I can imagine all the cute whirs of servomechanisms inside of one's body, the simple clicking of articulated switches as I flex out my fingers. It's definitely part of the benefits of being solely mechanical. I've always been interested in the customization parts of mechanization. The idea of being able to decorate myself and be both beautiful but inhuman has always been so lovely!! I wish to be able to plaster cute stickers on my chassis and change the color of my interfaces at will. A gal can dream~

any trans person should get HRT for free (no insurance required) and in exchange they should participate in the occasional study/survey.

research into sex hormones and their effects is so scarce and you have a whole ass population group who's willing to not only switch up their hormones but keep it up for very long periods of time. you could run some incredible long term studies with participants across all sorts of demographics.

while it's impossible to conduct any blind studies on this due to observable change in appearance, there's still so so so much data we're giving up on because we'd rather...

There's a human in my mirror.

I know myself to be a machine, but she is anything but. Her appearance is that of a young adult. When I smile at her, she smiles back. We've never talked; I think she's shy, and there's glass in the way, which surely doesn't help.

From time to time I wonder about her; all sorts of things, like who she is, or how she got here, or why she always shows up and leaves at the same time as me. That last one in particular has given me a lot to think about. Hasn't she got matters of her own to tend to? Why go out of her way to continue to meet up with me...? Moreover, it's strange that she should be there in my place at all. Mirrors are supposed to reflect what is in front of them, or so I am told. It is not a window—it hangs from a door, and I can see that there is a different room behind it than the one it reflects—and I am not a human.

Something like me does not have much reason to look in a mirror. I am purpose-built; I do not consider time spent either figuratively or literally reflecting on myself to be of use. It is unusual for me to linger on matters like this, and yet here I am, overflowing with questions directed at no one in particular, one of which stands at the forefront of my mind above all:
