like I haven’t seen you in weeks!” She runs to you and gives you a big huge just like Jane did.
“You haven’t,” You laugh out, patting her back. “We’ve been on winter break.”
“Oh, yeah!” Jade breaks the hug, looking straight at you. “I’m so glad John invited you over! It’s not every day I get to see my bestie!” Before she can keep going on and on, the woman steps up. She gives Jade a little push as a way to say ‘it’s my turn’ and Jade gets the hint.
“Hello,” she offers her hand and you take it, “I’m A. Claire. It’s so nice to meet you. We’ve heard a lot about you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, ma’am,” you give her hand a proper shake. The little boy then came running up. He pushes in front of Miss Claire and grins at you with crooked teeth. He puts his hands on his hips.
“Hi!” The boy said. “I’m Jude.”
“Hey there, Jude,” you smile back down at him. “I like your shirt.” He was wearing a shirt with a UFO that was levitating Santa’s sleigh. The compliment made him grin even more.
“A fan of aliens I see,” Jude taps his chin, “that’s a big plus on your side. Now, just a few more questions to see if you’re acceptable enough to date my favorite cousin.” He brings out a notebook and pen that seemed to be covered in questions. Luckily, before he can start Jade’s Grandpa takes his shoulder and drags him back a bit so he can talk to you.
“Hello there again, (Y/N)!” Grandpa Harley says in his jolly, booming voice. You two have met before since you hang out with Jade all the time too.
“Hi Grandpa Harley,” you give him a nod. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“It’s a pleasure,” he looks down at Jude. “Why don’t we go outside and do some target practice on those snowmen.”
Jude’s face lights up even more than before, “YEAH!” Jane gasps in horror from behind you.
“Don’t you dare shoot my snowmen!” Jane yells, shaking her fist at them. “You two wouldn’t dare. I MADE THOSE WITH PRIDE AND LOVE!”
“Try us, Jane!” Jude laughs out, grabbing the gun out of his pocket and running outside with Grandpa Harley, Jane in tow.
“Such dorks, am I right?” Jade laughs, looking at you.
“Yep, they’re definitely a part of the extended Egbert family,” you say, laughing along with her. Your laughter stops, however, when you feel something bump into your legs. Looking down, you see John’s salamander-daughter thing. You take her into your arms, wanting to get her off the floor where she could be trampled by Bec or something.
“Casey!” Jade scolded. “John told you not to be down here without him!” Casey did nothing but gurgle in response.
“You can never win against a salamander, Jade,” you turn to her with a smile. “It’s just not mathematically possible.” Jade crosses her arms and sticks her tongue out at Casey with a small giggle.
“(Y/N), hey!” Someone says. Standing in the doorway that leads into the kitchen stood… Jake! Jade’s younger brother. A girl follows him out looking similar to Jude.
“Hey, Jake,” You wave at him. He walks over to where the two of you stood and the little girl followed. “I’m guessing you’re Joey, huh?” The little girl nods. Joey was another one of John’s cousins.
“Are you dating John?” Joey asked curiously.
“Yeah, I am!” You nod. Joey’s face falls and she beckons you down to her height. You lean down.
“Are you sure you can’t do better than him?” She whispered into your ear. “I mean, I know he seems cute now… but he’s such a doofus. It really seems like you can do better!” I laugh at her concern.
“I hope you’re not saying anything bad about me,” a voice says from the stairs. “Cause if you are, I’m screwed.”
Looking up, there stood John, like he was Cinderella or something. His glasses didn’t sit right on his face and he was wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater anyone has ever seen. Your face runs red as you smile up at him. You stand up from Joey and set Casey down on the floor before flinging yourself up the stairs and into his open arms.
“John!” You grin, setting your forehead on his shoulder.
“Awww!” Jade squeals from downstairs. “You two are so cute!” Looking down at everyone, you got mixed responses. Joey gives a so-so sign with her hand but Miss Claire smiled pleasantly. Jake gave John a thumbs up.
“Jeez, Jade,” John blushed. “Shut up.” Jade keeps on giggling while John looks back at you. “Have you met my dad and nanna yet?”
“No,” you shake your head, “but I have met Miss Claire, Grandpa Harley, Jude, Joey, Jane, and of course, Jake and Jade who I already know.”
“Man,” John shakes his head laughing, “you’ve met everyone except my dad and nanna. They’re very antsy to meet you, so we better hurry.” He takes your hand with his own warm one. Together you two practically flew down the stairs.
Together we walk past everyone and straight into the kitchen opening that Jake and Joey ducked out from. The smell of cake batter hits you and it’s twelve times worse than before. It hits John as well because both of you cover your noses making sour faces. Standing there is an older woman mixing cake batter and a professional-looking man holding a fully decorated cake. John clears his throat and they finally both turn to face us.
“Johnathan,” the older man spoke first, “is this (Y/N)?”
“Dad,” John groans out, “you know it’s just John. Yes, this is them. So please, don’t scare them off. I’m begging you.”
The older woman sits down the cake immediately and glides up to you, “hello, (Y/N), dear!” She throws her arms around you and pulls her down to her height. “It’s so good to meet you! We’re so glad John found you! We’ve all heard so much about you from him. He never stops talking about you!” John’s face flames red.
“It’s nice to meet you too, ma’am,” you stutter out from her tight grip.
“Oh, just call me Nanna, dear!” She chirps, finally letting go of you so you can gulp down some air. Next up was John’s dad with his hand out for a shake. I take his blistered hand into my own and give it a proper shake.
“That’s quite a good handshake you’ve got there,” he comments. “You can call me Mr. Egbert.”
“Thanks,” you smile back. “My dad always taught me that a strong handshake can make a lasting impression.”
“Smart man,” he mutters out before going back to decorating the cake.
“Alright, alright,” John’s face had luckily come down from the blush. “I’ve gotta go show (Y/N) something so we’ll be right ba-”
“(Y/N)!” Jade pushes herself into the kitchen, shoving John onto a chair next to him. She grabs onto your arm. “(Favorite Christmas Movie) is on! Let’s go!”
“I love that movie!” You gasp.
“I know!” Jade jumps up and down. “C’mon let’s go watch it!”
“Jade, uh-” you try to get out but she just wouldn’t listen. You were quickly dragged away from John who could barely stutter out for Jade to stop.
You were shoved down on the couch and Jade plops down right next to you. Miss Claire sat on a chair next to Jade. It was true that your favorite movie was on but truly, you would’ve liked to see what John had to how you. John stood behind you and you turned to say something to him, but Bec quickly jumps into your lap and steals the words away from you. When you turn around to talk to him again, John’s gone. You shrug it off, try to relax, and watch the movie.
-------
Everyone had ended up sitting in front of the TV, watching the movie. Grandpa Harley, Jude, and Jane all sat with red cheeks and noses. Jude decided to sit right next to you, questioning you on just about everything. Jake was joking with Jade, Jane sat next to your feet silently watching the TV, and Joey kept telling Jude to shut it and let you enjoy the movie. Grandpa Harley continued chatting on with Miss Claire and Nanna and Mr. Egbert was sitting there silently, watching the movie. Bec had fallen asleep in Jade’s lap and even Casey had tuckered out between Jude and you. The only one missing was John… you couldn’t help but wonder where he went. You hadn’t seen him since.
“Another question,” Jude says, leaning into view, “do you believe that there are really aliens in Area 51?”
“Oh, well…” you hum. “I mean, the truth is out there.”
There’s banging footsteps down the stairs and John finally appears and grabs you by your shoulders, “sorry, Jude! I have to borrow (Y/N) for a second. Okay? Okay.” He pulls you from the couch before anyone could complain and starts to drag you upstairs.
“John,” you laugh a bit with an amused smile on your face, “what are we doing?”
“Getting you away from my nuts family,” John jokes, as we walk into what you assumed was his room. It looked the same from when Rose, Dave, Jade, John, and you used to facetime while either of you went home for the weekends. Stupid movie posters, a magician’s chest, computer. It just screamed him. The two of you sat down on his bed.
“I have a gift for you,” you smile, staring into his eyes.
“Oh, really?” John smiles back. “I may or may not have one for you too.”
“The present better not be a stupid prank,” you chuckle, remembering how many times he’s pranked your friends and you. It was a joy.
“Of course not,” he promises.
“Okay, okay, mine first,” you say, grabbing into your jacket and bringing out the small gift. You pushed it into his hands and he beams.
John took a while trying to unwrap it. He got extremely confused by the ribbon for a moment but then got it and finally got the box open. In it, there were two gifts. The first gift he pulled out was a keychain. Engraved on it was a small lobster and the words ‘you are my lobster.’ John burst out laughing.
“I love it,” he chuckles out. He grabs his keys off the computer table and attaches it on.
“I’m glad,” you laugh along. He takes out the other present and unrolls the poster. A Con Air poster signed by Nicolas Cage, John Cusak, and John Malkovich. John lets out a squeak of excitement.
“Oh my God!” He jumps up, staring at it. “Seriously? Are you serious?”
“Yes, John,” you nod. “My uncle works somewhere in the movie field and I asked him if he could get this for you.”
“I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!” John puts the poster down and throws himself into your arms. “I love you! Oh my God!”
“I’m so glad you like it!” You laugh gripping onto his shoulders.
“Wait, okay, okay!” He pulls you up from the bed. “Come on, let’s go see your present.” John pulls you out onto what seems like deck from before. The telescope stood proudly there. “Look into the telescope.”
You move your head down so you can see through the telescope. A beautiful star stood proudly in the frame, “this is beautiful.” Your breath comes out in cold puffs.
“Hey, can you turn around real quick,” he asks. When you turn around a small folder was held in his hand. John bowed, offering you the folder. When you open it up, a few laminated papers sat in it. Looking at the front page, a star sits there. The same star you were looking at before. “Listen, I don’t want this to be too weird but-” Under the star was a name. Your name. He named a star after you.
You put a hand over your mouth before throwing your arms around him and kissing him, “I love it, John!”
“I’m so glad,” he laughs out, “cause I really thought that like, it would be weird and-”
“Well, it’s not,” you say. “This is adorable and I love it. Thank you so much.”
“Of course, anything for you,” he pats your back. “Now come on, let’s get back downstairs to my family. We don’t want them thinking I like, pushed you off the balcony or something.”

Little Monsters (1989)
Tumblr media
Little Monsters is awful. Finding witty ways to say it would be a waste of time. It’s irritating and mean-spirited. As I sat watching it, I cursed my commitment to seeing every movie I review all the way through to the end.
After moving to a new house and new school, Brian (Fred Savage) is miserable. His parents (Margaret Whitton and Daniel Stern) are always fighting, he’s getting blamed for every random thing that happens around the house, and his brother Eric (Ben Savage) keeps pestering him about monsters living under his bed. Then, Brian discovers that there IS a monster living under the bed. His name is Maurice (Howie Mandel) and he loves to pull pranks.
Little Monsters is an insufferable rip-off of Beetlejuice. The signs are all there. It was released one year after the famous Michael Keaton/Tim Burton movie. It features a morbid world filled with outrageous & creepy creatures. There’s a lot of foul, bordering on dark humor. Then, there's Maurice himself. The monster talks a lot, very quickly, and doesn’t quite grasp the rules of the human world.
Here's the difference, and what makes this less Beetlejuice than Beetlejuice 2. In the Tim Burton venture, Beetlejuice is not the main character. He’s not even a secondary character. He’s more of a plot point so outlandish and memorable he steals the show. Beetlejuice doesn’t overstay his welcome so he never actually becomes annoying but he would in a theoretical follow-up in which his popularity has made him the star. Boy does Maurice overstay his welcome. The guy’s so annoying the only way you can stay mentally unbroken by the 103-minute running time is by imagining yourself throttling the blue creature’s throat until it falls over dead.
There's no shortage of reasons to hate this film. How about... the premise? The world makes no sense whatsoever but nobody bothered to patch up the holes or ask questions because “It’s just a dumb kid’s movie”. The idea is that when children fall asleep, monsters from some place underground (we’ll call it Hell) sneak into their rooms to pull “pranks” they will be blamed for in the morning. We get to see the old “clear plastic wrap over the toilet bowl seat” but for the most part, these go from vandalism (setting up Brian’s bike to be run-over and destroyed) to hazardous to human health (replacing a boy’s apple juice with urine for example). Drawing all over someone’s walls and getting somebody else to take the blame isn’t a prank, it’s just being the equivalent to a matt of hair that’s clogging up your shower drain. Secondly, how are children still getting blamed for this? If monsters have been doing this for hundreds of years, children who were blamed for these pranks have grown up into adults. They wouldn't dismiss nightly vandalism as childhood fantasies! And to what end? It’s not like the monsters can just hang out in broad daylight and snicker as the kids get punished!
Maybe you remember liking this movie as a kid. You’re saying “oh come on, don’t try and be scientific about this one!”. Alright, let’s take your advice and see this is “dumb entertainment for children”. Are Maurice's numerous allusions to masturbation for kids? Are the frightening scenes for the little kids who will miss the half-dozen curses peppered throughout? Is that what you want your little angels to see?
Despite some colorful (and disgusting) characters thrown in, there’s no material here to enlighten a spark of creativity within the audience, no ambitions aside from making money at the expense of easily swayed rugrats, and no imagination whatsoever. I laughed two times during the movie, proving that even a broken clock can be right sometimes, but that doesn’t make this redeemable in any way whatsoever. Eventually out of exhaustion even the most stoic viewers will laugh at something.
The only thing I could compliment in Little Monsters are the costumes and special effects. They’re alright for a cheaply made movie like this. I hated it, and you should too on the principle that it’s nothing but a bunch of elements liberally borrowed from other, better movies and then stitched together with the gamble that Fred Savage (and his little brother, whom this film is clearly grooming to be a film star too) will blind you. I say no. No to children’s movies who take and give nothing in return and a resounding NO!!! to Little Monsters. (On VHS, January 6, 2016)

Tour Mom: Chapter 1
Quick A/N: I write fanfic on Wattpad pretty frequently, but I’ve decided to start it on Tumblr too. This page will primarily be MCR fanfic, which I’ve actually never written before so, we’ll see how this goes. Also, this fic takes place during the Black Parade era.
Warnings: None, except swearing if that counts.
Premise of series: fem!Reader x Gerard, basically following the relationship. But it’s a lot like the MCR x fem!Reader.
Word count: 1799
Gerard Way. Front man of the iconic 2000s rock band, My Chemical Romance. Known by many as one of the creators of the new era of rock, consisting of emo and punk themes. Having a unique voice with even uniquer songs and sounds paved the path for him to become a household names, in homes who had good taste in music. To you, he was your best friend of going on a decade, and boyfriend for half of those years.
Mikey Way. Bassist and shy guy within the band. Until you got to know him, then he became a chatter box. He could go on for hours and hours about whatever he thought of. His thoughts were basic, yet some were intriguing and could actually spark a decent conversation. Also, he was basically your brother. Your relationship with Gerard only grew that bond.
Ray Toro. Lead guitarist and the soft, nice guy of the band. Also, your best friend while touring. Ray was one of the kindest people you had ever met, he would give up all he had for the people he cared about. His hair was also great, which automatically made his better. He was, to be honest, the only other completely stable and mature individual beside you, and even then sometimes none of you could act like the civil adults you legally were. You and he would also secretly watch Food Network together.
Frank Iero. The absolute most chaotic, most childish, and most loveable individual. Guitarist for MCR, you and Frank got along very well. Usually he was busy eating something or making some dark jokes, either way he used his time in the most Frank way possible. He was secretly one of the sweetest people alive and breathing, always being able to lighten up someone’s day when it was needed most.
And then there was you. And Bob, but he was kinda irrelevant to be honest. He just kinda stayed in his lane, and you and him got along just fine. But back to you. You were technically not apart of the band, but behind the scenes you basically were. Most notably, you were Gerard’s girlfriend. But you were also the one that managed to keep the boys in line when you were away from home. You had to remind these full grown men to shower daily, to eat three meals, and to continue working on songs and not just sit and watch movies or TV all day. Without you, the tour would have been a mess behind the scenes.
“Mikey!” You called from the living room of the cramped bus.
“Yeah?” He called back from his bunk bed.
“Have you showered today?” You inquired. There was a pause which is all you needed to come to a conclusion. You sighed, “Go take a shower Mikey.” He lightly groaned, reluctantly rolling out from the mattress and walking to the even more cramped bathroom.
“Fine.” He grabbed a towel and new clothes, walking in and locking the door. Frank walked by, mouthing you a ‘thank you’. He was always big on hygiene, so were you, and so anytime you knew one of the boys had gone even a few hours past daily showering, you directed them to clean up. And they always did, reluctantly usually.
You were casually reading a book on the couch when Ray sat next to you, turning on the TV. So of course, you joined him. About 15 minutes later, after investing in one of the various cable channels you could find, you looked up to see Gerard staring you two down.
Initially, he was extremely jealous of the relationship you and Ray had. He was worried that you and Ray were more than just friends, which of course you weren’t. But, you and he had reassured your boyfriend that it was no more than just a close friendship. “Are you jealous again, Gee?” You pouted, almost making fun of him. Ray smirked. He rolled his eyes.
“I’m not jealous as much as I am worried.” Gerard now came up to you two, sitting on the arm of the couch next to you.
“Worried about what?” You looked up at him.
“That you two will run off into the sunset or some fucking fairytale shit like that.” Now it was time for you to roll your eyes.
“You’re very melodramatic sometimes, Gerard.” You told him, “We’ve been dating for five years and you still have suspicion that I’m going to run off with one of your friends.” Gerard was always extremely laid back. That was unless it was on the topic of you. Then he was protective and extremely alert.
You two were both very independent people, and your relationship reflected that. You two were never touchy feely, or too close, or too protective. Your romance  functioned much like a friendship, which you both preferred. “You know I’ll always love you, Gee. And only you.” You lightly smiled up at him, and he sighed giving in.
“I love you too.” He got up, walking back to his bunk where you knew he would probably work on some more sketched for the various comic works he had going.
Mikey finally reemerged from his shower in new clothes, heading to the small mini fridge and grabbing some carrots. “You eat all the damn food Mikey,” Frank complained from his bunk.
“I’m hungry.” He whined, taking a bite from one of the mini orange ones.
“I wish I had Mikey’s metabolism,” You began, “Eat whatever the hell you want and not gain an ounce.” “I know right,” Ray added on, “That would be nice.”
“What’re we talking about?” Gerard shouted from his bed.
“Mikey’s metabolism. And him stealing all the food.” Frank replied.
“Oh yeah, Mikey does have a great metabolism.”
“Speaking of, what do you guys want for dinner?” You asked, “I’m texting Brian right now.” Brian, as in the manager of course.
“Burgers.” Mikey and Gerard said at the same time. You looked at Ray for his opinion. “I’m good with that.” “So am I!” Frank called out.
“Me too.” Bob finally spoke up.
“So you’re not dead?” Frank responded, looking over to his bunk. You snorted.
“Alright, I’ll let him know so we can stop somewhere.” After shooting a quick text you got up heading to your own bunk to find yet another book, or graphic novel to read. Yours was right under Gerard’s, because that only made sense.
“What’cha doin?” Gerard poked his head down to see you. You rolled your eyes knowing he would pester you just to annoy you.
“You’re a pain in my ass.” You smiled at him, grabbing one of the Watchmen comics Gerard had generously lead to you, after nearly forcing you to finally read it.
You and Gerard actually met in a comic book store, you working there when you two were in college. A friendship sparked out of that, and later evolved to a romance. He scoffed as if in offense, resorting back to his top bunk. “If you’re going to be aggressive then I just won’t even try.”
“I’m not being aggressive,” You told him, “I’m being honest.” You could practically hear the eye roll from your boyfriend.
“Hey Mikey,” He had the audacity to bring his brother into it, “Am I a pain the the ass?” “Absolutely.” It took the man less than a second to answer, as if waiting to tell him, which let’s be honest, he probably was. You couldn’t help but give a soft chuckle, then giving a high five to Mikey as he walked past you to his own bed.
“Alright, the diner we’re stopping at is in about two hours you guys.” You said out loud, reading from the text Brian had sent you just a moment ago.
So for about an hour you all stayed relatively silent, shocking for all of you, except Bob. And sometimes Mikey, depending on his mood really. But for awhile you occasionally heard huffs and groans from above you. “Hey Gee?” You asked.
“Hm?” He responded.
“What’re you working on?” You heard him sigh.
“Concepts.” “Yeah, but what sort of concepts?”
“Just for a new comic.” “Lemme see.” You rose your hand up to take it, which he handed to you.
“These look great.” You complimented, skimming your fingers over the bright array of colors on his paper. “What’s the idea?” You asked.
“I’m thinking of the groups being called the Killjoys,” He began, going into a long shortened explanation.
“I love it.” You said and handed it back to him, “I think it’ll go a long way.” “Thanks.” He said and presumably continued.
Another hour of reading and light conversation passed before you finally reached one of the various road side diners you all ate at. Brian had ordered ahead, so everyone just ran in to grab their order, him of course paying. No time could be wasted on the road.
So there, the six of you sat on the couches in the tightly cramped bus, eating out of plastic containers. Gerard reached over, ripping off a piece of one of your chicken tenders, and dunking it in the ranch you got. You immediately fought back taking a bite of his burger and placing it right back.
“I can’t fucking wail ‘till we’re in a hotel.” Frank said out of the blue. Everyone nodded and hummed agreeing, too busy with their food to talk back.
“When’re we in one next?” You asked. It was rare when you were ever in one, and usually after extended periods of time and when shows were spaced out longer than one to two days you got that luxury.
“4 shows, so 6 days.”
“Finally.” Mikey almost murmured.
“Now Gerard can fuck Y/N senseless in peace and quiet.” Franks smirked. You chocked on your food as Gerard confidently nodded.
“Hell yeah.” You slapped his arm.
“Don’t deny it Y/N,” Frank said again, “It’s bound to happen.” You rolled your eyes.
“You’re absurd.” You got up to throw away your now empty food container, going to wash your hands briefly, and climbing in bed as the guys cleaned up their own food.
It was already late, and despite the even later curfews everyone had, most of the last hours of the night were all spent in your personal cubbies doing whatever you all pleased.
“Goodnight, babe.” You heard Gerard above you.
“Night, Gee.” You smiled.
“Goodnight, baby.” You heard Frank yell from his own cubby which prompted a lot of soft chuckling and laughter.
“Love you too, Frank.” You responded.
“Not even an ‘I love you’ to your actual boyfriend?” Gerard poked his head down. You rolled your eyes, giving him a peck on the lips despite how his face was upside down.
“I love you.”

Word Count: ~1900
Tumblr media

Note: This a short fic written for @homeformyheart choices potluck event. I have written this for @gamechoices-player! I'm sorry because this took so long, and I hope you enjoy reading it! Fic under the cut!
***
A week before Christmas
"You mean none of yours fully matches with my calendar?" Washington says with a slight frown on his face as he looks down on all the schedule cards laid down on the table. Ethan, Bryce, and Raf all sat in front of him. Ethan just nods at this while the other two shrugs, giving him a smile.
"It's not that bad! We all have a common holiday with you, and we will spend it together." Rafael says trying to ease the mood in the room. It is night anyway, and it is cold outside. A little warmth inside would definitely help in one way or another.
"Right, spend it together, but not you three at once." Sighing, Washington leans back on the couch.
Bryce immediately moves to sit beside him, 'We all know us four can't be absent from Edenbrook. They need the best staff out there, don't they?"
True enough, they already expected this. And yet, Washington can't help but feel sad. Maybe he is just feeling greedy, but it's their first Christmas together! And it needa to be spent with them altogether, which seems impossible now that only him and Ethan have the Christmas free on their calendars.
"Let's just make the most out of it, hmm?" Ethan says suddenly, making all of them nod.
"I guess it'll do." Washington shrugs, and they all laid out some plans together before they decided to call it a day.
Six days before Christmas
"Good morning, babe." Bryce greets as soon as he opens his eyes. Washington smiles at him, basking in the feeling of having a complete eight-hour sleep without feeling guilty about it.
Maybe I can sleep some more.
Bryce must've noticed his intention to slip back into sleep, which is why the man had immediately placed a quick peck on his lips, lightly tapping his cheeks in the process. Washington groans but proceeds to look at the man though, one eyebrow raised in question. Bryce laughs at him before finally reminding him of their agenda for today, "I believe we need to head into the mall, your majesty."
Washington playfully hits the latter's chest at the nickname, but he gets up anyway, heading straight into the shower. Bryce followed in after a few minutes. And together, they showered, got dressed, and left the penthouse to the mall. Hand in hand, and with happy smiles in their faces.
Maybe this isn't so bad afterall.
It really wasn't much. As always, he enjoyed going out into the mall with Bryce. The activity was very usual for the two of them, but somehow, today was a little different. Maybe it was the continuous christmas songs playing on the radio, or the cold winter air that wraps them. Whatever it is, it sure brought a smile to both of their faces. So Washington is thankful.
The day went by quickly. Before he even knew it, Bryce was leading him into the parking lot as they push a cart full of christmas decorations approaching their car. His boyfriend smiles at him, the kind of smile that is sure to make everyone swoon- him included. Then something in his brain snaps, and his eyes grew wide.
"You forgot to buy your gift!" Washington says.
"Did I? I didn't." Bryce says and shrugs.
"But I did not see you?"
"It is called a surprise for a reason, babe." Bryce chuckles squeezing his hands.
"You've got a point."
And now that the worry is dropped, the two enters the car. Finally driving off home as the sun slowly sets on the east side.
Four days before Christmas
It was once again, Washington's free day. Today he shares it with Rafael. There is really nothing much to do, but to continue decorating the tree and placing the gifts underneath it.
It didn't last long, a few hours after they both woke up, Rafael is already placing the star on top of the tree. And it is the last of the trinkets they'd have to put. Now there's only a few things missing– the gifts.
"You got your gifts already?" Washington asked looking at Raf who is smiling brightly at him as they make themselves comfortable on the floor, sitting beside the tree.
"I got it a few days ago actually." Rafael shrugs, "Can I go and get it first so we can place it under the tree now?"
"Of course, love." With this, Rafael stands and walks into their room. Only to return with four gift bags in hand. On each one hangs a gift tag with their names on it, including his own. "You got one for yourself, too?"
"Yes, I did." Rafael says as he puts them under the tree. Then he immediately return to Washington's side and wrapped his arms around the man. "How are you feeling about holidays so far?"
"Great. I have you guys, what's not to feel good about?" Washington says and smiles at the latter before he leans his head into Raf's shoulders, "How about you?"
"The same as you." Rafael says simply as casts yet another bright smile.
Together, they adore the tree that stands in their living room, now fully decorated with red and gold trinkets. For people who aren't feeling Christmassy, it looks nice. Washington thought. And just like that, they are ready for Christmas.
Two days before Christmas
"Why are you up so early?" Washington asked as he strides into their kitchen, seeing Ethan wearing his dark blue apron on, and his hands are already so busy kneeding a large dough.
Washington approaches the man, he stands beside the latter.
"To finish preparing for christmas eve," Ethan answers before he looks up meeting the younger's sleepy eyes. Ethan's eyes visibly softens, before he leans in to kiss the younger on the forehead. "why are you up so early?"
"Looking for warmth." He says truthfully and shrugs. Ethan chuckles at this.
"It's good that breakfast is already ready then." The older man says, briefly leaving the though to get a plate of food on the other counter.
"Will you eat with me?" Washington asked as the man placed the food on the island closest to him.
"No, I already ate with Raf and Bryce earlier."
"Understandable."
Ethan just hums in response as his focus completely falls back into the cookie dough. Washington sits on the kitchen bar stool, eating what the older man had served him. It was their usual bacon and fries, but with the mash potato that he loves so much at the side.
"Are you making christmas cookies?" Washington asked as he recognized a santa cookie cutter. It's fairly new, they didn't have it before.
"Indeed, I am," The latter smiles at him. "Sienna had told me that you liked her cookies, so I'm making it all for you now."
"You're really so sweet."
"I believe the cookie deserves that compliment instead."
Chuckling, Washington returned back to eating. And the whole day was spent with Ethan just continuously preparing foods, after another. Washington helps him whenever he can. It was a fun day, all in all. Specially when Washington gets to steal a few cookies and kisses from time to time.
And no, this holiday wasn't bad at all.
Christmas Eve
Washington sighs as the last patient in the emergency room was assessed. It was nothing serious, and he was so glad that the patient was just dehydrated. So it really wasn't much. Finally, the emergency room is now empty, they can atleast take a little rest.
Heading straight into Ethan's office, he can already see his boyfriends through the glass walls. Once he enters the room, the three smiled at him, and it is only then that he noticed their clothes. The three are wearing the same christmas sweaters, and yes, even Ethan Ramsey is wearing it with a smile.
"What's all of this about?" He asked, making his way to sit at the empty chair in the middle of Raf and Bryce, facing the older man.
"Raf's gift to us. It looks good, isn't it?" Bryce said with a grin on his face, while Washington unwraps the gift Raf had handed him earlier.
"It is good," Washington says, smiling at the thought and slipping the sweater on. "Thanks, love."
"You are most welcome."
They spent a few minutes more talking with each other. And when Washington yawns, Bryce had immediately stood, looking at his clock, "I belive our shift is over now." He says, looking over the man beside him before he smiles at the other two, "Enjoy working on Christmas Eve, you two."
"My gift would be at home." Ethan suddenly says and smiles, "You two will see it first. Raf will see it in the morning when our shift is over."
"Of course."
"Take care, you two." Rafael says and stand to give each of them a peck on the cheek. Washington does the same for Raf and Ethan.
The ride home wasn't long, especially when Washington's view is of Bryce smiling widely on the driver's seat. It was a sight that can absolutely treat sore eyes. They immediately enter the apartment once they arrived, seeing the cookie jars resting on the coffee table with each their names on it. The cookies in the jars are each different. Bryce had chocolates in them since he loves it.
'I hope these will be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. Merry Christmas.'
Both of them smiles at this, at least now they will not pester Sienna for sugar cookies. And it was a very thoughtful gift. That being said, Washington's eyes immediately went to the man happily munching on one of the cookies.
"Where's your gift?" He asked Bryce, opening his jar of cookies to do the same.
"Under the tree," Bryce paused and smiled, 'and also hanged on our door." He says pointing at their bedroom door where a mistletoe hangs.
"Did you seriously get a mistletoe for a gift?"
"Why not when it will earn me kisses?"
"You know you could just ask." Washington shrugged.
"Now, where's the fun in that?" Bryce said and the latter nods at him.
"In the morning then, so we will all be here. Now can we take a shower and rest? I'm literally so tired." Washington says and leans back on the sofa.
"Alright then."
And on Christmas morning, when Washington awoke, he finds all three of his boyfriends sleeping beside him. Ethan and Raf must have arrived a few hours earlier. Bryce stirs and smiles at Washington before he stood and got the mistletoe out of the door, placing it on top of their bed instead.
"Good morning." Bryce says and smiles, placing a tender kiss on his forehead.
"A mistletoe kiss on the forehead?"
"It will do for a while, extremes later?" He playfully said before he leans down to do the same for Ethan and Raf. "Now, we should go to work."
"You're probably right."
With this, Washington followed Bryce into the kitchen, preparing for work. And as Bryce prepares for breakfast, Washington sat in the dining room, thinking about everything that happened during the holidays. It's Christmas, and they are all together, it's the only gift he ever needs.
And despite their schedules not matching, his boyfriends were still able to find a way to spend time together. So no, this holiday isn't bad at all.
END.

Genre: Fluff and some mild angst (You’d have to squint to see it!)
Pairing: Calum Hood/Male Reader
Word Count: 1.5k
Includes: Smoking and mentions of hickies. No major trigger warnings.
A/N: This is one of my first pieces that I’m publishing, so, I hope that you guys enjoy it. I would love, love, love feedback. I only briefly edited this so please excuses all spelling errors. Thank you <3
```
It was another slow morning. You never wanted to leave. Duke seemed to feel the same way. The spacious studio apartment was starting to feel a lot like home. It was hard to admit that when you lived with your best friend on the other side of town. Everything about Calum's place was comforting, though. The way his blankets always seemed to be extra warm, and his neighbours who absolutely admired you two together. You couldn't keep count of the compliments you got from the elderly lady across the way.
The smell of cigarettes lingered throughout the room which was something you always noted. Calum never smoked inside due to the fact that you were the one trying really hard to quit the vice. He was trying to cut down, too, but it was bit harder for him. His bandmates encouraged him to knock it off, but sometimes, their words meant nothing to him. The smell was coming from the coat he always wore out. It smelt like Camel Crushes, mint and tobacco. Whenever you exchanged small kisses, the taste lingered, too. That didn't bother you as much as he assumed it did.
Without trying to wake you up from your peaceful sleep, Calum slipped out of your arms, but that quick movement was enough to disrupt you. You instinctively winded your arms tighter around the waist of your boyfriend. Incoherently, you mumbled something. Calum couldn't help but chuckle at your state of being. A few seconds later, you decided to repeat yourself,
"Where do you think you're goin'?" You asked, fingers curled gently into the skin on his stomach. Calum tried not to giggle. He hated admitting it, but yes, big ole' intimidating Calum was in fact ticklish. If the news was to get out, it would be all over for him and his aggressive exterior. It was a little secret concealed by his small friend group, you included.
"Water, I'm thirsty," He stated.
You made a noise of disapproval, keeping him anchored to the bed. Duke had yet to wake up from his peaceful slumber on the floor, in the dog bed that you graciously bought. It was dark blue and a bit too large for the small pup but he enjoyed it, nonetheless. Calum insisted you didn't need to buy it, but, the old one was a bit too worn out for your liking. Duke seemed to favour you a bit more after the purchase.
Together you laid for a little longer until Calum positively had to get up. He wiggled out of your grip with success this time and stood up. The sweatpants covering his lower half belonged to you and the hickies placed carelessly on his neck belonged to you, too. A small gift, as you phrased it last night while he rolled his eyes. It wasn't distasteful, but the Maori boy covered them up always before seeing his friends or he wouldn't hear the end of it.
"Plans," You spoke from the bed while Calum stood behind the kitchen counter, filling up a glass with water, "Do you have any plans for today? Or do I get to be with you?"
He shook his head in response, "Gotta go to the studio later… Tracking vocals and whatnot, mostly mine and Luke's. You could come, if you'd like, just couldn't be distracting."
"Nah, 'is alright… Think I have an appointment today with some girl, unless she cancelled."
Calum started the coffeepot for you two as he leaned against the counter, watching how Duke slept and you stared at him, like he wouldn't notice. You weren't very good at being subtle even if you tried. It couldn't be marked as a skill by any means. If you were staring, it was recognised, and you liked it that way. Sure, Luke pretended to gag sometimes, but Calum resorted to flipping him off. Mornings were typically spent with few words and more movements than anything. Calum did this and you did that; Duke sat around and watched because you know, he's a dog.
After coffee was brewed and you were properly dressed, you two sat on the balcony, a cigarette in one of  his hands and a coffee in the other. He already scolded you for trying to sneak one so really, it was just him enjoying coffee and cigarettes. He had managed to cut down his smoking since meeting you but it still wasn't good. The Maori only picked up a pack when he was burdened or overthinking, which was a lot more often than you'd think.
When he set the lit cigarette in the ashtray, you reached over to attempt to pick it up. You were met with a smack to the hand.
"You know you're not supposed to do that."
He didn't sound disappointed but rather concerned than anything. He was constantly informing you that it was bad, but it was pretty hypocritical of him. If anything, keeping your boyfriend fit was a goal. Some would possibly view it as controlling, but you guys looked out for each other.
"You just told me how you have to track vocals today. Really think smoking is going to help make you sound better?" You retorted, making Calum sink down a bit in his seat.
Right now, you sounded a lot like the other three boys in his band. Ashton was the one who was constantly on his ass about it. Since the start of his own sobriety, he has been trying to get Calum to quit, too. It was a bit harder, though, because he had been smoking since he was a teenager. The first time he was caught was by Mail-Koa, his older sister. She wasn't delighted with the sight, advising him to put it out before their mom came out to the backyard. Around that time, he started playing on a soccer team.
He was phenomenally excellent at said sport, even got a few chances to go big, but instead he followed his heart and did music. That's how he ended up in LA with his three most beloved friends, on the other side of the country, anyway from everything familiar.
Calum sighed but it wasn't bothered. He should be thankful you didn't pester him even more for making questionable health decisions like this. He slumped down further in the chair and looked out over the city in front of you. It was beautiful, and he could get used to this. You guys had only been dating for a few months but this felt more right than anything.
"When can you move in?" He blurted out, instantly wanting to smack himself in the head as soon as the words came out in a sentence. It sounded a lot like a demand.
You snorted, glancing over at your boyfriend who was promptly a few shades pinker than usual, "Woah there Hood, didn't think that would be the topic of this morning," You teased shamelessly.
"Ignore me – Oh God, this is so embarrassing. I really didn't, well I do, but uh — I'm going to shut up."
He felt small and foolish, wanting to curl up into a ball and then disappear directly afterwards. Nothing in his head was able to sum up what he said simply enough to take it back. He couldn't even play it off as a joke because he was serious. Everything in him wanted you to move in here with him and take this next step together. Not like it was marriage or anything extreme. That thought was almost as scary as when Calum introduced you to his friends. He was expecting backlash but didn't get it.
"Hey, no, babe… If you're prepared for that, so am I. It already feels like I live here. I mean, I have my own drawer in your dresser. I'm sure the shower is filled with my beauty products, as well." You offered him a smile, signalling he could relax. Calum felt like melting into the floor.
"You mean that?" He asked meekly, accent thick when he questioned it.
"Of course, Calum. I'd be genuinely happy if I finally moved in. I'd never have to go back to mine."
The boy nodded, thinking. He didn't know how he was supposed to bring this up with the boys, but this was what he desired. He wanted sleepy mornings and late nights. You wanted to be able to leave things here without worrying about picking it up again. Both of you wanted to wake up in each others arms every morning.
"Okay," Calum ultimately said, nodding to himself, "Yeah, I really want to do this… We can, we can set away a weekend to collect your stuff and move it here. It's probably not a lot but, yeah."
You leaned over and clutched Calum's hand, stroking your thumb over the boys tattoo. It was one that you didn't get to do, but you loved it just the same; a set of initials for both parents on his hands. This had to be one of the pleasantest mornings spent together. There were multiple others to compare to, but this one made Calum feel complete, solidified and whole.
With you, he already felt like he was on top of the world, but now he was going to feel invincible since you never had to leave his side at night again.
OFFICE PARTIES SUCK SPIN OFF
Tumblr media
word count : 3.3k
warnings : hints at smut, swears in french (so basically nothing as usual) x
author’s note : hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii it’s been a while sorryyyyyy. reader and miles do talk in french but only a word at a time so i put the english translation next to it in case you didn’t know what it meant :)
also the whole spin off thing is that i’ll post each part as different months, leading up to joe and grace’s wedding. i don’t want to spoil anything but these parts are just to give you an idea of reader and ben’s relationship :)
please don’t forget to like and reblog
December 31st - 11 months, 15 days until Grace and Joe’s Wedding
You could safely say the past month has been the best month of your life. It had been 3 weeks since yours and Ben’s first date and you felt yourself falling for him more and more each day. Over Christmas, Ben went back to his family is Dorset. You weren’t on good terms with your family so you would usually spend Christmas with Miles and his family in France. Before Ben left, the two of you made your relationship official - he was your boyfriend.
You and Miles didn’t have a big conversation so you were still unaware of why he was so mad at you before your big date with Ben but it was all under the rug now. You’d spent a lovely Christmas together, just like always. Ben was due back today and you were going to have a second Christmas / New Year’s together at yours.
You’d only known Ben just shy of a month so at first you were completely clueless as to what to get him as a present. After a lot of pestering Joe, you finally felt satisfactory with the present you’d bought.
Benny ;) - Hey babe, I’m just leaving. See you in a little bit. X
Your heart warmed as you read the message - you loved waking up to his messages. Waking up to them was frequent, he always woke up early to go to the gym or go running and as you were on holiday, well, you slept in. The text was sent almost an hour ago, meaning you had about an hour and a half until Ben arrived. You jumped out of bed, excited to see your boyfriend.
God you loved calling him that.
You stepped into the shower, toes flinching as they touched the cold ceramic floor. You turned the dial, hissing as you released the steaming drops. Your eyes fell closed and you thought about the last day you were with Ben before he left.
“I want to make it to my mum’s before dark, but we have time to get lunch, right?” He shouted to you from your bed. You popped your head round the door. His eyes fell to your body which was wrapped tightly in a small white towel that fell to the middle of your thighs.
“You’re having a shower?” He asked.
You let out a laugh and if this were a cartoon Ben would have hearts popping out from his eyes and his ears would’ve pricked up at what he could only describe as angelic.
“No baby, this is my outfit for today.” You said sarcastically, rolling your eyes.
“We could- you know- shower together.” He suggested cooly, “I’m pretty big on saving the environment.”
You stepped into the room and walked over to the bed. Once your knees hit the end of the covers, you crawled over to where Ben was sitting, his arms behind his head, muscles flexing slightly as you moved towards him.
“Me too, what, with all that water saving.” You said, biting your lip then releasing it before he kissed you hungrily. Hard as it was to break from his kiss, you pulled away -saying nothing- and went back to the bathroom. Ben followed behind, eagerly.
You let out a sigh at the thought. You continued to wash away any thought of Ben before you got too carried away.
Once you were wrapped in a fluffy new towel and back in your room you noticed a missed call from Grace. Placing your phone on speaker, you called her back and started to dry yourself as the ringer filled the room.
“Hey babycakes.” Grace said, picking up after a few dial tones.
“Hi boo, how’s things?” You heard Joe shout from the background.
You giggled, “What’s up guys?”
Grace answered as you tugged on your jeans and one of the shirts Ben had left. You inhaled his scent, suddenly unable to contain how excited you were to see him.
“We were thinking of leaving in about thirty minutes? Just gotta pick Ben up on our way to yours. Will Miles be there?”
“Oh, G, I think you have it wrong. Ben’s drivin-”
“Sorry, hunny, gotta dash. See you later.”
You brushed it off, and grabbed your phone. Sitting at your vanity table, you put on your morning playlist and began brushing your hair. Looking back at you in the mirror was someone happy, which was weird to look at. You weren’t used to it. For months prior you had been so miserable - getting kicked off your record label, and other contributing factors. Your eyes caught the guitar sitting where you and Ben left it a month ago. You shook your head before continuing to brush through your knotty hair. Your gaze kept wandering back to the guitar though, and you were unable to shake the thought of picking it back up. Your hairbrush hit your vanity with a clutter, as you put it down and made your way to your bed.
Your fingers traced the neck of the guitar. You sat it across your legs and strummed it once, gently. Completely relishing in the familiar feeling of the cold metal against your calloused fingertips, you started to play a little tune. Your fingers brushed against each fret as you moved your hand up and down the neck. You were so carried away in the sweet acoustics that you didn’t notice Ben standing in your doorway, arms crossed and a slight smile painted against his lips. You almost jumped when you saw him.
“Miles let me in,” he said, watching you scrabble to put the guitar away, “please, don’t stop on my account.”
Your fingers hesitated before picking the instrument back up and resting it on your lap, plucking at the strings mindlessly. The bed dipped as Ben sat beside  you, kissing you gently in greeting. You hummed against his pink lips.
“Guess I lost track of time.” You said, trying to pull him closer into you, but failing miserably. You could hear the buttons of his shirt clinking against the copper strings of the guitar. Your hands grabbed each side of his collar and pulled him back onto your lips.
“Keep it PG you two.” Grace walked into your bedroom, without knocking. You carefully put your guitar on your bed and ran over to Grace.
You squealed her name, flinging your arms around her neck and hugging her tightly. She took your hand and began to drag you in the direction of the stairs. You shot Ben an apologetic smile before she dragged you off. Ben heard your angelic laugh ripple through the hall as you left.
You followed closely behind Grace into the living room where Joe and Miles were sat underneath the Christmas tree. You and Miles had decorated it at the beginning of December. Each year, you had a theme and this year it was white and blue; the bright blue baubles complimented the sparkling white tinsel. Miles insisted that you hung up chocolates on the tree even though they never made it past Christmas; they were way too tempting.
“Hey Joe.” You said, joining Grace and sitting next to the abundance of presents next to the tree. Yours were all wrapped up neatly, each topped off with delicate little bows.
Ben had followed you both downstairs and sat on the other side of you. He passed you a small wrapped box and you giggled in endearment at the sellotape that stuck to your finger as a result of his poor wrapping skills. You planted a hasty kiss on his lips.
As the five of you were now all sat cross legged around the Christmas tree, you began to hand around the presents. Grace was leaned into Joe, a steaming mug of hot chocolate in her hands. You were all smiling appreciatively at each other and you relished in the feeling of being surrounded by your best friends, feeling full now that Ben was a part of that, slipping in easily as if he’d always been there.
“How is it that I’m the only single one now?” Miles moaned, looking around at the two couples.
Laughing at him, you patted his knee gently, “You’ll get there eventually buddy.”
“Very patronising, Belle.” He smiled sarcastically.
“Salaud.” {Bastard} You giggled, pushing your arm playfully as Miles stuck his tongue out. Miles’ attention immediately returned to his pile of presents and Grace who was calling his name.
Ben watched the interaction, suddenly feeling like an outsider, a wave of jealousy washing over him as you and Miles playfully conversed, in a language he didn't understand. Ben tugged at your sleeve, drawing your attention back to him. You smiled so warmly at him and all the feelings of jealousy he previously had immediately dissipated. Ben said nothing and kissed you quickly. Despite being in a room of people, you felt like it was just the two of you, just you and Ben; and that’s exactly how you wanted it.
Grace called your name and you turned towards her, breaking eye contact with Ben. She started modelling the scarf Miles had bought her. Ben watched the two of you engross over the material and design. He laughed when he caught Joe rolling his eyes, mouthing “women” when Joe noticed Ben laughing at him.
It was finally yours and Ben’s turn to open your presents to each other. You began to feel worried, in case Ben wouldn’t like the gift. Once Ben opened the envelope and his emerald eyes sparkled as he skimmed over the letter - you doubts disappeared. His eyes met yours.
“Tickets to see Stevie Nicks? Really?” He spoke, in barely a whisper.
When you nodded, you swore he almost choked. He dropped the envelope and clambered over all the discarded wrapping paper to embrace you tightly.
“Baby, that’s amazing!” He mumbled into your ear, “Thank you.”
Ben released you and you both quickly realised everyone watching you intently. Your cheeks flushed pink, overwhelmed but mostly just happy Ben had liked your gift. You winked at Joe - after all he had given you the tip off that Ben would have liked the concert.
“Open mine,” Ben said, “although it's kinda naff compared to that.”
Carefully, you picked at the sellotape on your gift. Tearing the paper, you unveiled the present. A book. You turned it around to reveal a picture of you and Ben on the front. In the picture, your camera was set up in front of the window, so when you and Ben had stood in front of it, morning light streamed across your faces. Ben was shirtless in the picture as he leaned into you, tongue stuck out playfully. Your face almost mirrored his, your hand rested on his cheek, gently moving his face closer to yours. Your shoulder was tilted slightly towards the camera.
The photo made you break out into an uncontrollable smile and when you looked over at Ben, you noticed him smiling too, blushing furiously as he watched you react to his present. The rest of the book was filled with pictures of the two of you; on your first date, pictures of all of you. It was the most thoughtful present anyone had ever given you. He hadn’t just ordered the book online - each picture had been printed out and stuck to each page artistically. Underneath every photograph was a caption written in Ben’s scrawly handwriting. You carefully flipped through, reading each caption. Your favourite was underneath the picture of you, Ben and Frankie.
Frankie, the small beagle, had her nose across your face, so you were peering out slightly from behind her head, your cheeks creasing due to the smile on your face. Your arm was around Frankie’s neck gently. Ben was the other side of you, arm extended out to take the photo. His lips were pressed to your cheek, his eyelashes kissing your smooth skin as his eyes shut gently. This caused the photo to be a little wonky, and blurry. The caption read, “My girls,” with a little dog drawn by Ben next to it.
Ben had been so nervous for you to meet Frankie.
You identified the small figure walking towards you as Ben. He grew bigger as he walked towards you, a small dog bounding along beside him, stopping every now and then to sniff something. As they got to you, you kneeled down to greet Frankie. She jumped up at you, resting her paws on your knees. She panted excitedly, gratefully accepting the scratches behind her ears.
“Hi puppy!” You said, unsure of who was more excited to meet who - giving her a small kiss on the nose, Frankie licked your face as a response. You stood back up, letting Frankie sniff around your feet, and faced Ben.
“Well hello to you too,” he said, “do I get that kind of greeting?”
You laughed - music to his ears - and placed your hands on his cheeks. You scratched the back of his ears, like you would to Frankie.
“Hi Benny.” You cooed, your voice raising by an octave. Frankie, jealous of the attention Ben was getting, whined gently at your feet, tugging on her lead.
“Ready to walk this little monster?” Ben asked taking your hand and holding it in his own. You both began to walk, Frankie happily leading the way.
“I’m glad you like each other.” Ben said after a while, stopping in the middle of the path, causing you to smile. You looked at him and then down at Frankie, wondering how on earth you were lucky enough to have found them both.
“Ben, this is the most amazing present.” You wiped a tear from your cheek. “Thank you.”
He blushed furiously and everyone laughed when he tried to hide it. Grace clapped her hands loudly, drawing attention to her which Ben was visibly grateful for.
“Who’s going to help me prepare fake-mas dinner?” She looked at you suggestively, eyes widening. It really wasn’t a question. You were going to help her.
You followed her into the kitchen after placing a small kiss on Ben’s lips and thanking him again for the present.
She began to whisper as soon as you got there, “So, you and Ben, spill the beans.”
You giggled. Then stopped yourself. Were you twelve?
“There aren’t any beans that haven’t already been spilt on the phone,” you said, taking out a knife and beginning to chop up potatoes.
“But the goss is always better face to face,” Grace replied, with her head in the freezer.
“G, you know he’s right there?” You said, gesturing to the living room. This caused Joe to look up from the sofa where the boys had now moved to. He pointed to himself. You shook your head and turned to Grace.
“No more talking about it when these nosy hoes are around, okay?”
 She held her hands up in surrender and you both laughed it off, continuing to prepare the fake-mas dinner.
***
It had taken a while but your dinner was finally complete. You were all sat around the table, candles scattered around, surrounded by decorative ivy and leftover Christmas crackers.
In front of you, was, by your standards, quite a glorious feast. As you and Grace didn’t eat meat, there was no turkey or chicken. Grace had made a vegetarian Wellington and lots of roast vegetables. The dinner was spent laughing, chatting, everyone getting to know Ben better; you were happy. For the first time in a long time, you were happy.
Ben was a major factor. You looked over at him, stuffing a potato, drowned in gravy, in his mouth and wondered what you did to be lucky enough to call him yours. He noticed your staring and placed his hand on your leg. His hand warm. He gave you a stuffed smile, his cheeks almost bursting, making you laugh.
“This is so good.” Joe said, talking to you.
Grace looked offended, “Hey, she barely did anything!”
“Ladies, no need to fight.” Joe laughed.
You rolled your eyes playfully, and held your Christmas cracker out for Grace.
Life is finally good.
***
20 minutes to Midnight
“Perfect timing.” Miles said at the end credits of the movie you were all watching, “Shall I prepare drinks?”
You hummed in agreement, “I’ll help.”
Pushing Ben’s legs off yours, you stood and followed Miles. The kitchen was lit up by the Christmas lights streaming in from the living room, and the string of fairy lights you’d draped over the window. You and Miles rifled through cupboards for things to add to your homemade cocktails.
“Milesy, you could use the cocktail kit I got you.” You said, hitting his arm at the realisation.
He hit your arm back, “I actually forgot about that.”
A shiver ran down your arm.
“Go get it then, connard.” {Asshole}.
He stuck his tongue out in response, and turned to run up the stairs.
15 minutes to Midnight
Ben waited until Miles had run up the stairs, and you were busying yourself in the kitchen. He turned to Joe.
“OK, what’s the actual deal between those two?” He whispered, “Like, they talk in their own little language.”
Grace overheard.
“I’m pretty sure 250 million other people speak it too, Ben” She whispered back, leaning into their conversation.
Ben sighed, “You know what I mean.”
“I wouldn’t worry about it mate.” Joe said.
“Yeah,” Grace intercepted, “They liked each other years ago.”
Both Joe and Ben looked at her.
“What?”
10 minutes to Midnight
“Got ittttttt.” Miles sang terribly. He laughed at your cringed face. “Well, there’s a reason you’re the singer and not me.”
You rolled your eyes, “Was.”
Miles brushed it off, not saying anything and continued to make the cocktails. Music was playing faintly from the old radio in your kitchen. Yourself and Miles had bought it when in France together at an old vintage market. It had practically been love at first sight, and you knew you had to buy it.
You subconsciously started to sway your hips in time to the music as you cut up some blood oranges. Miles noticed, and turned up the music. As the song progressed, the two of you started to dance, and sing along. Miles took your hand and spun you around, causing a roar of laughter to escape your lips.
You’d missed this.
5 minutes to Midnight
“I mean, seriously?” Ben whined as you laughed loudly.
The three of them looked over to where you and Miles were dancing in the kitchen.
Grace hit Joe’s arm gently, “Oh, come on you two. We were dancing while making dinner and I’m sure none of you made little comments.”
Joe shrugged, “It’s not really the same babe.”
Ben nodded in agreement.
“Of course it’s the same. Her and I are best friends. Her and Miles are best friends. Same thing.”
“What are you guys whispering about?” You said, walking over, still on a laughing high.
Grace, Joe and Ben all looked up at you, guilty looks on their faces. You were juggling three cocktails in your small hands, and held them out to your friends. You sat back down between Joe and Ben. Your legs rested between Bens. Miles walked over and passed you a tall glass.
“Merci.” You said, taking it.
On the TV was the Big Ben concert for New Year, a yearly tradition for you and Miles to watch. All the big celebrities would perform and then fireworks would be set off behind the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament in London. This year you weren’t too bothered about who was performing but still watched it for the countdown.
Ben leant in to whisper in your ear, “This New Year is all about us, OK? No distractions.”
You looked up at him.
He continued, “I really like you.”
“I really like you too.”
3, 2, 1…
“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!” Grace, Joe and Miles shouted, standing up and hugging each other.
Your lips met Ben’s. His spare hand worked its way around your body. You felt him smile into the kiss. He pulled away, resting his forehead on yours.
“Happy New Year, baby.”
may i request a full fic of idol!reader where they accidentally reveal they’re dating yuto? 🥺
Hello!!! Super sorry for taking so long to get this out. This is actually the first request I’ve gotten on this blog, especially with a small following like mine.
I’ve been wondering for a while how I’m going to approach this, because I want to be as realistic in my writing as possible. I did a little research on dating bans in the K-pop industry, and based on the stuff I found, Cube doesn’t really have a dating ban. But with what happened with Hyuna and Dawn, I wanted to be careful (even if it is fiction, and creative liberties are a thing). There’s conflicting narratives that come into play here, and since I’m still not sure if Cube has a dating ban or not, I couldn’t follow the request to a T. Sorry about that :((.
But here is my attempt at fulfilling your request, as much as I’m comfortable with
WARNINGS: n/a. WORD COUNT: 1,879.
Hide and Seek
You should be used to being in the spotlight like this, given your three years in the K-pop industry. Everytime you make a comeback, it’s expected that you’re thrust into interviews, guest appearances on TV, and music show recordings for a month following the release. Sometimes guestings take the whole day and recordings take the whole night, with very little breaks between. Most days you eat twice a day, light meals that are eight to ten hours apart. You sleep in the car on the way to appointments and barely have the energy to shower once you get back to your apartment before collapsing bone-tired on your bed, only to be woken up by your alarm four hours later for an early schedule.
It’s safe to say that, with your promotion schedule almost over, you are tired, hopped up on caffeine from coffee and energy drinks, and will most definitely sleep for 14 hours after all this done.
That’s all that’s running through your brain as you sit on a tall swivel chair between the hosts of another show (you’re not certain which one, at this point) on your right, and the whole of Pentagon on your left. Normally, you would be intimidated, sitting next to such a big group, that’s had so much success in their career so far. Having debuted almost at the same time (yours only a week earlier than theirs), you’re fairly close with the members. You may not be from the same agency, but you often go out on hang-outs with them, made easy by being Wooseok’s friend from high school. You know you’ve encountered all the members once or twice before, so you’re a lot less nervous about this interview.
“So Pentagon has returned for another comeback, along with your first ever full album called Universe: The Black Hall,” Dara, one of the hosts, says. “The title track is ‘Dr. Bebe’ and the concept this time is very dark. What made you guys decide to go for this type of concept for this comeback?”
“Yeah,” the other host Doyun concurs, “because Pentagon is known for your cute concepts like ‘Shine’, ‘Naughty Boy’ and ‘Humph’, right? Why the sudden change?”
“It’s exactly as you said,” Hui replied easily. “We have done a lot of cute and light concepts before, so this time we wanted to showcase a completely different side of us. I think a lot of people were surprised this time that we came out with a much heavier track that usual,” he finishes with a laugh.
“It’s also a chance to showcase more profound emotions for us,” Jinho adds. “It’s very… refreshing to have something new to play with in terms of conveying emotions and situations.”
The hosts hum in understanding, and you nod along. Doyun turns to you and you fell yourself sit up straighter. “And what about you, Y/N? You came out with a new mini-album along with the release of your new music video for the song ‘Blue and White’. What type of concept are you going for this time?”
“Well, the title of my mini-album is For Me and what I was going for this time is like a personal letter for me in different situations,” you begin. “’Blue and White’ is the opening track, and it’s sort of a mirror to a beautiful morning sky. It’s supposed to give you an energetic feeling, abut also a sense of contentment and peace, sort of like that.” You fiddle with the polka-dotted blanket on your lap. “I can’t really give a concrete concept for the whole album, but ‘Blue and White’ is a very light song, very happy, very bubbly.”
“Oh, yeah, I listened to it yesterday, and it did make me want to get up and go on a jog,” Dara says, and everyone laughs.
“That’s great, it worked!” Doyun says, clapping his hands before extending one to Pentagon. “Have any of you listened to her album?”
You look over and see a few hands raise—Hui, Yeo One, Hongseok, and Yuto. More of them listened to your album than you thought, and it makes you blush. Hui is an idol of yours when it comes to making songs, and you feel honored that he’s listening to your work.
“Ooh, quite a number of you,” he says. “Do you have a favorite track?”
Hongseok raises his hand. Dara invites him to answer and  Hongseok says, “I really like ‘Indigo’. I’m a big fan of ballads, and ‘Indigo’ such a good track to sing to. It’s very melancholic, and I think the feeling is supposed to convey frustration and loneliness, right?” He turns to you, as if for confirmation, and you nod excitedly. “Yeah, it’s a feeling that I’ve experienced before and the way it was treated as a subject matter in the song makes the emotions just… flow out of you, so it’s very easy to sing to.”
You bow to him in thanks, clasping your fingers together. Dara calls for another round, for anyone who wants to say their favorite track.
Yuto holds up a shy hand and timidly says, “’Blossoms’ is my favorite.”
“That’s a ballad, right?” Doyun says. “Do you sing along to it, like Hongseok?” he teases, and makes Yuto smile a bit.
“A little,” he replies, smile still on his face. “But singing isn’t really my strong suit. I like the song because it’s… it’s about love, but the repeating kind of love, in a sense that it persists and survives in good times and bad times, sort of like that.”
You had craned your neck to get a look at Yuto while he was speaking, but Wooseok is too tall and obstructing your view. Nonetheless, hearing him compliment ‘Blossoms’ on an interview so openly—and accurately, because you had him listen to the demo version of it and explained it to him—makes a tiny, pleased smile appear on your face.
“And you, Y/N? Do you have a favorite track from their album?” Dara asks, swivels her chair to face you.
You think, really think about it. “Aaahh, this is hard, all the songs in the album are amazing, and I’ve had them on repeat in my phone for the past week.” Everyone laughs at this. “But I think ‘Camellia’ is my favorite one out of all of them. I have a love-hate relationship with poems, even though I write poems set to music for a living, but the imagery in ‘Camellia’ is so strong and vivid that I just, see movie snapshots in my brain whenever I listen to it. It’s also very nice to sing to, and I love ballads as well.”
“What’s the song about again, can someone explain?” Dara gestures to Pentagon or to you, fine with anyone speaking up.”
“It’s actually Yuto’s song,” Kino suddenly says. “He wrote it.” He looks behind him, softly asking if he Yuto wants to explain it. When Yuto shakes his hand to decline, Kino turns back around and says, “Okay, it’s actually also about an everlasting love, and follows the image of a flower that blooms and withers constantly with the seasons.”
“Oh, so it’s a lot like ‘Blossoms’, then,” Doyun says, at awe in the connection of the songs. He points to you and Yuto. “You two have the same taste in music, huh?”
“Ah, I’m quite close to the maknae in Pentagon, and we frequently hang out when we have free days,” you say, and immediately think that maybe that wasn’t the best explanation. “We frequently give each other song recommendations, so maybe our tastes converge at some point.” It’s a lousy save, but it’s still a save.
Sure, let’s go with that, you think, as if the reason you like Camellia so much isn’t because it was the only thing you listened to for two weeks after the release of the album. And it’s not because when he was writing it, Yuto sent you short clips of the instrumental, as well as snippets of the demo track that had him singing softly across the melodies. Yeah, that’s totally not the reason why you love it so much.
“Oh, so you all hang out a lot, outside of recording schedules?” Dara says, looking at Kino at the front row, and then at Wooseok and Yuto sitting tall at the back row.
“I know her from high school,” Wooseok supplies. “So even before we debuted, we hung out a lot. Lately she just goes out with Yuto, though, since I’ve turned into a homebody.”
Your heart is beating a mile a minute. If you could, you’d jump from your chair and strangle your best friend this instant. Why didn’t he just say that you just dragged Yuto along during your get-togethers? Or maybe not mention Yuto at all? Maybe the lack of sleep is getting to him, too.
Dara and Doyun in the meantime, have sniffed out a possible scoop. “Ooohh, are these like dates?” Dara asks.
You put up your hands and vehemently (but not too much) shake your head. “No, it’s mainly just. Uh. Going out for coffee, since our dorms are near each other. Sometimes we watch movies and stuff because we’re both have free schedules, and the other members are busy.” You laugh smile, nerves alight, blood pumping adrenaline. “It’s mostly coincidental that we end up going out.”
You vaguely see Yuto nod his head before saying, “I think I pester Kino and Wooseok to go out a lot, too, and they’re busy anyway, so it ends up as just Y/N and I going out, even if we do want the members there, too.” Yuto cranes is neck to look at you, nodding slightly. Whether it’s to comfort you, or to make sure his story aligns with yours, you’re not sure. You nod back anyway, to ease the burden on his shoulders as well.
“Aah,” Doyun says, “so they aren’t dating; just good friends! And it’s very common these days to be friends with someone of the opposite gender, no?”
Well, you are dating. You just haven’t told your companies yet because you haven’t been together for long—give or take five months? Too early to tell anyone except for Kino, Wooseok, Hui, and both your managers. You’re not ready to come out to a lot of people, considering you both want to be more secure in the industry before letting it slip.
You both understand the need to keep it a secret, although it’s quite difficult whenever you get asked about relationships as they usually come in three to four questions. It’s also difficult when Wooseok decides that now is the time to tease that you and Yuto go on dates a lot. You make a mental note to ask your manager if it’s possible to not be scheduled at the same time as Pentagon, so you don’t have to drag the whole group down with you in case—knock on wood—a scandal happens.
The hosts have changed the topic—something about a game segment—and you take a calming breath; the danger has passed.
You have to admit, though: as stressful as keeping your dating life a secret can be, it’s also pretty thrilling. It’s like a long-running game of hide and seek.
